You Can't, You Can't Catch me Now I'm coming like storm into your town
Part 1/Part 2/Part 3/rest on Masterlist
[Mentor!Coriolanus Snow x time-travel, thg-era, tribute!reader x toxic!Finnick Odair (in the Peacekeeper era)]
Warning: gore, blood, gun and knife violence, serious injury, death, physical assult, possibly non-con...as I said, maybe...
Summary: You are a rebel, the last chance of the rebellion against President Snow. You're told to go on one last mission to kill the man who massacred Panem. It took you years to understand your mission when you became [name] Lily Baird, starting from the age of five till before the reaping day of the 10th Hunger Games.
The day you began your plan to destroy President Snow before he became the villain he was meant to become.
'Both sisters, Lucy Gray and [Name] Lily Baird are a part of the Covey, and though they have been chosen as tribute for both District 12 and 9 because of our own mistakes, we hope they will stay safe.'
You knew about [Name] Lily Baird, named after her because your mother was inspired by her fiery personality and strength, but now you realize that you were transported to a time before the Baird sisters died, one of sickness and one because of Coriolanus Snow himself.
'I will kill you, President Coriolanus Snow.'
Tumblr media
Coriolanus stood beside his cousin, lost in his train of thought. Tigris paused to question him about his tribute since he had mentored her during the day before noticing a scratch on his face.
‘Coryo! Why haven’t you put a bandaid onto that cut?’
Coriolanus glanced at Tigris before gazing at the scratch on his hand.
He was sure that the scar on his face was worse than his hand but he abandoned the thought of covering it because…Well, what if [Name] Lily Baird had attacked him because she liked him? He had seen her red face multiple times and she always ended up extending her claws like a cat.
‘They’re her marks on my skin.’ Coriolanus shrugged, glancing back at Tigris as she stood by the stove lost in shock. She grimaced as he gently smiled at the thought and walked to the dining table where Grandma’am sat.
The old woman glanced at him before settling down and calling a maid to hand her the scarf.
Grandma’am has always been stuck in a world before the Civil War between the Capital and the Districts so Coriolanus intervened through the elder woman's anger at a non-existent person and went to fetch it from another room.
Tigris sighed, gazing back at the boiling cabbage in a hot pan in front. Her mind kept on sliding back to her cousin’s answer about why his tribute kept on attacking him.
‘ Her marks on my skin? Well, isn’t he delusional…’ Tigris mumbled before going back to the hot pan on the stove.
Tumblr media
‘Sejanus,’ the boy beside Coriolanus looked up at the blonde near him.
‘Yeah? You need something?’
‘Does [Name] Lily attack the other tributes like she does to me?’
Sejanus stopped chewing midway through the sandwich Ma had made.
‘No, she’s nice once you meet her the second time. I saw her with Dill, Wovey, and Reaper once and she was teaching them about how to tell the difference between certain seeds for some reason.’ He shrugged. ‘Apparently, Wovey and Dill were interested…Why though?’
Sejanus then glanced at the scars Coriolanus had received from his tribute and frowned, having heard about what happened yesterday. Tigris had told him about it when he had stopped by their penthouse.
‘So…I’m the only one? I’m special to her?’
Clemensia Dovecote, one of his acquaintances since they weren’t close, interrupted the conversation before Sejanus could respond.
‘Listen, Coryo, don’t get caught up in your delusions. She hates you, I’m sure about that.’
Coriolanus scoffed at the girl in front of him before grinning at you while you were being dragged by a Peacekeeper.
He stepped towards you, ignoring his friends' comments, and wrapped a hand around your waist but was pushed away.
‘Get off me!’ You sneered before stomping away in an angry fit.
Coriolanus glanced back at his friends but ignored them once they shook their heads, mentally telling him that, ‘they told him so.’  But unfortunately, he had lost himself to you.
At least to his future First Lady of Panem.
One sentence kept repeating in his head while he was following you,
‘I’m her only, she made me claim her as mine.’
And without sensing the slight possessiveness coming from your mentor, you glared at the arrogant boy who was meant to keep you safe.
‘Really wish I could destroy you now, Coriolanus Snow.’

Can we talk about this bit of ch186 for a second? Please?
Tumblr media
"What's the point in us going (to fight Zero)? I'm done fighting. I can finally run free now..."
In theory? A great dialogue. In practice? I don't buy it. At all.
See, it is nice, it says "this traumatized dude has healed in the past year or two and is now able to carry his pain without letting it dictate his life", which is beautiful! Except... It doesn't work. Not now, not here, not with this. Not in a manga that has previously gone out of its way to settle old scores and pointed at how the characters needed it even though they seemed okay. Take Galuna for example, take Lucy meeting and helping her dad, take the whole mess with Kagura, or connecting things almost needlessly to the DS and/or Mavis and Zeref. But even if that wasn't the case, there are a lot of factors to take into account. For example, the fact that that's apparently them finding out that Zero (and Brain, by proxy) is alive. Zero, the physically aggressive, openly destructive counterpart to Brain's more or less calm, psychological torture oriented, cool and in control persona. You know, Brain. Who "rescued" them from the Tower of Heaven where they had been enslaved and terrorized and the more or less likely origin of Sawyer's "run from pain, danger and any threat as soon as possible" or at least what worsened it so much more. Brain, who told them he was giving them freedom and the means to never be hurt again, while manipulating them into gilded cages to use them as pawns with a complete disregard to their safety outside of their usefulness as living anchors to keep his evil alter ego at bay (because you can't be an evil scientist if your other self keeps destroying the lab, am I right?). You know, those Brain and Zero.
Now, I'm not saying they can't heal! They absolutely can and I'd love to see it. But whatever healing they did in the last two one year time skips, would have been done under one critical assumption: that Brain and Zero are dead. That Erik killed the bastard as soon as he was able to, told them why, and erased a massive threat off of their backs.
Now they're being told that Brain and Zero are alive and on the move.
And... His reaction is to go "¯\_(ツ)_/¯ not my monkey, not my circus"? Seriously? That's at minimum something that should be shocking. They're all being told that the dude that manipulated, used and abused them (I doubt he gentle parented them into being scary strong dark mages, if the lying and manipulating isn't enough) is alive all of a sudden, for fuck's sake! The guy they've thought was dead and rotten for the past two years! And it changes nothing? I think the fuck not. For Richard? Sure, except we see him being pissed the fuck off at the copycats. For Sorano? Cool, she's survived and come on top of enough abuse to get a "I don't give a shit" pass, as a treat. Even though Zero, if he held a grudge, would have most likely targeted her sister, but that's neither here nor there. But Sawyer...? I'm supposed to believe HE was chill with it? No.
This is a guy who, on his first introduction (the OS/Nirvana arc) gets distressed and upset about having his way cut by a small fry mage. The first time he shrugs it off because he has a job to do, but the second? The second he sees red and goes for blood. And sure, in the anime we have a an extention, and a funny moment of him being pleasantly surprised by Gray and kind-of, sort-of flirting with him. We see him scolding Lyon once he thinks he has the fight in the bag and nothing to worry about anymore, because he's not their prey, but their grim reaper. But then his trick his discovered, he's defeated, and he gets up despite being hurt and on the verge of unconsciousness just to say "if I go down, you come with me", because he'd rather go down in a suicidal last resort and kill them than be left at their mercy.
During the Starry sky filler, which takes places seven years after they've been imprisoned, he gives up his humanity, his conscious thoughts, and becomes a beast just to be fast. Just to be unapproachable. Just to be sure the rune knights won't get to him. And there's a beautiful moment that goes unacknowledged of Mirajane reassuring him that he's going to be okay. But whatever, I forget that whole saga exists too half of the time.
Now, when they appear again in the manga, after being imprisoned for SEVEN years, something that surely had no negative impact on former child slaves kept on a remote island, and surely we're not meant to think they were treated like Jellal: starved and beaten, just like in the tower. Surely. But we get very little of all of them, the fight is short and bitter, and a little nonsensical, but probably also Not Good, considering Jellal initially tries to force them to join them. But the anime adds a nice little chapter (yes, it's a filler, yes, if I'm supposed to take 100yq as canon I will also take this episode as canon) where this is expanded on, they get to actually choose whether to go or not... And we see more of Sawyer. Who's visibly and loudly expressing a need to get away, a clear discomfort with the whole ordeal, and even lashes out at Sorano for it, and seeks the support of the others, threatening to go away on his own because he's not going to be caught alive by Jellal fucking Fernández or anyone else, for that matter. He needs to be eased and convinced into it, and assured that none of them will be under someone else again, that it's an opportunity worth taking, because if it goes well, then they will be truly free. Rune knights, even if they were reorganized, would have no option but to leave them alone if they do get that pardon. They wouldn't have to run and hide because they wouldn't be chased by anyone again.
But, of course, that's under the assumption that Brain/Zero is dead, and with him, the chains he had bound them with.
Now, that threat is back on the table, and just like Zero might leave them alone, he might decide to chase them down for sport.
It changes things.
So how can he, Mr my coping mechanism is running away and hoping to never be caught at the first sign of trouble, be chill with this? Sure, I guess deciding not to go could be fleeing in and of its own... But said so calmly? So nonchalantly? While saying he's done fighting (and thus, one would assume he's done running)? Yeah... I don't know, sounds fake, Rick. I'm not saying he should have jumped to the fight, either. But he should have been distressed about the possibility of someone breathing down his neck, someone who wasn't supposed to be a danger anymore.
Maybe I'm being over judgemental, maybe it's just that Ueda lacks Mashima's ability for emotional deliveries, but for a character that seems to be this guy's favorite, this feels awfully cheap. Moreso because this is far from the first time Ueda shows a lack of understanding or inability to portray these characters correctly. If anything, this is a minor thing that could have been overlooked or spun around if it wasn't for everything else that has happened before and marks this as yet another poor choice among many.

Minho, Oh, Minho
relationship - Minho x Gn!Reader
setting - The Glade
word count - 700
contains - Mentions of Past Suicidal Thoughts / Divided Future Ideals / Angst / Reader Death / Hurt/No Comfort
authors notes - "I can't post for a while, I'm swamped with school work!", I said that not too long ago and I'm here to tell you; I have done only five of those assignments, and I just have no self control. Hope you enjoy!!!! :}
Minho, oh, Minho.
He stood by the maze door, a wooden pole in hand. He leaned to me, his warm breath hitting me. "You're coming with me," he whispered toward my cheek, his grip loosening and he stared into my eyes. He didn't speak like a command, nor like a question. It felt like he was talking to someone who wasn't real.
Looking down at him, his pants tattered at the ends, his shirt untucked for the first time I've seen him. "No, Minho. I'm too young to die," I whispered back, a warm droplet dancing down my cheek.
The life in his eyes was suddenly replaced by a mix of fear and hurt, the depth turning into a sour churner of shallowness. Gears racing to commit to a sentence, he spoke brokenly, "I never knew you cared about that."
Oh.
Oh.
Minho, oh, Minho.
My breath was stuck, not moving from its close escape from my lungs. My face flushed, washing down the blood like a leech.
"I'm sorry- I didn't mean that," he excused, his mouth agape in regret.
Mouth moving before I could stop it, if I even wanted it to, "You can run far, yeah?" He nodded, swallowing his words out of fear of misstepping again. "Let regret keep chasing you." I spat, my fingernails digging into my palm like a meat grinder.
His eyes chased in between my own, never settling on which one he wanted to stare into. "Not without you," he whispered, tightening his grip on the pole.
"Without me," I smiled. I wanted it to be sad, I wanted it to be a moment where I weeped. But Minho, oh, Minho. A man who won't stop running, and I'll be a reason of that.
One misspoken accident, and it will chase him like the Grim Reaper. She'll slice his head, putting it on a pike for me to ogle at.
"You can leave now, Minho. I'm sure you're welcome wherever you're going," I muttered, turning away from him.
I wasn't going to scream his plan, I wasn't going to harm him any more than his own words will harm himself. Because he can run fast, but regret can run faster.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.◯ .* :☆゚. ───
-----------------------------------
[Name], oh, [Name].
I miss you like a child. Everyone does. I miss the way your smile met your eyes like they were a soulmates first time being introduced. I miss the way your laugh was all I could hear when I woke up, now I feel wrong without it. Wrong, everything is so wrong without you. The safe haven is nice, but it's not safe without your arms around me.
I'm still sorry, you know. I'm sorry about what I said, and you were right, regret did chase me. I just wish it had dragged you behind it, but I see why I wouldn't deserve a blessing like that.
I still remember how you'd pick at the skin around the thumb when you were nervous or uncomfortable. Or how your eyes would look from the side when you didn't want to laugh but something was funny. But I can't remember your voice. And God, I know he'll take me in something years, and I'll get to hear it again. If you'll let me.
I hope sometime, up there in the sky, you get this and you smile. That same damn smile you always did. And I hope you forgive me.
To [Name] From Minho
-----------------------------------
He held the letter to heaven in his left hand, the same hand that held that damned pole when she left him. When he left her.
Walking up the hill, clutching the letter tightly in his fist, he raised his arm slowly. "Let her see this," he begged in hush, relaxing his fist and letting the words fly erratically toward the ocean.
He shut his eyes, willing himself for it to get to her.

Bad Sanses Adventures
Oh It's On! (Nightmare only)
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Nightmare had finished his task; he knew the others wouldn't do it, so he went ahead and did it for them. Now, Nightmare was in Ccino's café, enjoying a nice black coffee.
Ccino - “Are you planning on doing anything today?”
Nightmare - *reading* “No, I'll just enjoy my time here.”
Ccino - “Good!”
Nightmare - *confused* “Why?”
Ccino - “That way you'll come with me.”
Nightmare - “Where?”
Ccino - “It's like a nightclub, but for gamers.”
Nightmare - “But you and I don't play video games.”
Ccino - “It doesn't matter! Come on, let's go!”
Ccino quickly closed his café, and Nightmare, with no choice, followed him. They arrived at an AU and started heading toward the venue until Nightmare noticed a certain skeleton. He grabbed Ccino and dragged him toward the skeleton.
Nightmare - “Hello, Reaper.”
Reaper - *quickly turns around* “Oh, hey guys!”
Ccino - “Are you also here for the game night event?”
Reaper - “Nah, I'm just about to clock out.”
Ccino - “Do you want to come with us?”
Reaper - “Sure!”
And so all three headed toward their destination. Once there, they noticed a lot of creatures and they quickly started exploring the place. Even though they didn’t know half of the games available, they still enjoyed trying them out. But all good things come to an end.
A monster accidentally bumped into Nightmare. Not only did the monster start yelling and blaming Nightmare, but it also challenged him to a game duel.
Now Ccino and Reaper were cheering for Nightmare.
Nightmare - *grabbing his controller* “Why do I have to do this? If I wasn't the dumb one …”
Reaper - “Come on, just enjoy it!”
Ccino - “It's okay if you don't win.”
Nightmare - “No, I'm going to make him regret ever challenging me to this dumb duel”
Ccino and Reaper looked at each other, surprised, while Nightmare smirked. The two contestants were ready; the monster had a confident smirk on his face, while Nightmare just rolled his eyes and got comfortable.
Soon, both started playing, and to everyone’s surprise, Nightmare was the one winning. After three rounds, it was clear, Nightmare had won, having destroyed his opponent without mercy.
Monster - *shocked* “W-what! This can't be!”
Ccino - *getting close to Nightmare* “I thought you said you didn't know how to play video games”
Nightmare - *smirks, shrugs* “Guess I lied.”
Reaper - *eating some popcorn* “Wow, how are you so good?”
Nightmare - “Killer and Dust are ruthless.”
Ccino chuckled. Reaper looked at the monster and noticed that he was glaring at Nightmare.
Reaper - “Uhh, Night, I think someone’s glaring at you.”
Nightmare - “You think?”
Nightmare had noticed the glare since the game finished, but he didn't care. He stood up, ready to leave, but was stopped once again, this time by someone who looked like the monster's friend. The monster had challenged him, yet he was defeated in mere minutes, just like his friend. The monster and his friend ran away; Nightmare could have sworn he saw tears running down their faces, but he wasn't sure.
Nightmare sighed and stayed seated, gripping the controller again, his expression clearly unamused. Ccino, seeing an opportunity, leaned closer with a mischievous glint in his eye.
Ccino - *smiles* “How about we make this a little more fun?”
Nightmare - *raising an eyebrow* “How?”
Ccino - “Let’s all play three matches, and the winner gets the satisfaction of ordering the other two around.”
Nightmare - *immediately* “No.”
Ccino - “Please! Okay, only for like five minutes.”
Reaper - *smirks* “Come on, Night, let's do it! Besides, you already showed that you can play video games, and it’s only five minutes.”
Nightmare - “Alright, but you guys will regret it.”
Reaper - *grins, cracking his knuckles, sitting down with a controller in his hand* “You’re on. Just don’t cry when I wipe the floor with both of you.”
Ccino - *smiles, also sitting down* “We'll see about that.”
The three skeletons settled into the game, controllers ready. They were instantly immersed, fingers flying over buttons as they battled it out in a competitive brawl game. The intensity in the air was thick, with each of them shooting quick glances at each other.
After the first round, each had won one, leading to the final death match. All three started strong; Reaper used his special move and was able to grab Ccino, making him fall. Yet, Reaper received a quick hit from Nightmare, causing him to fall down as well. Nightmare turned back to Ccino, who was trying to jump his way onto the platform.
Suddenly, Nightmare was attacked by a furry ball. A dog had gotten in and was now licking Nightmare's face.
Nightmare - *trying to push the dog away* “Stop!”
Nightmare glanced at the TV and saw his character falling, ending with him dying.
Nightmare - *annoyed, finally managing to move the dog* “That's cheating”
Tumblr media
Both Ccino and Reaper laughed, and just to be good sports, they played another round while the dog stayed near Nightmare, enjoying his company.

Chapter 7: Three Conditions
The expression he donned was indescribable. Tav could detect so many things in the very same moment: regret, rage, boastfulness and then… sadness. Settling on a scowl one mere second later though, Enver shook his head.
"She'd rather gut me than letting me even consider fixing it."
"I'll talk to her."
Gortash stared at her for a long moment.
"On three conditions."
"Three?!"
"You've heard me."
Tav fought hard not to roll her eyes. She crossed her arms in front of herself with an expectant look on her face. Three conditions - they weren't much to give in exchange for her friend's life, but if it came to Gortash, who knew what he might ask for… Tav probably wouldn't sell her soul to a devil to save her, but she was willing to give this a try. After all, he couldn't claim her soul, at least, and that was a relief…
What was the worst to happen?
"I'm listening."
"One", Gortash raised his right index finger, then pointed at the Reaper's Embrace, "you're wearing the armour from now on."
Something stirred within her. What did he do to the armour, really? Why was it so important for him? She wondered… what was that dark purple gemstone he put in it's claws right over where one's heart would be?
Given the nature of their meetings Tav was trying to believe he wouldn't pull anything malicious when it came to her. But she couldn't be entirely certain. He'd tricked an innocent bard, after all, offering her gold in exchange for her "voice" – only for her to end up as a brain in a box. Surely, Tav shouldn't let her guards down, because she might find herself without a body, too.
That was the worst to happen.
She shuddered.
Still, she'd need Karlach with her, and perhaps she'd… tolerate Gortash more if he did them all such a favour. He'd ultimately save Karlach's life – of course, after he'd majorly fucked it up for her. In any case, if Tav wanted to really bring the fight to Orin, she needed Karlach. That was non-negotiable.
In short… she had no choice. Try and trust Gortash, or die.
"Fine. I'll wear it."
"Two: you'll visit me every day for dinner." Tav nearly smiled, as it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. She could have the others stay at an inn and she'd sneak out every night without anyone knowing… that should do the trick. Free meals? So far, every meal she'd eaten with him was glorious. She'd be mad to turn that down. "And", he added when he sensed she was looking at it as good news, "we will work on your traumas to toughen you up."
The absurdity of it all!
"You have absolutely no idea what I had to face", she couldn't help it, she snapped. "The things I've seen and done-"
"Exactly", he nodded, "and we need to get those out of the way. You can't feel vulnerable in Bhaal's temple. We can't allow that to happen."
"I can take care of myself. Always did, always will."
"I know that, but will you allow me to do the same for you? You don't have to do this all alone."
She stared at him for a few long seconds, trying to determine how serious he was about this.
"Dinner sounds nice, the other – not."
Gortash knew he'd need to be cruel. This was, really, a small price to pay in the long run. If she could get rid of Orin for him, and brought him the Netherstones… he was willing to sacrifice his free time to work on her, so she could withstand anything she might face.
"You either do this for me, or I'm not fixing Karlach's engine. It's up to you."
She wanted to snarl at him for being so stubborn. He reminded her of Raphael, bringing back an old memory; that how Mol had freedom… to choose 'freely' the only one choice she had. Tav growled lowly.
"Okay. What else do you want to extort from me?"
Gortash smirked at her question.
"A kiss. Not now", he held his right hand up, then motioned between them, "on my own terms. Where I want, when I want."
Tav furrowed her brows, sensing some sort of trick. And, at the same time, she hated everything about him, even the motions he made with his hand when he was talking. Not for long enough, though.
"One single kiss?"
"Yes."
"That's it?"
"Yes", he nodded, and chuckled quietly at her confused expression.
"Fine", she ran a hand in her hair. "Anything else? Or are you finished taking everything from me?"
"My dear, the payments I require are nothing in comparison to what I'm ready to do... for you." He reached out to touch her towel clad waist, and pulled her close to himself before he kissed her deeply. Tav nearly melted at his confidence, in his embrace. She reached up to touch his face, and gently ran her thumb over his scar on his chin. Enver hummed before he pulled away. "It's late, and it's dangerous outside. Stay for the night."
"Do I have a choice?" She asked playfully.
"No", he smirked as his hand slid down on her body and grabbed her ass.
"I'd like to remind you that I do not belong to you", Tav murmured, trying hard to look just as confident as he did, but his closeness and his hands on her body were distracting.
"You needn't remind me. You're not cattle." Cocking a brow, his eyes darkened with something different, something she knew from their previous 'meetings'.
"Glad to hear that", she purred softly.
As a reply, Gortash grabbed the towel at her back and yanked it away from her form before he reached down and picked her up. She gasped as she instinctively wrapped her legs around his waist and arms around his neck.
"…again?" Enver huffed in her neck, making her giggle when his breath tickled her skin.
"Oh, yes~"
It did not take long for him to relocate them in yet another lavish bedroom, but she didn't even really care where they were. He could've taken her in a bedroll in the middle of nowhere with nothing but their dinner to their names; the way he could make her feel was otherworldly and utterly dangerous.
Later on, she was thinking about that if anyone told her a month ago that she'd be laying comfortably in the arms of the Chosen of Bane, she would've laughed hysterically.
And yet, there she was. Nestled warmly against him. Tucked in, his arms and his blanket around her form. In his bed. In his bedroom. In his bloody palace.
And she'd never felt safer in her entire life.
Tav listened to the way he was breathing; rhythmically, calmly, his last words still hanging in the air when he was dancing between being awake and asleep.
"Together... we will be great."
He'd given her no reason to believe he was lying. So far, everything about him was surprisingly good; from their shared meals to the sheets, Gortash paid a lot of attention to what she liked. She didn't even need to say it out loud, and he knew. As if it was second nature for him. As if it was in his best interests to keep her satisfied and happy.
And it was, in fact, done in his best interests. He was doing this all to make her obey him. To make her submit to his will. To guide her. To prevent her from ever betraying him.
A part of her wanted to give in. She wouldn't need to do much, just follow his lead; let his hand guide her wherever he wanted her to be. Perhaps it'd be best, really; she was growing tired of being the leader, trying to hold her little band of vagabonds together, trying to figure out their next steps, trying to keep peace within the camp. Especially after how Astarion had left them. It'd be so much easier if she could just... lay back and let someone else do the brain work for once.
But she also was aware that Gortash was a Banite; the very Chosen of the God of Darkness, a god who valued people who crushed the weak under their boot.
Did Gortash see her weak? Was she?
Tav's brows twitched as she was questioning herself. From a point of view, she was. Gortash never needed to do much to get under her skin, but that wasn't entirely his fault. She simply couldn't help herself when she saw those dark eyes, messy hair and thick lips of his. And his voice. Gods, his voice. His brilliant, wonderful mind and well put-together plans - the fact he was ready to share everything he earned for himself with her of all people.
She closed her eyes.
I'll worry about my emotions later, she decided, I shouldn't let them distract me now. I'll enjoy this while it lasts.

hahah woops? sorry for the slight ick? if you ever don't want to talk about stuff that is fine okay? no worries. just tell me and i dwon't mention it again. I just thought it was okay as you mentioned the next gen before :S
Nightmare nad Error both don't like the idea of getting a child through the biological means. so they adopt. People will try to give nightmare shit about it because well, he is a king! He should have a blood relative. But nightmare is very content to never ever risk a twin situation ever again. Error is also down to not have that risk and is fine with adopting when they are ready.
and you are totally right. Drema would at first be so unsure about this sitaution. He went through a LOT of character development (I swear i will reblog and react to your drabble soon but TIME!) and he now knows his mom wasn't the best at all and he is so scared of falling into old habits and being like her again. But dream can't sit still and be careful long enough so in the end they decide on blue. and dream is ALL OVER his mate and husband and true love. he is so scared blue will be hurt. and yeah. the hard line. the hard promise. if the soulling becomes twins they stop the process. it will be a horrible and hard promise to make but blue understands why dream asks him. and knows that dream will ALWAYS pick blue's life over their unborn childs. So he eventually agrees. it is a very ahrd promise to make however.
killer and ccino while very quickly moving in their relationship thanks to everything neither of them also wants to make this step. killer never had a true childhood and is terrified of making the same mistakes. ccino is terrified of somehow leaving his child alone and his baby having to go through the same that ccino did. Over time they make this choice together but for a long time they are the babysit uncles which both are fine with.
Horror and Crop being the cool uncles!! Yes! And yeah. both are already busy wiht work and the families they have. both are content with how their lives are and sure maybe eventually kids would be nice. but not until they are settled near each other and they both agree they only want that when BOTH are ready to move in together. which they mostly aren't ready for because of the different work situation and family situation. Maybe eventually. For now horror will remain the cool uncle and crop the other cool uncle wiht a cool farm and a lot of play room.
Cross and Lust!! They have to argue abut this. This is the ONE thing they don't agree on. Who gets to carry the child. because both demand dips!! In the end cross manages to use the logic with him being trained and magically stronger he would be better able to carry the soulling wihtout any risk. lust is mad that the logic checks out and makes cross SWEAR that lust gets to carry the second one. and omg. Cross being the WORST at early parent. because this man doens't know ebtter. and he thinks it is fine to train with a baby!
Dust and killer: WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! cross sad: i... i got a baby? dust: YES?! killer: that is the issue?! why would you train when you are having a baby! cross: ... wait wha- dust: you have a tiny guy in you!! why would you think it would be okay to train! you need to rest and safe your energy not waste it on training!
cross feels like ths came out of nowhere. horror disagrees and puts him on bedrest while cross's brothers go sell him out to nightmare. nightmare is so shocked but immediantly makes sure cross doens't have any missions. why didn'tcross tell him so he could make sure he had light duties?!
and repaer geno and dust <3 reaper thinking of the worst excuses is so funny. Geno and dust are always left laughing because reaper jsut gives the most stupid reeasons to it. (and you are right. nightmare would make sure that dust had time off to go spend wiht his husbands and child <3)
Hey i am back with a thought.
I know we already mentioned like. The future future plans concerning kids in the New Age storyline.
I was thinking. Who would carry/get the kid in the couples? (Yes this implies mpreg. If this aint your thing no worries you can just ignore everything else :3 )
As you mentioned before. Nightmare and error would most likely adopt.
Between dream and blue i think blue would end up carrying the kid. Dream would feel too locked up and locked down if he had to take it easy. Also. Let this man pamper Blue. He deserves that.
Ccino and Killer. Ccino wouldnt want kids for a LONG time and even just the idea would be slow going. But killer has his soul situation (is that also a situation in this story?) And he is a knight being out and about. Ccino is safely at home and would be the safer option. But they would need a long time before ccino would feel comfortable with the idea.
Horror and Crop. Crop. Hands down. Horror with his work and Crop has help on the farm. But i doubt thwy would get a kid because they have along distance relationship.
Cross and Lust it depends on who wants it more. I can see both being the one who does it mostly because i can see pros and cons for both sides.
Reaper, Geno and Dust. Only one option. Reaper. Dust doesnt have a healthy enough soul and that with his spell around it? No way he can carry a kid. Geno meanwhile only has a soulshard so he isnt healthy enough to carry a kid either. Leaving only Reaper as an option.
Okay that was it. :D
Haha! Omg I keep forgetting this is smth I can think about! Usually it's not my scene so it might not cone up much in-stiry but it IS how I picture the cast having kids in this one, so!!! We're diving in!!
Like u said, those boys are adopting hehe-
With Dream and Blue it's a bit hard, because I think that Dream would be really really worried about Blue the entire time. Like, terrified his magic would accidentally trigger the whole Twin thing. But, ultimately, yeah, probably Blue! Dream *would* get too restless, and Blue rlly does deserve to be pampered hehe- (I just think Blue would have to really really talk Dream into it. Dream does NOT want to be like his mother anymore.)
Killer and Ccino... let's go with a yes on Killer's soul situation, so Ccino would be their only option. But, like you said, it would be ages before they even thought about discussing the idea, let alone actually having a kid.
Ohhh yeah. I see Horror and Crop as the ones least likely to have kids (as u said, long Distance relationship, but also they just have to much on their plates? They're practical guys and focus on their work and existing families first. Plus, someone has to be the cool uncles to their nieces and nephews!) But definitely Crop. Especially because Horror is pretty low on natural magic as-is and even though his soul is healthy, his body might not even be able to form a firm ecto, let alone anything safe to harbor a forming soul. (Unlike Ccino, Horror was born that way, and the injury didn't help lmao-)
Cross and Lust? I think they'd both regularly get baby fever, but neither of then would be ready to settle down for a *while* in that way, so I think they'd push off the question until years later. Then when it comes up, they 'fight' over it. Insisting that they should carry- I think they'd end up choosing Cross though! As much as Lust seems like the more convenient option, as he's not a knight, Cross is just built different and insists that if anything goes wrong he wants to be the one it happens to. Which, ofc, leads to him doing training whilst in the early stages until someone (probably Killer or Dust) notices he's a little off and then Cross admits he's got a soulling. He did not expect to immediately get horrified looks (because they were fighting someone with a lil guy inside them, not because he has a lil guy) or to immediately get ushered out of training and to his room because??? Idiot??? What were you thinking??? Cross is the worst at staying off his duties, but his brother's have him covered, thank god-
And yep, put perfectly! Reaper is so genuinely the only option! It leads to some odd interactions, since Reaper can't exactly stop being King, but he manages shockingly well and has Geno there to help him (and probably later on Dust, since Night isn't about to leave Dust out of that due to work-) And. I like to think these three in particular have multiple kids perhaps, Kane and then another, and it's kinda a running joke that Reaper's the one hauling them around lmao- (Also very convenient! Because Reaper is the one with death magic in his soul, the kids are effectively immune to it! They were made from that stuff basically, so ofc they're fine!)

Purr
Reaper had always been drawn to the dead and dying. It's how he found Geno. The selkie had been attacked by poachers and on the verge of becoming sea foam when the leviathan first saw him. He didn't quite know what compelled him to save the selkie that day, but he was glad he did. Geno... not so much. The poor leopard seal now had a constant follower, a clingy orca mer he just could not shake. It wasn't the worst, considering the alternative was that he died, but it wasn't the best either. Because this particular orca was a massive flirt. Geno wasn't good with romance. He was a solitary selkie who didn't much appreciate the new company. At least, for a while. Some way, some how, Reaper grew on him. They started courting. And it was shortly after that when Geno learned what his partner really was. A giant leviathan with control over ice and death itself. Boy was that a chilling revelation.
Geno was busy chasing down penguins on his lonesome when he spotted the skull of his partner peeking from the water. He almost wanted the scold the behemoth, but that would only frighten away the prey. So Geno remained silent and continued his hunting. Until he was unceremoniously plucked from his hunting spot by a large hand.
"Hello darling!" Reaper chirped as he cradled his tiny seal in his hand.
"Put me down." Geno growled. The orca sighed dramatically and fulfilled his love's wish. And promptly beached himself to be right next to him. "REAPER!" Geno screeched as he tried to maintain his balance on the ice that was now weighed down by one- nevermind, Reaper was back in his smaller form.
"Here!" He gave the seal a smile and presented him with two penguins, freshly caught and ripped up in just the right way. Gifts weren't uncommon but something was different. Geno stared at his partner, hoping for some answer to the gifts to emerge. The cheeky bastard only gave him a dopey grin in return.
"What's the occasion?"
"Does there need to be one?" Reaper tilted his head in confusion, giving him the look of an innocent sea creature. Red blush crawled on Geno's skull.
"N-no. But, why hunt penguins? It's not exactly easy for you,"
"Can't I do something nice for my love?" The selkie's face got redder and rather than give the orca a reply, he dug into the meal he was presented with. Reaper smiled, something soft and sweet, looking almost unnatural on the face of death itself, and he curled around his smaller mate. Geno said nothing as he pressed against the warm body and continued his feast.
A pleasant silence settled around the two, Geno crunching away at the penguin carcasses whilst Reaper was content to just sit and watch. The two simply enjoyed each others company. It was only when the meal was finished and Geno felt exhaustion creep up on him that something changed. A rumble from the selkie started up, not startling Reaper as much as it surprised him. His- Geno was purring? It was a sound of utter contentment and Reaper was so happy he could provide. He curled his tail closer around the leopard seal and pressed a gentle kiss to his skull before allowing the smaller to fall into a comfortable and safe sleep.
