Linked Universe Links Custom Skates Explained!
yeah, i'm really milking this, aren't i? based on this post of mine!
Close-ups and explanations under the cut!!
Legend: his in-lines were half custom built, half attacked with leather/vinyl paint and stickers. Marin painted the hibiscus while Ravio put on the rupee sticker and Legend was gifted the pink bunny. The toe protector was an add on by Ravio to tie in the magenta wheels. They’re a bit of a hodgepodge but Legend likes them.
Hyrule: his are hand-me-downs from someone in the chain. Wild, probably. Once he can actually skate he’s planning on getting a nice pair for himself. According to Legend these skates were once a nice light yellow.
Warriors: CUSTOM SUEDE MOXI SKATES. Yes i am dropping names in this lmao. He originally started the sparkly wheel kick the chain seems to be on. His other skate has the reverse stopper (stopper on the back) as his are specifically made for dancing. He religiously takes care of the suede and keeps his bearings perfectly cleaned and oiled, and his trucks perfectly loosened to his liking. Yes they were over $500. Yes they were worth it. If you were wondering: yes. The wheels light up too. i want them so badlyyyy
Wind: they were a regular pair of Rio skates that he let Tetra take leather paint to. She tried to paint the ocean but it turned out more like blue flames. Whatever, he likes them. They go fast and he had fun making them his. Once he stops growing he’s gunning for a better pair though, ones that go EVEN FASTER.
my friend @/lunalia_121 on twitter helped me figure out the design of these!
Time: He bought his Riedells back in ‘86 and he’s NOT giving them up. These things go for $2000 now! He recently had to replace his wheels since they finally wore out (again, they’re ancient), Warriors convinced him to join the sparkly side. He has long ass laces that he has to wrap around his boot at least twice before they’re even manageable. Next time Warriors is gonna need to bring him to get new stoppers, they are just about worn out too. He also likes keeping his trucks nice and loose, a trait Warriors learned from him.
Wild: As i said; derby style skates. Flora painted the silent princess on his heel for good luck and he personally seeks out to murder anyone who makes him scuff it by accident. He skates for the Sheika team and therefore their logo is both on his helmet and scribbled onto his skates. tie up your goddess-damned laces
Twilight: HOWDY. YOU ASK I DELIVER, WHAT CAN I TELL YA? But no, I un-ironically love these. He found them on the internet and fixed them up. He loves them so much, the matte leather is always taken care of perfectly. When he’s not wearing them he keeps a skate key in them. Since they were kinda cheaply made the trucks and shocks are always wonky so he has to fix them up at the beginning of every night. He’s saving up to rebuild them.
Four: padded vinyl skates. They were originally made as dancing skates, but he just uses them for leisure. One of Warrior’s friends outgrew them so they sold them to Four for a good price. They’re a little much with all the gold and embellished stitching, but he likes them. He keeps up the different coloured wheels even if it means he buys Four packs when he needs more. Though, he doesn't have to buy a new set the next four times the wheels go wonky.
Sky: gimme these i need them so bad please please PLEASE!!! They were just plain blue Impalas when he bought them, Sun said they were too plain. Sky painted the design on the tongue and the clouds, Sun found the wings in a skate store and added on the details so they looked more like Sky’s bird, Crimson. Another perpetrator of the sparkly wheel agenda.
--- --- ---
the art of this took six hours from start to finish, so yeah, I'm really proud of it! i may end up making more of these if you like them, and if you draw any of the characters in these, tag me!!!!

Some of y’all already know who this is, but I’m gonna give a brief break down for those of you who don’t, lol. This is C.C, she was my very first oc, I made her when I was like 12, I think?, so 10 years ago. I made her when I was DEEP in my Laughing Jack obsession and was straight cringe (more so than now), I literally made her to ship with Jack. (Jack is shipped with two of my ocs, lol) Just for this scenario I thought about what it would be like if the two were friends and she worked at Ragz’s bakery, which led to me making these lil doodles.

Some of its blurry cause it’s legitimately hard as fuck to draw small (especially using your finger)

Part five and the last part of the Pure Lily family tree (I hope). We're finally touching the families that some children have started.
Let's start with these two families.
Clotted Cream is dating Wildberry, the adopted father of Strawberry, Wild Strawberry, and Strawberry Crepe. (Clotted Cream will be the stepfather to those three soon.) Red Velvet is the partner to Pastry (who will marry soon) and is the adopted father to Capsaicin and Pond Dino while being the jam-related father to Strawberry Cream. Wildberry did try to adopt Strawberry Cream before learning that he was Red Velvet's son. This photo was taken before they agreed for Wildberry to be his Godfather (or the Cookie equivalent of a Godfather.) (Also, this was made way before the release of Strawberry Shortcake Cookie...so imagine they're there, just hiding behind Pastry.)
4/2/24: *Here's the updated picture of the RedPastry household, roommates and children.
Previous statement still stands. Strawberry Shortcake Cookie is here now! And the two (unofficial children) roommates! Brute and Space Doughnut!
Madeleine is the husband to Espresso and the adopted father to Snow Sugar. Snow Sugar is the grandchild of Cotton (and the training ward of Frost Queen).
And that's pretty much-
Oh wait.
Yeah...I fell into the hole that Royal Margarine and Pitaya Dragon are together (big thanks to @nightmyst14-blog again) and Snapdragon is their child.
And that's it!

BDOR Prologue: Ballrooms and Buffoonery (1/1)
Partially inspired by @cutthroatcarnival's discussion of whether Twilight would know how to dance the Cotton Eye Joe.
The answer is yes.
And with that review, Twilight began to sing: “Buh dap duh dap uh, good ol’ man Joe! Something, oh crap, I don’t know the words—where didja come from, where didja GOOOOO?”
Twilight howled it to the rooftop of the house. Wild screeched back, "Twilight, shut UP!” with one hand planted firmly over his ear, the other pressed into his own shoulder. He tried to pull out of Twilight’s grip to no avail. “Stop, stop, STOP!”
Twilight paid him no mind, launching them into a spin connected at the elbows. “Where did you come fro—oow!”
Twilight let Wild go and raised his arms over his head to escape his barrage of light, if not well-aimed, slaps. “What?” he asked sweetly, “don’tcha like my singin’?”
“NO! Stop it!”

I love the idea of games you can only ever play once. I've only found 1 so far:
Outer Wilds.
This post won't have any spoilers, but if you haven't played it, I'm actually begging you. If you can't or simply don't want to (you do want to), Pirate Software on YouTube has an excellent longplay of the game. Please. If this post doesn't convince you to play it, I've failed as a person.
YAPPING BELOW
In Outer Wilds (not to be confused with Outer Worlds) you play an astronaut from the planet Timber Hearth (You don't play a human, but it doesn't matter. The game would still be the same if you were) taking your first trip into space. Don't worry, it's way easier and nowhere near as stressful as it sounds for now. Your galaxy is tiny, to be honest. You can walk around the entirety of your planet in a few minutes, and the other planets aren't much bigger, but this lends great to the gameplay. Anyways, once you make it to space, you'll probably explore a bit. Probably the Attlerock, your home planets moon, but what's next? Maybe Giant's Deep, the water planet with constant hurricanes. Maybe Brittle Hollow, with a crumbling crust, black hole core, and volcanic moon? Or the Hourglass Twins, orbiting each other and passing a massive amount of sand back and forth? The Dark Bramble is an option, but... Well you'll see. Possibly even The Interloper, the strange comet that happens to be stuck in an awkward orbit around the sun? Whatever you choose, you're on a clock of 22 minutes. Why? Because the sun is exploding of course!
That's right! In 22 minutes from the start, your sun will go supernova, and destroy your galaxy and everything in it. And this game is so batshit in the best way that that isn't even a spoiler, it's just the hook.
"But Ceety," you may be asking, "what makes it so I can only play this game once?"
Well, dear reader, that's because you go back. Every time you die, (with some exceptions) you will be sent back to the beginning of the game, with only your memories leftover. That's it. That's why. Because once you have that knowledge, the game can't and doesn't want to take it from you, ever. You can't play the game through more than once because you can only gain and apply new information you get in every loop once. The game is technically beatable from the first loop. But (unless you've got a tutorial) you won't beat it on the first loop, and that's intentional. Because you're meant to go somewhere, figure something out, run out of time, and then figure something else out. It stacks, until eventually, you've learned enough to make the final round. And you can't get that back. Ever. Once you have played the game through, that's it. Because now, you know everything, and you can't figure it out again.
The puzzles have been solved. It's like the game is asking you "What has 4 legs in the morning, 2 legs in the evening, and 3 legs at night?" and you get to go through the process of figuring out the answer. And when you do, it pats you on the back, and says "Good job kid. I'm proud of you" and gestures to the door. You can ask it to tell you a riddle again, but it's just the same one, with the same answer. You got the experience. And that experience can't be taken from you, but it can't be given again.
I love Outer Wilds.
#2 favorite game.

On today’s episode of Neurodivergence I will start by singing a single line from cotton eyed joe in increasingly disturbing voices and end with an oddly passionate lecture on the evolution of stylistic British literature- reverse engineering it from Gaiman and Pratchett to Wilde. No one will ask for or in any way prompt any of this.
