the 1917 fandom need
another 1917 but from the point of view of the Yorks
The movie would start with the battle (2 days before Blake and Schofield came then) and end up when Blake shoots the flare so that we can see the Yorks reaction when he does

I saw this movie - 1917 - on Friday night (three days ago) and I just can't stop thinking about it! I was a little afraid of what the movie will be like because of all the hype around it, I was hearing only GREAT references about the movie.
(tbh i was so freakin excited too 'cause I've been following the journey of the film for sooo long haha)
I personally think I know a lot of stuff about WWI but I still did some extra research so I can compare and stuff you know.
THIS MOVIE TOTALLY GOT ME. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WAS EXPECTING BUT IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL.
The actor's work, the cinematography, the effects, everything. I loved it. It looked so real. They were right about the movie.
I really wanna thank Sam Mendes, the director, for the amazing job (as always - for example he directed Skyfall) and also a HUGE thank you and RESPECT to the actors George and Dean. They did an extraordinary job on it and I just wanna say I believed them every word they said.
So I was wondering people, is anyone here interested for some 1917 imagines hehe? Just hit me up or something and I'll try my best to write it!
Also, just a reminder: the writing is based on the actors portrayal, not the actual heroes. ♡

Day 4: 1917
Directed by Sam Mendes
Released in 2020
War film
Synopsis: On 6 April 1917, during the Great War, two young Lance Corporals, Thomas Blake and William Schofield have the mission to transmitting an extremely important message to Second Battalion of the Devonshire Regiment. The message could save the live of 1600 soldiers, including Blake’s brother. Blake and Schofield have less than a day to cross the no man’s land and an abandoned village (that can be occupied by ennemies) to find the Battalion.
Probably one of the best movies I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s excellent on all the aspects. The cinematography is just exceptional. And I just love how it has been filmed, it’s like a one shot sequence!
How do they manage to make the story so sad and so  beautiful at the same time? I was in tears at the end...
Without an hesitation, I give it a 5/5.

Landmark study on the effects of copyright takedown abuse on online free expression #1yrago
Tumblr media
Three of America's sharpest copyright scholars have released a landmark study of the impact of copyright takedowns on free expression in America: Notice and Takedown in Everyday Practice, by Jennifer Urban (UC Berkeley), Joe Karaganis (Columbia), and Brianna L. Schofiel (UC Berkeley) uses detailed surveys and interviews and a random sample from over 100,000,000 takedown notices to analyze the proportion of fraudulent, malformed or otherwise incorrect acts of censorship undertaken in copyright's name, using the Digital Millennium Copyright Act's takedown procedure.
The DMCA is nearly 20 years old, and even before it was passed into law, virtually everyone who was paying attention said that creating a system that allows anything online to be censored through copyright infringement accusations, without due process or even penalties for getting it wrong, would get us into trouble. Now the evidence is in, and it couldn't be more damning.
