Giles x reader - don’t go

Part three:

Giles was marking off the days you had been gone, keeping track of them.

He had tried reaching out to your through spell Willow had used to contact you the last time, but you weren’t in one spot.

He would appear just in time to see your wolf form running through the trees.

Weeks were turning into months, and there was no word from you.

“I’m sure she’s okay Giles.” Tara smiled.

“Yes, I’m sure she hasn’t been hunted and killed yet.”

Everybody glared at Anya before turning back to Giles who was stood behind the counter of his shop reading your letter again.

“I feel she should have been back by now.” He said.

“I mean she said she needed time to think… maybe she’s just somewhere.. you know.. thinking..” willow smiled.

Giles smiled a little back, and folded the letter up, putting it back in his pocket and walked over to help them with their new demon problem.

Your paws slammed though the water, and you slid to a halt as you looked around the forest.

You had dealt with the e rouges over a month ago, now you were wondering, trying to figure out what you were doing.

You were near the town you had left, when you dealt with the wolves you had found your way back there just wondering the edges.

You carried on wondering again, making your way to a deeper part of the stream and you crouched down to look at the reflection of yourself.

Your amber eyes beamed back and you huffed a little as you stretched.

You wanted a peaceful life, one where you didn’t have to keep running from everything, where you weren’t scared.

You wanted to be human, things were easier for them, less worry about hunters and werewolves and all that sort of stuff.

But at the same time, you loved this. The wolf, the wild, the power you had and everything that made your stand out.

Maybe that’s why you were running.

You began your wondering once more, you made your way towards the town, turning back to your human form.

You wondered through the streets, hands in your pockets and you paused, not really sure where to go.

Your feet seemed to lead the way, and you to where they wanted to go, and you stood outside of the magic box looking in.

They all seemed to be having fun, and you smiled a little bit.

You turned around and began to wonder once more, going to find somewhere to get some actual good food and a hot drink, something you had missed.

Sitting down, you nibbles on your fries as you stared at the table deep in thought.

You felt somebody tackle you and you yelled in surprise, punching them in the face.

“Ow! (Y/N)!”

“Oh shit, sorry Xander!”

He laughed a little, sitting opposite you, Anya, Tara, Willow and Buffy all crowded you with their own food.

“How long have you been back? Where did you go?” Anya asked.

“Yeah why did you come see us?!” Willow pouted.

You laughed, shaking your head at them and picked up another couple of fries to eat.

“I just got back today, I was just wondering I suppose.”

They carried on barraging you with questions, and you answered them, sometimes avoiding telling them the real answer.

After a few hours they all left aside from Buffy, she wondered the streets with you.

“Shouldn’t you be heading home?” You asked.

“I’ve got to patrol soon, but can I uh.. can I ask you something? And get like a real answer?”

You glanced at her.

“Of course.”

Buffy stopped walking, sitting down on a bench so you did the same thing.

“How long have you really been back?”

You sighed, looking down at your hands.

“About a month if I had to guess, I’m not too sure. I’ve been at the edge of town.”

She nodded her head.

“Why didn’t you come back?”

You leant back, tilting your head back to look at the stars that were barely visible.

“I.. I’m not sure really… I just..”

Sitting yourself up you turned your head to her.

“This may seem weird, coming from well, someone who’s in their 30s, but have you ever felt so conflicted about something all you want to do is runway?”

“Well, I actually did runaway once, so yeah. I do.”

You went quiet.

“You know he waits for you, right?”

You looked down at your hands again.

“Buffy.. what if I.. what if I’m not the right person for Rupert. I mean he’s a human, I’m a werewolf, what if he gets hurt or realises that I’m a threat or something?”

“Are you like having a midlife crisis? Because vampires and demons I can deal with but not this.”

You laughed, grinning a little at her.

“No! I’m not having a midlife crisis! I just.. I don’t know. I don’t know what to do.”

She jumped up and pointed at you.

“Oh my god you’re having a midlife crisis!”

You swatted her hand away, and stood up.

“No I’m not!”

“You totally are! Oh my god! And Giles is the reason!”

She seemed to think about what she had said and gave you a disgusted look.

“Ew that’s gross, he’s old.”

“What the hell does that make me?”

“Not as old?” She grinned sheepishly.

You laughed softly, shaking your head at her and you smiled, putting your hands into your pockets.

Buffy smiled back, and she crossed her arms.

“Just go and see him. Talk to him.”

“I don’t think I can that’s the point, I get all nervous and scared and I’ve never really thought about anything other than you know? Werewolf stuff.”

“(Y/N), he keeps a stupid little calendar book and he marks off the days you’ve been gone, he carries that latter you gave him everywhere and when he hears a dog howl he gets all excited hoping it’s you.”

You furrowed your brows a little.

“He is madly in love with you, just go see him. Go talk to him, I mean he’s Giles, he’s nothing but understanding.”

“He has to be since he’s the watcher of a heathen like you.”

“Hey! I’m trying to be helpful here!”

You grinned a little.

“Get your werewolf ass out of here and find him.”

You raised your hands.

“Alright, okay I’m going. I’m going. Safe hunting.”

“Good luck!”

You left, and wondered the streets again, thinking about the conversation you had just had.

It had given you some perspective at least, but you were still slightly conflicted.

Then you stopped, looking at the sweater you wearing and smiled a little to yourself.

The little reminder of Giles you had stolen when you had run off.

You made your way back to the shop to see it was closed, and you knocked on the door, waiting for a response.

When one didn’t come, you began to wonder away, and you made your way towards his house.

You had missed this, the weird town teeming with supernatural. The people. Your weird band of misfits that you seemed to have adopted as your own family.

But most importantly you missed Giles.

While you were running around in the wild hunting down the people who had hurt him.

It made you realise you couldn’t picture a future without the man in it, he had just stumbled unto your life literally with him walking into you while he was reading.

Since then he was stuck on your mind, and your fates intertwined together, getting all tangled and twisted.

You didn’t want a life without him, no amount of running around freely, no amount of werewolf perks or anything would change that.

Everything was clear now.

Your walk started slow, then turned into a jog which turned into an all out sprint.

You jumped on to cars to cross the street, jumping on to someone’s roof, you began using that as a way to get there faster.

And it was.

You jumped down at his door and you knocked a few times, bouncing on the balls of your feet.

He didn’t answer fast enough so you tried the handle, finding it unlocked you walked in and he poked his was walking down the stairs.

“You know leaving your door unlocked isn’t safe, any werewolf could just walk in.”

Giles stopped at the bottom of the stairs and stared at you, and you smiled sheepishly.

“(Y/N)… you.. when..?”

Giles walked over, taking your face between his hands and he crashed his lips on to yours,

You grabbed his shirt, leaning up into the kiss, pulling him closer.

Pulled yourself away and he smiled softly as you.

“You came back…”

“I said I would, right?” You asked softly.

Laughing slightly, Giles nodded his head, pressing a quick kiss to your lips before he moved away.

“Though word of advise, you do have a smell.”

You slapped his arm and moved away.

“Sorry Rupert showers aren’t actually common in the forests. Though I really want a shower so I’m taking yours then we can talk.”

“I’ll get you some clothes.”

You followed Giles upstairs and he got your sweater for you and some sweatpants, handing them over and you wondered to the shower.

You got out and made your way back down the stairs, dropping yourself on to the couch.

“I’ve missed couches and showers.”

Giles chuckled, and you turned around to look at him in the kitchen.

“Well, it’s good to see you’ve missed the important things.”

You grinned at him.

Giles looked at you, offering you a small smile before he looked away and his smile fell.

You jumped over the couch, walking into the kitchen, leaning against the doorway.

“Rupert?”

“Why did you run away…?”

You sighed, turning your gaze away to the floor instead.

“To be completely honest, I was scared, I was confused.”

Giles turned to look at you.

“About what?”

“About everything.. a.. about us..”

You walked over to the counter and jumped on it, swinging looking at your hands.

“My whole life I’ve always been taught that my whole life was to run a pack, rule over them, and I didn’t want that, so I passed the role on. Because I did that people got hurt, then hunters came here and they hurt you all, then there’s.. there’s you..”

“Me?”

“You make me feel normal, cared for. I’ve never had something… someone like you I guess.”

Giles turned fully around to look at you, crossing his arms over his chest.

“You are my everything, you’re my light in the dark, you’re the hand that guides me. I left and all I could think about was running back here, running back to you. I was scared about the future, my future, but I realised I can’t tell what it’ll hold, but I know I want you in it.”

You sighed again.

“It’s clear, I am meant to be wherever you are, I want to be wherever you are Rupert. And I promise I’ll always come running back to you. I want a future with you… if you want that…”

Giles took your hands in his and you looked up at him.

He wore a gentle smile, and he gave your hands a gentle squeeze.

“I want you in it, every hour and every minute.” He whispered.

“Really?”

“You gave me no choice but to love you my dear…”

He leant down, pressing his forehead against yours, you could feel his breath on your lips.

You leant up, connecting them and he smiled into it.

It was a gentle kiss, soft, and warm, pouring everything from the months you were gone into it.

When he pulled away you frowned, resting your head in his chest instead making him chuckle.

He placed his hand on the back of your head, gently messaging your scalp, and you wrapped your arms around his torso.

“So, is there anything werewolf wise I should know?”

You looked up at him a little confused.

“Like what?”

“Well, how tall are you like that? Triggers? Do you control it? That sort of stuff.”

You hummed a little, patting his chest to him him move back and you jumped down, walking into the living room.

“This might be easier outside.”

So you took him out there and you stood on the steps, with a leap you jumped and changed, paws hitting the ground and Giles took a step back.

You stretched, and stood up, wondering over to him, eyes connecting with his.

“Well.. I uh.. I would safely say large..”

He reached out and hesitated.

“May I?”

You sat down, letting him place his hand on your head, smoothing his hand over your hair and you locked eyes with him.

He saw your tail swish a little bit which made him chuckle.

“May you turn back?”

You moved away, changing back and you walked over to him, wrapping your arms around his shoulders.

“Well I can’t say I have ever uh.. ever had a relationship with a werewolf before.”

“There’s always a first try?” You grinned.

“Well I’m glad, now come inside it’s cold and I.. I understand you may not get cold but well.. it’s cold.”

Giles lead you back inside and you sat down on the couch with him next to you, turning on the tv and he picked up a book while you flicked through the channels.

You noticed him shiver and you shuffled over, moving his arm so you could tuck yourself into his side and he wrapped his arm around your waist.

He looked away from his book at you.

“Are you cold?” He asked.

You looked up.

“No, but you are.”

“What..? How did you know?”

“I just know these things.”

You yawned, and stretched yourself out, and he adjusted himself so you could lay on his chest, and he covered the pair of you with a blanket.

Giles set his book aside, placing a hand on your back.

“(Y/N)?”

You hummed a little.

“You.. you won’t just runaway again will you?”

“No, unfortunately for you.”

He chuckled, running a hand up and down your back.

“Well, I suppose I consider myself rather fortunate then.”

He tightened his hold on you and you smiled, closing your eyes as you listened to the sound of his heartbeat.

This was all you had ever wanted, something exactly like this and you didn’t want to run away from it again.

You felt safe, and loved, and for once you had somebody to call your own, somebody who really loved you for you.

And when he planted a gentle kiss to your head all you could do was beam a little bit more.

You tucked your head under his chin, and you closed your eyes while he kicked his legs on to the couch, resting his chin on your head as he did the same thing.

Right now was all that mattered, you in his arms, not going anywhere anytime soon

My time with ‘Angel the Series’ is officially over. I will not be continuing watching the show from this point onwards because I’ve just watched something that shocked, angered and revolted me all at the same time that I almost projectile vomited. And no I will not elaborate on why or how. The tags will clue you in. It’s too NSFW to write about in the main post. But god…

How this got passed The WB censors is beyond me.

This was the last straw. Enough is e-fucking-nough!

I did want to watch Season 5 but I just can’t continue.

Not after seeing that. Experiencing that. I cannot.

This is worse than Willow and Tara, Spike and Buffy, Faith and Riley. It’s even worse than Buffy and Angel.

Network TV greenlit this for production and aired it in primetime hours. This could have destroyed the actors’ careers completely. Probably most likely did. ‘Angel the Series’ had a 9PM slot on a weekday so they would have likely avoided young children watching when it was a school night most nights. But my god… to show something like that in primetime is just wrong. Especially for a TV network like The WB.

Lullaby 'Cross The Void

She could throttle that boy!

He promised. He swore to her on the stars themselves not to breathe a word of what she almost did that night. She thought he understood her pain, her confusion, how demons can throw strings 'pon a person's mind and puppet them to do what they never thought they were capable of.

That had been her moment of madness. Her greatest shame. Silver was never supposed to know. T'weren't necessary for her to.

Just to hurt. T'is all he'd wanted to do, to win their silly spat.

As soon as that ragamuffin gets sucked off, she will slam that dull head of his with her own till it doth crack like a goose egg. For the first time since she arrived in this land, she misses her fire and smoke. She misses having something to channel her rage into. Not that she'd ever had cause to be this angry since.

"Not to play savage advocate, love...But looks like 'e regrets his words to her, same as you regret nearly burnin' the child." Annie reasoned after watching Mary shout abuse at the image of Robin in the waterfall for almost an hour.

"I care not! Let him wallow in his shame! My little'en be sufferin' and the one I did rely on most to care for her in my absence hath wounded her beyond repair." She responds, tears of fury pricking her eyes; "Now she casts herself out, all alone. My darling girl. Be there no one to give hers succour?"

Wiping her soot-free face, she reached her hand to stroke across the vertical water's surface, over the image of Silver crying on that log, in the middle of the woods. How cold she does look, even for one not able to feel the chill of the Autumn night. Mary's arms ache to wrap themselves around the child and hold her tight, take all the pain away.

No matter how loud she explains herself to the waterfall, how much she tries to convey that her sinful attempt was never about Silver herself, it will be for nothing. Her words, her love, none of it can reach her.

Sometimes she wonders if this window into the Before World is more of a curse than a blessing.

"Where be the other little'en?" She asks Annie.

"Still on that cliff. The sky doth darken from her misery." The Puritan sighed, "Not sure my efforts to comfort her brought much fruit."

"The potion of citrus and anxiety did not raise her spirits?"

"Not even a smile. But she did drink it. And she yet to throw herself over the edge."

"Perhaps it be best she does. Then she may teach herself to fly." Mary smiled, "T'is hard for any soul to be morose when soaring on the winds."

"Maybe wes can go flying later on? You is need of cheering too, my love." Annie reached to stroke her hair behind the taller woman's ear.

The temptation was there. Maybe they could try to convince little Amy to come with them.

Then her eyes fell back to the waterfall. To Silver.

Silver without her Amy. Without Robin.

How could she abandon her too? It didn't matter if she wasn't aware of her presence. If her vigil brought even a smidgen of comfort to the girl, then she had to stay.

"But you say she also let's them seduce her?"

"Well...one or two. Three if you count that thing with Dracula." The Pagan shrugged; "Girls love a bad boy. Or girl. Like, uhm...Wuthering Heights? Or Jane Eyre?"

"Oooh, I do recall her Ladyship watchin' them on the little box!"

"Well it's kinda like that, but the men are vampires and the women fight more. I doubt Heather will be buying the dvd set any time soon. Shame, I think you'd like it." She giggled, jumping off the final rock, "Especially Willow."

"She be a tree?"

"No!" Silver chortled, "She's a good witch, like me! And she has a girlfriend, Tara. Those two influenced little me a lot growing up as you can tell."

"Ooh, sounds like a thrillin' romp."

Mary could listen to the child talk about her favorite stories from the telly, as well as the myths about her favorite heathen gods, for hours on end.

The girl did always seem to brighten at any chance to chatter about her favorite things to anyone who listened. Many of the others in the big house had no patience for rambling, as Mary herself knew, so she was happy to indulge their newest ghost.

Birds began to chirp in the treetops as they awoke, though the sky remained dark. Mary had always been one of the first to wake, a habit from her farming life she'd never been able to shake. Where once she would wander the land alone, the girl is always up and abouts at all hours during her cycle.

"Next time I'll tell you about Charmed. Not as good as Buffy but still lots of cool witches defeating mostly blokes." Silver promised.

"Do all your favorite tales involve witches?"

"Uhmm...Not always. I mean there's Friends. But I suppose that has Phoebe and she's kinda witchy." The Pagan blushed; "Guess I am kinda a one track mind."

"Nothin' be wrong with that, sweetling. You has your good witches, I has my potatoes." The two shared a laugh at that.

Silver's eyes moved to a set of pale weeds close to the bank.

"Aww, look at all those dandelions. I wonder if ghosts can make wishes on them."

"Ain't stopped me from tryin' all these years." Mary confessed, taking the girls hand.

They knelt down together and tried to blow the seeds into the air.

"Oooh, Is think wes almost doing it, little'en!" Mary cooed as a couple of the seeds began to float off into the air.

"Pretty sure that's the wind."

"Ah, what if we is the wind. Ain't that what you said you thought we became 'pon death? One with Mother Nature."

"Yeah...You were listening to that?"

"'Course I was, silly." Mary reached to ruffle the top of the girl's hair; ""Cor, what I'd give to have a brush to sort that barnet of yours out, it be as untidy as Robin's."

"Shut up, it's not that bad!" Silver ducked, though her cheeks reddened at the offer.

Mary suspected, with a twist of her gut, the child had never been sat upon her mother's knee to be groomed with much tenderness.

"What did you wish for?" Asked Silver.

"Oh, you knows better than to ask someone's to utter that, darlin'." Mary said with a poke to her nose.

"Was it about Annie?"

"Oh, I should never have revealed her to you. Nosy little nymph that you be."

They pushed themselves up to their feet. Silver grinned and began to twirl, humming some modern melody, letting the floating dandelion seeds hover around her. Mary watched her with a besotted smile. The little witchling, dancing among scattered wishes.

"I wished to find someone like that. Don't think there's any harm in saying that, if the Goddess wants it to happen for me." Silver smiled, contently.

"She better or Is be havin' words. Yous deserve to find your Annie, little'en."

The girl shone like the dawn, just as said light began to pierce the early morning sky.

Then Silver's feet twisted beneath her and she fell.

"Shit!"

"Silver?" Mary knelt down, reaching for the teenager; "What ails thee, pet?"

The girl struggled to lift her head, "Nearly coma time. Must have lost track..."

"Oh!"

Mary had not witnessed the transition between Silver waking to her falling under her curse before. It was typically Robin at her side, Robin who carried her to her sleeping spot in the woods. But the caveman was currently resting soundly on the living room floor after he and Patrick watched a marathon of those movies left on the box, about the apes taking over the world.

She was surprised by how weak the child now looked, her energy sapped in but the blink of an eye. The way her skin turned pale and she struggled to lift her limbs, t'was as if she be struck down with consumption, without the hacking cough.

"How long do you has left with us?" Mary asked.

"...Usually 'bout twenty minutes. 'Till the sun properly shows itself." She explained, followed by a yawn.

"Can ye walk?"

The girl answered by trying to test that for herself. She barely propped herself on one knee before crumbling like a paper doll again.

"Hehehe...nope."

Mary tutted; "How doth it feel?"

She shrugged, head listing to one side; "Bit like the flu. My joints go all stiff and sore when I try to move. And my head weighs a ton. S'like the batteries in my body have run out."

"Ey?"

"Uhm....Like the stream has gone dry and there's nothing to spin the water wheel?" She tried again.

"Ah! I sees." Mary nodded, then stroked the girl's hair; "Oh your poor, sweet thing. I hads no idea. I always assumed it were but a sudden fainting before you slept?"

"That would be better." Silver huffed.

She began to curl forward upon the grass.

"Oh, little one. You cants sleep here in the field, the Ladyships gardener will trample thee." Mary fussed, running her fingers across Silver's clammy forehead.

"S'fine...Just fetch Robin when he gets up, he'll move me...." the girl said, eyelids fluttering.

"Tush and flops! I don'ts need no silly boy to help me tends to thee!"

"What you-?"

Mary tucked her arms beneath the girl and lifted her up as she rose, securing her against her front. The child let out a brief sound of surprise before sliding her arms around Mary's neck to help.

"Wow...Julian was right. You are freakishly strong." Silver smiled, eyes glinting, impressed.

"Life of toiling the land since I were old enough to walk, little'en." She explained as she began walking towards the woods; "Skinny thing like you do weigh no more than a newborn lamb."

"Thanks!" The girl snorted. She yawned, leaning her head against the woman's shoulder.

Mary carried the child with relative ease towards the trees, following the trail of cornflowers towards the mound which the girl had claimed as her resting spot.

"Yous sure I cants convince thee to rest in the big house? There be plenty of free rooms for your picking."

"You say this every month....Thanks for the offer, but m'fine out here...."

"Suit yourself. Strange little urchin."

Mary clicked her tongue as she knelt and laid the young woman atop the mound. She did look oddly comfy as her head fell upon the flowers and she settled amongst them, the sharp pink of her fringe set against the striking blue of the petals.

Sitting beside her, the older woman continued to pick and stroke at her hair, smiling down at her.

"You reminds me of my husband." She confesses, her heart aching a little; "He always loved his fanciful tales and saw the joy in every little thing."

"Did you..." She yawned again, wider this time; "D'you love him?"

She nodded, leaning down on her elbow and resting her head on her hand.

"Greatly so."

"You're lucky. You got...two loves of your life..." the girl smiled, those sapphire eyes growing smaller by the second.

Three, thought Mary, gazing affectionately at the sweet ray of moonlight in her afterlife.

"Close them eyes, little'en. Time to visit your dreamland." She coaxes, smoothing her finger down her cheek, same as she once did to her own baby girl in her crib all them centuries ago.

Silver obeys, resting her eyes, chest slowly rising and falling as she settles.

"G'night..."

"'Nighty night, darling. Rest well." Mary whispers. She then sang as the child drifted off, just as the sun made its appearance over the horizon.

A lullaby of old English terms of endearment, barely even recognisable to modern ears. But one her mother had sung to her in her cradle, and her mother before hers, going back possibly to Eve herself, or so Mary had been raised to believe.

It's many hours before she leaves the child's side. Robin appears shortly after eight, looking fretful and guilty for having overslept, but relieved when he finds Mary close to his Moonah Girl, still stroking her hair and gazing at her with pure devotion.

All those doubts and fears and prejudices that had caused her to nearly do the unthinkable all those months before, now felt like a bad dream, barely worth remembering.

And that's how it was supposed to stay.

Mary still sings. Any time she looks in on her girl through the magic waters and sees her sleeping - which is most of the time - she sings her mother's lullaby.

"May the winters pass, may night turn to day,

For I do miss thee, gentle heart,

All these many miles away..."

It's the third night of the full moon, back in that world at least. There are many glorious moons in the skies of this land, some silver, others violet or emerald, some as large as Jupiter while others small but dance in circles.

Silver will be falling asleep soon. The dreadful fatigue will pull her under and there will be no loving arms to carry her to bed and see that she's comfy.

A pox on thee, Robin. Sort that filthy head out and get to the girl's side with haste! Fix this!

He promised. He swore to her...

Mary chokes out a sob. In troth, it were not merely Robin she were vexed with. The blame lay at her door too. Had she been honest with the child, had she confessed to her sins when she'd been present, this would not be happening. And she'd have had a chance to explain herself. Silver would at least be aware of all the facts instead of drowning in doubt and rejection as she did now.

But Mary had been a coward. Scardy cat. Once she'd let Silver into her heart, found the daughter she thought she'd never have again, she'd been so terrified of losing her again. As she had her and John's firstborn. As she'd lost Annie.

Forgive me, I beg. Forgive me.

Silver's tears were as much on her hands as Robin's. Except he had a chance to atone where she did not. At least, not until her darling girl was finally sucked off.

"I is here, little'en. I's always here." She sighed, watching the girl weep alone.

Except...

She was no longer alone. There was someone else with her now. Someone...sat with her on the log, cradling her sleeping form on his lap, bundling her in a thick red cloak.

Body Bit?

He had come to tend to her? Not Robin? Mary watched with awe as his hand stroked the girl's hair as she curled into him, eyes shut, black marks staining her cheeks from all the crying.

Oh. Was he mistaking her for his own little'en? Did the husk not understand...?

They had traded daughters, it seemed.

Whether conscious of it or not, he was caring for her little'en now. Mary sniffed and got to her feet, smoothing down her dress. Annie had already gone back to check on Amy. T'was time that Mary joined her.

She voiced a promise to Silver through the water to return soon. But her presence not be of use to her now. She's not leaving her child alone. In the body's arms, she'd be safe.

And the last thing Silver would want is for her dear companion to feel as lost and lonely as she.

buffy/faith - toxic yuri i will always love you. faith is buffy's shadow self, an embodiment of all of buffy's repressed desires. they want each other so bad and they try to kill each other about it. whats not to love about this relationship

buffy/spike - still toxic, not yuri. he's her little doggy. he's so in love with her that he'll do anything to make her happy. he has no concept of boundaries and he blatantly disregards hers. she makes him want to be better. she uses him as a sex toy and a punching bag because she knows he won't complain about it. they're an embarrassing freak couple (affectionate AND derogatory) and theyre terrible to each other

willow & xander - his love for her saved the world. i dunno what else to say about this. the yellow crayon scene hits me right in the heart every time.

tara/willow - i'll be honest, if not for willow being a contender for World's Worst Partner, tillow wouldn't have made this list, because cute sweet fluffy no-drama romance isn't all that interesting to me. luckily, willow fucking sucks (affectionate)

Xander x Spike

The aftermath of Xander and Spike's... confrontation, how things played out differently in the finale of season 6.

Xander caught himself running his fingers over the fading mark on his neck. A habit which he had formed since the wound had been inflicted upon him.

In moments where his thoughts would get away from him, his fingers would drift up to his neck and slowly circle the now faded pink bite marks. Spike had never reappeared after dumping Xander on the porch of the Summers’ house. Thankfully that gave him the freedom to concoct what ever story he’d liked without having to worry about lining up the details with the vampire. Or worse yet, telling the truth. He’d told his group of concerned friends that a bunch of vampires jumped the pair in the alley and Spike was forgiving enough to save Xander, even after dealing him a few solid blows moments earlier, and leave him somewhere safe.

Buffy wondered why Spike didn’t stick around to make sure that Xander was alright, but when he reminded her of the fight that had broken out mere moments before, she understood.

Unsure why he felt the need to defend Spike, to make him look like the good guy in this story. Xander knew he couldn’t exactly tell the truth. Not now, not like this. It would be too messy, raise too many questions. Mostly it would just make the night’s events real, permanent, like the wound on his neck.

The girls had all been kind enough to back off, believe his story without much question and let him process. Dawn had given him a glass of water and some chocolate when he awoke.

"For the blood loss," she smiled hopefully. "And the comforting factor."

Willow had gently removed his shoes and his jacket from his battered form. Buffy had thrown a blanket over him and Tara was burning some healing incense. They were surprised of course, and a bit confused. Normally, Xander would be pissed, ready to hunt down the vampires who had attacked him. Dismissing Spike even after he had saved his life, excusing his mercy as a way to get to Buffy. But they knew something was off when he seemed distant. He was all mumbles and glassy eyes.

Willow had departed from their circle around the couch to fetch some medical supplies from the bathroom upstairs. As she opened the cabinet under the sink, the front door of the Summers’ home burst open. There was yelling and then… Gunfire. Five shots.

Bang.

Bang.

Bang. Bang.

Bang.

By the time she had reached the bottom of the stairs she caught a glimpse of the familiar black van speeding away. When she turned towards the couch, she saw her friends collapsed into a heap. Blood painting the walls and soaking into the carpet.

What happened next was a flurry of magicks and grief and rage. Jonathan and Andrew had escaped the Witch’s fury but Warren was not so lucky. It was Xander who had managed to pull his childhood friend from the brink.

When he saw the gun, he dove in front of the girls to protect them. The first bullet caught him in the shoulder. Dawn had been hit in the leg, Buffy in the chest and Tara in the stomach.

Willow had seen, thought she had seen, her friends murdered. Her family ripped away from her in an instant. But when Xander had caught up to her, wobbly and with one arm in a sling he talked her down. They’d all be fine. He’d joked about how she needed a bullet wound to match theirs.

Then, Giles had arrived from England unexpectedly. Willow’s outpouring of dark magic had alerted a local coven who had sent him. He took Willow back to that coven with him, kicking himself for leaving them so selfishly. Determined to see the girl regain control.

Tara joined Willow at the coven when she was healed up well enough to travel. She felt responsible for pushing Willow to quit cold turkey instead of helping her regain control. They spent their days with the coven meditating and communing with the Earth. Deepening their understanding of their power.

That left Buffy, Xander and Dawn in Sunnydale to recover and pick up the pieces of their shattered group. Buffy recovered the quickest, of course, mortal wounds and being close to death were no stranger to a Slayer. Especially Buffy.

Xander was almost grateful for the distraction, how it took his mind away from alleys and bleach blond vampires. Nobody had mentioned the night they found him on the porch since. He threw his energy into Dawn and Buffy, fixing up their house, dropping Dawn off to school, patrolling, grocery shopping. What ever he could do, he was always there for them. Though he still had trouble looking Buffy in the eye.
