These are plants shown in Dragon Age but aren't named in universe, just in their model files or through identification of the textures. Since most filler plant textures are just that of real world plants.

**NOTE:** When I mention they are not the known name of any plant, this comes with the caveat of being popular common names. Common names are highly variable and inconsistent. They depend on regional knowledge and association. Some travel farther than others. Common names are also not reliable identifiers.

Acacia: Black Wood ~ Note: Black Wood is a type of acacia. Both acacia and black wood are named assets.

Artichoke ~ Note: Identification comes from asset name, the artichoke flower is used as ornamentation of a box.

Banyan Tree

Boxwood ~ A type of shrub, identification comes from asset name.

Bradford Pear ~ Their fruits are edible, however their flowers are known to emit a smell akin to rotting meat. Identification comes from asset name.

Calla Lily ~ Note: Not named but identified by the texture used. It is seen in Val Royeaux planters.

Cattail ~ Note: Seen through out DAO and DAI, identification comes from asset name.

Coleus ~ Note: Not named but identified by the texture used. It is seen in Val Royeaux planters and in the Frostback Basin.

Crape Myrtle

Cypress: Italian Cypress, Topiary Cypress ~ Note: In terms of the Italian Cypress, in world it wouldl likely be called the "Antivan Cypress" given that Antiva is pulling from Italian culture, food, environments, and other inspirational elements. Cypress is a plant that is named in canon.

Daikon Radish ~ Note: Found on Dennet's farm, identification comes from asset name.

Elephant Ear ~ Note: Foliage found in the Frostback Basin, identification comes from asset name.

Fade Berry

Fern: Red Fern, Sword Fern ~ Note: The red fern isn't a real plant and therefore can be considered unique to Thedas. In contrast the sword fern is a real plant. Identification comes from the asset name for both of these ferns.

Forest Clover

Foxleaf ~ Note: This is another plant that is not real, no plant has this common name as far as I could find.

Gasbloom ~ Note: Seen in the Arbor Wilds, the Frostback Basin some elven ruins, and the elven ruins of multiplayer levels. Their identification comes from the asset name. There are two versions of the texture the "fixed" version is used in JoH dlc and thus explains the difference in appearance. This is not the name of a known mushroom.

Hero Tree

Palm: Curly Palm, Fan Palm ~ Note: Both palms are seen in the Frostback Basin, both are identified by their named assets.

Pear Cactus ~ Note: Found in the Frostback Basin, identification comes from the asset name.

Pine: Chir Pine

Ponga Tree ~ Note: Also known as the 'Tree Fern'. This is the tree you see in Val Royeaux garden as coming from Par Vollen, and throughout the Arbor Wilds.

Redwood ~ Note: Identified by the name of the file asset. Found in the Winter Palace, Exalted Plains, and on multiplayer maps.

Waterweed ~ Note: In real life this is an entire genus not one particular plant. Though the six plants in this genus do share the common name of waterweed.

Additional Notes and Trivia

Ironwood - Unclear if this is an alternative name, the actual name of the plant, or both.

Morel - This mushroom is inferred due to the existence of Blighted Morel. However it is not explicitly specified there is a non-blighted morel.

Sponge Root - Though canonical as it is mentioned and shown in World of Thedas vol. 2 on pg. 138 with a collection of deep mushroom and surface mushroom illustrations. This mushroom was cut twice from Inquisition. It was cut from the base game as a craftable, it had a much different appearance from its final design, and then it was cut again from Trespasser. It does however still make an appearance in Inquisition as the inventory icon for Crystal Grace.

Unnamed Glowing Mushroom Is mentioned in multiplayer when there are two Lukas playing.

Unnamed Mushroom These brown mushrooms are seen in the Fallow Mire and the Frostback Basin. They are shown in two different sizes ranging from shorter than a dwarf to taller than one.

There is one unlisted mushroom, its assets is named "red mushroom" and thus is identified by textures. These is not a canon name but is included for completeness. Amanita Muscaria: More commonly know as fly agaric or fly amanita, the red top with white spots is an iconic in its imagery. You will find large swaths of these mushrooms in the Frostback Basin. Their assets is named "Red Mushroom".

Winterberry is a real plant. However, from what we see in DA2, it does not the same as the plant we have in the real world, just a shared common name.

Wormroot is another real plant name. However, due to the description in The Calling, it does not seem to be the same plant. In The Calling it is used to treat the venom of a giant spider. The real world plant is used to treat parasites in the gut and does not seem to hold any shared uses in folk lore, folk medicine, or western medicine practices.

Clementine: Clementine would close her eyes and audibly sigh in frustration. It had been hours. Out of irritation and desperation, she stood, wandered over to Y/N’s bed, and flicked their forehead bitterly. Y/N jumped awake, gasping and smacking their forehead in shock. “Keep it down.” Was all Clementine said before turning and heading back to her bunk. Y/N simply glared at her for ruining their beauty sleep.

Marlon: Marlon would sit upright in bed, his hands pressed in thought to hisnmouth, his elbows resting against his knees. He was plotting. He needed a lasting way to ensure this problem didn’t happen again. He needed his sleep. Finally, in an hour's time, Y/N woke up and rolled over with Mitch nowhere to be found. Opening the door the following morning, /N spotted him asleep on the hallway floor, a sleeping bag draped around him. How over-dramatic.

Louis: Louis would stare at the ceiling, glaring, regretting not rooming with Marlon or Mitch. Even though they were interesting to room with, at least he could sleep when they were around. Finally, he sat up at the edge of his bed, staring at Y/N, squinting and scowling, plotting what he could do. He drew closer and placed his hands together, mock-praying for them to be quiet. Slowly coming to, Y/N groaned and rolled over. “Shut up, Louis.” Louis’ jaw dropped. “I don’t think I’m the one that should be hearing that,” he scoffed.

Violet: Violet would lay still and silent in bed, debating her plan. Finally, she’d swing her feet over the edge, grab one of her pillows, and wander up to Y/N’s bedside. Without hesitation, she would repeatedly begin smacking them with her pillow. She used all the energy she could muster having barely slept. Y/N yelped and attempted to fight back, using their arms as shields. “Keep it down, would ya?” She scoffed teasingly through a laugh. Y/N chuckled too, amused by her way of announcing their snoring problem/. “Thanks, Violet.” “Thank me by shutting up,” she said, again laughing as she curled back into her own bed.

Mitch: Mitch ground before standing, wandering over to Y/N’s bedside, and shoving them. Maybe he did so too aggressively, because Y/N smacked their face against the wall of their bedroom. Stunned, Mitch smacked a hand over his mouth. “Ow!” Y/N ground,slowly rolling over. “What the hell, Mitch?” “It was an accident,” he quickly recovered, offering a meek smile, “But, if the snoring keeps up, next time, it won’t be.” Y/N gulped, then curled back under the covers, praying their face would be spared.

Willy: Willy would always frown, irritated beyond belief at his inability to sleep. Without much thought, Willy grabbed one of his willows and wandered over to Y/.N’s bed, smacking the pillow on top of their face and holding it there. It wasn’t until Y/N shot upright did he stop. “That’s what’s going to happen to you if you don’t keep it down at night.” “I can’t help it!” Y/N pleaded, groggy and terrified from the ordeal. Willy groaned and flopped himself back into his bed. “I’m getting a new roomie tomorrow.” Y/N scoffed, feigning offense. As if they would care. A room all to themselves? Nice.

Aasim: Aasim tapped Y/N’s shoulder, watching as they slowly began to come to. “Hey, dude,” he said softly, not wanting to startle them awake abruptly. “Your snoring is crazy loud. Did you know you snored?” Noticing the flush in their cheeks, Aasim assumed not. “Here,” he said, adjusting the pillows behind their neck. “My Dad used to snore badly when I was a kid. I know how to help,” after adjusting he smiled their way and wandered back to his bed. “Maybe you’ll Also get a better sleep now,” Aasim teased, hoping they weren’t too mortified. Luckily for both of them, they weren’t. Aasim had a way of making people feel comforted and non-judged.

Ruby: Ruby would gently wander to their bedside, rubbing their arm and shaking their shoulder to wake them. “Y/N?” She asked, watching as they slowly regained the concept of reality. “You’re being a bit loud,” R7uby said, cheeks red, praying she wasn’t embarrassing them. “Are you able to stop, or should I go sleep somewhere else?” She tried her best to explain she wasn’t upset, just wanted both of them to be comfortable and well-rested. Quietly, she excluded herself to sleep in the library, pillow and blankets in her arms, leaving Y/N to continue to sleep in peace.

Tenn: Tenn hated the snoring and adjusted his sleep schedule accordingly. Whenever Y/N was sleeping, he was drawing, writing, or reading, and whenever Y/N was awake, that’s when Tenn would rest early in the evening and early in the morning. He told only who needed to know as to why. Toward Y/N, he just said he had trouble sleeping if he wasn’t alone. At least it wasn’t a total lie. It was just to spare their feelings.

Omar: Omar would stare blankly at the ceiling, in pure disbelief that this was happening to him. He normally could sleep through almost anything, but not Y/N. No wonder he was the only one originally willing to room with them. The next day, groggily, Omar wandered up to Marlon with heavy bags under his eyes. He forced a smile Y/N’s way , then turned to the blonde seriously. “I am begging you for a room change. And don’t tell Y/N why. They’ll be embarrassed.”

Brody: Brody wouldn’t say a word. She normally was a light sleeper - as she frequented having nightmares as a kid - and normally didn’t mind the snoring as she was awake anyways. But when she wanted to sleep? There wasn’t a worse place to be. She often stuffed her head between two pillows and in the morning, when asked with concern by YN, Brody - avoiding confrontation - smiled. “I just, uh, like to keep my head warm,” she lied. She didn’t want them to feel bad. She could find another way around the problem. Or maybe she could just deal with it. For life. All to avoid conflict.

"I tried to use a richer chocolate for the truffle so it didn't compete too much with the subtle sweetness of the coconut. I decided to caramelize the apples for the tart and redid the filling. I decided to take off the lavender for the white tea macaron. I thought it might have been too many flavors are once." Is stammering a bit.

Summary: being the elders’ cherished tsyeym and Jake’s favourite had it’s perks, though dealing with Lo’ak pushing your buttons was surely Eywa’s scheme.

Remnants of light lingered upon your moonlit frame, the Eclipse was enthralling. Readjusting the grip over the quiver equipped onto your fluorescent banshee soul-sister, a few braids of hair followed to blow back upon the gale.

Not far behind was Lo’ak tailing you on his Ikran. Sunset riding had become your thing since he half-heartedly taught you how to ride, through the early years. Partly because your fearless nature almost always meant trouble. Though you couldn’t help being careless, flying about and beyond clouds cleared considerable amounts of headspace. You were daydreaming about him, and not in a way friends would. Still, the boy was provoking at best.

With most relatives having withered away along the Pandoran War, Neytiri took you under her wing as family would. Once in a blue moon, she’d wistfully recite the tales of Tey’loran, your late mother. She was said to be a strategic stronghold to the clan’s fortress, and an accomplished huntress at that. You inherited of her fierce glazing features, and a taste for short-lived thrills.

Growing up, a subtly established lineament was unspokenly settled, which distanced you from other female Na’vi. Sparring with Neteyam, and getting sullied in dirt playing with little Tuk was more familiar than indulging in girls your age whispering folk gossip. Their openly indiscreet stares never went unnoticed, and it was frankly eating away at your nerves. They would always swiftly turn away, after getting caught that is. Flagrantly, without an ounce of shame.

This ostracism was upsetting, even Jake took notice of it upon supper one evening (under the familial tsrul). Except his inquiries were briskly set aside, due to an urgent matter raised by the military council requiring his attention. It was fine, you weren’t seeking attention on purpose in the first place. Still, the subtle comments of “Stuck-up” or “Slut” lingered long, like chimes in your head.

Finally snapping out of trance, you realised Lo’ak was out of sight and no longer visible through the dark welkin. Obscurity engulfed Pandora’s iridescent fauna, and all nights of life began flickering in phosphorescence. Landing Tse’yeh (your Ikran familiar) onto the adjacent sky archipelago which also turned out to be part of the floating Hallelujah mountains, you searched the area for signs of him.

It would be common finding male Na’vi lurking around the Tree of Souls, meeting their lovers in sheer secrecy. Although you were here for another incentive. Delving in search further on into the illuminated forest, each tread brought you closer towards the sacred Willow. Lo’ak wasn’t the type to find interest in spirit guides. Hell, he’d prefer swinging his bow to attempt imitating Neteyam anytime over prioritising ceremonial duties. Yet, since the day you witnessed his torso covered in woodsprites, it hadn’t been the same.

As you were approaching the floating isle’s core, your stomach churned, a recurrent gut feeling indicating that something wasn’t quite right. The whole area emanated of something eerie, though you were too late in catching onto it. A set of large hands pulled you back hastily to a halt. A pungent smell all too familiar coated the frisk air surrounding your truffle. Imploring Eywa you wished it wasn’t who you guessed to be looming behind. However this time, you had to fend for yourself.

“Lay’etsi” you almost half-whispered. He was one of Lo’ak’s close riding mates (that had gradually grown enthralled by you). Despite rejecting several courting advances, it never clicked that he was coming off as too overwhelming and an overall pushy guy.

“Ma hi’i Leiya. I’ve finally caught you!” You felt suffocated in his presence and was about to lash out when he flashed a coy smirk, tightening the grip on your frail waist. Before you could properly react, Laytsi caught up his quick fingers through your loincloth, which made you gasp in bewilderment.

“Release me, that’s a warning.” Your breath hitched slightly at the unwelcomed touch, knuckles whitening. It usually took you more riling up to loose temper, yet this time your instincts acted up before even thinking twice. In one swift motion, you had groped the lad and thrown him over just like how Jake had taught you. This pulled a rather sharp gasp out of the now grounded boy. Following the chain of brief events, calling him bewildered would be a kick-ass understatement.

However, admiring the sight at your feet (of that Skxawng scurrying away) you noticed something far more concerning. Taking a hold of the object that gathered your interest, realisation slowly hit. It was one of Lo’ak signature arrows that you had previously carved out for him, the beads and coloured feathers were an apparent indicator of that truth.

Instantly, a ruffling in the elevated branches above your head was heard. Indeed you weren’t wrong, there he crouched on a high tree, just a little late to the scene.

“You didn’t have to help me…” awkwardly spitting out as you rubbed your neck slightly

“Says the reckless snumìna! Rahh, I’m gonna kill that skxawng”

The ride home was a silent one. You felt your friend’s mood sour, making no effort whatsoever to break the ice. Walking on eggshells was not your forté, and in all fairness you should’ve been mad in his stead for leaving in the first place. But to your astonishment, he spoke up in an honest tone of voice that held some degree of sincerity

“You have no idea- I thought he could’ve claimed you-”

“Why did you suddenly disappear then?? I can take care of myself just fine in case you’ve forgotten, but still”

This statement visibility has Lo’ak caught off guard. He knew you were strong, but his father’s admonishing words of keeping you safe had plagued his mind ever since you both precipitated out to catch the sunset auroras. Fidgeting with the rim of his Ikran’s harness and giving you another stern look, he jumped off midair to prop himself onto your riding like it was a child’s play.

“Tsahey- Are you out of your mind??” Shifting his weight, you manoeuvred with trouble to keep steady mounting Tse’yeh (noticeably displeased by the extra charge)

“Crazy? Ha, I just might be…”

With that, Lo’ak placed a few sun lilies in the rim of your ear, loosing himself into the sparkling gold of your fizzy eyes. You were a blushing-blabbering mess, unable to predict any of his intentions.

“Where did you- how? And, why-?” Never had Lo’ak indulged in little gestures, all you’ve known of him was merely meaningless teasing. You weren’t ever expecting or prepared for a hearty confession in a million moons worth of time.

“I made a small detour by Mo’ara Valley to find them, but as you guessed someone beat me to the wooing” Thump.

“You do know these flowers have a deep-rooted significance, right?” Thump Thump. Your heart was combusting under blissful pressure, that much fluffing up would do it. Lo’ak made you loose control of your Ikran mid-flight because you were thereafter all over him.

“Yeah, you’re my little flower after all. Always have been ma hi’i syulang”
