Summary: Warrior Gloria 'Ria' Hawke never asked for a lot of things thrown at her in this life. She doesn't like most of them. But meeting Loghain Mac Tir is one of the few for which she's grateful. And for the kinship with him that eventually becomes something more.

Written for a Discord server exchange (organized by the one and only @mxkelsifer) in response to @judithmactir's fantastic prompt. I'm now 110% on board the Hawke/Loghain ship and am already feral for Ria Hawke. I'm so thankful I got the opportunity to explore this relationship! <3

Vivienne: Bastien is dead. I can hardly believe… It was the Wintersend Ball, my first visit to the Imperial Palace. The Circle sent a dozen of us to entertain the nobility. I was in awe of everyone and everything. And then… our eyes met. Bastien spent the entire ball at my side. The dowager tried to have him killed for slighting her, but he didn’t care.

Vivienne: It was… a more innocent time, I suppose. And now he’s gone, and I… I must write to his son Laurent… and his sister will make a terrible fuss if she isn’t informed first. And I’ll need to arrange for the Chantry services. Maker only knows how long that will take.

I am still not coherent over this fantastic gift *flails*. SO MANY FEELINGS. It really captures the struggle Anders faces over how to help Justice, a struggle built up from Justice inhabiting a corpse and templars hating the idea of mages escaping their control to live as Wardens and the all-too-fragile power balance between the Amaranthine Wardens and the Templar Order. And his ultimate decision to merge with his friend makes perfect sense through the build-up written here. Thank you again and again, my friend. <3

Finished Trespasser again yesterday and I'm particularly looking forward to when I pick up this worldstate in Veilguard because the default human female Inquisitor does not look like someone who should be swinging around a seven foot greatsword.

Looking forward to having full body controls to make her look less at home at a Wintersend Ball than with a rugby ball.

Annoyed that I realised once I started putting flesh on the bones that the open waistcoat dealy covered her missing arm but that did save me thinking what to do with it. Two-handed warriors and archer rogues are both going to be interesting to see in Veilguard.
