I'm really glad they didn't drop all the episodes in on go and gave us one month with a sweet intrigue to ponder around, have a good anxiety over what happens next, build some theories and overanalyze scenes while everyone is on the same page. Just let the fandom live for a while instead of die out in a week until everyone moves on to another thing

Philippa: Who signed up for another headacher by highring a master of arms to teach the brat how to fend for himself.... yes.... but at least Sigi gets to handle the joys of paperwork behind it

Triss: So how is that been going then....

Philippa: The boy is just too slow you know.... Sigi bets it has to do with the head, but I think that he just needs to work on the reflaxes more.

I've come up with this idea to speed things up. Every few days we order the servants to smear some fat onto the halls floors, only on the flat parts of course we wouldn't want to overdo it this early, so when he passes it's like standing on thin ice, inevtably eventually the child is going to have to toughen up and stay alert even when it seems like there's no danger present.

Quite a remarcable plan wouldn't you say?

Triss: Phil don't you think all that looking for the enemies in the shadows and traps on all sides is going to make the kid a little bit paranoid?

Philippa: Don't be so dramatic Triss, what could possiblly go wrong?

So I got to that fateful scene that split evelyone’s lives into before and after, and what I got to say corresponds with my previous thoughts. Their first lovemaking happens in secret (Ciri doesn’t even know Radovid was visiting; does anybody know Jaskier and him were seeing each other at all?) and under cover of the night. Aside from absence of the sun there is also no artificial sources of light (no fireplace, no candles etc). So despite the scene having some amount of “butterflies in the stomach” feel it still has vague sinister atmosphere that implies lies and manipulation. If The Witcher team knows what they are doing that might be a sign of upcoming doom. I mean, how hard would it be to light some candles or whatever to create really romatic atmosphere such moments require? But it was decided not to.
