fic idea where aaron gets knocked around at a game and gets amnesia. when people are allowed to see him andrew is the first one inside and the nurse is like "oh, this must be the twin brother." and aaron blinks up at andrew and smiles, no resentment or hurt or shame in his eyes, expression open and trusting because he hears 'twin brother' and thinks 'of course we love each other.'

andrew doesn't know what to do with a brother who doesn't hate him.

thinking about aaron minyard taking a pharmacology class in med school & getting curious & looking into the experimental medication andrew was put on & finding articles about what it did to the people who took it and how it was deemed unhelpful & searching for any first-hand accounts of what it felt like because he knew he would never get them from andrew (and he would never pry into that, would never dig that up) & talking to katelyn about it because he needs someone to know, needs someone to remind him that it wasn’t his fault and he couldn’t have stopped it, and it can’t be nicky, who would only feel even guiltier than aaron & he gets tickets to andrew’s next game just so he has an excuse to visit him and see him face to face and remind himself that there are no drug-induced smiles anymore

In the end I burnt myself out worse than ever pretending to be okay to a place where I gave up on music for the last 4 years

Kinda crazy how after Neil and Andrew kiss for the first time Neil literally thinks to himself that he doesn’t “look at Matt or Nicky differently” which implies that he 1. Thought kissing Andrew once had the potential to immediately turn him gay 2. That how he looked at Kevin wouldn’t be a good marker of this

Like it was literally just one sentence that I honestly don’t think I even caught my first read or two, but makes me pretty sure that Neil had the exact train of thought of “huh I guess I liked kissing Andrew. Does that make me gay? Lemme check” *looks at Nicky* “…hmm no” *looks at Matt* “….still no… ok so I’m definitely not gay for those two…”

like i know of course the games industry is fucked and EA will continue to make money with impunity but i just. continue to wonder how the fuck they operate as a business if they keep getting caught setting people up to fail on purpose. from a logistical standpoint, do you not want to make money on every product you develop so it’s not a “waste of resources”? do you not understand market research and what appeals to consumers?

like we keep hearing about how they wanted to turn the franchise into something else and the fact that it “”failed to meet expectations”” because they couldn’t adequately course-correct, but i am so baffled how those expectations got set in the first place. how are you a video game company who doesn’t understand the concept of a target audience. why do you keep trying to broaden your appeal when time and again it’s proven that just alienates the people you already had. someone who plays overwatch is never going to come to dragon age for the same thing. the devs who work on it are never going to be able to make something comparable because it’s not the kind of thing they’re used to doing. like who let them think this was a reasonable thing to expect would just. happen
