enjoyed wonka. my review is that timothy candelabra was not half insane enough. there was that Wonka Glint in his eye like twice but it felt forced. with paterson joseph and mathew baynton serving absolute evil chocolatier cunt opposite him it was like timmy was in a whole different genre. they were 100% committed, singing about chocolate fraud like if their fan dance wasn't sexy enough their chocolate monopoly would crumble and tim reacted like hwuh? like girl if you are not going to commit to the chocolate is life chocolate is love chocolate runs this damn town genre why are you here!

So I've already decided to adopt a white cat and name him Soul, and a black cat and name her Darkness.

But I watching Wonka (again) today (because there's no such thing as too many times), and now I need two more cats (of any breed or color, but preferably ones that look alike--from the same litter, if possibly). I will name one Noodle, and the other Apple Strudel, and no one can stop me.

Willy Wonka cat

I wondered what Willy Wonka would be like if he were a cat, so here are some sketches of ideas for the cat Wonka.

A lot of 2000s kids movies have this sort of weird, soulless vibe to them that creeps me the fuck out. They feel weird and hollow, like the actors didn't want to be there, and like any moral value the original stories they come from had is nowhere within the product. The live action Grinch, the Mike Meyers Cat in the Hat, and the Tim Burton Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are excellent examples of this. They're painfully odd, awkward, uncomfortable films to watch with none of the fun, humor, or joy of the original renditions or earlier adaptations. Like someone hollowed out the bodies of these stories and put the corpses on like a costume for an hour and a half to two hours and hid the seams with a bunch of CGI that aged horribly. I think the sole exception to this is A Series of Unfortunate Events, which was supposed to feel bleak and uncomfortable in spots and was counterbalanced by humor that actually felt like it worked.

Gift of Love: A Christmas Story, the (1983) [👎🆓🛑] Angela Lansbury och Polly Holliday gör båda bra roller, men filmen är i övrigt intetsägande och sentimentalt dravel.

Harald Handfaste (1947) [👍🔁]

Pang i Bygget (1965) [🆓] Lill-Babs och Thore Skogman. Charmig liten film svår att inte tycka om.

Rosa Pantern, den / Pink Panther, the (1963) [👎] Har säkert sett den som barn. Överreklamerad.

Sinbad and the Caliph of Baghdad / Simbad e il califfo di Bagdad (1973) [🆓] Sinbad utan förstärkning av Harryhausen, går det... Italienarna gör ett godkänt försök.

Super Mario Bros. Filmen / Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023) [👍] Det som roar mig mest är spåren till filmen från 1993 man skönjer.

Wonka (2023) [👍] Jag har sett 4D-bio! Vet inte hur mycket det bidrog till själva filmen (som inte krävde 3D-glasögon f.ö.) men filmen är faktiskt riktigt bra.

Zorro (1975) [🔁🆓]

Det är väl värt att ögna igenom SVT Plays filmutbud denna månad. Om än att någon film säker försvann vid månadsskiftet. T.ex. Pang i Bygget som var lite av en överraskning.
