So this is something I've spent the last week and a half (abotu 1 hour per day due to constraints), but I've finally got something resembling usable with a precedual human skin texture that I copied from Project Starlight's settings in Blender.

2 important things I learnt: 1) the "Subsurface" doesn't work and sliding it to maximum doesn't yield any results, and 2) you can't have masks inside of a texture. The former could be a non-issue but I'm unsure how it works as the documentation for ArmorPaint isn't really up-to-snuff yet. The latter is only gonna be a problem on actual character models when I need to create a "bloom" effect around the cheeks and lips, and I'm not sure how to get around that issue to be honest.

✨WIP. Here are some new steps on my Michael. Amongst all the photos I took, I chose this one because this particular step makes her look like a strange cyborg. That’s because of her blank eye, but really I find this look scary and cool, just as I like it. I could even have finished this portrait with totally changing the design starting from this point. The last few weeks I've been working importing textures from Poly Haven (one of the locates the ArmorPaint cloud gets them) to ArmorPaint. The 2 reasons why I'm putting in the effort is because 1) I like to have them local, and 2) the cloud option litterally crashes the program... Today during my livestream I had finished porting all them over. Overall I think the textures from Poly Haven look really cool!

However I've noticed when using ArmorPaint that the function to import textures from Blender doesn't quite work right as of 0.10: As you can see a black splotch appears in the middle of the diffuse map (or said map is just pure black) and doesn't even get the right colour. To combat this I've just manually re-added the offending textures and fix the materials before exporting them out as a ".arm" file.

It wasn't quite the "quick fire" job I was hoping for, and there is some procedural materials I would like to create before texturing my first cyberpunk prop - but I think the extra effort I put in now will be worth it in the long run.

Last time, I posted my very first rainbow portrait, Emilia, and now here is the last entirely black and white I did. I don’t know why I shifted so drastically from no colors to an overload of colors, but I still don’t feel like doing black and white again, and don’t know if I’ll every want to do that again. That was fun and a good practice, and it looks nice , but I really feel that my drawings have to reflect my over saturated brain 😁.
