Being in the Duck fandom is fun because you could write a fanfic or draw some fanart that was inspired by DT17 or whatever and chances are there will be someone in the comments lecturing you on how it is inaccurate because it doesn’t follow the rules or canon of Carl Barks or Don Rosa

I saw your post about bringing comic Della Duck to her full potential, so I gotta ask; do you imagine the Della Duck from the comics has the voice of Paget Brewster or did you have someone else in mind?

Hoo boy, you’ve really put me on the spot here, y’know?

First off, I keep imaging my version of the Duckverse as if were to be an official, Disney-licensed creation. That’s completely ridiculous, but it’s how my brain works. So I’m picturing myself selecting the voice actors for my show/movie, and selecting someone new for Della? Like holy crap, I can’t imagine doing that to Paget Brewster. If you look up anything about what she thinks of Della you’ll know she was an incredibly important role to Paget, and she was especially proud of and excited to be the person to bring Della to life after eight decades of Della barely counting as a character. As much as I love comics!Della, I have to admit that DT17 is by far the most important event in her real-world development- and that it wouldn’t have happened without Paget.

If I chose someone new to be Della it would break Paget’s heart. Even if it’s a different version of Della, my interpretation of comics!Della is that she actually isn’t too different from DT17 in personality- not enough to justify replacing her voice actor, at least.

While I know I couldn’t replace Paget in practice, in my selfish heart I would want a new voice actor’s interpretation of Della Duck. I can’t describe voices, I don’t now what fancy words like “intonation” mean, so I can’t describe what type of voice I want, but I want something a bit different for comics!Della. Also, I don’t know anything about voice actors, so I can’t give you an example of somebody else specific I would like.

I feel really bad about saying I don’t want Paget, cause she did a really really good job as DT17 Della, but I think since it’s a slightly different version of the character, I want a different voice actor?

Anyway, I’m tired and this has turned into an incoherent mess.

TLDR; I’d like someone new to be comics!Della, but I have no idea who that someone would be, and I’d feel terrible for taking away the role of Della from Paget when Della is so so important to Paget.

Okay, we absolutely talk about the main 4 kids as friends (the triplets and Webby), but why not these 4 as their own group?

I raise you…The B-Team!

I think one of the brilliant things about this foursome is how great each would be in a duo, no matter who you pair them up with.

Configuration 1:

Lena and Violet-Sisters and fellow magic enthusiasts.

Boyd and Gosalyn-Besides the fact that they were added into the friend group a bit later on, they’re both kinda superhero-adjacent (Boyd with Gizmoduck, Gosalyn with Darkwing), plus they did work together in the finale.

Configuration 2:

Lena and Boyd-Both came from abusive pasts, and were helped to overcome it. #TraumaBuddies Plus, I think they’d both be super protective of each other, in a big sister-little brother kind of way.

Violet and Gosalyn-Despite their obvious differences in personality, they both thrive on danger and the unknown. See this post by @writebackatya for a better explanation.

Configuration 3:

Lena and Gosalyn-They’re both total bad Bs. And I see them both having a very dry sense of humor.

Violet and Boyd-They’re both Junior Woodchucks, they’re both nerds, and both had an episode focusing on their dynamic with Huey (I cannot talk enough about the three of them as a trio, though. #StreamThePowerofThree)

But yeah. Lena, Violet, Boyd, and Gosalyn would be an interesting quartet together.

I hc that after Gandra got captured by Bradford at the end of 'Beaks In the Shell', a terrified Fenton poured his heart out to all his friends and family about how worried he was that she was missing, and how sure he was that F.O.W.L. captured her before she could quit the organization for good (and I wish the fear of the likelihood of her being captured- because, let's face it, it doesn't seem like a job you can safely just walk away from without being labeled a traitor- had been touched on between Gandra and Fenton in the episode, tho I definitely hc they'd discussed the risk before when they discussed their plan for her to quit and finally be free of them).

His mom. Huey. Team Science (including Gyro, who likely would have tried comforting him in his own awkward way as a mark of post-'Astro B.O.Y.D.' character development, and I would've LOVED to have seen that). Drake/Darkwing. Launchpad. Gosalyn.

I know Fenton talked about it to Drake and LP a bit at Funso's in the beginning of the finale, but some weeks had passed between 'Beaks In the Shell' and 'The Last Adventure', so I seriously doubt that was the first time he talked about it to them.

Dewey would love the I'm Just Ken scene from Barbie. I mean, come on. It's a dance fight (still upset that Dewey almost but not quite got a dance fight with Don Karnage) with glitter and toys and a musical number. It's awesome.

I've wanted to see Dewey rockin' the hoodie Ken wears at the end. I freakin' LOVE that color scheme. I replaced the headband with a sunvisor, an aspect of Dewey's concept art I really like. I also added shutter shades because I had (or maybe I still have them?) some for my Ken dolls and thought they would go with the vibe.

Louie Duck and Dewey Duck argue with Jack Kangaroo (my OC) about winning the Duckburg 500 - Quack Pack - Duckverse - My version

Last week I drew this drawing related to Duckblr Movie Night when I watched with my friends the Quack Pack episode "Need 4 Speed" (the episode has the same name as the famous movie of the same name and the car racing video game of the same time). Not to mention the length, the funniest part for me was the end where the Toy Kangaroo with the little accordion wins the Duckburg 500 race. On that occasion I gave my headcanon what it actually looks like at the end of the episode where Donald's nephews Dewey and Louie argue with their friend from Australia Jack Kangaroo, that the toy kangaroo won at the end of that race. By the way, Jack Kangaroo is my OC and I drew him a few months ago and you can see his first version here:

Yes, Toy Kangaroo won thanks to a quick fluency given by Professor Ludwig von Drake. Yes Toy Kangaroo is a toy from Jack, I don't need to say why. So I drew a short comic about it. For those who can't see, here is their conversation:

Jack Kangaroo: "I can't believe my toy won the race. How did it get to to you in the first place?"

Louie Duck: "Well...We didn't think it was yours, it was our Uncle Ludwig who tested how fast he could go and the won the race, and we fainted, when we heard that."

Jack Kangaroo: "All kinds of nonsense, mate."

Dewey Duck thought to himself:"I blame Huey for saying to drain everything of super speed fluid."

Indi-Quack!: Even if this fic wasn’t my most popular fic, I’d still consider it one of my favorites. I’m still amazed with the amount of love this one has received ever since I first published it on AO3. I’m glad you guys love reading about what the Disney ducks would be like if they smoked weed. But honestly any of these stories in Indi-Quack! could’ve made it onto my list, but whatever I’m putting them all in one entry because I’m proud of them all

Rainbow Connections: I love how this one turned out. Definitely nowhere near as comedic or chaotic compared to my other fics, but that’s one of the reasons why I love it. And the fact this fic was inspired by a Garfunkel and Oates song that’s nowhere near as chaotic or comedic as their other songs is the cherry on top of this sundae

Let’s All Go to the Movies!: This one was just a lot of fun to write. The group I selected, the cameos, the jabs at Disney, and all the references were a lot of fun to come up with. I love going to the movies, especially when I was a kid and I really wanted to show the difference of going when you are a kid vs. when you’re an adult when the experience is a little less magical

Home for the Holidays!: I like to consider this fic “Indi-Quack! but it’s for everyone cause it’s about the holiday/winter season instead of weed.” This fic is pure holiday fluff and I love it for that. And I really can’t wait to write more for it this coming December! I just don’t know how I’ll top Della and Fenton singing Run DMC

Up, Up, and Away!: Everyone in the DuckTales fandom has their own idea what would happen in Season 4; and I like to think what I have in this fic and the upcoming stories for The Iron Duck of Steel: The Gizmoduck Movie, Part I! is my idea for a season 4. Resinecure - (NSFW) A Raffles fic that takes place at the beginning of No Sinecure. We get some cute fluff and some good smut.

Her Serendipitous Jaw - An ACD Sherlock Holmes fic that focuses on Holmes' relationship with Victor Trevor in college. Extremely fluffy and sweet. Written for Holmestice Summer 2023!

Wait For It - And finally, one from a while ago. A Hamilton soulmate au fic that explores the relationship of Theodosia and Aaron Burr. I made illustrations for this one. It's really sweet and then gets REALLY sad.
