Update: Insta-Detox

Reinstalled and reopened the IG App on my Phone again. Logged in for like 10 min. and deinstalled it. Funny how self-reflection fundamentally changed my point of view . I also logged in on my pc after that , to check out a site that posts about astrology ( I like it very much). Looked over a few profiles of people Ive been following regularly (checking stories out, pics, vids). What shall I say. I feel much better when I DON’T check the profiles of certain people everyday. Yes, my tumblr consumption has indeed increased but so has the community here. I am very thankful for this growth we are going through together, from all around the world. I also realize how I follow a lot of people on IG who I know personally and that’s basically it. Haven’t been in touch f2f for years. Makes me think about a real (or rather unreal) connection to them. It is good to openely talk about it here. Will our paths cross again? Ive been following them for years, yet I haven’t seen them for years in person. I dont wanna be a virtual part of somebody’s live everyday without being a physical part of it ( Ofc I mean the people I do know in person). Simply doesn’t feel right. Feels plastic and unreal. Feels more like admiring and observing and less than communicating and interacting. Real, authentic and personal connection is what I define as friendship. Not the digital facade of a person. There is a huge difference between seeking sensation and wanting to be seen. That’s what I am learning right now for sure. So many people build their lives on seeking sensation in a way what can easily happen through oversharing. Enormous amounts of dopamine are being released and people get addicted to it, constantly seeking for more and never finding it. Instead, feeling into privacy and awareness is enabling us to worship each moment, experience, feeling. A proper and conscious regulation of social networking IS a huge factor if you really wanna work on your mental health. I feel like IG is distracting me more frequently that tumblr ever did; besides that I  have always focussed and loved the writing part about tumblr and that it really feels like blogging. Always thankful for continous writing flow and inspiration here. IG is very stuffed with all kinds of ideas, posts and quotes, so it is very hard do differentiate what is fake and what is not. It requires an intensified ‘filtering process’ in the brain.Writing and reflecting about it helps me to figure this filtration out and regulate my media consumption healthily.

Status report:

Here we were.

I had reached the moment where Antonio lost his mind. For those who read it, I introduced Antonio in Book 2 of the Darkened series DARKCHILDE. His Nosferatu was bat s*&( crazy. I had wondered why. I even expected that I would get into it in my next short story collection.

Along came my Darkenverse side project. And right now I was working on his short story for the collection.

I figured that his story would be difficult. I was right. His way of thinking was non-linear. Thus, so was the story. However at the same time it was linear. So it was a fun challenge.

Other than a few days where BLADE RUNNER 2049 gave me a strong case of Writer's Block, it has been a pretty smooth writing flow.

Now I was at the actual scene. In the actual moment. When he was shattered.

Would I be the same?

What’s new in Gutenberg 1.4? (October 10th)

With this release Gutenberg allows you to make edits and tweaks to the HTML of individual blocks, without having to hunt for the relevant code in the full document view. Redesigned the header area of the editor for clarity—groups content actions in the left, and post action in the right. Group block settings (delete, inspector, edit HTML) on an ellipsis button. Added new reusable Dropdown component. Show frequently used blocks in the inserter shortcuts (at the bottom of the post). Other changes Offer option for the button block to clear content. Refactor block toolbar component in preparation for some iterations (docked toolbar, for example). Allow partial URLs in link input. Avoid using state for tracking arrow key navigation in WritingFlow to prevent re-renders. Improve mobile header after design cleanup. Add focusReturn for Dropdown component. Updated Audio block markup to use figure element. Removed transition on multi-select affecting the perception of speed of the interaction. Show Gallery block description even if there are no images. Persist custom class names. Merge initialization actions into a single action. Fix scroll position when reordering blocks. 1.2 (and 1.2.1) : Resolve block conflicts when editing a block post in the classic editor. Gutenberg’s strict content validation has helped identify formatting incompatibilities, and continued improvements are planned for future releases. Add word and block count to table of contents. Add support for meta attributes (custom fields) in block attributes. This allows block authors to specify attributes to live outside of `post_content` entirely. Allow Gutenberg to be the default editor for posts with blocks and add links to classic editor. Accessibility: add landmark regions. Add metabox placeholder shell.
