Heyo! I saw you were doing halloween prompts!! Could I please request dialogue prompt 3 with Quest from Blooming Panic and gn reader? Thank you so much, I hope you have a very spooky month <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Someone save me!”
The kids in front of you, with their foam weapons and scary masks, all giggled at your fake fear. Some of them even stepped closer to you pretending you get ready to attack you. Before any “attack” could start though a large arm wrapped around your waist. The other hand held it a prop sword in front of the two if you. Fending off your most vicious attackers, the kids.
“Fear not! I am here to save you!”
The lines were a bit stiff and definitely sound practiced but the kids didn’t mind, they giggled just as much as if the best actor known to man came out and said it. Quest pretended to attack the kids back and they all giggled, a few of them swatting back with their own “weapons”.
The little game came to an end when you and quest both stood up straight and grabbed hold of the candy bowl sitting beside you and offering it to the kids. All of them momentarily forgot about their little game and dug in for the chance to get something sweet. And then they were off to their next house, some of them made their best attempt at a scary face as they left. And Quest waved his fake sword at them.
Halloween with him would always be a fun experience.

- monster -
i stare in the mirror;
the monster i've made
of dreams that have rotted
and fallen away.
it drags me in nearer
a twisted charade
the blood on its teeth
that's been fated to stay.
so why, do i wonder
do i start to fall?
through the glass
as though i were nothing at all?
regrets are a number
i silently bawl
no tears leave my chest
far as i can recall.
the monster, i realize
is only myself
the words make no sound
as i'm begging for help.
my lips only form lies
sing vacant farewells
forgetting myself
as i slip into hell.
my soul is no saviour
a tragic design
so leave me to rot
and please leave me behind.
i sing empty prayers
to gods who have died
i hope you were happy
i hope that i tried.

A Call For Help… | Tommy Shelby (written through letters)
Tumblr media
Request: no - part of @raincoffeeandfandoms ‘s Peaky letter writing event
Pairing: Tommy Shelby x OC (written in form of letters)
Summary: Tommy tries to find a way to better an old flame’s current situation while also hoping to make her aware of the fact that things have changed since they last saw each other.
Warnings: mentions of abuse, starvation and isolation, mentions of an arranged marriage
Word Count: 1413
A/N: this is unlike anything I’ve ever written before…thank you Flor for creating this super unique event, and Aimee ( @dandelionprints ) for writing the first letter - it was so fun to respond to…I hope it’s ok that I took a bit of an angsty route, and I hope that it makes sense. Enjoy! :)
A/N 2: the woman mentioned at the end of the second letter is not Grace (or at least I did not imagine it to be as I was writing). She doesn’t have a name though, so it could be her if you want.
Tumblr media
— letter writtten by @dandelionprints —
Dear Tommy,
I'm sorry if it comes as a surprise that I'm writing you this letter, I'll completely understand if you decide to read no further than this part, throw it into a fire and scatter the ashes as if ridding yourself of me for good.
I fear you were not told the truth about why I went away. I'm sure my father told you that I'd had a change of heart, that I could never truly love someone who called themselves a 'Peaky Blinder'. Oh how wrong that could be.
The truth is that it was not my choice to be parted from you, in fact I kicked and screamed with all my might to stay but it did no good. I was still manhandled into a car and driven off to Scotland to wed a man that I cannot stand, a man who knows nothing of loyalty or love. A man who is nothing like you.
My father told me that it had been agreed between himself and my now husband's father that I were to be married into their family, all to settle a debt that my father created by drinking and gambling his way through his wages. If I married this man then his father would rid mine of his debts and make sure that my parents would live a comfortable life.
Why they wanted me of all people, I don't know. I have no money to give them, only services that I'm forced to do against my will, otherwise a beating is in order. Sometimes I take the beating, I'd rather that than to do the things they want me to. All I do know is that I wish it could be different, wish that I could have stayed back in Birmingham with you...
Anyway, I'm sorry. You probably don't need to know about that and also probably don't care. It's been two years since you last heard from me so I completely understand if you want nothing to do with me. You might even have a new love now, I wouldn't blame you if you do.
They stopped me from sending letters to anyone but my parents, I have to be chaperoned everywhere I go.
I've lied and said I don't feel well today and the man whose job it is to make sure I don't do anything I shouldn't has left me in my room to sleep though I fear he will be back soon. I knew I had to use the time wisely and write to the person I've wanted to speak to since the moment I was dragged from my house by the arms all that time ago. You.
I'm planning an escape soon, I can't take much more of this life. The beatings, the withholding of food to the point that my clothes hang off my frame, the feeling that there is not a soul around that I can turn to for comfort.
I don't know where I will go but I won't be able to leave this God forsaken place for at least another month. If you write a letter in response to this then please find a way to get it here without having to go past other people in this house first, I'll never get the chance to read it if it does.
As I said before, I'll understand if you have a new love or if you just want nothing to do with me, time has passed now and feelings change. I'll leave it up to you to decide what to do.
Yours, always,
Aimee
Tumblr media
— letter written by myself —
Aimee,
I'm sorry.
I haven't a clue of how long your letter has sat on my desk. A lengthy trip to America took me away from Birmingham for some time and I've just finally gotten back to my office now.
It's been too long, Aimee. Since I've seen you; since I've heard from you. And the reason behind it makes sense now, but it was a struggle to figure it out in the interim.
I hate to know what has happened to you; what the reason behind the silence was. I would have fought against it had I known what type of situation you'd be taken into. I wish this letter would have found me sooner. Maybe if it had, things could have been resolved before they got to their current point.
I looked for you around Small Heath, and when it turned up empty; I widened the search to the whole of Birmingham. The decision to write this letter came when those efforts returned unsuccessful. I write it with the hope that you have not since left this address, and that you will receive it when I send it out.
Help will come, Aimee. I cannot give all of the details here for fear of interception, but know that I will do all that I can in order to improve your situation.
The man that your father struck a deal with is easily influenced, as I am sure you might have already figured out. I have spoken to him and have managed to get him to switch some of his operations around. He has hired some of my men onto his payroll, and they will allow us to trade correspondence in the future; if you feel inclined to, that is. When the time comes, you will be able to leave, and if things go according to how I have planned them, that time will arrive sooner than later.
As for the man you were made to marry...the things he does are worse than anything I have ever carried out. How your parents cannot see that perplexes me and makes me wonder if there was more than the debt that needed to be paid back. I could have helped, Aimee. I could have made your father's situation disappear; I could have changed your entire family's life for the better. How can he be wary of me but yet sell his daughter to a man who so clearly resembles the devil in all of his doings? I never understood how he conducted things; how he could be so scornful at times, but I withstood that to continue to be with you.
I was told that you moved away. That you had dreams bigger than Small Heath and you were finally going to work towards achieving them. I should have recognized the dullness in your mother's eyes when she told me these things, but I was not one to over-analyze what was put forth as the truth then. I understood what it was, and is, like to hold dreams that others think are too big to become reality. I've worked hard to make the Shelby Company Limited into what it is today, and I guess a part of myself was content with thinking that you were off wherever it was that you went, also working hard to make your dreams a reality. Had I known what your actual reality was…
So much has changed over the years we’ve been apart from each other, but I cannot deny the fact that reading your words allowed me to escape back to a time when things were easier. When there wasn’t much else other than you and I. I often think of those times; of you in the summer, sitting under a blue sky with not a care in the world. You always felt much better outside, and thinking of those times makes me feel better…like the weight of the world is lifted off of my shoulders, even if only for a moment.
But like I said, things have changed since then. I’ve found someone whom I love. She has become my wife and has given me a son. They ground me in a way that you used to.
I couldn’t wait for you, Aimee. I had to allow myself to continue on with my life while thinking that you were bettering yours. I thought I’d never hear from you again. I needed to move on.
I want to help you though, and things will get better. They just may not get better in the way that you’d hoped upon writing your letter.
I hope to hear from you again,
Tommy

20 Author Questions
thanks to @statelysapphicfor the tag!!!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
28!
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
162,944
3. What fandoms do you write for?
it's that sweet gwendoline chistie brain rot for me :))
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
push me gently (into love) -> (nsfw) -> two chapter Larissa x reader story in which reader is an art teacher at Nevermore. fluffy, cozy, and sweet, featuring easily skippable smut. rom-com vibes.
when the last restraint is gone -> (ongoing) (nsfw) -> an intense victorian romance between Jane Murdstone and her lady's maid, Laura. sort of in the style of Sarah Waters's historical romance novels. heavily influenced by Vita and Virginia's love letters. featuring a lot of sensually read victorian poetry and dirty, delicious smut.
danger level - one (nsfw) -> filthy smut featuring the good ol' sex pollen trope. Phasma x fem!stormtrooper!reader. hot and a bit silly. straightforward and simple porn lol.
particular (nsfw) -> Larissa Weems x (adult) Wednesday Addams, aka the fic that got me cancelled. ongoing, but written. still in the process of posting it. rom-com with dark humour and some more mature themes, but still relatively light. sort of a coming-of-age story.
so very chivalrous (and so completely oblivious) -> Brienne x princess!reader. very fluffy. Brienne is very good with a sword, but a bit oblivious in the matters of love. featuring good ol' lesbian yearning.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
i try my best to! i feel like i either wanna rant abt my blorbos and my thought process or i want to be polite. someone took the time to write a comment, and i feel like that warrants a thank you!
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
hmmmmm. perhaps the sad ending option for my ruin tastes so sweet (almost as sweet as your lips) -- it's a choose your own adventure story!
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
it would have to be either so very chivalrous (and so completely oblivious) or push me gently (into love) which now that i think about have a lot of kudos and comments and hits, so i guess ppl love happy endings hahah
8. Do you get hate on fics?
i'm the queen of controversy apparently, and i was cancelled! but the fic itself didn't get as much hate as ppl didn't even wanna read it lol, i personally got hate mail. so fics? i suppose not. but there is still time, who knows what else i'll post (i know, and ppl will likely have opinions about it)
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
i very much do lol. the real hot kind :)
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
i've written exactly one! larissa x phasma bc. reasons. it's smut. chrome and lipstick
11. Have you ever had a fiction stolen?
not to my knowledge! but ppl have heavily copied my work :)
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
not to my knowledge!
13. Have you ever co-writtten a fic before?
tried to, but the person in question sorta ghosted me lol
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
ughhhhh idk man. i guess the one i spent the longest being obsessed with is malora. i have a dark past lol.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
i hope to finish them all Eventually lol but idk, we shall see!
16. What are your writing strengths?
characterisation, point blank haha. i have a sense of rhythm that i sometimes put to good use.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
uhhh i tend to be vague abt things i am bored with while i write, and plot driven things aren't my forte. i can get very dash and comma happy lol. sometimes i tend to Fixate on a word or a phrase and i'm like okay gurl let it go lol, you've used this too many times. i am not very meticulous and i hate doing outlines and i feel like Sometimes it Shows. i feel like sometimes you can tell english is not my native language no matter how hard i try.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
speak the language at least somewhat, please. otherwise it's really hard for it to land well. personally, i feel very lukewarm about it
19. First fandom you wrote for?
uhhhhh. i honestly don't remember. supergirl perhaps?? or ouat.
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
our little dance and particular :)

20 Author Questions
Tagged by @scorpsik - thank you! :)
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
41 :')
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
230,542
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Any Gwendoline Christie character, with a heavy preference for Wednesday and Game of Thrones
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Lipstick Stains
in my head
Visions
Hers and Only Hers
Amortentia: Fated Attraction (i hate that title, i'm changing it)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! I try to at least. I respond to every comment I get on ao3 because I very much appreciate the time someone took to write something, and I want to give that time back. On tumblr, I try to, but I don't really respond to tags because it's not the best system to reply to tags. But I adore each and every last one endlessly <3
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Everybody Lost Somebody - I cried SO hard writing this.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I feel like most of my fics have a happy ending so... happiest? Hm. I like the ending to in my head quite a lot, also I desire. And I crave.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Thankfully no, which I am eternally grateful for <3
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes. Often. Almost exclusively save for the occasional hurt/no comfort that my brain tosses out. Always wlw <3
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
No, I'm not a fan of crossovers - I have one or two that I've enjoyed reading, but I don't think I'd ever bother writing one (who knows).
11. Have you ever had a fiction stolen?
No, save for once when someone reposted a bunch of fics on wattpad? That got taken down though so. :)
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13. Have you ever co-writtten a fic before?
Not yet... I do have a fic with @autumn-leaves-chasing-breeze that is chilling in my open tabs though :')
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
I only really write x reader, and I read a lot of x reader, but I used to (and still do sometimes) read a lot of Swan Queen <3
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have one Larissa x f!reader fic that I drafted out a long time ago about reader's relationship with Larissa as a fellow student at Nevermore and how it evolves over time into adulthood and working together. But I never have the motivation to write the parts in between the scenes that are stuck in my head :(
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'm my own worst critic and would love to say nothing in a very self-deprecating way, but I will be kind to myself and say I've been told that characterization is one of my strengths and would tend to agree - at least, it's what I work the hardest on.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I'm the slowest writer in existence, I swear it. I also struggle with dialogue sometimes, and transitions. Not sure how much it shows but they're a pain sometimes.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I haven't done it much, and I tend to be cautious and would try to get it double-checked to make sure what I'm writing is correct.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Wednesday (Larissa x reader)
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
You Make Me Feel - hands down! I loved writing this fic and I have re-read it countless times myself hehe
I also have a soft spot for some of my earlier Brienne fics like Your Favorite Dance because !! Brienne fluff !!

20 Author Questions
Shout-out to @the-frankenman-writes for the tag!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
4 - I actually only started publishing fics a little over a year ago and my main project has been a still-running longfic so I haven't been able to build up much of an archive thus far LOL.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
408,653. The longfic is a fucking TOME.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
At the moment, just Hellsing. I do intend to publish some Castlevania fanfiction soon, and I've got a couple of larger OC fics planned for Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Guess I'm listing all my fics in order with an empty bottom slot, oopsie!
formulas fatal to the flesh - Alucard (Hellsing)/Transfemme Jewish Reader fic that also serves as the "pilot" for my OC longfic. I originally started writing this as a means of exploring my sexuality in the wake of HRT changing a lot of things about my desires whilst also issuing a love letter to my favorite series. Then everything got intense.
2. Interview With the Impaler - Alucard (Hellsing)/Transfemme Reader. This was me trying out some new ideas with how I write Alucard as well as just trying to contribute to the transfemme reader insert pool. It's really nice when you don't have to mentally change the genitals of the reader insert you're reading about to put yourself in their shoes and enjoy the fantasy, so I like providing more of it.
3. lesions of a different kind - Alucard Hellsing/Transfemme Jewish OC. My longfic, my baby, my first foray into long-form storytelling. She's choppy, she's unhinged, she's full of bigger ideas than I know what to do with, but damn it all, I'm having fun with her. This is the main story of Zemira Shani Makhabi, my homebrewed blorbo and shameless self-critique. She started out as a reader insert before I decided to turn her into a golem allegory full of meta commentary on what it means to relate to a fictional character. That, and so much BDSM shit like oh man so FUCKING much.
4. Operation: GREENHOUSE - Pip Bernadotte (Hellsing)/Zemira Shani Makhabi. In dead last, a fic involving a character who is unfortunately not very popular to write about, but I happen to find incredibly hot in his own right. Technically AU of an AU fic too? IDK man I just wanted to write steamy smut about these two because I thought their dynamic was fun bwahahaha
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Absolutely I do! They really motivate me to continue and I love connecting with people based on how they perceive my work.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
MWEHEHEHEHE that'd be Interview With the Impaler. I used the Mean Alucard tag for a reason. I may continue this story yet tbh, because I could make it ever angstier.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Operation: GREENHOUSE. Just ends with those two snuggling and teasing each other. Easy shit.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I'm extremely lucky to have never gotten a mean comment and hope it never happens.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
LITERALLY EVERYTHING I WRITE IS SMUT BWAHAHAHAHA I lean heavy on a few tropes - maledom/femsub shit, mind break/hypnosis/heat/etc, and a constant obsession with men's hands. Hands in general, tbh, I get really horny about hands.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I've never published a crossover but I like the idea of one. I would need to find two series which I REALLY wanted to compare and contrast.
11. Have you ever had a fiction stolen?
None that I know of
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
See above
13. Have you ever co-writtten a fic before?
Nothing that's published, but a pal of mine and I are cooking something cool up rn... You know who you are.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
ALUTEGRA BAYBEEEEEEEEEEE my beloved genderfuck angst-fest full of questions about monstrosity vs. humanity and forbidden desires and old souls and and and and look do you know how hard it is to have an OTP that literally never touch in the original series
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I don't have any right now but I live in constant fear I'll wake up one day without the drive to finish Lesions. That would make me so sad.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I can write really visceral gore and snappy action scenes, I can construct a layered character like a motherfucker, and I'm pretty damn good at dialogue, I think.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
OOF. Plot. Fucking PACING. I feel like my stories can sometimes feel like super compelling personalities flopping about in a sandbox. Which can work, for some cases, but I try to deliver on the promise of a compelling plot.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
It really depends. I've seen writers do it with tags for the translated words? It seems to work best for small, potent exchanges.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I think this honor actually goes to Pokemon. I was doing a Nuzlocke comic once upon a time!
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
Probably Lesions, thus far, lol

Fandom: MCU Pairing/starring: Sam Wilson x fem!reader Content: Pining, worrying, fake dating, brief one-bed-trope, friends to lovers, and a suspiciously meddling/insightful grandmother. A/N: Takes places before Civil War. Thanks to @tantefrutsel-creativenurse for betaing! A lot of this was writtten while I had covid, so sorry for any weirdness.
Tumblr media
A favour
...  Reader   ...
“Oh, c’mon!” Sam had pleaded. “It’s just one night.”
And it really did just start out that way: you accompanied him, your best friend, to one of Tony Stark’s parties of the year and you even had a blast being introduced to the Avengers, you spent the time drinking and dancing with Sam until all you could do was sit curled up in the couch as you listened to the group of heroes have fun down memory lane. Eventually Sam had taken you home, even made sure you were tucked in nicely before he crashed on your couch.
Secretly, you had been more than happy to go with him. Not because you’d get to meet his other friends the heroes (they were actually the reason you were hesitant) but because you liked to hang out with Sam.
It wasn’t just “liking” it, really. Sam was fun and charming and you’d be lying if you claimed you didn’t have a crush on him. More than a crush, maybe. You’d been pining for the guy for more than a year and been too afraid to do anything about it for fear of losing him completely instead.
...  Sam   ...
She’s pretty. No, that was the wrong place to start and Sam knew it. First of all she was so much more than just her looks and secondly it was an inadequate term to use: she was gorgeous at the very least. And in the tabloid magazines and online, the image of her arm in arm with him were rather nice even though it hadn’t been part of the plan that the press should notice her. [Y/N]’s presence at the party had done wonders to Sam’s confidence although it hadn’t been enough that night for him to ask her outright
But yes, there was the thing with the press which gave his plan a beating the other way because after that night, suddenly people had started to ask him things that he wanted to announce and he had to denounce it all which broke his heart.
“Have you been hiding things from me, Samuel?” Nan’s voice had cut sharply through the phone and before waiting for an answer she’d talked herself into a frenzy about wanting to see “her babies” all settled and happy and how dare he hide anything like that from the family now that she was practically on her death-bed. She was not dying. Sam knew it. She knew it. And Sam was just about to complain when he realized that could be his way into [Y/N]’s heart, seeing as he was clearly too coward to go for the big question right away.
...  Reader   ...
“Wait,” you sputter, “so you want me to pretend that we’re dating? Just because you can’t tell your gran the truth?”
Now Sam’s standing in your living room and begging you to play pretend for a weekend. He lets the words bounce around in his head for a moment, clearly considering the ups and downs to the plan.
“Yeah.”
You’d met his family once or twice before and found the matriarch delightful although slightly dementia-prone. Going along with her idea of the world might indeed be simpler than correcting it but you don’t like the idea of lying to an old woman.
“Sam...” you sigh.
Half of your mind is throwing a tantrum, trying to caution you of the risks of getting hurt here...but the other half (backed by your heart) is leaping with joy at the prospect of a taste of what a relationship with Sam would be like. Even if it’s just play-pretend.
“[Y/N]...please?”
“Ugh, how can I say no when you’re pouting?!”
Not only is he pouting, he’s sporting the prettiest puppy eyes too. “So that’s a yes?”
“Yeah, it’s a yes,” you groan.
Sam hugs you tight. “You’re the best!”
“Don’t you forget.”
For a moment he pulls back and looks you straight in the eyes. “Never,” he answers with an air of seriousness that takes you aback.
...
He picks you up Friday morning a week and a half later and you’ve made sure to pack a backpack with all that you need for the weekend.
The trip south is easy and comfortable. You’re used to spending hours together with Sam and you’ve been on road trips with him before. This time there’s a flight involved but that doesn’t deter you from the endeavour – no, the problem is still that you’re expected to lie to his grandma.
She might have forgotten what it’s all about in the meantime. You doubt it though.
Now, nearing the house in the rented car, the chattiness has faded and dumped you both into a pensive silence. Glancing over at your friend, you see that he too is deep in thoughts – there’s a furrow between his brows and he’s gently biting onto his lip.
“What are we gonna say?” you ask him, breaking his reverie and making him glance towards you.
“That we finally saw the light,” he answers with an ease that makes you envy him.
For you, this is hard. You wish it was real and not just pretend. Can I get over this? Should I have said no? But you can’t deny Sam anything...least of all something you yearn for in secret. And now you’re here on the way to spend a weekend with the little bit of family he has...and to get your heart broken from the knowledge that it’s all a lie.
...  Sam   ...
It’s so close to happening. So close to being real.
Glancing over at [Y/N], he sees the sign of concern on her brow because naturally the goodness of her heart is telling her to do the right thing. But what is the right thing now? Make an old woman happy? Help out a friend? Or absolutely having to tell the truth? Sam knows what he prefers (hence the plan) but regardless, he’s happy that she’s there with him and he promises himself that this weekend will lead to more: I need to tell her how I feel.
...  Reader   ...
You arrive in the late afternoon and of course Sam’s greeted with big hugs from everyone while you hang back a bit. It isn’t until he waves you over that you are subjected to the same treatment...almost as if the few times you’ve met the family has made you one of them. Or maybe it’s your new title. Girlfriend. Sam straight up beams when he says it. And so does his grandma.
“Oh, it’s so good the two of you have finally come to your senses,” she proclaims.
Excuse me? You know this fits perfectly with the plan, but even so. Has she just been waiting for it or would she have said that to anyone supposedly dating her grandchild? Unsure of how to respond, you just smile at the old woman and allow her to pull you indoors.
Before she can drag you onto the couch, though, Sam intercepts: “Let me take your bag upstairs, babe.”
But then leaves you in the claws of the woman who pats the seat next to her on the couch meaningfully.
“I’ve brought a few old scrapbooks,” she divulges with a smirk as she pulls them out from a tote bag, “from when my little Sammy was a baby.”
A few minutes pass and you’re already a few pages in, looking at a chubby baby with sparkling eyes when Sam returns.
“Nan! What are you doing?” he exclaims in realization.
“Giving her an idea of what your babies are gonna look like,” the old woman answers dryly, “gorgeous!”
As Sam’s about to protest, Sarah comes and drags him away to help in the kitchen.
...
You’ve seen every single baby picture of Sam by the time Sarah distracts the grandmother with the announcement of dinner and although your so-called boyfriend was adorable as a kid, you still prefer the adult version of him...to take some of the heat.
“How long have you been together now?” the grandmother asks.
Sam smiles disarmingly before reverting his attention to the food. “Just a few weeks. Not long at all.”
The old woman squints through the thick glasses at the two of you. “Hrm...why’d it take so long before you got to your senses?” You both pause, having prepared a lot of excuses and explanations but not that. But she saves you the trouble of thinking of something as she continues on the same breath: “Because young people nowadays are too busy, that’s why! A perfectly good match right before your noses!”
“Nan,” Sarah pleads on your behalf, “just be happy they finally did find each other.”
“They’ve known each other for years!” She turns her attention back to Sam again. “How long have you known each other?”
“Uhm...12 years give or take?”
“Plenty of time! I got married after knowing George for a year. Had a child by the second year!”
“Nan,” Sam protests, “things aren’t like that nowadays.”
“I dare say...we actually kissed in public but you two haven’t even held hands...”
You can feel the heat rise to your cheeks and you aren’t sure it’s because of what you secretly want or if it’s due to the scrutinizing glare of the old woman that is staring into your soul.
Sam wraps an arm around you, pulling you closer as he laughs at his grandmother’s words. “Why rub it in the faces of everyone?” But even Sarah looks unconvinced. “Anyways, what’s...how are you guys?”
You’re thankful for the change of subject but you can see on the other women that they’re on to you.
...
You and Sam volunteer to do the dishes, hoping it will grant you a moment to chat before returning to the others.
“They’re not believing it, Sam,” you worry in a whisper, “we might as well come clean.”
“I would prefer not to let down Nan,” he mutters, taking a dripping plate from you, “she’s so old and she’s been bugging me for years.”
You glance at him, noticing how the stark light above the counter highlights the specks in his dark eyes. Perfect eyes. “Well who’s this for? Her or you?”
Leaning in for a new plate, the man smiles. “Both? She’s off my back because she’s happy.”
“Well she’s not very happy right now, I can tell that much,” you mutter, knowing that the matriarch probably is watching you like a hawk.
“I know,” Sam admits quietly, “she’s even patrolling to keep an eye on us.”
Lapsing into silence, a moment passes and true enough: Nan passes by the door, tottering carefully towards the bookcase as if interested in one of the volumes there. A little while later and she returns with a book in hand. This is the second time she’s made the trip.
“I got an idea,” you admit.
“Me too but I’m not sure you’ll find it weird or something.”
Plonking the last of the pots in the warm water, you pause to let it soak while you straighten your back. “You first, then.”
Sam rubs his neck, a crooked smile playing on his lips. “Don’t hit me, ‘kay?”
Why would I-? Your train of thought is derailed as he leans in to kiss you gently on the mouth. He tastes a bit of chili from the dinner but mostly he tastes like you’d imagined. It’s warm and soft and a little bit shaky and you gather that he’s more nervous than you had realized.
“Finally,” you hear a mutter from the other room as he pulls back, leaving you stunned for a second.
You finish the dishes in silence, the occasional shoulder bump enough to keep the jittery excitement in your guts going, before rejoining the others for some cozy chatting about everything and nothing.
...
Sitting in the couch, leaned up against Sam’s heat for the millionth time in your life, you find yourself tiring out after today’s trip and the stress of keeping up pretenses.
“[Y/N],” he whispers against the top of your head, “you’re falling asleep?”
You shake your head to clear your mind of the fog. “I think I am...sorry, guys”
Sarah looks over at their grandmother who’s nodding off in the chair. “No worries, I’m gonna drive Nan home and you guys just go to bed.”
You bid your host and the old woman goodnight, surprising the latter with how late it has become, and then make your way up the stairs following Sam.
He leads you into the guest room where your bag is already waiting by the end of the double bed.
Well, almost a double bed because in reality it’s more like a 1½ man. It’s gonna be tight. You’ve fallen asleep up against each other before, on the couch if a movie was boring or (in Sam’s case) if he was too tired after a mission to keep his eyes open. But this is different: actually getting in to a bed with the man seems like an almost impossible hurdle now that you’re facing it.
Sam doesn’t seem bothered. Moving the luggage to the floor, he whips the covers aside and then begins to strip down to his boxers. Flustered, you turn around. You’ve seen him shirtless before (and liked what you’ve seen) and you’re tempted to sneak a peek under the pretense of needing your PJ from your luggage...wait...you do need it and you have to find a way to change right there too. I can change in the bathroom. But Sam’s nephews are there, also getting ready to sleep. No, you have to change in here.
Brushing past Sam as he straightens from pulling off the jeans, you manage to keep your eyes on the target and find your sleepwear (not really a PJ but some old booty shorts and a t-shirt) before angling yourself to have your back to Sam again. Switching shirts is quick and effortless, peeling off the bra under the t-shirt goes easily too. It’s when you get to the point of shedding your jeans that your begin to hesitate, unwilling to reveal the black thong you’re wearing.
“I think the boys are done. Just gonna brush my teeth,” Sam mumbles and leaves the room.
It gives you the needed chance to finish changing clothes before you too grab your toothbrush.
About 10 minutes later you’re lying awkwardly next to Sam in the narrow bed. Arms and shoulders flush against each other, you can feel his heat and you’re certain he can hear your rapid heartbeat. Especially when he interlaces his fingers with yours and squeezes you hand.
“Hey, [Y/N]...thank you,” he mumbles, the usual bravado gone from his voice.
“You’re welcome,” you mumble back and almost mean it because never have you been so unsure of yourself or a situation.
As if picking up on your insecurity, Sam turns his head to look over, worry creasing his brow. “Y’know...I...it’s...” He can’t seem to find the words and just ends up sighing, leaning his forehead on your shoulder instead.
It takes a moment before you realize that he’s pressed his lips to your skin and goosebumps start racing along your limbs at the understanding of what he’s doing.
“Sam...”
“Sorry.”
He stops, beginning to pull away but you follow along until you’re lying on your side, pressed against him even more and looking down at the man you know you love but just don’t know how to tell it to.
“Don’t apologize...in the kitchen earlier...” How can I say this?
“You didn’t mind?”
There is hope in those obsidian-speckled eyes. Hope that lights up like stars when you you whisper that no, you didn’t mind it at all.
Softly, gingerly, he lifts a hand to cradle the back of your head and pull you closer. Gently, giving you time to refuse if that’s something you’d even be capable of considering. It’s not. Instead you follow, as if giving in to gravity and your lips meet for the second time.
This time it’s not a display for the sake of others and you can sense that it makes a world of difference because Sam takes his time to explore your lips before probing with his tongue. You love the way he tastes. Love the way he allows you to have control although he’s the one calling the shots right this moment. It isn’t until he giggles into your mouth that you realize that your hand has been wandering across his abdomen and along his side.
“That tickles,” he smiles at you.
“Sorry...didn’t mean to stop you.”
“No?”
“M-m,” you shake your head.
Sam smiles, “Then come here, babe.”
With strong arms, he pulls you up to straddle him and you immediately decide that it’s your new favourite place to be especially as he pulls you flush to his chest so you can snuggle up close, your nose buried in the crook of his neck. Yeah, I can get used to this.
“Hey...is it okay if it’s not play pretend anymore when we say we’re dating?” you hear Sam rumble.
“Very okay,” is your answer.

20 Author Questions
I was tagged by @blackbird-brewster and @tedwinisconfused :) (This took me too long haha)
1. How many words do you have on AO3?
I have 12 works, two are not finished, and the rest are mostly one-shots. I also have like 4 or 5 other works in my docs that I really need to finish.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
74,082!!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mostly criminal minds.
I do have a few fics from other shows, but that is just because every time two women look at each other for a couple of seconds, I like to write them being in love. I haven't necessarily watched the show they are from. And most of them are just sitting in my docs and will probably will stay there forever.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Happy birthday!
Bedtime stories
Home
Paris is lonely in the mornings
Hope (is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
YES!! Every. Single. One.
My heart melts every time I see that someone commented on one of my fics. I would love to hug every person who takes the time to comment on one of my fics and give them a little kiss on their forehead, but I can't. The only thing I can do is reply to those comments and let them know how much it meant to me! :)
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I haven't written much angst that I like enough to post. And I usually write more hurt/comfort than angst, but I have a few of them.
The angstiest I have written so far is Paris is lonely in the mornings or (and if I didn't know better) I'd think you were still around. But I think once I finish the jemily fic I'm writing based on Is it over now? they won't be the angstiest anymore :).
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Like I said, I usually write hurt/comfort or just fluff, so I don't which one has the happiest ending, but here are the softest fics I have written: Personal prayer, Home, Happy birthday! and When Elle falls in love.
Not the happiest ending as such because it isn't finished yet, but my Elle fic Hope (is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have) is on its happy Elle face, and it will have a happy ending.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I haven't (and I'm really grateful because I wouldn't know how to react, to be honest).
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I have written a few fics with smut, but I haven't written enough to know what I like to write if that makes sense.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I have. But in the sense of taking a character from another show/movie and making them appear in a fic of another one. Most of the time, I make them into a sort of original character and keep their name.
11. Have you ever had a fiction stolen?
Nope.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
(Unless you count me translating them into Spanish and keep that somewhere in my docs and forgetting they exist until months later and then delete them. I don't know why I do this because even though Spanish is my first language, I haven't really written in Spanish for years.)
13. Have you ever co-writtten a fic before?
Nope. I don't think I'd be able to because I write the ideas that have been stuck in my mind, but I can't explain them until they are finished (I don't know if it makes sense).
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Jemily!! I love them so much!
I also love Elle with any other female character, and lately, I've been writing more of Elle/JJ and Elle/Emily.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have too many WIPs in my docs, and I hope to finish all of them, but I don't know if I will or when I will.
One I don't know if I will finish, and it breaks my heart because I really loved it at first, is one about Emily in Paris when she is "dead," and although I wanted it to have a happy ending, it is pretty angsty, and I don't have the energy to go back to it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
If I am writing a fic about a little idea I had, I have all the details of what I want to write in my head and in a little notebook I take everywhere. I think I'm pretty good at describing the emotions the characters are feeling. So that, I guess.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
It usually takes me so long to write, but in the I can write 70% of something in 4/5 hours but spend twice the time for the other 30% way. I always have too many things in my brain, so focusing on just one to write is the most difficult thing sometimes, and my dyslexia won't let me write the things I want to write in a way that makes sense.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I love it, but when it is a language I don't know, I'm too scared to do it haha.
I do love to write some parts in Spanish in my fics.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
It was for a Spanish show about doctors that my best friend and I were obsessed with back when I was 11/12. After that, I would say a few other Spanish shows.
Criminal Minds was the first fandom I wrote that wasn't just for my best friend and me
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
I have an immense amount of love for Hope (is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have). That fic is my baby.
I also have a special love for The first step toward healing and Happy birthday! They are the first fics I wrote that I let other people read, and they are so special to me.

CHENFORD FIC UPDATES (AS OF 4.29)
Happy Weekend everyone! I hope you all had an amazing week and you find some time to relax! I’m very excited to get to my afternoon to work on more writing and editing!
The reason for this post is to give an update on two things: the fic I’ve been promising for months and a brand new fic idea that took control over my entire life.
NOTHING SEEMS TO BURN ME LIKE YOU DO
Tumblr media
Starting off with a fic I know you’ve seen me post about, promise to post, and then nothing ever came of it…I can finally say (and truly mean it!) that it’s coming tomorrow! As of right now the prologue is at 4K words and I have plenty more to go before I start editing all of it tonight. The reason why it’s taking me so long is because this prologue hasn’t felt like my best writing and the true inspiration for this story lies in the first chapter. I just keep telling myself that this part is just a bump in the road to where I want to be. I’m getting there!
To those who have been waiting, I apologize!
RHYTHM OF A WILD HEART
Tumblr media
This one came as a surprise to me last night and wouldn’t leave my thoughts until I did something with it. It’s inspired by a show that Eric was on in the 2000s and I had to make his storyline into a Chenford one. I always told myself I didn’t want to be a fic writer with more than one ongoing fic posted at a time, but I can’t discipline myself to just having one focus. The first chapter is already outlined and will be writtten/posted once the first chapter of “Nothing Seems to Burn Me Like You Do” is posted. With my record, that seems ages away but because I’m far more excited about the first chapters to both of these fics I think they’ll be out faster.
For DTS for fic updates and chapter teasers, you can visit this tweet thread!
Again, thank you so much for being patient with me and I hope you’ll enjoy Tim and Lucy in these alternate universes!

20 author questions
Tagged by @yourlocaldisneyvillain, thank youuuu
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
1, lol
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
6199 words
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Carterwood
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
well...
Of scars and fresh blood, with an enormous amount of 15 kudos!!!!
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
All of them. I don't like when I leave a comment and the author doesn't reply, so I reply. And that's why I have more comments than kudos.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Well... Of scars and fresh blood this is a hurt/hurt fanfiction, no comfort and major character death so. Yeah, kinda angsty?
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I don't have a fic with a happy ending on AO3, I do however have some fics with happy endings on Tumblr, like Hide and Need, but they aren't good at all. You can check on my profile but I hate every single fic I wrote before my Carterwood one.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
nope. I mean, Gwen fandom used to be the kindest fandom, everything I wrote, even trashy, was welcomed with a lot of love. After some drama™ happened, I kinda decided to go because... Ugh. I don't like drama. And now I am in a dead fandom, with 2 people and a shoelace (I am the shoelace)
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I try. The kind that isn't smut but more spicy romance.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
nope, never and I usually don't like them.
11. Have you ever had a fiction stolen?
Lol, who would want to steal my fanfictions? My Gwen ones are terrible and my Carterwood one... has 15 kudos.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
well technically my first first first fanfictions were since I wrote them in French before translating them in English. Then I did translate (from English to French this time) the Path of Poisons (an abandonned multichapter Larissa/oc fic)
13. Have you ever co-writtten a fic before?
curently doing it! with the amazing @tanith-rhea, we're working on Agent Carter season 3 (the first chapter isn't finished yet so... it won't be there until a long time loool)
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
????? I don't know? I changed a lot my tastes about ships since... Well I'm still young™ so I didn't spend much time in communities, and the ones I was in before were... Straight ships I don't like now. BUT there is this one ship. About a French/Belgium comic no one knows about. That is very specific to two of the books in the series. Nastasia Wardynksa and Francis Blake. Of course I had to ship them. It's a middle school ship so yeah, it's straight, but I still love it. It's one of my comfort ships and there is 0 work about it, I have a whole story about it in my head but won't write it because... why doing it?
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Oh! A LOT of them. Like... prolly all of them, I don't feel like writing these days (actually I want to write but I just don't manage to do it)
16. What are your writing strengths?
idk lol
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Dialogues? Characterisations? Descriptions?
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
UGH STOP WRITING IN FRENCH PLEASE!!!! Or at least ask some French speakers because sometimes it's just... I want to cry but it's cute and it can be great but most of the time it's terrible like... "ma chérie fille" as a translation of "my darling girl"... NO. Just NO. it'd be "ma fille chérie", and NO, because it's for your literal CHILD so NO.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Warrior Cats I was 10 and I had a note book I would FILL with a fanfiction and I wanted it to be an actual book
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
Of scars and fresh blood. The only acceptable one I have.
Idk who to tag so tagging anyone who wants to be.

2. What's your total AO3 word count? 197,526
3. What fandoms do you write for? I have many fandoms but the main ones I write for are: American Horror Story, Doctor Who, Abbott Elementary, Sweeney Todd, Rebecca, and anything Gwendoline Christie
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Sanguinem Miseria- Resident Evil Village
Malum Miseriae- Wednesday
Misery by Design- American Horror Story: Apocalypse
Mrs. Fletcher Lives for a Day- Mrs Fletcher
Misery Business- American Horror Story: Hotel
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I usually do! Mostly because I'm still stunned that people even like my writing.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Ooooh I don't actually know... maybe Sanguinem Miseria. Or maybe Miss Me, a Sweeney Todd oneshot
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Mrs. Fletcher Lives for a Day for sure
8. Do you get hate on fics? actually no, not so far.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I do every now and then.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I do! Craziest crossover I ever did was Sweeney Todd and Harry Potter. It wasn't what you think. Something about Bellatrix's daughter and Narcissa ending up back in time because of a time turner incident.
11. Have you ever had a fiction stolen? Not that I know of?
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? I did have someone ask to translate one of my fics. Not sure if it ever went through though
13. Have you ever co-writtten a fic before? started to, but it fell through. I honestly work better alone.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship? Sweenett. Toxic and unhealthy as it should be!
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Cubitum Eamus. It was for Once Upon a Time: after marrying King Leopold, his eldest daughter, Rose Red returns to the castle and she and Regina end up falling in love.
16. What are your writing strengths? Um... I don't actually know! Someone tell me what my writing strengths are!
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I get too invested in one specific idea and never actually think about how the story should go to get to that point. And then I get bored and stuck because I didn't think things through and end up just deleting.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I'm all for it if you know the language enough. Otherwise I think it's worth just doing a simple "blah blah blah" he said in Spanish kind of deal.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Sweeney Fucking Todd
20. Favorite fic you've ever written ooooh I don't actually know. I only reread some of my work. Right now I think my favorite is Malum Miseriae. I love the twist, I love the little foreshadowing bits I sprinkled in.

The Nanny with Benefits (Poly!Barhoun)
Do you get hate on fics?
Yup. Usually it’s not as an actual reply because people are cowards and like to hide behind the gray anon face. It generally doesn’t bother me.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Sure do! Mainly reader insert, but all kinds of kinks, there’s not much I won’t write.
Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Oh very much so! I think the craziest one would be the Elizabeth Keane x reader x Hether Dunbar. Just cause of logistics lol.
Have you ever had a fiction stolen?
Yup. And major thanks to the person who alerted me of it.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I know of!
Have you ever co-writtten a fic before?
I haven’t. I do give a lot of thanks to my mutuals for spitballing and helping come up with ideas for stuff. I have talked about co writing things but considering real life taking up so much time I doubt it would happen.
What's your all-time favorite ship?
Calvak. Barhoun.
What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Unexpected Circumstances. It was one of the very first things I ever wrote and I don’t have any motivation to get back to lol
What are your writing strengths?
Characterization, constantly coming up with ideas, lots of inspiration, I do think I’m pretty good at what I do lol
What are your writing weaknesses?
Real life burnout draining me to the point of no motivation. Also the adhd not being able to focus. Not to mention, too many ideas sometimes does fuck me over lol
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Like it. If I need something on the fly I usually just use google translate and hope for the best, but if it’s for more than that I’ll reach out to someone who speaks it.
First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter lol
Favorite fic you've ever written?
Serendipitous Secrets and Surprises
Classified Affairs
Her Everything.
