"What if they skipped dinner?"

Tim is in his small, metro office, working late on a homicide case. There is a light knock on the door, "Hey, Tim, it's me" Lucy calls out from the other side of the door. Tim's head shoots up almost immediately, "Uh, come on in Chen!". Tim puts his paperwork back into his desk as Lucy walks in, already in her civilian clothes."Hey" she sighs, shyly."Hey" he replies, looking her up and down.She approaches him, keeping cautious, "I get why you're angry. Even though you were miserable as court liaison and I spearheaded an almost impossible five-player trade to save you... I shouldn't have done it all behind your back.""Is that an apology?" Tim questions"Yes" Lucy replies"Alright""No! Look, because you never would've let me work my magic if I had told you, and then I would have ended up transferring to another station to save you from yourself, and...this worked out so much better. And if you can't see that, I'm sorry not sorry.""Okay. I accept you non-apology" Tim laughs"Good""Good""So are we going to dinner or what?" Chen asks"We are. But uh, your outfit is missing a little something" Tim replies, reaching for his desk drawer"What?" Lucy questions, as Tim opens the drawer, pulling out a little black box"Happy Valentine's Day" Bradford says, handing Lucy the boxHe smiles as she opens it, a hint of curiosity in her eye"Oh, wow! It's beutiful. Did you pick this out youself?" She says, pulling out a small golden necklace"I did, is that shocking?" Tim asked, reaching out to offer to put the necklace on Lucy"No. You clearly have good taste" she says, pulling her hair away for Tim can clasp the necklace "Thank you""Do you wanna skip dinner" Lucy asks, almost a whisper"What would we do?" Tim asks, already knowing her answer...

tim's dressing up as santa for the kids this year and lucy's gonna be just a little too into it.

Lucy is still riding the high of the Captain’s compliments and she is nearly skipping by the time she’s leaving the station, torn between inviting Jackson to celebrate at the new Mexican place on her block or opting for a few beers and an early evening hike, feeling completely invincible due to the compliments from a woman she admires so much.

Her plans take an unexpected turn when she bumps into Lopez in the hallway. The other woman thrusts a plastic bag containing hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap into Lucy's arms, causing her to fumble the bottles in confusion.

“Your TO, your responsibility, boot.” Lopez instructs, her tone authoritative,  “I got Bradford the stuff to get the smell out but I’ve got a date so he’s your problem now.”

“Oh I actually have pla-“ 

“He’s in the locker room!” Lopez waves an airy, dismissive hand as she makes her way out of the precinct, a handsome blonde man happily following behind her, leaving Lucy really no option but to follow her directions.

Lucy knocks on the men’s locker room door and pushes it open a crack, “Tim?” 

“In here, Lopez!” Came his response. 

"Not Lop-" Lucy starts, then stops abruptly as she enters and finds Tim standing there, fresh from the shower, clad only in a towel, and glaring at an empty can of tomato juice as if it had personally offended him.

Tim only looks mildly perturbed by it being his boot delivering the goods and not his friend. He shifts his towel so it’s higher on his hips and Lucy does everything she can not to follow the dip of his hips down into the fabric. Her TO is hot, she isn’t immune to that. What worries her is exactly how attractive she finds him.

New Fic Alert

Coming soon to an AO3 near you. I just have to figure out exactly where I want the story to go, (other than the bedroom, because really it’s just an excuse for smut) Takes place before the start of the show, when Lucy is still in college and Tim is still a TO and reeling from Isobel disappearing on him. It is not canon compliant, but only off a little. Here’s the first paragraph, let me know what you think..

Tim knew he should have busted the brothel and hauled everyone into booking, but he just didn’t have the energy. Shutting the place down was his original plan when he found it while chasing down a suspect, but then there was a foot chase and tackling the man to the ground. He was even spit on. All while his current rookie fell over his own feet trying to go around the block. This boot was not going to make it through training.  By the time he had finished all the paperwork and changed out at the end of shift all he wanted was to relax. Somehow that had landed him back here, but for a very different reason.
