Happy 10th Anniversary to Welcome to Night Vale (and gravity falls) to everyone! To commemorate this occasion, I joined a bunch of artists to make a anthology zine (Link below), making this little piece for it! I'm working on another stand-alone thing also celebrating this anniversary but for now enjoy carlos :)

Personal Update! (idk if I wanna do these more or not)

Currently attempting to binge both Welcome to Nightvale and The Magnus Archives (WtNV while drawing, TMA on walks). I am particularly interested in eldritch/surrealist/cosmic horror media with queer themes, so if you have any recommendations send them my way! 

It’s 2023! The passage of time, the greatest horror of all!!!! For new years resolutions, I want to have at least one completed zine and one short story/screenplay by the end of the year. I have a lot of ideas bouncing around but terrible at committing to creative projects, so that’s what I’m working on this year.

For you guys I’ve recently finished rewatching The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals and Black Friday: The Musical (the latter didn’t like as much as the first, which I definitely recommend). Both are free to watch on Youtube on StarKid Productions official YT. I have continued intermittently relistening to BitB, whichissogoodyouguyspleasethefirstepisfree

Realated to the tags on your last post, now I can't stop thinking of Cecil getting involved in all the town gossip and sticking his nose in situations that are none of his business in the name of 'journalism'. Someone questions why he's listening in on their private conversation and he just replies "I'm a journalist, clearly you don't understand the importance of my job."

He for sure always ends up in places or situations that he's not supposed to be in. I think he and Earl got into all sorts of pickles growing up because Earl couldn’t say no to Cecil and Cecil would always get them in trouble for like, breaking and entering, for catching a cheating spouse, finding out the high school DOES have a pool and a sea creature lives there who pays rent and is a single mother, etc.

All of Night Vale is used to his nosy behavior, and they find it amusing, up until its THEIR business being blasted in the radio. I think cecil thinks if he hears/sees something, he 100% has every right to put it on the radio— shit is free real estate and hes economizing. also i live in a small town, and EVERYONES a gossip, even if by proxy— so i bet cecil uses the excuse of “well everyone was going to find out anyways!!!” often

i also think cecil would very seriously crouch down and interview like, a seven year old about the monster they think is living in their closet (it actually is) and about how the tater tots at school are always soggy and he’d listen and nod and take notes and make them feel listened to, and then dutifully report it. carlos witnesses this exhange and its one of the reasons he decides to tell cecil he wants to have a kid with him
