What We Do In The Shadows say Nandor and Guillermo couldn’t have possibly had a sexual relationship because of how close they are. That their relationship together and bond is so deeply rooted that it goes beyond the need for anything sexual. (Even though you can be in a romantic relationship and not have to have sex.) Because they’re vampires they see above all of that kind of stuff and just want to feel a connection, like Nandor and Guillermo supposedly has…even though Nadja and Laszlo are madly in love but still have a healthy sex life. But just because they’re vampires, doesn’t mean they can’t be in love!

Look at these two little vampire freaks. They’re in love! They’re vampires! And they still go to pound town! Lestat and Louis obviously don’t have a healthy relationship, but honestly at most parts in WWDITS neither did Nandor and Guillermo. Both relationships probably wouldn’t have the healthiest boundaries and such but the point I am trying to make is that they still love each other. Lestat and Louis have a bond that is far beyond romantic, especially since they have the maker/creation relationship seen in most vampire media going on. But they are still in love.

I personally am asexual, but I still fall in love with my partners, a relationship does not have to be sexual, for it to still be romantic. I am sick and tired of that excuse being used to just not show a couple being visibly queer. Nandor and Guillermo could’ve easily still had a sweet and passionate kiss, and the next episode be about Nadja burning down an office building and Laszlo talking about his beloved witch hat.

Basically, you can’t use the excuse that they’re vampires, they see past romance like that. Oh, they would never have sex so therefore they’re never ever getting together. There is no way the show could still be funny and be a sitcom if we let them be together WHEN THERE IS INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE DOING EXACTLY THAT. OK maybe not the sitcom but you get what I mean.

Even with the example of sitcoms, you can have a slow burn, will they, won’t they, friends to lovers, any of those situations, and it still be a sitcom. Nearly every single sitcom show out there has one because it’s funny and sweet to watch it unfold over the seasons.

ALL OF THESE! Rachel and Ross, Jake and Amy, Jim and Pam, Nick and Jess. They’re all slowburns that happen in a sitcom. All of them. And guess what? They got together, they kissed, and the show went on! It wasn’t awkward or anything, so genuinely I do not understand why they just…wouldn’t let Nandor and Guillermo be together.

I think it might be fun to have the Wellington vampires (Deacon, Vladislav, Viago and Nick) finding out their ‘human’ friend is actually a witch/warlock.

I’m picturing chaos, weird assumptions and begrudging acceptance

“Bewitched”

Author’s note: I will be using the word witch in a gender neutral way. This is my first piece of writing in almost six months. I tried my best. Enjoy!

* You’ve been friends with the Wellington vampires for quite a long while now.

* It all started back when you were working at a blood bank and found a group of four men trying to steal several packets of fresh blood.

* Viago tried his best to hypnotise you, but since you’re not human, it didn’t work. And yet, you pretended it did and just let them go, because you weren’t paid enough to care. And who are you to judge, if you often steal the same packets for your spells and potions.

* Having learned that you are rather easy to convince, they came back again… and again… and again and again until you got fired.

* But at least now you had a few new friends.

* Viago, Vladislav and Deacon were 100% sure that you didn’t have a clue that they were vampires, while Nick and Stu quickly understood that you caught on to their lies and just kept playing along.

* However from your normal person appearance and behaviour none of them realised a real witch was right under their nose.

* That is, until one time Vladislav needed to unlock an enchanted book he found in the beast’s library (for porn obviously) and you casually offered your help with that.

* After finding out your true origins as a witch each vampire had a different reaction.

* Nick immediately assumed that it’s the coolest thing ever and kept asking you if it’s any similar to Harry Potter. He started often coming to you in order to ask whether this or that mundane problem can be solved with a spell. Most of the time the answer is no, but he still asks.

* Viago was very upset that you didn’t tell them right away, because he considered that a lie and a betrayal of trust. However, once you apologised, he quickly forgave you and asked if there is any way you could make Katherine’s necklace not burn his skin.

* Vladislav generally didn’t care that much, but it did make him less tense in your presence, since he realised he can’t drink your blood. However, he still sometimes quietly wonders if you’re friends with them just to steal their sperm later.

* Deacon had the most emotional reaction. His past with witches wasn’t great to say the least and he got very angry, almost starting a fight with you. He would make very mean comments about your witch origins (and get scolded for it by Viago). And yet, after a while, he’ll just slowly drop it. Yes, this might not be his perfect outcome, but you’re still you. Witch or not, you are his friend and he doesn’t have a lot of those, so he cherishes each one even though he’ll never admit it.

* In the end, everyone just accepts the truth as it is and stuff goes back to normal.

* Just like with werewolves, it takes one positive example for the vampires to realise that witches aren’t all that bad!
