a/n: i'm currently replaying xc3 and just got to the city part, so posting this now is perfect timing~

shania didn't know at which point things started to go wrong. maybe when you started to spend more time with ghondor than with her. maybe when she had made up her mind about betraying the city. 

shania always thought that the two of you were meant to be. yet somewhere along the way, you lost what you had. all those memories you two shared were now a bitter reminder of what once was and of what could've been. 

but you two chose different paths. you sided with ghondor and the city, while shania betrayed them. no matter how many times shania would get reborn, she knew that there would never be a life again in which she got to be by your side. she lost you for good the day she betrayed the city…

You know, I feel a little disappointed in Sena’s side quest.

It feels like she got sidelined hard, and this was more of a Ghondor AQ 2.0.

And I’m not saying Ghondor shouldn’t have been a central figure when dealing with Shania. Obviously she needs to be there. But this was Sena’s side story and it felt like she would say a couple lines and then Ghondor would completely take over.

I was expecting more from their parallels, between her and Mio, and Ghondor and Shania.

I don’t know. I’m just kind of disappointed I suppose. Sena’s easily in the running for my favorite and she just… doesn’t get a whole lot.

I feel like the rest of the hero quests and ascension quests have been so good and really let that character shine… and this one just… really didn’t give Sena her moment.

Maybe I’m just missing something.

when shania started dating you, she was happy just having you in her life

she didn't demand you show interest in her art, she was content just being your girlfriend without necessarily showing interest in the same things

but when you went over to her place and got a good look at all the paintings your girlfriend created, you couldn't help but praise shania for it

she froze in place when she first heard you compliment her, almost crying out of happiness, before averting her gaze and trying to play it off

so far, there hadn't been many people in her life that showed interest in her art

her mother had always despised it, making shania worry she wasn't good enough or that she was just wasting her time

but hearing you praise her and getting to see how genuinely interested you were in it made her happier than she could've ever imagined!

shania quickly started to show you all she had worked on so far, the two of you sitting down on her bed, while you flicked through the stack of paper

she couldn't stop smiling as she told you the story behind each painting, explaining what brushes she used and how she composed the colors

when you two got to the paintings of other people, you jokingly asked shania when she'll paint you

of course that idea had crossed her mind before, but shania never really considered asking you, thinking you probably wouldn't be interested in it

she carefully asked if you truly would want her to paint you and when you said yes, she could barely contain her happiness

since you were already there, shania had you pose for her, letting you sit on a chair in the middle of the room as she worked on the sketch

as she painted you, the two of you were talking a bit and shania told you about all her ideas for future paintings

perhaps she could even attempt to paint the two of you together at some point…
