…people are mad that Percy didn’t befriend a titan that tried to kill him? Why would he even want to? They are not friends, Percy just said they were so a huge ass titan wouldn’t feel compelled to start attacking them again, kinda like no worries all good and safe here.

Bob wasn’t worthy of that friendship until he tried to help him, at that point Percy was so overcome with guilt for lying to him about being friends he confessed everything and accepted death as punishment for being a bad friend. He didn’t get mad at bob, blame him for needing to be dunked in the Lethe in the first place (you know since he was trying to kill him, Nico, and Thalia, which makes him completely at fault for losing his memory), didn’t defend himself in any way just asked that bob save Annabeth at the very least?

As I understand it bob didn’t hold it against him for long? He did come back and save him and Annabeth, and even sacrificed himself so they could get out. Overall, became a better version of himself, but like before all that, why would Percy go back and talk to him??

I’m so fuckin sick of people in blue states writing off the south and belittling people who still live here saying shit like “why would anyone even live there” or “just leave” or “it’s what they get for living there.” I live in Alabama because it’s my fuckin home. My family is here. I was born and raised here and have love for this state even tho it doesn’t have any love for me. The state government doesn’t reflect my ideals or beliefs or my ideologies, but my still living here doesn’t mean I’ve gotten what I deserve when the government passes some bullshit ass law. Plus, if you want things to change for the better, there’s got to be people still here pushing for that change. Writing off everyone who still lives in a state like this as uneducated and ignorant and beneath you ignores how diverse the state actually is, how many organizations fighting to improve the state, how many people want more than anything to see their home state love them back, for once. Not to mention that most people can’t just up and move away. That takes money and time and resources and not everyone has those resources.

I don’t know, I know this isn’t eloquent and it’s jumping all over the place but for the love of all that is good in this world, stop writing off people in southern states. We’re suffering as our state governments pass laws that set us back, but we’re still here and fighting how we can. We have responsibilities here, we have lives here, and we want our states to love us so we can love them as much as we wish we could.
