Bonne-Fortune Grocery Set

Published: 9-26-2023 | Updated: 9-28-2023 SUMMARY “The Bonne-Fortune series is the latest hit from Freezer Time Industries, receiving top honors at both FridgeCon and the ShinyThings, Inc. Expo. Give your store some retro-futuristic flair and bring all the customers to the yard!” This is a set of 13 moderately priced objects for grocery stores and other retail spaces. Shelves are designed to help you maximize space in/around displays, including a shelf (endtable OMSP) which holds objects at an angle. The set is intended to be modular but not too complicated – some assembly required (see below). Fridges function like shelves – so they won’t keep spoilable food from going bad. They have space for sale items and additional shelving but need to be shifted upward once. Several maxis-themed recolors and an invisible recolor (in case you need it for the carousel display) are included. Additional recolors are available on this site under the #ts2recolors and #co2recolors tags.

1) Place a refrigerator (remember to shift upwards once) or Carousel End/Center pieces (the carousel parts are deco; place end/center parts on the same tile). Use “move objects on/off” and/or “snap to grid true/false” cheats to add the second End piece to the carousel.

2) Use the same cheats to place shelves but make sure to add your sale items to them first. Adding items first makes things easier because if you try to put objects above a shelf with empty slots, the game may think you’re trying to put it on that shelf (including other shelves).

3) For the Carousel End Shelf (use it with the curvy part of the Carousel End), place an item on the shelf,  and shift it in place until the item looks like it is sitting on the carousel.

4) Take advantage of the invisible recolors OR use the OMSP Controller (select SilentLucidity OMSPs) to make this shelf invisible/visible as needed. Do NOT use the invisible recolor if you’d rather use the OMSP controller.

5) You may need the Tile Blocker to keep sims from walking through parts of the display (i.e. the carousel). It is included with the meshes and in the collection file. Just be sure that you place it between/behind whatever shelving you add to the carousel – don’t accidently block those shelves.

6) The Carousel Lite is OPTIONAL deco – place it on the same tile as the Carousel End/Center pieces. It is repo’d to the EverGlow Plutonium Rod (neon light) from the Nightlife EP. As you can see in the pics above, the default recolors emit colored light. Custom recolors will emit a soft glow, but no bold colored light.

7) Area Signs 001-002 are optional deco as well – place and shift them as needed.

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 8 Ep. 170: An Unplanned Winterfest

The family returned from their Oceanside adventure right before Winterfest, a Winterfest that Peachy and the other adults weren’t quite ready for.

Jack was determined to finally finish the treehouse in the backyard as a gift to their boy and he roped everyone into helping make his Winterfest dream a reality. After putting Luigi to bed, they worked through the night, finishing with just enough time to catch a couple hours of sleep.

Luigi woke them sooner than they would have liked, but everyone dutifully rose to show the excited little man outside and up to the top of his brand-new Sky Fortress. His excited musings about all the fun adventures he was going to have when the weather warmed made it all worthwhile.

Unfortunately, it seemed that working outside in the cold for hours had disagreed with at least one of the three older sims. Peachy wasn’t about to miss the big reveal, but as soon as they were back inside, he spun into his pajamas and headed upstairs to lie down.

When Jack came to check on his husband it was clear he felt positively awful. They had been planning to visit family and friends, but he really wasn’t feeling up to it. Jack understood, quickly texting everyone to let them know that they would have to reschedule for some other day.

Not long after he sent their regrets to Paul, he got a phone call from his old friend. He was sorry to hear that Peachy was feeling under the weather, but if Luigi and Jack were willing, he and his family would still love to see them and have them meet the twins.

Valentina offered to keep an eye on Peachy until they got back as she was not due in Tartosa for her kids until later that afternoon. Now assured that his spouse would be looked after Jack agreed and the duo headed out, arriving in Chestnut Ridge at the same time as August.

After they said hello to the newest members of the family Denton challenged his younger cousin to a voidcritter battle on his old gaming station while Paul, noticing Jack’s interest in their resident mare, encouraged him to give Misty a good workout over in the side yard.

Before they headed back home Paul insisted they stop by the nectar cellar where a few of Ed and Spencer’s very first bottles had just come of age.

While they drank, they shared memories of Winterfests past. Some tales were happy and others cautionary, with Paul advising young Luigi to keep his monster battles confined to his video games! So much less risky, as he could see from his father’s scar.

Luigi was fascinated to hear about the family fizz and nectar farms and all the interesting places the family’s juice was sold. August was especially excited to tell him about their sales at the intergalactic theme pack in Battu. He suggested they all take a trip there together some time.

August opted to head back to Brindleton with the boys to wish his ailing “twin” a happy Winterfest. They found peachy relaxing on the couch watching TV, feeling a little bit better after a nice long nap and a couple doses of medication.

Valentina headed out as they arrived. While August went into the living room to keep his brother company Luigi followed Papa Jack into the kitchen and lobbied hard for a grand meal consisting of his favorite breakfast foods.

Papa Jack saw no reason not to give his small man his favorite meal of the day for Winterfest dinner. He pulled out the eggs, bacon and flour and made some memories with his boy, showing him how to make several kinds of savory morning fixings.

With everyone’s belly full of greasy goodness, August headed home, letting a visiting Father Winter in on his way out.

While Luigi told the jolly old sim all about his new treehouse and his game with cousin Denton, Peachy thanked Jack for making their Winterfest bright.

i wanted to do more but at the same time..... i did get a couple of sims 3 eps at goodwill and yard sales. so i think i'll play those.

I’ve been watching really trashy TV as I clean - in this case Murder House Flip - and I love how obvious the fake narrative is.

First of all the show is misnamed. They are not flipping houses (ie renovating with the intent to up the price for sale) but rather fixing up a room or two for homeowners with no intention of leaving.

The gimmick obviously is that a murder happened in every home they work on, and they try to bring in some true crime elements to it all, but really the through line of each ep is “if we fix the house up the owners will forget about the brutal murder that happened in this place.”

What is interesting, and is keeping me watching, are how actually desperate for change these homeowners are (also they don’t seem to be paying for these renos, the show appears to have given the hosts a set budget for their work on each house).

They learned about these murders at varying points in their ownership. Some were told while closing on the house (so before things were finalized but while they were already invested) others were told about the crime after everything was finalized.

All of them were attracted to their particular home in the first place because it was surprisingly affordable for the area it is in/it’s size/etc.

Several episodes now have had the owners ask for specific places connected to the crimes committed in their home be what is changed and reclaimed for them.

Be it a couple who were told the murder weapon was still stashed bricked up in their fireplace so they wanted it gone (it wasn’t, the reno folks confirmed it while doing the demo), a couple who pointed to scratches on the bottom of a sink while explaining they had read up on the crime and saw the murderer had cleaned a knife there and they can’t stop thinking about that when they see the scratches so they need a new sink, so on and such forth (one house involved a teen who had grown up sleeping in the same room the previous family that lived there’s daughter was shot in when the father went on a murder suicide rampage, and she said she had lifelong nightmares as a result so like... honestly the reno folks giving her a really cool high end bedroom may not change the history of the room but it sure is something).

All of this is obs real, but what keeps getting me is the fake over the top THIS IS THE WORST MURDER IN A HOUSE WE HAVE BEEN TO YET the hosts do every single fucking episode. Like sure the Golden State Killer murdered a couple in this home. You’ve also been to and fixed up the personal home of another serial killer - one who killed people in her house and buried the bodies in her yard. So no, the house where those two people died is not THE WORST ONE YET compared to the yard you landscaped where Dorothea Puente had buried seven of her victims. Nor is the house where a guy’s throat was slit by his ex girlfriend and he bled out THE MOST SHOCKING CRIME you heard of when in a previous season you fixed up a house where a guy had sawed his wife into little pieces in the bathtub and was in the process of cooking her body parts on the stove when the police arrived (the neighbors had complained about the smell) and arrested him. AND YET every damn episode THE CRIME IS THE MOST SHOCKING ONE THE HOSTS EVER HEARD OF.

Also every damn time they do a reno in a room a murder took place in they claim to have found blood in the space and like, come on, stop being sensationalist about the stain you found while pulling up a ratty rug.
