Uh my rules for RP are a tiny bit strict but not in the way your probably thinking.

Im one of those "planning ahead" type of roleplayers who like to map out a scenario and key events before we begin and occasionally take pauses between major scenes to plot elements of the future. If you can handle that, then I'd say your golden! Im not picky with the length or detail in responses, as long as theres something to work with, I can usually move things along. The only other restriction i can think of is: when it comes to the sexualities of my characters, please respect them. Thats really it :)

I do platonic roleplays, adventure, romantic, and slice of life. I'm not much for action stuff unless its the spice thrown into the other types occasionally. I'm pretty flexible though, so we can talk about it individually if need be.

Oh, and no nsfw RP. I dont do s3x, and im not much for depicting "elicit substances" to put it lightly. Alc0hol might be the only exception, if its kept in small doses. If for some strange reason our characters end up in a s3xual scenario, we're skipping to the aftermath.

Ooo new dorm arrangements! It made sense to me imo. Ive been a stay for a weird amount of time: started in 2019 and im on and off every other year. I usually listen to bands like ptv, sws, and bmth, uhhh... kinda the music my emo friends listened to in the early 2010s, so i end up coming and going.

Anyways, i remember watching "finding skz" and the survival show back in 2019/2020, and i think it's mentioned that when they all lived in one dorm, I.N. tends to clean up after them, but i think it was implied it was more like "maknae's chores." If my memory is still intact, I.N. everyones favorite roommate bc he's pretty organized and has good style... and he's the youngest, so they can dote on him but also boss him around lmao. Chan was the one most of them wanted to avoid rooming with purely bc he's not only organized, but he was strict on them and their leader, so he had the right to boss them around. They werent all familiar with each other on a personal level back then, just on a professional level, so it was kinda like rooming with your boss in a way lol. His tendency to go naked around the dorm and dote on them probably also contributed to that reason, but it was still really early in their career so they were reluctant to mention anything too """"scandalous"""" on camera. But yeah, those two together fit, especially now, since they've gotten to know each other a lot better and have chilled out.

Minsung together, obviously. I don't see them as clingy with each other as a lot of people seem to think. They're comfortable, secure, and read each other well. They dont necessarily need each other to live, but it's certainly much, much better together.

Changbin and Hyunjin. An emotionally aware person with a really emotional person. Changbin likes to play up his "crush" on Hyunjin for the camera, but i think he knows everyones boundaries enough to know when to reel it back. They seem to accommodate for each other and are still getting to know each other better, but then again, im not at all caught up on everything and dont know any of them personally lmao

Felix and Seungmin... for some reason, they seem both more emotionally attached yet also more emotionally distant than I see stay mentioning. The company's really pushing the "Felix is not human, he's a fairy" idea for a while now, and from an outsider's view, hes very pretty and im sure hes a very sweet person, but it looks a bit... tiring keeping that up.. and Seungmin is known for his "do what i want" attitude, especially lately with his "aiming for jyp" comments, and whatnot... idk where im going with this.... uhh ... well, i think their place is just them chilling. Just dudes being bros and getting a strong sense of being normal guys without the company rules on their image and being casual with each other. "Its not that deep until it is" vibes where they'll do the dude thing and not talk about their feelings much when they hang out, but every now and then, they'll let it all out, but its pretty rare.

their name is rene!! i alternate between using she and they for them, but that’s really just because im too used to mc being given they/them pronouns that it sticks lmao. she’s nonbinary though, dresses like an eboy and has a fuckugly mullet from (badly) cutting her own hair.

she’s way too laidback and apathetic, so when it clicked for her that she really was in an exchange program in hell and not having some weird dream she just kind of shrugged and accepted it, which wigged lucifer out a lot. her life in the human realm wasn’t the best, so as a sort of defense mechanism she ended up learning that the best way to deal with unwanted situations is to just passively let it happen.

as for her first impression of the brothers, she only really had interesting first impressions with three of them:

she hated lucifer pretty much immediately. his pride and the way he treats everyone around him intimately reminded her of a parent she has a bad relationship with, and as a result she kind of ends up being satan 2.0 where she goes out of her way to rebel against him and constantly tests the boundaries of exactly how much she can get away with, being an exchange student that diavolo wants protected at all cost.

her and mammon also fought like cats and dogs at first, but in a different way than with lucifer. if her and lucifer were a strict father and his unruly kid, then mammon was that kid that she constantly got in trouble for fighting with at the playground NGJMDSKAGNFMDSA. their fights were really childish and lacked any real bite.

belphie is the only other brother she had a really distinct first impression with. he was able to charm her easier than most demons because sloth is her biggest sin. instead of the attic meetings, most of her conversations with belphie happened in her dreams. belphie was probably who she was immediately closest too, but not in a good way. it was a really toxic friendship where they enabled each other’s worst qualities

the rest of the brothers she actually had a pretty normal acquaintanceship with? they werent really friends Yet, but they got along well enough and didnt get closer until their respective pacts.

but romance wise, she only has a canon romantic relationship with mammon. if it wasnt obvious shes um. more or less a self insert that ive kind of tried molding into being a (hopefully?) interesting oc in its own right, and im personally not super comfortable with the idea of dating family members at the same time (not that theres anything wrong with people whose mcs do date them all! its a personal preference thing for me), so she doesn’t ever canonically get together with anyone else.

however i am also a huge sap and i love literally everyone in this game so much so i do have a lot of “what-if” aus where she gets together with asmo, simeon, and belphie. theyre each sort of their different aus though instead of anything substantial

Let's talk about the Timephoon Episodes

This is such an old topic of discourse but after reading many fanfics, videos, and some posts on the subject I have found little divergent takes on the whole subject.

While commentators are of the mind that, for the most part, the punishment and execution of said punishment for Louie's actions were partially if not fully justified but how she went about it was wrong.

Some fanfic writers and some subsects of the fandom but they are much more critical and often in a more black and white interpretation. Which is valid for vent art. However, I find both these portrayals to be lacking in some nuance.

Specifically when it it comes to who's to blame for the next 3 episodes, and to me, its more than just Della (and Louie but there really isn't much discourse here).

Let's start with Timephoon:

This pretty much solidifies their relationship throughout the episode[Also sorry for no captions]. Multiple times Della is shown to have a very laissez faire style of parenting as she primarily wants her kids to enjoy being kids and having fun. This is probably in part to her personality in general - which is probably what Beakley assumes here - however it is also her want to be loved by her children and even more critically, she doesn't ever want them to suffer like she did. Above all else, she wants them to be happy and feel confident in themselves. We see this in all the previous episode with her and her kids - From Dewey and reassuring him that he doesn't need to prove himself to her [notably in this episode she only shows concern when Dewey himself is in danger, she doesn't give a shit when he almost kills her] to Huey and helping him to have the most fun he possibly can, to even Webby and making sure that she also feels confident in herself regardless in how she goes about things.

Bringing up all these adventures does raise some pretty damning hypocrisy. Della encourage Dewey's reckless behavior in his episode. The lesson at the end wasn't, okay maybe we shouldn't be going on dangerous adventures, it was its okay to be afraid and you don't need to prove to me that you're great I already know you are. Huey's message was similar, albeit more low stakes. Webby's lesson wasn't even that she shouldn't be trying to take such risks to find adventure in the future, it was just a lesson in not being disappointed when things don't work the way you want.

So why wasn't Louie's adventure treated the same? Well... let's look at some more examples of Beakley V Della this episode before we answer that -

This is right before the kids find Bubba, Beakley's reaction is what most people would consider to be parental as she is concerned for the safety of the kids running out in a hurricane. Again we see Della acting casual.

Once Bubba is inside and Huey geeks out about him, Beakley actually smiles bc she knows that something like this means a lot to Huey [keep this in mind for l8r]. She only gets serious after Della says it's neat without much after thought so she gives the lesson of the episode - "Small problems become big problems later if not prevented early."

Next we have Della's faux attempt at being strict with her kids. Letting the irresponsible thing happen as long as they are "safe". While also harkening back to her previous episodes where she also is shown to have this attitude that "the kids can do anything as long as they are safe with ME or Scrooge or another SAFE adult", it is also good to note SCROOGE'S expression here to her patting herself on the back for her parenting. Now he could just be confused as to why Della is taking this "lesson" as a win, but he could be noticing that she really doesn't know what she is doing but unlike Beakley doesn't make any attempts to correct this.

Another scene that people often forget when reviewing this episode, just like with all her other kids she at first takes LOUIE'S side and decides they should just roll with the punches like always. Which honestly is sort if valid because that's kinda Scrooge's whole MO; though he also had others to there to keep him afloat but we all know someone like Scrooge, Della, and the kids hardly see that. I also want to hammer home that, just like with the other boys, she doesn't shy away from displaying that she loves them ALL. A few seconds later, it's subtle but she is shown smiling and patting Louie on the head because like the other kids she just wants him to feel supported. If I was to be critical, I would say this is possibly because she likes the IDEA of her boys more than them but I mean - this is pretty much everyone's attitude towards kids. It might be amplified bc of her trauma but it's not unusual. But even still I would argue that she mainly does love the boys for who they are as she is excited to get to know them.

After Della figures that they are looking for a "master thief", Scrooge and Beakley immediately know it's one of the kids. Shocking her since she later states she is of the belief that her kids are too "good" to do something like this. I also want to bring attention, again, to Beakley smiling (ik im putting a lot of stock into expressions but animation tends to do stuff like this for a reason). She is smiling at whom she expects is Dewey for messing with time and space. Bc even if she planned to scold him, she knows it's just their normal. Scrooge seems to also be of the same mind. Later Beakley gives a really good line about "Even good kids can do dumb things. We got to make sure those dumb things don't turn into bad things like destroying all of existence!".

Mrs. B exists stage right

All jokes aside, this must have been a nightmare for all of them but especially Della. She had just finally admitted that she was out of her depth and made another mistake in parenting. But now it seems like she lost her chance to rectify that. Because for all she knows, Mrs. B will never come back. This is import-ALLRIGHTWEGETIT

Della is then shown explicitly worried about her family. Emotions, insecurities and fear obviously getting the best of her. We don't know exactly what she is thinking but we know she is terrified of the possibility of losing one of her kids. When she asks about Louie, she probably thinks he must have disappeared without her knowing. That she might have already failed more than she could know, because she wasn't there to protect him. She is both relieved and understandably PISSED when finding that Louie was responsible for almost destroying the fabric of reality (let me say this again, nearly destroying the fabric of reality). She goes scold both herself and her son about the danger he put them in. Later we see Della, the last one leave and seeing almost everyone she loves vanish. We don't know how long each of the characters who left were in the past but we can assume it was long enough to have to change clothes. Yeah this was probably more of a visual gag but like, the other past characters didn't change their outfits when they came to the present so - (also Launchpad was specific about knowing how the world ends so he had to be there enough for him to understand it). Side note someones gotta write fanfic of these characters time misadventures. I wonder if Dewey and Webby ran into Agent 22.

Anyways, yeah we know what was said here. But I think it's important to see the reaction the other adults (sorry LP, and Gryo i GUESS) have here BC this is basically why I made this post. What Della decided to do was unquestionably the wrong decision, at least her way of going about it and I will not absolve her of her many MANY mistakes. However, let's remember she wasn't alone in any of this. She was with other parental figures who KNOW more about her kids than she does.

After Louie leaves, why did they think it was good to encourage this course of action? Why did they think giving full parental control to a PTSD, trauma survivor who barely got back less than a month ago was a good idea? Sure it's one thing to not want to overstep your boundaries but are you telling me they wouldn't want to guide her in the right direction at least? We KNOW both Beakley AND Scrooge have their grievences towards Della's parenting strategy or lack there of. Beakley so far doing the most to try and put her in the right direction (which speaks volumes to the problems Scrooge has).

So why wouldn't they explain that, hey, maybe taking away the one thing your kid thinks he is good at ISNT a great idea? Why didn't either say anything about their two day vacation? Something that came up presumingly on a whim and might of prevented (although i doubt it) Louie from trying to steal w/ time? He might have considered pushing back time schemes at least 3 days later. While Mrs. Beakley might be less aware of Louie's insecurities and ambitions, Scrooge definitely isn't. He should have talked to her, and hey we don't see what happens before they leave so maybe MAYBE they did. But again, I doubt it. Seeing as how they all agreed with her at the end, I don't see them trying to meddle with her.

But they should've. They are both experienced guardians and they have nothing to say to her? Plus Donald (goddamn it i almost finished a post w/o him) have THEM responsibility to take care of the kids NOT Della. So they are obligated to help her. Really, the other option other than just well negligence would be not thinking this punishment was a big deal. I wish this aspect was also scrutinized just as much as Della and Louies role in this arc.

Beakley and Scrooge (more so Scrooge) are just as much to blame in what happens as Della if not MORE since they know of her situation in only a way that an experience adult can. There is no excuse for their negligence.

I feel like everyone wants to put bts in like little boxes for their personalities which is ridiculous because they are multifaceted individuals with unique personalities that don't necessarily fit into any specific stereotypical roles.

Jin isn't necessarily super confident and self assured; he makes self deprecating jokes about himself a lot and has even said he faked the confidence to improve his self esteem and thats something he struggled with. Like everyone thinks the rap line is all closed off but like I feel like we know the least about Jin because he has specific boundaries he sets and he's firm with them and honestly I have so much respect for that.

Yoongi is usually either seen as a bad boy type or a soft boi. Which is crazy cause why can't he be both and yeah he has a hard time expressing himself verbally but his music and actions speak volumes. He's always looking out for other people and always trying to express gratitude to Army for everything we've done. He is very emotionally connected to fans and always tries to make personal connections. He doesn't need to be either soft or cold he just needs to be him and that's more than enough.

Hoseok, I feel like he just gives so much of himself all the time you everyone and I hope that behind the scenes he's being cared for. He always puts on a smile and pushes everyone to work hard and do their best even when he himself is struggling and that is so powerful. He's not always happy, no one is, and yet he will put in a mask so that people don't worry but Im sure around the rest of bangtan is when he lets his guard down and let's others into his heart. He gets teased for getting scared easily and for being strict with teaching dance but he's someone filled with so much emotion and I hope he's receiving as much as he gives because he never stops giving.

Namjoon is always seem as a leader. He's not the oldest he's not the best in all areas and he has flaws. He has had to overcome the doubt of others and his own self doubt to make bangtan what it is today and that's is amazing. He's so mature and determined despite his age, I mean he's not much older thane and when he started he was younger than I am now and I could never imagine doing what he does. He's helped guide this group to what it is now even when there have been mistakes and trouble he has always been strongm he's learned from mistakes and educated himself when he does mess up and always shows that he's changed and that he's grown from what he once was; growth is more admirable than apologizing, anyone can say sorry few can reflect on their own actions and make a change.

Jimin, when I first got into bangtan even I was like ' awwww sqishy cute tiny boiiiii'. And yes he is an adorable sweet person that often makes everyone fall in love. But he's also sassy, and witty and I feel like a lot of people miss that about him. Like he's not just eye candy he's a whole masterpiece of charm and wit. He's not just a pretty boy he's kind and caring and doesn't mind speaking up for others or himself. He's got fantastic vocals and beautiful dancing tat takes years of strict training to achieve and I feel like just labeling him as the cute soft one really diminishes him as a person.

Taehyung is known to be happy and a lot of people consider him to be a bit 4D in the sense that he seems to be on a different wavelength than others. Yet he has no problem showing his weakness to others, he has faced a lot of hard times while in bangtan and had to choose whether to openly express them or keep this to jimselfm he chooses to continuously share with us his struggles and asks for the support of fans and it is breathtaking each time reaching out and laying bare your struggles to strangers in hopes of comfort is such a daunting task. It's not that he is weird or 4D but rather he is very mindful of his words and actions, sometimes taking longer to process certain things and over thinking things that others may find simple; but it's not weird, it's a display of who he is as a person. He is so careful with his actions because he doesn't want to hurt others. He might be highly and dun and some may come to the conclusion that he's not on the smarter side and yet his mind is brilliant. He has a deep understanding and appreciation of art and works on his own skills as an artist to show us his progress and work as he grows more.

Jungkook is the youngest member. He's called perfect and golden and that is so much weight for a single person to hold. He was raised by the other members and grew up in an environment surrounded by six unique individuals all with different strong personalities. In him you can see a little bit of everyone else and then within that you see him as well. He's not just a muscle pig or a try hard; he's always supporting those who have taken care of him. He does his best to display the best parts of his hyungs, encouraging them and reassuring then when they need it most. Having always been called the golden maknae I'm sure brings a lot of pressure to be the best and I hope that the pressure doesn't hinder him in his growth. No one can be perfect. People make mistakes and have different skills. People tease him for his English scores in school but ignore that he scored so we'll in other areas, all the while he regularly trained for bts day in and day out. Slot of people attribute who he is to the other members and that's true to an extent; he is still an individual with his own skills and capabilities he has limits like everyone and he has bad days like anyone else. Since I've been a fan I've often admired him for constantly striving to be better for everyone but I hope that he knows that even with flaws he is worthy of love, even if he is not perfect he can still be the golden maknae.

I know this is a lot, I've just got a lot of feelings for these guys. When times are hard I've gone to them for support, through them I've bettered myself and made friends I never would have otherwise. I feel honored to be apart of such an amazing fan base where love is so openly shared, often between complete strangers. Bts is more than just a group, more than just the little boxes some people try to put them into and I will always be proud of being their fan. It's not just music and they aren't just a boy band, through them, millions of people all over the world have formed a family filled with love and acceptance that some have never experienced before.

minnie grew up in a very strict household when she was younger, up untikl she was 18 ( when she ran away with the circus to join them bc it looked amazing and just... so much more than what she felt like she had at home )

So this may be too little too late, given skullcanons disappearance, but I was holding out to discover the original. Given how long its been I think its time to just rewrite it myself.

For those of you who don’t know, this is based off a prompt from my first blog. The prompt was imagining the skelebros as a fantasy style guardian, someone to accompany a Reader on some kind of mythical quest. From that I kind of inferred the system where teh skeletons are all guardians assigned to those going out on a quest, anything from dungeon crawling to saving the world to slaying a dragon. It may be functionally a sort of mercenary role although the assignments often have a lot to do with temperament and goals. I invoked a few archetypes to help give an impression. Also, keep in mind I’m working off of memory and may have changed one or two. I’m almost positive that I remember UF!Papyrus’ perfectly.

UT!Sans: The Trickster. His guardian style is essentially identical to his function in canon. He’ll keep an eye on you but only rarely engage directly with what’s harassing you….as far as you know. There may be untold dangers he’s protected you from out of your sight, but he’ll never mention it. He’s constantly got some kind of tool in his pockets that you’re not sure was obtained through entirely legitimate means. While he’ll likely go along with your moral compass (as long as its not out and out reprehensible), you definitely feel his displeasure when your actions cross his own boundaries. A decent companion but has tendency to wander off when you want him and naps too much. May screw with you a bit for entertainment, but he’s pretty good about not taking it too far.

UT!Papyrus: The Paladin. A knight type. His own moral code is intensely strict and as a result can only be partnered with questers who’s ideals and goals are at least in the radius of his. He will take care of you, although not in the manner he would like to. He wants to be a dashing knight riding in, helping you both narrowly escape from evil doers and championing you (and by extension himself) across the land. But his care shines through in his cooking, in his constant concern for your day-to-day wellbeing. A bit arrogant and too confident in his own abilities, as well as vastly inexperienced, but a heart of gold and enough courage and determination to face any task you have before you. He believes in you and your goals one hundred and ten percent, and anyone who doesn’t can’t help but be a little persuaded by the genuineness in your companion. But for the love of hell get him some lighter armor, his default stuff is heavy and clanky as fuck and a total pain to deal with.

UF!Sans: The Guard-dog. He doesn’t get assigned much, especially to longer-term quests. He has minimal patience, especially with the more intense questers, whether for good or evil. He also has a temper the size of Ebott, a heavy amount of laziness, a tendency to wear down his companions through constant mocking. Still, once he bonds, its for good. In the end, it’ll be you that he cares about, not what you’re doing. He’ll complain, deride, and grumble his way through every step but he’s hot on your heels into every fight, keeps you out of trouble as best he can, and in time the two of you learn to enjoy each other’s company. Even if your tasks aren’t inherently shady he’ll likely pick up a little “side business” along the way that may be less than legal. But hey, how the hell else is he supposed to get food. He’s pretty good with mechanics, building, and surprisingly most varieties of puzzles, which is why he’s a good partner for treasure-hunting style quests. Just make sure he doesn’t get drunk. He’s hard to keep track of when he’s inebriated and will usually find trouble. 

UF!Papyrus: The Sentinel. Compared to him Red is almost in demand. He has an extremely limited number of questers he’ll ever be considered for, and even fewer of those make it longer than a week or two. Between the constant complaining about how beneath  him everything is, the frequent assaults on his partner’s self-esteem for small mistakes, and his aggressive attitude that tends to get him into unnecessary fights….yeah, he doesn’t get out much. In general he actually tends to do best with questors with similar goals but opposite temperaments. An Integrity or a Patience would likely be among the best, with maybe a more mature Kindness as a possibility. And truth be told, though his respect is hard to earn, its invaluable and well worth the effort. He’ll keep you on-task (he’s a very point A to point B guy) and well-defended, and though he errs on the side of too critical his insight can be helpful if you know how to listen to it.

US!Sans: The Hero. A bundle of energy that’s always in search of a cause to champion. Even if you don’t have one, he’s going to find one along the way. Whether its poor villagers laboring under a cruel ruler, a young heir kidnapped by an evil witch, if its brave and dangerous and in the cause of good he’s already halfway there. As a result he’s among the more flighty guardians and you may have to tie him to your side in order to keep him on task. He’s a quick and skilled fighter but prefers to make peace or talk his way out of a situation if he can. He can be…a little much, especially if you’re not into histrionics, but he’s an amiable companion and fairly pleasant to be around. Don’t trust his cooking, but he will make sure you eat and take care of yourself. And despite how much he talks, he really is a good listener.

US!Papyrus: The Mage. Like Tale Sans he has a tendency to avoid interfering where he feels it would be too much work, but no Papyrus can resist a challenge. He’s a book based wizard and if a problem or puzzle is posing a particularly pesky problem (alliteration is fun), he can’t resist (or rest) until he’s found some kind of answer. He’s good at thinking on his feet and his mouth moves in pace with his mind. He’s exceptional with distance attacks but has trouble with commitment, so they often aren’t as powerful as they could be. He’s so focused on making sure he can dodge that he doesn’t put all of his effort into a strike. Like Tale Sans he does have boundaries, but he’s a little less judgmental. If you’re doing something he considers too far, he likely will just sit it out unless you’re actively hurting innocents. Clever and funny but sometimes talks too much for his own good. Decidedly lacks focus.

SF!Sans: The Dark Prince. He is going to be excessively disappointed if your quest doesn’t involve taking some province and setting up an autocracy, but he’s not as picky as Boss. Any quest is experience in the world, and an opportunity to further his own skills and connections, thus leading to potential chances to seize some kind of power. He’s just as vocal with his complaints but can hold his tongue and doesn’t drag his feet as much as Boss does. He’s energetic and aggressive and will likely pick fights with someone in every town you stop in. Its very rare that he bonds emotionally with his partner. Generally he views them as more a means to an end. But when he does he likely would be willing to go on multiple journies with the same one, and their partnership will be especially deep in terms of combat. He has the utmost respect for their abilities (although they are still obviously inferior to his own) and will help them with their own ambitions, although only rarely to the detriment of his own. Prefers more brutal weapons, such as maces or flogs. 

SF!Papyrus: The Soldier. He’s very quiet. You could be on the road with him for weeks before having a conversation beyond “those bandits are getting closer”. Despite that you never get the feeling that he’s distancing himself. He’s deeply protective of his partners and the silences are companionable, not stony. He’s just extremely difficult to read. Truth be told, Syrup gets paired with more questers than anyone except the Tale brothers, given his combination of exceptional combat abilities and generally lowkey and mostly agreeable personality. But though he’ll fight to the last for each one (comes with the job) he finds it easier not to get close with too many. You can’t save or help all of them. Still, if a friendship does start to develop (maybe even something more, if you’re lucky), the protectiveness increases, as well as his vocalness about his feeling about whatever situation you’re entering. His instincts are reliable and if he says that cave looks foreboding its generally because there is some shit down there you will not walk away from without injuries. Still, he’ll follow you to hell and back if need be. His humor is sarcastic and under the radar and unless your quick his digs at you and everyone around you may go unnoticed. If you can dish it back it increases the likelihood of him getting closer with you. Fast on his feet but reluctant to fight where he doesn’t have to.

Summary: Sam comes across a very interesting book that describes a ritual in which one can play a game with the Devil. His curiosity is sparked and even if he doesn’t think he will ever actually do it, Sam soon finds himself face to face with this very entity. Things take a very unpleasant turn, but despite that, Sam is going back, as if something pulls him towards Lucifer.

It was barely getting dark outside, but Sam decided to give it a go now. He carefully locked the door to his room again, took off his jackets to reveal the big mirror underneath it and got the black dragon candle from his nightstand. He also got a razor blade from the bathroom, since it was faster than using a needle and squeeze his finger, and then sat down on the floor, in front of the mirror. Sam lightened the candle, took a deep breath that he held and cut one of his fingertips with the razor blade carefully. The candle’s flame flickered a little at his motions, so he waited for it to calm again before letting a single drop of blood fall into it. As Lucifer had predicted, the flame shot up for a second, so Sam closed his eyes and concentrated as hard as he could.

Lucifer, please show yourself. I need to speak to you...

Sam opened his eyes and faced a familiar face that looked both surprised and… proud? Yes, he kind of looked proud, why, Sam couldn’t tell.

“You really did it, I am impressed,” Lucifer said. “You don’t have to follow the rules of the game if you call me like this, by the way.”

“So, it’s more like a chat and not a game?” Sam asked, suppressing a smile.

“Precisely,” Lucifer smirked. “Now, what is the reason you called me so soon?”

Sam took a deep breath and while thinking, sucked on his finger to stop the bleeding.

“I need advice…” he finally mumbled, finger still in his mouth.

“Excuse me?”

“I said: I need advice.” Sam sighed and took the finger out. “Or better… I need a friend.”

“You want me to get you a friend, really?” Lucifer asked with a mocking tone in his voice and raised a brow, but Sam shook his head.

“I don’t want you to get me a friend, I just need one. I thought, maybe you would -”

“Stop this thought,” Lucifer suddenly said very strict, causing Sam to flinch slightly. “Did you forget who I am? Are you suggesting what I think you are suggesting?”

“I… No, no of course not,” Sam swallowed hard and felt really dumb for even bringing this up. “I’m sorry, I didn’t think.” He fell silent and looked down at the flame of the candle, asking himself why he thought this would be a good idea. It wasn’t the first time he had embarrassed himself, but it had never been as bad as now.

Eventually, after a few minutes of silence between them, Lucifer sighed audibly.

“Look, I get it, okay?” he said, his voice a little more soft now. “You don’t have friends and you said you feel comfortable talking to me, but I’m not what you think I am. I’m usually not this nice, to anyone. The people who play this game with me never really get what you’ve been getting.”

“What… do they get?” Sam asked carefully, earning a creepy smile.

“More than they bargained for,” he said. “They all think they are smart, that they can easily trick me - but they forget that I am not someone to be fooled with.”

“Do you… kill them? Or possess them?” Sam’s voice was shaking slightly, but he wasn’t really afraid, at least not for himself.

“Sometimes, but it depends. You see, a lot of people forget the time, it’s a natural thing to happen. You would have, too, if I wouldn’t have reminded you, right?” He waited for Sam to nod and did the same. “Time means little when you are hypnotized, or when you are distracted enough to just forget it. Others only last a few minutes before they look away, forgetting the rules. At first they were fun, it’s addicting to hear them scream when I suddenly appear in front of them, but now I usually end it quickly.”

“So, you do kill them,” Sam mumbled.

“Rules are rules, Sam,” Lucifer shrugged. “The ones that are really fun are the ones that go over the time. Sometimes they only last a few hours until their own demons devour them, sometimes it’s days. Some of them beg me to free them, which I do, of course. But they still come with me, so they don’t win one way or the other.”

“Has anyone ever played and won? I mean, ended the game and just… lived their life?”

“You mean, like you did?” Lucifer smirked. “No, as I said, you’re a first, and I’m very surprised by that. Especially since you seem to come back with less fear in your heart every time.”

“Is that bad?” Sam wanted to know. “I know who you are, I know what you do, but do I need to be afraid of you?”

“You should be, of course!” Lucifer laughed and it took him a while to stop, so he could continue speaking. “Sam, do you realize what I could do to you, even now? I could melt your soul by just looking into your eyes deep enough, I could shred your body into millions of pieces or rip your organs out one by one - I could do anything you can imagine and worse. So, yes, you should be very afraid of me.”

For some reason, Sam began to chuckle. He couldn’t help it, even if he knew Lucifer would be able to do all that, it didn’t create fear in him, just amusement. When he managed to stop chuckling and looked back at the Devil, there was nothing but confusion in his eyes.

“I’m sorry!” Sam gasped and forced himself to stop acting crazy. “I… didn’t want to be disrespectful.”

“You are doing a very poor job with that, just so you know,” Lucifer huffed, but he didn’t seem to be angry.

“I don’t know why I am not afraid or scared, I really can’t explain it,” Sam eventually said, calmed down again. “At first I was, I was terrified, but now… I’m not anymore.”

“You are a very strange human, do you know that?”

“Not really news to me,” Sam shrugged. “I’ve always been the freak, I’m used to being called strange.”

For a while the two were silent, but it was not an uncomfortable silence for Sam. He knew Lucifer was right - he was strange - but he didn’t take it as a bad thing for some reason.

“Lucifer?” Sam suddenly asked, his voice an unknown level of softness. Lucifer simply gave a ‘hm?’ back, to which Sam smiled slightly. “Did you ever want to have a friend?”

The Devil was actually taken aback by the question, he only gave a very puzzled look back to the human for a while. Sam knew this was a very personal question and he didn’t really expect Lucifer to even answer it, so his surprise was huge when he eventually did.

“I don’t think I ever did,” a quiet, almost shy voice replied and when he looked up, Sam noticed that Lucifer wasn’t looking at him anymore. “I’m not really the most sympathetic guy in the world or get around a lot, you know?”

“Did you ever think about it?” Sam asked. “You don’t have to answer, if I overstepped a boundary just tell me. I just wondered, that’s all…”

“No, it’s fine,” Lucifer quickly said, almost as if he didn’t want to offend Sam. “But no, I never thought about it. I do not get along with humans, I’m not that type.”

“Yeah, I know what you mean,” Sam sighed. “But having no friends really sucks.”

“According to you or everyone else?” Lucifer asked, confusing Sam for a second.

“What do you mean?” Sam asked.

“Do you feel bad not having friends? Or do you prefer to be on your own and only want one to prove something to your brother?”

Sam huffed, but didn’t answer at first. It wasn’t that he never wanted friends, it just never worked out. He never thought if he actually wanted a friend, though. It was normal to have friends, wasn’t it? Even Dean, as much of an asshole that he was, had friends.

“It would be nice having a friend,” Sam said after thinking for what felt like forever. “Someone who likes me for who I am, who doesn’t tease me all the time and calls me dumb, a baby or a coward… it’s not wrong to want that, is it? Did you never want someone like that?”

Lucifer stayed silent. Somehow, though, Sam didn’t need an answer. It was written all over the other’s face. Yes, Lucifer had wanted someone like that, but he wouldn’t admit it.

“I won’t cry or complain about not having a friend,” Sam continued then, a little quiet. “But I would like to know how it is to have one. I never thought about it as much as I did the last week, since we played the game the first time.”

“Hm,” Lucifer huffed again, his head tilted and studying Sam closely. He tried to spot a trick, a lie, anything to reveal the boy was playing a game himself now, but there was absolutely nothing. Sam’s soul, which was an indicator of both his feelings and actions at all times, was no different than normal and his eyes revealed no trick either. He wondered why, out of all humans coming to him, this one was so different, but there was no answer to this question.

“I know it’s silly, don’t even say it,” Sam said, smiling sadly. “I mean, I’m just a dumb kid, right? Lucky enough that you didn’t kill me already, a powerful being like you. But I feel, if anyone would understand this wish, it might be you…”

“I understand it,” Lucifer answered honestly. “But I do not think you know what you are asking for - or suggesting. Yes, I can talk to you like this, but I am not like you - I do not feel the way you can, I cannot feel joy like you do, happiness or friendship.”

“How do you know if you never tried?” Sam wanted to know. “You didn’t kill me, there must be a reason for that. If you would be just a cruel and evil entity, wouldn’t you have done that by now?”

“Are you suggesting I am not such an entity? Me, the literal devil?”

“No, but there is something else, I think. You must have felt pity for me at least, or sympathy. Curiosity, maybe. I don’t know, but it must have been there. You said this never happened before, right?”

“Indeed, it didn’t. And you are almost right, it was pity for you, I think.”

“If you never felt pity before, but still did for me, why would it be impossible to feel joy? Happiness? Friendship? Or even lo-”

“Don’t!” Lucifer suddenly growled and Sam’s voice died in his throat, his eyes widening in shock. “Do not ever say this word to me, ever!” Lucifer continued with a burning abyss in his blue eyes.

“O-okay, I won’t. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you,” Sam was devastated by the reaction he had caused so suddenly and felt horrible for it. “Lucifer, I’m truly sorry, I -”

“Forget it,” Lucifer said sharply, raising his hand. “I do not know why I felt pity for you, I am starting to regret it, but I accept that I did. I will not, however, be the friend you are looking for. I cannot be. We are too different, there is nothing we have in common and we do not even live in the same dimension of existence.”

“I know that, but…” Sam tried hard to find the right words, to not offend Lucifer even more, but it wasn’t easy. “It’s just that you are the first one I can talk to, without feeling the need to defend myself all the time. I want to know why.”

“I can make you feel that way if you insist,” Lucifer threw in, which angered Sam more than it should have, as it was a very bad joke.

“That’s not what I meant and you know it,” he said. “If you don’t want to, then just say it. But at least say it outright and don’t hide behind excuses that you can’t, because I don’t believe that.”

“This is strange,” Lucifer mumbled and tipped against his chin. “For a moment I thought you were giving me orders, but that can’t be, right? I must have misunderstood you.”

“Okay, fine,” Sam huffed, having enough of this now. “I get the hint, thanks.”

Without waiting for a reaction or looking back into the mirror, Sam blew out the candle, stood up and unlocked the door before storming out.

sure! i’ve only been on it for a little under a year and i dont use it constantly, but heres some stuff about it.

my biggest suggestion is just to be yourself in your pictures - choose your best selfies, yeah, but i find that girls on there tend to be more interested in pretty pictures than sexy pictures, yanno? on tinder, people tend to use all bikini pics and the like. which is fine to have some, you know, but girls on there usually are into a date more than a plain hookup so it’s good to have normal pretty ones up there too. also, you can add as many pics as you want, so it’s pretty nice.

there are always gonna be weird people on dating apps!! sometimes shitty people! be prepared for that.

not everyone on there follow strict gender or sexuality binaries so BE OPEN TO THAT and don’t assume anything. you can list what you want about yourself on your profile but you don’t have to, and not everyone does.

honestly, dont be afraid to text first if you match with someone crazy pretty. lots of girls won’t text first but they’ll text a lot once you get the convo going.

this is just an aside but it took me forever to find out that you can choose “add” to your profile and you can write out text instead of adding a picture, you don’t have to just screenshot the notes app on your phone. possibly im just stupid.

one more thing about that app, that i dont necessarily like: you can see every time someone else likes you, even if you haven’t matched w/ them.

on the bright side, you can adjust your settings so you yourself only see people of a certain age/distance. other people outside of those boundaries might like you, but you won’t see them if you’re just scrolling.
