i wrote way too much sorry

they were rewritten to include shiv being pregnant, which hadn't been written into the season until that point. everything in 8-9-10 relating to shiv's pregnancy was an extremely hasty last minute addition, which is why it made no damn sense narratively when they dropped it into the beginning of 4.04, in a scene they filmed towards the end of shooting. every person who said in the interim between s3 and s4, shiv is not fucking pregnant, was in fact entirely correct, and they didn't plan to write it at all and it sticks out like a sore thumb in terms of succession's otherwise quite delicate plotting. which is especially disappointing given the huge payoff that paying close attention had during s3.

so, it scuppered their plot big time, but they just about clawed it together, if you ignore like. every emotional beat between episodes 1-7 lol. which is a real shame! i'm sure jesse had good intentions. but yeah, that's why they were rewritten. i think 8 and 10 weren't even rewritten to a substantial degree, but 9 is hanging by a thread in terms of cohesion - it's the only episode where they had any time to put 'oh shiv is also having a baby' scenes in, and reading the scripts it's just so clear that other stuff not only hit the cutting room floor but got swept away completely. connor is pretty much a non-entity after 4.08, for instance.

as for tom and greg (and shiv and matsson, and greg and matsson, and that whole mess of a love square) i think reading between the lines there are things missing. i can't say for sure what they were, but the script books were highly edited for publication, and no way is jesse ever going to personally give me a straight answer to the question 'what was shiv's actual arc in s4, before it became She Is Pregnant', or 'why did you prevaricate in the edit on tomgreg and tomshiv to the detriment of both, but mostly at the expense of tom, which felt really weird while watching the season because where the fuck did he go'. and yet, i think the denouement for both was really fucking good. stuck the landing despite taking a bizarre, last minute route there.

but yeah, if tom and greg did bang, it was 4.09. because the final scene for tom and shiv in 4.09 > first scene for tom and shiv in 4.10 makes very very little sense for either of them. it's like something else happened for tom at the end of 4.09 than what we saw. because the beginning of the finale he's with greg like yeah we're divorcing byeeeeee, and like wouldn't that have a lot more weight if he'd done anything other than be so eepy at logan's wake, while greg was crawling on his knees for tom to mencken and had that deleted scene with ewan. wouldn't greg almost betraying tom in the finale be higher stakes if they'd slept together, wouldn't it be more obvious and devastating that tom invites shiv into the car because she's suddenly more useful as his wife because of the decision she made at the vote... i simply think it would have been delicious.

huge caveat that this is just my thoughts. just my lil ol theories and thots. i read scripts and think about this stuff alot and have kept an eye on behind the scenes shenanigans. maybe shiv slept with matsson instead! maybe greg did! idk! but there are hanging threads that were snipped imo, rather than wonky plotting from the outset.

post-The Search part 2: Sisko has a charged little conversation with simulation!Garak in the Replimat, including many sly smiles and the line "Mr. Garak I never knew we thought so much alike." This could easily be the moment when Sisko realizes Garak's attractive.

approx. The Way of the Warrior: Remember how Garak offered Sisko a new suit earlier? This ep involves Sisko cashing in on that, and making Garak do a fitting for him in the wardroom to pass him information. Maybe once the crisis has passed they do a more private fitting, if you know what I mean. Or maybe they've already hooked up before The Way of the Warrior, and that's why Garak makes that expression of interest when Sisko call him up to the wardroom and asks him to bring his tailor's kit (thinks it's another booty call).

approx. Favor the Bold: This ep is where it's mentioned that Garak is temporarily stuck hanging out on the Starbase, and it also happens to be when Sisko is working from an office there. So the hookup would not necessarily happen during this ep, but just when they are in similar conditions of being the only Niners left behind on the Starbase. Garak is starting to cooperate more extensively with Starfleet than he ever has before (he even has some anxiety and paranoia during Favor the Bold that could be taken as a precursor to his more severe breakdown in Afterimage). But yeah what could better symbolize his desperate the-enemy-of-my-enemy-is-my-friend sort of cooperation that he now has with Starfleet than to sleep with Sisko. <3

The biggest sinners in the whole TV show debacle are the writers. THEY decided to slowly bring down Loki's character progress and dignity, and THEY chose to keep Tom out of the creative process, when he's the one who made a whole career out of the part. I bet he wasn't wholly on board with the direction they were taking Sylvie and Loki. There is no way a man who speaks about a role with such passion and admiration would ever approve of "she's a female YOU! Lol oh that narcissistic Loki could only EVER love himself!"

Thing is, I kind of get why they wanted Loki to get a girlfriend, fan service and all. Loki DID kind of become the underground sex symbol of the MCU. They would've felt pressure from focus group hacks to do SOMETHING with Loki's romantic life if they were going to keep wringing appearances out of him like a sponge. But there were already so many characters they could have worked with, including his WIFE, MISTRESSES, and, oh yeah, a ROLE THEY HAD CAST AND THEN DELETED (Amora the Enchantress), and instead they went with "Loki could only ever respond romantically to himself so let's create a whole new character who has no personality, heart, or anything Loki needs or would be attracted to, and shove her down everyone's throats as Phase Four's Breakout Tragic Romance, which is the single biggest insult that surrounds Sylvie's creation and execution.

At first, I thought the show was going to be a metaphor for horrible systemic treatment of abuse victims via the failing bureaucracy of government. That would have rocked so hard. It STARTED to seem that way. It could have been about Loki standing up for himself and finding vindication through action and forgiveness for those he wronged. He could have even found vindication through a love story if IT HAD BEEN DONE RIGHT! Then they just made it all about Sylvie, Sylvie, Sylvie and how gosh darn wonderful she is.

Also, there was no fun, aside from arguably seeing the other Lokis in the void. Loki's character was always sinister with a lot of angst, but he was also FUN! He had creative costumes and ways of doing things. Tom Hiddleston has amazing facial expressions and scene presence when he's allowed to use it and not shrink back into it. The show should have been much more pleasant and visually engaging to match Loki, but instead, they threw him down a volcano and took what came out as his 'new look' and attitude. I think if he met Thor again, Thor would think Loki was lobotomized, and Thor 5 would be all about the search for proper mental health emergency resourcers (as long as they skipped the screeching goats).

I sent the show!Jonsa ask! Yeah, I was toying with it because one of the sticking points for me is figuring out why the show did or didn't do Jonsa and why that may or may not happen in the books. That to me is really some of the most damning stuff, and I can't point to Dany's arc in the show or Stannis' etc. (many of the examples you use) as argumentation for what makes sense in the books but have yet to have happened without, too, including Jonsa.

Anon asks are limited by length (and I would not want to waste your time with adding caveat after caveat lol) but I do also have complicated feelings about D&D; on the one hand I think there were serious problems on set and I have a lot of capital F feminist problems with them, but that doesn't belie all the creative work they put into the show (I do think there are Choices they made about how to portray romance without the source material at hand, and even before that honestly, but I already wrote that ask lol).

You're definitely right about the heaping of romantic parallels; one or two of those relationships alone could be written off, but the Sam/Gilly one is very weird, and Kit's acting choices are... very weird lol. Re: Sansa's jealousy, I had read that more as Dark Sansa foreshadowing as opposed to Jonsa jealousy, so I don't know???? When it comes to show!Jonsa I mostly only like the S6 dynamic anyway, so that might be down to some of my bias.

Basically I'm trying to entertain alternative ideas that might explain things as opposed to genuinely arguing for show!Jonsa being an accident, and I was thinking about this as well because it is an issue I've encountered with shipping/romance/fandom in general before. The male-gazey tropey dynamic ends up feeling off, but by virtue of the romance goggles of the author not being applied to another dynamic, it ends up feeling more mutual and less objectified and more interesting lol. A good example off the top of my head, given you've just watched the MCU films, is that I shipped Steve/Natasha (yes...) because the dynamic in Winter Soldier was above and beyond any other M/F pairing in the films. Naturally everybody goes on about ~platonic soulmates~ but I love good guys with sad/evil/redeemed ladies so I can't help it. Not saying it's at all canon though, I think they absolutely stumbled into that one.

I'm glad your nephew enjoyed the MCU films! I remember when I rewatched Endgame with my best friend, her dad came in and we had to keep explaining who the 'blue one and the green one' were. It made the film much better.

You have no idea how much I sympathize with the caveat issue. I write answers and then delete entire paragraphs because I have such a tendency to try to clarify everything that it makes things less clear because I bury the point, but then I regret it when the vague blogs start. We all have limited time though, and every answer can't be thousands of rambling words! Sometimes I've literally just said "insert caveat" lmao!

I read this article about Emilia's experience on set for GoT (I have not been able to relocate it, but I did actually read an article with her quotes--it wasn't just a tumblr post), and I felt that she was taken advantage of when it came to the nudity/sex scenes. I actually think she meant for some of the stories to be amusing, but I felt sick reading it. She didn't say it was D&D, but apparently when she wanted to do less nudity going forward, she was told her fans expected it and it became a fight trying to move away from it, and....I just worry about the power dynamics with all these young actresses and what they're told they "need" to do. The fact that even if they ultimately agree to certain things, it still may be a result of coercion or they aren't actually being taken care of/feel safe when doing it...it left a very bad taste in my mouth regarding the behind the scenes stuff. And obviously, we all noticed the changes they made to the story, what they did to Sansa...plenty of things we can take exception to purely on what made it to our screens.

I enjoy doing that too! Groupthink is boring! I don't expect everyone to think the same way/come to the same conclusion, and I've changed my mind on a few things which only happens if we're willing to entertain different ideas instead of shutting people down. I mean, I'm not easily persuaded to a different way of thinking, but I try to be open to it. With the condition that someone interprets Sansa in a way I can live with which excludes most of the fandom/their theories tbh.

I basically work myself to one position and then back to where I started when it comes to show Jonsa. If it was an accident, I don't love it any less, if it wasn't, I'm curious what the hell happened. I didn't get what I wanted there, so it really doesn't matter to me what people conclude. I genuinely thought it was amusing when Kit acted surprised when he was asked about Jonsa because it was his face that was saying "not normal sibling feelings here." Silly man. 😂 And, D&D fucked up enough I don't like to take them too seriously, so I can't say, "this doesn't make sense therefore it was an accident" because, uh, a lot of their choices ultimately made no sense.

I certainly agree about the general male v female view of romance. I found that a problem when I said that they didn't write a romance for Jonerys, and the guy I was talking to was like, "they had sex tho???" There was just...a massive gap between what we were looking for when talking about the characters/relationships. Although, he did know what I meant when I said "well, they filmed Jon and Sansa like a ruling couple." He immediately understood that. And, considering what they did to the sandsnakes (I'm not saying the line), I do understand the argument that if they meant for there to be a romance, they would have done it in such a way that we would have objected.

I think part of the reason I believed Jonsa was intentional was because I don't ship non canon pairings. My brain isn't one to think, "oh but what about those two" as I wasn't even involved in fandom before, and I generally just took what a story was and reacted to it, rather than re-configuring it. Obvy, having been in the fandom for so long now, that's changed somewhat, but for me, s7 was a total puzzlement, and Jonsa / some variation of poljon was the only way it connected to everything we had established before. In a bizarre twist, we didn't get the story that would make it coherent, but we still got the endpoint: Jon betraying Dany for Sansa. It's still weird to me, all these years later. Now I'm mainly bemused rather than angry though.

Sirens and Gorgons are born that way, with some minor changes as growth happens. And I’m taking from N/Canon that psychic powers don’t show up until just about mid-puberty. Wednesday’s psychic powers showed up after the Fester-like electricity did to a noticeable degree…that’s all I’ll say about that for now, since it’ll probably be covered in Chapter 7. And BTW, male sirens and gorgons are rarer than females; Kent and Ajax are the outliers of their kind. Telekinesis is male-dominated outside of vampires (where it’s gender neutral), but there are Addamses who have that. They have a wide array of powers in the family.

We saw how a “siren song” actually works (twice, once with Tyler and once with Coach Vlad). In order to manipulate someone, they have to state what they want them to do. With this aspect of a  siren song, it’s more like a deep sea mating song. They’re not telling anyone to do anything, it’s not produced out of manipulation; it’s produced out of pleasure.

Wednesday lives by her own rules in all canon, LOL And a man can’t control his wet dreams. Also, the power of the mind vs. body is a strange thing. I’ve seen some men last through multiple orgasms. I’ve watched this scene more times than I can count just for the surprised and shocked gasp of hers that happens when Noble is hit, and to watch her hurriedly get the fk out of his SUV (hurried so much that she didn't bother to close the hatch) and run towards them.  She was shocked by it/took no pleasure in it. 

Regarding Eugene, I believe he survived because he had that thick jacket on. Rowan had his vest but it wasn’t zipped up, same goes for the camper in the beginning (I think). Eugene had layers that could’ve helped save him from deadlier wounds (Tylermonster didn’t have too much time to hack and slash at him like he did with Fabian, since Tylermonster could hear that Wednesday was on the way via them calling out to each other).

Also speaking of Eugene: Laurel fucking Gates could detach Noble from his ventilator, but not Eugene from his?  COME ON!!!

I wrote this scene before I discovered that in the original script, Donovan was supposed to smack him. I see why they cut it out, violence is never a solution and that saved Donovan from being a terrible guy in N/Canon, but at this point in the AB story, Donovan is overwhelmed. Think of how much higher this makes his stress level (to think that his own son could potentially find out or figure out that he’s been fucking ((and is totally in love with)) a younger girl). He’s unraveling, like Wednesday.  Except Wednesday doesn’t have to look at a killer ((that he loves)) every night.

I think they were trying to keep on the fact that Wednesday is still old fashioned. Hence her batteries for her flashlight instead of getting one that you can recharge, etc.  Though she has a really weird flashlight that flashes red. I dunno why they did that (the scene where they come upon the Cadillac at the mansion).  ETA 9/10/23: This was the one mistake I made so far in interpreting the series, the red flash was not her flashlight, it was the above lamp she turned on. Which still doesn't make sense, why red? Weird. Anyway, I missed that at first, but I know it now. (Another reason why I need to keep watching 7 and 8 while I write my 7 and 8. The sequencing and details are a bigger mess.)

Rowan’s body wasn’t (which to him is still an unsolved mystery at this point), the cave got destroyed before they could get to it (THIS IS STUPID CANON TOO! The minute she gave him the claw she should have also told him where she fkn got it…there was more than enough time to get over to the damn cave to search it for prints/other evidence). AB/C Donovan also suspects that this evidence could’ve helped figure out who unlocked Tyler, so having a promise of it only to have it not pan out is frustrating to him, so he’s taking it out on her.

You’re probably the only one reading this thinking that smoking weed is on par with cutting “self-harm”. They are not the same. For her, weed helps her mental health and electrical discharges (and it doesn’t do much harm to her anyway… 🙂). She hasn’t been smoking as much lately, so you’ll notice more zaps here and there. My father is an 81-year-old microbiologist & botanist (that I consult about a lot of things for parts of my writing)...he grows the weed I smoke for my own problems. I prefer to eat it and prefer to encourage eating over smoking, though.

Wildest Dreams, weeell, I threw everything and the kitchen sink at that fic 😂. I had SO MUCH fun coming up with all the uh... different scenarios. The only thing I remember leaving out was originally I had Henry doing A LOT more with his plugs towards the end, but then I decided that was taking it in a whole new direction, kink-wise, so I pulled it back .

I don't know that I can think of a specific one! I honestly love every single comment and compliment, but my favourites might be the ones on Deep Blue, because it really gave people the feels and that makes me so happy.

Right???? I feel like people who write/draw for fandom, myself included, get so wrapped up at times with the amount of kudos/comments and when we don't see 'big' numbers it feels disheartening or our fics aren't good enough but from what I've learned (and previously being a silent reader myself, I'm trying to make that up by kudoing and commenting on the fics I read now/read in the past) I just have to remember that even though you might not see numbers you never know how many people have come across your fic and enjoyed it. That's why no matter how bad I'm feeling about my fics I won't take them down because I know the feeling of loving a fic so much and coming back to it but it has been deleted (the heartbreak is real 💔😭). It just amazes me how many people are touched by fandom

Same, I didn't watch Venom and know little about it but from what I do know people have written monsterfucking fics about it since one of them is an alien??? Honestly, whenever you post them to ao3 or here on tumblr I'll see it. I subscribed to your ao3 so I get notified when you post something new 🥰. Any trigun fics, could be vash/reader, knives/reader, or vash/reader/knives. Currently I keep drifting in between being in the trigun fandom and out of it so I don't have it listed as one of my main fandoms on my profile but I still occasionally read trigun fics (I don't actively look up trigun fics but when my fav trigun authors, and yes your one of them, updates or posts a new fic I'll read it).

These days I'm more active on my side account (this one, which is basically just a big x reader fandom account) so I haven't written any current fics on these particular fandoms but I do have a million wips (the curse of being a fanfic author). On my other account I mainly wrote angsty fics that had little to no comfort but now I find myself leaning towards writing about things that I find hot, may or may not have 'darker' elements to it/considered toxic but I've fallen for those manipulative/mind game vibes. I don't think they are that bad but others might not agree, I guess it all depends on how you feel about the source material/character. Now that I think about it there definitely is a theme with all these characters....

Oh, for real! XD I'm sooo guilty of that! But yes! I have to remind myself that I too was a silent reader for sooo long, only commenting when something moved me strongly enough that I had something I really wanted to say (never negatively. I don't think I've ever left anything mean on any fic or piece of art as far back as I can recall, but I did have those 'YOOO!! This was so crazy good aaaaa-' type moments when I did comment. And I had a fic make me sob during lunch break at work and wrote them a comment saying that that particular chapter broke me). I am currently doing that too! I've been trying to steadily go through my bookmarks, re-reading them and seeing which ones I haven't commented on (which is a lot) and leaving them comments as I go back through. There's so many fics I lost from my bookmarks when I deleted my past accounts, and I gotta find and read those again. There are so many good fics in the world! Ah, I know that feel so much. :') And I'm so glad you leave them up, because I always have to remind myself there are so many fandoms that I came to years after the initial hype died down, and as long as the fics are up and Ao3 stays up, someone could find that fic five, ten, fifteen years from now, and maybe even when they need it most. Maybe it could make them laugh, make them smile, make them feel seen, or help them have a good healthy cry.

But aaaa- I feel so bad about all the fics I still have not re-uploaded and the ones I probably won't. 😭 I've deleted so many accounts in the past, and I know it must have been so rough on my readers to have me disappear again and again, because I've been told already by a few people that they were so sad I deleted everything (and some even cried! D':) But… Some of my very old works, I do not consider to be all that great and some were even offensive as they were written by impressionable little ol' grade school me, so if I do re-upload,… They'll have to go through heavy revisions seeing as these were made when I was just starting in the 2012-14 range. And I know it's so heartbreaking to have a fic you really loved just suddenly go missing. I've been there. I even had a fic that I adored and the person who wrote it decided to delete it all and re-write it and to my knowledge, still has not re-written it. :'( It was so heartbreaking because I loved it the way it was and I can't even re-read that version anymore. I have so many works that I just never finished, and I don't want to delete everything again anymore, I want to give them satisfactory endings. I don't want people to feel that sadness anymore from me.

So it's really disheartening to see someone think a fic of mine is abandoned after a couple months of no updates. I really do wanna finish everything I post given the chance! I'm determined to start finishing more things! For real! It's so crazy that, as a reader, I have so many works that were life-changing or that I think about to this day and revisit often, and yet… It's so bizarre to think that my fics are those kind of fics to someone right now. When I tell you the shock I had upon having someone immediately kudos and comment on a fic I just posted not like, half an hour ago (PurpleDragonAzile, you're a real one! Wtf!) was real on the fifth of this month,… Younger me never could have imagined my fics would touch so many people… All she wanted to do was write fics other people could enjoy because reader-inserts brought me joy and I wanted to write for characters who didn't get much love or ideas that no one else had done from what I'd read, and now here we are… I've achieved that, and still am.

I didn't even know about the statistics page on Ao3 for the longest, and now that I do, it's crazy how unloved I felt some of my stuff was, having only a handful of bookmarks or none compared to a disproportionate amount of kudos only to find there were so many people I did not know about also enjoying my stuff who'd privately bookmarked or subscribed, and then reminding myself that those guest kudos mean something too. That's that many people who liked it enough to press that button, and there's a chance that those kudos could also be multiple given by the same person who enjoyed it that much, and to think there could even be people reading and keeping up with my fics who do not even have an account... It's crazy. Sometimes I just look at my stats and laugh in disbelief and all these nice comments I've received and say, 'Ya'll are crazy (affectionate)' Damn, guys. :') I love every single one of you. You're amazing. To think my works could inspire ya'll and make you happy and laugh and cry out of joy or sadness,... It's crazy. I wish the best for all of you wonderful people. This is the best I could ever ask for. Little ol' me has come so far in these 12 years of writing, and I feel I can die content in this department of life.

XD I've only played Alliance (I actually bought it again for my Switch because I loved it so much as a pre-teen. Morning Star I found in the crypt, my beloved), but what I've seen of BG3, it reminds me a lot of Dragon Age. The thirst I see for Astarion is real. Yeah. XD That's basically it lmao! People ship Eddie (human host) and Venom (alien who doesn't like to be called parasite but kinda is), but I have read some very good Venom fics! One in particular I find super hilarious and was such a fun read. The swan dive tag alone had me. It's called Under Your Skin by IndiraIshra. Their notes kinda makes me wonder if I should do something like that for some of my fics because I loved the idea and their contents so much. XD So funny. Oh, me either! But apparently someone has from what I've read! XD Hehe. Oh, same! For the longest I was more the werewolf type, but I ended up gaining an appreciation. <.< Certainly a certain Digimon wasn't to blame for that for me in high school cough cough (Oh? 👀 I don't know enough about it to know which BG3 character, but now I know they're a vampire!) Yeah! :D XD Good ol' Annalise and her vampire boyfriend Dimitri and his vampire bandmates. Yep! :D I used to get a little sad about blocking people, but… Sometimes you just don't vibe.

ASdfhj- Possessive and jealous fictional characters my beloveds. X3 Oh, yes, same! I was so taken by the idea of their species also trying to win favor with gifts, anything from food to things that caught their eye (flowers, lost lockets and jewelry, buried relics from the past like ceramics, human items either lost or stolen, pretty rocks, etc.). Oh, for real. 👀 Thank you, I'm glad! :'D Yeah, I'm a little bummed I couldn't make it plot relevant enough to add in some of this stuff, but I really did like the idea of sometimes the females just prefer the attitudes or mannerisms of the 'lesser' male over the one that 'outperformed' them. It's also highly frowned upon if the male who 'lost' in this scenario can't take his L in a gracious manner. So, if he in any way shows aggression towards the male the female has chosen, she may threaten him with a growl and show of fangs or even attack him if he decides to get hostile with the winning male. Mated couples are often highly affectionate and caring towards each other too, partaking in grooming habits, tending to each other's wounds, and cuddling up in the colder months whereas hotter temperatures often lead to them sleeping on separate ends of the nest. And they'll take different watch times when the chicks are born and go on family walks and exploring ventures to let the chicks play and also to teach them about the world around them. Which, I could totally add onto those stories going more into family life stuff like this. X3 It's certainly tempting!

I will warn you though, the first two in The Project Series will just be Stampede Vash and Knives as their normal species (but with Vash having the appearance of late episode 11 early 12), but everyone after will be other monsters/creatures. XD Oh, I feel that! I drift a lot between fandoms and my current character interests. (aSfjas0g- Aww! ;v; Thank you! TvT I'm honored! Not sure if I’ve ever clarified, forgive me if I already have as my memory isn’t the greatest- the reason why I don’t really add a Read More to my longer posts anymore isn’t really out of spite lol, it’s that they next to always break my post. As in like, glitch it to hell. Whole paragraphs will often be shuffled, doubled, or outright deleted entirely, and going back to fix my posts after this happens doesn’t help, it can make it worse in fact! I have this issue on both mobile and pc, so it’s not really a fault of one or the other.

Honestly, this whole blog is somewhat glitched, and I have NO idea why, it’s mostly a behind the scenes thing but it’s the only blog of mine that it happens on (because of course my most popular blog is somewhat broken, of course).

Sometimes submissions from specific users will be devoid of images when I know they included them, and these images won’t load for days on end or just straight up never appear at all. For submissions from another specific user, I can’t post their submissions AT ALL. It just won’t allow me. I have to copy paste their words and images and then credit them in the post for it. Sometimes I’ll go back to a post I made and want to add some more tags or change the text colors and it just….will not let me. Oh yeah! And lately in the post editor, if I highlight a word or several and try to color it, sometimes it will only color some of the words or even HALF of a word, and I can’t fix it unless I save as draft and then reopen it. At least I can do something about it there, but it’s still REALLY annoying.

I’ve talked to friends who’ve used Tumblr for years and know about all its quirks and all my glitches are weird even to them. Looks like I have a cool rare cursed blog. Yay! So….cool

Me when I see an unhinged reddit post from one of *those* Kaz stans: Jin get behind me!!!!! Seriously though. Sometimes I think we all play/read/watch Tekken content differently bc what on earth are they on? Lmao. Not saying they are all like that, but still.

LOL. I deleted those posts 'cos I felt like I was ranting a lil too much, maybe getting too worked up. But the thing is, I wouldn't even care about these takes. Because everyone has a different take, and sometimes there are people with bad ones. But the problem is, the "Kazuya did nothing wrong and is being villainized only because he opposes Heihachi and Jin" is a POPULAR take. Not only do I see it more than I should, but the fact that I go to the comments and see a(n un)healthy amount of people agreeing with the take is just... so wild. I really feel like sometimes I am transported to an alternate reality where Tekken is totally different.

I really just thought we'd... stop getting these takes after the demo. Because yeah, while it didn't help Jin's character that much, but... Kazuya is literally threatening genocide, boasting about how for "as long as he lives, people will die" and also tried to kill innocent people in the middle of the street. I thought that would make people realize Kazuya is indeed a full blown villain who has done a lot wrong. But no... strangely it has not. It's just so bewildering to me.

Again, it's okay to dislike Jin. I understand it. He got done dirty in Tek6, and they're not doing the greatest job at writing him. But I just can't stand it when people put him down for things Kazuya is doing, or when Kazuya is arguably worse than Tek6 Jin. You can't hate Jin for [doing war crimes] and feeling remorse, but then acting like Kazuya is better despite [doing more war crimes] with zero remorse. It's just a bizarre mindset.

Also, to the point where they're reaching and actually hating Jin for crashing Kazuya's helicopter and destroying buildings?? They're actually saying Jin is killing hundreds and that proves he isn't a good person. Like are they being serious? In both Avengers and Superman (Man of Steel) - scenes like this happen. Where the superpowered heroes are fighting the superpowered villains and buildings are just wrecked left and right, cars are tossed around like they're softballs. But nobody in those movies ever bring up the casualties caused by the heroes, how many lives were lost because of the heroes. Nobody calls Captain America a careless villain. You know why? Because these are FICTIONAL ACTION SERIES. Yes, realistically, in real life, destroying big buildings and blowing up things would kill hundreds. But real life is boring. When you're watching an action game or movie, you want to see lots of action - action includes destruction. You don't wanna see the characters carefully fight in the streets, that slows the action down. That's why heroes can get away with destroying stuff, because it's entertaining to watch. The people in the building don't actually exist, they're not even seen, so we don't have to actually acknowledge them. And I get joking about this - but there are fans that are legit villainizing Jin for this. Like people are talking about this rather than Kazuya literally saying he's gonna wipe out countries lmao.

I guess I just get really tired of the hate Jin receives. Whilst I understand Tek6 will cause people to dislike Jin - but it's unfair to hate him but then act like Kazuya is good despite doing the same actions as Jin (if not worse actions). It's unfair when they hate Jin for being "emo" and saying he's annoying because... he hates the devil gene??? Go figure. And then the weird homophobic hate against him he gets sometimes? (Like there are a weird amount of ppl that calls him slurs) It really just feels like a lot of ppl just pick any reason to hate this character. Jin tries to do good, fans hate him for wanting to kill Kaz and not accepting the devil gene (lolwhut) Jin does bad like in Tek6, suddenly he's the worst character who's irredeemable but the other bad guys are totally redeemable (or not even bad at al!)

me and my younger sister both agreed we love the second movie, but he definitely could’ve left it at Avatar 1. (i’m a sucker for happy endings). That scene he deleted from the first movie where Jake realized Neytiri was pregnant, he could’ve included that and we def could’ve inferred the rest.

And even though that scene wasn’t included, even back then as a child I imagined Jake and Neytiri going on to have a family!

I was really sad to not see more than a few scenes of Jake and Neytiri in twow, especially more scenes of them happy and together as a family before he ripped it apart lol. I can’t handle this heartbreak, avatar twow actually had me laying in my bed at night for 4 nights straight SCARRED. Neteyam’s death was very unexpected. Let’s hope the next major character death is Quaritch 🤭.

I think him not deleting himself is a better way for the story when it comes to meeting the people he's affected, I just think that the way he deleted himself was better way for the story for himself. I think they handled his attempted suicide and attempt to fix things really well, because not only does it show that you can't actually change the past or future of teyvat unless you're an alien variable, but also that he was willing to take his life for a person he spent hundreds of years "hating" just because he learned they didn't betray him. It just fits really well with how he still hadn't moved on from the death of the first people who let him exist as himself.

I'm explaining this kinda messy because I'm hungry rn :/ but what I mean is I think what they did with the story was the best for both teyvat lore in general and also his own self, but if he's to meet the inazuma squad in an event or something I think it's gonna be kinda messy to write it well. Like maybe they'll just include a line that's like "oh yeah the traveller told me about you etc etc" and I don't really want that, but I also don't want one of those black background white text "wanderer explains what he did in the past" so even though I really like the way it's written I'm kinda worried for the conclusion of his own arc (kaedehara buddhist enlightenment) because I can't think of a way to show it well without it being either very long or anticlimactic

LOL) the severity and SWIFTNESS of his decision to erase (kill) himself. it was very stomach-dropping in the moment if you were someone that already cared about him. i actually remember putting the game down and walking over to my roommate to just sit in silence for a little bit LMFAOOO. it exemplifies how impulsive & swayed by emotion he is and just how deeply his self hatred motivates his actions as well as his EXTREME DESIRE to love and trust others (and how he felt like he couldnt for so so so long). but i also think it effectively shook any mistaken preconceptions other players might have had if they werent as invested in his character (people who thought he was irredeemably evil or inherently malicious in character, it's pretty hard to believe that about someone who can regret their actions so much and so quickly and immediately try to correct what he's done at his own expense). i'll try and go find & reblog my initial thoughts ab the quest tbh i wanna go reread what i wrote.

from like an authorial perspective, erasing himself from irminsul feels very much like one of those "i want to write this so bad because i think it is a fascinating development for this character, but it does not fit in with what i want to do with this character in the future and therefore might be more trouble than its worth as it undermines other plot points i would like to achieve with this character" which when i encounter that i usually write the scene to get the inspiration OUT but treat it as a separate timeline or a "what if."

this is legit completely personal opinion so it doesnt rly fucking matter at all but i honest to god don't find "no matter what you do, the past cannot be changed" something to be particularly interesting. so i guess thats why i have so many qualms with this direction. maybe its bc like. duh. to me. and maybe bc im not particularly invested in the overall story, so i didn't catch anything it might move along in the traveler's development. So i guess thats why im a believer in 'this could have been done differently and better. some Other way for him to find out about niwa.' especially because i've already had a myriad of qualms with the storytelling regarding scara before this point. so my perspective is a bit warped by opinions .

i think i just HATTTE the clunkiness that i expect to follow in regards to his character relationships. like there is something so uncomfortable about it to me like, i just.. u word it very well. it's gonna be Messy. and im always stressed about "messy," especially because i already felt like the storytelling behind his resolution was Already messy. the quest itself re-iterated his past .. so many times... i remember getting Annoyed... (through a) already accessible lore, b) that stupid academic paper, c) irminsul scene d) the "storybook", ANDDD e) re-living his memories... it felt very repetitive, almost overkill to me). so im just dreading what's to come especially if has to re-hash things to characters in-game that have already been explained to the player literally four sometimes five times over. i just want to get to new developments, NEW plot-points, NEW storylines and i want them to be COMPELLING and i want him to develop COMPLEX and MOVING and STRONG character relationships.

just to make it clear, because of a deleted TOS scene where Spock was like, I won a second place in a competition, and them being like who won the first, my father, I’ve always assumed Sarek taught Spock how to play and I don’t like it being taken away from me

yeah, anyway, I see that Spock unleashing his anger in ep 9 does have consequences

“We must steal the Enterprise.” kadhajkfhjasghfjkagjaghfjgajegh Spock vs Kirk: 2:1 (Spock’s winning when it comes to stealing the Enterprise lol)

- why is there a character that’s once again connected to Spock, but now via his mother T_T  (but... can I expect Amanda to appear in SNW?)

- Spock: “Miss Ortegas” okay then, going back to TOS terminology, I see

- I really hope they won’t give Kirk his “thing” (”Take her out of orbit.” is way classier than anything else.)

- I wonder if s2 is going to bring up more about the Federation-Klingon war (and if Spock and Pike and maybe Una will feel something about not being there). I wonder if they will canonize it for Kirk too. Actually... since they’re going into the war with the Gorn (maybe), they probably will

- the M’Benga/Chapel fight scene was probably my least favourite past of this episode (plus, Spock’s catch phrase, since the timing of it was really weird)

- if Spock cheats on T’Pring, she let him off easy. If Spock cheats, period, it’s kind of like hmmmm Anyway, I expected this, now it just depends on how it’s going to be handled - in order for me not to lose the respect I have for the character (I mean he did want to sleep with Chapel in Amok Time) - because at the end of the day, Spock makes a sacrifice and chooses T’Pring. Wonder if at that time Chapel is gonna meet her future fiancé... (I just feel like I honestly have to stay from other people because I can imagine what others are saying lol)

but yeah, looking forward how Spock/Chapel will proceed because it makes a few TOS episodes have more depth

but pleaseeee let this season have less Spock.

Was nice to see La’an again (after like not seeing her for one episode lol). Can’t wait for the 3rd episode!

BUT THE LUTE T_T That I will ignore. Sarek gave him his lute. He taught him how to play T_T (even though I think Spock already had the lute in his quarters before, but it’s just weird that it would be now lying in sickbay... he did own it in Discovery, in any case - I’m not sure if SNW was careful about not including it in s1, I haven’t checked, but I... don’t appreciate Spock’s lute, something that is Vulcan, being given to him by a human. Spock was a creative child - he drew, he played music... not everything has to be connected to a trauma...)

oh, wait, loved that Uhura came by and heard Spock playing, so maybe, maybe finally we’ll see Spock playing and Uhura singing, or Spock teaching her

Oh man, this tweet really bothers me because we are supposed to be BETTER than this as jikookers. 😅 the way that this feeds into misinformation so easily by just simply leaving out some parts of what happened to make it sound as if it was more than it was.... Hopefully they really just also didn't know, but then I mean, this is why we fact check things....

Yes, that person was a backup dancer, yes they posted that after Dynamite was released in support of BTS, which is so sweet. But what is left out of that tweet is that it wasn't a photo of jikook at all. It was a video clip that was posted to Instagram of the last like minute of the MV. Which started with the Bridge, which in the MV includes jikooks piggyback jump and then moves onto all the color explosion of the last verse and chorus of the song. Which you know, the rainbow hearts and rainbow emoji probably had more to do with all the rainbows of colors happening in the MV than Jikook and gay pride if we are honest.

And we don't know why they deleted the post, I'd guess it wasn't because it was sus or because it was going to out jikook or anything. But they probably deleted it because they got hoards of shippers in their comment section being super inappropriate. Tkkrs being crappy asking wtf he thinks he is doing or saying weird shit about TK being real. Jkkrs being shitty by asking for jikook confirmation or if that's what this was or just screaming about jkk being real. Some yoonminners and jinkookers and namkookers doing the same shit too. So that's honestly probably why, if I had to take a guess.

This tweet gives off the same misleading by telling the truth but leaving off bits of information that changes the story a bit as everyone on Twitter losing their minds over Tae posting a lesbian kiss on his instagram.

And when i saw that SS going around, I was AMAZED and so excited. I was like WOW TAE! Of all the screenshots to post to share you are watching this movie?! Turns out that was also a video and he was sharing the whole scene in the movie where the MC sang Dynamite and complimenting her on it. He still shared a WLW kiss which is amazing, but he also mostly just shared the song and the movie. And it got narrowed down to the kiss by a lot of people on Twitter. Lol

So yeah, not everything that got implied in that tweet you shared is worth being implied. It was just a message of support to the whole group for their new song from someone who used to work with them. And is probably super proud of how far they've gone too! Context is good people! We should always make sure we have it
