Hi! I was wondering if you would maybe be willing to talk a little bit about your decision to use a beta reader? I feel like some people have very strong opinions about this, whether it’s for or against, but I think most of the writers who I follow on here actually don’t use them (barring you of course lol). I guess I’m just curious why you prefer to use one, and how you found someone you trust enough to read over your work before posting. And if you’re willing, what exactly is your beta looking for? Spag check, plot holes, or something else entirely? Sorry this is long, I’m just very interested in all the unique ways writers go about their processes! Thank you :)

sure lol i started working w a beta reader back when i was writing atydsp bc people kept commenting abt misused britishisms/how obvious it was that i was usamerican (which was fucking annoying btw lmao) so i was like ok let me see if i can find a british person 2 check my shit...at that point i hadn't made this tumblr yet + was totally clueless in terms of how 2 actually like. interact w any sort of fandom community so i v clumsily made a tiktok account + was like "um british ppl if anyone wants 2 help please dm..." in the endnotes of a ch. + i just got lucky that the person who i connected w ended up being really great + has continued to help me out w other works (hi vi if ur reading this <3)

generally speaking i just ask a beta reader 2 check for any obvious misused britishisms in my chs, but i know some people will look for help w more in-depth editing, plot holes, etc. i guess technical fandom terminology might be "britpick" and not "beta reader" for what i'm doing but...idk idrc what it's called. and later down the line when the first person i connected w was too busy i found someone via tumblr after i'd started interacting more w ppl + sort of had a bit more a community (hi mayane if ur reading this <3) so now i have. two really great people who help me out who i've just become pals w over time <3

I started watching the @letshaveabouba livestream on youtube, I'm 2 streams in and its really nice! the only bad thing is that because its a recording of a livestream I can't really add my input or share my ideas so I'm gonna blurt it all here.

The proto inventory they came up with is this:

In their documentation they put /a/ as a low central vowel, so its a classic 5 without /e/, but I decided for me I'll make it a square system, it'll make vowel stuff easier for me - so /i/ /u/ high, /æ/ (a for ease) /ɔ/ (/o/ for ease). I also interpreted the back consonants as +pharyngeal, and split the back non stops as one being a fricative and thr other an approximant, instead of having both be both.

regarding syllable structure, they came up with CCVT. I elaborated on it and made it #CC-VCCV-T#, which stands for:

initial cluster of any 2 different consonants allowed. yes, every cluster, even /jqa/ is allowed, but /tta/ is not.

intervocallic clusters of any 2 different consonants allowed, no 3 or more consonants in a row. so /aqba/ but not /ut.ska/

word finally only single consonants allowed, and specifically only alveolars. /klat/ not /pgum/

regarding sound changes, they talked about tone, and having epinthetic vowels breaking up initial clusters and vowel lowering. These are the sound change I came up with to achieve these goals, and some other stuff that seemed cool to me:

Tonogenesis: high tone after voiceless consonants, low tone after voiced. A voiceless consonant preceded by a voiced one gives low tone, and voiced preceded by voiceless gives high tone: /tá/, /dà/, /ntà/, /kná/. Im pretty sure something similar happens in tibetan, but it has aspiration involved, and im not going to have that, so this is only inspired by it.

voicing assimilation: stops and fricatives assimilate to the voicing of a following consonant of the same cluster. now tone is phonemic :) yay: /kná/ > /gná/, /ztì/ > /stì/, but /ntì/, /lsì/ stay as is.

pharyngeal spreading: a consonant in a cluster with a pharyngealized or back consonant become pharyngeal aswell: /psˁì/ > /pˁsˁì/, /ħɡʷà/ > /ħɡʷˁà/.

epinthetic vowel insertion: a vowel is inserted between all initial clusters. its quality depends on the surounding consonants. if one of them is palatal its /i/, if one of them is labialized velar, its /u/. if its both, it depends on the initial cons. else its /a/: /ctú/ > /citú/, /skʷò/ > /sukʷà/, /wɲù/ > /wuɲù/, /tkú/ > /takú/. idk what tone the new syllable gets I haven't thought about that.

pharyngeal lowering: vowels are lowered as follows after pharyngealized and back consonants: /i/ > /e/, /u/ > /o/, /æ, ɔ/ > /ɑ/. now we have 7 phonetic vowels - /i, u, e, o, ɛ, ɔ, ɑ/ yayyy yippee I love big vowel systemsss!! /tˁicˁá/ > /tˁecˁɑ́/ etc.

/ji/ /wu/ > /i/ /u/: because I don't like those sequances. I also think /wra/ >> /urà/, /jki/ >> /igì/ is pretty cool.

Here the current inventory after these changes:

phonemic destinction between H and L tones

kept the lowered vowels allophones. You could just make pharyngealization go away and phonemicize the vowels but I like this gigantic inventory better lol

Potential /q ħ ʕ/ > /ʔ ∅ ∅/, to make the vowels phonemic. maybe /q/ > /k/. or even /q/ > ∕∅/ aswell?? it'll be a bold decision to make

syllable structure - #CVCCVT#. Initial clusters are now forbidden, but everything else is the same. I think V{j, w, ɰ, ħ, ʔ}C can lead to vowel length or more qualities or something, the sequance has potential.

So yeah this is all the ideas I have in my head rn, I hope it was an interesting read lol. I also recommend you go and watch the streams yourself, the vibe is very nice and help the creative juices flow, like I'm really happy with what I came up with here based on their protolang. it was like a fun colab challenge thing :) here's a link to the channel:

I have a question for you, so over the yrs i had shit experience with armys, i know someone who's got harassed by armys to the point of stalking them for month long. Although my own experience is not as bad but yeah it was hardly ever pleasant. So can i go ahead and and generalize armys and say armys are a shit Fandom? I mean there's too many ppl that has been harassed by armys even the celebraties because of which they even fear to mention BTS cause they don't wanna get dragged by armys and that's ig the most feared Fandom even by BTS's frnds. The fear comes from harassment. So do i get to say the whole Fandom is shit? Or can i say it's same as the hateful bp fans? Do i say there's no difference between armys and any other Fandoms who harass ppl online?

Another question is why are ppl expected to like all 7 members? I hardly vibe with celebrities so anyone expecting me to love 7 celebrities suddenly is something i can't do. I mean it's not because i don't want to it's simply because i don't vibe with each one of their personalities and even their artistry. Some members might have personality traits that i don't like and their music is also not my type so why am i expected to like them? What remains there for me to like about them? Am i not allowed to like ppl based on my choice, interest? If ppl are ot2, ot4 etc etc why do others immediately assume you're anti of other members? I mean as long as i ain't hating on any members online how am i an anti??

I saw some discussion about these things and of course I know you're aware of that too so i wanted to ask someone about these things cause i genuinely find it unfair to generalize ppl and expect everyone to like everyone when as a human many ppl literally dislike besties of their siblings etc so this expectation is something that doens't sit right with me. I know ppl say it's said by BTS but again i know for a fact that all members know they all have solos and as long as you're not shit talking about any members I'm sure they would be fine. In chapter 2 all members have gained their own solo fans and in future as well if they try something in diff fields like acting n all they'd again gain solo fans who won't always love all members and I'm pretty sure all members are aware of that.

I'd love to know ur opinion on this. English is like my 3rd language so my vocabulary is limited so sorry if things sound rude or something but it's a genuine question where I'm expecting a genuine answer and not a sarcasm. Hope u understand.

I used to apologise a lot while speaking Japanese the first years, but now I feel like that makes me look disingenuous, so I’ve stopped.

You are coming to my page with a grammatically correct, but tone-deaf essay, so if I give you sarcasm, sass and savageness, it is because I usually match the tone I am presented. But once again, I’ll take it easy on you. 

TIP💡: If you don’t want to sound confrontational words like please, should, would, could go a long way. Like the I’d love to know you used is 👌🏾, but expectations usually come off as rude when you are requesting something from someone.  

Let’s begin with your J1kookers vs T4ekookers question. If you have some time please do read my Shipping & All It’s Shades posts, it will explain quite detailedly where I stand on this. I wrote this in 2022 and back then I didn’t realise that the answer to my ??? was quite simple, which is; I’m not a shipper. 

You see, with them, it is always a competition. One day a toxic T4ekooker will find out that JK smiled at Tae at a different 45 degree angle than he does to other members, so then toxic J1kookers will prove that in fact he does smile at 90 degree angle but only with JM … and so on and so forth. These competitions become really nasty at some point and they always leave me thinking: do they even really care? 

If they did care, they wouldn’t care about what JK does with Tae, or what JM does with Yoongi, etc … they’d just want to cherish JK & JM’s bond and hope that if needed one day, they could be of support. From where I stand, the majority of T4ekookers and an increasing minority of J1kookers, just use the Maknae line as pawns in an imaginary love-war they’ve created and are each desperately trying to win, so I don’t really care for either.

If I may also candidly add, I am giving you answers based on the same information you supposedly have, so I’d hope you are not waiting on me to tell you “J1kookers are not as bad as T4ekookers, follow them!”, cause nah, that ain’t me bro. Please reach your own conclusions, just like you did on the rest of the post.

Moving on to said rest of the post; I don’t own you. If you want to generalise and say that AMI are pisses of shit, that they are just as bad as bl1nks, or whatever worse thing you can think of, you go on ahead and do that. If every experience you’ve had with 0T7 AMI was hazardous and you’ve made your conclusions, it is a bit nonsensical for you to come to me, an OT7 AMI, for permission to dislike, don’t you think? You don’t need permission to dislike and I am not going to beg you to like me. That being said, FYI, I have never once harassed anyone on the world wide web and don’t plan to either, but that is just me, one AMI in a sea of thousands of AMIs.

In fact, there are presently 48.5 million people following the BTS’ Blue Bird account. How many do you think are AMI? How many are just GP? How many are just antis and solos keeping tabs? Let’s say that only 1/10 are AMI, that would make it 4.9 million people; did you get to interact with all 4.9 million people to conclude that AMI are BAD? If so please let me know, cause technically you’d have to exclude me from that, as this is the first time we are interacting, and I don’t think I’m harassing you. 

By the way, fun fact, I am also not too fond of many Blue Bird AMI myself, but if you go on B4NGTANTV they have 79 million subscribers, which is at least another 20 million people to keep into account, or if you want to only consider 1/10, it would be 2 million which … I don’t know about you but  … generalising over millions is tough, still doable, because you did have your bad experiences, which we are not going to discredit, but … it’s a lot of people to mass all together under the one label “BAD”, don’t you think? But once again, it is your right to think as you will, feel and/or need.

Last but absolutely not least, why are ppl expected to like all 7 members? I can’t speak for every AMI, but me, I don’t need anyone to like all 7 members, that’s why biases exist, but I do expect for people to at the very least respect all 7, which is why solos shouldn’t exist. This is a band that was literally presented to you thank to the blood, sweat and tears of K1m N4mjoon, K1m Se0kjin, M1n Y0ongi, Jun9 H0seok, P4rk J1min , K1m T4ehyung and Je0n Jungk0ok. In more than one occasion they have expressed the importance they have to each other and how important it is for them to still be a team even while doing solos activities. 

So you don’t have to like member x but you should respect the fact that without him, and all the others, your fave would not be here in his present capacities. In the same way that without your fave, none of the other members would be here in their present capacities either. I am not asking anyone to go around waving a Y0ngi Marry Me flag, if you don[t like him, but when he is in need of help I would appreciate your help, for the simple fact that without him there is no 875 and without 875 our boys would probably not bounce back very well. They’d each be super successful, sure, some more than others, guaranteed, but would they be happy? Would they be mentally and emotionally okay?

Solos, just like shippers, are a cancer waiting to spread, and some of them don’t even realise that. Many of them become solos because they resent AMI for something they might have said and done to the member they like, so such sentiments, in no way can be the result of anything healthy. AMI is not perfect, never was, and never will be, but we are the fandom they named, so we are the voices they will listen to mainly. So for the most part, we have to be strong and push through many a time, because I know that when they need to reach me, they are not going to look for me within their solo fans, but within AMI, even when nowadays hate tweets get up to a whopping 120k likes which is A LOT, but it is still not even close to 1 million. 

As you rightly said the members know that they have solos fans, on different occasions they have referred to AMI & fans during their chapter two. Yet when they introduce themselves, they are always and still Member x of 875, aren’t they? If you want to find information about your fave on WEVERSE, you are still going to click on the BTS community, don’t you? In contrast, J3nnie from bp has a page all for herself, even though bp are supposedly still together.

Doesn’t this kinda makes you think that, if anything, being together as a group is important to each of them? So if it is important to each of them, shouldn’t this be important enough for us as well? At least important enough to have us respect their decision to be still considered a unit, while still pursuing solo global domination? Once again, you don’t have to like them, but you should respect them, all seven of them.

I have nothing else to add, but if I could make a wish for you, I wish you find the good side of AMI, it is easier to find them IRL to be honest, the world wide web is full of people wearing so many masks, you really can’t be sure of who you are talking to. When I first got into 875 I did it by myself. Watched RUN BTS by myself with reactors on YT, researched the albums by myself, watched lives by myself while checking live translation on the Blue Bird app, where to this day I don’t actually interact, just watch and get information and screenshot 😬🤡. 

Then I came here and I was blessed enough to find 3 people whom I adore, but I didn’t set off with the intention of befriending AMI, to this day they are actually the only AMI I talk to, I am not in GCs and don’t really care to be either. I am a bit of a lone wolf. So good luck Anon, I mean it, wherever you can, please be open minded and try to use critical thinking as much as possible, and even better, if you can, don’t let a few stains ruining the big picture.

Pork Brisket Sandwich!

Pretty much just following the recipe of one of the best sandwiches I've ever had that a dear friend of mine and her partner made me one night. I added the garlic confit because it's Carmen, and I've made confit before so like-- It's good. I think it'd go well. I guess when it comes to things like salt beds, acid/sweet, that just comes from me knowing how to cook a little bit kind of.

Wagyu Steak, Mushrooms, & Croquettes!

This one I straight up yoinked from Daniel NYC, a Michelin Star restaurant who I take from a lot (Yeah it scared the shit out of me when they showed up in the opener of season 3, fucking cameras in my HOUSE good lord.) I found them by looking for reviews of Michelin Star restaurants in New York and found a review of this plate specifically.

I did add the gruyere center to put a slight spin on it, and also made it 3 pieces of steak instead of two. Because One I think 2 cubes is a rip off and 2 I have had croquettes before and they are deeply unsatisfying to chew they need SOMETHING in the middle.

Breakfast Bruschetta !

This is just my own recipe-- I love this to make this for myself on like a weekend when I have the time, or make this for friends when they sleepover. It's good! I prefer feta to parm, also. You also don't have to use basil. Frankly basil is too fragrant. I just have a lot of basil because I grow it.

I don't remember how and why I came up with it-- I think I just really fuck with bruschetta and also love breakfast and eggs.

Oxtail Hot Pocket Wellington

So this is the original recipe from Daniel NYC, however I don't believe they sear it? Reason being, I researched different parts of this recipe and basically-- I knew I wanted it to be bad and go wrong, and specifically be extremely bitter.

And while googling keywords found that searing Fois Gras/Duck can cause a bitter taste! Not sure if it's bitter enough to cause the violent reaction everyone had, but works for me. And then it got altered, of course--

I have no idea if this would work. In theory I think it would. I did make this all up. Feta does have tang. Basil is fragrant. Beef Oxtail Wellington is a thing. I can't see why adding sauces to the internal pastry wouldn't work all that differently than basting with butter?

Again. I guess I just like cooking. But also research! Who is still reading this, who cares. whatever let's keep goin'

Cherry & Lamb :'(

This one was taken from Le Pavillion, Daniel Boulud's restaurant (Yeah, 'Boulud Nod' also scared the shit out of me in season 3), it's also a Michelin Star I believe? I looked over their website/menu after finding them through a directory of restaurants, and I knew I wanted to do something with cherries, so I was really blessed with this recipe from them truly.

Did research on terms I didn't understand, like montmorency and aigre-doux and what the fuck was up with lamb saddle-- I did add the basil because it makes me emotional and Carmen's fuckin obsessed with microgreens as has been made clear.

Oh fuck I did forget drinks are probably also important. We'll talk about the aperol spritz in a second but when it comes to lavender coffee/ black lavender latte-- Man. I just like cardamom and Carmen makes me think of lavender. idunno i'm gay, ANYWAYS

Pop Rocks & Steak :-O

This one is from my brain. As far as I know no Michelin Star place has made something savoury with pop rocks. I did do a dash of research on interesting things people are doing with pop rocks, and did see some fucking psycho on reddit making short ribs with pop rocks, and their girlfriend did think they actually tasted good, and that they caused a salavating of the tongue that made it melt very well

A3 Wagyu - Wagyu is like, marbled steak, and I knew he'd want the quality (it's the BEST!) but in my understanding of food, marbled fat would probably make the pop rocks preemptively melt and so it wouldn't have the same effect-- Looked at a Wagyu chart, found that A3 has less fat more meat, bingo bango

Pomegranate molasses-- It's fruity and it's used in barbecuing all the time-- I figured it'd be the perfect melder of the two concepts. However I do not know how one could make it sorbet thick. that's not my job though, that's carmen's. Would this taste good? I have no idea.

Aperol Spritz, Pink Pepper & Grapefruit

I kept seeing signs on the subway home advertising a ready made canned Aperol Spritz. I haven't actually had one myself. I get a vodka cran and I fuck off, personally. However--

These descriptions are all from research (googlin), and the grapefruit/pink pepper is from me really enjoying the spritz pink pepper scent in the perfumes Missing Person by Phlur and Glossier's You. And I was like oh that'd be nice with grapefruit. They make grapefruit pink pepper bitters? Google search! Yeah they do! Probably would be good. And to me it's very Carmen.

Coconut Emulsion & Souffle

This one was from the fact that I knew I wanted 3 things. I knew I wanted the recipe to come from Chip washing her makeup off, I knew I wanted to have an emulsion, because I think that's a fun word to say, and I knew I wanted it to be coconut-- Cause white, like cleansing balm.

And so, googled Michelin Star Coconut Emulsion. After a lot of scrolling, found Michelin Guide's article on Kei Kobayashi, a chef from Japan earning 3 stars (congrats baby!) and in it, whatdya know?

(combawa is also known as kaffir limes, did some googling, they're known for their zest and stronger scent in comparison to your average lime. )

I love food, so it's fun to talk/think about!! I think watching bon apetit back in the day really had an effect on me, honestly. I think it's the first wip i followed from start to finish and I have to say that part of 2022 was not the greatest but yk, every few days there'd be a new chapter. and it was great.

I fucking love Dorcas talking about "a butterfly in the palm of your hand" it's changed the way I think so much. like you would not expect this from a fanfic lmao but it's pretty much exactly what I needed to hear at the time. living just to live, even if it's complete shit, not caring about what they're leaving behind. ch 42 (i think) where all they're doing is just washing the dishes but it's so special and they're listening to dawn storm is so important to me I love it SO much. fucking amazing.

ngl I don't really think there's anything I don't like. every character feels so right - regulus in particular sticks out to me, like there's such a good balance between him doing pretty bad things because he's not a particularly "good person" but also not being a complete dick. also I would die for marlene mckinnon and the way you write her is just so fucking good. the way she is just so alive to make up for her shorter life is so beautiful to me. I could ramble on for a very long time about everything in this fic but I dont want this to get too long lol

the music you put on the chapters is also really good like I'm pretty sure the first time I read it I didn't listen the music and then I reread it with the music and it was like a whole different experience

ahh thank u this is so sweet! i love hearing that thtf resonated w people it definitely feels like the fic kinda took on its own life & became a little philosophical journey that i was not entirely expecting lol. i think writing a story where i knew my main characters were going 2 die the whole time really made me contemplate like. ok what do i actually want 2 say abt death, and by way of that what do i wanna say abt life? bc like. as someone who doesn't believe in an afterlife i didn't wanna write a story that says "well it's ok bc they can be happy in the afterlife" <3 bc like. that does not comfort me lol. & i also didn't wanna write a story that was like "it's ok bc there's gonna be a good future 4 others after them," bc i think life means something and matters even outside of futurity. i didn't wanna play into this narrative that u have 2 Do Something 2 make ur life meaningful by making sure u have an impact on the future, etc; i wanted 2 write abt life as meaningful outside of that. & i also specifically wanted 2 write abt life as something beautiful & meaningful even with the bad stuff mixed in, and even if death is abrupt and scary and painful and unwanted. like i purposely made both their deaths pretty brutal bc i personally find the idea of a "bad death" really scary! the idea of dying before ur ready, dying scared or alone or in pain or all three, etc...and i think part of why that's so scary is bc we place this big emphasis, again, on a linear timeline of life, where death is The End, and if The End is bad, then the story's a sad one. but death is just one moment in the sum total of billions of moments throughout your life; why should that bad cancel out all the good? why should a story be sad, just because the last page of it is sad? you can open the book to any page and find happiness, and love, and warmth, etc. & that's what i'm trying 2 say w "a story is not its end."

Hi, just read your post about immigrant mothers ruining their kid's jobs. My mother is not an immigrant but she's asian and she cannot for the life of her be considerate with my previous job situation.

I earned 2k monthIy. It's quite low bc we're poor and I have to use half of my pay to support my family. So I decided to take this remote part time job for savings (not just for me but for the family also) and bc of that I am almost in front of my laptop 24/7. It's a report writing job and usually I would have 2 reports weekly to be submitted within 4 days.

My mother hated that I am always in my room doing work and would get so angry because "I listen to the employers more than her". She would make me do a lot of house chores when she knew I was tired from work just to spite me, saying that in the house I do the least chores???? Yeah bc I have a deadline to catch OMG.

Usually I would plan my week for the reports but then she would make me drive her for errands etc and would guilt trip me if I don't do so. Because of this I would stay up all night trying to finish the report just so that she won't throw a fit. Also, I have 2 other brothers who have a lot of free time but just for gaming, not for chores.....but somehow I'm the bad guy......which also makes me believe all asian mothers are "boy moms" but that's for another day.

The problem about these mothers is not because they don't understand their children. It's because they DO NOT WANT to. Because if they do, it means they have to listen/cater to you; not the other way around. They rather die than doing THAT.

tip 1- the posting format isnt that hard to get used to actually its just you create a tumblr text post and then copy and paste your fic onto it, add the tags and stuff then post it. if you want to add banners, headers and stuff to make it look better then go ahead, just add images to the text post

tip 2- the info area is the same as above, just add pictures of your choice etc to the text post, add your information, name, age, fav things etc and then to link posts to your post, highlight where u want the link to go, then copy the link of the post u want linked then press the hyperlink that looks like two chains linked together when you highlight the text if that makes sense? sounds like a lot but its rlly not i promise haha

tip 3- always type your fics on other apps like word or google docs since they have an auto save feature!! i dont reccomend typing your fics on tumblr since one if the app crashes, it doesn't automatically save your work so everything you wrote will get deleted (some versions of tumblr do have autosave, my laptop has it but my phone and iPad doesn't, so i dont rely on it)

tip 4- idk if you want tips on actual fic writing or just how to get your fics onto tumblr but ill help you with that anyway. with me when i write fics i always imagine it out in my head. theres some of my fics where i just went with the flow and wrote wgatever came to mind and those are the fics i hate the most because they dont rlly make sense to me. theyre always so random and it just seems rushed and bad.

i picture my fics like a scene in my head and whatever i want the character to do, think, say or feel i write that shit down asap. i use other online sources to help get more descriptive like the emotion theasurus <- honestly one of my favourite things to use ever, they have so much body language to use for every emotion in the damn book

dialogue is also something i find difficult. i've improved i personally feel like but its still hard for me especially if im writing a new character. i never want to make the character seem OOC so i do lots of research before hand. i normally use the wiki to read up on a characters personality.

for example i'll use ran for this since he's like 99% of my account lmao. in the wiki, he's described as "naturally whimsical toward others which makes him inscrutable" though ran doesnt have many scenes in the manga (which i hate bc i love him sm) its impossible to actually write him down to a tee so i use that naturally whimsical description to make him playful, charismatic, carefree etc, going off what little information i have with him.

getting a characters personality down is what can make or break a dialogue. for me when im reading a fic of a character and their dialogue is so OOC it puts me off and i dont even wanna read. so i apply my same fic icks to myself and think if I don't like seeing this and that in a fic, why would I incorporate those in my fics and have ppl get put off it if they have the same fic icks as me?

tip 5- dont rush yourself at all. i used to rush a few of my fics and i just ended up hating it so much after and fought bck the urge to delete them so many times but then i'd see people's comments and realise i was being too harsh on myself. i'd keep them up but i'd just hate seeing them get attention.

rushing only makes you hate your work and the quality of your work will decline if you are not in the right headspace.

thats also why i have the don't rush me thing in my rules because not only is it annoying to see people constantly asking for updates, it also makes me mad because i know i'll just put out a piece of garbage if i did rush.

also another tip don't give yourself deadlines!! if you know your writing consistency can be a little sloppy, don't tell your followers that you're going to upload every so and so day. if something happens and you miss the deadline, you'll feel bad and rush something out and most times out of ten, a rushed fic doesn't do well. so take your time and don't rush.

tip 6- dont listen to what other people say or feel obligated to write something you don't wanna. establish your boundaries!! for example, from day one i started this blog i said im accepting requests but i will not write anything to do with non-con, incest or minors. i made sure that was out there so i wouldn't feel uncomforable writing anything i wasn't comfy with.

there are people on this app that may like your writing and request you to write something for them. you are not obligated to write anything for anyone! don't feel like you have to just because they asked nicely.

if you want to accept requests you can im not saying you shouldn't, im saying don't feel like you have to. you always have a choice. its your blog.

tip 7- remember this isn't a job. you're allowed to take breaks, allowed to have a personal life. don't feel like you need to be updating every day. i used to think i was obligated to be uploading consistently at least every week because i was obsesssed with engagement and seeing peoples comments and was scared if i took a break ppl will unfollow. now i honestly don't care. i'm not active as much as i used to because of school and that's fine! if ppl want to leave, let them. don't feel like you're forced to keep being active in order to keep your follower count stable.

tip 8- this app can get really toxic sometimes. luckily enough i've only had one toxic anon in my inbox and i've been on this app for a year. some people have so many, some ppl get harrassed etc. if that happens to you just be prepared since there's no actual way to find out who's behind anons. you can turn off your anon options which means if ppl want to inbox you something then their account will be showing. some people arent comfortable with that and that's fine! i keep mine on because i want people to feel comfortable on my page.

just remember though if you ever feel like this app is getting overwhelming take breaks! for the sake of your mental health take breaks. i know so many writers on here that took breaks and came back healthier and stronger.

i feel like this tip goes for social media in general. as much as i love social media im aware how unhealthy it is. breaks are so important for you. remember that.

oh sorry sorry this was my sleep schedule -went to bed at 2:30am -woke up at 7:45am -fell asleep at 1pm -woke up at 5:24pm still fucked as SHIT but hey fuck it we ball LMFAO BUT OMGGGG YESS kyojuro dealing with nightmares tho :(( waking up in a panic to a man who sleeps as light as I do (I wake up at my brother's laugh) just waking up alongside you and holding ur hand :(( reassuring you that you're safe, that it was just a nightmare, etc etc and I firmly stand by this man handling most things like a champ you're sick? nauseous and things happen? he's got it in the bag aforementioned, period? bleedthrough? he's got it cleaned up before you can say his name nightmares? the most gentle being. even showing you interesting things, like maybe his battle scars and explaining the stories behind them, or stories from when his mother was alive <3 like he has everything handled like a champ bro and tengen is very similar, but with nightmares he's quicker to distract and comfort you afterwards. definitely exaggerating some of his stories from his scars, telling funny stories about hina, makio and suma, stories that he comes up with right on the spot. man thinks that food or a drink is the solution to any problem-- likely asked shinobu what teas may help relax someone, or if you don't drink tea another soothing aide. I just feel he's very thorough with how he takes care of you, especially after nightmares. he wouldn't want you to relive them, so he'd just give you a quick peck and ask you the most random thing. maybe about your favorite.. something, if he already knows it he'll ask you about it. christ I got carried away MY BAD NDJKGSSKG 🪐

TBH I've always responded to people I follow having painfully bad takes by sending them anons with worse versions of their takes in the hopes that it'll reverse psychology them into having bad takes. sometimes it works in the short term but like. obviously not this time lmao; wasn't putting my best efforts in this time. anyway I realize at this point I'm a sunglasses-wearing clown honking sad insults at you from a gutter I have withered away into but like. pretty unserious of you to say "it is very possible to talk things thru if u actually give me a conversation to work with instead of a brusque worst-case assumption about me lmao" about an interaction you initiated by accusing a stranger of misogyny on extremely dubious grounds. IMO

yeah that only works if the person receiving it has no actual preexisting opinion and is just passively reacting to whatever is set in front of them. i think the main disagreement here is really just about the dubiousness--i don't know about you guys but i am not exaggerating when i say that my hour long journeys through the parahumans subreddit in desperate search for good crumbs of art have led to me seeing at least a dozen or more posts about taylor being awful/manipulative/power-hungry/etc, incl. many comparisons to walter white (unsure why comparing her to walter white is a genre of parahumans post), and elaboration on ops reason for seeing her that way has Never Not Been Misogynist. i.e. its never not been treating her highly uncharitably compared to male characters using misogynistic language in a way actually comically similar to brians in text misogynistic accusation that she's intentionally trying to outperform the rest of them to make them reliant on her (when in reality shes just a woman who is more competent than him and he feels threatened by that).

so from my perspective the language used in the post in question was, like, a blaring red siren level of indicator in terms of its similarity to other posts I've seen use that phrasing and then go on to reveal a deeply misogynist thought process behind it. if i was wrong in assuming it was part of that pattern then good, i would love 2 eat crow on finding out smth i thought was likely coming from a place of prejudice was actually just regular wrong and not wrong (shitty). big fan of when things are not actually misogynist. but whether or not i was right aside i hope it makes sense why it read as a fairly common sense leap to me based on my prior experiences. (and on a tangentially related note, op liked my response clarifying that i was suspicious of implicit misogyny and explaining why, so i doubt that they're even particularly offended by it)
