Wednesday 3-12-2025, it’s noon exactly

I’ve been up since 4 I think. Maybe 4:30. I went to bed a little before 9, so I know that’s fairly early. But yeah.

I’m not tired though. I had a busy morning and came home and made coffee and I’m just finishing it.

Wait, first let’s do my lil stats thing, out of ten: Mood 7-8, anxiety 1, focus 5, irritability 0… and I’d label my emotion as “energetic” I guess? Is that an emotion? Idk I feel satisfied and chill.

Okay. Void I’m coming for ya.

I hate driving to far away places (here in Bumblefuck, CA). But my dermatologist was in this town farther up north, so I got in the car and went. I was mad lol bc I left so early and got there on time but like, no, I was supposed to arrive early. Anyway.

They had the results of my biopsies. My scalp is just an amorphous mess, basically. But they set me up with medicated shampoos. My arms and hands, however, is this weird thing with a rather generic name, but it makes sense to me? Dermatomyositis. It’s the weird pink spots on my arms and hands, and it’s associated with major muscle weakness. Which is literally me. I’m on rinvoq for rheumatoid arthritis, and my HUGE muscle weakness has gotten better, but it’s still so shitty. I can’t move normally. Get up or down, lift things etc.

It also said something about weightloss with this thing. And it’s just a fun coincidence because #laurahasaneatingdisorder and like, idk what came first. Same with my hair loss. Idk if it’s bc I lost weight or because of my autoimmune issues.

Moving on. I’m in a productive mood. Welcomed after yesterday’s total lack of motivation and focus.

I’m gonna try to hit the ground running, but again, I need lunch. I’m gonna have two veggie burger patties with cheese and some carrots on the side. I’m gonna get yelled at for not having bread in there but like we don’t have buns. I’ll make up for it later.

ISTG the only thing I want from Miracle Queen is for Luka to be treated with kindness. I can live with just about anything else, just don’t Desperada him again.

Also Adrien is annoying me, even he cannot possibly be stupid enough not to know Kagami has a thing for him after Oni-Chan so I am not okay with the way he’s been acting. Boy should’ve backed off a long fine ago if he wasn’t ready to be serious.

So today i let a, almost stranger into my home. I didn't bat an eye when this young college girl said that she had a three out commute both ways. This meant in a day she had 6 hours to go for class until she can move into the dorms. My roommate recently left due to mental health issues leaving me with an empty room filled with some of her stuff. We're still friends and she's made it clear that if someone needs a bed they are free to hers. So this poor college kids traveling 6 hours a day just for class got asked a question. " Do you want to stay in my guest room. " She was amazed that I had offered. That I wasn't joking. That I wasn't pulling her leg. And I wasn't. Currently she is asleep in my extra bedroom and I am on my couch typing this. I'm happy that I was able to help someone out. It feels good. I also called my dad to tell him and he was very proud of me, so yay! That's a plus.

Fucking hate my “back up” at my job. She’s fucking stupid, lazy, and doesn’t deserve the title as a type of any management. She’s racist, she’s greedy, she doesn’t care about the job or the people, she makes fun of the other people, she’s not a nice person but puts up the pathetic front of “being a good person”. She kisses ass to move up while everyone else works hard. I can’t stand her. She won’t even go for other positions because she would actually have to work and she can’t do that.

This scene drives me a little crazy because of the difference in the French and English translation. Unfortunately my 6 years of French ended more than a decade ago so I can’t totally decipher what Luka is saying and I’m not at all confident in my translation, but one difference is that he said “Try to be natural, Adrien.” When I saw it in English I wasn’t really sure who he was talking to, whether he was encouraging Marinette on how not to fall or giving Adrien advice about Kagami, but in French he is clearly addressing Adrien. Also, and I’m really super not sure about this, but I could swear he says follow *her* rhythm, not *the* rhythm. And then the next part really eludes me, but I think it says “Let yourself go, and let her (something). I might just be totally wrong, I wish I could see the written version of the French, I’d probably understand better.

It also bothers me that at the end of the ep, in French Luka says “I think you have some things to say to him” vs the English translation “You should go talk to him.” Sometimes I just don’t understand why they make the changes they do. I know I’m pedantic but to me those say different things!

Anyway, what I took away from the French that wasn’t clear to me in the English was 1) Luka knew they were there to help Adrien with Kagami 2) Luka knows Marinette wanted to say something specific to Adrien rather than just making a general suggestion that they talk and clear the air or whatever.

I’ve been creating this story in my head today where I meet a little puppy who’s down on her luck and I take her to get her fur cut and we get her nice bows for her ears and then we get puppucinos. Lol. Does anyone have random thought-stories like that that keep them company? Let me rephrase that: does anyone who’s equally mentally fucked as me have weird ways to deal with boredom??? Because boredom leads to anxiety?!?! Lol I’m fine and I’m glad I’m fine, but I’m at the three month mark of sanity. Whiiiich is always where I need to be careful. Note to selfffff, swallow the pills take the supplements journal about nonsense sleep like a normal human being and maybe breathe or something idk. Okay back to the previous thing, my coping mechanisms began to be things geared for younger people some time ago. Little squishy mochi creatures I can squeeze (stimming? love it) and so many other fidget toys. The thing where I cover my head isn’t necessarily childish, but it’s not always something I’m able to do (luckily it’s not something I always need to do, or it hasn’t been for 3 months lol). Many parts of the show including the side characters/secondary love interests are poorly written, period, Luka ain’t special in that regard.

It’s hard to give a character you want people to like flaws when they’re only on screen for a few minutes at a time.

They don’t need to give Luka flaws to break them up, it’s enough that he’s Not Adrien. Luka looks at Marinette at any point and says “you’re still in love with Adrien, go be happy” and then she’d give him a weepy cheek kiss and go racing off after Adrien a la Frozer. Look me in the eye and tell me that would be unbelievable in the context of the show so far, even after Miracle Queen.

They are not together, unless “play me a song” is some hip new lingo for “be my boyfriend” so there doesn’t have to be some big dramatic breakup?

If you’re trying to make a foil for your male lead and everyone is like “he’s so perfect” then dude maybe that secondary character isn’t the one you should be rethinking? I mean I would argue that Luka has all of Adrien/Chat’s good qualities but none of his flaws? (He’s romantic and protective without being jealous and pushy, he’s perceptive where Adrien is dense) Could it be that maybe The Folks In Charge don’t actually see Adrien as all that flawed? That maybe they think Luka’s gentle nature is enough of a flaw in itself? That maybe they think maybe given the choice of a jealous (passionate) pushy (persistent) guy or a gentle (weak) respectful (boring) guy, women would universally choose the former?

Don’t get mad, write (or read!) fanfic. It’s actually not that hard to extrapolate some potential flaws from what’s been shown on screen. I can think of three right off the top of my head that haven’t necessarily been shown but could be believable.

No one actually “needs” to acknowledge that he (or any other character) is poorly written if they don’t want to? Let people like what they like? You don’t know what version they’re seeing in their heads?
