Could i request a joost x reader where reader is partying with joost and friends. they meet ski aggu and are chilling and they tell ski that they are super into joost but joost isnt into them and they are sad about it. The ski aggu makes it his mission to make joost jealous to get them together and there is a lil angst but reader and joost end up together and making out.

You should write Mel a thank you note, really. For one because she always lets you crash at her place whenever you visit Berlin (which happens to be very frequently, actually) but also for tagging along to her party nights with her Berlin friends which also include the famous German rapper Ski Aggu and his dutch friend Joost who you couldn't seem to keep your eyes from. Ever since you first met last time you were in Berlin (which was only three weeks ago) you were crushing on the man - hard. And suddenly you were pretending you knew more about music than you actually did just so you could try to hold a conversation with Joost. And you stepped out one time too many to smoke a cigarette with him when you usually smoked maybe two cigarettes within one year. And overthinking whatever you should wear to go out with Mel and all her friends without even knowing if Joost was gonna be there that evening as well.
And when you decided to visit Mel again just three weeks after having been the last time ("Already?"), maybe Joost was a deciding factor as well. You didn't even know if he was gonna be in Berlin around the same time as well but you were in luck when you and Mel walked into the bar and you could see Joost's figure sitting beside Aggu. You tried to play it cool as you greeted everyone and finally got to Joost.
"So nice to see you again," you said earnestly as you both hugged.
"Likewise," Joost said and gently rubbed your back. You hoped that he wasn't just being polite and actually remembered you.
You were also in luck when there was a free spot beside Joost which you could take as you tried to casually open a conversation with him, talking about whatever the two of you had been up to in the last few weeks. You talked about his hometown, your hometown, why you were visiting Berlin so often and how you were thinking of moving here. You could tell that Joost was taking interest in the conversation and by extension you, but it wasn't enough for you. You knew that you wanted Joost in other ways and you wondered how and if you could persuade him of you.
"I'm getting a new drink," you announced. "Does anybody want anything?" you asked and hoped Joost would say something or offer to come with you to the bar.
"Actually, I'll go with you," Ski Aggu offered instead.
"Alright," you smiled and you two headed off to the bar.
The bar was incredibly crowded and you could already tell that you would have to wait a while until the bartender would get around to take your orders. You leaned against the counter.
"So, does Joost visit here often?" you asked and immediately regretted it as it came out way too obsessively as you had intended to. Aggu laughed.
"Why do you want to know?" he asked amused.
"I don't know, just because I don't live here as well," you tried to casually explain.
"Yeah, well, he's working on new music currently, so he comes here a lot," Aggu said and paused as he seemed to contemplate for a moment. "Joost is cute, right?" he tested you. Blood rushed to your head.
"I suppose," you shrugged nonchalantly.
"Nah, come on, he's very cute, we can agree on that," Aggu pushed jokingly.
"I imagine most girls would agree," you said.
"Maybe, but I'm talking about you," Aggu said and poked your shoulder as he said the last word. "Do you think he's cute?" he asked again. "Or sexy or dreamy or whatever?"
"Yeah, I think Joost is very cute," you blushed. "Is it obvious?" you asked.
"Well, I think Mel mentioned how you're not a smoker when we first met and suddenly Joost is here and all of a sudden you're out with him for a smoke every hour or so," he teased and you hid your face behind your hands in embarrassment.
"Oh god," you groaned.
"Nah, come on, it doesn't matter," Aggu said. "Nothing to be embarrassed about," he insisted and removed your hands from in front of your face.
"Yeah, but Joost definitely doesn't like me," you explained with a saddened expression on your face. Aggu raised an eyebrow.
"How do you know that?" he inquired.
"I don't know, I just feel like he's deliberately treating me like a friend, you know, in a very platonic way only," you tried to explain. "Like he's very persistent about me just being a friend - if that," you said. Aggu looked sceptical.
"Listen, I don't know if Joost likes you back but I do know that he's a little awkward about flirting and expressing his feelings and whatever," he said. "He might need a little help to push him along," Aggu said with a knowing smile. You looked at him with a confused expression on your face. "You can say no to this if you want, but I have an idea for us," Aggu said and you nodded, indicating for him to keep going. "What if we both do a little thing to make Joost jealous?" Aggu proposed and your heart started racing.
"What do you mean?" you asked.
"Let's just try for tonight to spend a lot of time together, laughing a lot, sitting very close to each other, touching, flirting and just rubbing it in Joost's face that you're having a great time with me?" Aggu explained. "In fact, I saw Joost looking over at us standing here a few times already," Aggu pointed out and you looked over to the table where all your friends were sitting and as your gaze crossed Joost's eyes he immediately averted the gaze and looked in another direction. "We've got nothing to lose, either way the outcome, we'll just have a fun evening together," Aggu concluded.
You contemplated Aggu's idea for a second before you decided that he was right - you had nothing to lose. Aggu obviously was a nice and handsome guy so you wouldn't mind having a fun evening with him as well.
"Alright, it's a deal," you said with a smile and extended your hand before Aggu took it for a handshake.
"Alright, let's start with me buying you a drink," Aggu grinned and moved to stand closer to you. You casually rested your hand on Aggus bicep as you kept talking until the bartender finally took both of your orders.
"Is this okay?" Aggu asked as his arm wrapped around your waist to hold you.
"Yes," you said and you wondered whether Joost could see you right now, what he would feel at the sight of you two being so close to one another. "Thanks for the drink," you said and cheered your cup to Aggu's after you got your drinks.
"Scoot over," Aggu directed Joost as you got back to your table. You could read a confused expression on Joost's face for just a second before he darted his eyes back and forth between you and Aggu quickly. As Joost moved over from his spot Aggu could now sit beside him and you could take your seat beside Aggu.
As you were talking with Aggu you made an effort to seem careless and laugh at every joke he made, softly grazing his arm if the chance occurred or bite your lips as you watched his face. It took everything in you to look to the left of Aggu to check on Joost. You were so desperate to see whether he was fazed by your spiel. But you knew you needed to ignore him for the time being. Aggu took the biggest leap so far when he casually wrapped his arm around your shoulders to bring you closer to him as you giggled.
"Alright, I'm going for a smoke," Joost announced almost immediately after. Aggu's arm dropped from your shoulder as you both had to move over to let Joost out of the booth. After Joost got out he stood there for a moment looking down at you with a blank expression. Did he wait for you to join him for a cigarette as you always had in the past? Surely not, you thought before Joost turned around to get outside alone.

Joost leaned against the wall outside as his cigarette was slowly nearing its end. Usually, you would be leaning against the wall beside him as well and he would intently listen to whatever story you were telling him, always grateful that you were so good at making conversation. If it weren't for that fact you might as well would have never talked to each other. And although Joost tended to be a little quieter around you, he was hanging onto every word you said. The truth is, Joost was a little shy around you because you mattered to him. Because he liked you, he was way too afraid to mess something up. So he stood back instead.
But now he was cursing himself for doing so. Because apparently now you had enough of him and instead you were attached at the hip with Aggu. And the situation was made worse by the fact that Aggu was Joost's friend. He was annoyed at Aggu for snatching you away from him but he knew he shouldn't feel angry and instead be happy for his friend.
Joost flicked his cigarette to the ground and stumped it out before he decided to get back inside. As he looked over to the table where you and your friends sat he caught your gaze. You were sitting on Aggu's lap, your arm wrapped around his shoulders. Joost stood still, the sight really making him not want to sit back down beside you. Aggu leaned into you and whispered something into your ear as you were still looking over at Joost who couldn't hide the sad expression on his face.
Joost felt uncomfortable and looked down at his phone before he decided to step out again instead of sitting back down at the table. Time for another cigarette or just maybe go back home already. As Joost lit the cigarette in his hand, the door to the bar opened again and you stepped out into the cold.
"Hey," you said softly.
"Hey," Joost replied with a nod. "Want one?" he asked and held out his hand with his pack of cigarettes. Your arms were crossed in front of your body because of the temperature. You looked down at his offer before you declined.
"You know I usually don't smoke," you admitted.
"Really?" Joost asked with a raise of an eyebrow. "That's news to me," Joost said although it really shouldn't come as a surprise to him as he noticed that you never carried your own pack of cigarettes.  
"I know," you laughed. "Are you having a good evening?" you asked.
"Not really," Joost admitted honestly.
"How come?" you asked and Joost didn't answer. Instead, he just shrugged as if it wasn't a big deal. You could feel an aura of sadness radiating from him and you suddenly felt really bad for the spiel you and Aggu had been doing tonight. Although you still didn't know how Joost felt about you, you wondered if you had somehow contributed to his bad mood tonight.
"How long are you staying in Berlin for?" Joost asked after he released a puff of smoke.
"Another two days," you said. "You?" you asked in return.
"'M leaving next week," Joost said. "You should come back soon," Joost tried nonchalantly, giving you a sign that he cared about you in some way.
"You think?" you said with a smile.
"Yeah, you're fun to have around," Joost said.
"Well, I'm sorry if I haven't been around you tonight a lot," you said earnestly.
"It's fine," Joost said. If he had the confidence of Aggu, Joost would only have to take one step forward to engulf you in a kiss. "Can't blame Aggu," he said and immediately realised the implication of his words. He looked up at you again and saw a smirk on your face.
"You know me and Aggu aren't actually-," you tried to explain. "We're just friends," you said and Joost could feel a blush creeping on his face.
"Oh?" Joost said.
"Yeah, I'm interested in someone else actually," you said.
"Oh," Joost stated.
"If only he would notice already," you said and looked Joost deeply in the eyes.
"Maybe he's too shy," Joost offered.
"He doesn't have to be," you said and stepped towards Joost. You reached out for his hand and took the cigarette before you put it to your mouth to take a drag. As you let it fall to the floor Joost slowly and carefully reached out his arm to your hip without actually laying his hand on there. You stepped just a little closer until his hand touched your hip and you were standing so close you had to look up to him. "He could just kiss me," you said and it wasn't long before Joost leaned down, his hand finding the back of your neck, and his lips attached to yours.
You approvingly hummed into the kiss. Joost's lips tasted of beer and smoke but it was a divine taste to you as your lips started moving against each other in sync. You rested your hands on Joost's chest where you could feel his calm breathing. Joost's hands tangled in your hair as your lips parted to taste each other on your tongue. Your head was spinning, heart racing as you finally got what you had been looking for since the night you first met Joost.
As you pulled back from the kiss Joost cupped your face and looked down at you with a sheepish grin on his face.
"We should've done this way sooner," he stated.
"That's what I've been saying!" you laughed before you leaned back in for another kiss.

More Than You Know (Leah Williamson x Reader)

All right! So this is a F1 reader x Leah fic requested by anon. Again any feedback good or bad is welcomed! I'm sorry if there's lots of f1 talk and some don't get it. I have another f1 fic coming up but other than that nothing else so, if people want to start sending me requests, please do! I'll get more into that later. Anyways, enjoy!

Set at Abu Dhabi GP, end of 2023
Thursday
“Hello everyone, and welcome to the final press conference of the 2023 Formula 1 season.” You fix your shirt as you settle into the seat. Max Verstappen, your teammate, on your left with Charles Leclerc beside him.
“Question for Y/N and Max, heading into the final race of the season the title battle is close between the two of you. What kind of mindset do you have for one of the most important races in your career?”
“To win,” Max says simply. All the reporters let out a laugh as you crack a smile.
“Y/N?” The guy who asked the question prompts you.
“Uh, well, I mean for sure to win is the goal but, trying to just stay calm and do what I’ve done for the last twenty-two races,” you explain. After a few more minutes of questions, they let you go. Walking through the paddock and into the Red Bull garage you can’t help but let your mind spiral. This was your first championship battle, this was Max’s third. You were only 22 years old, if you won on Sunday you’d be the youngest-ever F1 champion and the first-ever female champion. You knew you had to be a little lucky on race day, considering you sat five points behind Max. 
Entering your driver room you’re met with your girlfriend, Leah Williamson.
“Hey babe, what are you doing now?” She asks you, watching as you pace back and forth across the room.
“Track walk, I think.” 
“Okay, well I’m going to meet up with Alex in a couple of minutes so, I’ll see you later, yeah?” She presses a small kiss on your forehead. 
“Okay, yeah, see you later,” 
Friday
You loved racing around Yas Marina Circuit, it had just the right amount of technical corners and overtaking opportunities. You loved the lights and going underneath the hotel. Probably the worst part of it though, was the heat. Sitting in your car you feel like you’re going to die from the heat. Sweat just keeps pouring from every pore on your body, making your race suit damp. At the end of Free Practice 2 you were the fastest overall. This gives you a little bit of confidence, your race pace also seemed to be pretty strong so these were all good signs. Leah watches as you take your crash helmet and balaclava off, trying your best to fix your sweaty hair. You looked hot, and Leah was living for it.
“You’re drooling,” Alex, who happened to be right beside her, said. Leah shakes out of her trance enough to give Alex a light slap on the shoulder. 
“Whatever mate, if you had a girlfriend as hot as mine you’d be drooling as well.”
A couple of hours later, after all the media was done and the sponsor dinner was finished, you and Leah finally were able to settle into bed. Leah’s arm draped over you and her head nuzzled into your neck. She was just about to doze off when you spoke very quietly into the darkness,
“Would you be mad at me if I didn’t win?” Of course, Leah knew you were nervous, who in their right mind wouldn’t be? But, for you to think that she would be angry with you if you finished second? That was terrible.
“Of course not, love, I’d be sad for you, sure, but mad? Never.” This seems to calm you down a bit, and soon enough you both are sleeping soundly.
Saturday
“Good luck kiss?”  Your favourite blonde questions. It was a tradition in your relationship, whenever either of you were participating in a sporting event you had to make sure you kissed just before it started. 
“Of course,”  you say with a smile, not that she can see it. Your helmet already on with your visor up so she can see your eyes. Leah kisses where she imagines your lips are, you can’t help the dopey smile that comes across your face, the squint of your eyes making it obvious what you’re doing.
Leah watches on as your car pulls out of the garage and onto the track. After making it through both Q1 and Q2 easily now comes the biggest test, the top 10 shootout. Your banker lap for Q3 is solid, only six-hundredths of Max’s time and you know you can improve. As you cross the line to start your second flying lap you feel the adrenaline rush through your veins. Every turn of the steering wheel, every push of the pedals, and every G against your body feels just right. Heading into the final sector you know you’re going faster than your first lap. Crossing the line, your entire body relaxes as you hear your engineer over the radio,
“Okay mate, that’s P1 so far, P1 so far, but Max is yet to cross the line.” You wait anxiously for Max to finish his lap. Leah feels her heart sink as she sees Max’s name move above yours on the timing screen. 
“For fuck’s sake, fuck this shit, honestly,” you say over the radio.
“It’s okay Y/N, points come tomorrow,” your engineer replies.
“You’re right, you’re right, let’s get them tomorrow.”
Leah gives you a hug when she finally sees you after all the media and post-qualifying traditions.
“You did great love, don’t be too hard on yourself,” she says sweetly. You sigh, knowing she is right.
“Mhm, I’m not that happy but I’ll get over it. I think right now all I wanna do is go back to the hotel and cuddle with you,” you mutter with a little pout. Leah finds this adorable. So, when you guys do get back to the hotel she cuddles with you until you fall asleep, only hours before one of the most important races of your life.
Sunday
When you wake up you feel the nerves settle inside of you. Leah tried her best to get you to eat something before your race. Abu Dhabi was a night race so, you still had the whole day ahead of you. After going through the pre-race meetings with your engineers you feel pretty confident in the strategy for today. As you walk around the grid with the music in your headphones blasting you see your girlfriend walking towards you. Slipping one side of your ear so you can hear, you give her a questioning look. She never usually comes onto the grid before races, why would she now? 
“I just wanted to wish you good luck,” Leah says kindly, “I know you’re nervous, but don’t be, you’re gonna smash it out there.” Your heart melts at her consideration.
“Thanks Lee, I’ll do you proud I swear,” you say, looking at her with what can only be described as heart-eyes. 
“You already have, more than you know,” she smiles at you, giving one last kiss on your lips before heading back to the garage.
A couple of minutes later, you’re sitting inside your car mentally preparing yourself for the race. The entire formation lap your mind is blank, trying your best to not overthink. As you park in your grid slot as close to a billion people watch with their breaths held.
“And it’s lights out and away we go for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix!” Crofty exclaims into his microphone.
You get a good start drawing alongside Max heading into the first corner, but he pushes you wide. As the pair of you continue to the first of two long straights, you follow closely behind him gaining a slipstream. When you enter the braking zone you decide to go for a dive bomb, getting your elbows out a little to barge past your teammate and take the lead. 
“She can’t fucking do that, mate. She pushed me off the track,” Max voices to GP.
“If Max has a problem with that, then he can cry in a crib, that was clean.”
As the race gets past halfway done, both you and Max had made pit stops, while also exchanging the lead of the race multiple times. Leah had about chewed her entire nail off watching. She was nervous as hell, she could feel something bad about to happen, she just knew it in her gut. 
You once again closed up to the rear end of Max with DRS. As you got close enough to pass you slightly jerked out to the left before cutting back to the right, effectively dummying him. You were on the outside heading into the sweeping left-hander of Turn 9, you tried your best to give him space, but he completely misses the apex and rams into your front wheel/side of your car. Your neck whips to the side as you try to keep control of your car. 
“What the fuck was that?! What a fucking idiot, I gave him shitloads of space! Is there any damage on the car?” You are pretty much yelling into the radio. The anger you’re feeling showing through your choice of words.
“So, major front wing damage we are going to have to box. Box, box.” Swearing under your breath you pull into the pit lane for new tyres and a new front wing. Stopping on your marks you sit there for what feels like forever before finally getting the green light and getting back on track. Leah knows you are fuming but she also knows that you’re very good at turning that anger into motivation. She readies herself for a wild end to the race.
“Okay, so the gap to Max is 30 seconds.”
“Just leave me alone, I know what to do,” you say sternly.
For the next 24 laps, you put in of the most impressive comebacks in F1 history. Closing the gap a little bit each lap. You fully catch up to him on the final lap of the race. The entire world sits on the edge of their seat as you stick right up to Max’s gearbox for the majority of the lap. Entering the final sector, you find the gap to stick your nose down. Making an unorthodox move down the inside into Turn 12. When it becomes clear that you stuck the move your side of the garage goes crazy. Leah screams, thinking it is too good to be true. As you head around the final corner, the Red Bull mechanics hang off the side of the fence cheering and yelling as you cross the finish line. 
“She’s redefined motorsport as we know it, and as she crosses the line Y/N Y/L/N is CHAMPION OF THE WORLD!” Crofty shouts. 
“AAAHHHH OH MY GODDDD! YESSS GUYS COME ON! I’M GONNA FUCKING CRY!” You scream over the radio. 
“YOU” VE DONE IT MATE! YOU’VE DONE IT! GOOD LORD!” Your engineer screams back at you. You start to cry as you go around for your celebration lap. When you park in front of the number 1 sign you take a minute inside of your car to collect your thoughts. Finally, you get out and stand on top of the car, raising your arms in celebration. You jump down and start sprinting to your team. After receiving multiple hugs and slaps on the back, mixed with a varying range of screams and yells, you decide to look for your girlfriend. Looking around you spot your favourite person on Earth and make a beeline for her. She pulls you into a bone-crunching hug, tears streaming down her face. 
“I’m so fucking proud of you, more than you know,” she says tearfully. You give her an award-winning smile before moving to take your helmet and balaclava off. You surprise Leah when you connect your lips in front of God knows how many cameras. 
“I’m a World Champion Lee, a World Champion.”
“I know Y/N, I know,” she giggles at how excited you look. After completing the post-race interview you make your way to the podium.
“And your Abu Dhabi Grand Prix winner and 2023 World Champion, Y/N Y/L/N!” 
The crowd and paddock below you roar as you make your way onto the podium, pumping your fists with joy. Stepping onto the top step of the podium, a sense of relief washes over you, everything you’d worked for this entire season, your entire life basically, had finally paid off. You take your cap off when your national anthem plays and begin to scan through the crowd until you meet blue ones. You give her a grin and blow her a kiss. She returns it. When you are finally handed your first-place trophy you raise it high with a little yell. After the rest of the podium is handed their trophies, you get to your favourite part, the champagne. Spraying it in every possible place, you can’t stop the stupid-looking smile from taking over your facial features. When the celebrations seem to die down a little you look over at Leah, mouthing,
“I love you.”
“I love you too,” she mouths back.
“More than you know.”

“Let’s go, Roy-o!” you shrieked from your seat as the announcers called his name in those booming voices that echoed through the stadium.
Katie rolled her eyes playfully as she clapped along with the roaring crowd. “You are the most obvious human being I’ve ever met, you know that?”
“I can afford to be obvious now,” you said with a smile. When Katie quirked a curious eyebrow at you, you leaned in close. “He asked me to make things official last night.” You sounded like a silly little teenage girl, all giddy and delighted over a boy, and you didn’t care one bit. “To be his girlfriend. To stay together even after I’m back at uni. That whole thing.”
Her smile was soft and genuine. “Oh, that’s so great!” she gushed as she grabbed your hand. “Now we can plan some real double dates. Go out on the town, all four of us.” Her glee faded as she studied you for a moment. “But what about your-”
“We’re telling him after the match.” For the first time since Roy climbed back out your window in the early hours of the morning, you felt confident in the idea of telling your dad. This wasn’t just a summer fling anymore; it was something real, something that would hopefully last.
And your dad was going to have to figure out how to deal with it.
Katie let out a low whistle. “Well, good luck with that,” she hummed, giving your hand a squeeze. “Let me know if you need help planning Kent’s funeral.”
You gave her a friendly shove and turned your attention back to the pitch, not bothering to hide the way you couldn’t keep your eyes off of Roy. In a few hours, your dad would know, and there would be no reason to keep anything a secret from anyone. You’d be able to come to every match and proudly wear Roy's name on your back, the way all the wives and girlfriends did, and wrap your arms around him when he emerged fresh from the showers. He could take you to post-match celebrations and charity events and any of the fabulous places a fella like him would take his girl. And you’d be able to bring him home, have him spend time with your family, properly introduce him to your mates.
As long as your dad didn’t kill Roy first.

After the match- a flawless 4-0 Chelsea victory, much to your relief- you lingered by Katie’s side to wait for the men to come out of the changing room. When was the last time your palms were this sweaty or your heart raced this fast? Every time a player walked out the door, your mouth went dry, wondering when it would be Roy. Somehow, you just knew that his sparkling brown eyes would be enough to calm all your nerves.
Jules emerged with a smirk on his face. After kissing his wife, he quirked an eyebrow at you. “Kent’s pretty jealous.”
“What makes you say that?” you huffed, pretending you weren’t utterly pleased at the mere mention of Roy's name.
Jules tugged on the sleeve of your kit playfully. “Apparently he doesn’t like that you wore my kit instead of his today.” He quirked his eyebrow. “Mumbled something about his girlfriend being unsupportive already.” His eyes shifted to a grinning Katie before returning to you. “Want to explain to me why the hell Kent’s calling you his girlfriend, princess?”
“Because she fucking is.” Roy smirked down at you, his fingertips twitching as he shot you a wink. “And at our next match, there better be a six on your back, gorgeous.”
You beamed up at him. “You were great today, Kent.” Fuck, you wished you could grab him and kiss that smirk. Next time, you promised yourself as the two of you batted your eyes at each other, probably making the married couple roll their own eyes. Next time you’d be wearing his kit, and you’d be able to greet him with a girlish squeal and a kiss. You’d get to finally be Roy Kent’s girl.
All you had to do was break the news to your dad.
“Your dad’s already in his press conference,” Roy murmured with raised eyebrows. “Should we… go wait in his office?”
There was that dryness in your throat again. “Yeah,” you managed, blinking rapidly. “Guess we should.” You offered Katie and Jules a tight smile. “We’ll see you guys later.”
“Good luck,” Katie called in a sing-song voice as you and Roy turned to walk down to the coaching offices.
Sure enough, your dad’s office was empty and dark. You flipped on the light and turned on his television, greeted by his face as he sat in front of the crowd of reporters. His normally stern expression was relaxed as he answered questions about the match, clearly glowing from such a great win. If there was ever a day to tell him that you were dating his completely off-limits star midfielder, it was today.
Roy leaned against the edge of your dad’s desk, next to the framed photo of you and your brother that sat by your dad’s computer. Roy took your hand and tugged you to stand close to him, pressing the tiniest kiss to your temple as his thumb stroked the back of your hand.
“It’s gonna be fine,” he whispered.
You gulped and nodded, keeping your eyes trained on your dad’s face. “I know.”
“-performed very well today,” your dad was saying as he picked up the water bottle that sat beside a microphone. “For goodness’ sake, the man scored two goals today. Don’t know what all this is about a slump. I hope all the fellas fall into this kind of a slump.” He chuckled good-naturedly and pointed off-camera. “Next question.”
“Moving on from today’s match,” a cautious voice called out. “Coach, what d’you have to say about those photos of Roy Kent and…” The reporter cleared his throat. “… your daughter?”
For a moment, your father’s face was bright red as he set down the unopened water bottle. “I’m sorry?”
Your blood ran cold while the reporter continued. “There are photos of them at a casino. They were with, uh, Jules and his wife.” He cleared his throat again. “They were quite cozy.”
“Fuck.” Roy squeezed your hand and tore his eyes away from the television. “I-”
“I don’t comment on my players’ private lives.” Your dad’s jaw was tight as he sat up at his full height. “Especially Roy Kent.” His laugh rang hollow in your ears. “If I commented on every rumor about that kid’s love life, I’d never have time to manage this team.” He moved to stand, not quite looking at the camera. “Now, if there’s no more football-related questions, I think we’re done here.”
Roy let out a low growl and switched the telly off. “Well, fuck.”
“You should leave,” you murmured, looking into Roy’s panicked eyes. “Seriously, Roy. This is so much worse than we thought. It might be better if you go.”
He shook his head. “Fuck no.” He let go of your hand in favor of wrapping his arm around your waist. “We said we’re doing this together,” he said slowly. “So, we’re doing this together. I’m not going to be the kind of prick who runs away when things get hard.” He sighed and closed his eyes. “And this is going to be so fucking hard.”
The two of you flinched when you heard doors slam and feet stomping. Instinctively, Roy removed his hand from your hip, but he stayed close enough for you to feel his warmth. A smart move, you had to admit. A smarter move would be for him to run away from Stamford Bridge altogether, to never speak to you again, but you were glad he stayed. Something besides fear swelled in your heart when you realized that Roy was sticking by your side, even in the face of your father.
Your father, whose raised voice you could hear down the hall. “Where the hell is my kid? And where the fuck is Kent?”
Your entire body trembled as his footsteps came closer, finally stopping in front of the open door of his office. His eyes widened when he took in the sight of you, standing far too close to Roy Kent in the office that held framed photos of your childhood and crayon drawings from over a decade ago. He stormed in, ignoring you in favor of grabbing Roy by his t-shirt.
“What the fuck is wrong with you, Kent?” he barked. “All the fucking models and actresses in London, and you decide to shag my daughter?”
Roy shook his head frantically, hands up in defense. “Coach, it’s not like that-”
“Get the fuck out, Kent.” He released Roy and pointed to the door. “Before I take a real good look at your contract.”
You found your voice. “Daddy,” you said shakily. “Roy’s not going anywhere.” You reached down and intertwined your fingers with Roy's, ignoring the player's wide eyes. “We’re dating, Dad. Me and Roy.” You gave Roy’s hand a squeeze. “We-”
“One rule.” Your dad’s voice was low, filled with anger. “I had one rule for you hanging around here. No. Footballers.” He pointed at Roy. “Especially that one.” He shook his head at you. “What were you thinking?"
“I’m thinking I care about Roy and he cares about me.” You gripped Roy’s hand like it was a lifesaver. “And I’m thinking I’m an adult. You can’t tell me who I can and can’t date. I’m not sixteen anymore.”
Your dad’s eyes were full of rage and pain as he stared at you, looking at you like you were a complete stranger. “You’re sure acting sixteen, sneaking around behind my back.” He shook his head, eyeing Roy with disgust. “But you’re right. You’re apparently all grown up now. Do what the fuck you want.” He grabbed his bag from behind his desk and made his way to the door. “Besides, you’ll be back at school soon enough.” His gaze was steely, lacking any of the usual affection he sent your way. “And Kent’ll be back to his normal self. Once you're gone, he'll be right back to his models. Maybe then you’ll realize I was right about him all along.”

"Are they close??" you kept asking anxiously not wanting to miss the bus and lose a chance to surprise your boyfriend.
That morning you told Pablo said he didn't want to risk it with you in the crowds alone but what he didn't know is that you made a plan with Aurora to see it from their family apartment in the center of Barcelona which has a beautiful balcony.
"We can't miss them hermanita. People will start screaming and I checked in with him, they are almost in the center" Aurora explained pouring some more wine into your glass smiling reassuringly.
Ever since you and Pablo started officially dating, Aurora had been the biggest supporter of your love always saying that you make her little brother the happiest. She basically sees you as family.
"Alright, ready?" she said and you nodded in excitement rushing on the balcony immediately catching the sight of the bus and quickly spotting your boy jumping up and down like a happy child. He was so adorable and you were very proud of his achievements.
You brought from home his old Barça flag with his face on it wrapping it around your shoulders before stepping out on the balcony cheering with Rora.
Pablo didn't see you immediately, overwhelmed by the amount of people surrounding the bus and chanting his name. He knew that you won't be in the crowd because he didn't want to risk when he wasn't there to protect you knowing well how these things can go terribly wrong.
"Hermano! Hermano! Look!" Pedri pointed being tipped by Aurora and Pablo furrowed his eyes adorably before looking up at the balcony his eyes widening and his heart skipping a beat.
There you were..standing with his sister on the balcony looking more beautiful than ever wearing his old jersey with some black shorts and with a Barça flag around your shoulders...his niña perfecta!
"Amor!" Pablo yelled reaching his hand out like he could reach you and you smiled wide waving to him before taking off the flag and moving closer to the railing of the balcony.
"Ten cuidado!" he said and you blushed nodding your head before tossing him the flag and he caught it smelling it before putting it around his own shoulders.
"Smells like you.." he whispered and you smiled nodding your head and sending him a kiss while he called his friends to show them that his girls came to see him.
"Ai I see her! Hola amiga!" Ansu and Balde were waving at you together with Pedri, Ferran and Araujo. Pablo was smiling proudly up at you like nobody else existed around you and he prayed that this bus never moves again.
"Te amo.." he whispered but you could read his lips nodding your head before turning around showing him his name on your back before sending him another kiss he caught.
"Y/n! Y/n!" suddenly everyone underneath the apartment was chanting your name and you blushed bright red while Aurora giggled hugging your shoulders and Pablo yelled your name with everyone.
People applauded when you waved to everyone before returning to their own little celebrations as the bus started moving and Pablo gave you sad eyes..he just wanted to keep re-living him moment forever!
You sent each other one last kiss before he was starting to be too far away to see. Immediately then, your phone buzzed and you knew who it was.

Y/N's POV:
I wiped the blood from my hands on the dirty cloth that lives in my car door. The cloth always had dried blood and car oil poisoning its originally white appearance. I proceeded to wipe my knife down, clearing it of evidence. Car lights approached my location and I sprung into gear. If other vampires see what I did here they'll never stop hunting me. Since I was standing at the trunk of my car I easily grabbed my pistol and crouched. If it is vampires at least the pistol will slow them down enough till I can get my knife out again as I slipped it into my belt out of reflex. A Chevy Impala pulled up, the hum of the engine sounding harsh against the quiet night, though impressed I approached stealthily. I hurried to the boot of their car as it stopped and waited. I heard two car doors open and then close. 
"That's ridiculous it would never work," One man said approaching the trunk. I looked around frantically looking for a way out. I considered hiding under their car but that's the dumbest idea I've ever considered. I quickly hid in the bushes nearest the trunk.
"Oh, coz your plan was so brilliant." The other sarcastically commented. They made it to the trunk and propped the false bottom open with a shotgun. Seeing their boot was full of weapons and symbols I knew they were either hunters themselves or were vampires who had stolen a car from a hunter.
I stepped out of the bushes quietly and loaded my pistol. They both froze at the sound, their spines instantly straightening. 
"Put your hands up and turn around slowly," I instructed in a bossy tone. They slowly put their hands up and exchanged a look as they turned around. The shorter one made a stance which told me he was about to try and grab a weapon. I shot the shotgun base which held the boot's false bottom open which revealed their weapons. The boot slammed with the force, almost snapping off his hands. He breathed heavily. "Where in my instructions did I tell you to try and kill me?" I asked and looked at them expectedly. They said nothing as they looked at me.  "Hunters or Vampires?" I asked. The shorter guy groaned and slapped the sides of his legs as he exaggerated his groan, theatrically putting his hands down. 
"Of course, you're a hunter." The shorter guy complained. "Why is it that when an attractive woman holding a gun shows up she's a hunter?!" He huffed and puffed like a child. I sighed as I rolled my eyes before shooting the floor close to his feet. He jumped and looked at me like I had just killed a puppy. 
"You do realise I'm still holding a gun?" I asked rhetorically. He said nothing. 
"Excuse me," The tall guy said softly. I turned to aim my pistol at him and he smiled uneasily. "Hi, we're Sam and Dean Winchester, are you a hunter?" He asked sheepishly making me groan. Of course, they're the Winchesters, nothing but trouble.  
"Yes, and since you're the Winchesters enjoy your night," I saluted with two fingers, put my pistol in its holster and started walking towards my car. 
"You're bleeding!" The tallest, Sam, announced like I hadn't noticed. The blood was trickling down my bare leg soaking my shorts as the stream of blood ran down. While fighting, a vampire threw me across the room and a sharp chair leg impaled my side. It made the vampires more hungry for me but I was determined not to die today. "You've lost a lot of blood, you shouldn't be driving," 
"Yes, mother," I sarcastically commented as I opened the driver's side door. I heard the brothers approaching, and I internally groaned. 
"Come with us, we'll fix you up and send you on your way," Dean explained. I looked at him and rolled my eyes before swooping down into my seat and closing the door. I rolled the window down. 
"Nice to meet you, it really was." I commented sarcastically, "Move or I'll run you over," I smiled widely, fakely. They both shared a look before stepping back. I instantly drove off. Now let's see if I can race death. I kicked the car into high gear and sped off. 
Dean's POV:
I watched after her car slightly mesmerised by her. She's a firecracker. 
"Don't even try," Sam sighed as he started walking towards the house where the vampire nest was. 
"I wasn't going to," A complete lie.
"She would eat you alive," He commented making me roll my eyes. He's so dramatic.
"What was her name?" I asked following after him. 
"She didn't say," He nonchalantly added as we walked inside to see bodies all over the place, blood and heads everywhere. My eyebrows raised in an impressed expression. "She did this all by herself?" Sammy asked in disbelief. We shared an impressed yet intimidating look.

We pulled into a random bar off of the highway in means of taking a break. I needed to swindle some guys into betting on a pool game for some extra money. As soon as we walked in I felt awkward, everyone in there was huge, intimidating and killed kittens. Sam and I shared a look. We probably should have just turned around and walked out but I led the way over to the bar, acting headstrong as everyone's eyes followed us. We ordered a beer each and sat watching each other's backs. It would be a clear observation to assume they were all in a biker gang. 
Everyone watched us as we waited for our drinks. The bartender didn't move to make them, he just looked at us unimpressed. The only reason everyone stopped staring at us was that the door opened signalling someone was walking in. Everyone's heads swung towards the door where we all saw an attractive girl walk in, I smiled instantly, it was the attractive hunter from a few weeks ago. She killed the entire vampire nest by herself. I couldn't help but smile thankfully. I was happy to see her again since we kind of met I've been so perplexed by her. I want to know everything about her but she is a complete mystery to me. 
She didn't care that everyone was watching her, she didn't even care that she was the only female in here. She ordered a shot of something and a whiskey. The bartender looked around the other bikers and must have been permitted to make her drinks as he started moving around the bar. I shared a confused look with Sam as the bartender still hadn't made our drinks. He placed her drinks in front of her as she sat looking ahead at one spot. She downed the shot with no hesitation and sat sipping her whiskey. I decided not to stare at her, I had a horrible feeling that she would know somehow, even if she didn't know I was there so looked at Sam. "Isn't that the girl from the nest?" He whispered making me nod. I couldn't tell what he was thinking but he appeared to be thinking about something. I looked back over to her when I noticed someone approaching her. I watched in anticipation as I was unsure if I needed to protect her and the guy approaching her. 
"All these seats are reserved for men, if you want to sit in here you'll have to find a lap." He informed, making some of his fellow bar attendees laugh proudly. Out of nowhere she pulled a knife out and stabbed it through his hand, bone and all, which rested upon the bar top. The wooden bar top split where the knife had gone through his hand and bone to impale the top itself. Everyone stood up quickly baring weapons as the guy screamed in pain. Her knuckles were white as she gripped the handle of her blade, her eyes were determined and cold. She began to speak softly, she held the room as if it was simple to her. Everyone seemed to watch in anticipation. 
"Not only are you sexist but you're a fucking pig. Oink for me, piggy," She instructed her tone nothing less of evil. He was too distracted by the pain, he screamed and held his wrist with his other hand, he must have tried freeing it from the blade as it bled a little faster and a little darker. After a few seconds, she started to slowly twist the blade. He screamed in agony before oinking, clearly panicked. No one knew what to do, nothing made a noise except the screaming man. Even the music seemed to be too scared to make a noise. "Tell your friends to put their weapons down," She tilted her head as she looked at him and pursed her lips. She is mesmerising. Although I have no idea why she's hurting him for a sexist comment I could watch her all day. I finally wished I paid attention in school as I wished to memorise every aspect of her I could see. The man nodded hurryingly, everyone seemed to exchange looks before sitting back down. "Good boys. Now, I'm looking for Robert. Hand him over," She looked around and saw no one moving. "No?" She questioned. In an instant, the man she had stabbed was being pushed down so his face was squished against the bar. Her blade softly graced the skin of his face. It happened so fast the guy didn't even have time to scream in pain as she did it. 
She looked evil. I smiled wanting nothing more than to see what she was capable of. "We're going to play a game. For every minute you leave me waiting, a body part is removed..." No one spoke, they all just looked around trying to catch eye contact with someone to figure out what to do. The man screaming showed she wasn't bluffing. She smirked evilly. "Maybe I'll start with the ear and then the penis," Her evil smile seemed to match her features better than an innocent smile, ever could. I presume her lips have never bared an innocent smile. "Does anyone have a magnifying glass?" She asked making me almost laugh. The moment was so serious. If I made a noise I don't think I'd live long enough to finish the laugh. All of a sudden a man stood up. "Ah, Robert. That wasn't so hard was it?" She asked menacingly. She pulled a handgun from her waistband and shot him in the face, I gasped, I felt like I was watching theatre. No one wanted to move. There was a second of silence which seemed to last an eternity. "Have a nice night," She added before saluting with two fingers, downing her whiskey and walking out. That, that right there is a woman! No one dared to look at her as she left. I barely even thought before I got up and followed her. Everyone seemed to gasp and watch with wide eyes, even an entire biker gang was scared of her. I'm an idiot but I knew I had to know more about her.
"Hey," I called after her as she approached her car. She turned around, her gun already pointed at my forehead. She sighed and rolled her eyes as she put the gun down. I smiled knowing she wasn't considering killing me. "You want a drink?" I asked approaching her. She raised an eyebrow at me and chuckled. Seeing her almost smile made me a little proud and determined as I wanted to make her smile just to see what she would look like. 
"No, thanks," She sarcastically spoke as she walked away to her car. I chuckled in response. 
"You'll regret it," I added cockily, she raised an eyebrow at me. She's smarter than me. 
"Sure," She sarcastically added again. She opened her car door and was about to step inside but she hesitated. Over time meeting her till now I thought she was the most confident and determined person I had ever met, but watching her hesitate threw me. Maybe she's not as strong-willed as I thought. She just always seemed to know what she wanted and took it. "Next time we meet by coincidence if I'm not on a job I'll let you take me out for that drink," She added with a slight smile but my mouth was from ear to ear. She smiled at me! She smiled at me. I thought her evil smile suited her but seeing her truly smile made her angelic. 
"See you soon then," I cockily added as she chuckled and shook her head. 
"See you around soldier," She saluted and got in her car before driving off.  I can't wait to get that drink.

Y/N's POV: 
I pulled up to my motel covered in blood. None of which was mine. I pulled a jacket on to cover the stains and threw my bag onto my shoulder as I approached my door. I was unlocking it when I heard the car, I smirked to myself, I knew instantly. Even though it had been a few weeks I still recognised the sound of the engine and its owner. I made it look like I was still unlocking my door even though I had done it a few seconds ago. 
"Hey, hot stuff," I heard Dean calling, instantly, I smiled. I pulled a straight face and turned around to face him. He was out of his car and approaching me. I rolled my eyes at him pretending I wasn't glad to see him. God, he's so hot!  He's the goofy kind of attractive like he could have me laughing and having a great day and then boom, he's serious and has me in the palm of his hand. I sucked my teeth attempting to hide my thoughts of sleeping with him as they, for the one-millionth time, fogged my brain.
"You again, are you following me, Dean?" I asked looking at him questioningly. He was smiling so brightly, it was almost accumulated of the circumference of his face. I almost smiled just seeing it. 
"I should have but I let fate do it for me," He joked making me laugh as he finally reached me. He smiled proudly as if making me laugh was his greatest achievement. Adorable! "Ready for that drink?" He smirked.
"Why do you always smile so big?" I asked genuinely. Ignoring his question. I'm not a very happy person, happiness has always been a perplexing subject to me and yet seeing him makes me happy and I don't understand it. I'm not a fan of not understanding something. 
"What can I say? I can't help but smile when I look at you," He commented, his smile slightly turning to a smirk. I looked over his face before accepting his answer. I nodded as I pretended to consider his offer of going for that drink. I would be in the bar with him already if I had my way.
"Okay, there's a bar about a block away but I have to get changed," I commented, opening the door to my motel room. 
"You look amazing, no need to get changed." He commented with a wink. I almost swooned, falling to the floor at the weak knees he gave me but I stayed strong. I raised an eyebrow at him and opened my jacket to show him all the blood. His face dropped and an 'oh' escaped his lips making me laugh as I turned away. 
I hope I don't regret this!

Summary: A loud noise from a neighbor's place sends Joel into high alert. When all is discovered to be fine, Joel and (Y/n) take the incident as an excuse to enjoy each other's company.
Author's Note: Fun fact: The Last of Us was the first game that I watched an entire playthrough for. It's kinda funny to write for it now.

It started with a loud boom.
Or a gunshot.
In all honesty, in my not-quite-awake state, I couldn't really tell.
The most distinct noise was the sound of my book slamming on the ground.
"Shit," I muttered to myself, picking it up quickly and tossing it on the couch next to me.
There was a loud knock on my door just a few minutes later.
"(Y/n)..."
Joel. Joel Miller.
I would've assumed he was passed out as a result of the pills and booze.
"(Y/n), open the door before I bust in," he continued. "I'm not leaving until I know that you're alright."
I sighed before pushing myself off the couch.
I don't know when Joel and I ended up being... whatever we were. I would say friends but I'm pretty sure Joel would fight that title with every fiber of his being.
But he was always there. When it really mattered, he was there. Like right now.
I pulled the door open. Joel had a gun out, waiting to aim it at something.
"Put that away," I said.
"Are you alright," he asked.
"Yeah," I replied. "Something happened outside, spooked me, and I kind of through my book when I jumped. That's what the noise was. The book hitting the floor."
"You always throw shit when you get scared?"
"When I'm half-asleep, yeah," I nodded.
There was a pause before Joel spoke again, "Well, just wanted to make sure you weren't dead, so... I'll leave you to your book."
"Joel," I called as he walked away. "Wanna come in for a drink?"
He didn't react for a moment.
"Are you gonna look me in the eye and tell me that you're gonna turn down free booze," I asked.
"Keep your fucking voice down about it," he grumbled as he walked back over.
I smirked as I stepped back inside. I closed the door behind me before going to get the only two cups I had and the bottle I had hidden in the back of an armchair.
"Clever," Joel commented.
"I always am," I did a dramatic bow before walking over to the little dining room table that I had. I placed a glass in front of him.
"Y'know, I go through a lot of trouble to get you those books," he commented as I poured our drinks. I placed the bottle closer to the middle of the table. "And here you are, just throwing them around."
"That's why I want the books," I replied sarcastically. "Just so I can throw them."
Joel chuckled.
"And you act like you don't like getting me. I didn't ask you to do that. It's just your character."
"What?"
"To take care of people," I explained.
"I'm out here to protect myself," he tried to correct me. "I think you're latching onto something that's just not there."
"Well, I think you're a big softy," I shrugged. I could feel Joel glaring at me. I looked at him as I put my glass down. "You act all tough and closed off because it helps you. But inside... you're a softy. Protective to almost a fault."
"Think so, huh?"
"You showed up at my door in the middle of the night because of a loud noise. You refused to leave until you knew that I was okay. Not to mention the books that you've been sneaking me. Either you're secretly a softy... or I am just really special."
He scoffed and took another swig of his drink. No response.
I pretended to gasp. "Is it both? That's just flattering, Joel."
Still no response.
I took the pause to study his face a bit. He was a good-looking guy. There was no denying it. I had a small crush on him, but in the world that we lived in, I just ignored it. I pushed it down and continued on like there was nothing going on.
But here... in my apartment, silently sitting together... something was different.
"Joel?" I said quietly.
"What," he asked, looking back at me.
I paused for a moment before leaning forward and pressing my lips to his. I felt one of his hands touch my leg as I did.
It was awkward. Neither one of us really moved. It was only a few moments before I leaned back again. I didn't move very far back. Just enough to properly look him in the eye again.
His hand pulled away from my leg. I almost missed it. Such a small thing that felt so monumental.
I couldn't help but let out a breathy laugh after a moment of just looking at him.
"What," Joel asked.
"Nothing," I shook my head as I leaned back fully. "Just been a while since I kissed anyone. Didn't even realize that I missed it."
"I don't believe that for a second," he replied. I furrowed my eyebrows at him. "You expect me to believe someone that looks like you has gone for all that long without a kiss?"
"Shut up," I smacked his arm, laughing along with him. "For your information... it's been about fifteen years."
This time, his eyebrows furrowed.
The math didn't quite work. What was I doing during the first five years of the end of the world?
"I... I had this phase where I wanted to believe that human connection would save us in the long run," I continued. "Had a guy who convinced me that he believed the same thing."
"He didn't?"
"He believed that getting his dick sucked made him feel better."
Joel's eyes went wide for a moment.
"But nothing beyond that. I was actually lonelier."
There was a long pause between us.
"I fucked that whole thing up, didn't I?" I ran my hands over my face, forcing a laugh out. "Totally shit on the moment by bringing up some past bullshit."
"I don't think so," Joel replied.
I looked at him again. "Mr. 'Keep-Our-Pasts-to-Ourselves' is fine with trudging up my past."
"I said you didn't ruin the moment," he explained. "I still wanna kiss you even though you trudged up the past."
I bit my lip for a moment, feeling my face warm up. I took a deep breath before speaking again, "Then, why don't you?"
"Come here," he turned so his body was actually facing me. I pulled my seat a little closer to him, waiting for him to make the first move.
He held my chin with his thumb and index finger, studying my face for a moment before leaning over and pressing his lips to mine.
This kiss was less awkward than the first one. It was slow, careful, but not awkward. It felt like two people learning each other's habits. Not some rushed moment between two touch-starved neighbors, but a genuinely loving kiss between two people who had been hiding how they felt for God knows how long.
He leaned back for a moment, eyes scanning my face. He was probably looking for any sign that I didn't want the moment to continue.
"Softy," I teased, trying to keep him from questioning himself too much.
A grin pulled at the edge of his lips. "Hush."
I leaned over and kissed him again.
Maybe human connection was more important than I thought it was.

N. A.: Finally, one of my favorite parts of this story is about to begin! As I said before, I've been planning the next scenes for a long time and couldn't wait to share them with you. Honestly, I think there should be more events during the party, but I decided that it would be too much and wouldn't add to the main plot, so I cut out some ideas. Maybe I'll post them as an extra chapter, but for now have this one ;)

If you sat down to write about all the encounters and surprises you had during that memorable night, you’d have to spend the first months of your marriage recollecting and categorizing your memories, for you were presented to many people, some of them known in your homeland at Midgard, others completely new to you. While your husband was mostly congratulated as the gods’ elder brother who finally had time to find love for himself, you were a novelty in each social circle, and everyone wanted a chance to see the newly created goddess from close.
Some of those new acquaintances, like the Solar Gods and their little conflict, had a deeper impact in you, and you had a special place in your heart for them.
One important friendship you began was with a goddess from your own pantheon, Athena. Months ago, Hermes has informed you that she has been absent from Valhalla for quite some time but hasn’t justified this attitude yet, but now she decided to attend the celebration and welcome her new pair.
You were curious when you saw that tall, elegant young woman with sober garments – including a head accessory that resembled a helmet and a necklace with a golden owl on its front – who approached you with no hesitation, and after the presentations you understood the sensation of depth and perspicacity you had when you looked into her brown eyes.
The first words exchanged between you were hers.
– This attentive look in your eyes, that has been watching my moves from far, and this undeniable, but respectful anxiety for our first contact… – she opened an enigmatic smile – It’s an avid reader we have before us, right?
You smiled back.
– You can say that, my Lady.
As always, Hades made the presentations.
– Y/n, this is Athena, goddess of Wisdom and Zeus’ daughter – and with a smile, – She has been willing to meet you since she heard about you.
– And this is not an exaggeration – Athena corroborated – After all the wonderful things my uncle said about you, Y/n, I wouldn’t miss the opportunity to see you with my own eyes.
You ignored the warmth on your cheeks and stared at your husband with an inquiring look.
– Does your uncle always talk this much, Athena-sama?
The goddess covered her mouth with both hands as she laughed at the said uncle’s surprised expression, then joined the game:
– Men are just like this, more than they’re willing to admit. You better get used to it.
Hades let out a loud sigh in an imitation of boredom, but you saw the diversion in his eyes.
– Won’t you show some respect for the old uncle who taught you how to read even in a day like this?
Athena crossed her arms.
– Absolutely not. Specially in a day like this.
There was laughter between you three, then the Goddess of Wisdom led her hands to her neck and took off the necklace from it. You were going to ask of she was about to do, but you didn’t have to: she offered the accessory to you with both hands, and after a second of hesitation, you accepted the gift.
– The life as a goddess and a queen is everything but easy, and there will be moments when you will think you will never succeed – Athena explained – In these moments, let the owl be your companion, and you will regain your courage and your wisdom. This is my blessing to you.
You spent a moment observing the animal’s big eyes, formed by a pair of black jewels, and a feeling of gratitude and comfort invaded your heart.
– I will surely do this – you raised your eyes to the goddess – Thank you for your blessing, Athena-sama.
– It’s good to hear that! – she replied with a satisfied smile – I hope our meetings in the future to be as pleasant as this one, young Y/n.
You nodded.
– Me too.
When Athena said goodbye to you and walked away, Hades helped you to put on the necklace. With all the new, grown hair you would never manage to do it without a mirror, and you said that to him.
– I think my challenges as goddess and queen started sooner than expected!
Hades agreed with a laugh. When he finished adjusting your hair, you turned to him and were going to ask how you looked, but gave up on it once you noticed the peculiar scene happening not so far from you.
Your sister Luna was chatting with a pair of cheerful nymphs you’ve met days ago. You couldn’t hear their voices from your spot, but you were able to observe and understand what was going on with precision: someone appeared suddenly behind Luna and made her startle; she turned to him and, though she didn’t know his identity, she wasn’t less impressed than the nymphs, for the intruder had the form of an attractive young man with fine clothing and green hair, who gave his attentions primarily to her.
You narrowed your eyes to the man, sensing something strange about him, but you only understood what it was when he made a swift gesture with his hand, making a flower appear between his fingers.
In a second, you were fuming.
– I can’t believe that! – you greeted your teeth – Not in my wedding!
Hades frowned, but soon understood everything.
– Well, well, if that’s not our friend Loki…
You were almost running to take your sister way from the Nordic god, but your husband held you in place.
– Hades, please, I…!
– Look – he interrupted you – Someone’s already there for Luna-san.
You looked again and saw the moment when, after your sister accepted the flower from Loki, your mother suddenly appeared behind him and poked his shoulder. He turned to her and, blushing at the serious expression on her face, he moved his hands and created a flower bouquet formed by the same species of the flower he gave to Luna, offering it to your mother. She held the flowers with hesitant hands, staring at them while trying to understand what was going on. Before she could do or say anything, a third person joined the group: your father, and he was as dissatisfied as your mother in the beginning, judging by his frown and his arms crossed over his chest. But Loki had a surprise for him too: smirking, he snapped his fingers and a flower crown became visible on your father’s head, to his confusion and to Luna and your mother’s diversion.
You stared at the group for a moment, then sighed and smiled at your own foolishness. Your family, you understood, would be alright taking care of each other; they’ve been really good at this for all the time you’ve lived with them, and nothing indicated that this would change. You gave up before you took the first step toward them.
However, you wouldn’t have much time to rest from the surprises of that night. You barely looked away from your relatives, you saw a small silhouette passing by you, coming from nowhere, so fast that when you were able to identify her, she was already five meters away: Ellie was running around as if playing a game, and before you could run after her, Helena passed as fast as the baby, calling her name.
– Ellie-chan! Stop running! – and, glancing at you with some embarrassment, – I’m sorry, y/n-san, she just escaped my grip!
You opened your mouth and closed it again as your sister followed the same direction as the baby, who kept running and provoking curious looks and laughter from the observers… until she bumped into someone’s leg and fell on the floor, sitting, and the entire room fell silent. Helena stopped immediately and didn’t approach Ellie’s spot once the person into whom she bumped turned and looked down at the little girl.
You held your breath and murmured to yourself.
– Ah… Poseidon-sama!
The Lord of the Seas, with his cold eyes glued on the child, spent a moment in silence, observing, as if he was trying to guess of kind of living being he had at his feet. Ellie – for your relief – didn’t make tricks, started crying nor did anything that could be considered petulance by someone like him: she just stood there, staring back at him and not understanding the situation she put herself into.
And, to everyone’s surprise, the god’s reaction was simple, and had nothing to do with discontentment or irritation: he bent down and took the baby by her armpits, with a delicacy you guessed that came from his inexperience with human beings: to him, if the adult ones looked so fragile that holding them the wrong way would cause permanent damage, even more their children. Ellie didn’t protest or showed fear: instead, she found it funny to be held like that and smiled at the strange man with ocean eyes.
The said man was clearly not used to have people who showed no fear in his presence, so he kept staring at the girl showing off her little teeth in an innocent smile, intrigued with her behavior… Until the shadow of a smile appeared on his lips as well.
– Are you always this audacious and brave, little person? – he adjusted his grip on her and allowed her to hold his finger.
Your heart calmed down as you looked around, while the faces of the guests softened at the scene. So, everything ended up well… Or so you thought.
You saw the moment when Ellie, with the typical childish curiosity, held Poseidon’s finger with more strength than usual and, before anyone could stop her, led it to her mouth, closing her little teeth around it as she used to do with her favorite treats.
You noticed the god’s eyes widening and a wave of gasps spreading across the room; you covered your mouth with both hands and your husband put his palm over his face.
After the first scare, Poseidon managed to free his finger from your niece and stared at his own skin, left reddish and wet. Again he looked at the girl, who still had that unsuspecting look in her little eyes, and the first thing he said in response would have provoked intense laughter if it was someone else in his place:
– Such a strong bite for a tiny little thing... Almost like a baby shark.

The next minutes of the party followed with no surprises, that is, nothing that resembled the incident involving Ellie and your brother-in-law, with you and Hades receiving congratulations and blessings from people from many pantheons and lands. Though you couldn’t remember all their names, you certainly would remember their kindness and receptiveness. However, not even this was enough to keep you in the room for more than those few hours.
It happened that, as time passed, the sensations that started right after you consumed the ambrosia continued to develop, and you noticed a strange tiredness taking over your limbs and your senses, leading you to a state of hyperstimulation, making the lights, colors, smells and sounds around you unbearable.
After saying goodbye to another group of gods, you turned to Hades and told him you couldn’t stay on your feet for much longer.
– I’m sensing the beginning of a headache, and I don’t think it will be a light one – you whispered to him – It will get worse if I stay here for too long.
He passed his hand on your hair, not disguising his worry.
– It must be another effect of the ambrosia. If this is the case, I’ll take you to our room now.
He closed his mouth when his brothers joined you: Zeus, with his calm demeanor and his hands on his back, Adamas with a goblet in hands and Poseidon, still with Ellie in his arms; now the baby was sleeping with her head on his shoulder.
– If you’re feeling a bit tired, it is, in fact, because of the ambrosia – Zeus, who overheard your conversation, told you – Your body is still mortal, thus sensitive, so that adapting to such changes is hard. You should really take some rest now.
– That’s what I’m intend to do – you replied – Thank you for preoccupation, Zeus-sama.
The chatting was interrupted by Adamas’ laugh.
– It’s always funny to observe these formalities toward my little brother – he approached and messed your hair on a spot away from your crown, – Still haven’t time to tell you that, but welcome to the family, y/n-chan.
You smiled with sympathy.
– Thank you, Adamas-sama.
You turned to Poseidon, who has been silent since the start. The memory of his abrupt encounter with Ellie made your cheeks warm as you observed her snoring on his lap, but you approached him with confidence.
– I apologize for the incident involving my niece, Poseidon-sama – you stretched your arms to her – I will take her back to my family, so she won’t be causing you more distress.
– Of course – he nodded and gave the child to you; she moved a bit when you held her, but didn’t wake up.
Finally, you tuned to your husband and told him you were going to leave Ellie with your parents. He agreed and replied that he would be waiting in the company of his brothers.
That was the last time you spoke with your family that night. You approached your parents and your mother took the initiative of holding the baby. She raised her eyes to your face and frowned.
– You’re certainly as beautiful as ever with your new appearance, my child – she passed her hand on your face – But you seem a bit tired.
– I am – you smiled – I’m leaving the party to take a rest. Zeus-sama explained that it’s one of the effects of the ambrosia, so it’s the best for me now.
– And I agree with him – your father approached, putting his hand on your shoulder. He still had Loki’s crown on his head and was now holding the bouquet.
You opened your arms and hugged them at the same time, involving the baby between you, then walked back to Hades after saying goodbye to them.

Because of the growing tiredness on your legs and the increase of your headache, the way from the room where the party was happening to the private chambers where your honeymoon should start seemed longer than you remembered it. There was a moment when you held your husband’s arm and told him you couldn’t go any farther.
– My body feels heavier at each step – you murmured – I guess I’m going to pass out…
Hades took you in his arms the moment when your feet failed you, stopping you from falling on the corridor.
– Guess the party was too much for you, little one – he whispered to you – Sorry for not taking you away before.
You smiled.
– And awakening the wrath of my new pairs so soon with this rudeness? No, I pass.
You didn’t remember if anything more was said between you or if you really passed out, but you only opened your eyes again when you heard a knob being turned and the door of your room was opened.
Hades crossed the living room, where you spotted candle lights on each corner, and took you to the bed area. Moving the sheets away, he left you on the right side of the bed and went to the balcony’s doors, opening them to let the fresh air and the soft light of outside in. When he came back to you, you were sitting on the bed, trying to take off your shoes.
– Allow me – he sat on your side and, without waiting for a response, put your feet on his lap and started to untie the straps of your shoes.
You sighed.
– The numbness is leaving, but I’m still tired – you passed a hand on your face, not worried about blurry your makeup – And this headache is increasing…
Hades bent down and left your shoes on the floor beside the bed.
– Come here – and, when you took off your feet from his lap and did as he said, – Untying your hair will release you from part of the discomfort.
He took off your crown and hairpin, then started to untangle the strands. You stood in silence as his fingers ran through your scalp, and realized you were feeling asleep; when you noticed, you were already leaning on your husband’s shoulder. He passed his arms around you and kissed your hair.
– I’m going to call Hermes and tell him to send Asclepius to see you – he said.
– The god of Medicine?
– Yes. He has seen cases like yours before, including Psique and Hercules – he explained – He will help you to get through the transformation.
You made a “hmmm” and sighed.
– I think I’m going to take a bath while he doesn’t arrive.
– Do you need help?
You shivered. Of course, you knew that showing yourself unclothed before your husband would become part of your private routine, but you haven’t thought too much about it, so the naturalness with which he asked that sounded sudden, to say the least.
– No… No, thank you.
When you were able to stand again, Hades left to call Hermes and you headed to the bathroom to prepare everything.

Contrary to what you imagined, taking a bath without help in those conditions wasn’t that hard. Your clothes were light and you were already on barefoot, so that the only struggle was to organize all the stuff you’d need. Besides, there was a bathtub large enough for you to stretch your legs and carved at a reasonable distance from to the wall, so you could rest your head on its border and leave all those inches of hair out.
Your right foot touched the warm water and a shiver was sent through your entire body. You passed your arms around yourself, finding the sensation strange: you weren’t that cold, right?
Well, whatever.
You were too tired to deliberate. You entered the water and stood there for the longest time possible.

You were already back on the bedroom, took your new side of the bed, wearing a night gown that didn’t reveal too much under a robe that you wrapped tight around your waist to wait for the doctor – that is, the Lord of all them – to see you. Hades hasn’t still come back when you left the bath and the chambers were too quiet, except for the sound of the evening birds out there and the ruffling grass touched by the wind.
You frowned.
I’m sure that they’re are at a good distance from our place. It’s funny that I’m able to hear them from here.
And even more funny was that you had the impression that those soft sounds were increasing your headache. You pressed your fingers against your temples. Could it be that the ambrosia was causing all of this?
If so, how long must I endure these symptoms? I only hope that Asclepius-sama answers my questions. That would surely make me less anxious.
You were thinking of this when you heard the noise of a door opening and footsteps approaching the room. You straightened up on the bed and, a moment later, Hades entered, accompanied by a young man… whom you already knew.
– Ah! Apollo-sama? – and, frowning, – You’re a bit different from earlier…
In fact, the visitor was like a living shadow of Apollo, but as your eyes got used to his figure, you were able to spot crucial differences: instead of the extravagant garment and golden jewelry, this young man wore nothing but a common, white tunic with a slit on each side, and a pair of leather sandals which straps reached the spot under his jerks; around his waist, a blue stripe of the same fabric, and no accessories were seen, except a satin stripe tying his long hair, which was of a darker shade than Apollo’s, and the same could be said about his eyes. On his right hand, he carried a sort of cane in the form of a column, with a serpent’s body wrapped around it, and over his shoulder there was a large bag, similar to the one of a traveler.
The young man, you also noticed, seemed to have the exact opposite of Apollo’s expansive personality and mannerism.
In the middle of this, Hades laughed when he heard your words.
– It never gets boring – and, turning to the visitor, – But I bet it ceased to be funny for you long ago, right?
The man carried a gentle smile on his face.
– It used to bother me in the past, but now I really don’t care much, Hades-sama – he commented with a low, composed voice – After all, my father is known for his presentable looks. So being mistaken for him is rather a compliment.
That conversation left you even more confused.
– I don’t understand – you alternated your look between your husband and the other man – You are Apollo-sama’s son?
– Yes. I am Asclepius, God of Medicine – the man nodded in respect – It’s been a while since I’ve met a newly formed goddess, so it’s an honor to meet you, y/n from Midgard.

you were taking a break from training and sat on one of the couches in the living room. with your phone in hand, you were scrolling through social media and saw some posts about other e-sports teams appear on your screen; most of them announcing which teams were going to appear at a competition scheduled for next week in tokyo.
"oh my god! y/n! did you hear?" dino frantically exclaimed. you looked over and saw him make a dash towards you from his desk. "look at this!" he instructed while shoving his phone screen into your view.
you grabbed his phone and looked at what he had on his screen: an online article with the title "#1 in south korea, team fts, announces their participation in the summer sundown festival happening in tokyo, japan next week as a last minute entry."
you sighed, "i'm gonna kill him," you immediately said, staring at dino's phone screen in disbelief. you started scrolling through the article, reading the most important parts before sending the article to your phone.
"did he not tell you?" dino asked, sinking into the couch cushion next to you.
"no, he didn't," you sighed again. "you wanna tell joshua, or should i?" you asked dino as you handed his phone back to him.
"if you wanna call jeonghan, i can go tell coach," dino replied. you nodded in agreement.
both of you got up from the couch and walked in separate directions. dino headed to your coach, who was with the rest of your team while you went onto the balcony of the house you lived in. you closed the door behind you and called jeonghan.
once he answered, you heard him immediately chuckle, "i was wondering when you were gonna call me. this was sooner than i expected."
"i just saw the article. dino just showed it to me," you replied, "what happened to the competition here?" you asked him, crossing one arm across your torso.
"the organizers are horrible. we're playing against people in the league below us, so it's clearly rigged," he explained before sighing, "it's kind of a mess though. we'll be training longer cause of the teams in tokyo."
"hey, jeonghan hyung, come on."
"i'll be downstairs in a minute. start talking with the others about the new thing," jeonghan said to the person that just called for him. it sounded like the8, but you weren’t sure.
"who was that?" you asked.
"oh, it was the8,” he confirmed. “hey, call me when you're done. i gotta go," he said to you.
you hummed in response, "i will.”
"love you."
"you wish i loved you."
"hey, don't do this—"
you hung up, laughing at what you did before receiving a text message from jeonghan, who was upset. you texted him back before going inside.
"y/n, is it true?" jun asked you as you closed the door behind you.
you nodded, "yea, just confirmed it with him."
mingyu groaned and sat back in his chair, "you have got to be kidding me."
"tonight, you guys need to go through their battles from the last competition," joshua said to everyone else. "we'll need to start planning tomorrow morning. let's just go through what we have right now."
"sounds good," vernon spoke up, putting his headphones on.
you walked to your seat that was next to dino's before loading the game up on your computer screen.

days later and you were in japan. you spent the first day walking around and exploring since the day after was the day of the gaming festival.
"woah, this place is nice," dino said as you guys were taken to your team's designated waiting room.
as everyone set their things down, you opened a bottle of water and started drinking from it.
"please let a staff member know if you need anything," the staff member who was with you said before leaving the room, closing the door behind them.
"who's playing the first round again?" mingyu asked before vernon handed him his phone. "oh, thanks."
"i'm gonna grab some more waters for us," you said to everyone.
"don't take too long. we need to watch all of the matches," jun said to you.
"i won't. it'll only take a second," you replied and set your own water down. you left the waiting room and went down the hall to find an area with snacks and drinks.
"do you need something?" a staff member asked you when they noticed you.
"just some waters, please," you requested. "can i just get a whole case actually?" you asked.
they nodded, "of course."
another staff member grabbed a case of water and handed it to you.
"thank you," you replied and managed to pick the case up. you started walking back to the waiting room and saw familiar faces being guided to their waiting room.
"y/n!" dk immediately yelled as he noticed you first.
"oh, hi," you greeted as jeonghan approached you.
"need some help?" he asked you.
"no."
"you do? okay," he said and took the case of water from your hands.
"jeonghan, we need to go," s.coups said to him.
"jeonghan, i'm fine," you said and tried to take the case from him.
"i'll be back in a second," jeonghan said to them before walking away from his team.
you sighed and looked at their captain, "sorry."
s.coups laughed, "it's fine. see you later.”
"see you later," you smiled before following jeonghan down the hall. "yoon jeonghan, you're going the wrong way."
you caught up to him as he looked at you, "can we take a detour so i can be with you longer? i haven't gotten to see you in like two weeks."
you rolled your eyes, "no. i have battles to watch, and you have a team to coach," you said to him and started walking in the direction to the waiting room. once you got there, you opened the door for jeonghan, "put it on the table and leave."
"you're so mean to your boyfriend," jeonghan pouted as he did what was instructed. the guys looked at him as he walked in.
"oh, jeonghan. nice to see you," joshua greeted. the two coaches greeted each other with a handshake.
"y/n, isn't there a rule about fraternizing with the enemy at competitions?" mingyu asked you.
"you're just saying that cause he's here," you replied before grabbing jeonghan and pushing him out of the room. "bye."
"wanna get dinner later?" jeonghan asked as he stood in the hallway, holding the door open despite you trying to close it.
"maybe. bye," you said and closed the door on him before locking it.
"you know, jeonghan's right. you are being mean to him," jun said to you.
"can we not? we have a competition to win," you said to your captain and crossed your arms.

"that battle was way too long," vernon complained as you and your team walked back into the waiting room. you had just won against one of the teams from japan.
"seriously," mingyu said and grabbed a bag of chips from the table.
"y/n, is your hand okay?" jun asked you as you grabbed your brace for your wrist from your backpack.
"it's fine. i just tweaked it during the last raid," you said and took your jacket off to cool off. you put the brace on and sat down next to dino on a couch.
"it's already bothering you? will you be okay for the rest of the competition? we have three more battles for sure and two more if we make it all the way to the finals," dino asked in concern.
"i have to be fine. who else are we gonna get to substitute for me?" you replied.
"i mean, there was that time i tried playing as two people."
"dino, you died in an instant."

"and here we have it. the long awaited battle between south korea's fts and south korea's sector:17. both of them are strong teams within the e-sports community. don't you agree, hoshi?" one of the commentators spoke.
"i definitely agree with you on that, seungkwan. both of these teams are powerful within the community. fts is definitely the top team in this community, so it'll be interesting to see how sector:17 overcomes this later today," the other commenter said. "let's look at the stats of both teams and see what could happen in this final battle."
"hoshi knows stuff about the game?" vernon questioned as he sat down with a snack in his hand.
"guess woozi finally taught him some stuff," you replied while massaging your wrist.
"hey, you guys feel good?" joshua asked as he walked into the room. "here's coffee," he said, handing you a cup.
"thanks," you replied, "do you think they're going to use that new strategy today?" you asked.
"probably. they probably want to wear us out with it for the first part," vernon replied.
"hey, vernon, go wake up everyone else. they need to eat before we leave," joshua instructed. vernon nodded and got up while joshua took his spot on the couch next to you. "have you talked to jeonghan?" he asked you.
"not really. didn't want to get in trouble with the league," you replied, "just that date we went on the other night."
"according to s.coups, he's been more irritating," joshua mentioned, "you should see him before the competition starts."
you shrugged, "maybe. i just don't want to get distracted either."
"understandable," joshua replied to you, "but you know how he gets, which means all of them are probably annoyed at him for sulking."
"they'll get over it. they always do," you replied and looked over when you heard someone walk into the room. "good morning, sleeping beauty," you said to mingyu as he headed to the table.
"i'm handsome, thank you," mingyu sarcastically replied as he grabbed a coffee cup off of the table. "thanks, shua."
"no problem," joshua replied. "eat a bit more. don't want to get too hungry later," he said to you before getting up and heading into the hall, "guys! wake up!"

a few hours later, and you're about to leave for the last battle between your team and fts. you took your brace off your wrist and put it back in your backpack.
"you good, y/n?" jun asked you. you nodded and walked over to everyone, who were waiting by the door. "let's go," he said and dino opened the door for everyone.
a staff member guided all of you to the entrance to the stage. you waited until someone instructed you to go on stage.
you walked onto the stage following jun; the others following behind you. fans were cheering everywhere from the audience. you walked to where the computers were set up, seeing the game loaded up on screen. you sat down in your seat and got ready to play.
"okay, let's do this!" mingyu yelled into his microphone.
"hey! not too loud. you're gonna blow my ears out, and then i won't be able to use these headphones anymore," dino whined at your teammate.
you looked over to your side and saw the other team getting ready. wonwoo looked over at you, as if he sensed you looking at him. he looked back at jeonghan, who also looked over at you. he gave you a smile, and you gave him a smile back before looking at the computer screen.
"alright guys," joshua said to all of you, "let's use the new strategy for the first round."
"got it."
"okay."

after two matches, the score was one-to-one. you were in the last match, waiting to get resurrected after dying to one of woozi's attack.
"okay, push through!" jun yelled.
"mingyu, come here," vernon instructed.
mingyu groaned, "shit. i died," he huffed out. "y/n, can you cover him?" he asked you.
"hang on, five more seconds and i'll follow," you said as you watched the screen.
"i got one down!" dino exclaimed.
"okay, i'm back," you announced to your team, "i'm coming to you, vernon. hold off if you can."
"i'm almost out of health," vernon mentioned.
"dino, i'm coming to you. use your shield," jun instructed.
"you got it."
you continued moving and reached vernon, who had barely any health left. you killed a few monsters that were on the screen and then you saw s.coups's character appear on the screen.
"shoot, i don't know where the8 went," vernon mentioned. "mingyu, are you back?" he asked as you started attacking s.coups's character.
"yep, i am. coming towards you," mingyu replied.
"all of them are by us. y/n, come here," jun said and you started moving again. you found jun and dino's characters and started attacking the8 and dk with dino while jun fought woozi.
"need backup?" vernon asked.
"we're fine. stay there," jun immediately replied. "come on...yes! okay, woozi's down."
"the8's down," dino said, "so is dk."
"s.coups and wonwoo are retreating. should we follow?" you asked, looking at the map.
"yea, keep going. mingyu, vernon, push through and get to us," jun instructed.
"we're coming," mingyu said.
you followed jun with dino behind, killing any monsters that appeared on screen. eventually, you reached the base and started attacking s.coups and wonwoo while dino was dealing with the base. a few seconds later, and mingyu joined you and jun. vernon helped dino with the base.
"they're resurrecting in twenty seconds," dino mentioned while attacking the base as quickly as possible.
"come on, come on. use your attack, y/n. our health is fine," jun instructed you. you used your character's special attack, which lowered everyone's health around you. then, you started hitting wonwoo's character and killed him quickly since his health was quite low.
"wonwoo's out," you announced.
"the base is almost down," vernon mentioned.
"we have fourteen seconds until they're back," you said, glancing at the top of the screen. "hurry."
"my health is low. mingyu, help," jun said.
"hang on."
"ten, nine, eight..." you started counting off while attacking s.coups, "seven, six, five, four-"
"we destroyed it!" dino yelled out.
"okay, finish all of them off," jun instructed right as mingyu killed s.coups.
the rest of the characters came back to life and you started attacking dk. eventually, wonwoo's character came back as well and your team killed off all of them.
"yes!"
the crowd had been cheering the whole time but you didn’t notice how loud they were until your team won. you got up from your chair and hugged dino, who was the closest to you before hugging everyone else.
you and your team started doing your victory ritual of jumping in a circle and singing a song. joshua joined in after being backstage since the beginning of the match.
after celebrating, your team went to the center of the stage where the other team was.
"you guys did good," s.coups said to jun.
"not bad yourself," jun replied.
"hey, wonwoo, let's play together some time," mingyu said to wonwoo.
"oh sure. that'd be great," wonwoo said to mingyu.
"y/n! you did great!" dk said to you.
"yea, seriously. during the second round? that was crazy," woozi said to you.
"i'm glad we won that round. i was scared there for a bit," you said to them with a laugh.
then, you were pulled away by someone and turned to see jeonghan.
"good job." you felt him kiss your forehead.
"you're just saying that to be nice to me," you said to him while wrapping your arms around him.
"i am nice, unlike you," he said as he put his arms around you, "and don't forget, we won the last competition."
you rolled your eyes, "you're annoying, you know that?"
"i know i am,” he admitted. “congratulations," he said to you before kissing your lips.
confetti continued to fall, the crowd kept cheering, and you felt like the best in the world.

“So are you and Y/N good?” 
Urban furrows his eyebrows, “Yeah, more than good. Why do you ask?” 
Nickie shrugs “Her new song that’s all.” 
Urban was currently in the studio with Jack, Nickie and Clay. 
“What about it? I haven’t heard it but she did tell me she was going to be releasing a few songs during the week.”
“Maybe it was during your break but her song title and what it says had me questioning if you two were good.” 
Urban sighs “So are you going to tell me what it says?” 
“She’s trending on Twitter, wait you are too.” Clay says.
Urban then decides to check Twitter himself and it leaves him even more confused. 
He saw people saying all different kinds of stuff.
Mainly “Is Urban okay?” 
Or “Was this with Maluma.” 
And the last one was, “Not Y/N dancing with her ex when she has a whole husband and kid.” 
“What the actual fuck?!!” Urban says. 
“So what does the song say?” Clay asks 
“Just that she danced with her ex and basically she felt some type of way and all the feelings came back up again.” Nickie answers.
“Dude I’m sure it’s just a song, she probably doesn’t mean anything by it.” Jack tries to reassure his best friend. 
Urban tries calling his wife but it goes straight to voicemail. 
“She’s not answering me.” 
“Urb, relax before you do or say something you’ll regret later. Let her explain before jumping into conclusions. She married you, you two have a beautiful daughter, if she felt some other way she wouldn’t have settled with your ass.” Jack says meanwhile texting his wife and letting her know what’s going on so she can warn Y/N. 
“Your wife puts out a song talking about her ex, you’ll be cool with that?” 
Jack shrugs “No but to be fair she’s only had one ex and he was a dick so I know she would never.” 
Urban scratches at his beard “I need to smoke and think about this bullshit.”
He stands up. “This was probably when she went to Miami and people on her comments said she danced with that fucker.” 
“Talk to her first Urb, without coming at her neck.” 
“Yeah whatever, I’m out.” He says and walks out the studio and into his car, driving home.

“Bitch, why did my husband text me asking if you’re cheating on Urban.?” Your best friend asked you on FaceTime. 
“Huh? Why would he ask that?” 
“Jack said something about a song and that  you are trending on Twitter.” 
“Shit.” You say.
“Shit? What shit? Y/N que hiciste?.”
You were about to answer her when you heard the front door being slammed. 
“Jess, I'll call you later. He just got here.” 
She’s nodding “Suerte.” 
“Y/N?” Your husband is yelling.
You look down to the baby camera to see your daughter still taking her nap. “Don’t be too loud, Cassie just went down for her nap.” You say walking into the living room. 
“What’s with the song? And what people are saying on Twitter?” 
“It’s just a song babe, I can’t control what people say online.” You shrug. 
He chuckles. “So you just wrote that song, recorded and put it out for shits and giggles? No meaning at all.?” 
“I mean no but It’s not what you’re thinking.” 
He rolls his eyes at that. “When you went to Miami a few weeks ago, did you dance with your ex?.” 
“What? What does that have to do with anything? I told you about what happened. I thought you were over that situation.” 
“Did you or did you not write a song about dancing with your ex.?” 
“Yes but-“ 
“No fuck that.” He says and starts walking towards your shared bedroom. 
“Urb, Urban let me explain.” You say, following after him.
“Explain what? We’re married, we have a daughter together. Why would you make a song about feeling your ex? What kind of shit is that?” 
He’s sitting down on your bed glaring at you. You can’t help but smile and look at him. “Oh so this is funny to you? Cool.” 
You go up to him and straddle his lap. “Hey.” He tries to push you off. “Baby, look at me.” 
“What? I can’t believe you right now. I thought we were finally in a good place and you go and do that. It’s out there, people are sending me shit saying how you played me.” 
You grab at his chin and make him look at you. “Do you remember when the whole video with Stassie came out? And how I ended things with you?” 
He rolls his eyes, “How can I forget?” 
You nod, “Do you remember how I was with some guy just spending time and making you jealous?” 
“Y/N I don’t want to talk about that right now.” He tries to stand up but you hold your place and hold him down on the bed.
“You and I, we met up and we drank, we spent the whole night together. We danced, you were technically my ex boyfriend. The song is somewhat about you.” 
“What?” 
You nod smiling, “It won’t make sense to anyone but it makes sense to me. We were broken up and I was missing you and the night we decided to meet up was when all those feelings came back and I knew I couldn’t stay away, even though I tried really hard.” 
“So the song is not about some other guy?.” 
You shake your head. “No, I promise. Babe, we’re better than we’ve been in years, you really think I’d ruin that? Ruin our family? No, you’re stuck with me.” 
“Please, next time just  give me heads up when you’re about to release a song that can cause shit to hit the fan.” 
“Wait, who translated the song to you? Or was it just Twitter and Instagram that filled your head up with these scenarios?” 
“Nickie did.” 
You roll your eyes, “I’m about to beat his ass for that. But I promise you, it’s not towards anyone else and it doesn’t have a deeper meaning to it.” 
He nods “I was worried and hurt when I saw what people were saying online.” 
“Understandable, I’m sorry you had to see that. I was going to tell you about it but you were out late last night and then you left early this morning.” 
“So any other songs I need to know about?.”
“Well…..” 
“Y/N!!” 
You laugh, “I’m kidding, totally kidding.” 
You both just sit there, wrapped in each other's arms until you hear movement come from the baby monitor. 
“Princess is waking up.” Your husband says. “Let me go get her.” 
You get off from him so he can go get your daughter. 
You grab your phone and FaceTime your best friend.
“Is he alive?” You hear Jack ask. 
“JACKMAN!” 
“What? I’ve been calling him like crazy. I need to know if your best friend killed my best friend. Wait no, I don’t want to know because then I’ll be an accomplice.” 
“Do you really think Y/N will kill her husband? The father of her baby?” 
“YES SHE’S CRAZY LIKE THAT.” 
You laugh, “He’s well and alive dramatic ass.” 
At that your husband and daughter walk into the room. 
“Says you, I don’t see him. URB BLINK TWICE IF YOU NEED SAVING.” 
“Bubs. How would you know if he blinked if he’s not on camera?” Jess asks him.
You shake your head “Look at him, he’s fine.” You then turn the camera towards Urban and Cassie. 
“THANK FUCK YOU’RE ALIVE.” Jack says. 
Urban is rolling his eyes, “Bro you’re so dramatic.”
“Oh okay, you were about ready to punch the wall at the studio earlier.” Jack tells him. 
“Well we’re happy everything is okay between you two. Forgive Jack and his dramatic tendencies, poor baby has been on timeout.” Jess says. 
“Give him the kitty already Jessica, he needs to release  all that tension.” You say. 
“Bitch I’m sore, he needs to let me heal.” 
“Okay and that’s us hanging up. Bye, see you tomorrow for dinner.” Urban says and hangs up the phone. 
You smile and look at him carrying your daughter.
“What?” He asks. 
You shake your head. “I could never ruin this, our family.” 
He smiles and bends down to peck your lips. “I love you my crazy wife.” 
“I love you.”

Monthly special: Variable Barricade crossover!
I honestly didn't expect this to go so big so fast! Although this chapter can feel a little like a filler and that I left out quite a lot. This is just so I don't accidentally spoil the routes. Since we do have some time before we get to them hah...But I think I will make the second run (the one with the boys) for a different game! But we’ll see about that.

After finding out who your suitors really are you've decided to interview them. It was to find out what their intentions and opinions were… and of course you were going to ask them about those little titles they had displayed on their background checks.
In the end you were not ready for their responses no matter how hard you prepared.
Part one: chapter 2- This is just like a job interview!
"I see… so this is what that was all about…" you just explained everything to Ayaka and she listened carefully. But somehow she didn't seem all that concerned "I'm happy for you Y/N" her gentle smile made you frown
"Happy? Did you hit your head Ayaka? I'm not happy with this situation" you weren't sure if she understood your situation, but it definitely surprised you to see her being happy over your misery. 
"But isn't it good? If anything it's a step in the right direction. Now you won't have to worry about not being able to marry out of love. You said it yourself that your grandfather allowed you to still seek on your own, right?" she was right, but there was a little problem. 
"It's true but I won't have enough hours in the day to look for someone!" and not like you'd even know where to begin. 
"I suppose you're right… then why not look among your suitors?" she was really curious as to why you'd do anything just to ignore the suitors. To you the answer is obvious. 
"Didn't you listen to me? They're unemployed and they sure are here just for the money" the timing probably couldn't get any better for them. You don't even know how or when your grandfather got acquainted with these women, but you have a feeling that they were glad to not have to worry about any money should they win you over. 
"I think we both know that's not possible. Your grandfather wouldn't let someone like that near you" her words made you frown, you didn't think about it in that sense. As you cursed under your breath Ayaka continued "If you're so uncertain about them, maybe talk to them individually and judge their characters yourself" now that you think about it, the only time you spoke to any of them alone was when Yelan greeted you by the door, but you're not sure if it counts given that you basically didn't respond to anything she said. Alas, your best friend's suggestion gave you an idea "You're right! I should interview them!" your eyes sparked as you knew it was a good plan. 
"I'm pretty sure that's not what I said-" she tries to change your train of thought but you already made up your mind. 
"I mean, joining the L/N family is like accepting a job and every job offer needs a proper interview" you ignored her concerns as you feel proud of your new approach. 
"Y/N, can't you be a little bit more casual about this?" she desperately tries to convince you. But you had your mind set. And when you know what you want you're as stubborn as you can possibly get. 
"How could I be? If I'm going to do it, I'm doing it on my own terms" you say as perhaps such an interview would make them nervous and perhaps their masks would fall. That would buy you more time unless your grandfather really does have a queue of women waiting for their chance with you… 
"I'm happy that you're confident about it… but something tells me that it's not going to end well" she continued with her concerned tone. 
"I'll be sure to let you know if you were right or not. For now I'll prepare the questions and let Thoma know my plans" you immediately took out your phone and texted:
Y/N: Thoma, I need you to let everyone know that I want to host an interview with each and one of them. 
You didn't need to wait long for his reply but you didn't feel impatient. After all this was the first time you got to have control over the situation. 
Thoma: Sure, do you need me to pass anything else to them? 
Y/N: I want them all in formal wear. Everything else I'll explain to them myself.
"Formal wear?" Ayaka peeked as you were typing. 
"I want to see if they're willing to take it seriously" you said as your mood got better. You finally were the one in charge!

You were a little nervous but once you arrived back home you felt a sudden rush of confidence. You opened the door to the main room and all of the women were dressed formally just like you asked. They didn't notice you right away so you got to hear their following conversation. 
"She should be home anytime soon right?" Eula said with impatient tone "I hate not knowing what's going to happen next" 
"Well, Thoma said it's an interview. So that's what we should expect" Yelan said casually. She said before that she's planning on not letting you know everything about her right away so you wonder what kind of tactics she may have here. 
"I know that, I was just thinking what kinds of questions she'd ask" with each word Eula sounded more and more irritated. 
"Isn't it obvious? She probably saw our background checks and is curious as to how are we so bold as to ask for the heir's hand while we don't have anything to offer. Business wise choosing any of us is setting herself up with a gamble. Since I doubt any of us have the experience" Ningguang pointed out, she wasn't exactly wrong but she wasn't fully right either. 
"In some occasions marriages are set up purely for either decorational matters" Eula argued "So we don't know what Y/ N really wants from us" she said it like you'd be the one using them if you get married. How laughable. 
"*giggles* This might be interesting indeed. What do you think?" Miko turned to you as she was quiet this entire time. Perhaps she knew all along that you're here or maybe she noticed it a bit later. Either way she was the only one who was aware of your presence, considering how the rest looked surprised to see you. Taking a deep breath you look at them and say:
"Ladies, as you know I'll be hosting an interview for each and one of you. Thoma will call for you individually, so for now I'm asking that all of you stay here and I'll get everything prepared in the dining room" you feel proud of yourself but your face is fully professional, not letting any of your excitement show.

When you were alone in the room you looked at the background checks again. This time however you weren't filled with despair like last time "Who should I call first…?" you wonder for a moment and look at Thoma "Could you bring Miko first? Also I'd like you to not be in the room during the interview" 
"Alright" he nods and leaves the room. 
After a moment Miko enters and she looked quite amused "I see you're finally taking initiative" she sits in front of you "I was wondering when I'll get to see that side of you" she looked at you intrigued "Go on, ask me those questions" she waved her hand at you, suggesting that you may start right away. Her casual approach to the entire thing made you lower your guard slightly, but you weren't going to let her do whatever she pleases. 
"Alright, first question. What prompted you to apply for the chance to marry into the L/N family?" you had your suspicions, especially given her work life so far. So you had to look for hints of her lying if she tried to fool you with having feelings for you or just thinking she's your best bet. 
"Who said anything about your family? I'm interested in you. So when that old man offered me your hand I felt like it'd be worthwhile" she answered with confidence "But for now I didn't get the chance to tease you enough, what a shame" she sighed. 
You decided not to comment on that. You made a mental note to now always be on guard so her attempts of teasing can only end in failure. She's so cocky you decided to not let her have the satisfaction. 
"May I ask how did you get to meet my grandfather? Considering how you're referring to him, you probably know each other for quite some time, right?" although you could see a bold person like Miko call him "old man" right away. 
"You could say that. Our first meeting was a bit spontaneous, but that's something he should tell you about. I honestly don't know what the guy was thinking, so I'm afraid that should I introduce the situation to you you might not understand the full story before you judge the situation" she explained, well at least that was an attempt at an explanation since it made you ask more questions than have yours answered. But considering her response, asking any would be useless. 
"Right… onto the next question. What benefits can you bring to this family that other suitors can't provide?" you realize that they don't know each other, but you need this answer from everyone. 
"Unlike others? Well I suppose to you it matters so I'll give you my answer: I can give you a taste of freedom in a way nobody else can" her voice was almost inviting. But you didn’t let your guard down. 
"And what do you mean by that?" you raised your brow. Trying to not sound too interested by her offer. 
"Oh but it would be absolutely dull and boring if I told you the answer rather than letting you experience it, no?" and with that the magic of her previous statement is gone as you have enough common sense to say:
"You do have a point, but how do I know that you aren't just making things up as you go?" you know better than to believe sweet nothings being whispered into your ears. 
"As our relationship progresses you'll see it for yourself dear. Although you might not notice it right away" she was insistent, but at the same time she did sound like she was having fun trying to figure you out. 
"Well it would be in your interest to see to it that I notice it soon enough. No matter, time for another question. You probably have seen it coming but I'd like to ask you about your past as a uhm… kept woman" it was a tough question for you to ask. Since the job did have some implications… 
"There's not much to talk about, whenever a person needed me and I was sure that they could afford me I accepted" she crossed her arms "As to what I did for them… I think the most suitable term would be inspiring them" she did seem like she wouldn't let just anyone have them but her phrasing was interesting. 
"Inspiring?" you wanted her to elaborate. 
"I usually work for writers. My guidance was a start for many big novelists. If you don't believe me, some of them insisted on dedicating their novels to me" she said the last part with an unimpressed tone. 
"I'll be sure to check it later then. May I get some names?" this was your chance to catch her bluffing. 
"But of course, I recently gave my aid to Souka. She isn't as popular but she does have the potential. I also helped anonymous writers like Zhenyu to gain popularity. There is also Junkichi, his first works are incredibly boring to read but currently he's gaining popularity with each novel. But those are only from the top of my head, I can provide you with a full list later" she wasn't nervous in the slightest, so probably that was one way for you to tell that she's telling the truth. But you decided to play it safe. 
"I'll take you up on that offer" you prepare yourself mentally before you say "Now it's your turn. Do you have any questions for me?" considering what you know of her so far you expect an attempt at teasing. But what she said wasn't like it in the slightest. 
"Ah I was wondering when you'll let me take the lead. I have but one question: why do you think this is happening?" you didn't know how to answer that. 
"If I had to guess, that'd be due to my extended family's impatience" you had nothing else to say on the matter. That's what you were told after all, so what else could be a reason? 
"Hm… I see" she hums with satisfaction, she stands up and says "Good luck with the rest" she didn't wait for you to allow her to leave. 
After she left Thoma entered and waited for your orders. 
"Thoma, call Ningguang next please" 
With a nod he went to fetch her. She entered professionally, she was probably used to interviews. With a polite smile she greeted you, she stood waiting for your gesture that she may take a seat. 
"Let's get right into it okay?" you tell her, after all you don't need to waste time on introductions and it looked like that was what she expected "My first question is: What prompted you to apply for the chance to marry into the L/N family?" you had been interested in what she had to say. 
"Although I have put a lot of thought into it, I suppose you can call it my chance for many things. I've realized that I lost a lot of time in my private life so perhaps a sudden marriage like that was what I needed. Not only that I also do believe that I can be of use business-wise" you didn't expect an answer like that so you tilted your head. 
"And how would that be? I haven't seen on your file any prior experience" maybe when investigating they missed it? Or perhaps she forgot to mention it if she had an interview earlier? 
"Well, I can't really answer that in a way that I could prove. Let's just say that I have the temper and personality for it" oh. So it was just some baseless blabbering. 
"What are those personality traits exactly?" you wondered if she actually would give a proper answer here. 
"To put it simply and name just a few, I know what's valuable and worth the hassle, I know how to plan ahead and I'm not giving up easily" she looked at you with a proud smile. 
"The note that I got to read would suggest otherwise. Could you explain to me why you're currently unemployed. Or rather why is it that you can't keep a job?" honesty you didn't read the reason as to why she was fired, you waned to hear her explanation and only then check if it's the truth, otherwise you might lash out on her for lying a bit too soon. You could see that the question hit her pride, but she took only a second to recover. 
"The circumstances were different for each occasion. For most however, my former bosses couldn't appreciate how aspiring and confident I was. I couldn't just let them do as they pleased even if they were my superiors" she looked away for a moment "Pardon me my first reaction, just mere memories of getting fired do tend to make me a little angered is all" she closed her eyes and her polite smile was back on display. 
"Surely being married to me isn't something you can just get fired from right away without any say in it. So how can I tell that you're not going to use this opportunity to just make yourself feel better about your failures?" your words hit like daggers, but you did whatever you could to protect your heart. Even if it did make you sound inconsiderate and rude. Surprisingly she took your question well. Perhaps the previous impact made things easier for her to adjust. 
"I understand why you'd think that, and as much as I hate to admit I don't really have a way to disprove it. If you're willing to take my word for it then I'm going to tell you only this: while I do think that this is a huge opportunity for me, I don't plan to do it purely for a headstart. If I want to achieve something I only wish to do it on my own. Whether or not you'll choose to support me even if we get married will be up to you" she said with determination. 
"Don't you think that it'd be my duty as your wife to help you?" you didn't like how aggressive you were getting but it was all to catch her lying. 
"It'd be your duty to support me emotionally yes, but financial needs are something I'd have to handle on my own" she sounded genuine, but you had no idea if it wasn't an act. 
"So that's how you'd view it?" granted you don't know if she's bluffing here. She could just be saying it to later guilt you regardless. But considering your earlier comment you felt a bit bad due to your choice of words. 
"Yes, is there a problem with it? If so, do let me know. I don't want to waste time on someone who doesn't believe one's lover should be supportive emotionally" she crossed her arms. You almost felt like she shamed you for not believing in her words. But she was only a stranger to you. The atmosphere got a little tense, but you still had to give her the opportunity to voice her concerns. 
"I hold the same opinion on the matter, you have nothing to worry about. But if you have any further questions now it's your time to ask" you hoped you managed to hide your nervousness well. 
"I'm afraid most of my questions are rather personal, so I'll keep them for a bit more suitable occasion" you weren't sure if she really decided to give up on her questions given the atmosphere, but regardless you were happy that you aren't going to answer anything for now. 
"In that case that's it for the interview" you told her and she left "Thank you for your time" 
"Alright, next up is Yelan" you announced and waited for Thoma to call her. She walked in and as always you could feel mystery filling the room. When she sat down you asked "Are you ready for your first question?" you figured she was but you thought you'd ask anyways. 
"I'm ready" she sounded prepared. 
"What prompted you to apply for the chance to marry into the L/N family?" having asked this over and over again you said it like you were practicing it. But you're up to another round soon. 
"I guess it was just a decision I made without thinking too much about it" she fidgets with the dice on her necklace "I honestly just rolled the dice for it and decided to accept the offer" she shrugged. 
"How could you let such decision be influenced by something like that!?" it was unthinkable to you. She has the privilege to make her own choices and she doesn't even care enough to let them be her own!? 
"I've made it into a habit over the years. I usually just roll the dice when I can't decide on something. I just don't want to waste any time thinking about possible 'what if's" she explained, but you still couldn't get it. 
"So, you couldn't decide on this topic? Why was that?" instead of questioning further the dice thing you decided to tackle something that made you curious. 
"I didn't know you, so that's why I was hesitant. The only thing I knew about you were coming from either Thoma or your family. So not really too reliable source of information if you ask me. That was my reason for refusing" she pointed out "I prefer meeting people on my own, and I was a little curious about you. That was the 'yes' vote" she added. 
"But to jump into marriage right away?" you couldn't grasp how she could take it all so lightly. 
"It's true that it's skipping a lot of steps. But I have some more reasons for it. It's a bit tough to explain… but sooner or later I may find my words and share it with you" she dodged the question. 
"Right, in that case I don't see any reason to question it further. Let's move onto the next question. I wanted to ask about your 'gambler' title you had displayed on your background check" you really didn't know how to ask her about that so you just said how this information came to you. 
"What would you like to know?" her question caught you off guard. Usually people would try to change the topic or at least deny it. 
"I'd like to know whatever you're willing to tell me" you didn't even know what questions you could ask in the first place… 
"I'm not going to lie to you and pretend that I don't gamble, but I don't do it that often… at the same time it did influence my habits" she probably referenced her usage of the dice "But I don't think it'll cause any problems" 
"A lot of people with an addiction say that they 'don't really play often' or 'can stop whenever they want to' how can I be sure you're not just lying to me?" you're aware of how many times you've asked someone to prove themselves to you recently… but you couldn't afford to not be 100% sure. 
"Well, Thoma keeps track of our behavior so rumors don't start going around about what kind of people the L/N family considers worthy spouses for their heir. So if you trust him to fulfill his duties properly then you should trust me when I say that I don't gamble often enough for it to be an issue" she explains. Although you didn't trust her yet you did trust Thoma. So for now you decided to accept her version. 
"Is it okay for me to ask what made you gamble in the first place? Or at least what do you find so appealing in it?" you were quite curious on how she views it. You never had a chance to think about games in that competitive way. 
"At this point I don't really remember what started it. As for why I continue, it's due to the excitement a good game gives. I honestly don't care much about the rewards, just the challenge itself" her voice was as sincere as it could get. But you still had your doubts on her indifference towards money. 
"I think I understand what you mean" besides the last part you do see the appeal in a good challenge "Okay, now for the last part of the interview… Do you have any questions for me?" 
"I've been wondering, what do you think of this entire situation?" she sounded curious, but you both knew what you're going to say. 
"I'm highly displeased by it. But I'm willing to try and make it work" although you didn't fully mean it. You had to try and make it work. There was no other way. 
"Hm… I see… well in that case that's everything from me" she nodded as she stood up to leave. 
"Wait before you go, I actually wanted to tell you something… outside of the interview" you built up the courage to speak during the interview, although you were quite hostile your voice was softer now. 
"What is it?" she didn't sit back down. 
"I wanted to thank you, for giving me the space I need" you refer to the time where it was your first day in the house. How she could take a hint when you were getting uncomfortable. 
"Don't mention it" she smiled at you before leaving. 
"So now… it's time for Eula" you sighed. The interviews were making you tired even though the last one didn't end on a hostile note… with her however you could bet on it given her previous behavior towards you. 
She looked a little impatient. Perhaps she felt insulted that she was the last one to go. As she sat down she glared at you, waiting for you to speak. 
"Are you ready for me to begin?" you ask politely. 
She clears her throat and her face expression switches from an annoyed face to a calm and practiced one "Naturally" 
Her sudden shift did get you off guard "Okay then, my opening question is: What prompted you to apply for the chance to marry into the L/N family?" you liked how professional she got about it so it did allow you to be a bit more 'natural'. 
"As you're probably aware, I've been disowned by the Lawrence family, who is your competitor. I understand it might not make you trust me right away, but my place here isn't by any means a part of that situation. I'm here simply because I chose to" it wasn't the most detailed response you've heard… 
"And could you elaborate as to how you came to that choice?" 
"Yes, I'll get right to it. To not waste any time, I had known your grandfather for quite a while by now. When he suggested that I come here I was surprised, but even though he has a… specific personality I trust his judgment" she closed her eyes "But tell him a word about it and I won't let it slide" she switched back into her hostile personality. 
"In that case it seems like our relationship with him isn't that different" you looked away. You started wondering how often he met up with her. You didn't really see him often, so hearing that he spent his time with some other kids did make you envious. 
"From your reactions I suppose you're right. We do have that in common" she sighed with exhaustion. 
At first you wanted her to tell you more about how she met your grandfather… but in the end you decided that it was something to be discussed later "That's at least one thing. But back to your family, will you tell me why you were disowned?" you understood that it might be a difficult topic to her but since you let one thing slide you can't afford to let this question go unanswered. 
"To put it simply, my family didn't appreciate me having a personality of my own. Their fake confidence is foolish and their pride is what makes their company sink only lower and lower… so in a way, you could say that it's good that I'm no longer associated with them…" she looks like she wanted to add something there but her silence made you aware that she had changed her mind. 
"I find it a little hard to believe that they'd discard you like that…" although she doesn't sound like she gets along with her family you still felt bad for her. 
"I was warned. But I couldn't stand by when I knew my uncle was doing something illegal, so I reported it" she said, which made you a little confused. 
She was involved with getting her uncle arrested? The legality of some of the Lawrence family's dealings was always something people were weary of. But there was only one time they actually got caught. You didn't read about her involvement in it so you were surprised to hear that version of the story. 
"Didn't you just say that the reason you were disowned was due to your personality?" why wouldn't she tell you about this specific event right away? 
"Isn't that connected? My understanding of justice and the choices I made were what my family didn't appreciate at that moment. So that's why that was my first answer before I elaborated" she was as blunt as she could get. 
"I see, I understand but next time I'll appreciate it more if you could answer fully right away" 
"Sure, I'll be sure you'll get the response you expect in the future" she sounded a little annoyed which got to you too.
"Is there a problem with that? I just don't see the point of us dragging it for longer than we have to" you try to stay professional but your mouth couldn't stop itself from pouting.
"Then we should move on, we exhausted the topic of my family" yet again it was a swing of emotions with that woman. In one second you're getting along, in the next you have the urge to snap at her. 
"Okay. The last part of the interview is your chance to ask me any questions" you're curious if she even would ask anything at this point. 
"Oh, in that case there is something I'd like to know. Are you taking this seriously or are you just playing us all?" you understood why she'd want to know if she's wasting time but it wasn't something in your control! 
"Does this interview give off the impression that I'm not taking it seriously?" really, why would you organize such a thing if you weren't willing to try. 
"That's not what I mean. I know that you've been here for a very short time but you've done nothing but avoid us" you were in the same house as them for less than two days. Just what did she expect? 
"I needed a moment to adjust. I can assure you that I'm not 'playing' anyone right now. So is that all?" you were honestly offended that she tried to make you the villain here. 
"Yes, I'll take my leave now" with that the interviews were complete and you felt like it was just the start of the obstacle course. 
You sighed with exhaustion as you looked at the reports again "Was it really that bad?" you look up and see Thoma. 
"It was… difficult" you admit. You probably have ended up with more tension between some of the suitors than you'd like to admit "But it did give me a good opportunity to learn something" most of the responses were vague, yet it did give you an idea as to who you'll be working with "Regardless, I'm going to head back to my room. I'll eat later" you say before he gets the chance to ask about it. 
The moment you head upstairs though you were stopped by the girls. Confused, you wanted to ask what they wanted, but you didn't get to ask before Ningguang spoke up "We've talked about it and decided that tomorrow we'll have a small house party. Make sure you don't make any plans" 
"What" is all you could say. 
"Well you had your share of fun now. It's our turn to take the lead now, no?" Miko asked 
The entire time Eula glanced at you. Probably it had to do with her suspicion that you were avoiding them… which both was and wasn't the case. 
"So, what do you prefer? The garden looks pretty nice so we were thinking of either a picnic or a barbecue" Yelan asked. 
"A picnic would be nice" you just thought about what will be shorter. Because setting up the grill and other preparations alike will drag it out for longer than you'd like it. 
"Alright then it's settled, leave everything to us" Ningguang looked satisfied, perhaps the picnic was her idea. 
"Wait, everything? I can help out" you argued. 
"Now there dear, you've had enough stress recently. We couldn't possibly give you more responsibilities to take care of" although what she sounds may suggest concern, her tone was a little sinister "Thoma on the other hand will take part in it" she ordered. 
"Right!" knowing him, he'd offer his help regardless. 
"Okay then everything's settled, sorry for it being so sudden" Ningguang stopped blocking your way. You took your opportunity to leave but you could hear them discuss who'll take care of what. 
You aren't entirely sure if you're looking forward to it… or the complete opposite.

They were bestfriends, they have been since they were little. In this small world, they found peace and joy in each other, one could tell all her secrets yet the other couldn't.
They say desperation can make anyone do anything, but it wasn't that in her case, her most beloved friend was seen as the worlds enemy, yet she didn't even know. Titling each and every mishap and accident as 'bad luck'...
But was it really?
[Last name] [First name] is a special woman, she befriended someone very powerful, though she was oblivious. Unmindful of who exactly her dear bestie was.
The woman sat with crossed legs, leaning on the edge of the round table with coffee in hand as she listened to her best friends rambling, about her Au and ocs. [E/c] eyes holding a fond glint as she watched Yani do random motions with her hands, a big grin on her face as she spewed information about the creator of her Au.
The short haired redhead took a small breath in, taking hold of her strawberry drink and lifting it to her lips. Yani was.. Peculiar for a lack of a better term, she introduced herself with nothing but an alias. [Name] never asked as she trusted that one day, eventually, her dear friend would tell her her real name. The [H/c] hair colored lady was swiftly dragged out of her stupor as slender fingers snapped in front of her eyes, the white and gold painted nails that was burned in her memory taking captive of her attention. When the hand was pulled away, the view of her friend came back. Yani was always beautiful, soft and smooth white skin, plump pink lips, round emerald vibrant eyes paired with light freckles that scattered across her nose and cheeks. Yani was a big eater, yet she was always slim, busty and curvy. [Name] didn't like to admit that she felt jealousy clawing at her heart, Yani was the kind of woman any man would die for.
No matter, Yani was a good person, she was always generous and forgiving, only with her the kind of woman that would charm anyone with honesty. "You okay [N/n]? You look dazed.. " the red head worried, eyebrows furrowed as a frown tugged down her lips. [Name] in turn, smiled, feeling awed at her friends behavior. With a smile, [Name] answered, "I'm fine Yani, continue what you were saying please".
The green-eyed woman slightly hesitated before a hefty sigh left her, a small smile coming back to her lips as she begun once more. "So basically, M.O.A has a connection to each of her children, if she is hurt or pained in some way, her kids or rather the Deities would also feel it and vice versa."
[Name] let out a sound of intrigue, brows raising as her eyes widened a tiny bit. Yani was a creative woman, able of coming up with ideas and new information about her Au at the drop of a hat. "What about her oldest son? You haven't told me about him yet" the [H/c]nette questioned, Yani beamed as she ranted about the character.
"Xeyhtan is the God of delusion and insanity, he controls the mentality of anyone. Able to break minds in seconds and delude anything free of sense. His ability allows him to peek into minds and thoughts, also abling him of tapping into the body's systems. Ironically, Xeyhtan is a very composed man, very professional and stoic when it comes to his duties and practically everything else!" Yani explained, [Name] was very interested in her best friends Au as it contained many intriguing information.
Many hours passed as they continued talking, only leaving the cafe when the establishment was nearing closing hours. The duo talked and talked, well, more like Yani spoke and [Name] dropped small replies, questions and sentences. The latter was more or less familiar with listening rather than speaking. Yani stood with [Name] facing the taller woman's door, the red head intented to say goodbye as she turned her body towards the quiet woman. "Stay." [Name] interjected, staring at the more bubbly woman out of the corner of her eye.
After hours of spending time together in the [H/c]nette's small but comfortable home, both found themselves exhausted and drained of energy, drowsiness slowly creeping up on them as both of them yawned every few minutes. [Name] was listening, Yani knew that, the red head watched the woman on her lap open her eyes after a few moments as the green eyed woman stopped talking. [E/c] eyes meeting the gaze of emerald irises, a confused look was anything but visible on the taller woman's facial features. "Sleep, you need to rest." Yani instructed, the lady on her lap only turning her head along with her body, her back turned to Yani as said woman watched her friend fall asleep.
Yani thought about it, she thought of what would happen to [Name] if she stayed, but what would also happen if she was sent there.. She wished and hoped for the woman to be safe, but wherever they went, she was always found by danger. A bus crash, a car crash, a falling brick, a random shooter, a store robbery just anything that could harm her!
She knew but she refused to admit.. This world did not accept [Name] as it's child, and one day it might succeed in taking her away... Much thought was put in this decision, Yani has trust in her own creations that they will protect [Name] with all they have. Though she should be fine, their world is nothing compared to the power of multiple Deities. Surely [Name] would be safer than anyone.. Yes, that's right. As Yani looked down at her lap, emerald green eyes watched as the woman slipped in and out of slumber, the red haired Deity spoke out words, words she knew her friend could hear.
"This world has been far too cruel to you, I'm worried it'll decide to end your life, so I'll send you away before it does.. "
'What the f#ck.. '
[Name] thought, as she took in the view of a vast sea, only finding trees—a forest behind her when she turned her head. [E/c] eyes we're blown wide as she tried to make sense of everything

Ok i know you are probably tired of me by this point but think this: Disaster Lineage (not the other Disaster Lineage) Esien/Jackal and the Bubblegum Company/Ghoag.
I probably spelled Bastard Grandpa’s name wrong.

Believe me when I say, I'll never be tired of being asked stuff bout my oc n ideas for characters. Also, I love the fact that the moniker ‘bastard grandpa’ has apperntly stuck because Eisen is a bastard and the bastard is Eisen jssjjdjcjcjc
I’m just gonna go through the battalion and ghost a bit, honestly. I've actually thought bout Ghost n Jackal (blame @lost-on-kamino for that particular rant I went on) but I actually don't think they'd gel that well, or at least won’t ever be ‘friends’ in a sense.

Hear me out, the biggest reason why Ghost is so fuckin annoyed by the jedi being here, is cause he's spent 15+ years in the military already and suddenly the pacifist space wizards are send in and directly promoted to general/commander status. That's not how an army works, that's not how ranks and rising to such works. I know it’s just a joke when Ghost is standing next to Ahsoka when she says that she’s also a commander, but you have to understand how goddamn insane that must seem to him. He’s been doing this for longer than she’s been alive and she technically holds the same amount of power as him. 
Just because you know how to fight, doesn't mean u know how to lead military operations, much less an army. It's the reason why Jackal immediately pulled back from being General. They've kept the title to stay in responsibility if shit goes south so Lockup wouldn't have to carry the burden, but Lockup is very much the leader of the 825th because he's been trained since day one for this. Because Jackal would make the goddamn worst strategist humanily possible. Jackal knows jack-shit on how to lead an army, they're fighting tactics consist of 'Hit it' and 'Hit it Harder'. 
It’s the reason why Ghost gets along with his commando but not with the Jedi. He doesn’t want to listen to them tell Him how to do his goddamn job. And Ghost, all three of Ghoag tbh, has seen and done some insane stuff, no questions asked, but he, and the Ghoag (god i love that name like u wouldn’t believe), are military people through and through and very much not happy with the Jedi being here and in charge.
Now, this whole thing influences the relation the Ghoag-Gang (bear with me, i’m having so much fun with this) would have with the battalion. Or any battalion really. How I imagine a meeting between Jackal and Ghost to go would be along the lines of ‘Cool! You’re commander Ghost, this is commander Lockup, you both are the one’s in charge, go talk’. Jackal would pull back immediately, which is something Ghost can appreciate I think. Otherwise, most of their convo’s would conists of Jackal explaining what they can do and how best to use them as the physical embodiment of a tank that they are. Maybe they’d talk about missions and experiences, but it would be a strange sorta ‘I’m catching you on a smoke break so let’s talk a bit about life’ kinda way, because Jackal is still older and both have led intersting lifes but they won’t ever pry into each other’s private life. So, that mostly leaves Ghost with Lockup, which, ho boi. So. Both are scary motherfuckers when it comes to their physical abilities and Lockup would have a Need to try and take a swing at someone like Ghost. Ghost has actual field experience that Lockup lacks and he’d try and soak up as much information as humanly possible. I think they’d butt heads at some point. They’re both stubborn as all hell and if either of them thinks they’re in the right, there might be a chance it’ll come to physical blows if pushed enough. It would depend on who else is there though. Both Soap and Reg would try and work through it but not be happy about it, same with Jackal. 
But yeah, I think a part of Lockup would admire Ghost, both for his apparent competence, but also for how sure he seems to be with his life. There’s a man that went through everyhing humanly possible but he’s somehow managed to find a life and happiness through it all. It would give Lockup something like hope I think? He’s a man most desperate and lost and seeing somebody else living like that? makes him dream for a bit.
Now, because you invoked the name of the Bastard Granpa Eisen. Very simple. 
They’d fucking loathe each other. Idk yet how exactly Eisen came into being but I’m pretty sure he spawned into exitence as the arrogant, self-assured and condescending bastard that he is. Eisen can appreciate competence, but he’d still try and take over command because he believes himself to be the best there is (it’s even worse for other when he manages to push through and go back only to say ‘what, like it was hard?’) and it rubs Ghost, Soap, Reg, all of them, the wrong way. It would be an ongoing battle of threats, not even thinly veiled, and very dramatic spars where Ghost just wants to break his fucking nose- 
but yeah, keep them far away from each other. terrible idea. he’d make Ghosts’ blood boil. 
All in all, typical Jedi shenanigans are exactly what Ghost hates so much and he’d be none too pleased if the 825th somehow pulled him into it. If they instead manage to stay on mission, follow through with the plans and strategies they’ve come up with, something Lockup also very much loves, he’d be good. Happy even. For once there’s no Jedi bullshittery that seems to follow these monks everywhere! He might become a sorta weird role model for Lockup, keep a respectful distance to Jackal (and also Margo because Ghost will not start a friendship with a 15 year old, no thx, this is not the place, he doesn’t like 99 percent of the sentient population, leave him be) and probably attempt to murder Eisen.

How serendipitous that the queue had the ask that started it all scheduled for today. How about we do another round of title asks? Why did you pick "saccharine tithes of love and glory" to title your seer AU? If you want, you can explain the individual works, but I think those are pretty self-evident how they are fitting, so I'm only asking for the series as a whole.
so i had "saccharine tithes of love and glory" sitting in my "this will make a good title!" folder for a while before i used it. i actually initially had it as the title for the fic now called "i saw a face in the window of the house on high" which yes is in fact the most Unwieldy title for a one shot and i need to rework the outline bc it turns out no i cannot keep myself from writing squilf pov so i think it's going to be three parts and like that means i could do it in three chapters and anyway i'm rambling.
right so "i saw a face" was conceived of After stolag, but that's another story. i had stolag down as "medicine cat swap au" for a Long time, and then i was figuring out the fic/chapter titles (this was before i had decided how i was publishing), so i finally decided i was using ivy for part titles, because it's about forbidden love, which is what stolag is about. albeit, the focus is on family over romance, but still.
so well. in my Personal Vault of Associations, sugar and love go hand in hand. i have an essay titled "sucrose" that's about my experience with relationships and love and hold on.
I never wanted to kiss him while we were dating. Or ever, for all that it matters. The action seems pithy to me, pointless. You press lips, and it goes mechanical and slow, me caught in honey and amber. I don’t want to kiss, I don't crave it. He pulls me on to his couch and I pet his dog and we don't make eye contact because if I look, I'll think about the sweetness and how it hurts my teeth like the cold.

see i have Sensitive and Soft teeth but also a sweet tooth, so it's a very personal association, but it's one i've developed through this essay and into my broader poetry.

there is something to be said for what is painful being good in the right amounts.
so stolag's title is tied to some really personal associations. like, i don't really Expect others to understand it the way i think "here is the deepest secret nobody knows" is pretty straightforward. but stolag comes from this idea as love as sugar and pain.
there's a bit more to it: tithes conjures religious imagery (why seers are sent away), and glory: seers are tied to honour. but mostly, it's from a personal association.
work title explanations under the cut (considerably shorter because they Are fairly straight-forward and there are 8 + 1 of them):
"grieving for the living": yellowstorm's fic establishes the status quo. basically every other seer is going to be about Breaking the rules in some way or another, so she's the anchor. and so her motif is about the fact that her kin has to grieve for her because they'll never keep her.
(If she had asked, the answer would have been, "Because I, and my mother, and her mother, and her mother, have yellow eyes, and I want to give you something to remember us by." Most seers' names are gifts like these. Trinkets and tokens of families they will one day part with.)
"where the spirit meets the bones": easily the most straightforward title in the series. spottedleaf represents spirituality, and riverclan tells with bones. there's not much to be said here, considering how central the motifs of visions and bones are to the whole fic.
"putting roots in my dreamland": cinderpelt stays in thunderclan for a very long time. i believe a year and a half? and so when she leaves to shadowclan (a clan she already has problems with), she's very uncomfortable there.
later, she goes back to thunderclan, and the thing is, she isn't. unlike yellowstorm, she hasn't assimilated to her new clan as well, but it's still hers. so, you know: she's got roots in thunderclan, far stronger than most, but she recognizes that it's not her place.
kldfjsa i could probably say more but there's a lot to cover.
"it's been promised to another": okay look there are several interpretations of this title. in fact the whole Fic is a repetition of this idea. but the two Big ones, the ones i was thinking of, are
leafpool goes to windclan instead of riverclan (straightforward)
and the three are crowfeather's kits (as opposed to mothwing's). the Dynamics of all of these relationships are...complex, to say the least, but leafpool and crowfeather are this coping mechanism of a relationship. leafpool's love is mothwing.
"in a faith-forgotten land": yes okay mothwing is an atheist but actually it's about the sightstone, the thing that gets mentioned in yellowstorm's fic and then doesn't come up again except i swear it will i have not forgotten about it it is going to be relevant i swear to god.
anyway, "faith-forgotten" is a good description of mothwing in this au. she starts off fairly spiritual, and spirals out of it, because she can't connect with starclan when she has problems she needs help with. and...her fic ends with her getting flamepaw. idk. there's something symbolic in that that i can't Quite find the words to express.
okay, before i go into unpublished fics, so that people don't have to risk spoilers, "there's holy water, undiluted; i see the divine": sometimes i just Like How Things Sound, okay? but also...i mean this is a very literal interpretation of the fic.
there's not a Ton to say i just really liked this title and it fit the fic really well since you know. the whole concept of the fic is establishing the lore for the "the divine cannot be diluted" motif i use in riverclan, and specifically, expand on something that i couldn't include in wtsmtb for pacing reasons.
right, here on out is unpublished fics, read at your own risk.
"for moments that we stole": squilf loses two kits as seers. enough said.
but of course, it's also about her sister, it's also about...heh no not giving too much away. but i will say, squilf's fic centres around characters who have been background casualties of other stories (lostface, hawkwing). like the reason i'm giving her a fic is best expressed by the characters themselves, so a lil sneak peek for you:
"I didn't," she agreed. She wrapped her tail around Squirrelflight. "You know what story the elders never tell? What happened to her kits." She rested her head on Squirrelflight's. "They don't tell us what they thought or what they wanted." "They can't. No one wants to hear that story." Lostface purred. "I do. I want to hear that story."
(in case it isn't clear, bc this is pretty stripped of context, they're referring to moth flight's kits.)
squirrelflight's fic is a chance to tell stories for characters who arguably are just as tragic as the seers. cinderpelt tells lostface she didn't have a chance to say goodbye; how must it have felt, as brightpaw, to awaken with her sister gone? that's.
moonkitti said, in a recent video, something to the effect of "leafpool's choices had bigger consequences on the cats around her" and wow that's Real true of stolag.
anyway there's more to say about this but i've shown enough cards.
"sit and watch what we'll become": ah, jayfeather. in this au, him being a warrior is never a question...but that doesn't mean he doesn't have struggles with ableism. each fic in stolag is in fact chosen to explore something new in the universe. like, i didn't just pick seven of my favourite thunderclan medicine cats and one squirrelflight, i had Actual Purpose behind them.
yellowstorm: establish normal; spottedleaf: breaking the rules of no violence; cinderpelt: an unsuccessful assimilation; leafpool: forbidden love; mothwing: discuss atheism; squirrelflight: those who are left behind
jayfeather and alderheart's specific purpose will stay quiet, because i can't. like squirrelflight's piece was something i wasn't going to explore, but i needed her for a narrative purpose, so that was something i chose to explore through her.
anyway, jayfeather's fic title is basically him to starclan.
"on begged and borrowed time": hmmm how to explain this one...it's a bit of a nod to squirrrelflight (the line in the song is "for moments that we stole on begged and borrowed time"), but alderheart...
i really, really can't say very much about him. but i'll say, i saw a comment on a moonkitti video and said "oh shit, i have an ending for stolag, i can actually write the au"

Vinnie Hacker x Reader
Synopsis: You decide to prank Vinnie with the help of Alex and Kouvr.
Warnings: fluffy? Angst? idk, Vinnie has a potty mouth along with everyone else

"Hey guys, so judging by the title you all know where this is headed. In my last vlog I surprised my good friend Vinnie Hacker with a billboard of his old Tinder account, and his reaction to it was quite underwhelming. So me being a terrible friend I wanted something more, standing to the right side me right now I'm pretty sure you all know her by now is Vinnie's girlfriend-" Alex paused and turned the camera slightly over to Y/n who was standing in front of her bathroom mirror.
"What's up!" She exclaimed, waving to the camera.
"And as you can see we're in her bathroom. Now the million dollar question is why? Well we'll be applying these fake hickeys on her neck!" Alex explained holding up a packet of temporary love bite tattoos that he ordered online.
"Vinnie I'm sorry!" Y/n squeaked out, feeling excited about the prank but also nervous. To make Vinnie buy into the whole thing, Alex suggested that she act a little standoffish and not really answer any of his calls along with sending him one worded text.
Yeah they were really winging it.
"Okay guys so to make this believable and give us the reaction we want, Y/n's been acting completely strange with Vinnie all day, what he know now is that she's out to the store grabbing some stuff, when in reality she's been gone for two hours and had been blowing him off. He doesn't know that I'm with her or Kouvr-" He paused again pointing to Kouvr who was helping Y/n put on the fake hickeys.
"He is going to freak out!" Kouvr chuckled, feeling nervous for Y/n.
Just the y/n's phone began ringing, the trio looked at already knowing who it was. She picked it up, putting the speaker on.
"Hello?" She asked, biting the inside of her cheek.
"Baby, where are you? Are you okay?" He asked worriedly, thinking something bad must've happened.
Y/n's heart fluttered, here he was feeling so worried for her and all she was doing was putting fake hickeys on her neck to crush his heart. 
But the show must go on.
"I'm fine, why are you calling?" 
Vinnie, who was sitting in his room, looked down at the phone in confusion and slight suspicion.
"What do you mean why am I calling? You've been gone for almost three hours now! Where the hell are you?" Vinnie was now aggravated that she wasn't bothered by the fact that she's basically blowing him off.
"I'm at the store?" Y/n said in a purposeful non convincing tone. Alex covered his mouth trying not to laugh.
"What the- are you buying the entire fucking store? Seriously, you're acting weird, just come back here please." Vinnie said.
"Okay, I'll be there in a minute." Y/n said, pressing a few fake hickeys around her neck and on top of her cleavage.
"Okay hurry, I love you." Vinnie said sincerely.
"Love you too." She quickly ended the call before he could say anything about not saying the "i". That was one of his pet peeves, y/n knew this, and in this case it was a perfect use.
After the call ended Alex and Kouvr left to go back to the hype house, leaving y/n in her apartment not wanting to be suspicious of all three of them arriving at the house together.
She waited around in her apartment until Alex texted her that they arrived at the house. 
Y/n quickly left her apartment and made her way to the hype house, feeling anxious. She didn't know how Vinnie was going to react.
She pulled up to the house and parked in the large driveway. Turning off the ignition she sat in her car for a few minutes examining the hickeys on her neck and chest. She was wearing a striped spaghetti strap crop top that showed off a bit of cleavage.
Here goes nothing. 
Before she got out of the car she grabbed Vinnie's zip up Hoodie from the backseat and slipped it on. She didn't want to make it obvious.
Right when she stepped into the house she was greeted by Vinnie who was seemingly waiting by the door for her to enter.
"Three hours, y/n really?" He furrowed his eyebrows, noticing her attire. It was like 100 degrees outside. Why the hell is she wearing a hoodie? 
"I know I'm sorry! Traffic was a bitch, and the mall was crowded." She lied, noticing everyone in the living room including Alex and Kouvr who were still vlogging.
"You said you were going to the grocery store." Vinnie said shifting his feet, something was off. And he knew it
"I went both to the grocery store and the mall." She quickly said, mentally patting herself on the back.
He squinted his eyes at her and then shook his head. 
"No you didn't go to either,  because you forgot your purse and wallet here."  He said matter of factly , causing y/n's face to drop. She'd completely forgot about that, but hey way more easy to sell into the prank.
They stood there in silence for a moment, Vinnie glaring at her wondering why the hell is she lying. 
Just as she was about to respond Alex, luckily chimed in. 
"Hey Vinnie and y/n join us in playing, never have I ever!" 
"No, me and y/n are going to my room." Vinnie said, still staring at her.
"I would love to play Alex!" Y/n exclaimed nervously, quickly walking away from Vinnie before he could grab her arm.
She joined Jett,Alex,Thomas,Michael,and Kouvr in the living room. Vinnie stood there for a moment before following her and sitting down next to her. 
He was getting pissed, why on earth would she lie? Or maybe she's telling the truth and realized at the time she forgot her purse and went to her apartment to get her spare credit card. 
That reasoning calmed him down a little, but just a little. It still didn't justify her not answering his calls or texts the majority of the time she was out.
Meanwhile Alex noticed Vinnie's demeanor, and glanced at y/n who was answering Jett's question.
"I'd never been skinny dipping, sound fun though." Y/n shrugged
"Maybe Vinnie can take you, on one of these hot days." Alex mentioned, sparing a look at Vinnie who was pretty much in his own world.
"Oh ,I don't think Vinnie is in the mood for me right now." Y/n joked, motioning towards Vinnie.
That made him snap his head towards her. "Don't say that, you know there's never a time when I'm not in a mood for you. C'mere" 
He pulled her into his lap and kissing her on the lips while wrapping his arms around her. This wasn't unusual for Vinnie, he can never really stay mad at her.
"Okay lovebirds that's enough." Michael tossed a pillow in their direction, Vinnie caught it swiftly and threw it back at him.
Alex took this time to comment on Y/n's hoodie, purposely of course.
"Hey y/n you aren't hot? What's with the hoodie?" Alex smirked, aiming the camera towards the couple.
"Dude, she's fine. She doesn't need you to tell her that she's hot, only I can." Vinnie said snuggling into her. Causing y/n to snicker at his comment.
"No he's right, it is getting pretty toasty in here." Y/n chuckled, unwrapping Vinnie's arms so that she could take off the hoodie.
Once it was off she placed it to the side and took a glance at the hickeys that still were there on top of her breasts, looking very much real.
I am so dead.
Vinnie went back to wrap his arms around her and pulled her back tightly against his chest, and rested his chin on her shoulder. 
Kouvr and Alex, were the only ones who knew about the prank, the others were just as clueless as Vinnie. So when Thomas nudged Vinnie quietly and motioned towards his chest/neck mouthing the words "she has a shit tons of hickeys bro". That definitely caught Vinnie's attention.
He took a quick peek over your shoulder, and there as clear as day dark purple bruises were scattered on your neck and on your cleavage.
"What the fuck? babe, what are those?" He asked, looking over the marks.
"Oh, that's just a burn. Kouvr, never have I ever started a fire." Y/n said quickly, trying to get the attention off her.
"Um, one time when me and Alex were making this big pizza-" Kouvr started to explain but was so caught off by Vinnie's loud voice.
"That's not a fucking burn!" He unwrapped his arms around you once again, and moved your hair from off your shoulders, revealing more "hickeys".
"What? It is!" You fake being annoyed trying to move your hair back from over your shoulder, but Vinnie kept it back rubbing his index finger over it and taking a quick glance at his finger to make sure it wasn't just makeup.
It wasn't, and that pissed him off to the core thinking that he'll give you the benefit of the doubt and thinking it was you joking around with him.
"Bullshit! What the fuck? No-are you serious right now y/n?" He lifted your body and sat you on the side of him. 
Everyone else in the room watching the scene unfold in front of them with interest and shock—aside from Alex and Kouvr.
"It's a burn! I was trying to flatiron my hair and it ended up with me having a few burns." You managed to get out with a straight face, which angered Vinnie even more.
"Your hair is in fucking braids Y/n!" He exclaimed motioning your hair, which was in fact in freshly knotless braids.
Realizing your mistake you tried to cover it. "Okay, I fell out of the car before I came here and my body rolled down the driveway."
You heard a slight snicker and saw Alex trying to hold in his laughter along with everyone else at your bullshit excuse. The only person who didn't find it amusing was Vinnie.
"You really think this is funny?" He questioned, towering over you as you were sitting down on the couch.
"I'm telling the truth, babe." You looked up at him with amusement dancing in your eyes.
"Those are hickeys! No burn or fucking rolling down a driveway would make these specific marks! Jesus Christ! there's one actually on your tit!" He yelled, looking over the scattered hickeys.
"It's not very nice to use Jesus's name in vain, you should know, choir boy." You said, not taking the situation seriously. 
This time your comment made Alex burst out laughing which made Vinnie snap his head in his direction glaring at him.
"Bro, this shit is not funny- and why the hell are you recording this?" Vinnie furrowed his eyebrows.
"Because he's filming a vlog now, would you please sit down and continue the game?" You reached out to grab his hands to pull him back down on the couch.
"Don't touch me y/n! I seriously can't believe you!" He exclaimed taking a step back, 
"Vinnie, chill it's nothing! It's a mosquito bite!" You lied again, making Vinnie scoff and place his hands on his hips.
"So what the fuck is it y/n? First you say it's a burn, then a tumble down the driveway did it, and now a mosquito bite?" He looked at you in disbelief, before shaking his head. "That explains why you were gone for that long, who were you with?" 
Your mouth dropped in fake shock. "Are you accusing me of cheating?"
He threw his hands up in the air. "Well what do you call it then?"
"Okay, you cannot answer my question with a question." You said, not taking any of this seriously
"I'm not fucking joking around with you, I can't believe this!" He grabbed my chin turning my head to look at the 'hickeys' once more.
You snatched your head away from his grasp, looking at his serious expression.
"No I know you wouldn't do this" He said chuckling to himself while placing his hands on his hips. He paced in front of everybody mumbling.
You glanced at everyone's faces, and pretty much everyone has the same expression as you all watch Vinnie pace back and forth.
He's lost it.
"Y/n please just be honest, tell me you didn't!" He stopped pacing and glanced down at you. He ran his hand through his hair blinking rapidly as different emotions were displayed on his face.
You felt so bad. You completely forgot he's been down this road before with his ex, only that was real.
It's time to end this dumbass prank, you didn't want to go too far. In fact Alex never really told you when to stop, so might as well do it on your own accord.
"Okay, I'll admit it." You pretended to be guilty and look down. Out the corner of your eye you see Alex still recording, with the sheer glee on his face.
Vinnie swallowed the lump in his throat getting prepared for what's to come out of your mouth.
"These are hickeys, and they clearly weren't from you." You looked up with a pained look.
Vinnie nodded to himself, accepting the fact that you basically admit to cheating on him.
"They were from tom's twiddle shop." You added, breaking into a smile. 
"You just got pranked bro!" Alex exclaimed, jumping up, shoving the camera in Vinnie's confused face.
"No way!" Thomas and the rest of the group said, before laughing.
"Baby c'mere! Look!" You grabbed the alcohol wipes from Kourv who had them on standby, to wipe off the fake hickeys which came off with a couple of scrubs.
Vinnie watched with his jaw dropped, feeling absolutely relieved. 
"Can I have a hug?" You asked walking, over to him after being denied a couple times.
"You scared me, I thought-" He was interrupted by you kissing him on the lips.
"I would never do that to you, I love you." Giggles left your lips, as you look at the relief flashed on Vinnie's face.
Judging by his past experience, he was put at ease that it is in fact one of Alex's dumbass pranks that he somehow got you involved in.
"Bro you should've seen your face!" Alex wheezed, clutching his camera making sure it was directed at Vinnie.
"That's not funny, fuck you ." Vinnie playfully bucked at Alex who laughed even harder.

you'll be a real good listener, you'll be honest, and one day you'll be brave [1k | 5x17 coda |uncle!buck | feelings realization (in more ways then one) | phone calls] {ao3} a/n: i srsly have no idea where this came from lmao. i started with the picture of buck talking through things with jee and then eddie called and then it was a thousand words 🤷. title inspired by a better son/daughter by rilo kiley. takes place a few minutes after the end of 5x17, major spoilers.
Buck stares at his niece, she's sitting in his lap, leaning against his legs that are propped up on the coffee table, and is studying the hem of her shirt intently.
"Eddie really chose the worst week to go to Texas huh kid," he sighs rubbing his thumbs over her toes. She looks up at him and scrunches her face, shakes her head and lets out a "Buh!"
"Sorry, I'm not pleasant company Jee," he pauses, "Your parents are being real silly you know that? But they've done this before. Took a minute. And then you happened!" He pokes her belly and she lets out a shriek of giggles, "But whatever happens, I hope you know you have the best mom in the whole world. She fought so many battles to have you, to be with you. And your dad, well, he put up with me, and survived so much too. You're a really lucky kid. But mostly cause you have me for an uncle," he smiles softly, and Jee's eyes begin to droop as he brings her to his chest, his hand spanning her entire back as he stands and makes his way to her room.
He sits in the rocking chair and reads her Pat the Bunny a couple times and then hums a few songs until she is solidly asleep. He just holds her for a moment. And a lump settles in his throat as a realization washes over him. He wants this. He has this. Well not this exactly, but something close, and close enough.
He sets her down in her crib, and she shifts and snuffles, but ultimately settles, taking a deep breath and sighing.
His phone is buzzing on the coffee table when he returns to the living room. He doesn't even look, and just hits the side button, sending the call to voicemail. Because it was probably Taylor. Calling to explain herself. And he can't yell at her. Not with Jee asleep down the hall. He doesn't want to talk to her anyway. He's not even sure what he would say.
His phone starts buzzing incessantly again. So he answers. Because she'll probably just keep calling. Even though that doesn't sound too much like her. So he answers, not even looking at the screen.
"Look Taylor, I can't do this with you right now. Jee is asleep, and if I yell-"
"It's not Taylor," Eddie's warm voice washes over him,
"Oh," he breathes out, the tension falling out of his shoulders, "your dad picked out a really shitty week to have a party. Chris isn't on the phone is he?"
"No, he's asleep," Buck can hear the soft smile that plays across Eddie's lips, "So, what happened? Why are you with Jee? Maddie and Chim okay?"
"Jonah kidnapped Hen and Chimney," he takes a breath, "Eddie, he killed him twice and brought him back twice thank God. He killed Claudette. They're both fine, just staying overnight at the hospital for observation, but Eds-"
"Holy shit. And where the piece Taylor fit in?"
"She helped put the Claudette pieces together. Or rather, had the evidence in the form of news footage. She said it was off the record but-"
"She reported it anyway," he doesn't question.
"She had this look in her eye, called it all fascinating. God I feel so stupid. She hasn't changed an inch in three years."
"You believed in her. Saw the good. That doesn't make you stupid. That's one of the things that makes you, you Buck."
"How's it going over there?" Buck asks,
"I'll answer but don't think that doesn't mean we're done talking about your stuff."
Buck rolls his eyes and huffs out a breath.
"So, guess who's dad has been hiding heart issues for over a year?"
"You're kidding."
"Three stents, Buck," he sighs, "and all it took was me berating him for making me grow up too fast."
"And you said that you didn't want any drama."
"Turns out I am the drama," he laughs a little, "May taught me that. We talked more later. I cried in front of him, Buck. I told him about my panic attacks, and therapy. And he told me he didn't want to miss anymore of my life. I never thought-"
"I'm so proud of you Eddie. So proud," Buck squeezes the phone in his hand wishing he could look Eddie in the eye right now. "And I'm gonna tell you again when I can hug you and- But I am so proud of you. And I'm happy for you. For both of you."
And silence washes over them. Listening to each other breathe.
"I have to break up with her don't I?" Buck sighs after a few minutes.
"You said it not me."
"And it's not just this one thing. I don't know that I'm in love with her. I kept telling myself that I had to be, cause she said she loved me. But when I think about the future she's not the one I'm thinking about. I think about my kids and my future and I-I don't see her, I don't see little red haired and blue eyed babies. And I need partner. Someone I can trust. Someone who doesn't make me look over my shoulder at every turn. Someone who has my-" he swallows the last word before he says it.
"Yeah, I think that's what we're all looking for at the end of the day," Buck hears the smile again, "and to quote you, that's not how you talk about someone you're in love with,"
"Yeah," he swallows, "Well, it's late there. And we both has weird days. So I'll let you get to bed. Give Chris a hug for me. See you at the airport tomorrow."
"Will do. See you tomorrow. Goodnight, Buck."
"Night Eddie."
He hangs up the phone and takes a breath. He pads down the hallway to check on Jee, still sound asleep. And grabs a pillow and a blanket from the closet before settling on the couch. It hits him, what he almost said, "I think about my kids and I see Chris...Someone who has my back."
"Shit," he whispers to the ceiling.
