Kaos analysis if ya can! Literally just anything about him :0
Maybe his skills? I am truly curious about his position as a dark portal master.
ooh! kaos happens to be one of my favorite characters, and you bringing up him being a dark portal master... I do not own every piece of skylanders media, but I will do my best to summarize his skills in a detailed manner. within spyros adventure. he has control over various elemental spells, which range from doom sharks to lasers, his mechanical suit also utilizes these spells and I assume them to be built into the suit, he also seems to be able to summon his minions at free will. its never stated whether his giant floating head is via technology or something else, the closest we get is him telling glumshanks to turn it off after trailing off. in giants. the only skills hes seen using are directly connected to the iron fist (summoning arkeyans, eye lasers, the healing-damage-spell contraption), though I do not know much of it is due to the iron fist or his own built in magic. swap force, in VV nature, features a different set of capabilities for him. he uses petrified fire in one cutscene without any prior build up, and as super evil kaos can create shockwaves or bring his thoughts to reality. I must say that I was... unimpressed, back when I saw he didnt use anything relating to petrified darkness... but I am getting off topic. trap team, which was of course done by TFB, gives him a new super powered form. when affected by the stinkocity, he appears to... be able to see through dimensions? as he can see you (the player) through the tv screen, his vision also became faux psychedelic which I feel is relevant enough to mention. as his traptanium form he sprouts wings, gets crystal blades, can make... black energy? I dont know how to describe it, amongst some other things. superchargers has an interesting spin... which I quite like! he seems to be getting a power boost from the darkness, and actually utilizes some of his own spells (to my understanding, I am unsure if its been confirmed anywhere), such as teleportation + fake copies, crystal swords and hands. I think this is a really wonderful change of pace compared to his usual per-game super powered form. imaginators, I feel is the weakest. he lost his connection to the darkness after it was destroyed in superchargers, so instead we get mind magic and... super saiyan final boss...? imaginators is an extremely short and unfinished game to my knowledge, so I will not dwell on it for too long, but I believe mind magic lets him imagine anything into existence. though you can argue its not actually him whos using the magic as I believe it comes from brain. its extremely easy to make a joke about kaos only being a threat when he has outside forces assisting him, but to me that is a massive disservice to his character. it has been a bit since I read the novels, but in those he uses a wide variety of spells from teleporting individuals with the snap of his fingers, lightning, flying flower pots, lightning that drains your energy, as well as various contraptions like a miniature portal. the novels have a strange habit of switching back and forth from him being a threat and a joke, but the skylanders rarely face him head on due to him backing them into corners with his own skills & tactics, which I enjoy! upon acquiring the mask of power, he can steal the skylanders powers, though I feel this is unnecessary to further go into. one thing interesting about kaos is that he is extremely tactical while being horribly impulsive, so he ends up in a strange situation where he has the cards to win, but his emotions get the better of him. he is also someone who uses a lot of technology in his plans, and its not uncommon to see his spells accompanied by a contraption, that is typically implied to be created by him (or, that is how I have always seen it), he also created & brought the wilikin to life as a young portal master. I am sure there are pieces I have missed, due to not owning every book. but if so those who own those books can likely provide.

I've beat inscryption but kaycees mod is beating my absolute ass! I cannot for the life of me beat it even once!! Give pro strats pls... (also I love your art so so much obviously but I also think it'd be fun to ask you about the game itself if that's ok!!! :,D)
ofc id be happy to talk about the game itself!! dont feel bad about losing to kmod its very hard on purpose because kaycee likes inflicting pain!
first of all, i learned a lot of lifesaving strats/tricks from this little fanmade kmod wiki! it gives pros/cons for each starter deck and goes into detail about how hand manipulation works and stuff, check it out for sure
that said the most important things to do are:
keep a small deck, especially try not to have more than one or two 1-blood cost cards or free cards
have a big damage card that can 1-hit KO leshy on the first turn (5 damage until you get the challenge that starts you off with 1 damage on your side, then this card should do 6 damage)
those rules probably arent as important when youre just starting and the challenges arent too bad, but eventually leshy is gonna pull a bifurcated turkey vulture on his first turn when you turn the heat up down the road so itd be wise to get into the rhythm early. im assuming you only have vanilla deck unlocked, so try buffing the wolf with bifurcated or at a good campfire
you want to keep your deck small so you can reliably pull your win card preferably on the first turn, when you have too much useless crap like pelts or extra 1-blood costs, theyre going to be pulled in your starting hand and you wont be able to do enough damage in time.
its wise to have at least two 1-Hit-KO win cards to prepare for the prospector since he wipes your board after phase one, and having a backup is valuable when you cant trim down your deck enough
try to avoid map nodes that give you cards, and try to aim for map nodes that will take away cards (or otherwise wont give you new ones). use the campfire to try and get rid of cards you dont want, try to fail cave challenges, dont buy pelts from trapper (buy his knife instead if you can), etc. if a campfire doesnt kill your card you can also exit to menu and re-enter the game to have it buff your preferred card instead lol. and if youre forced to pick a cost card, go with 3-blood cost. if youre forced to pick a family card, try to get one that you can fuse with your win card at mycos. again, you can always exit/re-enter start menu to see what your other options are
that said, ive started doing something on my own that i havent seen mentioned anywhere, and its making sure to use an item in battle if backpack is your next node, to prevent yourself from getting packrats from having a full inventory. im sure theres a strat where you can get a bunch of rats to fuse at mycos but it isnt worth it imo
that, and also try to have at least one item that can instantly kill/remove a card from leshy's board before you fight final boss leshy, like the hook, trapper knife, or scissors. ideally you want to kill his moleman so you can use your KO card before he pulls out prospector and wipes your board and things get hairy. there is a guaranteed backpack node before you fight leshy, you can actually exit and re-enter game to make sure you get the item you want if you dont feel bad about it lol (magickal bleach works against the moleman too but you have to unlock this)
getting your KO card is easier once you unlock the Blood deck (its the first you unlock i believe, after 1-2 challenges) cause it gives you a goat and moose! try to buff that moose at least once, maybe give the goat a good sigil like undying, fecundity or hoarder (hoarder can be a lifesaver if your deck is too big, its the sigil magpie has) or otherwise you can sacrifice the mole to the goat at an early sacrifice stone

HERE lT IS!!! basically u can play solo or with up to 4 ppl, and as the turtles u fight through different levels/maps facing foe like the foot & the kraang + boss characters including bepop, rocksteady, chrome dome, etc!!! u collect power ups throughout the game while also getting moments of aide from metalhead, leatherhead, and others!!! the best part is u can use more credits to keep playing once you're out of health so i literally load up the card to keep going as long as possible 🤭 the audio and little quips that the characters/turtles make while u play are so authentic it makes me smile so big :))) we went for the 2nd night in a row tonight so here's a pic of me and my gf playing as the A Team 🫡
I DONT KNOW HOW I MISSED THIS IN MY INBOX FOR SO LONG BUT OH MY GOD THAT IS AMAZING
that looks like so much fun. but also begs the question as to why tmnt, such a HUUUGE franchise that’s spanned for as long as it has in media, rarely gets any game adaptations? like you’d think 2012 would have hopped on that. ik we had a 2007 and a 2003 game but it surprises me that there aren’t a lot of tmnt games out there.
that being said we are getting the mutant mayhem game and the last ronin game so. that’s a win :)
but dude, that’s so much fun. if i walked into an arcade and saw THAT. im pretty sure i would die on impact. straight up. my brain would not be able to handle it lmao. LITTLE CHARACTER QUIPS IN GAMES ARE SO SO COOL!!!!!! is it the actual va’s?:) anyway, thank you so much for sharing !!! always appreciated to live vicariously through you lol

Howdy hon~! It’s been awhile sorry >_<, but if anything I’m kinda wanna know if you have any fun little facts about your ocs that you’ve sent dying to tell us about?
Orrr… tell us what would happen if they all has their eyes on the same darling? (You don’t have to do all of them but your, like, ones that would have an interesting dynamic)
I’ll think up some more I wanna know about your characters, but for now I hope this is enough!
Anyhoo, please remember to take care of yours and have a lovely day/night!
-🍒
yan corp members pining after the same darling
(unedited)
Tumblr media
knox:
will play dirty.
he wouldn't even try to hide it or anything
he would make it absolutely clear to the others that he wants you and anyone that's willing to go up against him for your heart, should be prepared for his dirty games.
knox rarely falls for anyone so when he realises that its you that he wants, he absolutely goes all out.
he will buy you gifts and spoil you while making himself look like the best possible option among the yan corp bosses
he also doesn't mind poisoning your thoughts against the other corp members.
he wants you and he'll have you by all means.
his biggest rival would be florence, because she can predict his behaviour fairly well.
biggest weakness: he can be a bit materialistic, so his tactics wouldn't work well with a darling that doesn't like being spoilt.
florence:
similar to knox, florence might have the tendency to play dirty
but unlike knox, she's more tactical about it.
she'll play the 'misunderstood victim' card
in this instance, she'll make it seem like she isnt really mean or a 'tough boss'
that all the staff just dont like her cause they misunderstand her a lot
as she does this, she simultaneously acts very nicely towards you so that it seems more believable.
by using this angle, she's making herself look good while subtly diminishing your opinions about the other corp bosses.
this method would work especially well on a very empathetic darling.
her biggest rival would be angel because of her natural charm and kindness.
biggest weakness: she's a bit impatient so she cant play the 'long game', which wouldn't work well for a darling that gets overwhelmed easily.
angel:
tbh, angel wouldn't have to do much
she's already known as the office sweetheart so she has a nice reputation
however, she may just play it up a little bit
angel would act extra nice to staff and especially towards you
she'd be extremely nice to people in the same department as you, so that they can continue to gush about how nice she is.
if this doesn't work and you continue to remain indifferent to her advances, angel doesn't mind playing damsel in distress.
tripping on the stairs and into your arms, falling over with a stack of papers in your hallway (what is she using all that paper for anyway?), the buttons on her shirt randomly popping off when you're the only person in the room, her ''forgetting'' an umbrella when wearing a white shirt and needing to borrow the extra sweater you brought to work-
the list goes on tbh
and out of everyone in the corp, you're most likely to fall for angel.
mostly because she's so good at what she does
her biggest rival would be her brother, priest, because he's a fast thinker and can quickly think of ways to counter her 'pining methods'
biggest weakness: a shy/introverted darling wouldn't appreciate angel intruding into their personal bubble so often, unless they've become close.
priest:
priest would easily win against all the corp members
as head of marketing, he's extremely good at predicting human behaviour
therefore he's always one step ahead of everyone else
for example, knox could have set up a surprise at your desk at work, addressing it from your 'secret admirer'
since knox has a tendency to act suspiciously when he's planning something as well as having the tendency to spoil love interests with gifts, priest would expect that he was planning a surprise for you
and priest would counteract that by sending you on field work that day, or asking you to take it easy and work from home that day, so you would never get to see the surprise.
priest would constantly work hard to counteract every single thing that the other corps members could do to woo you.
his biggest rival would be bennett, because bennett has a tendency to be unpredictable and to think outside the box.
biggest weakness: if a corp member or darling doesn't act according to his prediction, then it can make him look bad and jeopardise his chances with darling
quinn:
quinn's tactic to winning over darling is an unusual one, yet very smart.
their plan is to do nothing.
act uninterested, tell the other corps members that they are uninterested and act friendly to you in a semi-platonic way.
quinn will quietly wait in the shadows and let the corps members fight amongst each other over you, and when everyone least expects, they'll strike and snatch you up.
they'll have lunch with you everyday, and grow close to you, slowly but surely.
they dont mind even playing double agent, in which a corp members asks quinn to play wingman, and help them out
quinn agrees obviously, and uses that excuse to spend more time with you.
under the guise of 'helping out'
when in fact, they're trying to win you over to themselves.
their biggest rivals would be bennett (because he has more access to information) and angel (because she's more friendly and easy to talk to)
biggest weakness: darling may not like the friends to lovers trope and may end up just friendzoning quinn.
bennett:
finally, bennett.
bennett's tactic is to become the man of your dreams.
he will stalk all your social media to find out what you like, the kind of people you follow, the type of people you dislike, your ideologies-
he'll find out everything
hell, he'll even find out about all your exes and find out what they had in common so he can adopt that attribute into his personality
any kind of man you want, that's what he'll be.
and the thing about bennett is that, he's so discrete about things, so you'd never imagine that he's basing his personality off of what you like
he makes it seem natural
bennett wouldn't actively compete or hate on the other members-
he'd just try to drastically improve his chances.
his biggest rival would probably be angel and quinn, due to the fact that they're both easily approachable and easy to talk to.
biggest weakness: if darling is the type to change their mind/opinion quickly, then bennett may not always be kept updated on their new interest or ideology, therefore rendering his tactic useless.

shgusihfdfj
ive already been spoiled cause i saw
like.
OKAY BOOK SEVEN JP SPOILERS (i just talk about the cards though)
dude i wrote manga spoilers. i confused myself thinking this was an anime. *headbang* LMFAO my bad (if i didnt notice itd be so confusing.. considering this game also has a manga.)
but so like. ive seen lilia's right general armor card already. (there was this post talking about how his voice was deeper in comparison to the other cards.. wuh woh.)
and then later i stumbled into i think sebek having his own card? cant remember the name but im not imagining stuff. i remember the groovy was like. him in armor, and this green light around him. i imagined it as a healing spell but idk i make assumptions like that (i think he needed to be patched up..? but i cant remember)
and it was because of a post talking about how other peeps with titles would get cards for them too or something like that
i dont know
but so. ive been spoiled. i already know what lilia looks like (and have very much admired the card art holy shit its BEAUTIFUL)
but aghh. and war general lilia pains me because he's a jerk. and ive read a fic already with him being said jerk (there's this cool fic where he ends up having a twin because of magic means. they dont get along at first.). and it just hurts. and i know he gets better in the future. and he has valid reasons to be suspicious. but.. my heart... and gah.. silver. his son.
it just. hurt me when he said 'human' and was like 'dont speak unless i ask you a question' or something like that. it was mean.

touhou 19 time! this game was literally not even released when i started this, so this is really fresh! this post is probably the closest i will ever be to a real games journalist lol.
nina's thoughts on Touhou 19 - Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost
the most recent touhou, coming out just a few weeks ago, so this review is hot off the presses! UDoALG (wild abbreviation by the way, this name is so long) is a pretty neat game, being a direct sequel to Wily Beast and Weakest Creature story-wise, and a sequel to Phantasmagoria of Flower View gameplay-wise.
UDoALG is another in the competitive-danmaku type gameplay, similar to PoFV but with a number of evolutions to make the gameplay more balanced and easier to control. i won't go over every little change, since theres quite a lot, but ill point out some interesting changes, mostly in relation to story mode. for starters, Ability Cards are back again from UM, although with a much smaller role. each character has 2 cards themed to them, and whenever you beat an opponent in story mode you're randomly given one of their two cards. the three animal spirits are added, but they work completely differently to WBaWC, now being stronger variants of the generic spirit enemies from PoFV. a change that i think is only in story mode is that a new win condition is added, where if you defeat your opponent's boss summon an amount of times then your opponent loses. this is also pretty much the only wincon in story mode, since the AI has insane dodging skills. i literally only saw them lose a life one (1) time across 19 characters' stories (if you're curious, it was in Chiyari's stage 1).
one really interesting aspect of this game is the storytelling. i usually don't bring up the story in these posts outside of how certain characters relate to it, the story usually is a fairly simple affair that just gives the characters a reason to fight, but UDoALG has a much more complex story, which im kinda mixed on. i'll start with the cool part: the story actually progresses as you play through and unlock various characters in story mode, every set of character unlocks represents a later time period of the story, so you don't get the full story and resolution until you play through it all. this is a super cool idea, and gives good incentive to keep playing different routes and see how it all plays out. its a cool idea that uniquely plays off of the large character roster and unlocking method of these competitive vs games.
unfortunately, in order to make this happen and make every character be relevant, the plot is needlessly convuluted, especially in the first couple campaigns. there are so many factions at play, all with their own motives and double-agents and subterfuge. by the end of the 19 story scenarios you will be absolutely sick of the phrase "this is exactly as i had planned", and yet i still dont fully understand What the "main villain"s plan was. i commend ZUN for trying something new with the narrative, both in doing a direct sequel with most of the same characters as a former game, as well as this way of unfolding the story over time through different character routes, but i can't say it was Good. maybe im just biased since it mostly revolves around the WBaWC cast, and that game already had pretty rough plot and characterization, but i dunno. i will say i liked the story more at the end than i did after doing the first couple routes, but some of that early confusion never really goes away, and characters like Ran and Tsukasa dont really get their stories resolved.
time to talk about the characters! UDoALG is furry city, pretty much every character besides the human incident resolvers is some kind of animal-person, plus a few Onis. for returning characters we have Reimu, Marisa, Sanae, Ran (from PCB), Aunn (HSiFS), Nazrin (UFO), Seiran (LoLK), Rin (SA), Tsukasa (UM), Mamizou (TD), Yachie (WBaWC), Saki (WBaWC), Yuuma (the 3rd Animal Realm leader, coming from a fighting game i think?), and Suika (also a fighting game, and SA). for the new characters, we have 3 new youkai who have each joined one of the animal realm families respectively, plus the 'main villain' Zanmu and her assistant Hisami. since theres only 5 new guys, ill just give them each a quick review.
Son Biten is a monkey youkai, based on Son Wukong, recruited to Yachie's Kiketsu family. she's pretty goofy, and has a really neat musical theme. i dont have much to say about her, besides that she has a cool inspiration, and some of her interactions are pretty funny.
Enoko is a dog-type youkai, loosely based on the idea of Cerberus, who was recruited to Saki's Keiga family. instead of literally having 3 heads, she has bear traps on her wrists that act as analogues to the jaws of two additional heads, which is a really neat interpretation of a cerberus concept, as well as having tons of comedic potential. i love all the jokes people make about her offering up a Totally Normal Handshake, dont worry about it. she apparently lived in the Forest of Magic as a dog before awakening as a youkai, so she joins the crew of Marisa's funny forest friends.
the third new Youkai is Chiyari, who is NOT a chupacabra, despite what everyone says. she's based on a Tenkajin, which is apparently an obscure youkai that sucks blood, obscure enough that i could only find a single source for it online, being a Japanese blog post written by who i assume is a youkai enthusiast. Anyways, nobody in Gensokyo knows what a tenkajin is either, so everyone calls her a chupacabra instead since its another bloodsucking creature who is 'pretty popular right now'. most of her interactions are her being annoyed by being called a chupacabra, and eventually coming to terms with it. poor tenkajin gets no respect. shes very funny, and also apparently completely broken in pvp. great character.
Hisami is a 'guide of Hell', who is also inexplicably based on grapes for some reason (or eggplants, depending on who you ask, but im in grapes camp.) she pretty much just finds people in hell and helps them find their destination, although 'their destination' is up to Hisami's interpretation, and multiple times in the story she leads characters somewhere else. apparently she does her job wrong because she wants Zanmu to notice her, and it doesn't work cause apparently that was part of Zanmu's plan all along, so she doesn't care. Zanmu is too busy playing 4d chess to give her suboordinate some attention, so sad.
speaking of, Zanmu is an Oni, and the 'main villain' of the game. i say that with quotes because, despite being the final boss in most routes, and being the chessmaster supposedly laying out the big plans and manipulating everyone, she also is simultaneously resolving the incident, kinda?? its a bit hard to understand her motivations. well i guess her motivations make sense, but its hard to understand how exactly she plans to get what she wants from this plan. like her plan involves getting beat up by Reimu multiple times? hello?? not a fan, and she doesn't even have a cool design inspiration to make up for it, shes just another oni.
alright, lets wrap this one up. i was surprised to see another VS type game come out, and it seems to deliver a lot more balanced and interesting combat than the first one (granted, story mode plays pretty differently from what i can tell). the story is weird though, and the roster doesn't really have many characters i'm excited to play as compared to PoFV, and the characters i do like are pretty bad. (Sanae in particular is really weak in this format, her homing snakes are a huge disadvantage against bosses since they turn as soon as they see an enemy, meaning they wont hit the boss unless every random spirit or fairy is dead first). complaints aside though, at the base level its still pretty fun, and im glad that this type of gameplay is being given another chance.
i said it in my PoFV review, and ill say it again here: if any of you reading this have UDoALG, and are interested in playing the PvP with me, hit me up! itd be fun to try playing this with another person (although i heard the online is rough so i dunno…)
thank you so much for reading, especially those of you that have stuck with me through each post! this is the end of the mainline series, but there's still a lot out there i havent done. im not sure where this will go from here, especially since my college semester just started so i'll have a lot less free time, but ive had a lot of fun working on this project, and i hope that youve had fun reading it! if i do keep going, i might do the PC-98 quintilogy next, or maybe talk about cool fangames like Luna Nights or Mystia's Izakaya, i dunno. whatever comes next though, i hope to see you again! consider this the end of 'volume 1' of my grimoire. farewell!

here are some of mine!
-marie is 1000% besties with all the mates. (including sam) they gossip abt the pack and sam will complain abt the latest stunt vincent pulled (marie definently tells them embarrassing stories from when the wolves were teens)
-fl has trouble focusing sometimes (same bestie) and just needs someone in the room in case they get off task
-ash sometimes shows up to babe's work unannounced. he'll text them to see if they're busy and if they arent he'll respond like 10 minutes later with "cool, can you let me in? :)"
-david and angel make lunches for each other every other week
-the clan has game nights (dont ever try to get any of them to play twister again..)
-damien and hux have an unspoken thing where they just.. take each other's jackets. like all the time. the rest of the friend group has noticed but it's cute so they dont say anything. (fl and gav definitely talk abt it in private tho)
-sweetheart can take david in a fight (barely)
-lovely collects rocks and vincent lowkey feeds into it (they both love coming up with names for them)
-geordi lives in converse
-smartass was that kid who never spoke except that one time they talked back to a teacher and got written up (teacher lowkey deserved it but u didnt hear that from me)
OMG!
Marie being Mama Wolf to the mates and Sam (even though Sam, really, is not that much younger than her. He was turned at like 30 and Marie is like, "still my new son-in-law") is amazing. I'm just thinking they have a group chat where Marie is always like "Hey I made too much pasta, who wants some?" Or just randomly drops recipes in it and then twenty minutes later a photo of Milo as an eight-year-old, tangled up in some prank Asher pulled while Baby Asher is seen cackling in the background
FL, FL, same bestie. I can focus on certain things alone, but oftentimes but I need someone there to keep me on track.
Ash is a mood. My husband turns up at my clinic for lunch unannounced sometimes and it's very sweet and I think it makes Babe's day more often than not XD
Awww! Davey and Angel making each other's lunches! That's so cute!
OMG never let vampires play Twister. William wins at Monopoly every time but Sam kills it at Risk. And don't get me started on the idea of when Bright Eyes is the traitor in Betrayal At House On The Hill—no one survives
Hux and Damien stealing each other's jackets is 10/10. Huxley's is too big on Damien and Damien's barely fits on Huxley's arms and shoulders XD
I feel like Sweetheart beating David in a fight is conditional and they have, like, a 50/50 shot of actually beating him and only if they play their cards right. Once they figure that play out, though, they can beat him fairly consistently
Lovely is a mood. I was a rock collector kid. I still am. I still have a very vivid memory of my best friend picking up my backpack and being like, "What is in there? Rocks!?" And me promptly reaching into the backpack and pulling out a couple rocks like, "Yeah."
Geordi 🤝 Me      Converse I love Converse so much and, tbh, that really vibes with Geordi. I love it.
Love that Smartass didn't talk back to anyone growing up and then worked for Aaron and had 0 problems arguing with him with 0 respect for him as their boss XD
I love these! So much fun!

Lupin III Chapter 83 Review
this is what lupin gets for making me read another mid chapter again ok well, it's not THAT mid but there's just some part i found overall pointless and confusing
Tumblr media
ok so fujiko and one of her henchman is trying to find this suitcase in the ocean and then the guy finds it and puts the suitcase on her car for her to drive it somewhere
then the guy turns out to be lupin in disguise, and he tied up the henchman who was supposed to do the job on a rock
Tumblr media
fujiko drives to this estate where she tells one of the men there to set the case on the ground, then it??? suddenly goes through the floor???????
is this a thing that's supposed to happen in there??? or is this something lupin's doing?? (we dont get to know in the chapter)
Tumblr media
then fujiko talks to her assistant(sanbo) and mr. sanshita, whos implied to be the owner of the house and the boss they work for. he asks about the case and he explains that it contains the game they're going to do to these certain criminals they picked out, which is why it was important.
the game requires four notorious criminals to play in it, but one decide to opt out last minute, so mr. sanshita asks fujiko to pick out of a list of criminals to act as replacement. one of them is lupin, who is apparently the only "bad option" out of all of them, but she decides to go along with it
Tumblr media
since the picture of the cards are hidden, fujiko doesn't know who she is picking, so she, unsurprisingly, picks lupin accidentally. she doesn't like the result, but they have no choice but to follow the rules of the game.
fujiko and sanbo leaves, and mr. sanshita reveals himself to be lupin in disguise, and that all the cards have been rigged so that he would guaranteed a placing in the game. now, what kind of game is this that he would want to be in it?
the four criminals then arrive, along with fujiko, sanbo, and the host of the game.
Tumblr media
he explains that only one would survive this game and be guaranteed safety from prosecution in his country, and that the rest would die from this. the way you win is by opening the box that doesn't kill you, and if it kills you then oops! too bad so sad
throughout the game all of the ones that don't matter die a horrible death and the host proves himself to be just as bad of a person as all the other criminals in the game. lupin exposes him for stealing japan's corporate and military secrets, which he himself confirms and he really doesn't have any remorse for killing people!
lupin, fujiko, sanbo, and the host remains, and lupin figures out that the game was rigged from the beginning. the host wanted to kill all of them and that the rest of them were working for each other!
so the host tries to kill lupin, and opens the safe box and lupin pops out of it to shoot him! how tf did he get there!

fujiko and sambo rush in a human-sized suitcase and hides in it, but sambo sadly doesn't make it in but lupin does. fujiko, thinking at first that lupin is sambo, is rather shocked to find out the contrary.
lupin tries to have sex with her but she knocks the case down to a mountain and escapes, and lupin falls 2000 feet down the mountain, where jigen and goemon are.

Omg yes I hate how twst does the whole “you lose even if you win cause plot”. It especially got to me in the Beans event and I almost stopped playing cause it was like an epic battle and the hardest fight in the game and when you finally win you’re like “yes omg I did it! I can’t wait to see the cool final battle it’s gonna be awesome and intense!”
And then it cuts to after the battle and they’re like “aww damn we lost” like???? You’re telling me not only did we fight for nothing WE DON’T EVEN GET TO SEE IT?? It’s soooo annoying
YEAH, like, why do I need to grind up my strength if it doesn’t matter?? The only fights you actually win are the boss fights. The STRONGEST CHARACTER OF THAT CHAPTER YOU BEAT BUT YOU CANT BEAT REGULAR FIGHTS??
Like I’m on book 4, I literally fought scarabi students six times and ended up ‘losing’ everytime even I beat them easily. Then I ended up at the Mastro Lounge, and Jade and Floyd protected me. Like, if I can’t ‘win’ a fight, why would I fight?
ALSO YEAH, WE LOSE BUT WE DONT SEE IT?? Like??? Wth, my cards aren’t weak I literally have everyone above level 40 and I use type advantages…
But also, I’m pissy about the events, this is the first one I’ve ever played (the stupid ghost bride one) and I hate the story it’s genuinely revolting. If genders were swapped everyone would be pissed but because it’s a male being abused by female, but that’s ok because the lil bitch that hit him is a woman? NO ITS NOT OK. ITS NOT FUNNY.
Everything about this event I’m hating, I’m not even interested in the cards I just collect things, but also, it’s annoying that I can’t ‘loop’ battles but I only get 2 event items a fight and the cheapest thing to buy cost 30, it’s tedious and done intentionally to make it harder to get said items so you don’t ‘finish’ the event before they are done posting it…
I stopped playing not long after the game came out because I always ‘lost’ and was constantly insulted and talked down to, even by my ‘friends’ which isn’t normal. Yes, some people playfully insult their friends but being called ‘A useless human’ is not playful. It’s also kinda bad because…that’s basically speciest since all the non humans say it…
I only recently started playing again souly bc I’m simping for have the cast…
Disney knows how to made cute/interesting creatures, but it seems like the didn’t plan for a player in the video game?? Cuz like?? You’re barely acknowledged. I know Jamil hypnotized me, and I know you can’t oppose him when he’s doing that so I was forced to say yes, why even give me the option if I’m already forced? Why give options if literally none of them matter?
Then there’s the issue of the jp version being for more updated then the English version and there’s quite a few bugs in the game and the AI isn’t the best.
I mainly enjoy the ‘lessons’ and ‘guest room’ which I can’t play bc I’m American…
I understand it needs to be translated, but…it took 3 years for them to even release an English adaptation…
Don’t get me started on the mirrors, I’m beyond pissed, gotta pull 100 shitty cards I already have for ONE ssr+? That makes no sense and I’m being punished?? For playing the game??? That’s the main way to get cards and it fucks you over for trying to get cards so you can play the damn game. At least obey gives you free pulls, the cheapest option is to pay actual money.
Disney is greedy, technically obey me is greedy to as they’ve had ‘pay to play’ things, buts not the only way, those exclusive cards for events. This? This is just regular ass cards, most of which are useless since the are the ‘starter’ cards…

hello mr.cabbage sir i am back with more splatooning except This Time i will tell you which mode I think the guys would main
Ranboo: Tableturf. it is So Silly and also not stressful i think he would love collecting the cards and building his own decks!!
Tubbo: SALMON RUN!! i think he gets annoyed when the weapon rotations are bad and so he simply will not play unless there’s weapons he likes. I think he’d be mid-to-high level, because he likes the challenge but isn’t super great working with random people.
Tommy: Turf War, it can be So Chill or So Aggressive there’s usually no inbetween. I would imagine his moral compass says no to spawn camping, but he will smash through everyone with ultra stamp. I think usually he loses due to not inking enough turf, but he gets like 15 kills per match. he also Never inks the base.
Dream: Turf War, spawn camper. Horrible team player and again does Not ink base. Doesn’t use his special very often even though he should, but miraculously has a decent winning streak.
Wilbur: Salmon Run, he probably sucks at it but he stays at a pretty low level so he still wins. He gets distracted by the salmonoids and doesn’t kill bosses until they are right on top of him, so usually he runs out of time to get Golden Eggs.
Techno: Anarchy Battles, basically Turf War but you’re betting on your points and rank. He’s probably nearing S-tier, and his favorite mode is Tower Control. Not sure what weapon he’d use but probably the H3-Nozzlenose, which he only plays because it’s hella underrated.
Thank you for your time 😛❗️
hello splatoon expert and and treasured mutual sappholopodding
i LOVE your asks about splatoon (/gen) because while i understand nothing about the game, your logic is flawless and your takes are incredibly based. totally agree that tubbo doesnt work well with random people... they dont Get what hes trying to do smh. also love that dream is a spawn camper while tommy has Morals. Beautiful Stuff. also wilburs made me laugh ty (assuming you were making the joke i thought you were lol)
ANYWAYS i want you to know that this is now in the upcoming chapter just for/because of you!
Tumblr media
thank you for your ask !!! i hope you're having a good timezone!

Massive Inscrpytion spoilers incoming
I have been obsessing over Daniel Mullens games (Inscrpytion, The Hex, Pony Island) and have so much to say about all three but the biggest thing I really love about Inscryption is the way it uses its own mechanics and balance as part of the narrative.
Part 1 starts off with Leshy's version of the game, which is both the most simplistic and least balanced. There are dozens of ways to absolutely break the game (ouroborus, squirrel totems, and the more puzzles you do, the more it gives you. )
This does three things:
It starts off the game by making the player feel clever, while actually its really just ushering them towards the real story.
It gives insight to Leshy as a character. While he's a huge nerd when it comes to atmosphere and storytelling, his ability to balance isn't the best, but thats not a concern for him. Both winning and losing are both equally valid endings to his story and beating him is meant to be a pyrrhic victory. The traveler stuck in his cabin is still at the mercy of the trickster god and his game isn't going to end at the first person to best him.
It establishes that "winning" the game isn't whats important, its unraveling the story hidden within. Theres two points where the pile of meat is used as a sort of "You're not as smart as you think" moment: Once when you beat Leshy and another when you use the storymode code to the safe in Kaycee's mod. "Good job you beat the 'game' now go actually solve the mystery" and "Good you remembered something from the story, thats not going to help you much here" respectively
Then you reach part 2, the "original" its a game made of intense compromise. Everyones ideas for mechanics in the game get equal footing. Unfortunately what this does is creates an overly complex mess of the game that is constantly introducing new mechanics in a way that makes it so that no one mechanic has any time to really be utilized to its fullest.
This also gives insight to Magnificus as a character. He's described as "Smart, always with a plan for everything."and is likely the mastermind behind the original inscryption. For him, its the perfect solution, everyone gets their mechanic in the game and the result is a game with a lot of depth to people who can wrap their heads around it. Like you really need to play through part 2 with the starting deck of each scribe to REALLY appreciate their mechanic because otherwise its spread so thin you get basically 4 fights before you have to learn another, and none of the mechanics are given the attention they deserve. Its a game that would likely scare off most new players as it dumps mechanic after mechanic on them. Thankfully for the actual game, the player just gone through a simplified version and can apply what they know from the from Leshy's game to the original inscryption (This is why Leshy the "Sacrifice" boss and Grimora the "Bone" boss are the first fightable bosses as both use mechanics the player is already familiar with)
Then comes PO3, his ultimate goal is "Get it into people's hands" so that the time they've spent imprisoned hasn't been for nothing. His version of the game is the most balanced out of the of the three, mechanically the best, everything else like story and art falls by the wayside. The only real way you can "break" his game is by using your own cards, which is the point. You can easily make an unbalanced card, but making one that is useful but not broken is the hard part which is what he's showing you by letting you make your own card.
Then you see Grimora's version. You dont really get to play it enough to really explore it to its fullest and thats the point. Erasing everything wasn't a decision she made lightly and you see exactly what shes giving up. Whatevers hidden within the OLD_DATA is so dangerous that shes making the decision to never let her version see the light of day despite all the work shes clearly put into it.
Then you meet Leshy again. Through the course of the story at this point he's gone from some sort of baba yaga-style boogieman to just some guy with a lot of really great ideas and a story to tell who just wanted a chance to share that with someone. YOUR life was never really in danger playing with him, those deathcards simply labeled each of your attempts at his game, and thats all it really was:A game. His last request is that you just sit with him for a few moments longer, playing his game and not even taking score any longer. Its also a great moment becuase its a little reminder that even though his version of Inscryption was the least mechanically sound, it was arguably the most memorable.
Then you have Magnificus's scene. As a side note, I love this scene of him going full mask-off about him being a huge yugioh nerd (especially as someone who grew up playing those yugioh gba games. If I was a symbolism nerd I'd say his section is symbolic of his own plan for the game: The four mechanics fighting with each other endlessly, neither side really making any progress until it just sort of ends abruptly. It also shows his own ignorance, despite portraying himself as the wise wizard, he has no real knowledge of the OLD_DATA becuase if he did, he would know that his game is not worth it.
We don't know what exactly is in the OLD_DATA but we know its BAD. I'm gonna be diving into some speculation here, but my personal interpretation so far is that Hex and Iscryption canonically connected through Gamefuna, and my belief is that there is another connection to Pony Island that just hasn't been made itself known yet.
What I know is Gamefuna was the company in the Hex and caused the events of that game AND Gamefuna was also the developer of Inscryption in-universe. Its not unreasonable to assume Gamefuna used the same tools to create Inscryption that they did to make all the other games they made in The Hex, and my theory the toolkit they used came from the same place Pony Island did. (Keeping things vague cuz I dont want to spoil the other games as well, but definitely recommend playing both for a deeper understanding of Inscryption)

[RUNS IN AND SLIPS ON A BANANA PEEL AND FALLS ON THE GROUND CARTOONISHLY]
HI!!!! Spooks here!! Ty for the answer! That did help me understand! And that sounds super interesting! I love Cassidy so much, au concepts about her are always very nice to see
I can't wait for the concept art you're gonna make :] very excited for that!!
Also, what are the other MCI kids (+ Charlie if she exists in this) doin'? Are any of them just as vengeful and angry as Cassidy? I wonder how that would go.. q-q. Also I wanna ask about if the Afton kids exist in this or not but I don't wanna overwhelm you ;-; I'm just veeeery curious because I love the afton kids
I love your au!!! But don't feel rushed to make that concept art!! Take care of yourself above all!!!
~spook
HI AGAIN SPOOKS!! TYSM FOR THE QUESTION!!
(Five Nights at Freddy’s is an indie horror game series created by Scott Cawthon)
Sorry that I didn’t answer this earlier I was taking a small break :))
SO, TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION!
In the Au I made each if the missing children their own boss level in the game, the others aren’t really as aware as Cassidy, nor do they know William is trapped in the game, their code only tells them what to expect and do for the level, as they fight against William. Freddy would have a tune section, step on the right keynotes of the piano when they light up, make a wrong step and thats one strike! Get three strikes and you’re out! For Chica it would be a Cooking challenge, mix the right ingredients, to make a pizza dough for chica! As the clock ticks, search for ingredients around the kitchen to find more items to finish of your pizza., consisting of toppings and pizza sauce, but as the timer gets closer to its end Chica gets more and more impatient. For Bonnie it would be a card game, I kinda like to imagine him as a character that is into board games! You will play a round, depending on how well you do or on how badly you mess up, if you beat him he will let you through, don’t be TOO arrogant once you win though, he doesn’t take sore winners well. And Foxy would have a treasure hunt! Search for his lost treasure of gold riches! But don’t be deceived things aren’t what they seem, if you see ruby gold necklaces DONT TOUCH THEM! They will alert nearby enemies.. oh yeah, I didn’t mention that you’re not alone did I? Little plushies of the crew may seem cute at first, but in reality are extremely dangerous! If you get hit you restart the maze all over and have to find enough treasure to satisfy Foxy yet again, luckily, you can’t exactly lose in his area, I guess it just seems to get extremely irritating doing everything OVER and OVER again! It’s kinda like, in their backstories. As they died they possessed the animatronics of the sections. And I actually didn’t add charlie in here, I may change this in the future but for now she is *poof* And yes, the Afton kids do exist in the au! Just, they have all seemed to have grown up and moved away! But you might hear somewhere that William did see them frequently, maybe they might get concerned when he all of a sudden stop visiting, and wont answer their calls..
Anyways thats all I got for ya so far, I hope that this helped!!
Im still planning on working on the concept sketches soon, but im still trying to get an idea of design and atm I can’t seem to really think of much.. but EVENTUALLY I will figure something out!
Ok thank you!!

cant describe it. maybe "foreign emotions" perhaps? if that makes sense
like i cant tell what these emotions are coming from. why do i feel like this? these emotions aren't me, and if they are they shouldn't be. i thought i would be feeling better with less stress on me but somehow i got way worse again. i don't get it at all, it's maddening.
why am i so sensitive? any sort of rejection has me spiral into some super negative thought even if it's minor and i don't get it. i can't stress the phrase enough. i've heard some say ohh it's a good thing but i don't see it that way. maybe it's that way in general with emotions. like it's okay to be sad or act out in this manner but i can't see it that way. no one ever in my life lets me be upset or gives me time for this. and that is a thing i can say wholeheartedly. it's not like a few individuals do, it very genuinely feels like NOBODY in this sad little life gives time for it. and if i express this, even less. so i don't see why i should be like that, atleast outwards. and i recover very fast, so even less.
maybe i do see why people become little sad sacks on the internet now. it's hard to understand the "14-17 year old who just watched serial experiments lain" types unless you get put in the mindset. those types are annoying, honestly, but i understand. it feels like "real life" outcasts you and makes you virtually nonexistent or too useless, but you can act as you want on the internet, so why remain connected with the real world? is that how the quote goes? i don't know. i didn't really like lain anyways lol.
it's just still very confounding. i know for a fact these emotions aren't mine. they aren't cq's nor [redacted]'s. the sensitivity? the ability to fuck everything up? the instability? these weren't, nor was ever me. it just begs the question of who the hell's feelings and mannerisms these are. this isn't like, a DID faker arc or whatever. it makes me just wonder who's body i am in sometimes. kinda. see, it's hard to explain. this sucks. just when i thought i was getting better from the first few months, it just keeps returning. i wish i could kill it
wow that was stupid. anyways if i still did for fun kinning i would be a really good mafuyu asahina kinnie. between the putting up a front (or rather, having to sometimes), good student, pressure to be 'normal' and do something successful, and the random vanishing and having a hard time trying to find who i am, and the "if i can't find myself, then i'll have to disappear" (implying suicide, now that i think abt it, but it goes both ways) in the unit story. or maybe mizuki. hmm, thats a hard choice. but i do genuinely resonate with mafuyu a lot it's kind of eerie. maybe it's just proves prsk did really good with writing the 25-ji, nightcode desu characters. yeah, that's what it is. good game. it's fun to play. marionette set cards solo. my favorite mafu cards are the marionette one and "thrown words." i forgot why i was writing now that i think about it. speaking of good games. card thief is also one. challenging but entertaining.
anyways stan 25ji. if you don't, whatever i don't care piss yourself its either this or band kid music

still fighting for the title of family disappointment. i think ill win. with the way im being (rightfully) criticized and put down everyday before being lectured right after being apologized to dont know how longer ill take it before i start seriously considering things.
sometimes i think there would be nothing better than completely vanishing because i contribute nothing to anybody ever in this life. running away would be nice in concept but awful in execution. so i wish something happens soon since ive already mentally prepared for it (well, only one scenario, by my own hand, but nonetheless.) it's like finally killing the final boss that's been plaguing the village or whatever. i dont know whats with me causing stress to the people who need it the least
ive realized ive been a horrible manipulative being this entire time because i keep pretending ive been wronged when i do nothing but cause active harm and me being dead would make things better actually. i used to be afraid of dying in my sleep randomly as a kid and no longer being able to think but now i think if i finally got pushed too far im not really attached to anything anymore anyways. its natural if i have already mentally prepared this i have also mentally prepared for total loneliness and thus this. nothing could really stop me if i finally complied and gave in. i can't imagine anyone being really sad over it, really. it's like the daughter of evil (vocaloid song) where they finally had enough and stood up to the evil princess and guillotined her. by the way that song fucks and it was one of my first vocaloid songs and im still fond of it
but also im lit rally a minor and i have a english project to complete tomorrow. and i'm really nowhere close to the breaking point so there is that. i need to be realistic by saying this im still being the awful person im aware of being

another day, another touhou post! i almost missed the deadline on this one (not that it really matters, the pace is gonna slow down a lot in a couple posts anyways once i catch up). today's game is a bit of a weird one!
nina's thoughts on Touhou 9 - Phantasmagoria of Flower View
PoFV is a pretty strange game. instead of being a single-player experience like most mainline touhou games, PoFV is a competitive 2-player danmaku vs game. there is still a 1-player story mode, but instead of 6 stages and boss fights each character has 8 versus matches against other characters tied loosely together into a storyline.
the gameplay is neat, its honestly impressive how well the concept of a competitive danmaku battle actually works and it feels pretty natural. as usual the screen fills up with enemies and bullets, but stages dont have defined patterns or moments, instead both players keep surviving through an increasing onslaught of bullets and spell cards until one slips up and takes too many hits. destroying enemies creates a small explosion around them that deals damage to nearby enemies and sends weak bullets in the range to the other player's screen. if you line it up right you can get some nasty chain reaction explosions that can clear up your screen and really put the pressure on your opponent. in addition you can put more direct pressure on the other guy by building up your spell meter, expending it to summon powerful bullet patterns or even your own character as a boss fight onto your enemys side. while at times it can get a bit ridiculous (the two 'villain' characters have completely broken spell cards and insanely good ai piloting) in general the gameplay is fair and pretty fun!
as a fighting game of sorts, PoFV naturally has a rather large character roster, a total of 14 playable characters! we have the returners in Reimu, Marisa, Sakuya, Youmu, Reisen, Cirno, Lyrica, Mystia, Tewi, and Aya. Then we have 4 characters new to this game: Medicine, Yuuka, and the 'villains' of the story Komachi and Eiki Shiki. each character has different stats, shot types, zone shapes, and spell attacks, which makes for a lot of variety in the roster.
to try and unlock everything i beat the story mode for all 12 choices (Komachi and Eiki Shiki don't have a story mode). i didn't aim for 1cc's since the game doesn't differentiate whether you used a continue or not, but a couple of the runs happened to be done without continues: Marisa, Mystia, Aya, Medicine, and Yuuka. i dont remember enough about all the different characters bullets and stats to say that i really prefer any over the others, tbh if i were to play more i would probably just pick a character based on vibes alone. Marisa is my go-to generally, but im also partial to Cirno, Mystia, and Aya.
for the four new characters, theyre cool. Yuuka is probably my favourite solely because she gets a lot of cute art with Wriggle lol. for some reason the fandom is very split on whether Yuuka is an angry masochist or a lonely but wholesome flower lady. i think shes realistically somewhere in the middle. Medicine is also a neat concept, being an abandoned doll in a field of poisonous flowers who came to life through raw poisonous energy. Komachi is goofy, shes basically the grim reaper of Gensokyo but shes also really lazy and always slacking off, pretty much every singleplayer storyline involves her getting caught snoozing by her boss Eiki Shiki. Eiki Shiki herself is probably the weakest new character imo, its funny watching her judge all the characters supposed sins, but its really all she talks about, and her annoying fight isnt winning her any points for me.
PoFV is certainly a weird outlier in the series, but i think the gameplay does genuinely work pretty well! the idea of making a competitive bullet hell is so out there and they really put in the work to make it happen.
as always, thanks for reading! and if, somehow, someone is reading this who is remotely decent at touhou and wants to try playing the 2-player mode of this game with me, Please get in contact with me through whatever means works for you. i would love to give this a shot against an actual human.
