Keep seeing that post where OP starts like 'Thinking about...grieving the undead' and then adds on about like. Real life situations where people have not died but have left your life and you would have reason to grieve them.
All respect, that's an important concept, but that is not what I am thinking about when I read 'grieving the undead'.

Bloodlust provoked his every instinct, he was insatiable for more, deliriously hungry for each drop of mortal essence; Stefan, as he had become yet again, growled through his stained fangs, observing the sounds that renegaded through his sensitive ears. He could hear a heart beating, and that in itself set him in overdrive as he lurked in the house of his victim, prepared to devour whomever had entered the derelict residency that he had already satiated. The scent the new comer carried was familiar, like a candle lit in the cold weather of fall, sitting atop of the tables in the grill, brewing away its cinnamon induced scent through the devised wick that was burning with a sunset hue flame.
“Stefan.” His humanity was off, and in this moment of his face being strewn with his delicious sin, he cared not for the label that pitiful humans knew him by. He was not a person, he was a creature of bad intent, desiring nothing more than rip into another living organism and drain it for every ounce of which it was worth. With the back of his hand, he wiped the crimson residue from his lips, soon licking them after as he chased after the echo, plodding down the steps with a full stomach that was screaming for more plentiful satisfaction. A stake of wood flew into the apex of his shoulder as he reached the bottom step, he cared not in regards to the pain that blossomed in the area of impact; he felt nothing, especially towards the shooter. Her face coiled at the sight of him dressed in the spillage of his appetite, his clothes were drenched in blood, she could smell the putrid stench from where she stood.
“If it isn’t y/n. Pretty little naive y/n, chasing after the big bad vampire. Is the thrill fun? I’m sure the pounding of your heart sends such sensations down to your cunt, doesn’t it little hunter? I guess Jeremy’s stake just isn’t big enough to give you what you really want.” He was toying with y/n as though she were his prey, and it would be no surprise if that were the case; she had seen the trail of massacre that he had left in his wake, that was how she had found him. Of course she had gone against everyone’s wishes to uncover his whereabouts and tread lightly in his chaotic footsteps, Damon had been hellbent on stopping her, being well aware of all that his brother was capable of. This wasn’t his brother, it was a serial killer, a ripper that loved nothing more than to adjourn every life form he encountered into one of his many names on his wall.
“I’m here to stop you, and get Stefan back. Cut the chit chat unless we’re gonna get down into the deep talks of your mummy and daddy issues.” Y/n whirled her grasp around her gun which contained bullets that were laced with vervain; she had spent much time in a dingy hotel room making them, preparing for this very moment where they came face to face. And his face made her feel sick to her stomach, it was clustered with liquid roots from inside multiple bodies, the evidence of his slaughter doing nothing more than possibly foreshadowing soon that she was to be painted on his face amidst the murder that was already sprayed across the palette.
His eyes were humorously dark and bloodshot as he dared to step another inch closer; y/n’s finger shot to dance over the trigger, sufficing her threat right before his malevolent features. “I do like to be called daddy if that’s what you’re asking; perhaps you should keep that in mind for later when I eat you.” If y/n ever heard normal average Stefan say such things, she’d have laughed at the concept, throwing her head back and not caring if she was bearing her neck to his exquisite vision. However, Stefan was deprived of all personality, he was a walking conductor of life, taking it where he pleased, and affirmatively having a decline in consequences for any result that he snatched.
“You’re funny, I’m hysterical from you threatening my life.” Y/n rolled her eyes in his presence, Stefans face turning stoic from her dry sarcasm. “But we both know that when you flip the switch back on, every single thing that you have done is going to come back rolling in waves, and you know exactly what that’s like, you’ve been here before, as well as drowned when you were cast into that safe. So do us all a favour and let it out Salvatore, it’s going to save a lot more blood shed.” Sneering at the words that y/n proposed, he whiplashed closer to her, taking her off guard as he pinned her strictly against the wall, his fangs seething in front of her eye line as he pushed her hair over her shoulder, feeling her veins pulse beneath his criminal fingertips.
“I’m going to send you to heaven and back, but I’m not going to kill you little hunter. I’m going to leave you here as a reminder for Alaric and Jeremy to abandon their hunt on me, and well, I’m going to be constantly on your mind afterwards.” He tucked his hands in the loops of y/n’s belt and beneath as he dismissed her daggers to the ground, throwing them so they raced away from her feet, pressing his chest against hers, his lips tantalisingly brushing against her cheek and dragging a smear of red along the natural structure of her face. It made her cringe, she gulped as she thought about Jeremy and how he’d react if she were to give into the seduction of the vampire. As that thought surpassed her mind, it was as though Stefan could read her mind as he pressed his lips to her tense occupation of roots at your hair line, and whispered deviously. “He doesn’t have to know y/n, no one does. It can be our little secret.”
She couldn’t say that the offer wasn’t vastly tempting, though you didn’t want to give into his sensual whim. If y/n did she couldn’t even blame the aggravation of compulsion, as she had a river of potent vervain coursing through all chambers of her body, and Stefan was aware of that, not only could his nose burn lightly from the derived scent that whisked up the passage of his nostrils, but he had watched her digest food and water containing it in the past, she had even had gone so far as injecting it into her bloodstream as a method to take all possible precautions. She was practically a bomb ready to blow in his looming presence, a temptation that would bring him to his demise. He remembered how there was an ache tormenting his dead stone heart when he watched y/n and Elena’s little brother grow into more than friends, but now he felt nothing, if he so much wished he could take y/n without feeling an ounce of regret, and that was what his damned demeanour planned to do.
“And what about how you’re going to feel after this shell of emotional protection smashes from around you, and you crumble and reflect on how I took advantage of you. I don’t want that on my conscience; nor do I want to be seen as the monster after you stop being one. That is what I’ll know, what I did, how I betrayed not only Jeremy but the real you. I’d rather you not stare at me with disgust every time you see me when things return to normal, because I can assure you that they will, I’d rather not hate myself because of you.” Gritting her teeth against one another, she fought back with all she could; words. Weapons were of no use to her now, she was trapped between a deterred vampire that and a stiff wall, it was an impossible escape. Everything that she could have used had been stolen from her cusp, Alaric, her teacher, would be so disappointed in her lack of continuing spite.
“It’s would be a mutual expense of taking advantage of each other.” Stefan corrected y/n, tipping her chin up to face him with the pad of his index finger, tapping on the spot in which he had used as leverage afterwards. “And little old me, goody two shoes Stefan has always liked you Stefan, this would merely be fulfilling one of my past fantasies and bringing it to a realistic light. Perhaps I’d be as good in the sack as you perceived I was in your diary, that was an accident that I read that part, it was back when you went missing at the end of senior. But I not only found you through that but what you want me to do to you, and boy, if I were you I’d already hate myself.” He used his infamous ripper tactic, stripping a woman down from the confidence that she held, and it was working as he heard y/n take in a sharp breath, and he took that as his chance to put his hands on her waist, noticing how her breath continued to hitch, as he grasped either side of her shirt, and tore it from her body, revealing her display of flesh that had him licking his lips.
It was quite the sight, her breasts balanced in the bra as she ogled up at him; it was on a crossroad between a glare and a yearn for more, though it was clear that she was not fighting back as she allowed her hands to fall loosely at her sides. Stefan had defeated each vessel of preparation that she had carried with her, and now y/n was defenceless. His hands next danced over the waistband of her jeans, as he jingled with her belt until it smacked on the ground, making the poor little lamb that was at his mercy jump from the sudden noise. “You may hate yourself but I can tell that you don’t hate this. I can smell you soaking through your panties, and my, it is quite the aroma. And I did say that I would eat you.” As he descended to his knees and pulled her trousers with him, he realised that her eyes were flickering between him and the weapons that were scattered upon the old wooden flooring, if she wanted y/n could send her knee into his face and crawl to grasp one.
But it appeared that the old entry in her diary remained true as she kicked her shoes and the bottoms she wore off from around her ankles, changing her gaze to subject to him alone. Stefan reeled his hands around her calves, ascending them as he rubbed his eager nose against her hidden bud, reprising a bite of the lip from the huntress above him. God, did she smell captivating, like a spring morning whence the flowers bloomed and sent their seeds into the tall grass. He chose to rip the fabric that tightly wrapped around her ass and other areas too, aware of how much she would be humiliated when Jeremy and Alaric finally caught up with her, not only would they find out that she hadn’t managed it save Stefan nor the people that lived in the house, but they would see her fabricated in nothing more than that housed the courteous ladies if he didn’t decide to ruin that garment too. They’d know of what they did together, and Jeremy would see how much better her body reacted to Stefan than him.
“Do something Salvatore, or I swear that I’ll get a stake from my trunk and fuck myself with it.” That sounded like an interesting rouse of which he’d like to see, but he couldn’t deny himself for any longer, he had to taste all that y/n had to offer. He leant forwards and latched his mouth onto her dripping cunt, his fangs prodding either side of his labia to remind her of what he was rather than who. Sounds spilled from her lips as her hands clawed at the wall, not wanting to mess his locks up even if he was no longer sporting what she used to call his ‘hero hair’. It didn’t matter, none of it, nothing did - in this moment all that was reeling through her mind was how good his tongue felt as he pleasured her with it, running it around her entrance until he slipped it inside. Now that was one place he didn’t need an invitation to be, though if he did, then she’d happily give it to him. All those disgraceful thoughts in what she liked to call her set of ‘vampire diaries’ had been correct the whole time, Stefan could digress above and beyond with the experience in the bedroom that he had had in the last century, it was certainly no let down.
“Stefan, I’m going to cum.” She was right about him being a careless monster as he separated his face away from between her eyes that were now stained with the intentional blood from his victims, she whined as he parted from her, a deep chuckle riveted from his chest as he licked his lips, rather pleased himself from the flavour that he had delved into head first, literally. Y/n was about to cause more of a scene in regards to her denied orgasm, but as her eyes carded over Stefan’s large hands, she realised that he was releasing his hard shaft from the confines of his trousers, and she was amazed at the length that he had hidden away so well beneath his clothing. It was large and red and throbbing, and she wanted to inhabit the devices of a vampire and suck it dry, but she had no control as Stefan took himself in hand and pressed his body against his own, stifling his height down a little so that he could easily slide the tip of his cock across your drenched cunt, and eventually push in.
Hands belonging to the huntress found their way onto the ripper’s bouldering shoulders, she was well aware that there was a tattoo beneath the material on his right arm, but she lost that track of thought as his tongue swiped up her neck, pushing the rest of his length into her as she keened into his strong chest. He hardly waited a moment for her adjust as he established a pace; it wasn’t sweet and caring as she had once premised the image of how Stefan would bed a lady would be, instead it was brash and rushed as his hips acted as piston, hammering his sufficient cock in and out of her stubborn walls that were attempting to absorb him in one place. “Always knew you’d be so tight, guess I was right about your Gilbert boy.” The mention of Jeremy had y/n swallowing down the feeling of vomit as she shook him free of her imposing thoughts, attuning all of her devotion onto this momentous occasion with the man that she had grown affectionate towards.
To know that he had felt the same and now he was using her as nothing more as a directory to get off stung a little, but she gulped it down, a moan fragrantly abandoning her well bitten lips as Stefan’s fingers pinched at her clit, toying with it beneath the hood and deriving insane sensations to render through her body. “I’m going to cum Stefan. Shit- I’m so close.” The crown of her head jested back against the wall, and Stefan’s vein rooted eyes drew in on her neck, but he had to remain sensible, otherwise he would be caught. But he couldn’t help himself, not as he simultaneously sunk his teeth into you and came inside of you, both actions triggering your orgasm to flutter around his length. A poisonous burn afflicted his gums as he pulled away, a mixture of steam and blood composing from his mouth. Luckily Stefan hadn’t torn off her bra, and this, as y/n caught her breath, she took out a small injection that was filled with vervain, and stabbed it into his own neck, getting revenge as he crashed to the ground. Now it was time to call Alaric and Jeremy and let them know that she had for once and for all caught the ripper, and better yet, proved them wrong.

okay, i’ll bite (18+)
Chapter Summary: (Modern AU) Your friend convinced you to accompany them to a Halloween party and you run into the guy who scowled at you the first time you tried to say hello to him. In spite of his standoffishness you couldn't help developing a small crush on him.
Pairing: Crosshair/Reader (GN), Crosshair/You
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Drinking (only a little and reader is sober again before anything happens), Intense making out, Biting, (1) Suggestive comment
Word Count: 2.4k
A/N: Happy Halloween to everyone who participates!! This fic wasn’t planned at all and I wrote it in under a span of 24 hours lmao I’m a big fan of anything vampire-related and an idea with Crosshair hit me randomly so I just decided to go for it. I would’ve tried to make it flat-out spicy, but I didn’t have enough time to flesh that out, oops. I did end up making a short playlist to accompany this though. It’s party tunes/songs that just fit the vibe :)
Read on ao3
The encounter wasn't planned at all. Showing up at the same Halloween party was merely just a coincidence. You barely even knew the guy and had only run into him a handful of times. The first time you said hello, all he did was scowl at you and walk away, leaving you feeling a little disgruntled.
The next time was a bit better, if only for the fact that he seemed less harsh because he was out with his brothers. They introduced themselves to you and unsurprisingly, he didn’t say a word, but you learned that his name was Crosshair. The next time you ran into him alone, there was only a subtle nod of his head in greeting to you before he walked off again, but it had you feeling giddy the rest of the day.
Clearly he wasn't a people person so it was surprising that he was even here. What's even more is that he looked so good even from afar that it had your stomach fluttering with nervousness. Maybe you did have a tiny crush on him in spite of how standoffish he seemed.
You were standing in a corner in the wide, open living room with a drink in your hand—the only one you'd be having tonight—as you watched the friend you'd come with chatting with one of Crosshair's brothers across the room. The one with the glasses, Tech, you noted. You snorted into your drink at the sight, but found it endearing as the both of them seemed to be engaged in a very exciting conversation.
Music played over the TV speakers and it wasn't as loud as the few parties you'd reluctantly agreed to come to before, thank goodness, but you knew it would get a little too much soon enough. Thankfully, there was a little balcony at the end of the hall on the second floor that you'd found when you'd arrived earlier while looking for the bathroom. It looked like the best place to go to take a breather. You watched as Tech said something that was apparently funny and your friend let out a laugh. You smiled at them and then took another sip from your cup.
"And what are you supposed to be?" came a voice from beside you and you almost choked on your drink, sputtering into your cup.
You quickly wiped your mouth and looked to your left. It was him. Your eyes widened and you didn't answer at first, but then he raised an eyebrow at you and your brain finally caught up.
"Oh, um. Plague doctor." you set your cup down on the accent table next to you and pointed at your mask sitting there.
He hummed in what sounded like approval and you felt your face get warm. He turned his gaze to the crowd of people, crossing his arms and you looked at him. He wasn't dressed extravagantly, honestly at first glance you couldn't even tell if he was wearing a costume. He still looked so good in all black though.
Black coat, black turtleneck, black jeans, black boots and fingerless gloves. He had even painted his nails the same color. But what really got you and made you feel weak in the knees were the fangs that peeked out from his mouth when he opened it up to talk. You were so caught up in staring at him that you startled when he turned to you again. Something flashed in his eyes too quick for you to catch.
"Those two," he inclined his head over to Tech and your friend, "will somehow end up with each other’s phone numbers by the end of the night."
You chuckled to hide your nervousness and turned to look at them, "Probably. I think it's sweet though."
You felt his eyes on you, but you didn’t turn back around to see what kind of expression he wore. The song currently playing ended and the next one amped up the already jovial mood in the room. You saw your friend drag Tech over to where other people were already dancing and singing along and you laughed quietly at the sight. You could’ve sworn you heard a breathy chuckle from Crosshair behind you, but you weren’t sure.
All of a sudden, your friend spotted you and just from the look in their eye you knew what was coming. They made their way over to you and your eyes widened in slight panic.
“No, no, n—” you started protesting.
“C’mon! You have to dance to at least one song with me while we’re here okay?” they said.
You felt yourself being pulled by the hand and you glanced back at Crosshair for any kind of help, but you only saw a smirk and then he disappeared from your line of view. Your friend dragged you over to where Tech currently was in midst of all the dancing people and as soon as he saw your friend again his face lit up. He greeted you politely over the music when he saw you next them and you returned it. Your friend suddenly grabbed both of you by the arm and started singing at the top of their lungs. Then they busted out some moves you got secondhand embarrassment from. Tech only laughed, somehow endeared by it and then proceeded to join in albeit much more restrained.
The next few minutes were a blur, but you were loathe to admit that you enjoyed it. By the end you were more than exhausted though, you needed to get away now. You probably wouldn’t be joining in on anything else for the rest of your time here, but you didn’t think anyone one would notice if you slipped out and up to the upstairs balcony. You went to the kitchen first for some water, but you didn’t exactly trust the cases of bottles in there so you opted for a plastic cup and some sink water. It was better than nothing at least.
You made your way upstairs as inconspicuously as possible and the music faded to a low, muffled hum. You walked down the hall and opened the door to the balcony, leaving it cracked just a bit as you sat down on the bench.
The view was lovely, it overlooked the woods behind the house and it was a full moon tonight so the glow of it settled at the perfect angle over you. You inhaled the cool night air and closed your eyes, finally decompressing a bit as you heard a chorus of crickets and the occasional hooting of an owl from the woods. You sipped on your water and gradually felt a little better a short while later as the tipsiness you’d felt before wore off. Although that could’ve just been the high you'd gotten from dancing.
As you sat there, your mind drifted back to Crosshair. Your stomach fluttered again at the mere thought of him. God, you definitely had it bad now. You wondered where he’d gone, you didn’t see him at all during or after the song ended. Not that you’d been looking for him the whole time, of course. The idea of him having already left though made your heart twinge a bit.
You closed your eyes and sighed. Suddenly the door to the balcony creaked and you yelped, turning around in your spot. Your face felt warm again when you saw the subject of your thoughts step through the door.
You cleared your throat and greeted him, “Hi, again.”
He eyed you before walking forward and holding out something to you. Your mask.
“You left it downstairs.” he said.
You reached out a hand to take it back and your fingers brushed his. Your breath hitched a bit and you hoped it wasn’t noticeable.
“Thank you.” you managed to get out and he nodded.
“...How did you know I was up here?” you asked.
“I saw you walk up the stairs.”
“Oh.” you said dumbly.
He surprised you with a huff of amusement and the corners of his lips turned turned up slightly. Your whole body started feeling warm despite the chill in the air and it was at that moment that you felt a surge of spontaneity.
“Do you want to sit out here with me?” you asked him and his eyebrows furrowed as he continued to stare you.
“I mean, it's okay if you don't..." you trailed off as he left the balcony door cracked and hesitantly sat next to you on the bench.
To your surprise, he immediately pulled a toothpick out of his pocket and stuck it in his mouth. He crossed his arms over his chest again and stared up at the full moon. The initial nervousness of being near him had worn off and you closed your eyes as you lifted your head up towards the sky again.
“I forgot to say something about it earlier, but I like your costume.” you said as you opened your eyes again.
“It wasn’t my idea. If it weren’t for my brothers and their incessant attempts, I wouldn’t have come.” he said.
“I’m not one for parties myself, but my friend insisted too. If it weren’t for them I’d be doing my own thing at home. Alone.” you replied.
There was a brief pause and the wind whistled through the trees in a peaceful way.
"I'm glad that I did now." he spoke.
You turned to him abruptly and your eyes widened at how soft his expression was. It was a side of him you wished you could see more of in the future. If he'd let you.
"You know how you said Tech and my friend would end up with each other’s phone numbers by the end of the night?" you asked.
"Yes." he replied.
You looked down at your lap, suddenly feeling nervous again.
"How would you answer if I asked if we would end up with each other’s phone numbers by the end of the night?" you fiddled with your cloak as you waited anxiously for an answer.
Suddenly you felt his hand guide your chin up to look at him and then let go.
"My answer would be...yes." he replied and your heart beat so fast as you looked at him.
Overcome with a sudden impulse, you leaned forward without thinking and pressed your lips to his. You pulled back almost immediately as you realized.
"Wait, I didn't mean—I'm sorry—that was too forward of m—"
There was the gentle clatter of his toothpick hitting the ground and your panicked words were silenced as his hand reached out to cup your cheek, pulling you towards him.
He captured your lips with his own and you whimpered in relief. His hand moved from your cheek and settled on the side of your neck as he gently took your bottom lip between his and bit down. The fake fangs added extra pressure, but you weren't complaining at all. You moaned a little louder than you'd meant to and immediately felt a little self-conscious, but Crosshair only responded with one of his own and proceeded to kiss you harder, adding a little tongue here and there.
He felt so good on you and you eagerly returned his enthusiasm. Your arms rested over his shoulders and his free hand moved to your other cheek as the one on your neck wrapped around your waist, pulling you even closer.
His lips started to trail down from the corner of your mouth, to your cheek, behind your ear—which you shuddered at and gripped him tighter in response—and finally to your neck.
You moaned as his lips and tongue trailed wet kisses all over it and his fake fangs dragged wonderfully across your skin. Then he paused and you thought he was about to pull away before you felt just the slightest bit of pressure of his teeth and the fangs your neck. He made an inquisitive noise and you responded with another loud moan to make it quite clear how much you liked that. You felt him smirk against your skin before biting down again with a little more pressure and you shivered in his arms.
He switched between kissing, licking and biting and you were now very aware of how aroused you both were. Through the lustful fog you remembered your current setting, but you didn’t want him to stop. You grasped at him desperately, moaning loudly again as he bit down hard once more and then he kissed your neck softly before trailing back up to your lips.
This one was sweet. There was no urgency to it and his hand rested on your neck again, gently stroking over the marks he'd made with his thumb. Unfortunately, he eventually started to pull away from you and you let out a whine of protest to which he chuckled at. You both panted as you separated and you opened your eyes to see him smiling slyly at you. You laughed and looked down at your lap trying to process what just happened.
You heard him shuffle around for something in his coat and you gazed up at him, still dazed, as he presented his unlocked phone to you.
"Your number." he reminded you, "if you still want to give me it, that is."
You blinked and then shuffled around in your pockets underneath the cloak to present him with your own.
"Yes." you said hastily.
You exchanged numbers and then sat in comfortable silence for a while longer. This was so much more than you'd imagined happening tonight, but you were glad that your friend convinced to come with them. Your shoulders brushed against each other and you tried subtly leaning a bit more into his side. The subtly was unneeded, especially considering the makeout session that literally just occurred.
His arm wrapped around your waist again and his fingers stroked your side. The wind picked up once more, rustling leaves and whistling through the trees. There was a sudden crash that came from downstairs and you flinched a little, while Crosshair went rigid.
"Sounds like the party's over now." he observed.
You made a noise of agreement, but inside you—ironically—didn't want to leave just yet. To your disappointment, Crosshair retracted his arm from around your waist and stood up. When you didn’t do the same, he held his hand out to you, palm up.
"Come on, we'll have plenty of time to continue what happened in the future." he told you and your face felt warm again.
You held your hand out as you stood up from the bench and he enveloped it in his own before tugging you along. You tightened your hand around his, as you both walked back into the house. Crosshair's words settled pleasantly into your mind.

Klaus: Love & Power
A//N: I’ve been gone for a LOOONG minute. But I have good news about it.
I MADE THE DEANS LIST!
Winter qtr of college was a little difficult but it was the best I’ve ever done in school. Such good news right!?
Anyway, this qtr I have a little stricter schedule, which means I knew specially when I can write. And I had been.
GET READY!
& enjoy!
xx Karebear 💛🧸
Tumblr media
Yours and Klaus’s love story seemed far fetched for most people but for those who were able to experience your connection grow into an immense amount of love for each other, would say otherwise. You became his world, alongside with Hope. In his mind, after he was able to curse Hayley and the werewolves in the bayou, he had the perfect life. His two great loves under his roof, under his sole protection. You would never agree to what Klaus has done, but nonetheless you love him. He’s the complete opposite of your previous partners in more ways than that. You understood him, through and through. You knew him like the back of your hand, you know his next move before he does.
You were holding Hope in your arms as you walked along the bookshelf trying to get her to sleep, but all the effort was about to go to waste when Klaus comes barging in panting about to rage about gods knows what.
But before he could begin you raised a warning hand, “Don’t you dare wake her!” You whisper shouted at him. He instantly stops dead in his tracks.
Once his breathing normalizes he sits down on the couch, “The witches are siding with Marcel against me, they want my crown.”
You walked over to him, handing off his sleepy daughter to him. “You don’t need to be everyone’s king. You have all that you need with Hope and I, right?” You asked shyly.
He looks down to a sleeping Hope, then he looks back up to you before nodding his head.
“Maybe you should just give them New Orleans?”
Klaus sighed before standing up, “I should put her to bed, it’s late.” Klaus avoided your advice, walking off to Hope’s bedroom.
After a few minutes of contemplating whether you want to still be here when Klaus comes back or not. If you stay, you’ll more than likely have to sit there listening to him rant about this losing battle. If you leave, you can avoid all of that.
With no incentive to stay, you grabbed your things and made your way out of the compound.
As you walked down the steps you notice a disheveled Elijah. He sat on an almost broken chair, drinking liquor out of a broken bottle. The entire ground floor is basically destroyed, broken tables, chairs, artwork, glasses and everything in between.
“Who in the Hades did you fight today?” You gasped at the sight, oddly enough no bodies were to be found. Blood could be seen splattered all around.
“Y/n, my apologies for the mess, I seem to have taken it a bit too far.” Elijah stands, setting the bottle on a table. In mere seconds the table caves in, shattering the bottle on the ground.
Elijah tried to fight the smile off his face, but it only grew twice in size.
You laugh at his reaction, soon Elijah bursts into laughter as well. As you descended down the rest of the steps, Elijah explains how some of his sires became a threat to the rest of his family.
“Therefore I sent them a message, ‘come after my family, I will come after you.’ It’s what this family does best.” Elijah explains as he begins cleaning up the broken furniture as you stood on the last step listening to him.
“Violence begets violence, this family of yours lives in a cycle of violence.” You sighed, crossing your arms across your chest. You sounded almost defeated.
“You speak like it’s your final efforts dealing with the dramatics of my family, why is that?” he asked, noticing how fed up you are.
“I love Klaus and I love Hope, but...” You shake your head, holding yourself back.
Elijah stopped cleaning, “No, no, please don’t hold yourself back now. If there is anything this family is in dire need of, it’s your brutal honesty. Please continue.”
You sighed, “It’s just... no matter how hard life gets for him, he will not give up the one thing that brings most of this unwanted violence.”
As you spoke Elijah had come to the same realization as you, his face fall into a slight frown as he listened to you.
“After all this heartbreak and sorrow brought upon your family, you’d imagine he would at least hand over some of the reigns. But no, the mighty Klaus Mikaelson has to be King of everyone.” You talked without any reservations on the topic, eventually your tone became stern and cold.
“I know my brother can be a lot, he wants the perfect life for Hope. You can't blame him for that.” Elijah speaks with some regret, they're problematic past on his mind.
“I love that man but at some point I have the face the truth, there’s nothing more that he loves than power.” You almost choked on your words, first time saying them out-loud was harder than you thought.
Without another thought you gather your composure and hurried your way to the exit, “I should go.”
Elijah opened his mouth as he was going to say something but was speechless. There wasn’t something he could say that would fix what you were feeling. After some short time has passed Elijah had managed to get the ground floor back to its glory.
Meanwhile Klaus sat in Hope’s nursery all night, just watching her sleep. He kept thinking about what you had said; giving up New Orleans. How would he be okay with giving everything back to Marcellus?
Klaus hadn’t realized that he had been there all night until the sun rises and began to beam into the room. Letting Hope sleep, he finally leaves her room quietly. He walked around the house in search of you but much to his surprise, you weren’t in bed or the kitchen or even the study. You never came back.
Elijah walks into the study behind Klaus, “Hope’s still sleeping?”
“Have you seen Y/n? She never came home last night.” Klaus asked, worry evident in his voice.
“Not since last night when she left, you had a fight.” Elijah states which only angers Klaus.
“Were you eavesdropping on us last night?” He began to raise his voice, Elijah simply looked at his younger brother with a stern look.
Smirking at Klaus, “I had a conversation with Y/n on her way out, that is all.”
Klaus wanted nothing more than to chase you down and talk but Hope started crying meaning she’s awake. First Klaus tends to his daughter, contemplating on what to do with the situation at hand.
He knows you love him with everything that you are, but letting go of this city was something he didn’t think he’d every have to do again.
As soon as night falls, Freya comes to watch over Hope while Klaus goes out looking for you.
You sat in the lycée with Davina, she performed a cloaking spell on you to stay hidden for a while. She practiced different spells, continually getting up for different plants or herbs for said spells.
“I never would have thought that the city of the dead would be this... peaceful.”
“It’s a great place to help think, maybe soon you’ll start telling me why you need to hide from your own boyfriend.” Davina laughs slightly as she walks back to you with different colored potion bottles in her hands.
“Klaus needs to be King of New Orleans, I just need to finally accept that as one of his personality traits.” You sighed, setting down whatever witch instrument you had been playing with.
“A guy like Klaus means there is no changing him. Take the time that you need to sort your feelings, I’m meeting up with Josh. No one should come through here.” Davina gathered her things and walked out to go with her vampire friend.
Hours pass and soon it would be night, your thoughts ran wild. You love Klaus with every cell in your body, you could die loving him and it'd be a worth while life. So maybe him being the King of New Orleans is something to fight for. You’ve loved him when he's at his worst, so why can’t you love him when he’s fighting to stay King.
Coming to the realization that no matter where or what Klaus is doing, you’ll love him and want to be with him. Almost immediately you made your way out of the Lafayette Cemetery and straight to the Mikaelson compound.
After a few hours, Klaus lost hope in finding you before you wanted to be found. He went back to his daughter to wait for your return, running into Elijah at the enterance.
“Anything?” Klaus asked him, almost pleading with his eyes for some good news.
Elijah shook his head, “I didn’t want to mention this but, brother maybe she's not coming back.”
“Why on earth would you say such things?” Klaus asked before looking over to Elijah who wore a guilty expression. “Unless she said something?”
They slowly began to make their way inside the fortress, “Our chat last night, she mentioned that you might desire power more than you desire love.”
Klaus stopped dead in his tracks, there you were standing in front of Freya who was holding Hope.
Once you noticed the brothers enter the room you began apologizing for basically vanishing out on him. “I am so sorry, I needed time to figure out my stupid feelings.”
Klaus walked straight to you, pulling you into his embrace. Freya and Elijah looked to each other, making their way elsewhere to give you and Klaus some privacy.
When he pulled away he held your hands in his, “Your feelings are never stupid. There is nothing I love more than you and Hope. I’m sorry I made you feel that way, it was never my intention. I don’t need to be King.”
Your eyes go wide and you furrow your eyebrows, “No, no, I was wrong. I know why you have to be King. It’s okay, really. I know that everything you do is for those who you love.”
Klaus smiled down at you, “I do love you, do not forget that.”

Walking on the shore of La Push, you spotted your small group of friends. Smiling, you hurriedly made your way towards them.
“Y/N!” Seth greeted full of excitement. Pulling you in for a bone-crushing hug, he lifted you off of the group before twirling around.
The air became filled with the sound o your squeals.
“Put the poor girl down,” Leah spoke rolling her eyes at her brother.
Placing you back on your feet, giggles fell from your lips. Turning your attention back towards the group, you greeted each of your friends, before standing beside Jacob, as he placed an arm over your shoulders.
“What’d I miss?” You questioned gazing at Sam, who held an unhappy expression.”
Shaking his head, Sam hadn’t bothered to fill you in on what they were previously chatting about.
“Let’s go.” Sam spat, jerking his head in the direction of the forest behind him.
“But-”
Before you could argue, Jacob sighed before he retreated without another word along with the rest of your friends.
Frowning, tears threatened to fall down your cheeks. Your mind became clouded with the thought of having done something wrong.
Shaking your head, you made your way back to the beat-up truck your dad had given you when you moved to Forks.
---
“I...I think he’s hiding something from me.” You frowned as you gazed out of the cafe window.
Angela sat across from you offering you a look of sympathy. “There’s just something’s that are better to be left alone.”
You scoffed, crossing your arms on the table as you gazed around the small cafe. Your gaze fell upon a familiar pair of eyes. Locking eyes, you raised an eyebrow.
“I’ll be right back.” You spoke standing up promptly, not waiting for her to respond.
Making your way towards the table, the feeling of uneasiness washed over you.
“Fancy seeing you here. Mind if I sit?” You questioned motioning towards the unoccupied seat in front of him.
“Please,” Edwards responded, nodding slightly.
An awkward silence fell between you.
“How’s Jacob?” He questioned in an annoyed voice.
Frowning, you dropped your gaze to the table in front of you. “He’s good...I think. I...I haven’t seen much of him lately.”
“That’s a shame.” He spat taking a drink from his cup.
You rolled your eyes in response. Sighing, you shook your head. “I should go.” “Wait,” Edward spoke grasping your wrist preventing you from leaving. “Why don’t we do something.”
You scoffed. “I should get back to Angela.”
“She seems to be preoccupied at the moment.” He smirked jutting his chin out towards her.
Turning around, you gazed at Angela only to see Mike sitting in your previous seat.
“Oh.” You muttered.
“Why don’t we have dinner?” He questioned moving to stand next to you.
“I-”
Not allowing you to respond, he tugged you behind him not letting go of your wrist as he lead you to his car.
“This is kidnapping you know.” You spoke raising an eyebrow at him as he held the car door open for you.
“I don’t see you putting up much of a fight.” He countered. “Shut up.” You spoke getting into the car.
Edward chuckled as he shut your door, knowing he won the argument. As you were driving down the road, you and Edward shared laughs as well as terrible singing.
Slamming on the breaks, your seat belt-tightening as you leaned forward from the sudden movement. Gazing through the windshield, you were surprised to see Jacob standing in the middle of the road.
Unbuckling your seatbelt, you practically jumped out of the car. “Jake?” “What are you doing with him?” Jacob's voice dripping with venom as he moved in front of you.
“We’re just hanging out... You spoke gazing at him with confusion, “Wait, why do you care? You’ve been MIA!”
“You wouldn’t understand.” Jacob brushed off your statement.
“Try me.” You spoke crossing your arms over your chest as you raised an eyebrow at him.
“Y/N.” Edward's voice spoke from beside you.
“How well do you even know him?” Jacob spat as he jutted his chin towards Edward.
“Why does that matter?”
“Because he’s a Vampire!”
Gazing at him, your eyes were widened eyes.
“What?” Your voice was barely above a whisper. Turning towards the man standing beside you.
Edward’s jaw clench and hesitation were enough of an answer for you.
“V-Vampires aren’t....real.”
“Jacob’s a shape shifter. That’s why he’s been avoiding you, turns out you don’t know him as well as you think you do.”
Your eyes snapped up to the man standing in front of you. "Jake?” You questioned feeling your body tremble as you gazed at him in disbelief. The pained look on his face broke your heart.
“Y/N...Let me explain.” He pleaded.
“Take me home.” You spoke.
Getting into Edward's car, you stared intently at the dashboard as you attempted to hold it together.

Gale set the air mattress next to Riot’s bed, bringing in fresh blankets and pillows for the both of them. “Alright, remember the door stays open. If you need anything, our room is just down the hall, and the bathroom is right across from it.”
“Thanks, mom. We got it.” Riot closed one of the windows by his bed. “Hey, uh, do you mind if I close the curtains?”
Fluffing up one of the pillows, Kimberly looked over at him, shaking her head. “No, go ahead. I sleep better in the dark anyway. Light just makes me uncomfortable.”
“What are you? A vampire?” Riot giggled at his joke but quickly stopped when he saw his mom glare at him.
“Well, I’ll leave you two to get comfortable.” Gale smiles, walking out of the room, making sure to keep the door open as she walked down the hall.
“Your mom’s nice.” Kimberly sat down on Riot’s bed. Crossing her legs, she watched him make the bed he’d be using.
“Yeah well, you haven’t seen her get angry yet. Just you wait, my mom can be a real bitch when she wants to be.” Riot looked up at her, his eyes landing on her blood-stained shirt. “I feel like you could use a clean shirt to sleep in. I don’t think you wanna sleep in that, do you?”
Looking down at her clothes, Kimberly only shrugged. “Yeah, but I didn’t exactly plan on almost being murdered on my first night here.”
Riot walked over to his dresser and pulled out some of his clothes. He tossed them over to her, giving her a sympathetic smile. “You can use mine. I’ll um- I’m gonna go shower. You can change in here and leave your clothes with my mom. She can wash them for you.”
“You know, you don’t have to do this-”
Riot interrupts her before she can finish. “I want to. I don’t want you to feel like you should push yourself away from us when we can help.”
“Help?” Raising an eyebrow at him, she leaned in a bit. “Help with what exactly?”
“Y-you know, making friends...feeling comfortable with us when everyone’s probably going to be pointing fingers at you tomorrow.” Gathering his things, Riot quickly made his way to the door. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make it sound bad. But it’s just...Lexi and I went through all that in middle school and the beginning of high school. I just don't want it to happen to someone else who’s in our position.”
“I can handle it myself, I always have. But thanks...I’m sorry. I’m just not used to people being...kind? I guess. Not many have been throughout my life.”
“I get it. Well, uh, yeah I’m gonna go shower. If you need anything, you know where my mom is.” Heading to the bathroom, Riot glanced into his mom’s room, seeing she was on the phone, probably talking to his dad. Getting into the bathroom, he locked the door before taking out his phone and sending a text to a group chat with Mare and Bones. ‘Is the camera working?’
Mare was the one to reply first. ‘Up and running.’
Bones replied right after. ‘Guys, why the fuck are you setting up a camera in Riot's room?’
‘Kimberly’s sleeping in there, duh.’
‘Mare is this just so you can see her undress?!?!’
‘Bones, don’t act so shocked, it’s Mare.’
‘And you’re helping him do it Riot, what the fuck!’
‘Hey, he gave me $40 to do this. Besides, it’s harmless. It’s not like he’s getting full nudity.’
‘PG-13 at best, Bones. Just enjoy it.’
‘No thanks, I might not trust her, but I’m not gonna be a perv towards her.’
Riot rolled his eyes and left the chat alone while he got ready to shower.
While carefully taking off her shirt, Kimberly looked at her bandaged-up arm, seeing red spots from underneath where the blood seeped through. Sighing, she looked down at the shirt Riot gave her, but before she could put it on, she looked around the room, feeling uncomfortable. “You’re in a stranger’s room, of course, you're feeling uncomfortable.” Feeling the strap of her bra start to slide down her shoulder, she picked it up quickly with her good arm, not wanting to risk him walking back into the room if he forgot something. After pulling on the shirt as fast as she could, she folded her clothes and took them with her down the hall.
Standing in the doorway, she was about to make her presence known until she saw Gale was on the phone.
Looking out her window, Gale sighed, feeling exhausted. “Are you sure? Well, what are we going to do? We can’t let her go back there. The girls went through enough already. Yeah no, I know that Dewey. We’ll talk more when you get home. I’m just glad you’re okay. Love you too.” Ending the call, Gale turned around and tossed her phone onto the bed, only to be startled when she realized Kimberly was standing in the doorway. “Jesus fucking Christ how long have you just been standing there?!”
“Um, just now?” Kimberly nervously looked at her clothes before looking up at Gale. “I’m sorry I startled you, but Riot said I could leave my clothes with you to wash.”
“Right, I’ll take them. You go get some rest.” Gale walked over to take the clothes from her hands and noticed her arm. “I’m going to have to wake you up a bit earlier to look at your arm. That okay?”
“Yeah, of course. Thanks again for letting me stay the night.” Handing her the clothes, Kimberly made her way back down the hall to Riot’s room. Sitting back down on the bed, she looked around the room at the movie posters he had on his walls. A lot of them were your standard horror movies like Halloween, Friday The 13th, Night Of The Living Dead, but one stood out from the bunch. A poster from the first Stab movie was hung by one of the windows.
“Why does he have this one?”
“Maybe because I like the movie?” Quickly turning to look in the direction of the door, Kimberly saw Riot walking towards the bed. “Might be fucked up for liking something that happened to my parents, but it was interesting to see.”
“You think that's interesting? I think that's disturbing.”
“So movies based on true events are only interesting to you when they aren’t directly based on something close to home?”
Kimberly leaned away when Riot leaned in, his hair still wet from the shower. Moving her hand away from him when she felt the drops of water land on the back of her hand, she wiped it off on her shirt. “Yeah, when your brother was the real villain, that tends to do that to you.”
“Oh, c’mon, you can’t tell me you weren’t just a bit curious about him.” Riot sat next to her on the bed, almost shoulder to shoulder despite all the space he had.
“Never, since my dad wouldn’t stop talking about him, comparing me to him nonstop, showing me those articles when I was a kid. That shit changes your perspective.”
“Yeah, but have you ever thought about doing what he and Stu did?”
Shoving a pillow into his face, she made him fall onto the air mattress. “Shut up and go to sleep. You have no fucking right to ask that kind of shit. What’s gotten into you?”
“Hey, I was just kidding. Seriously, that movie is only interesting to me 'cause the acting is so over the top, it’s hilarious. But I did get you going with that act, didn’t I?” Riot had a goofy smile on his face while tossing the pillow back.
Kimberly rolled her eyes at him, getting comfortable in bed as she faced him while laying down on her side. “You’re fucking weird, you know that?”
“I was just trying to be funny.” Riot sat up and stretched a bit. “Lights off?”
“Yeah. Night.” Taking off her glasses, she put them down on the bedside table.
Turning off the light, Riot glanced over in the direction of the hidden camera. Reaching for one of his books, he leaned it against the camera, blocking the view of his bed before getting comfortable.
Back at the Prescott house, Lexi and Sidney were laying in Sidney’s bed. Lexi rested her head against her mom’s chest, just barely being able to keep herself awake any longer.
“How do you know they won’t come back?”
Sidney gently pats down some of Lexi’s hair, holding her closer as she kissed the top of her head. “I’m not so sure, but it’s something I can handle if they do. I’m sorry this is happening to you.”
Lexi hugged Sidney back, being careful of her arm. “This isn’t your fault, mom. No one could’ve predicted this would happen again."
“I know, but you shouldn’t have to go through this.”
“Well, I’m in it, and there’s nothing we can do about it but fight back, right? I’ll be fine, though. I have the strongest woman in Woodsboro by my side.” Lexi sleepily smiled up at Sidney.
“Alright, kiddo, get some rest. Are you sure you’re up to going to school tomorrow?”
“Yeah, I’m sure. I know things will be fine there, at least.”
“Alright. Goodnight, sweetheart.”
“Goodnight…” Sidney stretched her free arm out to turn off the bedside lamp before falling asleep, watching the blue and red lights shine into her bedroom from the window near her bed.
~
Sitting at the kitchen table, Riot worked on the last few problems from his math homework while Gale finished rebandaging Kimberly’s arm.
Dewey walked in, immediately going to fill a mug with coffee. Looking over at Gale and Kimberly, he finished filling up his mug and walked over to the table, setting his mug down. Nervously clearing his throat, he gains everyone's attention.
"Kimberly, there's some news that I have to inform you about."
"What is it?" Checking her arm to make sure the gauze was secure, she looked up at Dewey.
Dewey took a deep breath in before continuing. "It's about your godmother, Nancy. I'm sorry to tell you this after what happened last night, but she's dead. We found her body last night."
Kimberly's eyes grew wide in shock before she shook her head at Dewey. "No, I was just with her yesterday morning!"
"I know this is a lot to take in. Gale and I will be here with you, and you can stay with us-"
"Did that creep do this to her?! Did he kill her?!" Her eyes looked glossy as tears started to well up.
Dewey stuttered for a moment. "I- well- we suspect that might've been the same person because I got a call from them just before discovering the body…"
"I can't fucking believe this!" Slamming her hand against the table made Riot and Gale jump in their seats.
"Honey, it's going to be okay, we'll be here-"
Riot quickly closed his book and shoved it in his backpack. "I think we should leave. I still have to pick up Lexi and Phantom. Let's go, Kimberly." Taking her hand, he led her away from his parents and out of the house before they could say anything else to her.
Getting in the car’s passenger seat, Kimberly hit the dashboard in frustration.
“Hey! I get you’re going through it right now, but don't try to take it out on my car, I just got it.” Riot closed his door when he got into the car. Looking over at her, he started to feel bad seeing her start to cry.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have done that.” Taking a deep breath in and out, she wiped her tears away with the back of her hand. “It’s just...she was all I had left of a family.”
“I’m sorry.” Riot sighs as he starts the car. “Do you want some coffee? Or anything to eat? We can stop by and get something real quick. My treat.”
Shaking her head, she just silently put on her seat belt. “It’s fine, I’m okay. If you wanna get something for yourself, you should.”
“You know what, I’m still getting you something. I don’t care if you say you’re fine. You need a little distraction right now.” Backing out of the driveway, Riot headed to the nearest cafe to get the group some drinks and breakfast before heading to pick them up.
Lexi grabbed her backpack from the couch, checking that she had everything she needed for the day.
Sidney walked into the living room. Picking up the remote, she turned on the tv, leaving it on the morning news. “Have everything?”
“Yup.” Hearing her phone go off, she checked it and saw a text from Phantom, letting her know he was waiting outside. “Are you going to be okay here alone?”
“I’m not staying home today. I’m meeting Gale and Dewey in a bit. Are you fine having dinner at their place tonight?”
“Yeah, sure. You’re going to be there too, right?” Adjusting her bag, Lexi heard her phone go off again.
“Of course I’ll be there.” Sidney brought Lexi in for a tight hug before letting her go out the door. “Stay safe and call me or Dewey right away if you need us."
“I will. See you later!” Walking out of her house, Lexi saw Phantom standing by the end of the driveway.
Phantom smiled when she made her way to him. Taking a hold of her hand he leaned in, kissing her.
Lexi smiled into the kiss before pulling away and kissing his cheek. “How’d you sleep last night?”
“On and off, I was too worried about you. How about you?” Phantom rubbed small circles on the back of her hand with his thumb.
“I slept, but not much. I was way too anxious last night.”
“No kidding.” Giving her hand a gentle squeeze, Phantom leaned down and kissed the top of her head. “I’ll be here for you though, no matter what happens.” Hearing his phone go off, Phantom took it out of his pocket to check the notification. “It’s Riot.”
“What’d he say? Is he close by?” Lexi rested her head against Phantom’s chest.
“He’s asking if we want anything from the cafe.”
Humming in response, Lexi wrapped an arm around Phantom's waist. “A muffin sounds good right now. Can you tell him he can get any kind?”
“Sure thing, babe.” Phantom smiled down at her before replying to Riot with their orders. Before he can put his phone away, he saw another text from him pop up. “Oh...shit.”
Lexi felt his body tense up a bit. “What’s wrong?”
Quickly replying to the message, Phantom put his phone away. “I feel like an even bigger asshole after last night. Riot’s dad told them they found Kimberly’s godmother dead last night, so she’s not doing so well right now.”
“Oh no, and she's going to school? She should’ve stayed home- fuck, she probably didn’t have a choice. What kind of fucked up shit is that. First her dad, and now her godmother.”
“She’s in our group now, and as much as most of us aren’t too excited about that, she’s also a victim till hopefully not proven otherwise. We can look after her, but we still need to be careful.”
“I think you and your brothers have seen too many scary movies. She’s harmless.”
“I hope you’re right…” Gently rubbing her back, Phantom rested his head on hers. “How’s your arm doing?”
“Sore, but better than last night. I can at least bend my wrist without it hurting much anymore.”
“Good. You sure you wanna go to school today?”
“You’re starting to sound like my mom.” Playfully rolling her eyes at him, she pulled away from his hold. “I’m alright. I wanna go. I don’t care what anyone is going to say if they have anything to say.”
Both turn in the direction of a car coming by when they hear it honking at them. “Looks like they’re here.”
Getting into the car, Riot immediately handed them their things after they got settled in. “Here you two go!”
Lexi smiled, taking the bag from him. “Thank you!”
“Thanks.” Phantom took the last coffee in the cup holder and carefully blew away some steam to take a sip. Glancing over at Kimberly, Phantom cleared his throat, putting the cup in one of the cup holders. “Um, Kimberly?”
Looking back at him, she tilted her head. “Yeah?”
“I’m sorry about last night. I didn’t mean what I said. It was uncalled for.”
Kimberly shook her head and looked back out her window. “It’s fine.”
“It’s not, I accused you of attempted murder when you were also attacked.”
“Look, you were scared. I get it. Just forget about it, I forgive you anyway. You were looking out for the person you care about the most. I’d do the same out of fear and protection.”
Lexi and Phantom shared a look before Lexi spoke up. “Um, we heard what happened and we want you to know we’re here if you need us. You know, for anything. We’re in this together.”
Kimberly just stayed silent for a moment. The only thing they heard was a barely audible ‘Thanks’.
~
Rose, Jem, Ebony were standing by Lexi’s locker. The three of them shared a worried look when they searched the hallway for the rest of their group. Bones made his way to them when he walked out of the restroom.
“Still not here yet?” He leaned against one of the lockers, looking in the direction of the front doors.
Jem shook their head, looking over at Bones. “Where’s Mare? Running late again?”
“Oh yeah, he had to go with Natpai to talk to his teacher. Had to clear up that he was sick and lost his voice, so he's asking them if Natpai could take the tests he missed while he was out.”
Jem nodded and turned their attention back to the front doors when they heard people whispering as they passed by the group.
Spotting their friends, the group made their way to Riot and Lexi, immediately engulfing them in a group hug.
Rose pulled away first, looking worried. “How are you guys holding up?”
Lexi shrugged while adjusting the strap of her bag. “I’m alright, just a few scratches here and there. Nothing serious.”
“I wasn’t the one who was attacked, so I’m fine.” Riot’s eyes followed Kimberly, watching her walk away from the group, heading to her locker.
The rest of the group heard the crowd whisper again when they passed by, their eyes all landing on Lexi and Riot.
Sharing a look, they both sighed, already feeling tired with the day. Whispers turned completely silent when a scream echoed through the hall. All eyes were on Kimberly who was sitting on the floor after falling back when something fell from her locker. There in front of her feet was a Ghostface mask and fake knife.
Looking around the hall, Kimberly’s eyes landed on the group, but before any of them could go up to help her, two sets of screams could be heard from the end of the hall. Looking in that direction, everyone saw two people running down the hall in full costume screaming as they passed by.
One of them almost got in Lexi’s face, but Phantom quickly grabbed her, holding her against his chest.
Riot took a step back when the other person almost bumped right into him.
“Jesus fucking Christ, what's wrong with these idiots?” Rose watched the two masked pranksters disappear out the double doors
Ebony looked over at Lexi who was shaking a little. “You okay?”
“Y-Yeah just...shaken up is all.” Letting herself relax into Phantom, she took one of his hands. He gently squeezed her hand reassuringly and kissed the top of her head.
Bones looked over in Kimberly’s direction, noticing Mare helping her up and leading her away from her locker. “Where the fuck are they going?”
Riot and Rose both looked at Bones, catching him talking to himself. Rose was about to ask what he was talking about till she saw Mare turn the corner with his arm around Kimberly’s shoulders.
“When did they get all friendly?” Rose crossed her arms in front of her chest, not happy with what she saw.
“Mare just has a way with women. Not surprising since she hardly knows him.” Ebony leaned back against the wall, looking over at the mask and knife still on the floor.
“She was probably talking to him since she got here. She’s just a slut wanting attention since no one can give it to her now.”
“Hey!” Phantom raised his voice at them, his expression turning serious from the soft look he had just a few seconds ago. “How the fuck can you say something like that? Don’t assume shit or spread rumors around like that. Especially now when people are dying around us. Mare’s just comforting her, that's it.”
“So what, now you’re on her side?! She’s a Loomis, Phantom! She can’t be trusted!” Rose stepped forward, but she was interrupted by the bell ringing.
“We’ll talk during lunch, this isn’t something we should be arguing about.” Phantom took Lexi’s hand, starting to lead her away and walk her to class.
Riot and Ebony looked at Rose before they also started to leave for their classes as well. Riot adjusted his backpack and looked back at Rose as they carefully walked backward. “You know, jealousy is not a good look on you.” Turning around, they caught up with Ebony, leaving Rose standing in the almost empty hallway.

Vampire!Hux x Stackhouse!Female Reader
A/N: So this is something I’ve been working on for a long time. It’s a Star Wars, True Blood mash up and I mean mash up. Like I smushed the two together, rubbing them between my hands making fanfiction breadcrumbs. We have Vampire!Hux 🤓 Shapeshifter!Poe and Werewolf!Kylo further down the line. Reader is the sister of Jason but trust me she’s not as annoying as Sookie (I couldn’t think of anyone to replace Jason because he’s the bomb so reader had to be a Stackhouse!) Bill doesn’t exist, because he too was annoying. I am posting this first chapter in celebration of @clydesducktape milestone celebration! Congrats Thia! I hope this is enjoyed.
Warnings: Not much for now, maybe some stalkerish behaviour from Hux. Mention of drinking, telepathic abilities. It will be a Darkfic and NSFW 18+

He’ll never forget the first time he saw you, the way your lips curved into a smile, how your eyes danced in the dim light of the club, the shape of your body, the sway of your hips as you walked and the fall of your hair with every movement of your head. He swore he could hear the strands as they settled softly. No, he’ll never forget the first time he saw you or the way your scent drifted over to him, carried on the rush of air when the club door opened. It was divine, he had to use all his self control not to rush over and steal you from your group of friends and have you in the office. His pupils dilated in a rush, if his heart beat it would be pounding in his chest, instead he heard yours; loud and clear, a steady beat in his ears drowning out all other sound. His nose flared sucking in as much of you as possible. Your blood sang to him, making you a beacon amongst the crowd; you smelled like sunshine, fresh flowers and grass, so earthy and light….you smelled like daylight. And he had to have you.
You shivered slightly looking at the gaudy neon sign on the side of the squat brick building. The night sky had begun to finally darken overhead and your excitement rose making you feel fidgety as you hopped from one foot to the other. You were surrounded by a group of friends who were all chatting excitedly about visiting the new vamp bar in Shreveport. You were intrigued, you’d never met a vampire before and now they were out of the coffin everyone wanted to meet one.
“You cold?” Shaking your head you looked up into the deep brown eyes of your friend Poe.
“I’m ok, just wish they’d let us in, you know?” He grimaced slightly.
“Not sure I’d wish for that.” You looped your arm through his and pulled him close, enjoying his warmth, Poe was always so hot, he was like your own personal radiator.
“Come on, we’re just here to scope out the competition, I’m sure these vamps have got nothing on us. I mean,” you gestured at the sign. “Look at it.” Poe smiled and dipped his head slightly causing his curls to cascade over his brow.
“Yeah maybe.” You shook his arm in an effort to get him to loosen up.
“What’s up? You were all for this earlier?” You asked, a hint of concern in your voice. He pulled his hand out of his pocket and gave his stubble a quick scratch and he wrinkled his nose.
“Ah, you know me, I aim to keep everyone happy.” You rolled your eyes, he was too much of a softy, a real push over.
“You don’t have to keep us happy! I can always report back if you don’t want to come in?” His eyes widened slightly and you could see the clench in his jaw as he pressed his teeth together.
“You’re not going in without me,” he rumbled. Your eyebrow rose at the gruff commanding tone in his voice, one you hadn’t heard before in all the years you’d known him.
“Yes boss!” Just then the door opened and a cheer rose up from the crowd outside. Jannah turned to beam at you as the line shuffled forward and you smiled back. You noticed Poe’s arm tense against yours and gave him a reassuring squeeze, his sense of unease was coming across to you the longer you had contact with him. Your barriers were lowering, whispers edged your mind and you tried harder to block them out. People streamed into the loud club, a tall blonde woman stood by the door watching everyone with a bored expression on her face until you reached the door. Her arm stretched out to stop you both entering, her eyes were bright as she scanned you both.
“ID,” she drawled, holding out a perfectly manicured hand, her fangs flashed when she spoke and you let out a giggle.
“Oh! You’re my first vampire!” You gushed as you dug out your ID. She pursed her lips and looked down at the card, cocking an immaculate eyebrow. “I haven’t been ID’d in such a long time! It’s so nice to meet you.” She sighed slightly and handed back the card.
“I can’t tell human ages anymore. You bloodbags all look the same to me.” Her blue eyes slid over to Poe when she spoke, a hint of smirk playing on her lips. “Go on in,” she drawled.
“Thank you!” Smiling broadly you dragged Poe in after your friends, it was dark all blacks and reds but you just assumed that was the commercial vampire aesthetic. The bar spread along the right hand side, the bartenders performing inhuman tricks and serving at superhuman speed. The middle of the club was made up of space to dance, punctuated by tables to stand around, a couple of poles flanked a stage and you couldn’t draw your eyes away from the scantily clad woman climbing up and down them with ease. Your gaze finally settled on the stage, a vampire, you assumed, was reclining in a deep red leather and gold chair. He had a shock of red hair that flopped over his brow giving him a soft appearance. His pale skin almost glowed from the spotlight that shone on him, his long fingers rested delicately on his lips while he surveyed the area before him, his bright eyes settled on you and it felt like all the hairs on your body rose at once making you shiver again. He lounged comfortably like a ruler regarding his kingdom in a dark suit, with a white shirt and a suit jacket in only what you could describe was a throne the longer you stared.
“If you’re not comfortable we can go,” said Poe and he moved to block the vampire from your view.
“Are you kidding? This is great!” You exclaimed. “Nothing like your bar though Poe, I’m sure these guys have got nothing on us, I bet they don’t even serve food,” you said leaning into him and whispering in his ear. He chuckled and placed a hand on your back.
“No, I don’t think food is a vampire’s, thing.” Your eyes widened and you covered your mouth with a hand to stifle a giggle.
“I didn’t think that through, did I? Anyway, let's get a drink.” The music wasn’t too loud and you were able to hold a conversation with your group of friends, Poe hovered closely by your shoulder as protective as always. He had his reservations about the vamps coming out to mainstream, he didn’t think they should have but you just thought it was exciting and brave of them to do so. You sipped your drink gazing around the club and tapping your foot to the music, until you found yourself looking at the stage again. The vampire’s eyes were trained on you with an intensity you’d never experienced before making your breath hitch in your throat.
It’s said that vamps have heightened hearing and you wondered if he could hear the increase in your heart beat, the rush of each pound as your blood coursed through your veins. You played with your bottom lip out of habit and he leaned forward in his chair, his blazing gaze never leaving you. Your lips parted and dragged in a sharp breath, your skin began to tingle, your heart fluttering erratically. It was so hot in here all of a sudden and you shifted under his intense attention trying to release some of the tension that had gathered in your body. Your eyes flickered as he stood up suddenly, your body seemed to cease functioning more and more the closer he got, your group of friends trailing off their sentences in awe. He drew level with you, his gaze still trained on you like you were his prey and he was stalking you. Not even Poe’s protective hand on your waist could break the spell you were falling under and everything dropped away the closer the vamp got. You reached out instinctively only to find his mind was empty, blank, silent and you felt your interest grow, the heat under your skin reached a fever pitch and you vaguely remembered to breathe. Your head swivelled to track his movement as he walked past you, finally pulling his bright gaze away from yours at the last moment and the noise of the club returned in a rush.
“Ok,” said Jannah. “What was that?” You frowned and shrugged.
“I can’t hear him,” you looked around, letting your barriers drop slightly. “I can’t hear any of them.” Poe frowned.
“You mean your….” you nodded, a relieved smile breaking over your face at the thought that if you were surrounded by vampires you wouldn’t have to exhaust yourself all the time by blocking out their thoughts. This was something you needed to explore.
The temperatures had soared today, after all the rain it was a relief to finally have some sun. You reclined in the chair baring as much skin as you could without being indecent, you couldn't explain it but the sunlight seemed to rejuvenate you, it warmed your entire body from the top of your scalp to the very tips of your toes, the heat curling around you, basking your skin in its vibrant heat. If you could lay here for the rest of your life you would, being outside, in the sun was the only real pleasure you got these days and you wouldn't give it up for anyone. The sound of large tyres broke your calm but you were used to it, you could sense his annoyance as he got out of the truck and you slowly placed your barriers back up, your brother's mind was one place you didn’t want to be. He called your name curtly and you sighed lightly.
“What’s this I hear you went to that fucking vamp bar in Shreveport?” He demanded loudly, making you sit up in annoyance.
“Would you keep your voice down? I don’t want Gran to hear!” You hissed. He looked around quickly before crouching down next to you, his short blonde hair seemed golden in the light, his eyes tracking over your body making you stick your tongue out at him. “You think I’d be sitting out here like this if I had vampire marks all over me?” You asked haughtily and he frowned.
“Stay out of my head!”
“I’m not in your head, moron. I know you.” He hummed in irritation and you settled back into your chair. “Is that all you came to say? To try and police me by making comments on what I do with my free time?” He said your name in defeat as he settled down in the short grass.
“You’re my baby sister, I just want you to be safe.” You looked over at him through the lenses of your sunglasses.
“I was safe, Jason. I promise, Poe came with me, and Jannah, Finn and Kaydel.”
“See, I wasn’t fucking told that. Why wasn’t I invited?” He whined.
“No, you just assumed I’d be stupid enough to go by myself, you weren’t invited because we went to scope out the competition.”
“Jason!” You both looked over at your Gran standing on the porch. “Get out of the sun kids, you’ll burn to a crisp. Come and have some lemonade.”
“You got any food Gran?” Your brother asked hopefully as he dusted himself off.
“I always got food for my growing boy, come on.” You slowly sat up, you didn’t want to go in just yet but you also knew your Gran would hound you until you had a drink and something to eat at least. You grabbed the dress that was hanging on the back of the chair and slipped it over your bikini before making your way indoors. You had a light lunch with Jason and your Gran before making your way upstairs to get ready for work. The water from the shower was cool on your sun heated skin, you took your time making sure you were fresh and all the dust from the dry ground had been washed off. You dried your hair and you pulled on your uniform for the bar thinking about how busy your shift was going to be tonight.
“I’m off to work Gran!” You said loudly as you grabbed your bag off the banister at the bottom of the stairs, dusk had fallen outside and your shift started really soon.
“Bye sweetheart! Say hi to Poe for me. I really wish you’d bring him here for dinner one night.” You leaned down and gave her a kiss on the cheek while rolling your eyes.
“Bye Gran,” you glossed over her comment with a knowing tone to your voice. “Don’t wait up for me.” You locked the door behind you and stepped down the porch steps to head to your car, your feet faltering before you came to a stop. Someone was standing in your driveway, blocking your route to the car.
“Excuse me? Can I help you?”
“I don’t know. Can you?” His voice was clipped with a heavy British accent, he had a large black overcoat on and his hands were clasped behind his back.
“Well I don’t know you’re just standing there,” you replied with annoyance. He turned slightly and the light from the porch fell on his face, you recognised him immediately as the red haired vamp from the bar. “How did you know where I live?”
“Phasma looked at your ID.” Right.
“Surely she can’t just hand out my information like that?” You could feel panic rising in your chest and you looked up at the house worried for your Gran’s safety.
“Don’t worry,” you shrieked loudly and backed up a few steps because he was suddenly before you looking down at you, curiosity marking his high cheek boned face. “I can’t get in without an invitation.” He stated, his red hair falling across his brow.
“So that’s true then!” You gasped, your hand clutching your top as your heart raced. He didn’t move, his light green eyes suggestively making their way down your body. “Stop looking at me like that,” you snapped.
“Why?” He didn’t sound like he was teasing, he was genuinely asking.
“Because it’s making me uncomfortable and you’re making me late for work.” You walked round him in a wide circle but he just followed your movements with peaked interest.
“He makes you wear that to work? Isn’t it a bit revealing?” He asked. You scoffed, shoving your key into your car door.
“Unlike what the women were wearing last night at your place,” you murmured to yourself.
“You noticed then.” You screamed again, he was so close, his voice bleeding smoothly into your ear as he leaned over your shoulder. You recoiled when he sniffed your hair, his eyes fluttering closed slightly. “What are you?” He whispered.
“I’m a waitress, who’s late for work. Now if you’ll excuse me…” you wrenched the car door open feeling relieved when he made no moves to stop you, the wheels kicking up gravel and dust as you pulled hastily away.
“You’re late!”
“I’m sorry Poe!” You threw an apologetic smile his way, rushing past the bar.
“Took your time,” said Jess as she winked at you. You stuffed your bag in your locker and hastily tied your apron before heading out into the diner. It was busy which for the business was great, but for your mind it wasn’t. It didn’t take long for your concentration to slip, you began rattling off orders before the customers had even opened their mouths making them eye you nervously. You plastered a big smile on your face and each time you did it felt like you were losing a piece of yourself. It was so tiring, blocking this many people’s thoughts from entering your mind all at once. Your break finally came around and you disappeared out the back door leaning heavily against the building.
“You taking a moment babe?” Asked Finn lightly as he stepped through the back door.
I knew Poe shouldn’t have taken her last night. She’s too pure for that vamp club.
“Yeah Finn, just having a breather, so loud in there tonight,” you said pointing with your thumb over your shoulder.
It’s not loud for me, you’re the one with crazy weirdness going on… Finn smiled and it was moments like this where you hated being a telepath. You hated not being able to completely block out your friends thoughts because it changed the way you looked at them in that moment. Other people’s thoughts aren’t meant to be heard. He threw some rubbish in the bin slamming the lid back down.
“I’ll see you back in there biatch,” he waggled his eyebrows, dragging a slight giggle from you before he disappeared back inside. You scuffed the dirt with your trainer wishing you didn’t have to go back in and face the stares and unheard comments of everyone around you. It was lonely being different, maybe that’s why you admired the vamps so much but then there were a lot more of them and everyone could see they were vampires. You told people you were telepathic and they recoiled like you had a deadly disease, because sucking blood was much better, you thought with a loud sigh.
Thankfully most of the diner had emptied by the time you went back in, you rolled your shoulders to try and ease the tension in your neck. Poe popped his head out of the office when you were refilling the salt pots and softly called your name with a jerk of his head.
“You looked tired.” He commented while closing the door.
“Yeah, I’m sorry I was late, the vamp from the bar turned up at my house,” you finished with a laugh turning to your cubby. “Not sure what he wanted, he didn’t even tell me his name. He seems a bit stuck up if you ask me….” Poe said your name with a hint of panic, his hands gripping you tightly as he spun you round.
“What do you mean the fanger was at your house? Which one?”
“Don’t call them fangers, and it was the red haired one never gave me his name.” He gripped you even tighter and you frowned. “Poe, you’re beginning to pinch…” he released you to run a hand through his messy dark curls.
“Damn! I knew we shouldn’t have gone! You, definitely not.” He muttered angrily and began to pace in front of you.
“Poe calm down, what’s the matter?” You asked, watching him walk up and down, you tried to get a read on him but Poe had always been one of those people who’s thoughts seemed to be fuzzy, out of focus almost. More images and feelings rather than words themselves.
“This is bad, what did he say to you?” You crossed your arms wondering why Poe suddenly made you feel like you’d done something wrong.
“I don’t know, we chatted.” Poe huffed, his hand rubbing over his face, he looked as drained and tired as you felt.
“That’s Hux, and if he’s shown an interest in you this is bad,” he explained.
“Well he can’t get in my house and he can’t bother me during the day so I think I’ll be just fine. I can look after myself.” You snapped, turning back to your cubby and grabbing your stuff. You hated how everyone thought you were some poor helpless girl that needed looking after and right now you could feel that rolling off Poe in waves. “I take it, can I go?” He nodded miserably and moved to the side letting you pass him, you caught the image of his truck just at the edges of your mind. “No, I don’t need a ride home!” You shouted as you left his office.
You sighed heavily and rested your head on the back of your seat, you weren’t sure why today had been far more exhausting than usual, maybe the unexpected visit from a vampire of all people had put you on the back foot. You turned the car on and headed home, when you pulled into the driveway you cast all your senses around but you couldn’t hear or see anything. Not that you would.
“Ok, he’s not here, just get out of the car.” You muttered, psyching yourself up to make the journey to your front door. You grabbed your bag and made it to the porch when a voice rang out behind you.
“What are you?” You turned slowly to see him standing at the bottom of the stairs, you saw he had a smart suit on under his overcoat, his hands still clasped behind his back, his head cocked to the side.
“Why don’t you go home?” You insisted. He had a confident air about him as he began to slowly climb the steps towards you, a smirk splitting his face. Again you couldn’t get a read on him, nothing in his mind, no words, emotions, images and you found yourself relaxing in someone else’s presence for the first time ever. He stopped a few paces from you when he reached the top step, his piercing eyes looking over you like he’d never seen you before.
“I could go home, but something draws me here.” He turned and faced the garden meaning you got a good look at his profile. Not being able to know what he was thinking or feeling you found out, put you at a disadvantage and even though it was relaxing you weren’t sure you liked it. He took a few steps along the porch, turning his back to you to look up at the sky.
“Well if that’s all you’re gonna say I’ll be heading to bed,” you told him.
“Humans….” he murmured. “Such basic creatures.”
“And you’re not?” You asked boldly, stepping forward. “From what I heard all you do is sleep during the day and drink blood.” He regarded you over his shoulder, the breeze sweeping in and ruffling his flame red hair slightly. You blinked and he moved, appearing before you like he’d teleported. You stumbled backwards and he followed you step for step, his eyes boring deep into yours until he had backed you up against the wall. “What do you want from me?!” you asked in a rush. He bent forward slightly so his nose just ghosted over your hair and you could hear him breathing deeply. He straightened, flexing his shoulders in a fluid movement, his pupils blown wide almost making his eyes appear black, his mouth opened and you jumped as the fangs seemed to erupt out of nowhere.
“You smell like sunshine…..” he groaned and placed a hand on the wall next to you, leaning into your space. Your heart rate rocketed, you scrunched up your face and turned away from him thinking this was it, this was the moment you were going to die. He was going to drain you and leave you here for your Gran to find in the morning. You felt his fingers on your chin and you gasped at how cold they were, leeching the very heat from your skin. Your eyes flew open to gaze into his, you felt like a rabbit caught in a pair of bright, intense headlights, although now he was only millimetres from your face you could see his eyes were a rich green grey colour and they were mesmerising.
“Your eyes…” you murmured without thinking and he stilled. He could have been a statue, his chest didn’t even rise and fall as if he didn’t need to breathe. The silence hung between you like a living thing, loud in the motionless of you both. You flinched when his fangs retracted, but he didn’t remove his hand from the wall or his fingers from your chin for a few more beats. Your hair ruffled in the wake of his sudden movement and you looked up and down the porch, finding yourself so very alone.
“What the hell….” you muttered, giving yourself a mental shake. Whatever this was, whatever was happening you didn’t want to be a part of it.

Being Bella’s little brother and Seth Clearwaters Imprint:
When the two of you met he had no idea Bella had a little brother, let alone that you were his imprint
But when he catches your eye for just a split second- he nearly chokes on the sandwich he had been eating
Suddenly nothing else around him matters, his whole world shifts and he want’s to stay in that moment forever, holding your gaze.
You had only been there to drop something off, Jacob had apparently left something at Bella’s- probably purposefully hoping Bella would come over to drop it off but boy, was he glad you came instead.
The whole packs eyes shift in between the two of you
“Well, he’s not what I was expecting.” Quill snickers, bumping Seth’s shoulder snapping him back to reality.
“Is Jacob around?” You asked, feeling a little uneasy at everyone staring at you, “Bella asked me to drop this off...” You trailed off shifting uncomfortably.
“He’s out on a run- but you can wait here.” Sam said, a smirk on his face as he listened to Seth’s racing thoughts
“Oh, that’s okay, I’ll just drop it off with you if that’s alright.”
Seth’s shoulder’s dropped hoping you’d accept Sam’s offer and he’d be able to actually talk to you
You put Jacob’s wallet down on the table, hoping to get out of there as quickly as humanly possible because at this point the stares were deeply disturbing you
Paul threw his shoe at Seth, yelling at him in there heads to say something.
“Uh! Hi!?” He said a little to loud and obviously panicked
You just smiled at him, a little awkwardly but it was enough to get Seth hyped up
“I’m Seth Clearwater, Did you just move here?”
Ah, maybe that’s why they’ve been looking at you so strange, you think to yourself, A random stranger walks into your house and drops off there friends wallet. You assumed Bella had mentioned you coming over, apparently you assumed wrong.
“No, well kind of, I moved in a week after Bella got here.”
“How do you know Bella?”
Oh so they don’t know about you at all, you laugh slightly, oh course she didn’t, she was such a nice sister but damn, not even mentioning her own brother.
“She’s my sister...”
Suddenly everyone else was the one’s falling silent and Seth was chatting away about how you should come to there bonfire they were having tonight- they technically weren’t going to be having one but he was gonna be damned if he let you just walk away
You reluctantly agreed and then took your leave
You thought he was nice but were still unsettled by the awkward encounter
Seth however was over the moon, rambling about how nice you seemed and how they needed to throw the best bonfire, when Jacob came back he was attacked with hundreds of questions about you- Most of which he hardly knew the answer to like, what’s there favorite color, do they like muffins, what’s their favorite food, ect.
All the other pack members slightly dread having to listen to this forever.
Boy is excited but nervous when he waits for you
You take one step out of your car and he’s standing there practically jumping with joy
He can’t calm down, he’s just so excited to spend time with you
The pack have to warn him not to scare you off multiple times
Once you get over how excited he is you realized he’s actually pretty fun to be around, you spend all night talking about your lives and interests
Before you leave you both agree you should hang out again soon- you actually suggest it and Seth can’t agree fast enough
When you leave Seth is so giddy- the entire pack is happy for him but they all start to poke fun at him
He doesn’t care, he’s over the moon happy
Since that day he’s almost constantly around you
You two become quick friends, You finally feel like you’ve connected with someone since you moved to Forks
You adore how happy and innocent he can be, loving his long ramblings about random things and interests he has
He loves how you actually listen to him, not brushing him off or just thinking he’s some silly kid
He invites you too the beach almost constantly- completely forgetting your human and you get cold
One time you ruffled his hair and he’s been obsessed with it ever since
Neither of you meant to fall in love
For you, you realized almost immediately you were starting to get a small crush on him, which only grew the longer you knew each other
He however was clueless for a long while, the pack started to suspect by his thoughts that you weren’t a platonic imprint
All Seth knows is one day it finally clicked in his head one day when you were grabbing fast food for eachother- you remembered his rather large order since this was a regular occurrence for the two of you- he was sitting at a table and suddenly it hit him
He was in love with you
Our man panics at the thought- he knew you cared about him but how much? He was clueless.
He hasn’t even told you that he’s a shifter- and you don’t know about vampires so he has no idea how you’ll react
You notice he’s slightly quieter then usual and you put your hand on his shoulder asking if everything is alright- He nearly jumps out of his skin
He assures you everything is fine while reading into almost everything you do or say, wondering if it’s a sign your just friends or that you like him
When he goes back to the pack that night he tries to clear his thoughts but they’re just full of you.
Paul ATTEMPTS at giving him advice
“Look, man, I don’t know what its like to... ya know be in love with a dude... but I am a dude and I’ve been in lots of relationships so If I were you I’d just come right out to her- I mean him- look just tell him you like him, I’m sure they feel the same way about you... I mean I think... probably.”
“Paul, your horrible at this.”
“Well then, you try since your so good at this, Quill.”
Seth thanks them quickly and leaves, he’s thankful that Paul gave him advice but just telling you almost gave him a heart attack to think about.
That night he writes almost a three paragraph text to you, but ends up deleting it- to nervous to tell you
Leah is sitting in the other room trying not to snoop on his thoughts but unable to keep them out
Ends up giving him some advice, that if he loves you to not let you go, to not rush things, and when he feels like he’s ready to ask you out.
He thanks her before heading off to bed
Turns out he feels ready in three days
The entire pack is internally hyping him up when you pick him up- He invited you to the beach, wanting to have you undivided attention.
Ends up rambling for an hour as he talks around his feelings.
Internally at war on whether or not he’s ready to tell you
“Do you want to go on a date?” He blurts out after a moment of silence
...
“Like... a date date?” You ask hopeful but not wanting to misunderstand
“Yeah... you don’t have to if you don’t want- I just thought it might be nice cause I really like yo-- you know what just forget I said anything it not importan--”
“I’d love to go on a date with you.” You answered, attempting to hide the severe blush rising to your cheeks.
Seth does not stop smiling the rest of your hang out- when he get’s home the pack doesn’t even need to hear his thoughts to know.
“Alright way to go Seth!”
You go home that day also unable to wipe your smile off your face
“what’s got you so happy about?” Bella asks, she secretly already know, Edward told her the minute you walked in the door.
She knew you two had become friends but she had no idea you were gay
“Nothing!” You chimed happily grabbing a soda from the fridge
“Okay.. Hey Y/N can I ask you something and you promise to tell the truth.”
“Sure, Bells, what’s up?”
“Are you... gay?
You both just look at each other for a few minutes before you finally answer “Maybe a bit.”
“Oh.. cool.” She says before going back upstairs, reeling from the new information.
Your left confused on what just happened and how she knew, but deciding it would be best to just accept it and move on
The next time you were in the same room it was very awkward
She didn’t exactly care, but she was raised where it was out of the norm
You thought she did care, and you couldn’t look her in the eye
Once Edward told her that how you felt, she decided it was time to talk
“You know, I don’t hate you... right?”
“... You don’t?”
“Uh no, I was just shocked... I’m glad you told me.”
“Well you did force my hand.”
“Yeah, sorry that was wrong of me.”
“It’s alright.”
Things were still awkward but that was your normal- living in a house with Charlie and Bella meant there were a lot of uncomfortable moments
Although you were glad she knew
On the day of your date both of your guys nerves were high
Everything felt very awkward
You went to see a movie, an action film he really wanted to see, you didn’t like it but were glad he enjoyed himself.
Seth didn’t really know what to do on a date, all he had to go off was Paul and romance movies- neither of those were the best things to base your knowledge off
When he saw you shiver slightly and pull your jacket closer he thought he had the perfect idea in his idea
He did the classic yawn and arm move, and you almost jumped out of your skin when you felt his hot arm lay across your shoulders
Unknowingly he timed his smooth moves with a suspenseful scene in the movie- and you were already on edge so him wrapping his arm around you scared the hell out of you
You felt guilty when he quickly recoiled and whispered a sorry
After a few moments of silence you decided you’d pull the same move on him
He was internally screaming at himself for being so stupid when you slithered your arm around him
You stared straight forward to nervous to meet his eye, however you could see in the corner of your eye he was looking at you
After a few seconds he relaxed into your touch, leaning slightly into you
He couldn’t focus on the movie after that, he was far to excited and if it weren’t for the fact that he was in a theater he would have been nervously rambling
You both went home, punching the air you were both so excited
He went to bed thinking about how good it felt to be in your arms
You went to bed gushing at how cute his face was when you left, his face was a red mess
After that day you guys talked everyday and saw each other every other day
On your third date, he works up the courage to kiss you, sweating nervously while he did it
Is so giddy when you press another kiss to his lips
You would’ve liked to continue but he was so excited he nearly pounces on you with a hug
It becomes a common occurrence to steal a kiss or two here and there
You dad was suspicious you were seeing a girl and not telling him
He tried to give you ‘the talk’ because he ‘was a teenage boy to and know’s what its like’
You were uncomfortably sitting on the sofa, wishing to be anywhere else
“Uhm dad... I should probably tell you something.”
“Oh god... is she pregnant?’
“NO! no no no, it’s not that... actually you won’t really need to worry about that.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m a... seeing someone who’s not.. a girl...”
“So like a...”
“I’m seeing Seth Clearwater.” You decide it’s better to just rip off the band-aid
“Ah... well that’s good then... he’s a good kid.”
An uncomfortable silence falls and you both sip nervously at your drinks,
“You know you still need to use protection right...”
“Oh my god... yes dad I know.”
“I’m just making sure!”
Things are a little uncomfortable for awhile but Charlie really doesn’t give a damn- he’s still not happy you were seeing someone behind his back, but he let’s it slide
Next time Seth comes over Charlie makes you leave the door cracked
Not that you minded, you just played games and talked- laughing together whenever you’d see Charlie checking on the two of you
The time to tell you about him being shifter finally come and he is terrified but excited to not need to hide it from you any more
“Hey Seth, Why are we going into the middle of the woods?”
“You’ll see!”
He leads you away from the others, before nervously stopping and turning to you
“Uhm so I don’t know how to say this so I’m just going to show you... uh don’t panic please.”
The words ‘don’t panic’ made you panic, “Oh god please tell me your not a serial killer.”
“No, not a serial killer.”
“A... Cannibal?”
“Uh, also no. You’ll see.”
When he takes his shirt off you get extremely uncomfortable- When he takes his pants off you look anywhere but to him, “Uh... I should... I should go.”
Your about to turn around when in the flash of an eye the man that was standing before turns into a ginormous wolf
You just stare at him for a few minutes, not saying a damn word
You question literally everything you’ve ever known
“Okay.” You sigh, Finally looking him in the eye, “I don’t really know what to say at that but thanks, for not being a cannibal- your not going to eat me right now are you?”
He shakes his head, laughing internally at how that’s your concern right now.
“Okay then...” You trailed off, taking a few cautious steps forward- I mean.. it’s not exactly normal but it could’ve been worse, you thought to yourself.
“Can I... uhm..” You don’t finish your sentence, wearily raising your hand to touch him.
He nuzzled into your hand, you gently stroked his fur behind his ear- it was weird but you were trying your best to accept it, you did love him... all of him and if this is something you’d have to get used to, you were willing to do that.
“Okay,” you say patting his head, “Can you, ya know, unwolf-i-fy please, so I can talk to you.”
He takes a few steps away from you before you shifting, you quickly look away while he get’s changed
“So, what do you think?” Seth asks a little nervous but happy that you didn’t immediately run away
“My boyfriend is a werewolf... I mean that’s cool but, could’ve used a heads up.”
He explains the whole pack history, who is and isn’t werewolves, finally explains what happened to Emily- answering a question you hadn’t dared to ask, when he explains imprints to you, you get lowkey jealous.
“So... who’s your imprint then?”
“...”
“Seth.”
He laughed and motions towards you, it takes a second for it to click.
“... What’s that supposed to-- OH ME?”
“Yep!”
When he walks you back to the pack, Quill groans slightly- he had bet 20 dollars you would’ve ran for the hills
You just squint at the lot of them, not really knowing what to say but deciding you had to say something, “So all of you then?”
“Yes, we’re all shifters.” Sam says, cautious not to say to much.
“Well that’s... cool.”
Seth pulls you away and you decide it’s time to go
“I’ll talk to you tomorrow?” You asked, and he quickly replied with a “Yep!”
After you take a day to think and process, things basically go back to normal
You get so excited to see him shift that he get’s excited, which get’s you excited, and it just continues to loop
He can show you his strength and agility now so he decides to start sneaking in you window- with your permission
You’ll start hearing little taps on your window almost every night
You’ll look over and see his dopey smile.through the window
Him coming clean to you about his supernatural side means he finally feels comfortable to sleep with you- not the way your thinking
Quite literally cuddled up to you and sound asleep, arms and legs tangled together
Forks is a cold, cold place so you obviously need to sleep cuddled up to your warm boyfriend.
“So you could say your hot in both senses of the word.
“I-”
He BLUSHES when you flirt with him, he get’s so flustered
When he flirts with you it’s all cheesy pickup lines- if they came from anyone else you’d gag but it’s cute from him
“Are you french?”
“No-”
“Because Eiffel for you.”
He’s a dork but you love him.
It takes a long while for you to get physically intimate
He’ll only be comfortable doing a few smaller things at first, not wanting to go all the way
You kind of expected it, he get’s embarrassed when you kiss him, so sex? Boy would probably die that instant
At the end of the day, he’s so happy he found you and so in love with you it almost overwhelms him
He makes sure to remind you how much he loves you everyday for the rest of your lives together
(SO I THOUGHT I POSTED THIS YESTERDAY MORNING BUT I CLICKED SAVE TO DRAFT AND IM REALLY DUMB. Also this is a request but I lost there request so I’m really sorry and hope you can see this bud. Love y’all, stay safe)

Part One, Part Two, Part Three, Part Four, Part Five, Part Six,Part Seven, Part Eight
Ivar arrived home with a little over an hour to spare.
He was happy to say his legs were no longer burning in hot flames of pain and had died down to the usual dull simmering pain that he was used to dealing with.
As he walked to the stairs he took a moment to be childish and flick off the elevator.
He took a shower and for whatever reason his mind started to wonder, thinking about the series of unfortunate events that occurred last night.
The thought of himself being the great Viking king that his mother named him after was still too outlandish for him to think about. The splitting headache and nosebleed did little to encourage him to think about it.
So his mind moved on.
He thought of (Y/N), the way she accepted his legs, she didn’t immediately get that stupid look of pity or false empathy. No her eyes didn’t soften, nothing had changed in her eyes. She still saw him as she had before, and he was very happy for that.
Being in the family he came from he couldn’t find many friends, not any real ones anyway. His brothers could handle having friends who were drawn to the money and fame, but Ivar couldn’t stand people like that. He couldn’t explain it too well, but he could always see it, the hungry way people looked at him.
Like he was a walking ATM and if they could just get close enough to him then the money would never stop flowing.
All of them had the mutual understanding that none of the Ragnarson children ever wanted to be pushed into the public eye. No magazine articles or press interviews, but still they were hard not to recognize if only for the way their mother seemed to flaunt their wealth around.
(Y/N) had never seen the designer clothes his mother dressed him in or heard about out of country trips he had been dragged on.
Her eyes weren’t hungry, and he liked that.
Ivar liked to be around her, he liked the conversation with her and the way she never asked for favors, anything he did for her was his own choice and it always would be.
(Y/N).
His mind wandered to her in the car, when his nose had bled. With no hesitation she gave him the very shirt off her back. That thought made him think about her sitting in his passenger seat, topless and blushing. The way her face became an ungodly red when he had stupidly invaded her personal space.
Then it all went south, his mind decided to be treacherous and focus on that moment before the cop knocked on the window.
Ivar immediately shook his head and wrapped up his shower, if he set the water to ice cold for a few seconds then he’d never admit it.
Deciding to shut up his mind Ivar put in his earbuds and blasted his music while he got dressed, he walked past his real closet full of clothes he had picked up in shops and went to his second one.
The one his mother filled with brands that “people of their status” should be wearing, he picked up a suit without giving it a glance before he started putting it on with practiced ease.
As he was tying back his hair Hvitserk barged in the room, in a suit of his own.
‘Looking spiffy, bet (Y/N) would have loved to see it.’ his brother smiled as he sat on the bed.
‘Shut up.’ Ivar rolled his eyes as he took out his earbuds.
‘What did you wear to see her last night? Birthday suit?’ Hvitserk teased.
‘I said shut up, some people can be friends with girls and not have sex with them.’ Ivar sassed.
‘Of course they can, that just doesn’t seem to be the case for you Ivy.’
‘Don’t call me that.’
‘So you’re going to tell me that you...Ivar Hogh Ragnarson, got up in the middle of the night to meet a girl and nothing scandalous happened.’
‘Yes, nothing happened.’ Ivar said tiredly.
‘Well I don’t believe that for a second, why did you go out in the first place?’ Hvitserk asked.
‘I’m not going to keep talking about this, can we please just get downstairs before Mother comes looking for us.’ Ivar deflected.
Hvitserk rolled his eyes but he did sigh and got up, meaning that for now at least the subject was dropped.
The two of them headed downstairs to the dining area. As expected the table was covered in large expensive dishes, and of course none of it had been prepared by their mother.
The cook had truly outdone herself today, Ivar new his father must have given her quite a bonus for this feast.
At the head of the table was his father and his mother was sat in the seat on his right, both dressed in expensive brands.
Ubbe and Sigurd still hadn’t come down yet, but Ivar and Hvitserk took their seats across from each other.
‘Ivar...I heard the elevator. Are you feeling well?’ Ivar asked.
‘Yes I am fine, I just woke up in the odd hours where my medicine wasn’t as effective as usual. So I went out for a drive while it kicked in.’ he said casually.
‘You went driving?’ his mother asked.
‘Yes, not too far, I was safe I promise.’ he soothed.
His mother bit at her lip and looked away before she took a sip from her wine glass, she always drank when she worried.
She was always worrying.
Thankfully before the silence could become awkward the two missing brothers came down and took their places at the table.
‘Boys, this lunch is with a very important client, one of my first clients when I started out and he brought me a lot of business by nothing but word of mouth. He is usually quiet and very much so a shut in, and he comes from old money.’
‘If he is a shut in why did he suddenly ask to have lunch?’ Ubbe asked.
‘No idea, but I couldn’t decline. Now, I know you all know how to behave in front of clients, but this client is completely blind so be sensitive to that. Do not mention it, do you all understand?’ his father asked.
Everyone agreed and the conversation moved to lighter things like school and stocks and what summer plans were in consideration. It was all idle chit chat to pass the time while they waited for their guest.
At long last their loud dramatic doorbell rang and one of the housekeepers led in a man using a white cane.
The man was very tall, and that was impressive considering the fact that Ivar was the shortest Ragnarson while standing at exactly six foot.
He had to be at least seven feet, his black suit was clearly custom tailored to his body in a way that made it hard to tell if his suit was filled out by fat or pure muscle. His eyes and forehead were completely hidden behind the largest pair of reflective sunglasses Ivar had ever seen.
His skin was as pale porcelain, it was very oddly accompanied by the most visible light blue veins beneath his flesh and the black lipstick that was smeared over his almost fish like lips.
‘Hello Ragnar.’ the man said, his voice large and raspy as he had been smoking since he could walk.
‘Hello old man.’ Ragnar said happily.
‘I’m as old as I’ll ever be and as young as I can be now.’ the man said.
‘There goes that wise man way of speaking you are so famous for.’ the father smiled happily.
‘And there is the smile you are famous for.’
‘You can see me smiling?’ Ragnar teased.
‘My eyes see nothing, but I see all...that is my curse.’ the man said as he took his seat.
The whole table was silent, not even his father, the great conversationalist that he was, could make light of such a cryptic thing.
‘Don’t be so tense, introduce me to your family so we can eat this delightful feast.’
‘Of course, family meet my great client Mr. Divine. This is my wife Aslaug, my boys that I’m always talking about; Ubbe, Hvitserk, Sigurd and Ivar.’
‘You are missing two...a boy and a girl…a poor sick girl no one here but you ever got to see.’
Ivar was stunned, and judging by the almost loud silence his family members were in the same state.
His father didn’t speak of his only daughter, the girl that died long before he had been born. From what he had been told his half sister Gida had caught a horrible case of influenza and she just didn’t have a strong enough immune system.
No matter how he tried he couldn’t imagine his father talking about Gida with a client, no matter how important.
‘Yes...we should enjoy the feast.’ Ragnar said, not as cheerful as he had been before.
At last the lunch finally began and while it took a minute the conversation did pick up. Despite that Ivar couldn’t shake this sick feeling.
The feeling he had at the restaurant when (Y/N)’s mother was talking about her findings, like his entire body was covered in ants. He was still polite to the guest, but he just couldn’t look at this man for more than a few seconds.
For such a large spread the actual lunch passed rather quickly, and eventually no one could eat another bite.
‘This was a fine lunch, but I do have several appointments lined up so I must be going.
All of a sudden Ivar couldn’t control himself, there was a question he needed to ask before this man left.
‘Mr. Divine? Is that your given name?’
‘Ivar.’ Ragnar warned.
His ears suddenly burned red in embarrassment at his rude outburst.
‘No need to worry Ragnar, with youth comes curiosity and recklessness. Walk me to the door boy.’ Mr. Divine said to him.
Ivar looked at his father and after he received an approving nod he stood and walked around to the other side of the table.
Mr. Divine stood as well and pushed back his chair from the table, he used his cane to get around the table.
Ivar didn’t move to guide him, partially not wanting to startle him but mostly knowing instinctively that this man wouldn’t appreciate him assuming he needed help.
The two walked out of the dining room and made their way to the door.
‘Do you remember me?’
Ivar looked at the man in confusion.
‘Have I met you before? I think I’d remember if I had, you do leave an impression if I must say.’ Ivar replied politely.
‘We have before, just not in this life.’ Mr Divine said as he stopped walking and took off his humongous sunglasses.
Ivar’s heart dropped so quickly into his stomach as if it had suddenly been turned to lead in his chest, his palms were nearly spraying out sweat and he felt like his body was turning into stone.
Mr. Divine didn’t have eyes.
Not empty sockets he could fill with glass prosthetic ones, but there was nothing but skin covering the place where eyes should have been.
“No eyes…” (Y/N)’s voice rang in his mind.
This was him, it had to be; the one who spoke to her directly.
‘I see you don’t recall me personally, but you are aware of me thanks to the Christian child.’ he said as he moved closer to Ivar.
‘You are the one who talks to her...how are you here, those dreams happened centuries ago?’ Ivar asked in complete shock.
‘Not dreams...you know they are more than that don’t you...Boneless one.’
This time Ivar outright flinched at his words.
‘I-I’m not-’
‘You are; run from it and deny it all you like but the fact remains you are and the faster you embrace it the better off everyone you care about will be.’ Mr. Divine said gravely as he put on his glasses once again.
‘I-’ Ivar didn’t know what he had meant to say but it didn’t matter, because the blind man had already walked away.
‘Long long years I have roamed this horrible world and I will continue until you accept the truth. I pray to all the Gods that you do not make the same selfish mistakes again, there are too many people at stake.’ Mr. Divine said before he left, closing the door behind him.
Never before had Ivar felt such an odd feeling, but the one thing that mattered was that he didn’t like the feeling at all.
He didn’t like the man’s eyeless, black lipped face and he liked his words even less than that.
Ivar didn’t know who this man was or how he was here but he knew that if he never saw that blind bastard again he would have no complaints. All he had done was say stupid things that didn’t answer his questions and left more confused than he was before.
Selfish.
Ivar wasn’t selfish at all, he donated a majority of his monthly allowance to multiple charities and whatever he had left he gave away to the homeless or beggars he saw on the streets.
Angrier than he had been in quite some time he gritted his teeth and walked back into the dining room.
The maids were cleaning the table while the others were still there talking about the lunch they had just had.
‘So you are telling people about her now Ragnar? You rarely speak of Gida even to me, he must be a very good friend.’ Aslaug said politely, but everyone knew it was anything but.
Ivar didn’t bother sitting back down and instead made his way back to his room, he heard his brothers coming up behind him on the stairs.
‘I honestly don’t understand why they have to fight all the time, don’t they get tired?’ Hvitserk sighed.
‘Lord knows they aren’t staying together for our sakes so what is the point? Not like Mom wasn't already an heiress before she met him.’ Sigurd asked in a sour tone.
‘Who knows, it doesn’t matter. I'm going out with some friends, I’ll be back in the morning.’ Ubbe said.
‘Can I tag along? I have nothing going on, but I certainly don’t want to stay here.’ Hvitserk asked.
‘Sure, you two wanna join?’ Ubbe offered.
‘Hell no, I have my own plans, taking a girl to a poetry slam and then a night on the town.’ Sigurd said dismissively.
‘No need to ask Ivar, he has plans with his girlfriend.’ Hvitserk said.
‘Oh he finally got official with (Y/N)? Good for him.’ Sigurd hummed casually.
‘I’m not official with her, I’m not unofficial with her because I’m just friends with her.’ Ivar said in his own defense.
‘Well I don’t believe that for a second.’ Sigurd dismissed.
‘Funnily enough I said the same thing.’ Hvitserk added in agreement.
‘That’s because you idiots have two brain cells between the two of you and you’re sharing one of them.’ Ivar teased.
‘Whatever, you in or not?’ Ubbe asked in mild amusement at his younger brothers bickering.
‘No, gonna catch up on some Netflix documentaries, there’s a good one abou-‘
Ivar was cut off by his phone ringing in his pocket, he pulled it out and looked at the contact.
My Literal Child
‘Might I suggest you change her contact info, looks creepy considering the change in your relationship.’ Ubbe said.
‘I would like to suggest you invite her over to Netflix and Chill.’ Sigurd grinned.
‘Shut up.’ Ivar said as he went into his room and closed the door.
He accepted the call and kicked off his shoes.
‘What’s up, except for your horrible timing?’ Ivar answered.
‘Hey so I’m super grounded.’ she said.
‘Can I ask why, hello by the way.’
‘Because my mother isn’t blind enough to miss a hideous truck in her driveway.’
Ivar outwardly facepalmed, he had been so pill loopy and pain struck that he hadn’t even thought about hiding his truck a few blocks down.
‘But luckily my mom likes you so much she isn’t mad enough to kill me. I am still on lock down with the exception of school and I won't be allowed any visitors unless it's a classmate for a group assignment for two weeks.’
‘That sucks but is there anything else, because I have some news that will blow your mind.’ Ivar replied.
‘Actually yes, the doctor called my mom on Friday to set up a sleep study for me on Monday night. Problem is my mom can’t make it and that hospital isn’t really walking distance from my house.’
Do you want me to take you, I can wait for you in the waiting room too.’ Ivar offered.
‘Thanks, now what is your news? Is it...you know?’ she asked quietly in a way that suggested she didn’t want anyone hearing what they were talking about.
‘Yeah. Do you remember that guy you told me about from your dreams, the one with no eyes?’
‘Hard to forget a face like that.’
‘I know tell me about it, I just saw him.’ Ivar said.
‘What do you mean you saw him? Like you dreamed about him? Did he say anything to you?’ (Y/N) asked eagerly.
‘No not in a dream, I mean I saw him. He was just sitting down with me and my family having lunch. He’s one of my father’s first clients, he looked no older than fifty tops.’ Ivar ranted.
‘That’s not possible, we already know that all this past life stuff happened in the Viking Age, that is centuries ago, there is no way he could still be alive. Maybe he’s like us and just looks like his ancestor.’ she suggested
‘No. I don’t think so. He pulled me aside and he asked me if I remembered him, he called me…’ Ivar didn’t even want to say it.
‘He called you what Ivar?’ she urged.
‘Boneless, (Y/N) he called me Boneless one. He said he’s lived many years and he will continue to live in this horrible world until I embrace who I am. He said the sooner I do the better everyone will be, he said too many people are at stake. The bastard called me selfish and he doesn’t even know me!’ Ivar vented, growing angrier with every word.
‘Ivar! Ivar calm down! Calm down!’ (Y/N) cried from the other line.
‘How! Some old fool just showed up speaking like a cartoon fortune teller and called me selfish!’ he seethed.
‘If you aren’t then why be upset!’
All at once Ivar’s anger left him, and it left his body feeling deflated like a balloon.
He still took a few deep breaths just to assure himself that he was actually calm.
‘Are you good now?’
‘Yeah, yeah I’m good; I’m sorry I didn’t mean to yell at you.’ he apologized.
‘I know, you only yell when we talk about who you might have been before; it’s like your twisted version of a defense mechanism. Not that I can blame you, I’m currently looking into this guy and yeah I get being afraid to be him, I’m scared reading it.’
‘I’ve read everything about him, I know almost every theory and legend that even mentions his name.’ Ivar replied as he laid in his bed and looked up at his ceiling.
‘Who is your favorite fairy tale character?’ Ivar asked.
‘Alice from Alice in Wonderland.’ she replied without hesitation.
‘Imagine some caterpillar showing up and saying you’re the real Alice and you just don’t remember.’
‘I’m sure I’d be too freaked by a talking bug.’ she joked.
‘Well the guy looks like an insect.’ Ivar snipped.
‘That’s mean. How about tomorrow after you get out of school you come over and we can talk about this eyeless guy for a while before I have to go in for my sleep study.’
‘I thought you said no visitors.’
‘I did but I did say she likes you and she seems to trust you to make sure I don’t take a nap before my sleep study. My neighbor is going to be checking on me during school hours.’
‘OK, I’ll be there.’
‘Thanks, so we are good to go. Oh and Ivar...for what it’s worth I don’t think you’re selfish; you’re the most generous guy I’ve met.’
‘I’m happy that you think so, I’ll see you tomorrow.’ Ivar said.
‘See you tomorrow Ivar.’ (Y/N) said before she hung up.
Ivar threw his phone down on his bed and closed his eyes.
She thought he was generous and that really made him feel bad about what he thought when Mr. Divine said too many people were at stake.
Why are they his responsibility?

Keeping Secrets Ch. 49
Keeping Secrets Masterlist
Tumblr media
“You’re back.” Elijah said with a smirk on his face when Katie walked through the front doors of the compound that led straight into the courtyard where Elijah sat in a black suit, light blue shirt and a black tie reading a book.
“I’m back.” Katie said with a smile and a look around the place. “And you’re wearing a suit.” He closed his book and sat it on the table. “The laid back look didn’t suit you. Pun intended.”
Elijah just shook his head at her bad joke as he stood up and walked over to her where she’d stopped next to the fountain. “How was your trip?” he asked as he held his hand out for her bag.
“It was good, but I’m happy to be home.” She answered as he took her duffle bag off of her shoulder.
“So where is Niklaus?” he asked as they started up the stairs to Katie and Klaus’s quarters.
“Father Kieran asked for a meeting as soon as we returned.” Katie answered as they came to the door and she pushed it open. “So how was your Klaus free week?”
“Quiet.” He answered with a bit of a smirk as he put her bag down next to the door.
“A good quiet or I’m bored out of my freaking mind quiet?” she asked curiously as she sat down on one of the two couches in the sitting room.
“Good quiet.” He answered with a bit of a nod as he sat down on the couch across from her.
“Good.” Katie said with a small smile.
Things had fallen comfortably quiet between them for a few minutes when Elijah looked around. “I just realized there is not a t.v. in your quarters.”
“Yeah, so?” she asked with a confused shake of her head.
“So, how can you watch your man if there’s not a t.v. in your room?” he asked with a smirk.
“My man?” she asked, still confused.
“The crossbow wielding man with angel wings on his back and in dire need of a bath.” He described making Katie wrinkle her nose at the memory of her telling Elijah that Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead was her man. “Or do you only have eyes for Klaus these days?”
“Yes, I only have eyes for Klaus, but I am also a red blooded American woman who can’t deny that Daryl Dixon is very attractive.” Katie told him honestly.
“And who pray tell is Daryl Dixon?” Katie heard Klaus’s voice behind her and turned to see him walk into the room having caught the end of her sentence.
“A fictional character from her favorite t.v. show.” Elijah answered for her as he stood up and Klaus walked around the couch and sat down next to her. “Blue eyes, dirty blond hair, questionable people skills…It seems she has a type.” Elijah said then saw himself out.
“You know, now that I think about it, the guy that plays Daryl is also an artist. Maybe I do have a type.” She thought out loud.
“You’re trying to make me jealous aren’t you?” Klaus asked with a glare to which she just held up her fingers in a pinching manner with a devious smile.
He glared at her and let a low, playful growl rumble up from his throat. “Okay,” she laughed, holding her hands up in surrender, “before you go all Big Bad Wolf on me…what did Father Kieran need?”
“He asked me to compel Camille to leave town.” He told her and she frowned. “The look on your face tells me I was right to seek your council before compelling her.”
“Why does he want her to leave town exactly?” she asked as she turned, pulling one of her knees up on the couch to face him.
“It seems compelling her to sleep easy and accept that her brother simply snapped, hasn’t had the desired effect. Her pursuit of what happened to her memories is leading her closer and closer to the dangerous truth. Father Kieran doesn’t want her to get mixed up in our world. I’ve stopped compelling her since moving here, but it’s too late. If I don’t compel her to leave she will get mixed up in all of this and you know better than anyone what happens to the people that get pulled into our world.” He explained.
“I also know that unfortunately some people are just meant to get mixed up in our world and will do so no matter what compulsion is worked on them.” She added. “Take Jeremy for example. Damon compelled him to leave town and forget about Vicki. He did, but Kol found him and pulled him back in. You can compel Cami to leave, but if someone wants to get to Father Kieran again they will just go after her and pull her back in. I’m not sure compelling her to leave and taking away her choice in the matter is the answer.”
“So do you think we should just let her find out the truth on her own?” he asked curiously.
“I think you should ask her what she wants. It was clear when I met her that she felt like she was going insane and compelling her to leave won’t fix that or the gaps in her memory.” She answered.
“Have you been compelled before?” Klaus asked.
“Nope and I hope it never happens. Which is why I picked up this while we were in the mansion.” She said as she pulled her vervain necklace from Damon out of her pocket. I figured since I can’t ingest vervain I could wear it just in case.” She explained.
He took in a deep breath and breathed it out. “So exactly what do you suggest I do?”
“Let her remember everything.” She started.
“She will despise me.” he pointed out.
“Maybe, but there’s also the chance that by letting her have a say and giving her back her free will she won’t. She may even choose for you to cover up everything supernatural with a story fabricated by her and choose to leave on her own. But I firmly believe it needs to be an educated decision on her part and that you need to respect her decision whatever it may be.”
“It will anger the priest if she doesn’t leave.” He pointed out.
“Just because he is her family doesn’t mean he knows what’s best for her or that he gets to dictate her life.” Katie shrugged. “Telling her everything includes that her uncle knows about vampires and witches. I didn’t agree with Elena messing with Jeremy’s memories and I didn’t use compulsion a lot when I was a vampire for a reason. I don’t like playing god and messing with people’s free will.” Klaus sighed and turned away from her as he leaned forward with his elbows on his knees and his hands clasped. “You know, just because you come to me for advice, doesn’t mean I’ll get mad if you don’t take it. I trust you to do whatever you think is best.”
“I’m just trying to figure out if I should warn Father Kieran of what I intend to do before we talk to Cami.” He said then sat up and looked at her.
“We?” Katie asked.
“I would like you to come with me. My presence tends to put her on edge however last I checked you managed to win her favor.” He told her with a look in his eyes that told her he was set on taking her advice.
“Okay.” She gave him a nod. “I’ll go with you.”

Katie stood next to Klaus who knocked on the door of Cami’s apartment. After a few seconds she answered, looking confused for a second before she remembered them. “What do you want?” she asked him with a glare, her eyes darting back and forth between the couple.
“We just want to talk.” Katie told her.
“According to your uncle you are on edge and not yourself.” Klaus added.
“And you’re here to what, compel me not to be?” Cami asked as she crossed her arms over her chest.
“Actually I was going to take your uncle’s advice and compel you to leave town. However after discussing things, we,” he looked at Katie then back at Cami, “believe that wouldn’t clear the root of your anxiety.” Klaus stated. “May we come in for a chat?” he asked with a motion inside considering the couple was still standing in the hallway.
“Sure, why not.” She answered sarcastically and stepped aside letting them in.
After explaining everything to her, she stared at them with tears in her eyes. “My uncle has known what happened to Sean this whole time?” she asked with a whisper and Katie nodded. “Why are you telling me about all of this if I’m just going to forget it when you leave?”
“Because we want to give you a choice in the matter.” Klaus answered then looked at Katie.
“Knowing what you do about this city is dangerous.” Katie took over. “It may very well mean the death of you, but we don’t want to manipulate you anymore. You can choose to remember everything, a little or nothing at all.” Katie explained. “Point is…how much you want to remember, if you leave or stay…it’s your choice.”
Cami just stared at them. “You do not have to decide today.” Klaus told her
“I want to remember, everything about everyone.” Cami answered, her stunning green eyes wide and watery.
“You’re sure?” Katie asked, needing to know that this was truly what she wanted.
“I’m positive.” Cami answered with a wide eyed nod.
“Okay.” Klaus answered then moved to kneel in front of Cami, placed his fingertips on her cheek and looked her in the eyes. “You will no longer forget about us when we leave your sight and you will remember everything. You…are…free.”
As Klaus stood up Cami blinked out of the compulsion then looked up at him. “Thank you, both of you.” when she looked at Katie she gave her a nod and a small smile.
“You’re welcome, although I’m sure your uncle will not be happy with me.” Klaus replied.
“Probably not, but he’ll just have to get over it.” Cami said as she stood up and crossed her arms over her chest with a smirk.

“What do you think about me letting Thierry out of the garden?” Klaus asked as they walked into their quarters.
“I don’t know.” Katie answered as she set her shoulder bag on the table by the door. “He’s only in there because you set him up. So he doesn’t really belong there, but at the same time if you let him out he might want revenge.”
“Or perhaps if I issue him a pardon he will be thankful enough to not try anything stupid.” He countered as he grabbed her hips and pulled her close.
“I’ve never met Thierry.” She answered as she slipped her hands up his chest and wrapped her arms around his neck. “It’s totally your call.”
“What about if I tell you I’m thinking about asking Diego to lead a rousting of the caldron?” he asked with a look at her eyes.
“Why?” she asked.
“With the loss of Davina we no longer have the edge over the witches. Not only will a rousting keep up the morale, but it will remind the witches who is in charge.” He answered. “I’m also hoping Marcel might join them. Getting back at the witches might do him some good.”
“If it will entertain the men and keep them happy along with keeping the witches on their toes then I say have at it.” Katie answered then pecked him on the lips.

Katie stood to the side of the courtyard watching as Klaus walked in with Thierry and announced to the handful of the top men that Thierry had been pardoned. They all clapped and welcomed Thierry home. “Well, you’re in a good mood.” Marcel said from where he sat at one of the patio tables with a bottle of bourbon and a glass. “You should visit Mystic Falls more often.”
“Well, as much as I’d like to, I have pressing responsibilities here.” Klaus said then got the attention of the people around him. “Now, as you all know, the witch Davina is no longer with us. Without Davina we can no longer monitor the activity of our witch neighbors. However, since their harvest failed their magic will soon be gone forever.”
Elijah walked up to stand beside Katie with his hand tucked into the pockets of his suit pants. “Was letting Thierry out your idea?”
“No, it was his.” Katie answered not looking away from Klaus.
“And the rousting?” Elijah asked.
“Also his idea to keep the witches on their toes and lift morale.” She answered seeing Marcel grab his bottle and walk away, not interested in the rousting. “Although it’s not working for Marcel, not that I thought it would.”

Katie, Elijah, Klaus, Diego and a few of the daywalkers stood in the courtyard looking at the two desiccated daywalkers that were killed at the rousting. A small symbol carved on their foreheads. “Someone will die for this.” Klaus stated.
Elijah kneeled, looking at the forehead of one of the men. “Remarkably, I don’t disagree. However I would like to know where they learned such dark magic.” Elijah stood up and turned to Klaus who stood next to Katie with his hand on her lower back. “I had hoped never to see that symbol again.”
“I recall it is the signature of a fool who once stood against us. Clearly, some upstart witch is salvaging old tricks. I’ll do for him as I did the other.” Klaus said then walked over to Diego. “Diego, when night falls, I want you to gather every vampire in the quarter. Get me the head of whoever did this and put it on a stick.”
“Yeah, that’s gonna be a problem.” Diego replied and Katie frowned. “Everyone’s freaked out man. We haven’t had witches killing vampires in a long time. Marcel made sure of that.”
“Marcel has run off like a scared child.” Klaus replied and clapped his hand down on Diego’s shoulder. “You lot are left with me.” he took his hand off Diego’s shoulder and back away, turning his eyes to the other daywalkers. “Now, who of you will fight to defend our home?” no one said anything. “Not a single one of you will stand with me. So afraid are you of this new threat? You should know better.” Klaus looked away from them to Katie to see her giving the daywalkers a frowning glare. “I’ll handle this myself.”
Katie and Elijah watched Klaus walk out like the man on a mission that he was. Katie looked at the daywalkers, scoffed with a roll of her eyes and started to walk off. “You got something to say, queen?” the female daywalker with dark hair spiked up into a mohawk asked.
“Actually yeah, I do.” Katie answered as she walked over. “You were all given the privilege of a daylight ring to protect this city. And now when you’re needed most you tuck your tails and hide? The hell kind of soldier cowers from a fight?”
“The kind that doesn’t bow to Klaus Mikaelson.” The tough looking brunette standing next to the mohawked woman answered. “And Marcel advised us to stay out of the fight with the witches.”
“Marcel is stuck in a cloud of grief and not thinking clearly. Or did you all forget how much he cared about Davina?” Katie asked with furrowed brows. “The fact of the matter is your people, your fellow vampires, are being threatened and you’re just going to stand back and watch. How is that the right thing to do?”
“Is right because it keeps us safe.” Mohawk girl argued.
“Oh my god.” Katie laughed with a look at Elijah as she threw her hands up in frustration. “Why do I even bother when it’s clear you are all a bunch of selfish fools?” as she turned toward the stairs she saw Diego look at her as if he agreed with her then back at his people. Contrary to the tone he took with her at the dinner Klaus threw when they first moved back into the compound, Katie actually liked Diego. Of course he was loyal to Marcel, but he also seemed to have a good head on his shoulders. Elijah followed her up to what she was starting to think of as the common room. She made herself comfortable on the couch and Elijah went to the bar in the corner of the room and poured himself a drink. “Should I have kept my mouth shut?”
“No.” Elijah answered without a second thought. “You are their queen and as such you have the right to speak your mind.”
“But what if what I have to say isn’t the right thing or if I make things worse?” she asked with a sigh. “You and Klaus built this place, you both have experience at being leaders. I’m just a weirdo that lived two lives and has never been given authority over anything before.”
“Based on what I just witnessed, I believe you will do just fine.” Elijah answered honestly as he walked over and sat in the armchair across from her. Katie just grabbed a throw pillow as she leaned her head back then pressed it to her face with a groan. Elijah smirked at her dramatics.

When night fell Katie started to worry about Klaus and went down to the courtyard to wait and found Elijah pacing with his phone to his ear. When he pulled it away and hung up Katie gave him a look that asked what was wrong. “Rebekah’s not answering her phone.”
“You worried about her?” Katie asked as she tucked her hands into the front pocket of the dark grey hoodie with a pink Under Armour symbol of the front of it.
“Frankly I’m worried that she had something to do with this. She’s very displeased with Niklaus.” He told her with a worried frown.
“Well, she does love to conspire against him.” Katie said with a tilt of her head.
“Yes and I believe this time she’s had help.” He told her as he turned his eyes to Thierry, sitting at a patio table by himself in the courtyard littered with other vampires, mostly night walkers lounging around. “Thierry, is it?” Elijah asked as he and Katie walked over to him.
“That’s right.” Thierry answered skeptically.
“My sister is rather fond of you. It's strange, she’s not typically drawn to unremarkable men.” Thierry looked at him with fear in his eyes. “Would you care to explain your sudden magnetism?”
“I don’t know what you’re-” with a woosh Elijah grabbed Theirry by his neck and pinned him to the wall of the arching hallway that led to the front doors.
“You can either tell me what you know or I can distribute tiny pieces of you throughout the quarter.” Elijah told him as Katie rushed over to them.
“She asked me to keep and eye out on witch stuff.” Thierry answered with a groan. “I found something and when I showed her we were jumped by some guy. He desiccated her with his touch.”
Elijah who had loosened his grip a little while Thierry was talking slammed his head back into the wall again. “Like a coward, you left her.”
“What was I supposed to do, fight some warlock that took out an original?” Thierry asked in fear of his life.
Katie pushed her hair back out of her face. “Where did you leave Rebekah?”
“The docks, warehouse 57.” Thierry answered while looking at Elijah. “I was just doing what she asked.” He looked at Katie. “You cannot tell Klaus about this.”
Elijah threw Thierry head first into the wall behind them. “We shall take that into consideration.” He gave Katie a smirk then started for the doors.
“Take me with you.” Elijah turned and gave her a look that told her she was out of her mind. “As much as I like my home I don’t feel safe in it without you, Klaus or Rebekah here. It’s no secret these people don’t like me.”
Elijah pondered it for a moment. “You do not leave my side, understand?”
“Yep.” She answered, popping the p at the end of the word as she headed for the door.
Elijah grabbed her hand, stopping her. “I am serious.”
“I know, Elijah, but you and your brother need to remember that while I am human and pregnant I’m not made of glass. I know my limits.”
He took his hand off her wrist. “Very well then.” He pulled the large wooden door open and waved her out.

They found Rebekah in the warehouse lying in the center of a salt circle with other witchy symbols drawn in salt, and a dead snake inside of it. When they tried to step inside it and get her out they hit an invisible wall. “Of course there would be a boundary spell keeping us out.” Katie sighed then kicked the wall.
Elijah saw the symbol on her forehead. “Someone’s channeling her. Typically it’s a lethal process, but because she’s an original, she can’t die. Instead she’s an endless source of power.”
“You wouldn’t happen to know how to break this kind of boundary spell would you?” Katie asked and he shook his head, his brown eyes wide with worry. “I’ll call Bonnie, you try Sophie.” He gave her a nod and they both pulled out their cell phones.
Sophie answered before Bonnie so Katie gave up and listened to Elijah talking to Sophie who was on speaker phone. “You’re not listening. We cannot enter the circle. There’s some kind of confinement spell or… If I cant remove her, we can’t break the link.” Elijah explained.
“It’s a convoluted spell. It’s like a witch’s recipe. You can spoil the balance by adding a more potent ingredient, a mystical binding agent.” As Sophie spoke, Elijah turned to Katie with wide eyes then kneeled near the circle. “I don’t know, volcanic ash, rock salt, anything up to and including eye of newt.”
“What about the blood of a witch?” Elijah asked and Katie placed her hands on her stomach.
“Do you have the blood of a witch?” Sophie asked, confused and Elijah hung up on her as he looked from the circle to Katie. “I need a favor.”
Without a second thought Katie held her hand out to Elijah and watched as he took it and bit the fleshy part of her hand between her pinky and wrist. Like usual Katie didn’t even flinch from the pain his sharp fangs piercing her soft skin caused. When they held her hand over the outer line of salt and dripped her blood on it the salt started to bubble and smoke, working its way around the circle back to her blood droplets. “Did it work?” Her question was answered when Elijah stepped into the circle, picked up Rebekah and whooshed her out of it.

“So I’m guessing you want me to keep the fact that Rebekah is conspiring with Thierry to myself?” Katie asked as she slid into the passenger seat of Elijah’s Lincoln.
“Yes.” Elijah answered as he shut the back driver’s side door having laid Rebekah in the back seat. “If you wouldn’t mind.”
“I don’t like keeping secrets from him, but…” she paused as she grabbed the seat belt strap and buckled herself in, “he has asked me to let him worry about Rebekah and to not stress over her. So, I will let you two worry about your sister while I worry about whoever is behind these weird marks on people’s heads.”
“His name was Papa Tunde.” Elijah started, then proceeded to tell her about the dark witch and former leader of the French quarter coven in the early twentieth century. How he used sacrificial magic to gain the power needed to make the city the witches once again. But Klaus studied him, figured out his strengths and weakness and in doing so figured out that Papa Tunde was channeling the power of his twin sons, killed them, then killed Papa Tunde.
When Rebekah woke up she informed them that it wasn’t a copycat, Papa Tunde was alive.

“Elijah has informed me that you had a talk with the inner circle.” Klaus said as he walked out onto the balcony where Katie was sitting on the patio couch looking through Davina’s drawings.
“They poked, I bit back.” She answered honestly as she kept her eyes on the drawings she was flipping through.
“He also said you handled yourself well and did a good job of putting them in their place.” He said as he took the papers from her hands, shut the large folder they were in and set them on the table.
“Yet they didn’t venture out to help you did they?” she asked as he sat down on the couch beside her and pulled her to straddle his lap.
“No,” he answered as she rested her hands on his chest and his held her outer thighs, “but you did.”
She lifted her eyes to his, a hint of guilt in them. “Are you angry?”
“No.” his answer surprised her and her face showed it. “He said you didn’t feel safe here without one of us around and I never want you to feel unsafe.” He moved his hands to hold her sides over the thick hoodie she still wore. “Now, as for the cowardly vampires, Marcel and I have discussed giving them an ultimatum. Either they stay and prove themselves to me or they get out of my city.”
“The only thing I know about an army is when they aren’t acting like one.” She replied as she moved her hands to hold the sides of his neck. “If you and Marcel think this is what’s best then I trust you.” he gave her a small smile before he realized her hands were sucking the warmth out of his neck.
“Your hands are like ice, Love, what are you doing out here?” he asked as he took her hands off of his neck and started rubbing them to warm them up.
“Just thinking.” She answered. “We never figured out why Davina was drawing Celeste. It couldn’t have been to warn us that Sophie was going to use her magic to complete the harvest, there was no magic to consecrate.”
“Will you do me a favor and not freeze to death in the process of figuring it out?” he asked with puppy dog eyes.
She laughed. “Sure.” With a whoosh he brought her inside, shut the balcony door and set her on her feet near the fire that was lit in the fireplace.
“So would you like to stand with me while I give my speech?” he asked from where he stood behind her with his arms wrapped around her chest.
“No. Contrary to what they seem to think, I’m your queen, not theirs.” She answered. “I won’t be their queen until they respect me and they won’t respect me until they respect you. So, you lead the way and I’ll follow.” She said as she turned in his arms and pecked him on the lips.

Katie stood on the balcony overlooking the courtyard across from the one Klaus stood on, the vampires of the French Quarter gathered below. “Not long ago, you all united against me. You failed. Since then, in my benevolence, I have wiped the slate clean. Yet it seems clear you think that I am the one who needs to earn your respect, your loyalty. You’re mistaken.” Klaus spoke, looking down at the vampires. “It is you who must prove yourselves to me. Our community is under attack. I require soldiers. I need warriors, not cowards.” He held his hands out at the people below. “Each of you has a decision to make. You either fight alongside me, or you leave…Now.”
The vampires started murmuring amongst themselves, no one moving until Thierry stepped up and looked up at Klaus. “We don’t owe you anything.” The vampires stopped talking and looked at Thierry. “If staying in the quarter means living under your rule, I’d just as soon get the hell out.” He turned and looked at Diego who gave him a look that told him he wasn’t leaving. Thierry shrugged and left. A little over a fourth of the vampires followed his lead. Katie noticed that none of the people that she had spoken to earlier that day left with Thierry and she couldn’t help but wonder if she’d made a difference or if they stayed because Marcel was still here.

Klaus and Marcel shared a drink at the bar in the corner of the common room while Katie sat on the sofa and Sophie stood near the lighted bookshelf that was built into the wall on each side of the fireplace and held records and a record player. “I’ve got no reason to help you, and I sure as hell don’t have a reason to help him.” Sophie told Klaus with a motion at Marcel.
“Now, now, don’t be difficult, love.” Klaus told Sophie as he moved to sit at the table in the room. “You’ll only live as long as you’re of use to us and right now, your best use is to explain why a witch I killed 100 years ago has come back for revenge.”
“Come on, resurrected witches with vast power?” Sophie told them as if they should be able to figure it out. “It’s the harvest. Four girls were meant to die and be reborn. I don’t know how, but someone jacked that power and they used it to bring back 4 witches…just not the right ones.”
“So there’s still a chance. If we can get that power back, we can save Davina.” Marcel said with an almost excited look between Klaus and Sophie.
“Let’s concentrate on the immediate problem, shall we?” Klaus asked. “Papa Tunde wants revenge. He’ll continue to attack us, channeling power from the vampires he sacrifices. He kills, he grows more dangerous. So, how do I end him?” Klaus asked, talking with his hands as he thought out loud.
“He needs sacrifices to gain power.” Sophie pointed out. “Keep him from killing anymore nightwalkers, that’s a start.”
“Unless…” Klaus looked up at Marcel, “he finds the one place with a load of vampires ready to be sacrificed.”
“The garden.” Katie thought out loud.
“The garden.” Klaus confirmed with a nod as he stood up and he and Marcel headed for the door. “Katie-”
“I’ll stay here.” she told him and he gave her a thankful nod before he disappeared out of her sight.

Katie was eating a small dinner in their quarters when Klaus came in and sat down across from her with a glass of blood in his hand. “He got to the garden and drained every last soul in it.”
She took the last bite of her salad and pushed the empty bowl away. “So now what do we do?”
“I say we figure that out in the morning.” He sounded tired as he lifted his eyes to hers. With that one look she knew exactly what he needed. So as soon as he was done with his glass of blood she walked around the table and held his hand out to hers. He put his in hers and let her lead him to their bedroom.
“Lay in the center of the bed, arms outstretched and eyes closed please.” She told him and he gave her a curious look. “Just do it.” she told him then disappeared into the bathroom. When she came back out she found him lying as she said, minus his shirt. “I didn’t ask you to take your shirt off.” She laughed.
“You didn’t ask me not to either.” He pointed out with a smirk keeping his eyes closed. “Will it be a problem?”
Katie picked up his shirt from where he had put it on the bed and replaced her own with it, loving the spicy scent of his cologne. “Nope. You know I love the view.” She answered as she sat down beside him, squeezed some hand cream into her palm and rubbed her hands together to warm it up before she picked up his hand and worked the cream into his skin.
“What are you doing?” he asked only to get shushed by her which made him chuckle. However, his laugh was cut off when she dug her thumbs into the heel of his palm and slid them outward. She repeated the action up his arm, halfway to his elbow, then back down and focused on one of her favorite parts of his body.
After spending a good ten minutes kneading every muscle and joint of his left hand she straddled him and kissed her ways across his chest then sat down at his right side. Another content sigh left his relaxed, parted lips when she started massaging his other hand. When she’d spent just as much time on his right hand as she did the left she started working her way up his arm, but before she could massage any further he grabbed the back of her neck with one hand, wrapped the other around her waist and rolled her over so that he was hovering above her. “You’re too good to me.” his blue eyes looked lovingly into hers.
“I would argue that I don’t show how much I appreciate you often enough.” She argued as she slid her hands from his sides that she’d grabbed out of instinct, up to rest on his chest, feeling the beating of his heart.
“You don’t have to. It’s in your eyes every time you look at me.” he said then caught her bottom lip between his and she sighed into the gentle yet intense kiss.

Katie sat on the bed watching Klaus get dressed for the first public service at Saint Ann’s since Sean massacred his fellow seminary students and himself. “Are you sure you don’t want to come with me and get out of the compound for a bit?”
“Yeah.” She answered. “We still don’t know where Papa Tunde is. Plus, I stopped being a beliver somewhere around 1822.” She slipped off the bed and walked over to him as he shrugged on his jacket.
“So you said that these people won’t respect you until they respect me.” he started as he put his hands on her hips and Katie hummed a positive answer. “I feel like I have forced the position of queen of the French quarter on you.”
“Maybe a little.” She agreed with a so-what shrug.
“Do you even want to be their queen?” he asked.
“I don’t feel like I deserve the position, but you’re their king and I’m your partner in crime. It only makes sense that I’m queen.” She reasoned.
“Yes, but is it something you want?” he asked with a pointed look.
“I haven’t thought much about it to be honest, so I don’t know if it’s something I want.” She shrugged with a frown.
“Okay, to help you decide, why don’t we use today as a trial run.” He offered.
“What do you mean?” she asked with a confused shake of her head.
“While Marcel and I are out, if a problem arises Diego will come to you with it.” he told her and she just stared at him with wide eyes. “You don’t have to. If you feel better with how things are now, with you behind the scenes, I will be fine with that too.”
She thought about it for a minute. She never saw herself as a leader but since coming to New Orleans she’d been helping as Klaus said, behind the scenes, but if she stepped up as Queen she’d be putting herself directly in the limelight working with Diego and Marcel. Was that really something she wanted? “I want to stay behind the scenes. If I change my mind later I’ll let you know.” She answered and then looked at the clock. “You better get going or you’ll be late.” He pecked her on the lips then left.

Katie was bundled up in a hoodie and yoga pants, reading a book on the private balcony when a knock sounded from the door of their quarters. So she closed her book and answered it revealing Diego on the other side. “Hey, Klaus isn’t here.”
“I know, but I thought you should know the witches left us a package in the courtyard.” He told her then jerked his head for her to follow him.
“Did Klaus ask you to keep me in the loop?” Katie asked, sounding confused as she followed him.
“Na, but you’re our queen now right?” he asked as they walked down the stairs.
“Seems that way.” As they walked into the courtyard the bright white suit of Papa Tunde caught her eyes. “What the hell…?” she asked, taking in the slit across the dead man’s neck.
“Either our witch problems are over, or they’re just getting started.” Diego told her as he too looked down at the body.
“I’m gonna go with just getting started.” Katie said, noticing that the symbol he was laying on was the one he used to channel the power of his offerings. “He doesn’t have the mark on his head.” she thought out loud.
“Yeah, so?” Diego asked, sounding more confused than snarky.
“So whoever killed him thankfully didn’t absorb his power.” She answered. “Which was a lot considering he drained the entire garden last night.” She looked over the body in thought. “It also mean’s he most likely didn’t become anyone’s sensei during the short time he was on our side. No smart witch would let power like that go unclaimed.” She looked up from the body to Diego. ”Sorry if you had friends in the garden.”
“I didn’t,” he answered, “but a few did walk away.”
“Well, for what it’s worth I’m glad you stayed.” She told him as she tucked her hands into the pocket of her hoodie then looked at the other inner circle vampires standing around the courtyard, including the two women that had sassed her the day before. “All of you.”
“Yeah, well, getting called a coward by a human tends to make you rethink your actions.” Mohawk girl said with a tilt of her head and a shrugged shoulder.
“I see my lovely queen is already on top of things.” Klaus said as he walked into the courtyard with Marcel.
“If by on top of things you mean gawking and trying to figure out how someone as powerful as him ended up with a slit throat and left in our courtyard then yeah, I’m on top of things.” Katie answered a little sarcastically.
Elijah came downstairs and kneeled down by the body. After a few minutes of Elijah looking Tunde over Klaus asked, “Can I get you anything brother, a magnifying glass, a pipe perhaps?”
“Do you have a theory that you’d like to share with us, Niklaus?” Elijah asked.
“Back in the day, if the witches wanted to send a threat, they’d just kill a chicken and leave it on your doorstep.” Marcel spoke up.
“It’s a rather large and ominous chicken, wouldn’t you say?” Elijah asked as he stood up.
“Papa Tunde defeated Rebekah with ease, almost got the two of us as well. If he was supposed to be their prized fighter, why leave him for dead in our front yard?” Klaus asked.
Before anyone else could say anything Rebekah walked in. “Well, don’t you all look cheery?” she asked as she joined the circle around Papa Tunde. “Listen to this. A girl literally exploded from a grave today as Sabine was giving her tour of the city of the dead.” Everyone perked up giving her their full attention. “It was Monique Deveraux.”
“What?” both Katie and Klaus asked at the same time.
“The tourists thought it was part of the show, but the witches are celebrating like it’s some kind of bloody miracle.” Rebekah told them. Katie realized then that Papa Tunde’s death redirected the magic that raised him back to the rightful owner, Monique.
“Maybe it is. They think that all hope is lost, but now suddenly a harvest girl is resurrected.” Marcel said, his brain taking the same path as Katie’s. “This is how we’re gonna get Davina back. Kill the witch that took her place.”
“Well, Davina was drawing pictures of a dead witch.” Katie spoke up making everyone look at her. “It stands to reason that Celeste could be the witch that took her place.”
“First Papa Tunde returns to settle old scores.” Klaus said with a point to the dead Papa Tunde, then pointed at Elijah. “Now your murdered lover is back. This isn’t witches attacking vampires. They are declaring war on us.”
“Awesome.” Katie sighed letting her head fall forward.

Katie was in the kitchen making herself an early lunch when Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah found her. “Okay, what’s with the family gathering?” she asked with suspicious eyes.
“We would like to talk to you about your safety here.” Elijah answered.
“Mkay.” She drawled.
“With three more resurrected witches out and about we think it would be best if you left the quarter for a little while.” Klaus told her.
“So, as your future sister in law, I’d like to accompany you to the plantation house.” Rebekah said with a hopeful smile.
Katie looked at Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah then back at Klaus. “And you all agree that this is what’s best?” she asked and he nodded. “Then I’ll go.”
“That seems too easy.” Rebekah pointed out skeptically.
“Well, you guys have a war on your hands. You need all hands on deck and my puny human ones, fighting skills and magic muting bombs aside, are more of an obstacle than an asset.” She pointed out.
“Magic muting bombs?” Rebekah asked with a confused face.
“Bonnie gave me a going away present.” She explained. “Bombs like the vervain one Elena used on you after Rose and what’s his face kidnapped her.” she told Elijah. “Only these are full of a crushed herb that when inhaled by a witch will mute their power. But I only have three and I need to save them for when, slash if my back is ever against the wall.”
“Leave it to the Bennett witch.” Rebekah said clearly impressed.
“You two can’t think clearly if you’re constantly worrying about me and the baby.” she told Klaus and Elijah then looked at Rebekah. “So I’ll go pack a bag and meet you out front. I’m driving.”
“But your car’s a junker.” Rebekah argued.
“It is not a junker, it’s well loved and the only thing I’ve ever earned and paid for myself. I just got it back, I’m driving.” Katie argued making Klaus and Elijah smirk at her as she left the kitchen, her bowl of lunch in her hand.

“I had hoped to not spend another night in this house again any time soon.” Katie complained as she and Rebekah rocked in the rocking chairs on the front porch, taking in the cold night air.
“Yet you agreed to come here.” Rebekah pointed out. “With me even though you don’t trust me.”
“I don’t trust you when it comes to your attempts to thwart Klaus’s rule, but I do trust you when it comes to keeping this baby, and therefore me, safe.” Katie corrected her then hugged herself. Even in the thick hoodie she was freezing. “I’m gonna turn in for the night.”
Instead of going to sleep Katie sat at the piano in a small room playing what her fingers could remember of what her mother had taught her. When her phone started ringing she pulled it out of her pocket to see that it was Elijah. “Hey, what’s up?”
“Where are you?” he asked, sounding worried.
“The plantation house where I’m supposed to be.” She answered with a frown.
“Where’s Rebekah?” he asked.
“Outside last I checked. Elijah, what’s wrong?” she asked as she stood from the piano headed to the front door.
“You were right. Celeste is back.” he told her as he pulled the front door open. “Niklaus, Rebekah, you’re all in danger.” As she tried to walk out the door slammed shut and Katie yelped. “Katie, you have to find Rebekah and stay with her until I get there.”
“Elijah, I can’t. Those stupid witches are trapping me in the house” she told him as she rushed to the back door only for it to catch fire making her yelp and jump back. “Damn it!”
“I’m on my way.” Elijah hung up. Every exit she tried burst into flames, the door to the rooms she ran through shut behind her until she was trapped in the piano room that wasn’t on fire, but when she tried to kick the window open a line of fire spread along the walls completely trapping her. Not knowing what else to do she took off the hoodie she was wearing and the tank top underneath, poured the glass of sweet tea she’d been drinking while playing the piano on the tank top then lowered herself to the floor where less smoke was likely to be. Even with the filter she’d created, smoke still managed to make its way into her lungs making her cough. She was starting to feel light headed when Elijah whooshed in through a window, scooped her up, whooshed her out into the fresh air and laid her on the hard drive way out front. “Where’s Rebekah?”
“I don’t know.” Katie answered as she sat up still coughing. “Last I saw she was on the front porch.” He grabbed the hoodie she’d been clutching in her hand and pulled it over her head then helped her stand up and bit his wrist. She drank enough to heal her smoke ridden lungs then pushed it away.
“Aww you healed her. How sweet.” the voice of Sabine made them both turn from the house to see her walking up the drive to them. Elijah pushed Katie behind him with a defensive stance. “You won’t hurt me. I’m the only one alive who can break the curse on Hayley’s family.” Katie had no idea what curse she was talking about, but at the moment she didn’t care because another redheaded witch walked up to stand beside Sabine who Katie guessed was really Celeste. “And Genevieve knows where your sister is.” Another older witch joined the women. “Bastianna has Klaus tucked away someplace safe. He’s suffering horribly, I might add, and all because you chose to save the little human instead of your own blood.”
Elijah took a few steps toward Celeste and she held her hand up, the sickening crack of bones breaking filled the air a second before Elijah yelled out in pain and sank to his knees. “Stop!” Katie yelled as she rushed to Elijah’s side holding his shoulder, wishing she could help, but she’d stupidly left the grenades in her car. “Stop hurting him.”
“Oh I’m going to do more than hurt him.” Celeste told her then looked at Elijah. “What a horrific ending,” Celeste closed her hand into a fist causing Elijah to yell out again, “to your pathetic diseased family.” Celeste opened her hand and closed it again torturing Elijah. “I guess always isn’t forever after all.” Celeste twisted her fist snapping his neck before the three witches walked away. Not knowing what else to do Katie sat down next to Elijah and waited for him to wake up.

“Marcel!” Elijah yelled as he and Katie walked into the compound courtyard. “Where is my brother?”
“I’ve got guys out looking for him right now.” Marcel answered with his hands held out in a calming manner. When two men stepped in front of Marcel, Elijah grabbed them and threw them aside.
“Was that really necessary?” Katie asked with a frown at Elijah’s temper.
“Klaus threw one of his classic temper tantrums, snapped my neck, tried to take on a coven of witches by himself. He got dropped.” Marcel explained. “I don’t know where he is or how to find him.”
“They also have Rebekah.” Elijah informed him then turned his eyes to the vampires around them. “Every! One of you, will help me to find them.” He pointed at the vampires then looked at Marcel. “I’m going to kill them all.”

Katie was getting out of the shower from washing the stench of smoke from her hair and skin when she heard a knock on the door. So she threw on a robe and answered it to see Elijah. She stepped aside and jerked her head for him to come inside. “Are you okay?”
“Physically yeah, mentally not so much.” She answered as she went to the bedroom and grabbed a tank top and a pair of pajama bottoms. She changed in the bathroom and came back out to find Elijah leaning on the archway. “So the night walkers are looking for Klaus and Rebekah?” She asked as she sat down on the bed and pulled her leg up on it.
“Yes, I was going to join them, but I didn’t want to leave you unprotected.” He told her as he walked further into the room. “They are originals, they can’t die.”
“But I can.” She added. “Is that why you saved me? Because they can’t die but this baby and I can?”
“Yes.” He answered with a nod. “However I also gave you and Niklaus my word. I will not let anything happen to you or the child.”
“Well, whatever your reasons…thank you.” she told him with a tired blink.
“I will let you get some sleep.” He turned to leave.
But she stopped him, “Elijah?” he turned to her with questioning eyes. “I really don’t mean to send the wrong signal here and I have no right to ask after leaving you in the bayou with a werewolf bite, but I haven’t spent a night by myself since moving here and with the witches after revenge…” she shook her head. “Never mind.”
“I will stay, if that’s what you’re asking.” He told her seriously.
“That's what I’m asking.” She told him with a nod that he returned as he watched her slide under the sheet and comforter. He laid on the other side of the bed on top of the comforter facing her. After laying in the dark for a while Katie asked, “What curse was Sabine or Celeste or whatever she wants to be called, talking about?”
“Hayley’s family has been cursed to spend most of their time as wolves, only being human on the full moon.” He answered. Katie couldn’t help but wonder why that meant so much to him that Celeste though it was enough to keep her alive. She knew Elijah well enough to know that he’d either given Hayley his word that he’d help her break the curse on her people in return for helping him during his time in the bayou or he’d developed feelings for Hayley. “You can ask whatever it is you’re not asking. I hide nothing from you.”
“Why does the fact that Celeste is the only one who can break that curse matter to you so much that it would keep you from killing her?” she asked. “I mean why would you go out of your way to break a curse on werewolves without there being something in it for you or someone you care about?”
“I have given Hayley my word that I would help her people.” He answered. “I also started courting her during the week you were gone with Niklaus.” Forgetting that he could see her even though she couldn’t see him she smiled. “This pleases you?”
“If she brings you even the slightest bit of happiness then, yes, it pleases me.” she answered then yawned. “The sooner I go to sleep the sooner I can help you find Klaus. So, goodnight, Elijah.”
“Goodnight.”

Chapter 4 (The Innocent)
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Halloween finally came around and traditional shut in was happening at Ruby’s, like usual, and the crew was there, sans Cesar. Monse, Jamal, and Elizabeth were in costume while Olivia was getting into hers inside her room. Monse was a lifeguard, Jamal was a hospital patient, Elizabeth was Harley Quinn from the Suicide Squad, and Ruby was a vampire.
“Eighty-six the chat and focus,” Ruby interrupted the talking, “this is gonna be our best shut in ever. But we have to follow protocol,”
“Dude, we know the drill,” Elizabeth rolled her eyes.
“This year’s gonna be different. It’s not about our survival. It’s about Olivia. There was magic in our first dance,” Ruby sighed.
“Have you guys been to Brentwood?” Jamal asked from the dining table.
“I haven’t, J,” Elizabeth turned to face him.
“My parents are out so I set up touch control LED lighting,” Ruby turned the lights on, “Bordello Red. Nightmare on Elm Street us gonna get Olivia scared…” Ruby sat on the couch, “a little lappy,”
“You know that’s creepy, right?” Monse asked.
“One step ahead of you,” Ruby grabbed the blanket over the couch, “little cover in case of wood,”
“Speaking of wood, Brentwood sounds kind of fun,” Jamal tried to get his ideas on the table.
Elizabeth looked around at the couches, “where is Cesar sitting?”
“In Oscar’s Impala,” Ruby replied.
“He’s not coming? Why? It’s tradition,” Monse rushed out.
“Who cares?” Ruby shrugged.
The door busted open and Cesar walked into the house, “shut in!”
“B-but I thought you were with Oscar?” Ruby stuttered, looking horrified at the sight of his best friend in the house.
“Good to see you too,” Cesar smiled sarcastically.
“Nice costume, Julius,” Elizabeth chuckled as the two did their own handshake.
“No, it’s fine. It’s just…”Ruby sighed, “take a seat, any seat,” Cesar moved to sit on the loveseat, but Ruby quickly shoved him away, “not the loveseat and don’t block my scented candle,”
Olivia walked out of her room with her costume on, “What do you think?”
Ruby looked stunned and grabbed the blanket, “that looks nice,”
“When are we going out?” the new girl asked the group.
“Never. Trick or treating in Freeridge is a no go,” Ruby said.
“Why?”
“You might wanna sit down. I’ll be brief,” Ruby sat down on the loveseat with Olivia, “In 2012, Prohets rolled up on us. Glocks to our head and snatched our bags. 2013, we were kissing pavement all night. Caught in a drive-by. That night we lost our candy and perhaps out innocence,”
“Can we talk?” Monse asked Cesar.
“I’m good,” Cesar responded.
Elizabeth grabbed both of their arms and pulled them to the hallway, “listen here, estupidos. Y’all are going to talk and chop it up. Bye, I need to piss,”
By the time she got back, she realized that they were going to Brentwood for Halloween, but she wasn’t complaining because they gave out big candy bars. Abuelita came in and ushered the kids inside her car so she could drive them to Brentwood. After the hour drive, they arrived at sun down and the kids were exiting.
“Buena suerte,” Abuelita smiled at the kids.
“We don’t need luck,” Ruby chuckled, “It’s Brentwood. Nothing bad happens here,”
“How about OJ?” Cesar brought up, “no offense, Jamal,”
“Oh, I’m good. We don’t claim him,”
“So, we should be ready around ten,” Ruby leaned in the window.
“Good for you, but I have plans,” Abuelita said, driving off.
The six turned towards the neighborhood, “we are not in Freeride anymore,”
“We have lots of ground to cover, so to maximize candy efficiency, let’s divide and conquer then split our booty,” Jamal faced the crew.
“Great idea. Olivia and I will go this way. Meet back here at 10?” Ruby dragged Olivia in one direction.
“Jamal,” Cesar and Monse said together.
“On second thought, I’ll go with Eli,” Cesar walked to Elizabeth.
The crew split ways and once Elizabeth and Cesar were out of earshot from the crew she started asking Cesar questions, “wassup with you and Monse?”
“The night of homecoming, Monse said that I wasn’t safe,” Cesar sighed, “it sucks because it’s true,”
“Salad, I know it hurt when she said that, but give her time,” Elizabeth wrapped an arm around him, “after all you are a new Santo and she never dated one either,”
“You’re probably right,” Cesar smiled, “What’s up with you and my brother?”
“We are...getting closer,” Elizabeth cheesed really hard, “I told him about my dad and he took me to a pretty special place.
“You told him about tu papa?” Cesar asked, shocked with the fact that she opened up to Oscar that much, “well I hope you guys work,”
“Yeah, but I don’t know how to do these things, like relationships and whatnot,” Elizabeth stressed, “I’ve never done this, but I’m starting it with this big bad gang leader,”
“I would tell you, but obviously mine isn’t going so great,” Cesar laughed.
“Headass,” Elizabeth laughed and caught sight of a familiar boy and girl, “ain’t that Ruby and Olivia?”
Cesar turned and saw the two, “yeah. Let’s go catch up,”
When the two finally caught up, they caught sight of the party across the street.
“You know what would be crazy cool?” Olivia asked Ruby, “if we crash that party,” she pointed at the house across the street.
“I don’t know. They look like the’re at capacity. We don’t wanna create a fire hazard,” Ruby stared at the house.
Elizabeth face palmed, but went to the two, “what’s up, guys! Olivia, if you could excuse us a second? Thank you,” “Compa,” Cesar looked at the short friend, “you need to not be you,”
“Me? What’s wrong with me?” Ruby looked at the two of them confused.
Cesar pointed to Elizabeth who started talking in a weird voice, “‘I don’t know. They look like the’re at capacity. We don’t wanna create a fire hazard,’ dude, be outside Ruben,”
“Take her to the party,” Cesar walked back to Olivia.
Ruby followed, “New plan. Let’s tear that party up!”
Ten minutes later into the party, Ruby was coming back to the group with a plate full of food and an excited expression on his face. He went to the couch where most of the crew was sitting at, “everyone here is so friendly. I told someone I was from Freeridge and got major props. Hood must be trending,” Ruby held out the plate out to Olivia, “here’s some napkins and lemon wedges,”
“You’re so thoughtful and always such a gentleman,” Olivia smiled.
“Gentleman, scholar, and a damn good swimmer too,” Cesar tried to hype Ruby up, but was going above and beyond.
Olivia handed the plate to Cesar, “Excuse me, it’s time for my adventure to find the restroom and wait in a long line,”
“I’ll come with,” Elizabeth smiled at the new girl.
“Awesome! Let’s go,” the two walked to find the restroom, “so, anyone special?”
Elizabeth chuckled, “maybe. I don’t know, we’re kinda just taking it slow,”
“Is it Cesar? You guys seem close,” Olivia looked down.
Elizabeth couldn’t help, but laugh, “definitely not. He’s just a friend, nothing more! However, this person that I’m taking it slow with is close with Cesar,”
The two finally arrived at the bathroom and paused the conversation until after Olivia was done using the restroom. After a few minutes, she emerged from the restroom and the two decided to go find something to drink and arrived in the kitchen, looking through the fridge, while Elizabeth settled with a soda in a bin.
“Is he in the group?” Olivia smiled big.
“Nope,” Elizabeth smirked, “you’re not gonna know, but I feel like you’re gonna end up finding out soon so I guess just wait,”
The two laughed when they made their way back to the boys, but saw a group of white boys talking to them. Elizabeth sat next to Cesar while Olivia stood next to her.
“Hey,” Olivia smiled.
The white boy dressed as a cholo saw the juice in her hand, “Where’d you get that?”
“From the fridge,”
“That’s my mom’s pressed juice,”
“Oh, I’m sorry,” Olivia started.
“She’s on a cleanse,” the white boy stressed, “she knows exactly how many bottles there are,”
“I had no idea. I just wanted a drink and I just assumed…” Olivia got cut off.
“What? That you could just go in and take it? There are drinks everywhere. There’s a whole bin of soda right there. You should have been smart like your… very sexy friend here,” white boy winked at Elizabeth who rolled her eyes, “why were you in the fridge?”
“I was thirsty. It’s just juice. It’s not a big deal,” Olivia shuffled her feet.
“Don’t tell me what’s a big deal, ok? Do people go into your house and take stuff out of your fridge?” The white boy asked the underprivileged kids.
“Yes,” the group said.
“What the hell is wrong with you people?” the white boy chuckled.
“Hold up,” Elizabeth stood up and towards the white boy, “you people?”
“Hey, just let it go,” Cesar held Elizabeth’s arm, but she shook it off.
“No, I’m not letting shit go. This white boy wants to be a little racist shit,” Elizabeth glared at the boy in front of her.
“Don’t you have any respect?” the white boy glared
“Dice que el gringo se viste como un cholo,” Elizabeth stood her ground.
“Excuse me, hoe? Excuse me?” the white boy stepped closer to Elizabeth.
“We don’t want any problems,” Cesar stood and moved to stand next to the hot headed girl.
“Exactly,” Ruby interfered, “I got her. How much is the juice?” Ruby started pulling out his wallet.
“Ok,” the white boy nodded, “fifty two dollars a bottle and twenty dollars each for all the food and drinks you had,”
“We don’t have that kind of money on us,” Olivia said.
“Of course you don’t,” The white boy said.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Olivia glared.
“Just stating the obvious,” the white boy sarcastically smiled at Olivia then turned to Elizabeth, “how about you stay and I can show you a real man?”
“Now you’re just being a dick,” Olivia seethed.
“Dude, control your bitch,” white boy said to Ruby.
“You better apologize,” Cesar stood up to the white boy.
“Nah, he doesn’t have to apologize,” Elizabeth winked at Elizabeth.
“Exactly, gorgeous. How are we gonna settle up?” the white boy smirked.
“Like this,” Olivia said, opening the bottle and spilling it all over the floor.
The four soon ran as a person came up to them and handed the white boy and his group eggs. Eggs started being thrown and hit the four people as they ran farther away from the house with the group following. They ran into Jamal and Monse so they quickly told them to run, but it was too late when eggs were thrown at them as well. After a few more minutes of running, the crew stopped running and started trying to figure out how they were gonna get back, but Elizabeth caught sight of Cesar focused on his phone.
“Whatcha doing, compa?” Elizabeth asked Cesar.
“Askin’ your novio to come and handle it,” Cesar turned to the group, “don’t get a Lyft. It’s handled,” everyone except Monse looked confused, “it’s handled,”
Ten minutes later, Cesar and Elizabeth walked up to the house party and towards the white boy cholo. They met at the top step of the lawn and faced off.
“You want some more?” The white boy asked Cesar, but he didn’t respond, “you think you’re hard, ok. As for you, gorgeous, you come back to let me show you a man?”
“No I didn’t, gringo,” Elizabeth rolled her eyes.
“I’m not, but he is,” Cesar looked back as the familiar Impala stopped in front of the house.
Oscar got out of the car and towards them as the music stopped and everyone looked scared. The Santo walked up to Elizabeth and held her chin to inspect her face and looked down to check out her body, “haces daño, bebé? Nice costume, too,”
“Yo estoy muy bien. simplemente hacer lo que tienes que hacer y vamos a ir,” Elizabeth crossed her arm as yolk ran down her cheek.
Oscar kissed Elizabeth’s cheek and wiped off the yolk before walking up to the white boy. He looked at his face before licking his thumb, wiping off the tear tattoo, and copied the action on his own, but his didn’t come off.
“This shit’s real,” Oscar glared.
“What do you want?” The white boy whimpered.
Oscar looked at Cesar who responded, “all of your pressed juices, candy, and an apology to Elizabeth,”
Those words caught Oscar’s attention, “what did you do to my girl, cabron?”
“Nothing, man,” the white boy stuttered, “boys, get what they asked already!”
“Boy, if you don’t stop lying,” Elizabeth glared at the boy, “didn’t you call me a hoe? Don’t back up now when an actual man steps up. You say you could show me a real man, right? Where is he now?”
“I-I-I’m s-sorry,”
Elizabeth rolled her eyes, but nodded before throwing her fist at his face and watched as he fell back on his butt with a mouthful of blood. His group walked back out with all the stuff and quickly shoved it into their awaiting arms.
Oscar laughed at the boy silently crying at the punch before leaning down, “so where is the real man? I’m curious to see how you could handle a baddie like her pero we ain’t gonna know,”
The group was now piling into the back of Oscar’s Impala with their own arms full of the things that were given while Cesar sat in the front with Elizabeth in between them.
“Where to, hermanito?” Oscar asked Cesar.
“Ruby’s” Cesar said.
The ride was quiet and after tonight’s events, Elizabeth was tired as she yawned and felt her eyes close when she felt something touch her left thigh, but she didn’t mind, knowing it was Oscar who laid his hand on it. She slowly drifted off as her head lolled to Oscar’s shoulder after a right turn and soft snores filled the air with the music playing softly in the background.
“Aye, anyone of you, grab the flannel that’s there somewhere and give it to Cesar,” the freshmen in the back shuffled fast and quickly handed it to Cesar, “Cesar, lay it on her pero don’t wake her up,”
Half an hour later, they were in front of Ruby’s house and Elizabeth felt the stop so she opened her eyes with a groan. Her eyes caught sight of Ruby’s house and saw the position she was in causing her cheeks to grow ablaze and quickly got out of the car to let the crew out while Oscar smirked at the girl, but saw the red on her knuckles. Monse left shortly after leaving the crew to go inside and Elizabeth was about to make her way inside, but Oscar called out to her.
“Eli! Get back inside. I’m gonna take you home,”
Elizabeth shrugged and went back inside the car. They drove in silence and arrived at Oscar’s house, but Elizabeth was confused.
“What are we doing here?” Elizabeth asked the man.
“I gotta patch you up, mamita,” Oscar grabbed her bruised hand and held it up, “now get your ass inside,”
“Bossy much?” Elizabeth rolled her eyes, but a smile emerged onto her lips.
The two got inside and Oscar led her into the bathroom, lifting her up so she could sit on the counter. He shuffled through the cabinet to get the first aid kit as Elizabeth sat patiently while swinging her legs back and forth. Finally, Oscar got the kit and took her hand after he doused a cotton pad with alcohol to clean her knuckles before wrapping it in gauze to prevent infections. Elizabeth smiled at his gentle touch, but it didn’t get past Oscar when he looked up.
“Que?” Oscar raised an eyebrow.
“Nada,” Elizabeth shrugged, “it’s just Spooky got a soft touch for a gang leader,”
“Callate, pendeja,” Oscar scoffed, “it’s only ‘cause it’s you,”
“Oh my God,” Elizabeth put her uninjured hand on her chest, above her heart, “the Spooky is becoming soft because of me,”
The two just stared before laughing at the impersonation of the hormonal women that were afraid of him, but still swooned over his beauty. After they were done, Cesar walked in looking stressed, but Elizabeth pushed it aside, thinking it was over Monse. Oscar was staring at the girl that was in front of him when her eyes closed due to the events from that night.
“Are your parents gonna be home tonight?” Oscar asked.
Elizabeth shook her head, “my mom picked up double shifts,”
Oscar nodded, picking the small girl up causing her to wrap her legs around him so she didn’t fall on her ass. He walked the two of them into his room and plopped her onto the bed before taking off his tank top before laying down next to her. The two laid next to each other in complete silence until they let their eyes closed and their bodies give way to the sleepy feeling.

“(Y/N)! It’s so good to see you again!”
You look up from your drink as the overly cheerful voice floats through the crowd and Marilyn Wong appears before you out of thin air, a large smile on her lips, a flute of champagne held in her hand, dressed head to toe in an elegant, and most likely, expensive pink pantsuit.
“Marilyn.” You say, as she gives you a polite side hug, careful not to spill the martini you hold in your hand.
She pulls back from you, taking a sip of her own drink, before she says lightly with a wave of her and, “You look beautiful, darling! And that Kim Seokjin of yours....” She winks as you both glance toward the platform at the front of the large room, to where Jin stands, shaking hands and chatting with the other men receiving awards tonight. “You must be so proud.”
“I am.” You nod, a slight smile on your lips, as you turn back to the woman whose husband is Jin’s right hand man. “He deserves this.”
There is silence for several seconds, the sound of other chatter filling the air, and then Marilyn motions to your table over your shoulder. “Also, who are all those other dapper young men that have accompanied you tonight?” Her voice is curious,  as she peers around you to get a closer look at the other six vampires seated around the table.
“Those are actually Seokjin’s brothers.” You say with hesitation. You’re used to lying now. It wouldn’t do to tell people that you live with a coven of vampires and, oh yeah, you’re their one human mate.
“All six of them?” Marilyn glances at you with wide eyes, and at your nod, she laughs between her teeth in admiration. “Well, Seokjin and his brothers are built like muscular Greek gods. How did their parents manage it? Are they gods themselves?”
You hide your grin behind the rim of your glass. “Something like that.”
“Ladies and Gentlemen, would you please take your seats so we can begin?” The announcer’s voice echoes over the sound system from the front of the room.
“I guess that’s our cue.” You smile at Marilyn, as she nods once more and bids you farewell, ducking back through the crowds to her own table, while you go in the opposite direction to yours.
Settling down into your seat between Yoongi and Namjoon as the announcer starts to speak again, you carefully fold your dress around your legs and set down your drink, as the two older vampires flash questioning looks in your direction.
“What?” You mouth at them, trying to keep quiet as the chatter dies down.
“Wasn’t that Marilyn Wong?” Namjoon whispers back, glancing across the room to where Marilyn now sits beside her husband.
At your affirming nod, Yoongi leans into your other side, breathing into your ear, “What were you two talking about? We saw you looking over to us.”
You grin, reaching out beneath the table cloth to lay a hand on Namjoon’s sturdy thigh, your other hand finding Yoongi’s and entertwining his fingers with your own before you murmur back, eyes flicking up to the front of the stage as the announcer begins, “She wanted to know who the six good looking men escorting me tonight were.”
“What’d you tell her?” Taehyung leans around Yoongi to flash you a smug smile, his brows raising beneath the dark bangs of his curly hair, already escaping from its cage of gel.
You shrug, once again looking toward the stage as the first businessman stands to accept his award. “I told her that all seven of you were my vampire lovers, and that you’d let me out of your sex dungeon long enough to see Jin’s ceremony.”
Namjoon chokes on his drink, instantly leaning into a coughing fit at your words, and Taehyung chuckles, trying to contain his laughter as he holds his sides, giving you a wink through tears of mirth before he sits back and out of view behind Yoongi.
Leaning back in your chair as they finally call Jin’s name, hiding the smile that’s still on your lips, hands still on Yoongi and Namjoon, your stomach fills with warmth and pride as the oldest accepts his award, and his six younger brothers cheer louder than anyone else in the room.
*******
Looking up when the bathroom door opens, you lean on the edge of the tub and grin, as Jin enters the bathroom, a towel wrapped around his waist, his bronze chest gleaming in the flickering candlelight.
“There’s the man of the hour.” You say teasingly, as he drops the towel and wastes no time in sliding into the bathtub full of warm water, settling in behind you, his legs stretching out on either side of your naked body to fill the large tub.
“Yeah, yeah.” He grumbles good naturedly, arms sliding naturally around your waist to pull you close against him, skin slightly chilled still. He presses a lingering kiss to your temple, breathing you in, his nose pushed into the edge of your hairline, where the hair is curled in wet tendrils from the heat against your damp skin. “Thanks for coming tonight, Princess.”
“Are you kidding?” You glance over your shoulder at him, slight surprise on your face at his words. “I wouldn’t have missed it!”
“You wanted to converse with stuffy board men and their wives that badly, huh?” Jin jokes, fingers tracing patterns on the bare skin of your sides, his movements in the oily water sending new waves of perfume-lavender and lilac and roses-into the humid bathroom air.
“Actually.” You run your own fingers along his forearms in a soothing, repetitive motion beneath the warm water, smiling softly to yourself. “I just wanted to see Kim Seokjin in a suit again that badly.”
He laughs, the sound rumbling through his chest and into your back. “Oh, I see. So you’re turned on by the fact that your boyfriend is a stuffy board man.”
“Something like that.” You tease back lightly, as he laughs again, the sound familiar and comforting and warm.
You both fall into silence for a few moments, the only sound the water lapping gently against the edges of the large claw foot tub, and the slight hissing and cracking of the candles that bathe the room in a yellow light.
In the quiet, you find yourself thinking about earlier, when Marilyn had commented on the boys.
Muscular Greek Gods.
You couldn’t deny that all seven of the vampire brothers were handsome-no, more than that-they were enchanting, but there was a part of you that forgot, or chose to ignore, the large and very obvious gap between their appearance, their aura, and your own, although it was always made abundantly clear to you when a stranger commented on how beautiful they were.
You’re pulled from your thoughts as you feel Jin’s lips caress the skin below your ear, and as he moves downward, carefully planting gentle and soft kisses down the length of your neck and across the bare, wet skin of your shoulder, you shiver pleasantly beneath his touch, and it’s enough to almost distract you from what you were just thinking about.
Almost.
“Jin.” You murmur, turning your head slightly to the side, so that his lips have easier access to the naked flesh of your throat as he continues to press kisses all over your skin. “Can I ask you something?”
He pauses, his breaths cool against your flushed skin, his lips still lightly brushing across the base of your collarbone, and then he says, “Anything, princess.”
“It’s just....” You hesitate, trying to collect your scrambled thoughts, as Jin, who isn’t helping your thinking process, continues to run his lips on various routes across your throat, his hands tickling your sides beneath the perfumed bath water. “You and the other boys, you’re vampires. And you’re gorgeous.” He pauses once again, and you feel him pull back slightly, his eyes going to your face, though you do your best to avoid his gaze as you continue. “I guess, sometimes, I just wonder, why you picked me?”
There is a moment of silence, as if Jin is contemplating what you said, and then he asks, fingers going still against your hipbones, “Picked you? You mean why did we choose you as our mate?”
You nod, suddenly feeling even more unsure of yourself, as you hear the slight surprise in his words. “I mean, you didn’t all have to share one mate. And you definitely could have had your pick-you didn’t have to pick a human. So why me?”
Jin sighs, and you worry, only for the briefest moment, that he is angry with you, before he sits back against the porcelain wall of the tub, tugging you back against him, and wrapping his arms tighter around your middle, he says quietly, “(Y/N). Would you like me to list all the reasons why we love you? Why you’ve completely captured and held the attention of seven men who you obviously, and very wrongly, think could have done better?”
He must take your silence for affirmation, because he reaches up, brushing some of the wet hair sticking to your skin away from the nape of your neck, before he says seriously, his tone soft, but firm, “You are the most beautiful human being I’ve ever seen. And that’s saying something, because I’ve been around for a long time.” He chuckles beneath his breath, his fingers now stroking and tracing the length of your spine, leaving goosebumps in his wake. “You’re hard working and independent. You could have given up your job when you moved in, we’d take care of you easily, but you’ve always wanted to pull your weight. And.” He pauses, and you resist the urge to look over your shoulder at him, as you feel him press his nose against the crook of your neck, inhaling deeply before he continues, voice barely above a murmur, “You, my princess, are absolutely, positively captivating, tempting, enticing. No one, and I mean no one, has ever captured all of our attention so fully, at the same time. You have absolutely possessed us all.”
He falls into silence, face still buried against your skin, and you think over his words, hands going up to blindly stroke down the sides of his face where it rests on your shoulder, chin digging into your flesh.
“I’m a very cherished and revered blood bag.” You can’t resist the tease, as you finally glance over at him, his eyes dark as they meet your own, a hint of a sardonic smile crossing his lips at your joke.
“Ah, you’re more than your blood. That’s for sure, princess.” Jin retorts back, fingers making their way up your bare sides to rest on your shoulders. “However,” His pupils widen slightly, as he reaches up with his hand to tilt your head gently, revealing more of your throat, the skin sticky with the humidity filling the air. “I will admit, the taste of you is what keeps me up at night.”
A tense feeling of coiled, expectant pleasure fills your stomach at his honest words, and he leans toward you, lips once again brushing the skin at the base of your throat, his mouth fitting perfectly into the curve of the juncture where your neck meets your shoulder, and you close your eyes in anticipation, waiting for the familiar feel of his teeth to touch your skin.
You jump slightly, when the prick of his fangs start their descent into your flesh, his teeth cool against your warm skin, but the pain doesn’t last long, not long at all, and before you know it you’re sinking back against him, his strong arms holding you upright, as you give into the utter and complete feeling of pleasure and wholeness that the kiss of a vampire brings.
You’re aware, through the haze, of the bobbing of Jin’s throat as he drinks, the sound of your blood slipping past his teeth and into his mouth, before it slides down his throat, happy to serve and fulfill him.
And then he’s separating from you, and you open your eyes, as the hard coolness of his fangs is replaced by the warmth and softness of his tongue, tracing circles across your skin as he seals his holes, joining the countless others that are in multiple states of healing from the weeks before, from other feedings, from other brothers.
“Now. Let me ask you something, princess.” Jin’s voice is low in your ear, as you continue to snuggle back against him, his arms still holding you upright in the now fading warmth of the bath water. “Do you ever wish for a different life than this?”
“No.” You shake your head seriously, glancing up at him, his serious expression and question clearing the remaining fog from your brain. “Never.”
He studies you for a moment, before a smile breaks through onto his plush, pink lips, and leaning down, he presses a kiss to your upturned forehead. “Good.”

Get Outta My Dreams - Battle Tendency
This did not go as I had originally intended, but I am happy with the result. While I do not consider this a romantic story between the reader and Joseph, I will leave it to you to interpret it as you will. Please enjoy.

Get into my car...
I sat down in the plush armchair, letting myself sink into the upholstery. I exhaled and let myself relax. I looked up. People were milling about, coming to and fro, standing and discussing, sitting and chatting. It was almost lunchtime, and Italians need to be kept fed. It just so happened that this hotel had a restaurant on the main floor, just beyond the lobby. How convenient.
I cracked open the book I had in my hand. I loved to read, but I never got to read much as a child. I was much too busy, I had younger siblings to take care of. Now, it seemed I had too much time on my hands. I let myself be absorbed into the words on the page, letting them take me away to another place in a different time.
I looked up again. Beside me, across the end table, my brother sat down with a thud. He leaned his elbow on the arm of the chair and supported his face with his hand. His eyes observed me with slight amusement.
I tilted the book down and looked over at him. "What are you doing here? I thought you would be out with another one of your girls."
"I am," he said with a smile. "I quite like the restaurant here. It would be easier to meet her here than go traipsing across Roma. Might as will fill the time while we wait."
"Sometimes I forget how much you don't like waiting," I stuck a finger in my book and let it close. I give him a quizzical look. "Is this girl different from the others? Or is she just another one to practice on?"
His eyes darted away from mine, almost afraid to answer. " I always hope the girl I am with is the one for me." A slight blush crossed over his face. "I hope she is different, but I won't know until I get to know her."
I open my book again. "I hope you find her soon. If anyone deserves to find love, it's you."
"I don't know about that," he crosses his legs very dramatically. ""You know, you could be looking for a man of your own. I don't think you would have much trouble finding one."
"I..." I felt my shoulders sag. We had discussed this before, and he never seemed to take the hint. "I'm not interested in looking right now. It doesn't feel like the right time for me. Besides, I don't think I would have much luck with men."
"Don't say that!" he dropped his arm and leaned in closer. "You could have any man you wanted. You just need to try hard enough."
I closed my eyes for a moment. "I appreciate your kind words, but we have more important matters to worry about. We are waiting for that phone call from Speedwagon. We should be meeting with him and the Joestar sometime today."
His face twisted at the name. "Joestars. They have been a plight on our family for generations."
"So have vampires. Don't blame Joseph for something that wasn't his fault."
"Caesar?" A voice broke the conversation between us.
We both looked up at the girl standing before us. "Emilia!" My brother immediately dropped the sour look on his face. He nearly jumped out of his chair and took her hand, giving it a polite kiss. The girl giggled a bit. "I am so happy you made it," he said as he rose from his bow.
"So am I," She looked over at me for a few seconds. Her eyes read of distrust, and she had instantly become fascinated with me. "Caesar," she said without looking away, " Who is this?"
He looked down at me with slight confusion on his face. "No need to worry, Emilia." His voice was full of reassurance. "This is my sister, (Y/N)."
Her eyes continued to bore into me. "Ah, yes. I can see the resemblance now." She gave a fake smile. "I can see I had nothing to worry about. I'm Emilia." She offered her hand to shake.
"Charmed," I said half heartedly, ignoring the handshake. Caesar was as bad at picking dates as he was at picking friends. Not only was she obviously fake, she looked like a wild cat. Her updo had this windswept look to it, making the sides of her head look like ears. I couldn't tell if it was deliberate or an accident. "You two have fun," I went back to my book. "I will meet you back here when you are done, Caesar." I let my irritation come through in my voice.
He gave me a nod, before offering an arm to Emilia. She took it daintily and they began the walk to the restaurant. I slumped into my chair and huffed. Another date that would end in failure. Another woman to add to the long list. And this one was particularly bad. She had this air of dishonesty around her. I opened the book again and began to read.
"Why, hello there." A voice said from above me. I dropped the book into my lap and glared upward. If I wasn't irritated enough, I had someone bothering me. A tall man stood before me, a mess of brown hair on his head and a smirk on his face. "What is a beautiful girl like you doing, sitting here all by herself?"
"Reading," I said with a hint of attitude in my voice. "Now if you would excuse me, I would like to go back to doing that."
The man walked to the chair next to me, and sat down with an exaggerated groan. "Don't be like that, Senorina. I just wanted to ask if you would join me for lunch."
I glared at him. "No. Now go away and leave me alone."
The man tisked at me. "Not very nice, now are we." He threw his hands behind his head and leaned back into his chair.
I looked down into my book, not really reading it. "No, I am not very nice. Especially with obnoxious Americans who like to invade my personal space."
He chuckled a bit. "Sorry to disappoint, but I'm British, Senorina"
"You could have fooled me. Most Englishmen who come to Italia are not as loud and annoying as you are. "
A huge smile crossed his face. "I'm not like most people. It's a little too boring for me. I like to keep things interesting."
I looked at him, but don't reply. I didn't feel like playing his game. I flipped to the next page.
He looked at me for a long time. "You know," he said with a smirk growing on his face, "I feel like I've seen you somewhere before." He playfully rubbed his chin. "In my dreams, maybe?"
"I don't think so." God, his pick up lines were just as bad as Caesar's.
"Well, since you don't want to have lunch with me," I could see the gears turning in his head, "How about a tour of the city? I could hail a cab. We would drive around and you could show me the sights of Rome."
I closed the book and folded my arms. I dramatically crossed my legs giving him a confident look. "The thing is, I am not native to Roma. I don't know very much about the city. Even if I was, I am waiting for someone for a phone call. I am meeting with someone later, so I really don't have the time." I gave him a fake smile. "I'm sorry, but you should really ask someone else."
He leaned against the arm of the chair and looked intently at me. "Who are you meeting?"
I could feel my brows furrow slightly. "Someone important. My brother and I are meeting with them soon."
"How interesting," He smiled. "I am meeting with someone later too, you know."
"How nice," I said sarcastically.
He rested his head against his fist. "You know, you have been very rude to me since I got here. All I have done is be nice to you, and ask you out to lunch. I thought you Italians were more hospitable than that."
I looked away. He wasn't incorrect. I was being a little too... Harsh. I sighed. "I apologize. I just wanted to be left alone, alright? I am already a little aggravated at the girl my brother is on a date with right now."
He gave a very confused look. "What's wrong with her? Is she ugly? Or is she to stupid to have a conversation with?"
I chuckled. "I wish." I thought a moment. "She's the type of girl that will lie to your face with a smile." I sighed and looked directly at him. "My brother has always been bad at reading people. He doesn't make friends very easily because of it. He also likes to make a lot of assumptions about people before he gets to know them."
The man sat there and observed me. It felt like he was reading me like a book, words written on my face. "What about you? You were very aggressive towards me. My feelings are a little hurt from your cruel words."
I thought very carefully, mulling over my words. "I am a very cautious person. I don't like being intruded upon. And you seem to be someone who likes to cause trouble, to see what he can get away with."
"It seems you read people better than your brother does." His eyes were filled with excitement.
"I should hope so." I looked at the clock on the wall over the front desk. "If you want to have lunch before the restaurants get busy, you better get going. We Italians take our meals very seriously, and you probably won't get a table if you wait too long."
He gazed at me for a moment, before standing up and offering a hand to me. "My offer still stands, Senorina," he said with a smirk. "I would love to see across a table from me. I hear the restaurant in this hotel is top notch."
I shake my head. "I appreciate the offer, but I must refuse. I told my brother I would wait here for him. I don't want to have him looking all over for me when we need to leave." It was a bit of a lie, to be honest. We would be in the same restaurant as Caesar and his date, but I had a feeling that the meal would end in disaster.
The man pulled back his hand and stuck it in his pocket. "Alright then, but if you ever need a nonstop miracle," he pointed a thumb at himself, "I'm your man."
"What's that supposed to mean?" That was one of the stupidest things I had ever heard.
He shrugged "Whatever you want it to mean, Singorina." He walked off, leaving me slightly dazed and confused. I watched him as he disappeared into the crowd. He was one of the strangest people I had ever met. Confident and cocky, but had a way with people. It seemed that the world was just a giant game to him.
It was many pages later when I saw Caesar walk up to the front desk. The host handed him the phone, and he gracefully held it to his ear. I struggled my way out of the chair and quickly walked over to him. He was muttering into the receiver, listening intently during the silence between.
"Right, we'll meet you at the Fontana del Tritone," he said with an air of finality. "Yes, goodbye." He handed it back to the host, then turned to me. "That was Speedwagon."
I nodded. "I thought so. You had better tell your date the bad news. I'll get the car." I started to walk away. "I'll meet you outside when you're ready." I said with a smirk.
I sat on the edge of the fountain, listening to the water bubble and cascade behind me. It would have been relaxing for me, even with the people milling about. But God had decided that today was not going to be a relaxing day for me.
The man that had pestered me in the hotel was none other than Joseph Joestar, one of the people we were supposed to meet with. In a twist of fate, he and Caesar had met in the restaurant, and immediately decided they hated each other. So much for working together. The two of them were avoiding each other, Caesar moping and Joseph playing with the pigeons. Speedwagon was trying his best to get the two to communicate like civilized people, but they were too damn stubborn.
Speedwagon was not quite what I was expecting. Firstly, I thought he was American. With him being an oil tycoon with most of his work based in America, it took me by surprise to hear a British accent. He also seemed very kind-hearted. It takes a lot of ruthlessness to survive in the business world. He had remained caring and compassionate through it all. What a resiliant man.
Caesar had caught notice of a pretty tourist taking photos of the local architecture. "Where are you from?" I watched as he turned up the charm. "Shall I take a picture of you and the fountain?" She blushed a bit, and turned her head away.
"I don't think Emilia will appreciate you flirting with other women," I leaned over and whispered. I wanted to grind his gears a bit.
He glanced at me. "Emilia doesn't care what I do now. She wasn't very happy I had to leave early. She threw a tantrum and left."
"Oh, no. Really?" I said with fake concern. "I'm so sorry for you."
"Don't patronize me. I know you didn't like her very much," he said without looking at me. He was stubborn about staying moody to the bitter end.
Joseph was cooing at the birds as they swarmed him. He was really enjoying them. "These birds sure are friendly," he said to no one. "A lot smarter than the men around here, don't you think?" He turned and yelled at Caesar, who didn't react besides scoffing at him. Both of them were being stupid. We had a job to do, and the two of them were letting pride and ego get in the way.
"Knock it off, Jojo!" Speedwagon stood as quickly as his aging bones would let him. "We didn't come all this way for nothing. You two better start talking!"
Beside me, Caesar turned just enough to look at Speedwagon. "I'm sorry, but not a chance."
I put a hand to my face. "Oh, Holy Mother..." I mumbled. He was going to make this as long and painful as he could.
"After our Grandfather died fifty years ago, our father took up his torch and spent his life hunting the mask. We Italians value our familial bonds more than any other culture in the world. It is everything to me!" Caesar's voice rose with every word. He stood and pointed at Joseph with vitriol. "That is something he will never understand! He only learned of his grandfather three months ago! A true man knows his history."
Joseph rose from the ground, the pigeons flying away. "Tell me this, 'true man,'" he pointed back at Caesar. "Is your whole family really this dumb?" Felt felt my blood boiling at his words.
"Hold on, Caesar," Speedwagon interjected, motioning Joseph to calm down. "He didn't know about his family because I kept it a secret from him."
I looked up at my brother, anger coursing through my veins. Not only was he making a fool of himself, Joseph had just insulted our family because of his ridiculous rant. "You have no place to talk, Caesar." He didn't acknowledge me, but I knew he was listening. "We didn't know about our family until a few years ago. He's in the same position we were."
He shook his head, trying to downplay what I had said. "That doesn't matter. I was expecting some impressive strength after hearing he fought Straizo and one of the Pillar Men. That's why we were waiting at the hotel." He closed his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose as if it hurt him to speak. He hadn't mentioned that bit of information when we booked the hotel. "I am disappointed to say, his Hamon skills leave much to be desired."
I glared at him. "That's what you were doing in the restaurant? Playing around with Hamon?" I looked to Joseph, then back again. "I would expect this of Joseph, but not of you Caesar! We have more important things to worry about than your petty squabbles."
"Hey!" Joseph said in defense.
"Aren't you listening?" Caesar yelled back. "His Hamon is weak, near useless! His defeat of the Pillar Man was nothing but blind luck! How are we supposed to work someone so pathetic?"
Joseph growled. "Now, listen here!"
"Don't be ridiculous, Caesar!" I stood up and met his intensity. "We need Joseph to defeat the other Pillar Men, whether you like him or not!"
"I won't be forced to work with this imbecile!" Caesar interrupted, his anger reaching boiling point.
"Working with an imbecile is better than being dead! We need every Hamon user we can get our hands on!" Why was he letting his emotions cloud his judgement? These Pillar Men could put the world in jeopardy, and he was more concerned with who he was working with.
Speedwagon tried to calm the situation. "Caesar, please! Joseph hasn't had any proper Hamon training yet...."
Joseph stepped in front of him, cracking his knuckles. "We're done talking here. I'm going to settle this with a good thrashing."
Caesar grinned. He grabbed the tourist he had been talking to earlier, bringing her in close. "With your weak Hamon, you wouldn't be able to pick the petals off this delicate flower."
Joseph looked around hastily. "Yeah? Well, you couldn't beat one of these pigeons!"
I threw up a hand in dismissal. "You two are the stupidest and most reckless people I have ever had the misfortune of meeting." I began to walk away. "When you two are done beating the shit out of each other, I'll be waiting in the car to drive you to the nearest hospital. Just find me when you are done." I was so angry, I had begun to shake a bit. Caesar was being so unreasonable, letting his pride get in the way of everything we had been working towards. After we had come all this way, trained so hard, sacrificed so much, he was willing to throw it all away because Joseph was acting like an idiot.
I stormed away, heading across the street and around the corner where I parked the car earlier. I yanked the door open and climbed in the driver's seat. I slammed the door shut, letting myself slump against the warm leather and worked the crank to roll the window down.
I loved my brother. I loved him dearly. I didn't understand why he did this to himself. He was so good at making bad decisions. He always had been, even when we were younger. He had thought crime was better than working a job. He thought running away to Roma to escape his problems was better than staying with what little was left of his family. He let his emotion guide him, and his emotions usually had the worst solutions.
Learning to use Hamon was probably the best thing that happened to us. By then, the younger ones could take care of themselves, and I could go with Caesar to train under Lisa Lisa. Keep him out of trouble for a little while. But by then, he seemed to have leveled out some. Maybe it was because he finally had something to work towards. Whatever it was, it wasn't working now. He had become so blinded by his anger and resentment that he was willing to throw it all away.
I slumped against the seat even more. What I supposed to do? I had tried talking some sense into him. Well, more like yelling some sense into him, and it didn't seem to work.
A figure moved just outside my periphery. I leaned forward a bit to get a better look. It was Joseph, making his way to the car. "Are you two done yet?" I called to him, hearing the tiredness in my own voice.
He closed the gap, leaning against the frame of the window. "I rather think so." He gave his signature smirk. "You're brother's good, but not good enough for the likes of me!"
I narrowed my eyes. "So he did lose to the pigeon."
"Bingo," he said with a wink. "Speedwagon and Caesar are talking about a few things. They said they would be here soon." He looked around, then turned back to me. "What's Caesar's deal anyway? All I did was launch some Hamon de Seppia at him, and he immediately hates me."
I sighed and looked away. "I don't know. He's always been like this." A thought for a moment. "Hamon de Seppia? You had a food fight in the restaurant?!"
Joseph waved his hands in front of his face. "No, no, nothing like that at all!" He scrunched up his face. "If it wasn't for that Casanova being such a jerk and his stupidly obvious flirting, I wouldn't have used Hamon in the first place."
I didn't believe him for a second. "You know," I said slowly, "You complain that Caesar decided to hate you for no reason, but you acted the same way to him. You are guilty of the same thing he is."
His gaze wandered over my face. "The difference between me and that wet noodle is that I can read people. I can tell what kind of a person he really is."
"First impressions don't tell the whole story, Joseph." I returned the intense stare. "You made up your mind from the beginning, and you don't want to be proven wrong."
He began tapping the metal door with his finger. "I wasn't wrong about you, Senorina." Playfulness began to creep into his eyes.
His words made me suspicious. "What about me?" I asked cautiously.
I could see the cogs moving behind his eyes. This was just another game to him. "Well," he began with a sly grin, "When I first saw you, I could tell you were the quiet type. You have a temper on you, but you like to keep it under wraps." I could feel his eyes searching for a reaction from me. "But you are very protective about the people you care about. You also are spicy and sarcastic, having a fire to you that most people don't have."
I was thinking so fast, trying to come up with some witty comeback. Nothing was really coming to mind, but something was bugging me a bit. "What you say is true," I began, mulling over my words, "But you don't know why I am the way I am. You know my actions, but you don't know who (Y/N) is. You can read people very well, but you only read what is on the surface. It takes a lot longer to really know a person."
His grin turned toothy. "Do you want to know me better? Because I want to know you better, Senorina."
I glared at him. "What do you mean by that, Joseph?"
He shrugged. "It's whatever you want it to mean."
"Don't be coy. Give me a straight answer, damn it."
He chuckled. "I don't think so. That would take all the fun out of it, don't you think?"
I rolled my eyes. "If you want to be friends, I have no problems with that. If you want some sort of fling, I don't do those. If you are wanting some sort of serious relationship... We'll see."
"We'll see?" His eyes sparkled. "You sound eager, Senorina."
"Not a chance," I said, not as angry as I wanted it to sound.
"I think soooooo..." A goofy smile on his face. "You want a non-stop lover like me."
"I don't think you could last that long," I slid the comment in.
"Eh, uh," he sputtered, "You don't know until you try, smooth operator."
"You seem keen on convincing me," I smirked at him. "Go ahead. Give it your best shot. And keep in mind, Caesar will hate you more than he already does. It doesn't matter whether you succeed or not." I looked over his shoulder. "Here he comes, by the way."
Joseph whipped around to see Speedwagon and Caesar, deep in discussion and heading our way. He turned back to me, fire in his eyes. "Let's make a deal," he said hastily.
"A deal?"
"Yes." I could tell he was trying to think of something, and fast. "If I can defeat you in a Hamon battle, you go out to lunch with me."
I raised an eyebrow. "When would we have this battle?"
"Uhm... After we meet with this coach of yours," he manages. "The first free moment we get, we settle this."
I look back at Speedwagon and Caesar, who were just out of earshot. "You're on."
Joseph smiled and pumped his fist. "Alright! You better not back out!"
"I don't plan on it. Now, get into my car. We're leaving." I leaned out the window as Joseph moved away. "You two done?" I called out.
"Sorry for keeping you waiting, (Y/N)," Speedwagon apologized. "Caesar and I were discussing our next steps."
"It's alright." I look over to the passenger seat. Joseph was trying to claim the front. "Get in the back seat. Caesar sits there."
"You better leave my sister alone, or I will beat you into a pulp!" Caesar threatened, pointing menacingly.
"Oh? Like you did that pigeon?" Joseph taunted, crossing his arms with his usual cockiness.
I hit my head on the rim of the steering wheel. This was going to be miserable. "Just get in."
"If you say so, Lady Driver," Joseph moved to the back seat, right behind the passenger. Speedwagon climbed in on the other side.
As Caesar settled in beside me, I looked over to him. "Are we still going ahead as planned?"
He nodded. "Yes. I'm still waiting for our man to get in touch."
"What man?" Joseph asked from behind us. He leaned forward so his head poked out between us.
"You'll find out." I said, shoving his head out of the way. I turned the key in the ignition, and the engine roared under the hood. This was going to be an interesting journey, that was certain. I just had to keep Caesar and Joseph from killing each other before it all ended.

Once Bitten, Twice Stupid prt 139
139
Cuba was loud. Loud and people everywhere. Lance had bugged him to call Shiro, his brother giving him a hard time for forgetting, but Matt had already called to let him know that he and Lance had a very... intimate reunion. Stupid perverted wolf. He was having a moment with his boyfriend, not some kind of scandalous tryst.
Lance didn’t talk as much as he thought he would. So Keith didn’t push it. He’d sent Shiro a proper message explaining Miriam had passed and that Lance needed a little more time before they’d be headed back to America. Matt had let Shiro know, but Keith felt like maybe that’d been Lance’s place to say. Shiro and Curtis sending their condolences. Each time Lance would point something out, Keith tried to take as many photos on his phone as he could, so Lance would have physical evidence to match his memories.
Stopping for lunch near the beach, Keith realised how screwed he would have been without Lance there to translate for him. Sure, there was English to cater to the tourists, but Lance made it look easy. Chatting away with the servers, swimming in the jumper that he was wearing. His boyfriend had already managed to get him new shoes. They weren’t shiny red converses with smiley faces on them, but they were sneakers because Lance simply rolled his eyes at the idea of boots in the heat.
Sitting across from his boyfriend in the cafe, Keith realising that Lance actually looked a little older. He couldn’t put his finger on what it was, but there was something there. Then again, he hadn’t seen his boyfriend’s face in the sun like this in far too long
“You’re staring”
“You’re cute”
Lance huffed at him. Keith couldn’t help how in love with Lance he was
“Can... can you maybe... not compliment me as much?”
“Nope”
His boyfriend huffed again. Did Lance think he was complimenting him to cover other feelings? Or was hating on himself so hard that he struggling to see how beautiful he was? All he had to do was look at Lance and he wanted to say nice things. The Keith from this time last year wouldn’t have believed it. He probably would have broken someone’s face had they suggested he’d be like this with anyone.
Forcing his attention to the meal, he wasn’t sure what it was. It smelt really good. Keith wasn’t sure about the beans, his diet didn’t consist of much outside green beans and baked beans. Baked beans banned because Shiro’s farts were no joke. Pointing with his fork, Lance explained what they were eating
“It’s Ropa Vieja. It’s very good. It’s mostly pulled stewed beef with veggies”
“I don’t think I’ve even heard of it”
“You missed out. Mami used to make a mean ropa. It’s like Cuba’s number one dish and she would come back and murder me if you didn’t try it at least once”
Lance was right, Keith’s eyes widened at the first taste of beef, scoffing down a second forkful. Lance seemed to find it funny enough that he laughed. An actual, proper, barking laugh where he scrunched his face up and people stared. Swallowing quickly, he got hit with the heat of the spices, Lance’s shoulders were shaking with laughter
“What’s so funny?”
“I told you it was good and you still looked like you’d come in your pants at the first bite”
“It is good... Wait, are you trying to say I make weird faces during sex?”
“You make very manly and sexy faces... but that face was gold”
Keith pulled his phone out his pocket, snapping a photo of Lance who sobered as he drew his brow realising what Keith had done. It’d make the perfect proof of life photo for Pidge
“Did you just take a photo?”
“You mocked my “oh” face”
“You have a many manly sex face. Just be careful with where you’re taking photos”
That was thing? Then again, there kind of seemed like a vague memory that maybe a thing
“I didn’t think about that. It was nice seeing you laugh, even it was at me”
He had no idea of the etiquette of Cuba, probably acting like the dumb America tourist he was
“It’s fine here. Mami and I came here a bit on the way too and from the hotel. On Wednesday’s they clear out the tables at night and they have dances”
“I bet Mami loved that”
“She did. We mostly shuffled on the spot but she said it reminded her of when Papi took her dancing. It’s weird when your mum gropes your butt”
“I bet she winked too”
“Yep. I wish I’d come back here sooner with her. I feel like I wasted time not”
“Nah, I’m sure she was happy. Oh, I better text Pidge and Hunk. Is there anything you want me to say?”
“Just tell them I miss them. I do... miss them I mean, but at this stage I’m not sure how to face them”
“Then it’s a good thing I’m here. Coran kept getting pushed out the way so Pidge could talk to me. He actually looked annoyed”
“He’s got a hard enough job. He paid for all of this. I mean, I know he used funds from VOLTRON, but that hotel isn’t cheap...”
“He did it because he loves you. I’m sure there’s plenty of funding, and I’m sure there’s things you haven’t cashed in on because you didn’t want to make a fuss”
“He did try to give me my blood for free... I feel better when I’m paying. More independent and not like a teen getting money from dad”
“See. There you go. This is like really good, can you make this at home?”
“You want me to?”
“Heck yes. Don’t get me wrong, Rome is like a food lovers paradise but pasta gets sooooo repetitive”
“You better make the most of it. There’s still a lot of dishes to try”
“What about going out for dinner? With Matt and Rieva?”
Lance fumbled his fork. Keith kicking himself but the words had slipped out
“I’m... I was really rude to them”
“I doubt they care”
“I care. I ran the first time I saw them”
Keith raised an eyebrow at the thought of a pregnant Lance thinking he could leg it from two werewolves. His boyfriend had zero chance
“Babe, they missed you”
“They’ll want to talk about what happened and I’m... telling you is...”
Right. Lance was still trying to tell him what he could, how he could...
“... telling you is because she saw you as her son. Telling them, I just... it’s harder”
“We don’t have to tell them the things you’re not comfortable with. If we have dinner, we can go after... but it’ll be a good step”
“What if they can’t forgive me?”
“The only person who can’t forgive you is you. Just put it in the back of your mind”
“I’ve been thinking about it too much...”
“I’m shocked you’d over think anything ever”
“Now you’re being mean”
“You still love me. Seriously though, this is really good. Can I help you make it?”
He was going to text Pidge but his food was too appealing. Shovelling down another forkful, Lance swallowed as he watched him, seeming a little flustered. Keith wished he knew what kind of expression he was showing the man he loved
“Uh. I guess... we should eat. We’re heading back to the hotel after this. I can’t seem to make it through without my afternoon nap”
“I’ve deprived you of your morning nap, haven’t I?”
“Yeah... and my morning self wallowing”
“I’m like the worst boyfriend ever”
“Nah. You’re pretty much the best I’ve ever had”
It took Keith a long moment. His heart filled with pride at the praise until he realised he was the only boyfriend Lance ever had. Lance chuckled when the realisation hit him, Keith kicking him lightly under the table. His boyfriend was a brat.
*
When Lance went down for a nap, Keith was shooed off to let him sleep. The cafe was the perfect distance back to the hotel for Lance to have processed eating and be needing to throw it back up. The vampire had eaten enough human food to rival Matt. Keith could keep up, though he tried. Everything tasted amazing, and all he wanted to do was bask in his food coma, then Lance had kicked him out because his hand had slipped a little too low rubbing his boyfriend’s belly. It wasn’t his fault he loved feeling the swell... Lance didn’t trust him to behave. Lance declaring his arse off limits.
Throwing himself down on the sofa in the living area, he was bored already. He’d messaged chat rather than just Pidge, then avoided checking the messages he got in reply. Shay knew he was in Rome for work, and that Lance was on holiday visiting family with his grandmother. Their chat looked rather sad. Shay had expressed her condolences, which Keith accepted on Lance’s behalf. He didn’t have much to do on his own. People were tiring, the noise reaching the hotel room through Lance’s still open bedroom door. If they were going out to dinner, he really should make the effort with Matt and Rieva. Lance was sleeping and he was sure the pair would let him know if Lance needed him back.
Doing what any normal person would do, Keith climbed over to their balcony, knocking on the back door rather than going out into the hall and all the way around. Rieva opened the door with a laugh
“We were wondering how long it’d be before you came over. Couldn’t take the front door?”
“Too much like effort”
“Fair enough. Come in. Mi casa es su casa. Matt, Keith’s here!”
Their hotel room was as nice as Lance’s, decorated the same, complete with clothes everywhere. Keith ignore the thin lace thong hanging off the corner of the sofa as he stood there with his hands in his pockets
“I know Keith’s here! I heard him!”
Matt was rubbing sunscreen on as he came out of his and Rieva’s room. The werewolf having either squeezed too much out, or accidentally burst the tube. The second option seemed more likely seeing it was in his hair. Rieva laughed at her boyfriend, walking over to him. Keith thought she was going to help with the mess until she drew a dick on Matt’s chest. Matt rolling his eyes at her as he smeared sunscreen across the outline to erase it
“Anyway, what brings you over? I didn’t think you wanted to be balcony buddies”
“Leave him alone. You know he only arrived last night”
“He did? Really... Hey!”
Keith snorted as Rieva slapped her boyfriend hard enough for Matt to double over
“Ignore him. I told him we’d go to the pool and he’s been acting like a hyperactive child since”
“Who says I’m not a hyperactive child in disguise?”
Rieva smacked him again
“It would explain so much. Anyway, how is Lance? We saw you two left earlier?”
Keith shrugged, it was really awkward standing there with lingerie just laying around
“About as well as can be expected. Convinced himself that he needs to be strong for everyone else. He’s worked himself up about being rude to you”
Matt huffed, giving up on rubbing in the sunscreen in favour of wiping it on Rieva’s arm. Both werewolves had new scars. Making a face as Rieva wiped sunscreen back on him, Matt sounded as chill as expected
“Lance is “bro-dude” for life. He gets the only free passes we give”
“We really do owe him so much. Garrison is such a lovely town. My boss even let me keep my job despite everything. Now we just need to turn Matt into a respectable member of society”
“I am pretty respectable... This sunscreen is awful”
“As awful as those dead things we found on the beach?”
Matt lit up
“I forgot about those! Hang on...”
Dripping sunscreen from his hair, Matt jogged back into the bedroom. Rieva seemed to know what was happening here.. he was sure he hadn’t missed a hint
“What’s he doing?”
Why was he questioning Matt’s action. He was weird as hell every day of the damn week
“You’ll see”
What was that supposed to mean? Matt calling out
“We found these last night. We thought something had washed up dead on the beach... like a whale or something because there’s sharks and the stench. Anyway, we thought you’d find it interesting”
Coming out with his red converses, Keith could have hugged Matt
“I thought I’d lost them!”
“You would have if we hadn’t been making sure you and Lance were okay. Rieva stopped me from rolling in them...”
“They’re new!”
“They still smell like your feet! And where is the thank you?”
“Thanks guys! Lance had to pretty much organise a new pair for me... you guys are awesome!”
“You’re lucky someone didn’t steal them. Don’t go leaving them around again”
Handing his shoes over, Keith really could have kissed Matt. Finally his stalkerish ways were beneficial
“I had to stop Matt from rolling on them last night. You can take the wolf out of the country, but that doesn’t make him civilised”
“I’m just happy he didn’t chew them... Any way, I wanted to know if you two wanted to go out for dinner with me and Lance tonight? It’s nothing special, and Mami is kind of... he’s still processing. He goes from not being able to say a thing to telling me all about their trip”
“We’d love to. Do you want to come down to the pool with us?”
He’d love to... but he should get back to Lance. Lance had had long enough to fall asleep and he wanted to show him the smiley faces on his shoes...
“I better head back, but I totally owe you for saving my shoes”
“You can pick up tonight’s drink tab...”
“Not with the way you drink. That bill would be higher than both sets of sneakers...”
Matt huffed at him, crossing his arms and channeling the most “Pidge look” he could... Failing on account of the sunscreen
“Cheapskate. Fine. Go back to Lance. We won’t be hurt that you’re bailing on us”
Pidge would have been much more aggressive, with more threats of “ankle biting” or “dick punching”
“It’s only until tonight... I know he’s been... well, Lance, but I’m glad you guys came down here to be here”
Rieva seemed to have “baby fever”
“We couldn’t leave him alone. Did you see how big he’s gotten!? I can’t wait to see the twins... he looks so cute!”
“Careful, babe. Keith might stab you if you make a move on Lance”
“I missed him! Plus werewolves love pups... I can’t wait to see the nursery... you are living in Garrison, right?”
“Oh. Yeah. That’s the plan. Shiro and Curtis are going to live in Platt...”
Matt rolled his eyes
“They should just move out to Garrison. Curtis is going to have fun with those horns of his”
Coran was going to have a proper look at Curtis when he returned. Breaking his horn had had affected his quintessence, now he had two... It was science and quintessence stuff above him
“Yeah. Anyway, thanks for this. I’ll just hop back over the balcony. See you guys later”
*
Lance was still awake when Keith came back with his shoes. Leaving them in the living area, Keith washed his hands then headed into Lance’s room, Lance raising his head to smile at him
“Have fun?”
“I thought you were sleeping”
“I heard you go...”
“I didn’t want to disturb you sleeping”
“It’s fine... they’re your friends”
Moving over to Lance’s bed, Keith pulled his shirt off before climbing under the covers in with his boyfriend. Spooning up around him, Lance rolled over onto his back, biting his lip as he did
“What’s up?”
“Nothing... just wanted to look at you”
Tucking back a stray curl behind Lance’s ear, he realised his boyfriend had a few small grey hairs. Lance had lamented the lack of grey in his hair...
“What’s wrong?”
“You’ve got grey hairs...”
He expected Lance to shoot up and rush to check. Instead his boyfriend nodded
“Yeah. I look a little older too... Coran pointed it out. He said it’s because so much energy is going into the pregnancy”
“Are you okay? Are the twins okay?”
“I... yeah”
Lance wasn’t telling him everything. He could tell. Gone was the Keith that didn’t pick up on social cues
“Babe, there’s something you’re holding back”
“If I tell you, you’ll hate me”
“That’s impossible. Is it to do with the bleed? Is there some kind of complication?”
“It’s... kind of Coran trying to work things out as it progresses. He said some things, that he’s only guessing... he said I might not carry to full term. That they could be born early. I mean, twins usually are. But another bleed could bad... like actually really bad. He did some genetic testing too... that was scary. A big huge needle right into the stomach...”
Keith’s heart was sinking. That didn’t sound like something people did when things were normal
“Was there something wrong?”
Lance’s hands went to his belly, his boyfriend cared more about his bump than he’d let anyone see
“It’s just a theory that I’m sick because these two are full human, with your blood type instead of mine. Despite floating around in me, feeding on my blood and nutrients and all that, they’re human. But that... could change. I mean, they really should be part vampire... it’s possible that my body could get too weak and start feeding off them... when they’re bigger... My body is kind of unique... I’ve been spending... a lot of time trying to eat as much as I can. You saw me at lunch. I’ve had pretty much no appetite since Mami passed, but I’ve been working hard for them... it’s so frustrating throwing everything back up when I’m trying so hard”
This was the kind of thing Coran should have told him... Coran had tried to talk to him alone. He’d been so desperate to get to Lance... he could have kicked himself. As it was, he didn’t know if the twins were from his weak pull out game or a dodgy condom. He’d never doubted paternity. Lance wasn’t like that... but he was pissed that Lance hadn’t told him this sooner
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Because... because I’m trying so hard. I promise I am. I have fresh blood brought to me and I drink more and sleep more and I’ve been careful about not tripping or slipping...”
“Their my twins too. You have to stop taking everything on your own shoulders”
“You weren’t there! You weren’t! I know you couldn’t help it but you were gone and I had to cope the best I could!”
Lance rolled away from him, curling around his stomach as he started to cry. Keith didn’t want to not be there
“I couldn’t help it!”
“I know! I told you to go! And I hate that I did! I hated it! I wanted to go. I wanted to go find you but I couldn’t even be that courageous!”
“Yeah, well it wasn’t that fucking easy being away from you either! Matt and Rieva got hurt! People died! Lotor is now a fucking prince of a whole damn empire! We were being hunted by those loyal to Zarkon. Honerva turned her magic on Curtis! He nearly ended up dead! It was fucking shit!”
“How am I supposed to know this if you don’t tell me?!”
“I don’t know, how am I supposed to know if you run off with our twins and won’t even fucking face all the people that have been there for you!”
“Get out!”
Lance bellowing at him froze Keith. What had he done...
“Lance...”
“Get out!”
“Babe...”
Lance covered his ears, shaking his head
“No! Get out! Get out! Get out!”
“Look... look, okay. Okay. I shouldn’t have snapped, but... I can’t be there for you if I don’t know. I feel shit enough for all I missed”
“How could you think I’m not trying!? You left and everything fucking fell apart! I didn’t know if you were dead or had just run off with someone else!”
“What’s going on here?!”
Rieva and Matt rushed into the room. Rieva demanding to know. Lance was crying on the bed. Keith in tears too
“Lance, I think that’s enough. Keith never looked at anyone else. He was pathetic about missing you the whole time. If there’s something wrong with the twins, you really should have told him sooner”
Rieva growled at her boyfriend, eyes turning yellow. Matt shutting up
“Both of you need to go”
“Bu...”
“Go. You’ve upset him enough and I’m disappointed. Yes, Lance should have told Keith, but when has he had the chance? And when he does, everything turns straight into a fight. Can’t you see how much he’s hurting thinking about the twins? I’m upset that you guys would even consider him capable of hurting the twins”
Keith never said he thought Lance would... He was hurt he hadn’t been told properly. And angry again that Lance seemed so ready to give up on him... He’d never given up on Lance. Then again. He didn’t lose his mother last month and have to deal with his douche siblings
“I didn’t think he’d hurt the twins... but... I... I’m supposed to be the father. All I want is him to lean on me more. To be able to tell me these things, and not act like he’s protecting me by not telling me”
“How am I supposed to tell you I’m defective! That it’s not enough to be fucked up but I’m defective on top of it!”
“You’re not defective! There’s nothing about you that I don’t love!”
Rieva let out a level breath
“Matt, take Keith and go for a walk. I’ll stay with Lance until he calms down”
“But...”
But he was Lance’s boyfriend...
“I think you both need to cool your heads”

Emmett Cullen Having a Male Mate would include:
Tumblr media
(I haven’t Slept in 72 hours so if this is bad I’ll rewrite it as soon as I’m able to get some proper sleep :) just let me know. This is also a long one and I hope y’all enjoy. Stay safe y’all)
Requested by: @shamelessloverhairdopainter (If this isn’t to your liking feel free to dm me and let me know)
He was not expecting you to walk in the door
Not because you’re a man, because he thought Alice would have given him a heads up
Doesn’t approach you at first, he’s to starstruck.
You notice his stare and offer him a small smile
He would normally feel slightly embarrassed for being caught gawking at you but he’s to busy being an extremely excited goofball
“Edward! What’s the new kid thinking!”
Edward had been shifting his eyes in between the two of you since the moment Emmett saw you
“He think’s your ‘kinda cute’ but is mainly confused about where he’s supposed to be going.”
“I know how to solve that!” He exclaims, slamming his hand on the table as he gets up
The man is nervous as hell walking up to you but the overwhelming urge to be near you over-rides the nerves
He forget’s about personal space for a second and walks up right behind you
“Uhm, excuse me.” He’d say tapping your shoulder
Not expecting you to flinch so hard you drop all the papers your were carrying
“Oh god I’m so sorry.” Suddenly those pesky nerves flood back
You’re still having a small heart attack as he starts to gather up your papers
“I-It’s okay, you just surprised me is all.”
Your heartbeat quickens slightly when you realize your jump scare mystery man was the cute guy who was staring at you- this does not go unnoticed by Emmett
“I’m Emmett, you just looked sort of lost so I was going to ask if you needed help.” He smirks handing your papers back.
“Oh? Was it that obvious?”
“Well the fact that you had your head stuck in a map was a dead giveaway.”
He ends up showing you around for the rest of the lunch break, talking and joking around as he does.
You didn’t know why he had decided to help you- considering everyone else just ignored you- but you were glad he did
He was glad he did too
You end up meeting everyday at lunch to hang out
Meeting up with him becomes on of the highlights of your day.
He is constantly bugging Edward and Jasper to know what you’re thinking and feeling
“Emmett If you want to know what he’s thinking just go and ask him!” Edward snaps after Emmett had caught him in a bad mood.
You overhear the conversation and although are a little confused at the context, you can’t help but get a little pissed off he was talking to Emmett like that.
Emmett awkwardly walk over to you and ask’s what your doing
“Nothing much, Hey can I ask you something?”
“Shoot.”
“Why’s your brother being such a dick?”
Emmett nearly chokes he laughed so hard
Edward sulks in the corner
After a few weeks you both get a bit restless only seeing each other during lunch but are to nervous to ask the other to hang out another time
You work up the courage to ask him to hang out outside of school tomorrow- randomly ambushing him the parking lot
“Yes!” He answers a tad to quickly, “Er, I mean that would be cool.”
Dude is absolutely pumped
Both of you realize you forgot one main part- planning what you wanted to do.
He clears his throat awkwardly “Well, If you want, you could come over to my house.”
You curse internally as you feel an unwanted blush spread across your face “Yeah, sure.”
Drives you to his house, showing you his favorite music on the way.
Has to fight back a laugh when you point out he didn’t buckle up
“Uh, can you wait here for a second?” He asks when you pull up to the house.
“Sure..”
He rushes inside and warns everyone you were here
Alice already saw it coming, everyone is on there best behavior making food for you
“Just play it cool.” He warns everyone before rushing back out to you.
“Everything alright?”
“Yup.” He answers smirking
You’re surprised when you walk in and everyone is staring at you.
“Uh... I hope it’s okay I came over.”
“Of course it is! A friend of Emmett’s is a friend of ours!” Esme beams, finally getting a look at this boy that had her son practically giddy
Emmett tugs you further into the house almost immediately, partially because he didn’t want you to feel ganged up on and also because he finally got to have some alone time with you
You end up playing a lot of video games- you lose your mind when Emmett plays Guitar Hero’s hardest level perfectly- Super speed really came in handy during gaming.
Esme and Carlisle show up in the middle of your gaming sesh with a snack for you
You gratefully accept it but insist they really didn’t have to
They insist it was there pleasure
They leave the two of you alone, they both are already consider you family
You eat while commenting on Emmett’s game play, nearly choking when he dies and throws the remotes across the room.
That day forward the awkwardness is basically gone
Bro Emmett
Protective Emmett
Playful Emmett
Emmett that throws you over his shoulder and run books it down the halls
Emmett that challenges you to fights despite the fact he towers over you and is all muscle
You can tell he let’s you win- although he does absolutely “pummel” you
He never actually hurts you- although you have hurt yourself a few time attempting to sneak attack him
He didn’t even flinch and you fell flat on your face
You still to this day have yet to live that down
You’re basically already dating without it being official
You go out constantly- you take a small chance and joke it’s almost like your dating
You keep your eyes  straight forward expecting some “Ew gross no homo” response
When it comes you spare a single glance and see him with a big grin spread across his face
That was when it clicked your feelings might be mutual
He already knew how you felt due to bugging Jasper
but that was when he knew it was time to ask you out
“Hey, Y/N?”
“Ya?”
“Do you want to go out?”
“Like..... a date?”
“Yup.”
Remain calm- remain caLM
“Yes!”
You both quietly sit there for a moment absolutely loosing your minds
“Awesome.” He smiles wrapping an arm around you and pulling you closer
“Hey Emmett?”
“What’s up Y/N?”
“I didn’t know you were into men.”
“Neither did I until you came along.”
Once you two started dating it was like a damn burst and all he wanted to do was be near you.
The feeling was mutual
Movie and Arcade dates are some of your favorites
You’ve made out in school, at your house, in the forest, in movies, almost everywhere
Almost always has a hand somewhere on you- mainly your thigh
He also adores taking you hiking, If you get tired he just picks you up and keeps on going
He’s a lovable bro
and a lovable teddy bear
If your parents were homophobic Emmett is alright with pretending to just be one of ‘the boys’ until your ready
When you are ready, he’s on his absolute best behavior. He knows he won’t be able to suddenly make them no homophobic but god damn he’s not going to give them a reason to hate him
If they treat you badly at home because of it you suddenly are spending most of your nights at the Cullen residence
Even Rosalie starts to live you
Emmett has no quarrel with revealing there secret to you
You’re doing your homework in Emmett’s room when he suddenly emerges, giving you a pat on the back and straight up telling you.
“It’s about time you know. Y/N my family and I are vampires.”
“....?”
Convinced it’s some weird joke
“Halloweens not for months... and April first was months ago... I don’t get it.”
He just laughs, sitting on the small futon couch next to you and tells you he’s telling the truth
You just let out a nervous laugh when you realize he’s serious
“Emmett are you feeling okay?”
“Yes? Why- I’m not crazy Y/N. Here let me show you.”
Takes you by the hand and leads you outside, past his nervous looking family who you cast confused looks at
He takes you out back, lets go of your hand, and then jump nearly 30 feet in the air and lands on a tree
“what the fuck” you whisper, watching your apparently not human boyfriend look down and laugh at you.
When he jumps down and lands next to you, your almost the one jumping 30 feet in the air
“You all right.”
“UHM!” You motion to the tree and back to him a few times, pure shock clouding your mind
“HOW?! WHEN?! WHY?!” You nearly yell
“I was attacked by a bear and Rosalie saved me in 1935.”
“A BEAR?!?- wait your almost a hundred?”
Big smile and a nod is the only response you get
This goes on for almost 20 minutes before you sigh and mumble “well ok then?” and head back inside
The rest of the cullens got a front row seat to the whole thing and considering the circumstance you’re handling it well
You’re relationship ends up being pretty much the same except you force him to watch Dracula and interview with the vampire, along with other vampire movies a lot.
You buy a vampire romance novel for “Research”
With the big secret out Emmett finally feels ready to talk about going a bit further in your physical relationship
You wait until your parents are away on a trip so you’re away from certain immortal with heightened hearing
Edward and Jasper give him side eyes as he leaves the house
Your heart is beating almost a mile a minute when you hear a knock at the door
You invite him in and in a matter of minutes things are picking up speed
You have both been repressed for so long it’s no surprise
You fall asleep on his chest afterwards- of course after the two out you chatted a bit
He spends the night breathing in your scent, stroking your hair, caressing your cheek- such soft touches for someone so inhumanly strong
When you wake up and the memories all come flooding back and your cheeks burn hot and your heartbeat steadily increases, you shine and bury your head in his chest when he starts laughing at how easily flustered you are
Flustered or not you both agree it will become a more regular activity
Emmett is so damn proud when you graduate, if he could cry he probably would’ve
Carries you out on his shoulders chanting some ridiculous rhyme he made up
You guys party all night
Will deny it to Carlisle but he definitely got you a little tipsy
Months later some nomad vampires start wreaking havoc for the cullens
When they threaten you Emmett goes major protection mode
Only leaves your side to eat when absolutely necessary
He can tell it’s taking a toll on you and everything else
That’s when he suggest’s turning you for your protection
Besides Rosalie everyone agrees
Carlisle tries his best to make it a pain less process
although nothing could truly stop the mind numbing burning sensation that consumed you for days until it suddenly all went black
When you woke up, everything was heightened, you’re hearing, your smell, your taste, you’re sight, everything was so intense.
You went to stand but got thrown off by your force and speed
Two strong arms held you steady
“Emmett?”
“ehm, yes.”
“That sucked.”
Earned you a small chuckle from him
He insists on teaching you everything, hunting, fighting, acting, how to go crazy but not to crazy
He show’s you how intense everything is now
And by everything I mean everything
You two became a force to be reckoned with
Those Nomad’s stood no chance
No matter where you guys were you were a power couple
The Strongest and gayest power couple to ever walk the earth
And it was going to stay that way for a long time
