Peak is back! Great to be back in this world with these insane but loveable characters. Can’t wait to see this arc animated. A lot of cool anime original stuff in this episode. If they keep up with the nice blend of source and original stuff, this is gonna be a special season.

I love how shadow uses the expression “I smell something” and all the girls start sniffing themselves and spraying perfume lmao.

God I missed Cid’s stupid humour. Him just repeating everything Mary said in the alley had me 😭 most unserious MC ever. Speaking of which, cool to see Mary in the anime finally

The lawless city arc is fun from start to finish and I know Nexus got something special cooked up for us here. This season will be nonstop fun. If you liked season 1, this should exceed it in every way.

About Yukime (Regular au timeline)

Yukime Mikami is a 26-year-old hashira currently set in the universe of Demon Slayer. She is a shorter-than-average-height woman, only measuring up at 5'2" with rather pale skin, that some would describe as rather sickly in appearance. They have white, messy hair with blue undertones and a mole under her left eye. Their eyes are blue and her pupils are drawn in a diamond shape but are only noticeable when she focuses on something. Otherwise, she is drawn without pupils in her eyes. She wears pink diamond-shaped earrings in both ears. It is noticed she has very rough hands despite her soft exterior due to training extensively. She resembles her sister, Sakura Mikami.

Yukime wields both the classic nichirin sword and a nichirin spear that she is often seen carrying around on her back. In this universe, she uses Ice breathing, which is a subtype of water breathing she created for herself entirely by accident. Her birthday is November third and she uses They, she, or he pronouns and identifies as nonbinary.

Her English VA claim is Monica Rial and Japanese va claim is Ryōko Ono.

About his personality

Yukime is initially introduced as a rather airheaded character. He constantly has his head in the clouds, ignoring the world around her. At her introduction, she is only just barely shown paying attention to the Hashira meeting. She isn't easily bothered by others trying to get a rise out of her. She is described by others as emotionless and uncaring, even amidst the blood and gore of demon slaying.

It isn't uncommon for most people, upon first meeting, to mistake Yukime as mute. Unless she has something to say to you, it isn't very likely that she will speak. Kaiya compliments her in this manner by usually doing all of the talking for both of them.

Yukime builds relationships with others that he believes are usually one-sided. When She meets Tanjiro again after the entertainment arc, she refers to him as her brother as she just recently came to realize they shared the same master, and that he was the boy Urokodaki referred to in his letters. She feels a similar bond to Giyuu, though she hardly interacts with the water hashira.

Despite her ability to detach herself from the world being unrivaled amongst the hashira, she is rather caring. When those she considers weaker than herself are in danger, she will fling herself between the attacker and the victim without consideration of the consequences. She has, on multiple occasions, been hurt due to this. When thanked for her actions, she is seemingly very humble as she only states she must protect the weak as someone stronger than them. This protective streak has been in her since childhood, as she is seen in flashbacks protecting her younger sister from their father.

Despite her disconnect from the world in front of her, Yukime isn't very naive. When people try to swindle her, she stares at them openly and calls them out on the facts. Her sense of right and wrong is maintained even in everyday life on what is fair and what isn't fair. She also possesses the uncanny ability to tell when others are lying, as she can see their auras which change color when the other person lies.

Backstory

Young Yukime's life was rife with troubles. From her mother abandoning their family shortly after her younger sister was born to the steady decline of her father's business as a doctor. However, she continued to look at the positive aspects of life and raised her sister while her father worked.

When things turned for the worse with her father's business as a doctor, he would begin trying to take out things on his youngest daughter, Sakura, and blame her for their misfortunes. Yukime constantly threw herself between the both of them, protecting her younger sister from blows and harsh words.

Sakura would be turned into a demon one day as she was desperate to find a way to protect Yukime from their father as Yukime had protected her so earnestly. However, after becoming a demon she was starving - and she killed their father and attacked Yukime when she returned. They would fight each other until the sun rose and, when Sakura tried to flee from the rising sun, held her sister in place begging for an explanation. Sakura would burn to death in the sun in Yukime's arm and she would promise that, one day, she would kill whomever was responsible for this and build a better world, so Sakura would have a happy life when she was next reincarnated.

Personality: Yui is a very fun loving, playful, mischievous woman who likes to stir the pot whenever possible. She shows a more mature, serious side when working but still retains her playful nature. As a high ranking youkai in terms of spiritual power, she wields a certain amount of influence in youkai circles, more so than her wife. However, when she is in hell she is treated the same as a hell hound due to her fox-like appearance until they get a taste of her power.

Yui enjoys teasing others, especially members of the Goetia nobility (namely Andrealphus because it is fun to get under his skin. She makes it a personal mission to fluster the hell out of him, much to Caim's exasperation.)

Short Bio: Yui was born into a rather prestigious youkai clan, and most of her life involved the strict rules and mannerisms of the upper class society. This would often clash with her mischievous, fun personality and was a source of tension among her family. It also isolated her from a good chunk of her peers, though she would find a friend in Caim who was raised in a similar manner as herself. The two would quickly bond over their experiences, and as they grew older, this bond would deepen into something more.

Once Yui came of age, she fled from the confines of her clan and took on a human guise, fully intending to experience a more free life. Caim went with her after denouncing her position in hell, and after many years the pair married and now live together in a small house on the outskirts of Tokyo.

(AJDNJDJD TYSM FOR REQUESTING MY BABES!! AND HERE'S A LIL DOODLE I DREW OF THEM!!)

As I said before, she found out during the Swordsmith Village Arc, while fighting Hantengu

Genya was screaming at Tanjiro how he's gonna kill the Moon and become a pillar

Yukime overheard him and, because she was already wired from the battle, started yelling at Genya how SHE'S gonna be the one to defeat the Moon!

They kept bickering until Tanjiro scolded them and told them they need to work as a team

Yukime realised how strong Genya actually is after he threw a tree during the battle

They didn't talk much while recovering at first, until Yuki suddenly approached him and Tanjiro while they were sitting at a table and talking

She stood at the table menacingly, a dark look in her eyes

She asked Tanjiro to leave the room

He went in to try an calm her down, before he caught a whiff of something and realised what was going on

Then, he just smiled a bit and left the room while saying bye to Genya, who looked after him, betrayed

Now, Genya was stuck alone in a room, with a supposedly pissed of cute, 160 cm g i r l

While he was weighing his options of escape, Yuki SLAMMED her palms against the table

Yukime was silent for a moments, before she whipped her head up

She had stars in her eyes and a mischievous smile on her lips

She leaned on her hands, close to Genya's face and started bombarding him with questions about his powers

Genya was dumbfounded, and before he could say anything she got out of his face and said "AND THEN YOU WERE LIKE "HYAAAAAH"" while mimicing how he threw the tree and kept blabbering how cool it was

When Genya was finally able to get a word out, he muttered a meek "Please, slow down...", his hands making a "stop" motion

Then, Yukime suddenly stopped, her eyes widening and  a small blush forming on her cheeks

She straightened out and rubbed the back of her neck, looking to the side and awkwardly smiling while saying "Ah, sorry, sorry, I got a lil' excited! Haha!"

But, she quickly bounced back, a dazzling smile replacing her awkward one, and she extended her hand to Genya, introducing herself as "Yukime Yamashiro, a member of the Snow Breath family and user of the Snow Breath, the next snow pillar! But you can call me Yuki!"

Genya hesitantly takes her hand and introduces himself

Yuki then sits down on the chair Tanjiro was using and repeats her questions, only this time slower and patiently waiting for the cherry-faced boy to answer

((Because I’m tired of him being offed solely as a coward today I’m gonna rant about Mell.))

((Mell, while indecisive, soft spoken and quick to fold on situations is still a very brave boy and his primary problem is that he overthinks literally everything. He’s plagued by indecision, guilt, worry, anxiety, etc until he all but begs someone to assist him. This doesn’t make him a coward. He’s not trying to be the strong ‘I can do this on my own type’ he just doesn’t know how to properly ask for help and, quite honestly, it’s not like he has anyone offering to help him---initially anyhow.

He desperately wants to be loved and seen as important. he wants to make a mark on someone’s life and yes, his sister is the person that fills that need---he also does the same for her. In their first lives they literally (again, initially) only had one another to depend on, they have absolutely no one else. So yes, Mell might cower and balk if you threaten his sister but that’s only because you’re threatening the most important person in the world to him.

His being needing of love doesn’t invalidate his kindness, nor does it make his empathy any less real---even if some of it comes across as selfish or self serving. Because deep down he is a very kind, thoughtful boy, he just has trouble communicating. He averts his gaze when things get too difficult and has no one to help him redirect his focus. He was forced to live to two standards--his home’s and his sister’s---rather than just be himself. He was led to believe that just being ‘Mell’ wasn’t enough so he tackles things in the wrong mindset, does things for the wrong reasons, and ends up blaming himself and thinking he’s useless when things don’t go right or when he can’t meet said expectations.

His indecisiveness and whining does lead to some bad shit happening and he pays the price for it---but the fact that he does attempt to make amends shouldn’t be ignored. He does learn from things and his guilt is genuine.

His bravery is spontaneous, instinctual. If you let him think about it he’ll more than likely make a blunder because he’s overthinking everything and getting nervous. He stands up to two separate men---dangerous, ruthless men who could kill both him and his sister immediately---on more than one occasion.

When Yukim/asa pulls a blade on his near comatose sister to enlist his aid he relents, yes, but who wouldn’t? That’s his family. Every other word out of his mouth up until that point was him saying no, telling him he wasn’t going to help.
