Poorest Little Meow Meow NOT from a BL: Bonus Round
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Submitted Reasons Under Cut]
Han Juwon: He is a typical kdrama lead in theory, his mom has been taken from him at a young age, his dad sent him far away to private schools and is using him in his political schemes. Han Juwon has mysophobia, not a social bone in his body and a RBF that do not endear him to people at all. He's not above using people and a little tweaking of the law to reach his goals.
Wave:
Ryu Sooyel: look how soppy wet he is. no one respects him. not even himself
Vier:
Kishimoto Ruka:
Katha: Khatha is such a poor little meow meow that he should be allowed to participate.
Lee Dongsik: He has been wrongly accused of killing his twin sister 20 years ago but never really cleared his name (no body, no crime, no convicted murderer) and is still searching for her. People still think he did it and are not afraid to treat him like shit. He's heavily traumatized. And let's say he's not above a little manipulation and crime to find his sister and her murderer
Jiang Zisuan: he spent like half of his life trying to avenge the death of his older sister and then for some reason just cant seem to actually do that before (SPOILER) dying in a random woman‘s arms who he employed because she looks like his sister and imagining that its actually her. she also was kind of in love with him which made this whole situation worse. and he killed so many people on the way except the guy he actually wanted to
Yun Biqui: SPOILER WARNING FOR SERIES: Ten years ago, Yun Biqiu was tricked into betraying the sect leader he idolized, Li Xiangyi. At the behest of a beautiful woman, he poisoned LXY; he only intended to temporarily incapacitate LXY, but the antidote he was promised turned out to be fake. LXY disappeared and was presumed dead, and Biqiu never stopped blaming himself and hoping that LXY would return. EXTREME SPOILER WARNING FOR END OF SERIES: When LXY eventually did return ten years later, Biqiu pretended to be re-beguiled by the beautiful woman in order to sabotage her evil schemes; to convince her of his loyalty, he also pretended to betray LXY again, stabbing him non-fatally and bringing him to her. His sabotaging allowed LXY to escape, though, and helped contribute to the defeat of all the baddies. Despite this, he still believed that he deserved to die for everything he'd done previously; when confronted with his past treachery and presumed current treachery, he did not defend himself, and would have willingly submitted to his own execution. Luckily, LXY arrived in time to reveal the truth of Biqiu's regret and loyalty, and also finally gave Biqiu peace by forgiving him for what he'd done ten years ago. And Biqiu cried 🥺
Master Amin: girlbossed to close to the sun
Shiro: Sleeping with a sleazy, much older politician in order to get information about his missing sister, who isn’t even his sister by blood. Openly gay yakuza and ready to fight about that. Cohabitating with a painfully strait laced and uptight virgin penguin. (A cop. Not a literal penguin.)

Things Left Behind (1280 words) by eirenical
Summary:
Yun Biqiu has brought his mistress a gift. It may be tattered and torn, but it's still oh, so much fun to play with, and Jiao Liqiao enjoys little more than a brand new toy.
Jiao Liqiao ran a hand down the crossed fabric of Li Xiangyi's robes. The material was thin. Rough. Poor quality. Several layers deep to make up for its lack of weight. And it was stained almost as red as her own now. She turned to the man standing beside her and clicked her teeth. "Such a shame, Biqiu. Do you always deliver presents in such damaged condition?"
Yun Biqiu bent nearly double in his bow to her—more, some would argue, than was her due, but she would never deny a useful tool the right to venerate her as he saw fit. "My apologies. I was careless."
Jiao Liqiao turned back to Li Xiangyi and ran her hands down the center line of his robes once more, pausing only when she reached his belt. As she started picking apart the closure, Biqiu shifted beside her, his unease rolling out into the room like the smell of rotting fruit. She pulled the belt from Li Xiangyi's waist and started slowly peeling back the many layers until she'd reached his innermost garments. Biqiu's tension was palpable, now, like an itch against her skin. Eventually she snapped, "Go and fetch a basin of water and a cloth."
Notes, tags, detailed warnings, and other fic info beneath the cut.
September 1, 2024: This idea has been kicking around my head ever since I noticed that the robes that Li Xiangyi is wearing when Biqiu stabs him in Episode 36 are not the ones he's wearing when he wakes up in the dungeon in episode 37. Someone must have undressed and redressed him while he was unconscious. So I've decided the someone was Jiao Liqiao and let her have a little fun. 😏
Detailed Warnings: As implied by the tags, Li Lianhua is unconscious through the entire fic and thus can't consent to anything that's going on (thus the tags).
In terms of what Jiao Liqiao actually does to him, it's mostly touching him nonsexually, undressing him, digging her fingers into his stab wound, and one kiss towards the end.
She is however, planning to do quite a bit more once he's awake and that is apparent in her thoughts throughout the fic.
Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: 莲花楼 | Mysterious Lotus Casebook (TV) Rating: Mature Warnings: Rape/Non-Con Relationships: Jiao Liqiao/Li Lianhua | Li Xiangyi Characters: Jiao Liqiao, Li Lianhua | Li Xiangyi, Yun Biqiu Additional Tags: Non-Consensual Somnophilia, (mostly touching nothing overtly sexual except in jiao-jie's thoughts), Captivity, Torture, Wound Play, Undressing, Dressing, Treating Someone Like a Doll, Rape/Non-con Elements, Unconsciousness

I can’t believe people think li lianhua died because he couldn’t forgive himself liiiiiike
he cured a guy. a guy who had an incurable poison. a guy who was involved in li xiangyi’s original death 10 years ago. a guy who never forgave himself for 10 years and continued to feel guilty. a guy who pulled off a cunning gambit all by himself because he was willing to be seen as a villain and didn’t mind dying. a guy who stabbed him in the same spot he was stabbed in the east sea 10 years ago.
and after curing him, li lianhua told him to live well and take care of himself. and the guy said okay.
what could this mean

JLQ was supposedly hoping against having to attic wife DFS but she fully had Biqiu prepare an iron shielded room just to cage DFS in. (And who knows what else was in that room?) It takes time to design, plan, source and build something like that. Like... months in advance. It had like... spring loaded and extremely THICK chains meant to capture strong ppl with. So he even planned for someone with actual power levels trying to escape or fight. There were arrays and traps surrounding the entire building, both facing outward for attackers and facing the building for escapees. Which means they were prepared for possible rescuers.
Yun Biqiu designed and built that for her. I honestly wonder what he was thinking or how he managed his character portrayal in front of her. Where he's supposed to be enthralled by her and yet he's building a cage for her obsession. Did he have to fake jealousy and reconciliation to be believable?
We can hear DFS pounding on the walls from within when he gets trapped in there. (And how specific a placement it is to be on top of the wedding/bedroom chambers?) Did Biqiu deliberately mess up the creation of that room like he did with the traps outside? Or does he actually hold any residual feelings for JLQ? Or does he see an opportunity to act out his resentment for being in this situation to begin with?
How easy would it be for this one location to be the one spot that's a true trap? Did he ever think even for a moment that he can rig it so when JLQ enters, the room locks down and entombs her?
DFS, who literally everyone saw is now powerless, would be a dead man anyway. He's just another villian to be taken down as collateral damage. Depending on the situation, Biqiu feasibly could walk away without anyone ever knowing there is anyone up there.

WARNING: MYSTERIOUS LOTUS CASEBOOK SPOILER.
I think I'm one of those who can't hate Yun Biqiu:")
Can someone explain to me (with more details, I really don't get why he gave Bicha poison to LXY), what did he exactly do? What sort of influence was he under?
Thanks in advance!
P.P.S: There might be spoilers in the comments too. Beware.

Di Feisheng thinks he has it all under control, and everything will be fine. However, on the 13th anniversary of the East Sea battle (and the night spent in Jiao Liqiao's wedding room with Li Lianhua ten years after that), he finds out that it just takes one insensitive remark from Yun Biqiu for him to finally snap.
Fang Duobing and the Di Fortress orphans help, though.
Written for the East Sea Battle anniversary as discussed on Tumblr.
Inspired by this post by @bbcphile where the OP talks about DFS's C-PTSD and his relentless control as a reaction to that. In this fic, that one thing OP speculated about comes to pass, and he finally has that huge breakdown after holding it together for too long.
Thanks to @lyselkatz for reading the fic in the raw, and to suggest a few sources for Lunar New Year preparations that I could weave into the text.
Also tagging @mx-myth and @quicklymybasement because they showed interest in the WIP Snip I posted a few days ago.
For this fic to make sense, you might want to have read the preceding entry in this series at the very least, in which I introduced the three Di Fortress orphans who are raised in Tianji Hall because they are too traumatised to be sen anywhere else.

random silly idea for a mlc modern au I had while rewatching the first few eps:
Yun Biqiu would be on Reddit: "AITA for poisoning one of my friends for a girl?"
Qiao Wanmian would start a subreddit for Li Xiangyi's death conspiracy theorists, FDB is one of the top contributors, Xiao Zijin is spamming "he is dead, has been dead for 10 years, can't possibly be alive" under an alt user.

Yun Biqiu is the exact sort of pathetic regretful guy I enjoy. He was fool enough to believe Jiao Liqiao had given him the real antidote to Bicha. He's the one person who can actually be held responsible for Li Xiangyi's death among all those who blame themselves for it. He could've declared himself worthless and run away from facing what he'd done once the Sigu sect scattered, but no. He stays with the rest of Baichuan Court. He carries that grief and self-loathing for a decade, choosing to stay and do what he could to keep Li Xiangyi's vision alive. Even if the people, the place were constant reminders of how he'd fucked up (not that he could have ever forgotten even if he left). And it isn't even about attempting to atone, to seek forgiveness! None of it will ever be enough, because what he did cannot be undone, nothing can bring Li Xiangyi back. The world could forgive him, Li Xiangyi himself could forgive him, but nothing will ever make him forgive himself.
