please watch dead boy detectives!

anyway just doing my part--

i watched the dead boy detectives and loved it. with both yockey and carver involved, some loving homages to spn and other similar shows, but it still felt original. the stories were fun even if they got very dark, the casting was great, and i'm excited for where it's going next.

we've been told over and over that netflix cares if people FINISH the season in a certain amount of time, so please give it a go as soon as you can!

How often has Alphys caught Blue or otherwise called him out on keeping secrets?

Actually caught him, I’d say a handful of times. Not super common, and the first few are really the only ones that Blue was like “oh shit” about lmao. She’s a smart cookie! It’d be weirder if it never happened. (Un)fortunately, her noticing is an easy fix. Just need a new Reset.

Calling him out, though, that happens a lot more: from little comments here and there that make him sweat, to full on asking him wtf is happening. Just depends on how well he was hiding his stress and “uncharacteristic” behaviors! Blue’s learned to talk his way around a lot of it without majorly concerning her, though. XD

Cacoa is a level 20 brat.

She up off my lap, walked over to the end of the sofa, and started her "I'm annoyed" meowing. I call her back over to my lap, and she gets louder. I get up, carry her back over to the recliner, sit down, rinse and repeat after 10 minutes.

She won't even look at me! Just makes the annoying merp noise she uses to wake me up to feed her. Except she starts this at 5AM to make me feed her, except she gets fed at 8AM. I fed her less than an hour ago! Her bowl is full!!!

She stopped this nonsense when we adopted Jasper because he would go investigate, followed by her screaming like someone stept on her when he came within two feet of her. Just a couple days after he died last year, she started again and has only gotten worse.

Absolute brat. No, we're not getting another cat. The only rooms with doors are thr bedroom and bathroom, making it impossible to introduce a new cat safely. The bedroom is way too small. Just enough space for a bed, standing wardrobe (no closets), and walking around the bed.

Nope, just dealing with an absolute brat that Will. Not. Stop.

She gets locked outta the bedroom when she starts up. Sometimes, she'll even climb on us, while we're in bed, and scream. A literal cat yowling scream that, before we got Jasper, resulted in police banging on the door because the neighbors complained about screaming. That was fun.

Now she's on the floor, louder, and knocking things around as soon as she jumps off my lap. Oh, I tried playing. Wand toys, fetch, laser pointer, she loses interest after a couple minutes. I have no idea wtf she wants except to be a brat.

I love my cat, but right now I wish I had a Nerf gun so I could shoot her with it. Zero harm, 100% funny, and she'll with we r be amused or run away.

Do not suggest an animal behaviorist!!! I spoke to one, they suggested another cat, playing, new toys, rotating the toys, a birdfeeder, and grooming. It's wet, cold, and raining outside, and zero sidewalks, which means no walking. In the summer, we go walking in yard because hot street. We use just hummingbird feeders because of the rodent issue here, and hummingbirds have vanished from the area because winter. We bought and rotate her toys, she gets brushed daily, and now looks at my hand when I use the laser pointer instead of looking at the dot on the floor or wall.

I love my cat, but right now I wanna lock her in thr bedroom so I have peace.

Romance and videogames, certainly an... interesting topic (I think)

Upfront, I just don't really care for it. Doesn't help that I'm very much aromantic, so I'll be discussing things with that lens, but there's one thing that only just occurred to me about how romance is treated in games that I'm particularly not a fan of.

I don't like romance as the end goal of every relationship where it's a potential option.

It feels... weird. Especially when nigh every game that does that also conflates sex and romance together. There's a number of times where I do like a character and think they're interesting, but the only way to actually continue on with their personal stuff is to romance them. If you don't, then they act all sad and disappointed (which, let me tell you, does not do any favours for my "can't make the fictional virtual people upset"-ness) and you can't really do much more with them. Or other cases where you agree to something thinking "ah yeah this is something I'd just casually do with people for funsies" but apparently the game decides to take that as a romance thing for some reason.

It's almost like those games are (inadvertently or otherwise) saying that the only relationships that really matter are the romantic ones, which... I have many issues with that actually. Or that the end goal of any relationship is to end up romantically involved, which I also have issues with. Doesn't help that 98% of games that do stuff like this also only allow for monogamy, like cowards. Though (and I can't believe I'm saying this) polygamy actually has its own issues here, because then this situation applies to so many more characters at once.

Don't even get me started on the conflation of sex and romance, and how the former of those often just feels like a strange form of player reward for doing the romance.

I know games can't account for every single option or every single kind of player, fuck just even thinking about the scope of doing such a thing terrifies me. But, if you're going to heavily include romance into something that isn't predominantly a romance genre, I would very greatly appreciate the option to go "sure I'll go along with whatever, but I don't want anything romantic to come out of this." Without tanking my reputation with them, preferably. Sometimes people are cool enough without a romantic relationship, so let me keep that.

Having Jimmy bunt when everyone was playing far out is SOOOO FUNNY, love love that decision, probably one of my fav parts.

I do have a question, when Jimmy is up to bat the second time in that chapter and he strikes out, his second strike he foul tips it and the catcher catches it, shouldn’t that be an automatic out and not the second strike? Or am I missing something?
