how do U find connections

if someone surprises you with a level of vulnerability you didnt expect but now get to treasure.. that is both an offering and a request for you to do the same, you can take pleasure in returning it by exposing something about yourself in turn, this is way more intuitive w physical intimacy but its also true for talking about your feelings. it took me a bizarrely long time to realize this

vulnerability is always unexpected at first... its capacity to surprise, instruct, and delight is part of what makes it special... vulnerability is also rhythmic.. in this way it is like poetry

intentionally make random choices. do everything u can to escape rigid patterns of all kinds and seek different paths

the more connected you are to yourself and your life the easier it will be to find other people ... what does it mean to be connected to yourself thats the hard part but also when you know you know kinda....like u have to figure it out for yourself. sorry idk

or maybe you need to use tautologies and reductive definitions of the self: if you are not finding any connections it might be because you are someone who is not finding connections. and you need to become someone who does find them in order to find them.

you will probably not be able to know who that someone is until you become them, but you can try changing in different ways until you start to find connections, then keep doing that. *by "changing" and "becoming someone else" i dont mean be inauthentic, i just mean:

what do you think of yourself, what do you believe about connection, what do you do about it, what do you force yourself to do, what do you want to try, what are you scared of,

try obsessing over the idea of breaking out of yourself (this is what i do)

i wish i had a more elegant answer to this question i really love it i want to try answering it differently over and over until i feel completely incomprehensible

have you watched pride and prejudice and zombies btw? i saw it for the first time yesterday and it was as wild as i had hoped sfhjkgf. both a terrible p&p adaptation obviously and a terrible zombie movie but highly entertaining! idk what are your thoughts? ^^

I have indeed! I watched it on Halloween last year. I cannot believe it exists but, honestly? I'm grateful that it does because it's so unhinged and such an utterly absurd concept it actually (for me) kind of worked... but then again I don't really care for zombie media. Not really sure who the target audience is because I wouldn't imagine there to be a huge amount of overlap between P&P stans and zombie enjoyers hehe but I'm not going to complain that someone decided to make it!

I thought it was a nice homage to the original story and actually it was surprisingly faithful to the source material in terms of dialogue?? Minus the zombies, of course. Though I wasn't very impressed with the Darcy, he wasn't tall enough and didn't really have the haughtiness down (well, as haughty as one could be mid-zombie apocalypse)... plus I wanted to hand him a throat lozenge throughout the entire movie lol, he sounded like something was stuck in his throat! BUT I loved Lily James as Elizabeth and the cast had so many familiar faces from various other things I've watched. Matt Smith might be my favourite Mr Collins, too. He was so book accurate and brilliantly tall and awkward, especially at the Netherfield ball.

Also Darcy's first proposal? 100000/10. The only way the original scene could have been improved in the novel would have been if Elizabeth could've kicked him after he told her that he was responsible for separating Jane and Bingley and then thrown various objects at him. I loved that for her! 'Indifferent?!😡SHE'S!!👊SHY!!👊' lives rent free in my mind, too.

I also cannot believe it included the line which deserves to be in every adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, when Darcy included in his letter the, 'I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look, or the words which laid the foundation. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun,' line, ahhhhhh! I was swooning.

I wouldn't watch it frequently and it's not the greatest film I've ever seen but it's guaranteed to put a smile on your face and I appreciate how unserious yet 100% serious the entire thing is. To be honest, I'd rather see 1000 more silly P&P adaptations like that than have it adapted by people who don't understand the original novel or respect Jane Austen as an author!!

thanks for asking bout boundaries! For shippy stuff I have less issues with rating and more issues with content, largely because I'm. Weirdly Particular about characterization, esp when it's my version of the character, if that makes sense. So, if I get a request and I personally think 'he would not say that' I probably wouldn't go for that one. if that makes sense. Apologies in advance.

So, speaking of character. Mortarion is not one of the uh. Easier primarchs to hang around. He's Pressed in both the Re- and De- directions and also acts like this:

HOWEVER.

All is not lost, we can work with this. He doesn't really hate baselines, and despite his habit of self-isolation, given the way his early days went I'd argue he's actually quite desperate to be social. He Likes People, that's why he became the Reaper. Man specifically likes to have His People, and His People are generally the hardy, direct, loyal type. You understand the legion values, pull off some consistent competency, show you can keep up with the gang, and he's got your back.

possibly related: I think about that excerpt where he rescues a marine by literally scruffing him out of a pile and like dusting him off before setting him down again like 'there u go. continue with your destruction my child.' like. not infrequently.

All this to say, I think with a little bit of ye old human persistence hunting stamina someone could get through to him. Even convince him to use a pillow every so often.

Right as I was making my blog I was actually caught in some crossfire on the sidewalk because I was staring at my phone instead of paying attention and I got shot in the arm and the bullet went all the way through and I stared at the wound where the bullet opened me up from the inside on its way through me and watched as the blood started to flow and I held up my arm to the sunlight streaming between the buildings and glittering over the strip of ocean visible between them and as I looked through the hole in my arm I could see the world on the other side, I could see the orange light melting over everything, reflected off the shiny black panels of the skyscrapers, I could see the white gulls flecked against the twisted pink wisps of clouds, the pigeons abandoning their crumbs on the crosswalk and scattering into the sky as the light went green and the cars started to roar by, I could see everything, tinged by red, dizzy with the metallic smell of myself, and I looked down and saw the way I was staining the world, how I left a smear of myself on it as I began to crawl into the middle of the street so that everyone could see how beautiful I was, and that’s when I knew I had transformed into the shell of softness that surrounded and protected the dying thing I once considered myself, in that moment if you had asked me my name I would have just pointed with my good arm to the gaping wound in the thing that once was an arm and was never really mine, I would have looked at you through it, squinting, seeing all the world from the slow and blurry perspective of a bullet mid-fire, knowing I was the bullet that had entered and destroyed me, knowing that all was left of me was the rough edge where I shot through myself and didn’t turn around, and, like light, I streamed through every opening I found
