You know, I rlly thought that moving out of my hometown for college was going to make my life less weird overall, not, like, objectively more bizarre. But, like, out of the frying pan and into the fire, yknow??? Or maybe it's more like just a different kind of frying pan bc idk if this situation is worse but it's definitely weird in a different way.

Like, modified memories and disappearing students??? Why me??? Why us, I guess. It involves this whole party of weirdos after all. Not only are Zanther and Coach's memories fucked, but we checked the yearbook in the library from last year and Don Graves and Suma Trun BOTH were missing!! But not like they never existed, no, Sersh said the book had been tampered with using illusion or, like, transmutation magic? Whatever that means. Ugh. Even more weirdly, Roderick C was in the book and still on campus even though he was one of the three students that we met outside the manor. He didn't seem to remember being at the manor, but 🤷‍♀️

Everyone thinks the cheer squad might be behind this mysterious bs, but at least we don't make our members perform blood magic and sign, like, soul-binding pacts in some weird dark ritual like the business club apparently does 🙄 And that's not even on our radar of stuff to look into, to like give an idea of how weird shit is right now.

I'm way more concerned abt Zanther tbh. Sersh also scanned him for magic and he's been enchanted. She kept talking about a possible modify memory spell. Which would explain a lot, but I'm still sooooo confused by all of this 😵‍💫 We want to try and find the deck of many things again if we can, since its whereabouts might, like, give us some kinda clue. idfk.

At least the dinner with Zanther & everyone went ok. I wish Mire remembered him, they were so cute when they were flustered (lol), but maybe it's for the best bc he's being kind of a downer rn. We keep trying to tell him it's not his fault (minus Thad, ofc, but he's an asshole anyways) but ig it makes sense if he rlly thinks Mire disappeared bc of something he did. Still, what a mood-killer after I tried so hard to get everyone together for a nice dinner with no ulterior motives whatsoever!! He was nice enough to pay tho <3

Oh, ohhh, and I hard-launched Javanesh to the group, which turned out to be a fucking mistake. Not bc of anything he did, ofc- he was rlly sweet and even asked me out on another date to go to the Seelie Market!! but my party decided to invite themselves along to the outing too. Thad was just being a little bitch abt me spilling his drink on him earlier (he deserved it i prommie), but now they're alllll gonna be there. Which, like, whatever. It is an open event, it's not like I'm gonna fucking gatekeep a public night market. At least Willow seemed super excited about it (is excited the right word? She kept staring at the poster, so I guess so?) so I'm glad she's happy! We're just gonna have to find a way to sneak away from the others for a bit, is all 😘

Zoey spends the last few days of Summer Vacation in the Plane of Fire She only sees glimpses of Anji's dad She sees a lot of Anji's stepmoms though, who Anji hates The Angels press Zoey for gossip, particularly about Carmilla They tell her that she owes them, and has to spend more time with them next vacation Zoey agrees Summer Vacation ends, and the students of Wyrm Academy return to campus Carmilla nearly tackles Aurora out of excitement Aurora assures Carmilla that she did not forget the gift, and pulls out a plague doctor mask Carmilla is moved to tears Aurora tells her to put it on Carmilla thought it was just for decoration, but agrees Carmilla goes to ask Doya to take a picture of her Carmilla accidentally terrifies Doya Rin asks Vladimir how his summer was Vladimir complains about the heat and humidity Zoey and Larksann catch up on what happened Larksann mentioned that she was working on something, but didn't finish it, and so brought the piece to school Urzmaktok asks White how campus was while he was gone He tells White that his home was also hot, but with a different type of heat Greta rambles about her family to Doya Rin remembers the souvenirs he got from Valtahost, and begins to deliver them to our group He gives Aurora and Carmilla sunglasses to help with Lux Concordia's lights Carmilla excuses herself in a suspicious way Aurora wonders why Rin suggests that it's related to his blood Aurora is horrified, and asks who all knows about it Rin admits that it was just his immediate friends He adds that Doya thinks that Aurora has a crush on him Aurora is disgusted, and apologizes for it She asks Rin for peanut butter, and explains that she wants to put it on Carmilla's pillow as a revenge prank Rin supplies the peanut butter, but is hesitant to help her Meanwhile, Carmilla goes to Nicollin's dorm and asks him how his summer was Nicollin describes the seminars about seminars that he attended He asks if Carmilla did vampire things over the summer Carmilla doesn't answer, and asks to speak to Nicollin Nicollin offers to take a message Carmilla tries to slip by to talk to him directly Sunny notices, and tells Carmilla that he didn't do much during that time Classes begin, and all the first assignments are to just write about what happened over Summer Vacation Throughout the day, our group hear rumors that Anji and Zanther broke up Our group, except Zoey, are targeted by their usual bullies Rin goes to speak to Doya He explains that he struggled to decide what to get her from Valtahost, and shows her a pen Doya clicks on the pen, and a red dot appears where it is pointing Next, Rin goes to talk to Larksann and Zoey in their dorm He shows them his gift for them - a mechanical puppy toy Larksann and Zoey are ecstatic Zoey asks what she owes Rin for it Rin assures her that these type of things are normal in Valtahost The two discuss Valtahost's oddities

Next, Rin goes to talk to White He is stopped when Chadriz exits his room Chadriz demands to know what Rin is looking at, before storming away Rin reaches White's room He explains to Urzmaktok and White that he got toys for the others, but thought that they would appreciate more practical items He gives them devices that clean dust from an area White expresses his gratitude, saying that gifts from a friend are always appreciated The students of Wyrm Academy's first year students return to their normal boring standard, leaving some wishing for the return of adventure Our group hears about the upper classman's fashion shows and masquerade dances They also hear about the Dragon House Mage Tower games They overhear students talking about the Dragon Houses, and how Laelia was retired as a mascot and replaced with another more terrifying mascot Laelia tries to convince Doya to join the Mage Tower team Doya refuses, telling Laelia that she hates sports Laelia insists, claiming that sports will make her cool Doya counters that she prefers her free time, and isn’t a mage anyway Laelia points out that Mage Tower doesn't require its players to be mages Doya is unmoved

While nothing major occurs in the later half of the year, there is still some excitement During Inkomancy class, Carmilla is surprised by a pop quiz in her She panics, but goes on to ace it After class, she is approached by a student who offers a necklace Carmilla drops it and hisses when she learns it's made out of silver Nandor wonders why the student gave her that, and comments that fiends don't live silver either During the Arcano-botany class, Puffcap accidentally creates a mushroom that explodes into vines Zoey dodges the vines, and receives praise for it During a trip into the Sedgemoor, Doya saves Zanther from falling into the mud Zanther is grateful Doya jokes that she was worried that Zanther would be extinguished by the water She asks why he and Anji broke up Zanther explains that Anji simply got bored of their relationship During Physical Education, White spots a giant rat fighting off some creatures while sparring with Quentillius Antiphiun Melentor III The two go to investigate White notices some goo in the rat's hair The two hear screeches as two stirges descend and attack! FIGHT! White incinerates them with burning sand, Quentillius congratulates his hard work VICTORY! As Magical Physiologies begins, the students enter to see Professor Sharpbeak feeding a hippogriff Professor Sharpbeak asks the class about it Angelique gives a dictionary definition about it Sharpbeak tells the class that this hippogriff is named Goldfeather, and that she has worked with it a lot Sharpbeak explains that the class is to use their knowledge about hippogriffs and try to pet it The Angels are able to pet it Carmilla and White are able to as well Doya and Zoey get snapped at Rin is afraid, but is able to eventually approach and pet it That night, Doya walks home from her job and sees a line of students confessing their feelings to Anji and giving her gifts She spots Rin, who thinks there's food at the front, in the line too

Rin reaches the front of the line Anji asks him what he wants She's baffled when he has no idea what's happening She admits that she finds all of this annoying, and would rather not deal with all of this Rin offers to help her reject all of the students Anji is grateful, and leaves as her familiar and Rin start rejecting students for her Doya approaches Anji when she is alone Anji tells Doya to go to the line if she wants to confess Doya assures her that she doesn't want to confess She wonders if people liking Anji like that was a curse Anji tells her no Doya offers her a sandwich Anji hesitates, and takes it Doya tries to ask Anji about the party and the theater She asks Anji about magic instead Doya rambles about how she can't do magic The two discuss whether her aasimar traits are magic or not Doya asks to see Anji cast magic Anji refuses, but relents when Doya offers to give Anji a picture of herself Anji throws the sandwich, and retrieves it via magic She explains that it is her favorite spell since allows her to be lazy Doya honors the agreement, and takes two pictures of Anji - one for Anji, and one for herself Anji admires her picture for a little too long Anji then leaves, and takes some of the presents that Rin had harvested from the rejected students as she goes

Carmilla is awakened by the sounds of Aurora doing her morning preparations and opening the window Carmilla is annoyed, and asks Aurora why the windows was opened She sees Aurora in surprisingly bright colors, with her hair in a ponytail Carmilla is concerned, and asks Aurora what's happening Aurora doesn't know what's wrong, and asks Carmilla if they're good to hang out later She tells Carmilla to take some medication to calm herself down Carmilla starts to freak out, and goes to Doya's dorm She is greeted by a skinny and weak Greta Doya, whose hair is not messy and whose halo is floating, then approaches Carmilla freaks out She then goes to Rin's room A confident and suave Vladimir opens the door, and tells Rin that Carmilla is there An equally confident yet messy Rin says hello to Carmilla Carmilla freaks out anymore, and goes to find White She goes to his dorm and encounters Urzmaktok, who threatens her but eventually lets her pass She finds White, who is out of sorts and slow to respond to anything Desperate to find anyone sane, Carmilla goes to Zoey's dorm Along the way she encounters Dismay and Violence, who are peppy and wearing bright colors She reaches Zoey's dorm, and is greeted by Larksann who casually swears at Carmilla Carmilla is scandalized Zoey speaks up, and coldly tells Carmilla to leave Carmilla stops, and realizes that everyone is the opposite of who they should be She realizes that she needs to find the worst person imaginable She goes to find Chadriz She finds him, and asks to speak to him alone Chadriz asks if she is okay Carmilla admits that she is not, and is freaking out She asks what she is normally like Chadriz tells her that she's normally more distant, and a cheerleader Carmilla enters a panic She decides to try to speak to her patron As she and Chadriz heads to her dorm, Chadriz pulls her into his dorm Carmilla sees why, as a Drazhomir walks by and beats another students senseless The two resume their journey, but are stopped by Doya Doya asks Carmilla where Carmilla is taking her boyfriend Carmilla insults Doya Doya breaks into tears Chadriz comforts Doya The three gather the rest of our group, and head towards Carmilla's dorm They have to dodge a chicken, and Max tries get them with a prank Carmilla makes a detour at Nicollin and Sunny's room The door is opened by another halfling, who asks why Carmilla wants to speak with the boss Carmilla assures the halfling that she's there for Nicollin, not Sunny Sunny demands tribute for even being tangentially bothered Carmilla offers the silver necklace, and speaks to Nicollin Nicollin is quiet He springs into activity though, and tells Carmilla that he was just sleepy Our group, Chadriz, and Nicollin gather in Carmilla's room Carmilla tries to contact her patron, and fails She asks the rest of the group who they think her patron is They tell her that she's not a warlock, but a cleric of the Tabaxi God Carmilla does her best to hold off a meltdown Doya suggests that she talk to Rika, since Rika is smart After a moment, Carmilla realizes that Rika is the inverse nickname for Anjarika She goes to where Anji's room should be, and finds Mailu and the rest of Missing Peace in prayer Mailu calmly tells Carmilla that Rika is with her two friends Carmilla is nearly hit by a skateboarding Rampart She goes to Angelika's dorm The door is opened by a meek and bespectacled Anjarika Carmilla explains that she needs help, and Rika is the only one that can help her Rika lets her in Carmilla enters to see a lazy Angelique, and a quiet Angelika in the corner Carmilla discusses the possibility of alternate timelines with Doya, Rika, and an annoyed Zoey Carmilla pleads with the group, explaining that everyone is wrong Rika offers to help Carmilla figure out what is wrong

Angelique and Rin scheme on how to get to Carmilla world, since they're smart there Carmilla realizes that an inverted Yasha would be willing to help Rika informs Carmilla that Yasha is a Spring Eladrin Carmilla, along with the rest of our group and the Angels, go to find an elevator They pass by a pathetic and ugly Zanther Carmilla is stopped Quentillius, who insists on helping Carmilla and being called Quentin They pass by Johrel and Vhalshera, who are smoking They are stopped by Nadia, who scolds them for running Dean Kol, who is a deva, rescues them When Carmilla calls him dad, Kol assures her that he is not her guardian but thinks that it would be nice The group find the elevator, and file into it The elevator begins to descend down the Hexpiral Pit Carmilla comments on how nice the Angels are here The elevator reaches the bottom, and after a little bit of walking the group finds themselves at Yasha's office They see Yasha dancing to music, but she stops when she sees the students

She asks the students to sit, and offers to help with whatever problems they are having Carmilla desperately explains the situation Yashs suggests that it is a dream, and that maybe being pinched or slapped would help Angelique happily obliges, but nothing changes Yasha suggests maybe the sensation of falling would help She asks Carmilla to close her eyes, and then tips over Carmilla's chair Carmilla opens her eyes, and sees the inside of her coffin She bolts up, and checks that her birds are there They are, as Carmilla has returned to the waking world! She is pleasantly surprised to a normally goth Aurora Carmilla rapidly explains what happened Aurora suggests that Carmilla calm down and take a shower Carmilla goes to check if Rin is normal She finds him, and Rin is back to his usual self Carmilla hugs Rin Rin notices peanut butter on the back of her head Carmilla leaves to go check on the other members of our group

Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos AD Emi Tanji

First session of Strixhaven done!!

It went so well, I have some trouble believing this! My players had an absolute blast and so did I. I was very nervous as we all had some very high expectations for this campaign but so far, everything is going just amazingly!

SUMMARY (slight Strixhaven Spoilers):

Our protagonists have arrived to Strixhaven University, more than excited to start the new school year! They donned their new uniform, purchased their books at the exception of Grace who could not afford it. In quest for the money necessary to buy them, the four heroes, next to their sidekick Allen Fallburry, participate in the scavenger hunt, Grace showing some remarkable and unexpected deduction skills (as well as her melee weapon skills when she attacked a bush in the book garden), Winston almost fell to his death multiple times (caught once by Grace and yeeted the next BY Grace), Baek arrived late and her muteness caused some funny shenanigans and finally Antares recited a wonderful monologue from the play "Rhapsody on a Hat", impressing a couple of the Drama Guild members. The group met more and more different students through their hunt such as the members of the Live-Action Roleplaying Guild and their overeager Rosie. They defeated an enchanted chest and were rewarded for their effort with a platinum piece they shared between them. A surprise awaited Grace as someone had already paid for her books: a Grayson Wildemere who was extremely flustered to have been found out... Especially when Grace decided to show up at his table at dinner. Meanwhile, Antares somehow started befriending, against all odds, Ronan her plant lover attrociously rude roomate as well as some of the drama club members. Grace has been graced with a terribly stoic roomate and his feathery friend. Baek encountered her friend Al and then got to know Klaus, her roomate, who she immediately requested alchemy lessons from. Finally, Winston met with his best friend Zohla, who introduced him to Zanther Bowen (bisexual poly panik ensues) who just happened to be his roomate as well! What luck! And thus end the first day of school in SKOOL, Scholarly Knight Of (the) Oblivion Lights! What will happen next? Who will they encounter? What shenanigans will they get caught up in? Only next session shall answer to these questions!

Alex Lancer

Alex is a strapping male who previously worked on the S.S. Obsidian as the First Mate to the Captain. He takes pride in his handiwork, having been known for his crafting abilities and strength. Due to having worked as a First Mate, he knows how to socialize and can be quite chatty.

He has tawny coloured skin, paired with dark, spiky chestnut hair, and deep sea green eyes. At 6'2" (or 188cm), he's the tallest member of the Castaways.

Jax Harringston

Jax is a slender male who was onboard the S.S. Obsidian for a vacation. Having taken a break from his day job working in a research laboratory, the last thing he expected was to be stranded on an island. Though he has high intelligence and relatively decent strength, Jax is rather stoic and doesn't speak much besides general grumbling.

He has fair skin, paired with a blonde scissor cut hairstyle and light blue eyes. At 5'10" (or 178cm), Jax is the second tallest member of the Castaways.

Katia Pierce

Katia is female who has a lean but muscular physique. She worked aboard the S.S. Obsidian as the head chef, out of her desire to see the world and learn more about its cuisines. From working and leading others, she has developed her strength and charisma, and is considered to be quite outgoing.

Katia has sepia coloured skin, paired with long wavy mulberry coloured hair, and caramel coloured eyes. At 5'5" (or 165cm), she's the second shortest member of the Castaways.

Nyx Kwon

Nyx is a slender female who, prior to the S.S. Obsidian, worked as a battlefield doctor. Deciding to reduce the amount of danger in her life, she accepted a job to work on the S.S. Obsidian as the sole doctor onboard. From her past military experience, she is more than capable of holding decent conversation with her intelligence and charisma.

Though she has a Korean name, she prefers to be referred to as Nyx, the only exception being her family.

Nyx has pale skin, paired with long straight black hair and bangs, along with very dark brown eyes. At 5'3" (or 160cm), Nyx is the shortest among the Castaways.

Mikhael Lichstein

Mikhael is a lean yet muscular male who's the Tribe Leader of the Khvau. Having been trained to do several types of tasks from a young age, he developed the necessary skills to be a capable leader. Since he was twenty nine, he was set up in an arranged marriage with Narael, god-daughter of Yumel.

He has also been blessed by Irash, the deity of Warmth and Destruction, and has fire-related powers.

He has ivory skin and blue-green eyes, with swept back light blonde hair. At 6'1" (or 185.5cm), he's the tallest of the Khvau.

Narael Hirachi

Narael is a slender lady who's the Advisor of Technology in the Khvau. Since a young age, she was her father's protege, learning how to put together new things with old tech at a rate faster than any other at her age. Since she was twenty five, she was set up in an arranged marriage with Mikhael, the Tribe Leader of the Khvau. She is also Yumel's god-daughter.

She has also been blessed by Irash, the deity of Warmth and Destruction, and has fire-related powers.

Narael has porcelain skin and burnt umber coloured eyes, along with long, wavy brown-nose coloured hair. At 5'6" (or 168cm), she's the shortest of the Khvau.

Rass Patel

Rass is a muscular built man who works as a Chief Harvester for the Khvau. Having been appointed as one of the Chief Healers, he works rather frequently and usually is seen more during night time. He is Mikhael's closest friend, and is always present when official Khvau meetings occur.

He is blessed by Melan, deity of Healing and Grace, and has water-related powers.

Rass has caramel coloured skin, taupe coloured hair frequently tied in a man-bun and golden coloured eyes. At 5'9" (or 175cm), he's the second tallest of the Khvau.

Tarin Lennart

Tarin is a young lady with an hourglass shaped body who works as a Farmer for the Khvau. She picked up how to care for plants and flowers from her mother who left for the Mainlands, and has been making her passion her job. She works together with Rass, and they have a good working relationship. She is distantly related to Narael and used to live together with her before she (Narael) got engaged.

Having been blessed by R'jarr, deity of Strength and Harvest, Tarin is blessed with earth-related powers.

She has light brown skin, paired with shoulder-length dirty blonde hair that is often tied in a short ponytail, and dim grey eyes. At 5'7" (or 170cm), she's the second shortest member of the Khvau.

Caran Lee

Caran is the only member of the Exiled that you can romance.

He has a slender frame, and currently lives alone. He has his own little house of sorts, and enjoys farming his own food. He used to be a member of the Khvau, but due to an incident with the tribe, he was cast out and Exiled.

He has pale skin, paired with shaggy dark brown hair that just covers his ears and forehead and has light brown eyes. At 5′8 (173cm), he’s the second shortest male RO.

Yerra

Honestly, what does anyone know about Yerra? She’s part of the Unknown for a reason. 

She has a lanky frame, and lives alone. She has her own house of sorts, and enjoys hunting to obtain food. She used to be a member of the Khvau, but after an incident with the tribe, she was cast out and became an Unknown.

She has fair skin, paired with long, red hair that reaches to her mid-back and sea-green eyes. At 5′8 (173cm), she’s the tallest female RO.

Zanther

Again, what does anyone know about Zanther? He’s part of the Unknown for a reason.

He has a slim physique, and lives alone. He does have his own house, but prefers to sleep among the treetops for fun. He used to be a member of the Khvau, but after an incident with the tribe, he was cast out and became an Unknown.

He has fair skin, paired with short black hair, in a long French crop hairstyle, and red eyes. At 5′7 (170cm), he’s the shortest male RO.

Feeling a bit sad tonight. So I threw the stats from the six characters I currently have on D&D Beyond into the same document because rambling about my characters, even just to myself, usually cheers me up.

Lucine is a character I will be playing soon! He is a tall and enthusiastic prettyboy with a far too patient husband. He fights with the power of light and flame!!! He is just a guest character in a friend's game, but I'm very excited to play him, even if it's just for a session or whatever.

Hexaline is my character in an ongoing Witchlight game. She is the daughter of hags, and is trying to find her own place in the world...and is trying to find a way to tell her mothers that she doesn't want to go into the family business. She carries a picnic basket full of snacks and potions both!

Nassi is my occasional guest character in a friend's game. I love her a lot. She is based in the feywild, and helps others to find their way home so they don't meet the same tragic end there that many of her party did. She is a battlemaster fighter, which I'm pretty sure is my favourite subclass. So good!!!!

Faine is my character in a homebrew game inspired by the plot of the first season of Avatar: the Legend of Korra. We all play characters seeking to deal with a rebellion of dangerous anti-magic folks. As a bladesinger, Faine has a personal investment in putting an end to their schemes!

Grey is my character in a series of occasional Ravenloft one-shots (Witchlight and Rebellion are on alternating weeks, and if we can't play one of our usual games someone runs a Ravenloft or Strixhaven one-shot instead.) This guy has so thoroughly screwed up his life there's probably no wriggling out of it now, but in his heart he just wants to live a quiet cottage life and give his little sister a chance at a normal young-adulthood.

Frostwarden is my character in aforementioned Strixhaven game. They are a sweet and anxious bean, they just want to impress their crush Zanther and make a nice habitat for their new pet frog, Frogwarden. <3

A woman being walked into a darkened hallway which leads into a brightly lit room, tall and imposing seats high above the ground as if it can reach the heavens, most of the light is falling on the High Courts of ancient men, wrinkles upon wrinkles and old glasses perched precariously on the bridge of their noses. But one man stood out in particular. A middle aged man, a rigid back and beady little eyes, scanning before landing on the woman in the center.

Her heartbeat thrummed and chanted, thundering in her ears, so loud she’s quite certain the men flanking on either side of her, gripping her shackled arms in tight grip, could hear it. She raises her chin and stared at the man in the center, calmly assessing.

She sees him picking up a scroll and proceeds to read out her crimes, crimes of which she tunes out, only refocusing when he reaches the end.

“....As punishment for her crimes, Zanther Alvie shall be executed as of today!” His voice booms and shook the room.

She’s immediately shuffled off to a side door that had recently opened. She appears to be nonchalant but on the inside, she breathes a sigh of relief.
