oh, you're so funny... (zhang yixing x reader)
Tumblr media
pairing: zhang yixing x reader word count: way too short genre: fluffyyyy warnings: - a/n: i pictured this with both chanyeol and yixing, but i miss lay so bad 🥹
your phone buzzed with the notification from your instagram account and you tried not to smile when you saw yixing's user on the screen.
the two of you had a little fight the night before, and the whole day has been pretty nerve wrecking as he didn't reach you out - and, as your pride spoke louder, you didn't reach him neither.
“wow, they're cute. what’s their @?”, the message said, as a reply from the selfie you posted not too long ago on your close friends' stories.
unblocking your phone and clicking on the notification, you decided to play his little game.
“idk, you should search! but i gotta warn you, they have a boyfriend (;”, you replied to him.
the three dots on the screen indicated that yixing was typing already, and for a second you questioned how busy he truly was in the studio with his team.
“ah it’s okay, i ain’t scared!
they're sooo pretty, it’s worth the shot
should i try flirting? 🤔”, yixing kept going.
“go on!
but again, i warn you: their boyfriend is reaaaally jealous.”
“lmao that’s what you say when people try to hit on you, baby?”
and he was back to his normal self, probably chuckling as he stared on his phone; you could basically hear him in the back of your mind.
“nope
nobody tries to hit on me, and even if they did, it wouldn't mean that much
they're not you”
it was your time to chuckle, patiently waiting for yixing's reply.
“you always know what to say...
can we have dinner together tonight? talk a little bit?"
you quickly nodded, as if yixing could see you.
"of course we can
are you gonna come over?", you sent.
"i’m already on my way, baby
be there in 20 😘❤️”

“You light up the rooms you step in”
You were sitting on the sidewalk in front of the club you had just left. An half empty bottle of Soju standing a few inches away from your left leg as you were staring at an undefined point in front of you. You shivered:the short skirt and the fishnet thighs weren’t enough to protect you from the cold of the night, but you had no strength to get back inside the club. You didn’t want to see him again.
Your night was amazing until he appeared.
You were drinking, dancing and singing with your friends, having fun in trying to convince Lisa to hit on the cute guy she had put her eyes on at the beginning of the party. Everything was great, you didn’t have such an amazing time in a while until him, your ex-boyfriend,was so bold to talk to you as soon as he noticed you.
He appeared and grabbed you from behind, hitting on you like he had never cheated with a chick with fake lips and fake boobs. You felt like throwing up and, then, your night was ruined with a snap of fingers.
Mad,you slapped him and ran outside, without even seeing Sehun and Jongdae scolding him. You didn’t know what to do,you felt lost.
Suddenly, all that pain you had felt while breaking up rose inside you once again, with no mercy, ready to make your heart bleed for love.
Fuck him, fuck her and, most of all, fuck yourself for being so dumb to date a walking red flag when everyone had warned you.
You sighed, stroking your legs with your hands in hope to warm your skin;when, suddenly, someone covered you with their black jacket.
You turned around sure to see that asshole, but the only person that was there was Yixing,Baekhyun’s friend, who had started hanging out with your group a few months earlier.
“Take it” he said kindly, sitting next to you
“Thank you-you grabbed the bottle of Soju-you want some?” you asked
Yixing sipped from the object and then gave it back to you, watching as you threw the burning liquid down to your throat
“Slow down” he laughed, trying to stop you,but you pushed his hand away
“I need this. My night has been ruined” you mumbled
“I didn’t really understand why,to be honest”
“You saw the guy that approached me? That was my ex”
“Now I get it. That’s why Sehun and Jongdae snapped at him”
“Did they?”
“Yes. They were mad. Junmyeon and Minseok had to hold them back-Yixing giggled-you’re so lucky to have them. They’re great friends”
“I know. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them. When I broke up with Sunghoon everything was pitch black. They were my light”
“Did he hurt you that much?” Yixing’s soft smile disappeared as soon as you talked
“He cheated on me for six months. In a relationship of one year, half of it was a lie. I think he’s the person who hurt me the most.I pushed all my fears aside for him and gave him my heart only to find out that he stopped caring about me before I could even notice” you sighed, drinking more Soju. You were having an hard time holding back your tears.
Yixing noticed and slid closer to comfort you, caressing your back
“I hope you know that wasn’t your fault” he then said, softly
“I know now,but back then I didn’t. I felt like I deserved nothing. If I’ve changed my mind is thanks to my friends:they sticked with me,supported me and helped me seeing myself in the way I had to. However,Sunghun still haunts me sometimes. I was so happy with him,I thought he was the one”
“There are many potential ones out there, don’t focus on an idiot. I’m saying that because I got cheated on as well,so I know how it feels”
“Really?! What a bitch. You’re such a nice guy,you don’t deserve a similar a treatment!”
“Neither you do,but it happened. The most important thing is that we both know that it’s none of our fault, but theirs”
“You’re absolutely right Yixing” you smiled.
You didn’t expect that such a short chat could lead the two of you to a beautiful friendship:you slowly started opening up with Yixing, exchanging messages all day and talking about everything;even Sunghoon who, suddenly, started looking for you again.
It disturbed you a lot. You had healed in the past months, but not enough to face him again. The truth was that you had been hoping to never see him after breaking up. You wanted to re-start building your life;so,seeing his lost calls and texts unsettled you a lot, pushing you closer and closer to Yixing as he seemed the one who could fully understand the situation.
“Why don’t you block him?” the boy asked, sitting in front of you as he sipped his coffee
“I can’t” you mumbled, resting your chin on the palm of your hand
“Why? You said you don’t wanna have anything to do with him”
“Which is true…”
“But?”
“No buts” you sighed,Yixing giggled
“May I tell you what I think,y/n?”
At those words you nodded
“I think that you’re still in love with that asshole”
“I’m not!”
“Then block him” your friend rested his back against the chair
“No…”
“Seen it? That’s my point”
You rolled your eyes and scratched the back of your head:maybe Yixing was right;maybe, deep down, you were still a little bit in love with Sunghoon, but it didn’t imply giving him a second chance, that was another reason why you ran away when you saw him at the club.
“What am I supposed to do Yixing? Please help me,I’m so tired. I was feeling better,so why did he have to come back?” you hid your face with your hands, holding back your tears.
Why was your life so hard? Why couldn’t you be living happily for once? You constantly had to face troubles and problems without even looking for them. You had enough.
“You already know what to do,y/n:stay with your friends, enjoy the good things of your day and focus on yourself until you’ll meet someone who values you for the amazing person that you are” the boy smiled and hugged you. Your face sank in the crook of his neck, your nostrils got filled with his sweet cologne. Your stomach tingled for a second at that nice sensation, but you were so lost in your thoughts that you didn’t even notice it.
“Don’t tell our friends he’s texting me again. You saw how they got mad,I don’t want any drama to happen”
“My mouth is shut, key thrown to the sharks-he giggled-but you gotta block him. Promise me you’ll do it”
“I will”
“Then let’s have fun together so you can forget Sunghoon”
Said so,Yixing started organising regular evenings out with the whole group:you would eat together,go clubbing, try fun activities like climbing and even organise movie nights.
Besides that, when your friends were busy with their jobs and couldn’t join you,Yixing would always find some free time to spend with you, even if it meant only having a coffee together.
That was why you grew fond of him, developing a soft spot in your heart that made you consider Yixing your best friend. The same happened to him. He had to admit that, even tho he had a lot of friends,no one made him feel as good as you did:you were his ray of sunshine, the person he would look for when he needed positive vibes, that someone who would listen to him and support him through the hardest moments, making the clouds vanish.
The more time flew, the more you two became close. You met everyday, letting your inner children come out and fully heal in each other presence.
“Let’s do this!” you grabbed Yixing, dragging him towards the shooting game of the arcade you had decided to visit that night.
“Killing zombies sounds fun!-he laughed, grabbing the VR headset-let me help you with this” he then smiled, tucking the lace at the back of your head.
His fingers accidentally stroked against your cheeks while he was placing the object on your eyes:it sent shivers along your spine. Yixing’s touch was always so gentle and delicate,it made you feel safe and well treated. A little smile unconsciously appeared on your lips.
“Why are you smiling now?” your friend asked
“What? Oh,nothing,I’m just having fun”
“The game hasn’t started yet” Yixing laughed, grabbing his VR
“I know but I’m having a great time tonight. It’s been a while since I came here at the arcade. I missed it,this was my favourite place when I was younger”
“Then we’ll come back soon”
Those words widened your smile even more;then, once the zombie game had finished, you moved to the next one:the Pump it up game. You were surprised it was still there.
“This one! I wanna dance,it’s always been my favourite”
“Let’s go then,I’ll beat your ass!” Yixing exclaimed, placing himself on the platform.
The two of you chose the song,a Michael Jackson one to make things harder but funnier, and started dancing…if that was how you could call what you two were up to.
To be honest, all you did was pushing each other to make the other hit a lower score:
“Are you that scared to lose?! Really?!” Yixing taunted you, blocking your hands with his:you melted noticing how his touch was, once again, extremely careful with you. He treated you like you were a precious jewel, which warmed your heart.
“You are scared to lose!” you bit back, laughing, and trying to push him away
“I’m a dancer,there’s no way I’ll lose!”
“I’m better than you in this game,I’m sure!”
“Oh,yeah,I see! That’s why you’re sabotaging me right now”
“That’s not true!” you kept on laughing and pushing, until,by accident, you slipped and lost your balance.
“Ouch!” you exclaimed, falling, but, luckily, your body never touched the ground as Yixing laid in and held you tight.
“You okay?” he demanded,concerned
“I’m-I’m fine” you blushed:his arms were wrapped around your waist while your chest was against his. You could feel both his heartbeat and his warm breath on your skin.
You bit your lips:what was happening? Why,all of a sudden, you were feeling so odd? Something that you couldn’t tell was going on inside you while being so close to him. Your stomach twitched and sparkled while your legs were shaking. You didn’t want to lean back and stand on your own feet, you wanted Yixing to be that close forever.
“So…that’s the reason why you stopped answering to my texts, isn’t it?” A familiar voice made you startle and push the brunette away.
“What are you doing here?!” You asked, shocked as Sunghoon was standing right in front of you. Right hand in his pocket, soft black hair framing his beautiful features. You felt like the ground beneath your feet was missing.
“Texts? What is he talking about?” Yixing furrowed his eyebrows
“I can explain!” you exclaimed, grabbing his arm. Sunghoon laughed:
“Yeah, explain everything to your boyfriend. Come on,I wanna listen”
“He’s not my boyfriend, asshole! And tell me why you’re here! Are you stalking me now? Wasn’t text bombing and calling me everyday enough?!” you growled
“You answered so I just texted. I don’t seen anything wrong with it” Sunghoon shrugged his shoulder. His cocky attitude was getting on your nerves.
“Why did you answer him? You said you would’ve blocked him” Yixing’s face was marked by an expression of disappointment
“I should have,I know, but I didn’t;however I told him to stop texting and calling,I did it multiple times. I swear Yixing”
“If you didn’t want to text me you would’ve blocked me like the dude said”
“Shut the fuck up Sunghoon!”
“Yeah, you heard her:shut the fuck up” Yixing stepped closer to the boy,who obviously didn’t back up
“Who are you to tell me what to do?”
“Yixing, please,no drama” you ran towards him, holding him back. The boy’s attitude softened as soon as you touched him;so he breathed in and recomposed himself.
“How did you find me?” you asked again to your ex
“I saw the story you posted. I was around so I thought I could come say hi” he smirked
“You’re fucked up” you mumbled,shocked
“You said hi,now go home” Yixing butted in the conversation, wrapping one of his arms around your shoulder. You scanned his movements, realising that there was a new shift in his attitude:he clearly had something in his mind so you just let him talk.
“Or what?” Sunghoon threatened the guy
“Or you’ll get kicked out. Let my girlfriend alone as she told you to do. I don’t repeat myself.”
“Girlfriend? For fuck sake is he your boyfriend or not?”
You were about to talk but Yixing gently hit your shoulder, meaning to let him handle the situation,so you did.
“I am,and you’re ruining our nice date” he spat out.
Sunghoon glared at him, then his eyes met yours:
“Is he lying?” he demanded, leaning in
You were sweating:you knew that the best thing to do to get our from that awful situation was following Yixing’s lead, but you were so scared of Sunghoon that words wouldn’t come out from your mouth.
“Step back” your friend put his arm between you and the guy whose eyes shifted again, leaning on Yixing
“You aren’t his boyfriend, are you? You’re just trying to get rid of me”
Yixing’s jaw clenched:he was getting extremely mad,you could tell from the veins of his neck popping out. It was sexy for sure, but it was also scary.
“I’ll show you then” the brunette spat out, turning to you.
Suddenly, you found your face a few inches away from you friend’s. His eyes chained to yours as his fingers stroked your cheek, resting on your chin. Your heart started beating fast, shivers crossed your spine, then the space between you and Yixing was set to zero.
When you lips met, the world stopped spinning. Everything froze, the only thing you could feel was Yixing’s sweet taste of mint bubblegum. He kissed you slowly, delicately. The arm wrapped around your shoulder tightened his grip a little bit as he used it to push you closer, while, with one of his hands,he tilted your head on the side. His lips moved back and forward, sweetly biting yours, mixing your salivas.
Your hands rested on his chest, gripping the cloth of his jacket, while your lower abdomen started tingling as you pushed it against the boy’s. You had completely lost control of your body, but you liked it:it had been a while since you felt like that.
You were completely lost in the moment, same was Yixing who would’ve never let you go if Sunghoon didn’t remind him of his presence with a loud cough.
“I’m his boyfriend and you gotta get out of here…now!” the brunette exclaimed, hiding his short breath.
Sunghoon glared at him, fire burning in his eyes:
“You’ll see me around, asshole” he growled
“I hope not for your safety. I’m not always this gentle with dickheads like you”
You watched as your ex left from the entrance door, feeling relieved.
“God” you mumbled while hiding your face in your hands
“He’s gone” Yixing dragged you into a new hug that you couldn’t reject,in fact you let yourself sink into it.
“Thankfully. I-I thought we needed to call the cops for a second” your voice was breaking as holding back your tears was hard
“It’s okay y/n,I’ve got you-Yixing said stroking your back-shall we go home?” he then asked, you nodded.
The next day you blocked Sunghoon everywhere, hoping that finally you would’ve lived a quite life…but nothing like that was about to happen.
There was one more thing that couldn’t let you sleep at night:Yixing’s kiss. It had been magical, you couldn’t deny it…and you couldn’t deny that the boy was as lost into it as you were.
“Fuck” you blushed, covering your face with the sheets of your bed. Why were you feeling like that? Like a little, vulnerable kid? You were so confused and,at the same time,so eager to meet Yixing again.
You wanted to see his smile, feel his fingers linger on your skin, giving you those little pleasing shivers and lighting up the sparkles in your stomach.
Wait…were you in love with Yixing? That Yixing, your best friend?!
“It can’t be possible!-you exclaimed,sitting-it can’t be!” you sighed.
Right in that moment, your phone rang and,as if it wasn’t enough, the one calling was the person you had been thinking about.
“Hi” you spoke calmly. You couldn’t let him know what was going in on in your mind.
“Wanna have breakfast together?” Yixing asked
“I’d love that,I’ll get ready. Where are we meeting?”
“At your place. I’ll pick you up. See you in a bit” the brunette didn’t even give you the chance to talk as he turned the call off.
Fastly, you got ready and then jumped in your friend’s car once he had arrived. You had breakfast in a nice café in Hongdae;the streets were already flowing with people even tho it was only 8:00am.
“How are you doing today?” Yixing asked while biting his croissant
“I’m doing better, thank your for asking” you smiled
“I’m great to hear that. I’ve been pretty worried. I don’t want you to suffer again for that idiot”
“I’m doing fine, really. I just got scared yesterday,I told you,but luckily you were there” without even thinking about it,you were looking for his hand to hold.
Yixing blushed as soon as your hands touched, but he didn’t try to shrug yours off, otherwise he held it back
“You mean the world to me. No one will make you suffer, not as long as I am around”
His eyes were chained to yours,a sweet light shining in their pupils:you didn’t know in which way he meant those words, but they made you skip a beat.
“T-Thank you…” you murmured, lowering your gaze. You wanted to giggle and kick your feet like a teenager girl, but you couldn’t.
Yixing smiled and tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear:he was looking at you with those puppy eyes that made you melt.
“Anyway-he coughed, recomposing himself-do you wanna go to the cinema tonight?”
“Tonight?” you blinked
“Yeah. I mean…hum…there’s a nice movie”
“What is it?”
“I-I don’t remember the title right now,but you can find it out by coming along”
You laughed:was there a real movie to watch or he just wanted to see you again? You didn’t care. You nodded and accepted the invitation, spending the whole day thinking about it.
As soon as you got back from work you ran to your bedroom, picking out the nicest dress you had in your wardrobe;then you moved on to your makeup, putting mascara and eye-liner on. The last time you worried so much about your appearance it was during one of the first dates with Sunghoon. That fact made you think even more:were you actually in love with Zhang Yixing? Damn if you were. You had lost it for that guy,for his eyes, his smile and, most of all,the way he treated you. You felt like a princess anytime he was around:he cared about you, paid attention to your well being and did everything he could for you to have a good time.
“Yixing, what did you do to me!” you sighed, hearing your door bell ringing:it was him for sure.
You ran downstairs and met the boy,who drove you to the cinema. You weren’t sure if Yixing actually chose the movie you saw or if he randomly picked one up just to cover his nice little lie,but you didn’t care anyway as you were too busy laughing with him and leaning onto him anytime he whispered something to your hear. You didn’t do it on purpose, your body was naturally attracted to the boy…and so was your mind.
Once the movie had finished the two of you went for a night walk,no one wanted to go home.
It was past midnight of a cold Saturday night. You were wrapped up in your coat, but apparently it wasn’t enough for you to stay warm
“I hate winter” you mumbled, sliding your hand in the pockets
“You’re always so cold-Yixing giggled, wrapping an arm around your shoulder to hold you close-better?” he demanded
“Better” you laughed.
The silence fell for a few seconds:you could see the boy staring at you under the dim light of the moon,a little smile on his lips
“Why are you smiling?” you demanded
“Am I?”
“Yeah” you nodded
“I think it’s your presence. You light up the rooms you step in”
“Oh come on,that’s too much” you laughed
“That’s not. I really believe it. No one is like you,and I must be favoured to know you”
At those words your cheeks heated up:thank God it was dark so he couldn’t see how you turned into a fresh tomato
“I could say the same of you. I’ve never been so happy before meeting you”
Without even noticing, the two of you had stopped walking and were standing face to face
“I can make you happy everyday if you let me”
“W-what?” those words caught you off guard
“You heard. Why would I keep on staying silent? I think it’s clear, isn’t it?”
“W-what do you mean?”
Was he getting there? Was he about to say what you had in mind? Oh God,make it happen—you thought
“Don’t pretend you haven’t noticed it,I know you did. I never really tried to hide it,maybe at the beginning, but not in the past weeks-Yixing paused for a moment-I love you y/n. I don’t know how it happened:maybe it was because we shared the same experiences,or maybe because I found someone that listened to me and understood me,or maybe it’s just you and the way you are…cuz you’re beautiful y/n,both inside and out. You’re the ray of sunshine I’ve been looking for during the past years and I wanna keep it with me for as long as it wants to stay…so,y/n,would you like to warm me for a while? Maybe forever if we’re meant to be?” Yixing grabbed your cold hands, holding them and dragging you closer. Your noses were a few inches away from each other. Once again, you could feel his warm breath against your skin
“I do,Yixing:I would love to be your ray of sunshine” you smiled
At those words Yixing’s hands cupped your cheeks and his lips met yours:once again sparkles lit up in your stomach and you lower back tingled.
Maybe it was finally time:maybe you had found the person that would’ve given you the unconditional love you deserved.

Might Alpha 2

The backlash that came when Baekhyun and Chanyeol denounced their marriage was something that no one expected. They knew their parents would be upset, but the sheer mortification that came from knowing Baekhyun had been with another alpha and never actually slept with Chanyeol was so confusing. The fact that the male was Baekhyun’s destined mate didn't seem to matter to anyone.
While the elders had stayed silent, the parents argued back and forth on how they could rectify the situation, without bothering to listen to the children whose lives they were purposefully trying to ruin for the simple fact that Baekhyun was a gifted male omega with the ability to bear pups. They didn't care that they were trying to break not one, but two bonds. Bonds from the same family.
It confused Soohee, because she remembered very clearly that Chanyeol had said the whole union between Baekhyun and himself was because they trusted Chanyeol and it was a great way for her father to get a foot into the counsel and influence decisions and laws however he saw fit.  Chanyeol was going to be the next elder and possibly the next head alpha if he could pass the tests that would challenge his strength, his logic, and his wit. And while she worried about her brother being hurt, she believed the man he was with would never hurt him since they were destined mates. And if her father still wanted that in, if he would just listen to Chanyeol, he would know that they were destined mates.
Soohee had never told her parents or anyone else what happened that night after her party, nor the weekend and the two days after that she was in heat. They were mates, she knew that and still had trouble processing it, but it was a fact she was more than ready to admit. Yet they hadn't mated during her heat, both agreeing that they wanted to wait. Even if they used protection, there wasn't a guarantee it would work or if they would constantly remember the amount of times they would have to have sex. So Chanyeol did his best to pleasure her and help her through her heat and she was so thankful for it. But they still haven't told anyone. Or rather, they were trying, but no one was actually listening to them.
“Well since your son has been defiled, we will find a new mate for Chanyeol. A better and loyal omega!” Mr. Park grunted out.
“What?” Chanyeol asked in shock.
“Excuse me? My son is very much loyal!”
“Lies. He's been defiled by that Chinese vagrant!” Mr. Park growled. “You and your family are so immoral, Mr. Byun, that I'm surprised you're all even allowed to continue to live in this pack. And if your son acts like this, I can't even begin to imagine how your daughter must be, whoring about and asking for any male to fuck her.”
“That’s enough! You are so vile and disgusting, speaking of a child like that!” Mr. Byun shouted.
“Child?! Child?! She's of age now isn't She? But has that ever stopped her? You don't think we don't hear rumors?”
“What? Soohee, what is talking about?” Mr. Byun asked, furious by all the words being thrown around.
“I don't know.” Soohee said. “I don't know of rumors. Dad, it's a lie.” She said.
“Adults don't lie.” Mr. Park snapped at her and she shrunk back. Lies from an adult. She had no idea where he would ever get such information about her. She had never done anything to try and get guys. She had only ever wanted Chanyeol. And even her closest friends knew that.
“If she says there are none, then there aren't.” Mr. Byun growled. “My daughter is perfect! Maybe it’s your son that is the issue!” He fired back. Another round of shouting began and Soohee had heard enough. She slipped out of her chair and did her best to sneak out of the meeting hall. She thought she was very successful and made it outside with a sigh.
“For the love of god. Adults are crazy. I don't want to be an adult.” She whined softly.
“Tell me about it.”
Soohee jumped and looked over at her brother as he came to sit next to her. “Oppa.” She said gently. “Are you okay? Dad and Mr. Park are blowing everything out of proportion.” She said.
“I know.” Baekhyun sighed softly and closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead gently. “Like, why are they like this? The elders always preach about destined mates and not interfering and here they are staying quiet while our parents fight to ruin our lives.”
Soohee stared at him and sighed softly. She reached over and rubbed his back gently and smiled softly. “It'll be okay.” She said softly. “You have your mate. You should go and run off with him. They can't stop you.”
“And leave you?” Baekhyun asked softly. “Disappoint our family? I couldn't.” He said as he looked at her.
“So you'd rather risk your bond with your mate?” Soohee asked and cocked her head. “Oppa, you're not a disappointment. And I'll be fine.”
“Because you have your mate now.” Baekhyun said and smiled weakly at her.
“I….what?”
“Don't play dumb.” Baekhyun laughed softly. “I knew the moment I introduced you to Chanyeol that you two were mates.” He said.
“How?”
“Blue eyes are the sign that an alpha has found their mate and imprinted on them. I saw them that day. I knew and I made him promise me he would never try anything with you until you were old enough.” He said. “I had no idea that this stupid union would be done either.” He said and ran a hand through his hair some before groaning. “I don't know what to do Soohee.”
Soohee frowned as she stared at her brother and was gonna answer when another person joined them.
“Let's go and start our own pack.” Their heads whipped around quickly and stared at Chanyeol in shock. “what?”
“What do you mean what? How can we start our own pack?” Soohee asked, confused. “That's a big task.”
“Yeah and where would we go?” Baekhyun asked and Chanyeol just shrugged.
“Does it matter? We’ll just go somewhere. The four of us establish our own pack. We'll gather packless shifters and shifters wanting a new pack and just start over fresh.” He said.
“Do you...do you think we can do it?” Baekhyun asked.
“Well with Yixing as another alpha, I'm sure we can manage and grow slowly. It might be hard at first. But won't it be worth it?” Chanyeol asked. “They obviously don't care about our wants and needs. Our destinies. So we need to take our lives into our own hands.” He said. His eyes moved from Baekhyun to Soohee and he smiled. He took her hand and held it gently in his, squeezing it gently.
“Chanyeol.” Soohee whispered softly and smiled.
“It'll be worth it.” Baekhyun agreed and smiled softly at them. “Come on. Let's go.” He said and stood. Soohee looked back at her brother and nodded. She stood, pulling at Chanyeol’s hand and making him stand. “I'll meet you two at Yixing’s. Don't take too long, okay?” He said.
They nodded and with quick goodbyes, they parted ways, with Soohee going with Chanyeol because she just needed to be with him. “Are you sure this is a good idea?” Soohee asked as she walked towards Chanyeol’s jeep.
“No. But we have to do what we have to do.” Chanyeol said as he unlocked the doors and climbed into the driver's seat. Soohee sighed and got into the jeep, closing the door before turning to face him.
“Chanyeol, I'm being serious. I'm still a kid. I'm fresh out of high school, just turned 18 and you want to move to some unknown place and start a pack there. It sounds crazy.” She said, “Are you sure this is something you really want?” Her question was directed towards their current decision but there was an undertone of uncertainty about their relationship. Was she really what he wanted?
Chanyeol sighed softly as he slipped the key into the ignition before turning to face her. “Soohee.” He said gently. He scooted over to her and reached out, his fingers stroking her cheeks gently. “I want to be with you, and only you. And if that means we have to go into the future blind, then I will do it. I love you.” He told her and leaned in, pressing their foreheads together gently. “I've loved you for so long and I've waited for so long. Now I have you, I don't ever want to let you go. Please. Stay with me.”
Soohee stared up into his eyes and felt her heart race at how beautiful and gorgeous they were. And probably because of his words, but mostly due to his eyes. “Of course I'll stay with you.” She said gently. “Why wouldn't I when I have been pinning after Mr. Handsome for so long.” She said with a giggle. Chanyeol smiled softly and leaned forward and kissed her softly. It was soft and quick, but she loved it all the same.
“Then let's go. And we'll start a new life together and be happy together.” Chanyeol said gently with a smile. Soohee nodded and smiled softly as they pulled back and Chanyeol started the jeep.
“Everything will be okay, right?” she asked.
“Of course. Trust me.”
~*~
“Dad, no! Stop it! Let me go!” Soohee shouted as she struggled in the grips of a few of the male wolves her father had dragged with him. She wasn't sure how they knew their plans or how to find them, but they did. It was probably just their keen sense of smell. That was the only possible reason she could think of, of how they found them this far out of the city.
“I would expect this kind of thing from Baekhyun, but you? Why Soohee? Why are you going to associate yourselves with these rebels?” Mr. Byun asked as he motioned to her brother. His mate and Chanyeol, all of whom were being detained as well. Though it was taking more people to hold Chanyeol back as he was being scolded so loudly by his father. She could hear every nasty word he was calling her and her brother and she just couldn't take anymore. “Soohee! Answer me!”
“He's my mate!” the words fell from her lips before she could even stop to fully process her train of thought. The announcement seemed to draw the attention of everyone as they all went silent.
“Excuse me?” Mr. Park asked, eyes wide.
“Chanyeol is my mate.” She said softly and jerked herself from the slacking grips of the men. “He is mine, and Baekhyun has found his and the rest of you are acting like spoiled little children!”
“Soohee!”
“No dad! It's true. You all are supposed to be adults, filled with wisdom that's supposed to help guide your children as they become adults and start their own family. And here you both are, two families that don't give a shit about their own children and are just obsessed with whatever power they can have!” She sneered, disgusted.
“Byun, put a stop to her before I do.” Mr. Park warned, but was greeted with a very angry growled and rough shove as Chanyeol tore himself from the four men holding him back. Their strength together was nowhere near a match for Chanyeol’s strength when he really used it, like he had in this case.
“You won't touch her.” Chanyeol growled out as he moved to Soohee and pulled her close to him, his arm wrapped tightly around her waist to protect her. “And she's right. Ever since it was announced what my future status would be, all you or anyone else has ever cared about was that. You held me so high up on a pedestal, out of the reach for anyone you deemed unworthy. You never stopped to ask what I wanted or if I've found my mate. Well, dad, I have. And it's not Baekhyun. It was never Baekhyun and it would be selfish and wrong of me to try and keep him from his own mate.”
“Chanyeol.” Mr. Park floundered for words to speak, but he couldn't even form a decent, coherent sentence.
“We know who we love, who we are meant to be with, and what we're doing is the only way we can be with them. So either you accept this reality or step aside and let us leave.” Everyone was silent for a long while, staring at the two before looking at the two fathers.
“Soohee...there was an agreement…”
“And it can still be upheld. Just not with Baekhyun, but me instead. You can still have whatever it is you want. And the rest of us can be happy. The last thing I've ever wanted to do is leave you and mom but I can't live without him. I don't want to feel our bond break. It'll kill me.” she said softly.
“Don't be so dramatic, it won't kill you if…” Mr. Park started but paused. “You haven't marked her, have you?”
Chanyeol stared at his father intently before moving his hand and lifting her shirt slightly to show the mark he had left on her side. “Three weeks ago, when she went into heat,” he said proudly. “She is mine. Forever.” he announced and pulled her closer as he leaned down slightly to nuzzle her head.
“Dad please.” Baekhyun whispered. “Just let us be happy.”
Mr. Byun looked between his two children and sighed heavily. “We can't fight it now. A bond has been made, I assume for both of them. The elders wouldn’t take too kindly if we destroyed them for selfish reasons.” he sighed. “And it would hurt me to hurt my children, I should have realized that from the beginning.” he said and walked over to Baekhyun as he was finally released. “Are you sure?”
“Yes.” Baekhyun said and smiled. “There is no denying, he is the one.” he said and looked over at Yixing. Mr. Byun sighed, nodded and looked over, waving his hand in signal for Yixing to be released. The silent alpha moved to Baekhyun and hugged him tightly, nuzzling against his neck.
“I suppose I have two unions to prepare for now.” Mr. Byun smiled. “Let's get you all home before your mothers have a fit.”
“Oh...yeah.” Mr. Park cleared his throat. “Chanyeol, I'll need you to-”
“Yeah dad. Don't worry. I'll call her down.” Chanyeol laughed. It was funny to see such a composed man cower in fear at the mention of his angry wife.
~*~
Soohee smiled as she flopped back on her bed, a laugh leaving her as Chanyeol stumbled out of his pants, hopping around to try and kick off the offending garments before finally flinging it across her room. It hit her closed door and he winced before climbing into her bed. “Are you new to taking off pants?” she asked teasingly.
“Oh shut up.” Chanyeol chuckled as he laid down next to her and stared at her face. “It's not my fault you have me tripping over my feet.” he teased and chuckled as she blushed. “You're so cute. You know that?” he asked as he reached out and stroked her head and cheek lightly.
“I can't help but to know it. You tell me all the time.” she said gently as she leaned into the touch. Sighing softly, she leaned in and kissed him, her lips brushing teasingly over his lips every time he dipped in to try and deepen the kiss. A soft giggle left her, followed by Chanyeol’s own growl as he nipped at her bottom lip as Soohee pulled completely back.
“You are such a tease.” Chanyeol groaned and pouted as he stared at her smiling face. “Soohee.” he whined out and Soohee giggled at it. She reached up and poked his nose lightly.
“What?” she asked with a smirk.
“I want a kiss.”
“You just had a kiss.”
“I want another.” he said as he slipped his arm around her waist and pulled her close to him.
“Don't be greedy.” she teased and Chanyeol huffed. “Oh, aren't you so cute?” she said and pinched his cheek lightly.
Chanyeol stared at her with narrowed eyes and huffed again before he leaned in and captured her lips in a deep and passionate kiss. Soohee giggled slightly into the kiss before melting into it, pressing herself against him tightly. Everything just felt so right. She finally had the man of her dreams, she could openly be with him and start working on their future together and that excited her. Her future was with Chanyeol and hopefully with some children as well.

(Prev//Next)
Prompt: You’re the most important thing to EXO, you’ve been with them for years, and when you wind up missing, it greatly upsets them. Their journey to find you and bring you home starts a chain of events that leads to facing their own greatest fears, making unlikely allies, traveling to other worlds again and finally gathering the strength to take down their greatest enemy. Along the way you get to see their true colors and fall in love all over again, although you might come to realize you don’t like what you see in the mirror.

“Destiny? What do you mean?”
“This is a safe haven.” Suho explained. “I’ll show you, but you all have to be calm.”
“You’re not exactly making me feel any better here.” Taeyong commented.
“Just follow me.”
Others were hesitant to follow, but they did so. Lay took your hand and led you along with the group. You looked around, realizing this was some kind of ship, and that brought up so many more questions. At least now it made sense what Suho had said earlier, the ship’s name was Destiny. You came to some steps, although Suho told everyone to give him a moment and went up.
“Captain!”
From below you heard some happy cheers, followed by running. Soon enough you saw someone with Suho and then they noticed you.
“Wow… that’s a lot of stowaways.”
“It’s a long story, but the new faces won’t be staying. They just needed a safe place to stop, hope you don’t mind.”
“Not at all. You wouldn’t bring enemies on my ship. Welcome aboard everyone.”
You went up onto the main deck, taking in your surroundings again and being amazed. You weren’t out on the ocean where you would find such a ship, but sailing through the sky. You ran over to the edge to look overboard.
“This is amazing.”
“Careful now, don’t want to lose anyone.”
Xiumin came over and pulled you back, reminding you to behave yourself. You apologized and promised to stay close. You were brought over back to the crowd and over to the gentleman you had seen talking with Suho before.
“We should probably introduce you. Y/n, this is the captain of the ship.”
“It’s nice to meet you.”
“The pleasure is all mine.” The gentleman bowed. “I’m Hongjoong, captain of the Ateez crew, and this is our lovely ship Destiny.”
“It’s wonderful.”
You got to meet the rest of the crew as well and struck up a conversation as the leaders stepped away to talk among themselves.
“I’m Taeyong, leader of NCT. Thanks for allowing us to remain on your ship.”
“A friend of Suho’s is a friend of mine.”
“I want to ask though… how did you meet Suho?”
“He helped us long ago to save our world, and thanks to them we now roam free, always ready to help others. Destiny is our safe place, and for you as well. You’re always welcomed on my ship.”
“Thank you for your hospitality. I hope we cross paths again under better circumstances.”
“I’m sure we will.”
“Do you think you and your people are good to travel?” Suho asked. “Or do you need to rest. I’m sure-”
“No, no, we’re alright.” Taeyong assured. “We should return home and fully rest.”
“Okay then.”
You all gathered to see the Neos off, and you hoped to see them again some time in the future. With the third party gone there was a shift in the atmosphere.
“So what really brought you by?” Hongjoong asked. “You are not one to show up unannounced.”
“I’m here to collect on the favor we’ve asked of you.”
“Ah, I see.”
“Wait.” You asked. “What favor?”
You didn’t answer, but a look was exchanged between Hongjoong and Wooyoung. The other boy went off to the captain’s quarters and returned with an hourglass moments later.
“What is that? It looks so cool.”
“It’s called the Cromer.” Wooyoung explained, handing it over to you. “We don’t use it as much anymore, but it serves another purpose now.”
“What do you mean?”
“You’ll see.”
You only pondered on that for a moment before the Cromer floated up into the air and away from you. DO had stepped away from the group, and the Cromer flew over to him. In the blink of an eye the hourglass had shattered, but all the pieces remained in the air. All the glass was separated and you could tell DO was focused on it. One moment there was glass and then it turned to sand. You had no idea what was going on, let alone as Kai stepped forward and allowed the sand to pour down onto his hand.
“What are you doing…” You mumbled.
“Remembering something long forgotten.”
“Why are you going there?” Hongjoong asked.
“We can’t keep running.” Suho stated. “We have to face our enemies head on.”
“What does that mean?” You questioned.
“You’ll find out soon enough.” Chen assured. “Promise.”
“Kai?” Suho said.
“I got it.”
You didn’t know what that meant, but you watched as DO put the Cromer back together as if nothing had ever happened. It returned to your hands and you looked it over in awe.
“You could stay a while.” Hongjoong suggested. “Get some rest and prepare.”
“Can’t keep pushing things off.” Lay said. “But thank you.”
“If you guys need any help, you know where to find us.”
It was sad to be saying goodbye to new friends so soon, but you went wherever EXO went without hesitation. You hoped to see them again and get to know them more when the time comes. You gave the Cromer back to Yeosang, and they all wished you well. Sehun and Chanyeol took your hands, and you all said one last goodbye before you closed your eyes, ready for the next adventure. The quiet and calm of the open sky faded into the sounds of nature, and you opened your eyes to find yourself surrounded by trees.
“Woah… where are we…”
“Some place we never thought we’d return to.” Baekhyun mumbled. “Come on, we have some place to go.”
“You guys really need to stop being so cryptic.”
“I know, sorry. We’re still processing everything too.”
You followed the boys through the words, quite intrigued by the fact they knew exactly where they were going. After a while you came to this cabin. It seemed abandoned with nature having taken it back, but it all retreated as Lay waved his hand. You went with the boys inside, seeing all the dust that’s been collecting. Sehun was quick to blow that all away, but a silent stillness remained.
“So… what is this place?”
“An old home.” Xiumin said.
“Are we staying?”
“For the foreseeable future, yes.”
“Then we should start cleaning up.”
Your bright spirit was a bit of a contrast with the rest of the atmosphere, but the others agreed with you. The others helped you clean up, making this place feel more like a home. While cleaning you found an interesting picture. It was a group photo of the boys with a handful of unfamiliar faces. There was something strange about this whole place you couldn’t quite put your finger on, and this picture added to that uneasiness. Before you could dwell on it more you heard Lay calling out to you, and you made your way to the back of the cabin, finding a greenhouse. You stepped into a garden you had never seen before, amazed by its beauty.
“Wow…”
“This is an old garden of mine, and you can see the plants have taken very good care of each other.”
“They must have missed you.”
“I missed them too.”
“What happened here? I saw a picture of you and some other people. Was this home before you met me?”
“For a long time it was, but we had to flee.”
“So why are you back now?”
“Cause we need to fix things.”
“Fix things?” You thought for a moment. “Is RF the reason you left this world?”
“Yes. This place was home, and then we wound up being held captive. When we escaped, we left this world in their hands. We have to correct that mistake.”
“That’s dangerous… facing RF head on… especially if the two of you have history here.” “I know, but it has to be done. For starters we need to check in with old friends.”
“Old friends?”
“You can meet them later.” Kai said as he entered the garden. “We have to find them first.”
“And how are you gonna do that?”
“A lot of remembering.”
Kai stepped forward, going into the garden and sitting himself down. Some vines crept over, wrapping around his arms and waist. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, making you wonder what he was doing. You had never seen Kai in the garden like this before.
“Are you picking anything up?”
“I can sense them… but it’s faint…”
“It’s been years at this point. Will that be enough or should I look for them?”
“No. This should be enough.”
After a while longer Kai opened his eyes, the vines moving away and releasing him. He gave you a big smile and came over to press a kiss to your cheek.
“Suho, Sehun, and I will be going out for a bit. We’ll be back as soon as we can.”
“What? Can’t I go?”
“This place is unknown, and it’s best if you stay here where it’s safe.”
“Then why not bring our house here?”
“We don’t want to draw attention to ourselves. Besides this place was the blueprint of the home we have now. Stay and be good.”
“Alright… don’t be gone too long.”
“Hopefully we won’t.”
The trio went off, and you focused on making this old place feel new. Kai scouted ahead first to make sure no one would get hurt and that they could lay low. Alleys always worked in their favor.
“Where are we?” Sehun asked.
“No idea.” Kai admitted. “Since the frequency is so faint I can’t get an exact location, but they have to be around here somewhere.”
“So like a needle in a haystack.”
“At least I narrowed down the search, didn’t I?”
“Don’t fight.” Suho reminded. “We have no idea what they’re like anymore after all this time. We might not be welcomed. Just lay low and don’t draw attention.”
The area they were in wasn’t that popular, but there were still plenty of people around going about their day. They seamlessly blended in, walking down the street and looking around. Nothing much had seemed to change about the world, but that wasn’t entirely a good thing. While walking Sehun had gotten a strange feeling, stopping before a building.
“Sehun?”
“There’s something about this place.”
“What place? A dojo?”
“I can’t explain it.”
“Wouldn’t hurt to give it a try.”
The three went inside, seeing that the place was empty, except for one gentleman. They were cleaning the weapons rack. They began their welcome speech and turned around, only to cut themselves short.
“Suho… Kai… Sehun… is that really you?”
“Surprised to see us. Shownu?”
“I thought I’d never see you again.”
Shownu ran over to embrace the three in a hug, still processing that they were really there. So much had happened since they last spoke. There was a lot to catch up on, but something else was more important.
“What are you doing here? I didn’t think you’d return.”
“We have to right our wrongs.” Suho explained. “We’re sorry we took so long.”
“It’s just incredible to see you now.”
“What about the others?” Kai asked. “How are they?”
“I’m not so sure. We don’t keep in touch. It was better if we remained separate. Although for a while I was in contact with Wonho, but he hasn’t been around in months. I’m worried something happened to him but I have no way of finding out.”
“That’s alright. We plan to reunite everyone. If you don’t have any pressing business, we could go now.”
“Absolutely. It’d be so good to see everyone’s face again.”
Once again Kai relied on a faded feeling, going ahead to make sure everything was safe before returning for the others. Shownu did need a moment to recover from the nauseating feeling of teleportation before they could continue. It was another small town, but nothing vastly unfamiliar to Shownu. Neither of them knew where to look so it was back to walking the streets. Although this time around they had someone with a slightly better eye than them.
“Have you been avoiding me?”
“Huh… Shownu!”
Wonho ran over to hug his hyung, embracing them tightly with disbelief clear on his face. This seemed like a dream, more so when he realized his friend was not alone.
“You… is it really you?”
“Long time no see, right?”
“I can’t believe this.” Wonho stated. “What’s going on?”
“We’ll explain later, right now we’re just trying to find everyone.” Suho said. “Did you keep in touch with anyone?”
“No. Only Shownu, but that didn’t last long.”
“How did you find me anyway?”
“It’s a bit complicated… I received a watch in the mail with some instructions and a location… I was hesitant to use it but when I did, I found my way to you.”
“That must be what I sensed.” Sehun said. “The energy from you traveling back and forth. Without it we might not have found Shownu so easily.”
“I’m glad I could help.” Wonho teased. “So who are we looking for next?”
“No idea.” Suho admitted. “We’re just going to the nearest signal.”
“Got it. Ready when you are.”
“You’re very eager.”
“It’s been a long time.”
“I know.”
The five of them made the journey to their next location. Another town, and another needle in a haystack. Still, the more of them they found, the better they all felt. This time around everyone was surprised to find Minhyuk with Changkyun in a cafe. The reunion there was far bigger than the last.
“Have you two been in touch this whole time?” Wonho asked.
“Not consistently.” Minhyuk admitted. “Changkyun would stop by once in a while to check up on me, nothing more.”
“I have incredible timing don’t you think?” Changkyun teased. “I’m so happy to see you all, but also surprised.”
“When we get back to the cabin we can talk.”
“That place is still standing? I would have thought for sure RF would have destroyed it or something.”
“They’d never be able to get close.”
It was great to see each other, but they still had others to find. With the next jump some had gotten used to the nausea, and others not so much.
“Gosh, that always feels weird.” Changkyun commented. “So, who’s here?”
“We don’t know.” Kai said. “Just following a feeling.”
The group walked around for a while. They weren’t sure who to be looking for but once again Sehun had a strange feeling. He led the group inside a building, finding Jooheon behind a glass in the middle of work.
“Jooheon.”
“Hm?” The boy got up. “You… oh my gosh.”
Jooheon rushed out to embrace his brothers, tears stinging his eyes. Suho and the others let them have their reunion, aware they hadn’t seen much of each other in a long time too.
“What’s the reason behind all this?” Jooheon asked. “I thought we’d never see each other again.”
“It’s a long story.” Kai said. “But we’ll get to it. We just need to find the others first.”
“About that…”
“What?”
“I… I wish I could have told you all this sooner… but Kihyun… he was in a car accident…  he’s…”
“I’m so sorry.” Suho mentioned.
The news took everyone by surprise, although Sehun had been looking around. Once again he felt something was off, except it was different this time around. He stepped away from the group, and Kai noticed, following him.
“Sehun, what is it?”
“I’m not sure… but I feel like someone else is here…”
“Someone else?”
Kai wasn’t sure what Sehun meant, but he had his own way of figuring things out. He closed his eyes and took a moment, then disappeared. Moments later he returned and threw someone to the ground. This person had a visor covering their eyes like some VR headset, and seemed to be wearing some kind of armor.  The others had noticed this as well.
“What the heck?”
“This person’s been spying on us. Any ideas?”
“RF let us go.” Minhyuk said.
“That doesn’t mean they wouldn’t keep an eye on you.”
“They weren’t following us.” Sehun added. “So they must have been here keeping an eye on Jooheon.”
“Me?”
That’s when the spy decided to move, making an attempt to run but Kai was quick to follow. The two engaged in some quick combat. This person was skilled, but Kai’s powers gave him an advantage. He managed to land a hard kick to the face, causing the other to slam to the ground. There was the audible crack of the visor and then all movement ceased. Shownu and Suho flipped over the spy, realizing a familiar face was under the mask.
“Kihyun…”
Everyone was confused and shocked. The news they had just been told suddenly became a lie, and this brought up so many questions. They all agreed that they couldn’t stay here for much longer so Suho made the call to go back home, taking everyone with them.
“Clear the table.”
Shownu called out orders as he carried Kihyun inside, Jooheon quickly wiped everything off the nearest table. Everyone gathered around as Kihyun was laid out on the table, helping to get the gear off of him. Others that had heard the commotion came to see what was going on, although there were no time for greetings. Things were taken off Kihyun to make him more comfortable, but the visor wouldn’t come off.
“So…” Minhyuck spoke. “How do we get that off him? Seems attached to his face and I don’t wanna… what if I hurt him?”
“You won’t.”
Another voice caught everyone’s attention. They all looked over at the door, seeing a tall figure hidden under an umbrella walk in. Once the group had gotten to the old house Suho made it rain to cover their tracks and it was pretty bad outside. This person seemed pretty clean, barely a drop of water on their umbrella, and not a speck of mud on them despite the surrounding woods. The umbrella was lowered, Hyungwon revealing his face.
“There’s a button on the left side of the visor. Press it and it will come off without issue.”
No one moved but Minhyuck, feeling around and finding the button. When he got the visor off he tossed it to Chen. Kihyun didn’t react, the other boy starting to shake him.
“Kihyun… Kihyun, wake up.”
“He won’t.” Hyungwon said. “And I suggest you don’t fry the visor.”
“What do you mean he won’t wak-” Shownu said but was cut off.
“It was supposed to be me!”
Jooheon yelled, storming over to Hyungwon. The older boy didn’t move, not at all afraid of the other. It was clear Jooheon wanted to fight, but Wonho was quick to run over and step in front of Hyungwon, holding his arm out. Shownu and Changkyun had moved as well, grabbing Jooheon and pulling him back despite his protests.
“It was supposed to be me!”
“Jooheon, what are you talking about?” Changkyun asked. “You’re not making any sense.”
“I was supposed to be in the accident! Not Kihyun! I saw you there, Hyungwon, I saw you there at the crash site!”
“What?” Shownu’s grip got tighter. “Jooheon, stop this and explain yourself.”
Jooheon kept glaring at Hyungwon, wanting to punch him, but he stopped fighting when Shownu asked. The two holding him waited a moment, making sure he was calm before letting him go. Wonho stayed with Hyungwon, but wasn’t sure what was going on.
“I’ve always felt that something was off about the accident.” Jooheon began. “I’ve had dreams of it, where I’m the one in the driver’s seat, it felt so real, too real, to just be a dream. I remember seeing you there when the ambulance took Kihyun, and then you disappeared. It was supposed to be me right? You changed that somehow. Why? It should be me on that table!”
“I couldn’t let RF get to you, I’m sorry.”
“Wait, you’re saying that Jooheon’s dreams are real?” Minhyuk asked.
“Those aren’t dreams, but memories of another timeline. I’m surprised you retain fragments of the accident.”
“So this…” Changkyun was mumbling. “This was what you needed to change?”
“What?” Shownu questioned. “What are you talking about?”
“Hyungwon came to me once, long before the accident, he asked me for a favor, said it was important. He needed to change something in the timeline, told me when and where Minhyuck would be, asked me to look after him, keep him safe for as long as possible.”
“Wait, you’ve been in contact with Hyungwon this whole time?”
“Yes… yes, I have.”
“So, that’s how you found me? I found that watch, a customer left it. I was just messing with it, I didn’t know it…” Minhyuk trailed off as he came to a realization, looking at Hyungwon. “You left that for me! You wanted me to use it!”
“Yes. It’s why I left one at Wonho’s place too.”
“It was you? You… you set us up?” Wonho seemed hurt. “Why? WHY!?”
“I needed a distraction. You’re all on RF’s radar, if you were found to be time traveling they’d focus on you since you were messing with the timeline.”
“You gave one to Kihyun too!” Jooheon questioned. “Didn’t you! You knew he would feel guilty over what happened and would want to change it! Why didn’t you just stop the accident!”
“You don’t think I tried to stop it, despite knowing better. There are things that are fated to happen, that accident was one of them. It was going to happen, one way or the other, if not at that moment, then later. Every attempt I made to change it ended the same, Jooheon was severely hurt and taken by RF. I couldn’t stop it, but I could change who was taken.”
“Why! WHY!”
“What did you do?” Changkyun growled. “Kihyun didn’t just get into the driver’s seat…”
“I did what I just did here. I showed him the truth, the accident can’t be stopped, and I gave him the opportunity to save Jooheon.”
“No you manipulated him!” Jooheon spat. “I see no reason why it shouldn’t be me on the table.”
“It’s because of me.” Lay spoke up. “Isn’t?”
“Yes.” Hyungwon nodded. “I’m sorry.”
“Wait, what? What does Lay have to do with this.”
“Everything.” Xiumin added. “Jooheon, you know more about Lay’s plants than any of your friends. If RF got to you, they would learn that and… well I suppose Hyungwon knows what the outcome of that is.”
“You’re seriously defending him? He’s the one who betrayed us, who turned Baekhyun in, when you asked us to look after him.”
“We did.” Sehun got up. “But not Tao, right Hyungwon?”
“Yes. Tao asked me to bring Baekhyun in, he knew it wouldn’t end well if he was kept from the group any longer. I’m sorry.”
“Why didn’t you tell us?” Shownu asked.
“Cause he told me not to.”
“So you just betrayed us?” Wonho said. “You picked him over us?”
“That’s not it.”
“That’s exactly what you did!” Minhyuk yelled. “You betrayed us! And stayed with RF when they gave us an out!”
“He made a promise.” Kai added. “Isn’t that right? Tao could see the future if he focused with Luhan at his side. He knew what would happen if Baekhyun stayed away from us. He knew what would happen to him, to the others, and that we’d escape, but he knew we’d be back too. So, he needed someone to look after this world in our absence.”
“Yes.” Hyungwon admitted. “I made a promise, and that meant gaining RF’s trust, even if it meant losing you guys. I’m-”
“Don’t.” Wonho interrupted. “I don’t want to hear it, just wake Kihyun up and go.”
“I… I can’t… he’s comatose.”
“What!”
“The visor… it controls him, he’s lifeless without it.”
“So that’s what my fate was.” Jooheon said. “Comatose.”
“No… no it wasn’t. Messing with the timeline has a price, even when you find a loophole.”
“You… you killed him!” Changkyun shouted. “You killed Kihyun!”
“I’m sorry.”
Changkyun charged at Hyungwon, but he disappeared before he was grabbed. The boy fell to his knees distraught. He felt partially guilty for having helped Hyungwon in his plan, not knowing what the outcome would be. Shownu went over to comfort him, Wonho screaming as well and punching the wall. Minhyuk had fallen to his knees as well, holding Kihyun’s hand, his own silent tears falling.
“Fix this.” Jooheon looked at Lay. “You can heal him.”
“The mind is a far more complex thing to heal.”
“But you can do it.”
“I… I don’t know.”
“No, the answer is yes, you can fix him!”
“Jooheon, I don’t-”
“Don’t give me that crap, you can!”
“I don-”
“Maybe we can.” Baekhyun interrupted. “When Haechan and the others were stuck in the inbetween they were pretty much comatose. You woke them up, so you could-”
“We knew where their minds were, knew where to go and get them out. We have no idea where Kihyun is, he could be brain dead for all we know.”
“Then take him there.” Shownu spoke.
“What?”
“Take Kihyun’s mind to the inbetween, if he’s truly alive then you’ll find him there, right? And you can bring him back.”
“Do it.” Jooheon said. “Whatever that is, do it.”
“We can’t just do that.” Suho said. “The inbetween isn’t our place. We didn’t wake the others up, we helped one of their own go in and get them out. We can’t-”
“Then call your friends! Get them to do this!”
“Jooheon-”
“What do we have to lose?” Minhyuk added. “We didn’t know what had become of  Kihyun until now, but this isn’t living.”
“The inbetween becomes a personal hell if you stay there.” DO said. “It’s not-”
“Kihyun put himself in a car accident.” Wonho cut in. “He knew the consequences then, he’d understand them now. So whoever you need to call, call them and try to save him, that’s all we’re asking.”
It got quiet. Suho looked around at everyone, the decision had fallen to him. He took a breath then looked at Lay, nodding his head.
“Lay, DO, with me. Xiumin, you and Chen know what to make, the garden here is like the one back home, so you should have what you need. The rest of you look after y/n.”
You had heard the commotions from before, but Baekhyun had you stay hidden just to be safe. Nothing that was spoken made sense to you, not until the end and talking about the inbetween. You peeked your head around the corner, seeing this person unconscious on the table. Everyone seemed busy with things so you carefully approached them. You looked at them for a while before someone else approached. They looked you over and then pulled you into a hug.
“Y/n!”
You didn't react, confused as to who was hugging you and why. He had such a huge smile on his face, but it faltered when he saw your confusion.
“Y/n, it’s me, Wonho, we grew up together, remember?”
“What?”
“We went to elementary and high school together. You disappeared a few years ago, we thought you were dead.”
“Wait, what? You’re saying we know each other?”
“Yes.” Wonho pulled up a picture of you and him together. “What happened to you?”
You were quiet, staring at the picture, then you looked over at Chanyeol who was in the room. The sad look on their face told you everything you needed to know.
“I’m... I’m from here, this world is my home… why don’t I remember that! Why don’t I remember my past!”
You started to panic, drawing a blank on your childhood, on everything before knowing them. Cahnyeol took a step towards you but you backed away.
“No… what’s going on… why don’t I-”
“A lot happened when we met.” Suho added, having overheard things and coming over. “We met by chance and you helped us but RF caught up to us, we couldn’t just leave you for them to do who knows what so we took you with us. We never planned to come back here and we couldn’t return you either. We didn’t want you to feel home sick… so we made you forget your past…”
“I…”
You had tears in your eyes, the lack of memories making you feel so lost. Your past had always been a fuzzy thing, and when you thought back on it something else always came up to distract you. This wasn’t how you thought you’d get answers. Even if you did know Wonho you felt nothing familiar about him.
“It’s our fault. We got you involved, we never meant to, I swear, but we had to keep you safe.”
“Did you?” You spat, eyes flashing black for a moment. “What you did… was it really for my own good… or for yours.”
You stormed out, not wanting to hear anything anymore, having some new information to deal with. Once you were gone the others looked at each other, then Wonho.
“You knew y/n?” Suho questioned.
“Yes, and I thought I knew you too.”

NPSS Weibo Q&A (20240831) Part 9
This is a Q&A session held on Weibo. People will tag their questions with the hashtag #南派三叔藏海花在线答疑# (#NPSS Zang Hai Hua Online Q&A#) and NPSS will look through the tag to pick some to answer. The event started at 1500 hours on 2024 August 31st.
Folder with screenshots and big compilation google doc is here. Part 1 is here. Part 2 is here. Part 3 is here. Part 4 is here. Part 5 is here. Part 6 is here. Part 7 is here. Part 8 is here.
1301
Q: Shu, what’s the flower language for the Tibetan Sea Flower? A: The distance of a step. (T/N: this is a proverb meaning something that is very close either in distance or as in close to success.)
1302
Q: If the black spot’s tunnels can go from Inner Mongolia to Mount Kunlun, doesn’t that mean that it’s a good candidate for making train tracks? Could it be that the few key locations have tunnels connecting them? When Xiaoge disappeared during the West Queen, did he go somewhere tens of kilometers away?
A: Uh… That’s not my profession.
1303
Q: Sanshu, Sanshu, I really need to know this. When Hei Xiazi and Xie Yuchen finish their mission and go back to their hotel at night, would they chat and drink wine to unwind?
A: On the way, Hei Xiazi would suggest eating at all the street food stalls but would be rejected every time. In the end, the two of them would buy some bread and make do with sitting by the city’s river.
1304
Q: Why does the Zhangs' names always have to do with seafood? Then why isn’t there a Zhang Cuyu? (T/N: Zhang Vinegar Fish.)
A: Now there is. It’s you.
1304
Q: Does Wu Xie like to eat Chinese bayberries? Would he go up to the hills to harvest bayberry during summer while sightseeing the spring in the hills and then make bayberry wine?
A: He likes them but worries that there’s bugs [inside them].
1304
Q:Sanshu, Sanshu, can you describe Hei Xiazi and Xie Yuchen’s story in Iceland in three characters? A: Insanely crazy. (T/N: this was four characters in chinese.)
1305
Q: I would like to know how Sanshu picks the questions to answer. Do you just scroll and pick whichever that you like?
A: [I pick] the ones that I have answers for at first glance. I won’t answer those that require me to think for half a day.
1305
Q: Lei, why do you say that you want to lose weight every year? But why are you still a little fatty every year? Did you say that you’ll do Pilates? Didn’t you say that you want to act as Wu Xie? How will this work if you lack determination?
A: I walked ten thousand steps at 5am yesterday.
1307
Q: What is Hei Xiazi better at, the violin or the erhu?
A: Violin, but musical instruments are interconnected.
1311
Q: Shu, will we see Zhang Yixing act as Eryue Hong again in this lifetime? The prettiest Honghong.
A: I don’t know. Leave it to fate. I’m very chill. (T/N: the term he used here “佛“ is an internet slang meaning to be unconcerned, let things be like Buddha would. )
1312
#NPSS Zang Hai Hua Online Q&A# A lot of people wanted to know how the paper dolls move around. You’ll understand it after looking at this explanation picture about the Kumuli Snake Disaster from Zang Hai Hua.
Tumblr media
1317
Q: Is it a leader-follower relationship between the big paper doll and the small paper doll? Then why did Wu Xie see the big paper doll eating the small paper doll?
A: Snakes eating snakes.
1319
Q: I can't stop thinking about this: When Wu Xie and the gang are on the road of adventure for so long, would their hair get oily? How do they deal with this? Would they bring shampoo and wash up now and then? A: What’s wrong with Xie oil? Is Xie-oil inauspicious? (T/N: the comments say that there’s a pun here, but I can’t figure out what’s the pun.)
1323
Q: Does Zang Hai Hua’s Zhang Qiling’s muscular body fit your imagination? A: It’s not bad.
1326
Q: Sanshu, Sanshu, when there’s nothing to do around Yucun, would Wu Xie feel like his current life is like a dream?
A: This feeling is very nuanced. A dream is too shallow of a description.
just one update for today! i've gotten a bit lazy with translating today because there are a few long ones in a row... wah wah wah whine whine.

I restarted The Golden Eyes, which I had watched the first eps of and then had to find a new viewing platform, because iQiyi does that thing where they upload the first 1-5 eps of a show and the rest is only available on their own app for premium members. And I am that stubborn person that won't pay for yet another streaming site unless it's a necessity. And if I didn't get premium iQiyi for Ultimate Note I am damn well not going to get it for The Golden Eyes. Sorry not sorry.
Anyways, it's available with ads on Rakuten Viki. Viki's anti-adblocking is actually better than my current setup but their ads are also less frequent and obnoxious than Youtube, so I sucked it up and restarted it there.
Despite the really dramatic opening, it's kind of leisurely paced. And I originally had no idea how they're going to get 50+ eps out of this but it is trotting along at its own speed so they can probably stretch it that far. If you watch Candle in the Tomb or Daomu Biiji and are more into the seedy underbelly and daily lives of the antique world than the ghosty horror of tomb robber shows, you'd probably be interested in this show.
I'm not quite sure how I feel about most of the characters and acting. Zhang Yixing is probably at his Mystic Nine level rather than his more skilled Ming Dynasty level, but the character is also kind of an awkward dude so maybe it's the character. Imagine, my DMBJ friends and neighbors, if Wu Xie got into mystical shenanigans while running his shop at the beginning of the franchise. I could easily see Zhang Yixing pulling that off based on this show.
However, I do not like the police lady, neither the character nor the actress, and Zhuang Rui's bestie is alternately amusing and annoying so I don't know what to make of him. But Yin Nanfeng's actress showed up and she's a delight~ Hong Xuan could totally play Liang Wan (and judging by Back From the Brink, Yang Rong could pull off Yin Nanfeng).
Overall, I'm enjoying it. But I'm 13 eps in and they've barely touched on the mystic eye baloney, so we'll see if this leisurely stroll towards the plot pays off.

Goretober D25: Muddied - Lay

Goretober 2021 Masterlist
EXO Masterlist
Tumblr media
Pairing: Angel! Yixing x Fallen Angel! GN Reader
Genre: Fluff, Angst, Implied Smut
Summary: You were sin itself. Temptation embodied. Everything he knew he needed to avoid and yet he couldn’t pull himself away.
Warnings: Angel themes, fallen angel themes, demon themes, alcohol, implied smut, strip clubs, cursing, very light vampire themes.
Word Count: 485
He shouldn’t find himself coming closer and closer to you each time you find each other, and yet somehow that’s always where he ends up. How you always ended up where you could find him he wasn’t sure. You had been stripped of your title and since been confined to the human realm. If he had to guess he would say it’s likely knowledge you’re being gifted by the demons you found yourself in the company of more often than not. It made sense though, your actions assisted them more often than not after all. Choosing to ignore the pleadings of various covens who had been searching for a fallen angel and instead help create deliciously sinful chaos.
“Hello again, angel. What brings you here today?” Your voice is sultry, the same tone you use to lure so many human targets in. He’s not so gullible, at least he likes to think he’s not, perhaps he's playing into your hand all the same though.
Yixing debates answering your question, eyes flickering to the person he was supposed to keep an eye on. The one he was hoping to assist in avoiding temptation, something that became ever more challenging once you were involved seeing as how he had to keep himself under control too. The chuckle you let out when picking up on the action should serve as warning enough.
“Better get a move on then angel, we’ve already gotten a head start. Shouldn’t be long now before they crack under the pressure either.” You muse, smirk playing on your lips. That’s when he noticed it. Your wings had been stripped away, leaving horrid scars but otherwise, you’d remained angelic in appearance until now. Your appearance was slowly changing again. Canines extending some now, fangs forming if you knew what to look for. Something he picked up easily on after centuries of what he did.
“Can’t you just leave things be for once?” Yixing sighs, shoulders slumping in defeat over your statement already knowing how much he was going to have to work for it now if he was going to make any progress. Still, his nature showed through even when dealing with you, “Please?”
The way you bat your lashes as you saunter over to him is anything but innocent, gripping his jaw under your fingers, “Oh a please? Did you know you’re so pretty when you beg, angel?”
The way he flusters makes you chuckle. Watching as the angel sputters over his words, trying to form a response. You decide it’s time to back off again, letting him come to you. This being your favorite form of the game when it came to these things.
“It’s not like we’re killing anyone Yixing. You really should loosen up, we’re just having a bit of fun after all. Something I could show you if you’d just let me. It’s something like you’ve never experienced before, angel.”

Snow Crossed (Pt2)
Master List   (Part 1)
--
Soulmates were the most common thing on the planet. Everyone had a soulmate, someone who fit so perfectly against you, it was as though they were a missing piece. For nearly 2 years, you had believed so earnestly that the man you were with was the one the universe had made especially for you, but the signs pointing otherwise were becoming too obvious.
The first, you had noticed the first time you had ever seen him shirtless. Nestled on Lucas’s back, just above his shoulder blade, was a small, but vibrant rose, a tattoo he could never remember the origin of. You knew the stories of people who had tattoos as their marks, the colors would fade the instant they touched, but your mask remained its bold black shade all the way up until the meeting with Yixing.
You loved Lucas, more than anyone else, but there was no pull to him the way you were pulled to Yixing, there was no instant spark, no ghosts of touches past when you were away from one another. Even the marks he’d leave on you would fade faster than most.
You were beginning to believe Wong Yukhei had never been your soulmate. If you were right that meant one of two possible truths, either he had lied to you about being soulmates, that he had gotten the tattoo to trick you, or his parents were lying to you both, and that hurt more than anything else. You wanted to believe even if Lucas wasn’t your soulmate, that he at least wasn’t hurting you on purpose.
You tried hard to pretend everything was fine, but you knew he would see the signs eventually. You could see in his eyes as he pieced things together, the way you avoided him, the constant studying of soulmates, the way you’d lose yourself in your own thoughts. You wanted to pretend as long as possible, maybe even forever, that you were meant to be together, but every day without Yixing felt like someone was tearing chunks of your heart away.
“We need to talk.” Those four words had your heart racing. Almost two months after that day in the coffee shop and you were barely hanging onto your sanity, and you knew Lucas could tell. You couldn’t keep this from him.
“Yes we do.” You were thankful it was Saturday as you faced each other on the couch, the TV shut off, bathing the apartment in silence.
“Are you cheating on me?”
“I don’t think you’re my soulmate.” You both speak at the same time, mouths hanging open in shock at each other’s words.
“So you are cheating on me?” Lucas’ eyes are full of tears, and you can only shake your head as you cup his cheeks. “How could you think I’m not your soulmate if you aren’t.”
“I promise you, I am not cheating.” You assure him, shoulders slumping. “But I met this guy, and nothing’s felt right since.” You sigh, dropping your hands from his face. He wraps his much larger hands around yours as they shake slightly. “Do you remember the day we met Ai? When someone bumped into me?”
“And you burned your finger, yeah.”
“I ran into him a few days later at the coffee place, and we stopped to chat. He has the same mask, the same mark.” You explain, pulling your hand from his to pull up your sleeve. The lines had faded to an older black, looking more like a proper tattoo than a soulmate mark. “I hadn’t realized it at the time, but it had faded after the day of the hot cocoa incident.” You reach for his arm, placing it next to yours, and you both marvel at the faded lines on his arm. “I’ve been trying to figure out how it was possible, if we were all soulmates or if one of us was lying and-” Your breath catches, and you can’t finish.
“Please tell me.” Lucas breathes, his own hand starting to shake.
“Lucas please be honest with me,” You lean away from him, grabbing the folder of research you had done from the coffee table. “The rose on your shoulder, do you remember where you got it?”
“I-” He stops himself, confusion settling on his face as he thinks. “No, I don’t.”
“I’ve been doing research, and I think, I think the rose is your real soulmate mark.”
“It can’t be.” He defends, “What about this?” He gestures to the mask on his arm.
“I don’t know, but once I met Yixing, and started to question it, I noticed the inaccuracies.” You pull out an old photo of your tattoo, from before. “Look at the darkness of the lines. This was taken about a week before our wedding, but now, its faded. Yours has been faded the entire time I’ve known you.” You glance up at his face, but the mix of emotion is hard to read. “Do you remember when you got your mark?”
“I was 13, I had been in the hospital, just really sick. I don’t really remember it.” He explains. “But when I woke up a few days later, I had the mark.”
“Do you remember how it felt?”
“It felt like I had just gotten a tattoo, I even had to take care of it the same way.” Your heart sinks into your stomach as he finishes the story, and he must have seen the hurt on your face. “That’s not how it’s supposed to be, is it?”
“No.” You sigh. “I got mine at 10, four years before you.” You begin, having to look away from him as the reality of everything set in. “These marks, they burn when they appear, but they don’t scab over the way regular tattoos do, and they shouldn’t require lotions and soaps like regular ones either.” You let out a shaking breath. “And I was looking at pictures, comparing ours, and they aren’t perfect matches, yours has breaks and some of the angles are too soft-”
“So you’re telling me its a fake?” His voice breaks, and so does your heart.
“I have more evidence,” You begin, but he stops you, grabbing your hand.
“I believe you, but you’re telling me,” He wipes at a tear as it races down his cheek. “You’re telling me my mark is fake? That you and I aren’t- we aren’t soulmates?” You don’t realize you’re crying until he lifts his hand to wipe away your tears.
“I’m so sorry, Lucas. I thought we were, I wanted us to be, but-”
“You can’t deny fate, I know.” He sniffles, and you can’t stop yourself from leaning forward to wrap your arms around him. The moment his head hits your shoulder, you both break into sobs, shaking as your hearts shatter.
~~
“Excuse me.” Your voice makes the well dressed man behind the desk turn around to look at you. His face breaks into a smile as he bows to you.
“Hello, I’m Jongin, welcome to EXO Palace, do you have reservations?” You clear your throat, gripping Lucas’ hand.
“We don’t, actually, but we need to speak to one of the employees here.” The young man’s face morphs into one of confusion.
“Should I get my manager?” You give the boy a smile, trying to placate his worry.
“We just need to speak to Yixing, if he’s working tonight?” Lucas squeezes your hand at the mention of his name. Kai smiles once again, bowing.
“He is, please step into our lounge while I get him. May I have your name?”
“Y/n Wong.” He nods, gesturing to the empty lounge.
“Thank you, we’ll return to you shortly.” You both thank him, bowing, before turning to the quiet room.
The restaurant is high class, high enough that you both felt the need to dress up, even though you had no intention of eating here. Your dark green velvet dress matches Lucas’ tie, and the red bottom pumps you wear go well with his red cufflinks. You perch on the edge of the black couch, debating getting a glass of wine to ease your nerves.
“Why am I nervous?” Lucas huffs quietly, eyeing the bartender as he cleans a glass. “I feel like I’m meeting your parents all over again.”
“Glad to know I’m not the only one.” You breathe, shoulders slumping slightly.
“Excuse me, Miss Wong.” A new voice calls your name and you turn to find a very well dressed man standing at the door. The bartender bows deeply to him, and your gut tells you he’s probably the owner or manager. You both stand, bowing to him, to which he does the same. “My name is Kim Junmyeon, I am the owner of this establishment. Kai tells me you’re looking for Zhang Yixing?”
“Yes sir, we have something very important to discuss with him.” Junmyeon nods, adjusting the cuffs of his Armani suit.
“I understand. I would like to say, Lay is a very close friend of mine, I won’t delve too deep, but are you the reason he’s seemed so, different?” He seems unsure of the last word, as though he didn’t think it was adequate.
“I believe so.” He nods again, and his eyes shift down to your arm. While Lucas’ mark is covered, yours isn’t, having given your jacket to the attendant at the door.
“We’ve decided to give you a private table to speak at, if you’ll come with me.” He turns, missing the way you and Lucas share a concerned glance, and begins leading you through the restaurant. People stop eating to stare at you, and you’re floored by some of the patrons. Xu Minghao, the fashion designer, and his husband. Johnny Suh, the American Ambassador to Korea with a few of his friends. Even G Dragon has a private booth in the corner with his friends. Were they staring because they knew you, or because you were with the owner?
“Here we are.” Junmyeon announces, he had led you into a back section of the restaurant, the nearest people were behind a frosted glass panel almost 10 feet away. “You’re welcome to order if you’d like, Yixing will be here in just a few minutes.”
“Thank you.” The three of you bow to each other before Junmyeon leaves, leaving the two of you alone. Lucas, like the gentleman he is, pulls your chair out for you, and places a comforting hand on your bouncing leg. Your chest is tight, like someone is squeezing it, and you’re finding it harder and harder to breathe.
“Excuse me?” Another new voice has you jumping, and makes you aware of how tightly wound you are. “I’m sorry to startle you, I’m Baekhyun, the wine expert here, Might I interest you in our wine selections?” The young man standing beside the table is obviously trying to hide a smile, as he extends the menu to you.
“Thank you.” You murmur, accepting it, and glancing over the options. You didn’t plan to eat but you had heard wonderful things about their food. “Correct me if I’m wrong, but its Barberas that go best with roasted duck?” You ask, trying to find something else to focus on.
“That’s true, ma’am.” He seems almost ecstatic that someone seems to know something about wine.
“I’ll have a glass please, something older, not from the newer oak barrels.”
“Of course, and you sir.” Lucas has to pull his gaze away from you, that far off smile of his still on his face.
“A merlot, please.” Baekhyun’s smile falters at his choice, but he still nods.
“I’ll return in a few moments.” He bows once more, backing away.
“You really need to take a breath darling.” Lucas’ thumb rubs gently over your thigh, trying to soothe your nerves.
“I don’t know what’s gotten into me, he’s not a stranger, I know him.” You sigh, “I need some air. I’ll be right back, play nice?”
“Of course darling.” You automatically kiss his cheek as you leave, feeling him tense under your touch.
“Thank you.” You practically run from the restaurant, the sudden chill of the winter night slamming into you the instant you open the door. “Fuck me.” You breathe, instantly feeling better as you gulp in the fresh air. “Get your shit together.”
~~
Lay enters the staff room to find Baekhyun with an unsettling smirk.
“What did you do?” Lay demands, while he pulls the stained apron off his waist, reaching for a fresh one.
“I didn’t do anything.” The younger boy defends, though his smile suggests otherwise.
“Liar.”
“All I did was offer them some wine.” He assures the other man who instantly stops moving.
“Them?” Baek’s smile changes from cocky to confused in an instant.
“I thought Kai told you there were two of them. A very pretty woman in a green dress, and a guy, still very pretty but not really my type.” Lay blinks into the foreground for a moment, collecting his thoughts.
“And she said her name was Y/n Wong?” Baek nods.
“Lovely woman, great taste in wine.” He continues, playing with the corner of the menu. “She chose a Barbera, even knew the ones from modern oak barrels are different from older ones.” Lay glances down at the man, pausing in his attempt at fixing his hair.
“Don’t tell me you’ve fallen in love with her.”
“No!” Baek exclaims, “But I really want to have her come over to the winery some time.”
“I’ll ask.” Lay snorts, “How do I look?” Baek eyes up the older man, who was still in his work uniform but now with his hair neatly coiffed and no random sauces staining his clothes.
“Sexy, but not like you’re trying too hard.”
“Good,” Lay nods. “Wish me luck.”
“Why?” Baek calls as Lay leaves the room.
“That guy is her husband.”
Lay finds the man sitting by himself, and finds that Baek was right, he was very attractive, with black hair carefully styled, and a gorgeous black suit that fit him well. For a few moments Lay regretted telling her where he worked, knowing there was no chance of comparing to this Lucas while in his uniform. It might have been a different story if Lay had gotten his hands on a tux beforehand.
Lucas spots him almost immediately, a friendly smile coming onto his lips, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. Lay lets out a nervous breath, putting on a smile of his own as he walks to the table.
Lucas stands to meet him, and Lay does his best not to be intimidated by his height.
“Hi, you must be Yixing, a pleasure to meet you.”
“You as well, you’re Lucas, right?”
“Yes, please have a seat,” Lucas gestures to the third chair, which Lay accepts. “Y/n had to step out for a moment.”
“Ah.” The pair go quiet, awkwardly waiting for their companion. “So, Lucas, Y/n told me you’re an Elementary School Teacher.”
“I am, I teach the fourth grade. You work here right?” Lay nods, “Are you a chef?”
“Yeah, I'm the Sous Chef.” He explains, watching Lucas’ shoulders sink a little.
“Are you boys getting along?” Your voice startles them both, who immediately stand. Neither boy can speak for a few moments, both floored by you with your pink tinted cheeks and the snow melting in your hair.
“Y/n, it’s wonderful to see you again.” Lay greets, bowing deeply. As he rises back up, he catches sight of the mask on your arm, sending his pulse into overdrive.
“You as well, Yixing.” You make your way to the empty seat just as Baekhyun returns with the wine.
“How have you been?” Lay asks, his smile contagious.
“I’ve been alright, I was recently offered a job as a photographer for National Geographic.” You tell him excitedly, feeling your worries slowly melting away.
“That’s amazing. I saw your photographs from the snowstorm back in December, they were absolutely gorgeous.”
“Thank you, you know I actually looked you up after we met, and the dishes you’ve posted on your instagram look amazing.” His cheeks tint pink at your words.
“Ah thank you, I’ll have to cook for you sometime.” You look away from him, trying to hide the blush on your cheeks, and as you do, you spot Lucas, who was gazing into his wine glass. He glances up at you quickly, and you’re reminded of why you’re here. “Right, Lay, as much as I would love to simply chat, Lucas and I didn’t come here for your company alone.” You begin, setting your glass down.
“I thought as much, though I do wish you would visit to simply have dinner with me.” He chuckles, “But please, what is bothering you?”
“Why do you think something’s bothering us?” Your question is met with another chuckle.
“Lucas, you’ve seemed upset since we met, and you, Miss Y/n, your hands are shaking.” He explains, and you look down to find that he is right. Lucas reaches over, covering your hand in his.
“Just tell him, Y/n.”
“Lay, I’ve been doing research recently, and I’ve come to believe we are soulmates.” You manage to blurt, your chest constricting at your own words. Lay blinks at you in shock for a few seconds.
“I thought you two were-”
“So did we.” Lucas begins. “But we also think my parents may have given me a tattoo so that the two of us would get married and merge our family fortunes.”
“We found out a week ago, and his parents confessed the other day when we confronted them.” You continue.
“I wanted to meet you myself. I love Y/n, I do, but not the way I should and I wanted to make sure her real soulmate was someone worth her time.” Lay is clearly in shock, blinking numbly at you both.
“I’m not asking you to jump into a relationship with me, but I felt as though.” You sigh, “Well after that day in the coffee shop, I wanted you to know that your mark was true.”
“I think you two should talk.” Lucas sighs, standing, and downing the last of his wine. “I’ll see you later.” He kisses the top of your head before walking away, and you can’t bring yourself to stop him.
“Lay?” You finally manage to ask after a long silence. He finally snaps back into reality, looking at you as though he’s never seen you before.
“Why did you come here?”
“I told you, I wanted to make sure you knew your mark was correct.”
“You spent months making me feel as though I was going crazy! To show up at my place of work with no warning and drop this kind of bomb on me,” He sighs, trying to calm himself down. “You came to see me with your husband. I understand that he wanted to meet me, but to tell me I’m your soulmate while still wearing your wedding ring?” He shakes his head. “I’ll be going now, I need some time to think.” He stands quickly, bows and before you can piece a sentence together, you’re left alone at a table for three, wondering how you let it come to this.

Look at Me, Only Me
Tumblr media
warnings: body insecure reader (body dysmorphia)
notes: I thought about this everytime I would take a shower, I just need it to be out there once and for all
--
People weren’t wrong when they perceive Yixing as a workaholic person. He practically lives and breathes at his studio, if he had a choice he would’ve wanted to be born there as well.
But what they were wrong off is that, he still goes home, and always look forward to it. At the end of the day, as much as he wants to spend some more time in the studio, the image of you alone in your shared house does something he doesn’t want to him and would immediately book to you,
When he opened the door to your home, the smell of freshly made dinner lingered and he realized just how hungry he was. You even cooked his favorite meal.
“Babe!” He called out while removing his shoes and jacket, going to the kitchen and saw the table was already set but you weren’t anywhere in sight.
He kept calling out your name, until he went up to your shared bedroom and heard the shower running, smiling to himself when he opened the door and the smell of your body wash surrounded him.
Yixing closed the door behind him and removed his shirt, walking towards you slowly who had your back facing them. It was obvious that you were deep in thought, there was a mirror in front of you and Yixing could clearly see him even if he wasn’t close yet you stood there.
He then stopped as he noticed the look in your eyes, one with disbelief and disgust. The water running down your body while you stared at yourself, pinching your stomach and even sucking it in, letting out a disappointed sigh as it returned to its normal size.
You then spread your right arm and pinched at the skin underneath it, before letting it go, then pinching it again.
Then you turned your attention to your face, pushing your cheeks in and the from the chin, massaging your face up to your ear. Holding it there and staring at it before letting it fall back.
Yixing couldn’t bare watching anymore of this.
He then walked towards you and wrapped his arms around your body, getting under the shower with you as he placed his chin on top of your shoulder and felt you tense up in shock, but then relaxing upon realizing it was him.
He placed kisses along you shoulder, then at the side of your neck then up to your head, anywhere he could reach while you only looked at him through the mirror, your sad eyes looking at him while your hands are placed on top of his head and one on his hands by your waist.
“Never look at yourself like that again. You’re perfect, you’re amazing, and it’s killing me knowing you think of yourself as anything else. I love you, and if you’re doubting yourself again, look at me, only me, and I’ll do my best to show you how I see you. And then you will see how perfect you are, and how much I love you.”

kinktober: hand job (zhang yixing x reader)
Tumblr media
pairing: zhang yixing x reader word count: 745 genre: smut warnings: description of sexual activities, semi-public sex, hand job, swearing a/n: happy birthday, zyx 🥹❤️
yixing was uncomfortably hard.
he tried his best to think about the most horrendous, disgusting things his mind could come up with - anything to get rid of that boner without having to get up and run to the plane's bathroom to release himself.
i mean, if they had put him in the corridor he gladly would, but of course he got the seat by the window. of course he had you and one of his crew members seated beside him. of course he had to get hard just when everyone was asleep around him.
his loosen sweatpants suddenly didn't feel so comfortable. he felt restrained, lower lip between his teeth as every time he tried to move some sort of friction happened and it just felt so good. but gosh, he couldn't moan - he wanted to, but he couldn't.
checking his phone, yixing's eyes went wide when he saw there was still three hours of flight to go. there was no way he could survive that.
'so this is how i die, because i couldn't handle a freaking boner', his dramatic ass thought.
suddenly, among what sounded like a groan he was trying to hold back, yixing felt a hand on his thigh. 'great, now i'm going nuts too'.
long fingers tugged on his sweatpants, letting him know that no, he wasn't imagining that. so yixing looked down, seeing a hand spread against his right thigh. he gazed at the hand, then the wrist, arm, until he met your eyes on him.
you looked at him like nothing was happening - and maybe you were just pretending that nothing was actually happening.
"babe!", yixing faked a smile. "you scared me. i thought you were asleep."
"how can i sleep when you keep moving all the time beside me?"
"guilty. i'm sorry, i just can't sleep. i'll be quiet though!"
you sighed, sitting a bit closer to your boyfriend, resting your head on yixing's shoulder.
"if you don't do something about that boner right now, i might as well take care of it for you, yixing", you whispered against yixing's ear.
he shivered, grabbing your hand and moving it away from his thigh.
"i don't know what you're talking about."
"yeah, like i'm blind or something", you rolled your eyes.
you put his hand again on yixing's thigh, but now a little bit higher, just enough to brush your fingers where your boyfriend needed the most.
"i can't sleep because you keep moving around, so think about this as a favor i'm doing to myself then."
"y/n...", yixing protested as your fingers found their way to inside his pants. "stop!"
"make me."
yixing was ready to protest again when you wrapped your fingers around his boner, cold hand feeling amazing against his hot, soft skin. yixing bit his lip once again, holding back what would surely sound like the neediest moan he ever let out.
you started to stroke him then, going up to his tip and pressing it with your thumb, and then down to massage his base. yixing closed his eyes, mouth slightly open as he thrusted his hips up to meet your movements.
"you're so hard, love", you moaned in his ear. "would love to feel it against my lips... you must taste so good."
"baby...", yixing whispered. "baby, don't stop..."
while yixing was lost in pleasure, you made sure to look around the plane, hoping not to catch anyone's eyes on you two.
so once you knew everyone was indeed asleep, you started to stroke yixing's dick harder, making him grab his armrests for dear life. he moaned, and at the exact moment, you faked a cough to cover up the sound.
"don't stop... don't stop...", yixing mumbled.
you smirked then, thumb once again playing with yixing's tip and squeezing it, until you felt yixing's release all over you palm. you went back to stroking him, letting him ride his high as he wished.
the both of you stayed still for a moment, then - yixing catching his breath and feeling relaxed, you fighting back the urge to lick your palm in front of yixing.
"thank you... thank you so much."
you laughed, getting your hand out of his pants and wiping it off on its fabric - ugh, what a waste.
"try to get some rest now, okay?", you said and leaned in to kiss your boyfriend's cheek.
let's just say yixing did finally get some sleep for the rest of the flight.

Tumblr media
summary: the title says it all
genre: fluff
Loud. That’s what it was. SM Entertainment’s greatest hits played loud and clear on the speakers over the hot summer night. The sweaty bodies of the artists dancing on the stage were no match to the crowd below, most of them screaming their hearts out.
You were also part of the fun, dancing next to your long-time boyfriend, EXO’s Lay. After ten years in the entertainment industry, the general public had taken warmly to him dating, with another idol the public loved very much, aka, you. Thus, you two weren’t afraid to show PDA outside. This show was no exception.
EXO’s iconic song, Growl, came on. Hours of dancing in the living room with Yixing had prepped you for this moment, dancing the song with all the balance in the world.
This event was a place to mingle with other artists, and oh, mingle you did. You shared a microphone with Taeyeon, danced in sync with Eunhyuk, and talked and had fun with all sorts of people.
The music suddenly came to a halt, even accompanied by a freeze-frame. As quick as lightning, everyone that was on the stage suddenly ran off to who knows where. You were about to join them when somebody grabbed your hand from behind. Blinding lights shone from above, and you realized that it was a spotlight. The scream of the fans also alerted you that they didn’t know this was going to happen.
“Let go!” you said, to the unknown person behind you. As you turned back, you realized it was Yixing. He smiled at you with his soft brown eyes. Gently, he put your hands in his.
“It’s okay, (Y/N),” he said tenderly. His mic was on, and the fans instantly went wild. You shot him a confused look and looked down to his hands, that were holding yours in his soft touch.
As light as a feather, he guided you along to the center of the stage, where a grand piano was waiting. A white, wooden chair was in the middle of the stage, right in front of the piano.
“Yixing, what-” you asked, before being cut off by a finger to your lips. You wanted to ask more, but you remembered that this was streaming live, in front of thousands of fans, and even more possibly streaming around the world. Yixing really did have guts.
Yixing beckoned you to sit on the chair. He left and sat on the chair reserved for the grand piano. Raising his hands up dramatically, he played a soft note on the piano, transitioning into a melody you knew all too well.
Hello angel, you’re like a painting You’re all I see when I look to the skies City street lights, even if the lights go out
The fans began to join in, Yixing’s singing drowning in the sea of voices that sang the soft melody. Even so, your boyfriend's distinct voice with the help of the microphone kept it aloft among the other voices.
I keep laughing for some reason every night Even when I close my eyes, I can’t sleep I spend the entire night with thoughts of you Your sparkling smile lets me breathe
Yixing mentioned a surprise earlier while you were dancing the night away, but currently, you didn’t know what it was for. Your birthday wasn’t until next month, your anniversary had passed.
Even the brightest jewel in heaven For sure couldn’t be brighter than you Don’t drift away from me Baby won’t you stay I’ll love only you forever
Yixing ended the song with a last flourish of the notes. Fans cheered loudly at the song that had just ended. Like a swan, he stood up and walked carefully over to you. He wagged two fingers at you, asking you to stand up.
Pointing his microphone to his mouth, he said, “I’ve written thousands of lyrics for songs before, so I thought this would be easy, but when faced with the most beautiful woman, it’s not.” He said it so nonchalantly that the audience began to laugh along with him.
“What would be easy?” you asked him. Your thoughts were swimming around in your head, combined with your sore muscles from dancing around earlier.
“This.”
He knelt down carefully. Ah, you thought. So this is the surprise. Not knowing what to do, you covered your mouth in shock as Yixing showed you a small, black velvet box.
Your tears turned the light and the fans all around you into kaleidoscopes of color, but you quickly blinked away the tears to look at your beloved.
“The first time we met, I remember you as a trainee back in China and thinking that your moves weren’t sharp enough, but your golden voice made up for it. The first time we performed together, I remember all of the crowd chanting our names together. To this day, I still remember the makeup style you used and the exact clothes you wore.”
The audience had fallen silent.
“And the first time I asked you to be my girlfriend, you laughed at me, and said yes.” The audience laughed with him. “When the media found out, I was so afraid, but I remember you by my side, and comforting me until it died down.”
Yixing looked up at you. “And now I ask you to stay by my side, forever, until death do we part. So, baobei. Will you marry me?”
The stadium instantly erupted in cheers. Playing the role of the blushing bride, you let out even more tears and nodded your head vigorously. Who couldn’t say yes to their baobei, especially when he asked like this?
Smiling, Yixing rose slowly and enveloped you in a kiss.

The twelfth chime-Yixing
From the Halloween advent calendar🎃
Zhang Yixing x general!reader
Vampire!AU
Warnings:blood,spooky content,supernatural creatures
If sensitive,please,don’t read
Tumblr media
Bong….
You turned the corner of the living room, tripping on a ripped carpet and falling on the ground
Bong…
You stood up and cleaned your hands, blood was staining your palm as you had cut yourself with a wooden piece coming out from a broken beam of the floor
Bong…
Clunk…clunk…clunk…
He was getting closer, you had no time
Bong…
You looked at the pendulum clock, catching your breath before running towards the entrance of the mansion. You grabbed the door handle and tried to open the door, but, suddenly it was locked.
How could it be possible? That was the way you had used to get inside that dusty building!
Bong…
Clunk…clunk…clunk…
He was getting closer, you had no time
Bong…
You turned around, crossing the hall to reach the marble stairway:it was black, cold, stained by the blood of your hand that was leaving prints everywhere
Bong…
Your steps resonated through muffled sounds while your breath was short:you didn’t know where those stairs were leading you,but you had no other way to escape him
Bong…
Clunk…clunk…clunk…
He was getting closer, you had no time
You turned around, frightened, but you couldn’t see him anywhere. You could only hear him close:t was freaking you out
Bong…
Once you reached the second floor different doors appeared in front of your eyes. The rooms hidden by them were obviously unknown to you, but anywhere was better than waiting for him to kill you in that ancient hall with cracked pots and the smell of death in the air
Bong…
While holding back your tears, you walked a few steps deeper into the corridor, hiding in a random room
Bong…
Clunk…clunk…clunk…
He was getting closer, you had no time
You hid under the white fabric covering the forniture, hoping that he wouldn’t find you,but you were wrong…how could you not be? That was his house after all,his hell, and he every corner of that mansion
Clunk…clunk…clunk…
Creak…
He was there,he was in the room with you now.
Scared, you closed your eyes and held your breath, bringing your hands to your mouth. You wanted to become small,so small to disappear, but you knew you weren’t Alice and that mansion wasn’t Wonderland
Clunk…clunk…clunk…
“Time out little mouse, the cat is here” he talked. His voice was husky and sharp,as sharp as broken glass
Swoosh…
The smelly air hit you skin, metaphorically scratching you,so you opened your eyes just to see him standing still in front of you. The left edge of his lips lifted up in a devilish smirk.
“Please…” you talked in a breath of sound, trying to beg him to let you live, but he didn’t listen;he grabbed you and dragged you out from your hiding place
“It won’t hurt…not too much at least” he said.
You gulped as you watched his eyes turn into a bloody red and his fangs sharpen from behind his purplish, cold lips
Bong…
“Twelve chimes. The cat has won the final round” those were Yixing’s last words before sinking his fangs in your neck and putting you to sleep once forever

The Prince of Romance~
Genre: Fluff and the vague idea of smut but not really
Characters: Yixing/You
Word Count: 11,045 characters
Note: My second time ever writing a story! Why is it always when I am extremely sleep deprived that I get inspired? I am sick and only got four hours of sleep, I just woke up 3 minutes ago and said “....You know who needs a story? Yixing.” Anyways...Here’s Wonderwall.
Tumblr media
Summary: Finally! After several long and grueling months, Yixing finds time in his busy schedule to take a flight back to South Korea and pay you a little visit, but the catch is, he never comes empty handed.
Ah, the very first day of August. You would never admit it to anybody, but you were almost relieved that summer was close to an end. It felt like a decade since you had seen rain and any other color than burnt-grass-yellow and the green of the trees. With a soft sigh, you made your way down the sidewalk with your trusty companion, Cinnamon, on the end of a leash. Yixing had adopted Cinnamon for you as a surprise three birthdays ago. He told you Cinnamon would always be there to keep you company during the months that he couldn’t, and this dog formed space in your heart just as deep as the one Yixing had, almost instantly.
You took her earlier in the morning with you to run your errands and now you two were on your daily walk, as always. Your eyes glanced down at the sweet girl and almost as if she could sense your thoughts, she turned her head up to look at you while continuing onward. Instantly a large smile formed on your lips and if it were possible, you were sure her panting could be considered one as well.
Deciding to wrap up your walk in this annoyingly blisteringly hot afternoon, you took a U-turn around your usual little bakery shop on the corner of the main road and began to head back home. A soft thoughtful frown found its place on your lips. You knew Yixing was currently in South Korea. Not only was it all over the news as it always was, but during one of your usual phone calls before bed, he let you know he would be coming to take care of some work-related business. It wasn’t fair that the one time he was able to make it back to South Korea, he was too busy and only staying for a day or two. At least, that is what you thought.
In reality, Yixing was already very busy setting up a sweet surprise for you at your place with the spare key you had given him. He knew your schedule by heart and knew just when to show up and how long he would have to get this done, give or take a few minutes. He put the finishing touches in just in time, a few minutes to spare to fix anything if he needed to. The corner of his lips pulled up into a soft grin as he stood back and examined his work. Everyone knew Yixing to be an extremely hard worker, unyielding and with endless stamina. You meant just as much to him as his job did and he put every single ounce of effort that he did into his work, into his relationship with you. He cleared his throat and rubbed his hands together in a slow, anxious motion. Now all that was left was to wait for you.
Finally reaching the door to your apartment, you pulled your keys out of your pocket and as you fumbled to find the right key, Cinnamon froze and sniffed at the crack under the front door before her ears perked up and her tail began wagging at lightening speed. “...Did I leave food out or something? What is it, girl?” Of course she didn’t answer. She was a dog. With a chuckle, you stuck the key into the lock and turned it, cracking the door open and the first thing to hit you was the smell of your favorite candles, tropical fruit and lemongrass. Once the door fully pushed open, you were greeted with what was probably the most beautiful sight you had ever laid eyes on.
Yixing was standing there in a soft pink toned button-up shirt, the top two buttons undone and the cuffs rolled all the way up to his elbows to show off his toned forearms. His hair was styled back loosely and in his hands was an absolutely enormous bouquet of twenty-four deep red roses. He wore that earth-shatteringly bright smile on his soft lips, his deeps dimples as prevalent as ever. Cinnamon was jumping all over him in wild excitement and he leaned down to pet her with his free hand, laughing.
As beautiful as Yixing was, the sight behind him was equally as beautiful. The living room had candles spread throughout it and even more flowers, notably your favorite types, in beautiful intricate vases all around. He knew how much you loved flowers and how happy they made your day, and happy was what he always wanted you to be. The floor had rose petals that were delicately scattered to lead to your table, which now had plates and silverware set up.
Tears welled up in your eyes as they turned back to focus on Yixing in front of you, his big bright smile still there just as it had been the moment you walked in. Immediately, you flung yourself into his arms. Mainly because you missed him more than life itself, but also a small percent of you didn’t want him to see you cry from how much this affected you. His strong arms and warm chest immediately encased you in a loving embrace, the large bouquet easily supported on one hand. Laughed bubbled up from his chest as he held your waist with one arm and guided you over to the kitchen counter in a romantic spin, his free hand placing the roses in a large vase that had already been set up. He had clearly thought a lot about this.
Once both of his hands were finally free, he used the free one to rest his fingers under your chin to tenderly tilt your head up to meet his eyes. “Good afternoon, Baobei, I missed you so much.” His voice was soft but you heard his smile in it. Your lips trembled and you let out a shaky laugh, unsure of what to say first out of the many things you had in mind. You chose to lead with the question of the hour. “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming, Yixing?” He let out a playful laugh. “Well that would have ruined the surprise, of course!” He leaned forward and his lips softly met your forehead. “Besides, I needed you away so I could set all of this up. I know you miss your home-foods, so I tried my best to make Lasagna! It is baking in the oven and still has a ways to go” He paused for a moment, before pecking your forehead once more and releasing you. “I have one more gift for you, too. Wait here!”
As Yixing excitedly rushed off to the bedroom, you stood there in shock, laughter masking your intense need to cry at the overwhelming feelings in your chest. Not only had your boyfriend set up all of your favorite flowers and bought you a twenty-four set bouquet of roses, lit candles and decorated the floors with petals, but he also was cooking one of your favorite meals AND had another present on top of that? He was too much. He was an absolute gentleman and you wondered exactly how you got so lucky.
While you were busy trying to answer all of the questions in your head, Yixing rushed back in with an elongated wrapped box in his hands and smiled brightly. “Let me open it for you.” You gave him a hesitant nod and a shocked chuckle slipped out at his child-like demeanor. Yixing’s long fingers tugged at the ribbons and pulled them open before smoothly removing the lid from the box. Your eyes lit up like stars, this time you couldn’t stop the tears from spilling down your cheeks. Inside of the box was a silver necklace with a beautiful circular pendant, the inner part of the pendant was made up of a bunch of tiny stars with small glittering diamonds in them. He had always called you “The most beautiful star to light up my sky” when he was feeling extra affectionate, and this was clearly a reference.
Your teary eyes quickly raised up to his as he was already removing it from the box and stepping around you to put it on. “Yixing, wait, this is too much!..” This is a conversation you two had often and he brushed it off easily, his gentle fingers brushing your hair to one side of your shoulder as he clipped the necklace in place. “Baobei.. I am not frivolously spending, this gift came deep from my heart and I took a long time to think about it. Please trust me... I love you”
The last words were whispered against the top of your shoulder moments before his lips met it, placing a tender kiss to the bare skin there. Your cheeks immediately flushed a soft red tone and you tried to turn your head to catch his eye, but he just grinned against your skin before continuing to trail soft kisses up your neck at an excruciatingly slow rate. His hands rested in a careful yet firm grip on your hips as his breath tickled you. Reaching your jaw, he slowly leaned up give your earlobe a gentle nip, simultaneously giving your waist a gentle tug against himself. Just when you thought you were going to lose it, he whispered in your ear. “We still have at least forty-five minutes before the lasagna is ready.”
A groan of distress escaped your lips before you gave in and turned around in his arms, curling your own around his shoulders before leaping up to wrap your legs around his waist. His arms quickly reached down to support you, hands on resting on your rear before he pinned your back to the wall and gazed into your eyes with that intense stare he seemed to have mastered. He made you weak. He wasn’t one to tease, though, and he leaned in and pressed his soft plush lips against yours in a deep kiss, your lips locking with his immediately in heated passion. Your fingers raised up to brush through his soft hair and also to pull him closer to you; this intimacy had been desperately needed for months on months and he was finally all yours again. Your heart was practically doing flips in your chest.
Yixing’s fingers trailed their way up under your dress, softly rubbing up your outer thigh. The sensations he sent through your body were driving you crazy and you deepened the kiss, almost aggressively leaning in to it in an attempt to gain some sort of control back. You gave a nip at your boyfriend’s lower lip before giving it an ever-so-gentle tug. After releasing it, your fingers gripping in his hair and tugging his head back. You leaned down before he could react, a fire in your eyes a your lips attached to his neck, giving it a bite before sucking on the sensitive skin there. Your eyes fluttered shut as you focused your attention on your boyfriend’s neck, the only hint that you were affecting him was his grip on your ass tightening and you felt his body tense up against yours, the occasional stuttered exhale escaping his lips.
After what felt like forever, you leaned up to meet his eyes, your tongue subconsciously gliding over your lower lip. The moment your eyes met his, you froze and your eyes widened. The expression on his face was a dangerous one. His eyes were dark and his jaw was clenched shut, you could almost see it twitch. “...Y-yixing.. Uh..” Before you could finish, he yanked the both of you away from the wall and carried you off to the bedroom, tossing you onto to bed. Even as he tossed you, he was careful about it. Ever the gentleman that he was. He made he way onto the bed and hovered over your, eyes staring into yours before he quickly pushed the hem of your dress up and moved down, forcing your legs apart before giving a soft kiss to the skin on your inner thigh. The kiss was followed by a nibble, causing you to let out a surprised squeak. Looking down at Yixing, you saw his eyes lock with yours once more, a look of warning. His fingers hooked under the top of your underwear and you could tell that the both of you were about to forget all about the lasagna in the oven. Good thing you liked yours slightly burnt.

You remember the first time you saw him behind the red veil covering your face: terrified of the Lotus King whose horrifying stories you had only heard of from the people around you. His eyebrows were drawn in a subtle scowl, yet his face was too handsome and young for a man ruling all of the country under solid command. He was ruthless and never gave second chances, nobody dared question him for they would perish.
You knew better, most of the loyalty he was shown was out of fear, yet behind closed doors people would say bitter words and curse him. You knew and understood them, for his cruelty could always go too far when it came to imperial matters, but you also tried to understand him. Ruling a country with an iron clad fist was the only way to ensure the people’s safety from power hungry enemies. Deep inside he wasn’t the devil people made him to be; he was kind and thoughtful, he wrote poems, played music on the guqin and read books when he wasn’t attending formal meetings with his war generals. With him, there was always more than would meet anybody’s eye than yours.
The impassible face he wore for the public was unknown to you when you were in his arms, just the two of you in each other’s presence. Alone at night, the Lotus King would shed his black clothes and his duties to welcome the warmth of your body, relish in the peace and calm of your love with soft gasps escaping your lips, wet kisses trailing down your collarbone as you wrapped your arms around his shoulders to pull him closer to you. Yixing was incredibly skilled at making you chant his name in the night, candlelit chambers until the flames burnt out.
There was nothing else he loved more than he loved you, not even the throne he sat on, although he would never admit to that. Your marriage was never meant to be anything more than a formal relationship; his righthand general had a daughter and Yixing needed to establish stronger ties and secure a future generation to the throne, if anything, you were a means to an end. Somewhere along the line of your relationship, he got charmed by your gentle nature. He showed you that you don’t have to be afraid of him as everybody else are, for he will never hurt you.
You stirred in your sleep under the bedsheet, eyelids fluttering open as your fought slumber to welcome the moonlight that poured into your chambers. It wasn’t unusual for you to wake up alone without the king lying beside you, he had his own room across from yours, yet when you sat up in bed, you were surprised to find him sat on his knees on the balcony, back facing you. The sliding doors to the terrace were wide open; the night sky was clear of any clouds, giving room to the moon and stars to shine bright. As you rose from the bed and silently touched the floor with the tips of your toes, goosebumps appeared on your skin. You wrapped the bare skin of your body with the silk sheets before making your way towards Yixing.
His eyes were closed as he was soaking in the moonlight, his chest was still exposed while his hanfu loosely hugged his body. He didn’t startle when you wrapped your arms around him, he heard the tail of the bedsheets softly dragging on the wooden floor towards him. If anybody were sent to assassinate the ruthless Lotus King, they would need to be more silent than that.
You kneeled behind him and placed your chin on top of his right shoulder, sighing with glee before placing a chaste kiss under his ear. “You’ll catch a cold,” you whispered as you tightened your embrace, thus pulling the sheets tighter around him.
His dark eyes found yours and the corners of his lips lifted in a playful mockery. “My Queen is wearing nothing but her bedsheets, shouldn’t I be more worried about you catching a cold?” Yixing skillfully turned his torso to fully face you and wrapped his arms around your waist, then pulled your naked frame flush against his chest. His playfulness was gone after a short moment, his expression looked serious and your heartbeat picked up pace as a chill ran down your spine. “Enemy troops are marching from the western borders, they’ll be here in a couple of weeks.”
You mouth fell agape and your body went limp in his arms, too stunned to utter any word of disbelief. You always knew it was bound to happen; many opposed the Lotus King’s rule and many more wanted control over his domains, like voracious and rabid dogs fighting for a bone. They knew they couldn’t face him alone, for many had tried and failed. You began shaking your head and blinking rapidly, unsure of what to say. “What do we- we need to retaliate-”
“No.” His dry answer made you shut your mouth immediately. He gave you a reassuring stroke on the back with the palm of his hand and kissed your chest, right where your heart should be. “I need you to leave Lotus Palace and take refuge with your maids and some guards in the Dragon’s temple up the mountains. The monks will keep you safe.”
“No!” It was your turn to protest, not as calm as he spoke, you sounded more agitated and rightfully so. The look on his face softened when he saw tears threatening to spill from your eyes. “I’m not leaving you. No-”
“My precious Jade,” Yixing called you by the nickname he lovingly gave. “You will be safe far away from-”
“I’m pregnant.” You blurted out and this time around he was the one left speechless. You were shaking in his arms despite his best effort to keep you warm with his own body heat. You had known for a while that you were expecting your first child and were absolutely terrified of telling anybody at court, let alone your husband. You didn’t want his enemies to attempt and make him vulnerable by targeting you. You caressed his cheeks with the tips of your fingers before you cupped them gently and repeated yourself. “I’m pregnant, Yixing, and I feel the safer next to you.”
There was a whirlwind of emotions in his chest, he couldn’t pinpoint the strongest one, so he did what he does best and locked everything up to speak with a clearer mind. “I love you, but my word is final. You will go to the Dragon’s temple.” You couldn’t help but feel defeated so you just nodded in understanding. It was foolish of you to ask to stay, you would only burden him with your useless presence. He didn’t give you any more time to dwell on your thoughts as he kissed you softly to get your attention back on him. “In the midst of chaos you brought me so much joy. There’s no one more precious than you, and I will give my life to protect what I love. Do you understand that, Jade?”
“Yes,” you whispered then gave him a quick punch on the shoulder, which barely did anything to hurt him but he still feigned pain and laughed. “Don’t die, Lotus King, you need to be there when I give life to our child.”
“Yes, my Queen, anything that you wish for.”
