So… apparently some people are complaining about Zoé "not being a good queer representation"?
Honestly, I don’t really see why… To me the way it was made is very good. And it was coherent with her character, it’s not like the writers randomly choose one character of the show and decided they were gay…
Her backstory is about her not being able to express who she really is, in fear of people rejecting her true self. You know, like a closeted teen would. She was also harassed by her former schoolmates for being "different"
It’s not like her crush for Marinette comes from nowhere either. Their first encounter is similar to a classic "love at first sight" type of scene.
It also makes sense why Zoé would fall in love with Marinette. She was always friendly and kind to her, you can see they have a lot of complicity together.
Before Adoration, Zoé is shown to be particularly attentive about Marinette, and she says to her that she "knows how complicated love can be"
Also this scene with Scarabella. Like yes it’s obvious she likes girls
The love confession in itself is beautiful. It’s sweet, it’s elegant, and it teaches an important lessons to kids: that you should always express your feelings and shouldn’t be ashamed of them. I know some fans would’ve preferred Zoé to directly tell Marinette that she loves her, but honestly this moment of her just silently looking at Marinette with bright eyes is great in its own
Marinette is also great in this scene. She’s surprised, but she’s empathetic and she understands that it must’ve been hard for her friend to confess to her. She’s doesn’t reject her in a mocking or insensitive manner because the feelings aren’t mutual, instead she’s supportive of Zoé. And the next episode shows them acting normally as friends. Marinette knows Zoé has a crush on her, and even if her feelings are one-sided, they still love each other in a different way.
Personally I think it’s a good queer representation
And who knows? Maybe Zoé will have a girlfriend in the next season. We’ll have to wait to find out. But I’m perfectly satisfied with her character as it is now
I just had a thought and y'all need to listen to me.
Arthur Pendragon and Adrien Agreste? Same person.
Let me state the facts:
1. Both have bitter dads which are rich and respected.
2. Both of their dads have done the horrible things they've done as a form of revenge for their blonde, dead wife.
3. Both Dads targeting people with powers.
4. Both Adrien and Arthur practice a form of martial arts with swords. (Fencing, sword fighting)
5. Both have blonde hair and light eyes from their late mother.
6. Both upper class and both falling in love with a dark haired, blue eyed person from a low 'rank' (which btw has powers that they aren't aware of.)
7. Both most popular ships at both shows aren't (yet) canon.
8. Both turning into some kind of animals (donkey Arthur, cat noir)
9. Both of their love interests (Gwen,Merlin, Marinette) are shipped with other slightly long-haired men. (Luka, Lancelot,Gwaine) & Other girls that the fandom loves. (Freya,Gwen,Morgana,Zoe)
Anyways. ADRIEN AND ARTHUR ARE THE SAME PERSON CONFIRMED??
I was gonna have this go into early access, but I just can't hold this away from y'all. I love her too much not to share.
Bloody Bug, Outlaw
Surprise, mother fuckers! I present Zoe Lee as Outlaw for Bloody Bug. Y'all can thank an anon who left an ask that reminded me of the eagle.
I really love this design. The cowboy punk outlaw aesthetic. The simple coloring that blends well with the aesthetic and the animal. All of it paired with the many fucking ideas I have for this bitch. Oh! I can't fucking wait for her introduction into Bloody Bug. By far my favorite design yet.
If you could remove one character from miraculous who's leaving?
Definitely Zoe! I think she could have been a great character for helping Chloe in a possible redemption arc, but the potential I saw in her just never came to fruition. Personally I don’t think she adds much to the story except for being a replacement for Chloe’s queen bee, and I think that’s a little disappointing.
Back with Alix and Zoe I like to think by the time Zoe shows up Chloe is much nicer and they know each other’s identities and just have little girls days with pollen
What would you think if Chloe and Audrey heard rumours about the way they were going to be portrayed in Astruc’s new movie, so they went back to Paris in an unsuccessful attempt to stop the movie from being completed? Then an evilized villain (maybe a wishmaker-like villain or maybe even a villain that's unrelated to the butterfly miraculous) caused Chloe and Zoe to switch bodies somehow, and nobody fully understands what's going on, so Zoe (in Chloe's body) is taken by Audrey back to New York, despite Zoe desperately trying to explain things. But Chloe enters a fugue state (heavily due to trauma caused by the neglect of her parents) and genuinely thinks she's Zoe, and is even able to recall many of the things Zoe did due to being in Zoe's body. The class thinks “Zoe's” change in behavior is due to the psychological effects of method acting, since “Zoe” is playing Chloe in Astruc's new movie, but they gradually convince “Zoe” to let them help her relearn how to be “herself” again. Meanwhile, in New York, Zoe is trying to get back to Paris, but when she gets there, “Zoe” thinks she’s there to try to hurt Marinette.
Eventually, after listening to “Chloe”, Marinette starts to suspect that “Chloe” might be telling the truth, so she decides that she must test “Chloe” and “Zoe”. She fakes being in danger to see how they react. “Zoe” reacts slightly faster than “Chloe”, so Marinette comes to the conclusion that “Chloe” is lying and that “Chloe” has an evil and manipulative plan. Marinette thinks that “Chloe” must have picked up a few tricks from Lila, because she thinks no version of Chloe could possibly react faster than Zoe when it comes to protecting her. So Audrey takes “Zoe” back to New York again to “correct” her after “Zoe” fails to convince anyone of the truth.
10 years later, “Zoe” gets seriously injured after fighting a villain when Ladybug isn’t around, which causes “Zoe” to not have long to live. Then Ladybug accidentally stumbles upon the truth about “Zoe” while trying to help “Zoe” using magical powers. Ladybug decides that the moral thing to do is to switch Chloe and Zoe back to their original bodies. Once Zoe gets her body back, she blames Chloe for her impending death and for leaving her with 10 years of loneliness, while Chloe got off scot-free. When Lila gets defeated, Zoe steals the Butterfly Miraculous to get her hands on Ladybug and Catnoir’s miraculouses, hoping to “make things right”. Zoe gets defeated by the heroes (including Chloe, who has gotten her memories back) and Ladybug manages to cure Zoe’s injuries.
My first reaction was *speechless*
My second reaction was “OMG SMEXY ADULT VILLAINESS WHO HAPPENS TO BE PART OF MIRACULOUS AND IS A LESBIAN!!!”
Ignore my bad butterfly miraculous Zoe design, her main design is her adult form.
Is there a fanfic for this??
Istg this is so great omg omg omg *screams*
I Imagine the villain being a porcelain villain, their attacks having a slow scaring effect similar to Gabriel’s cataclysmed arm. So the cracks grow slowly until she shatters.
Also she gives me wine drinking young adult woman person.
“...probably should have come during the winter,” she mused. “In hindsight, choosing the hottest time of the year for tourists wasn’t my best decision but like… Spur-of-the-moment decisions aren’t really known for being particularly thought out are they?”
“They’re not, are they?” she heard a familiar voice, and her head shot to her right to see her old schoolgirl crush on the beach with her. Marinette was lying back on a fold-out chair. The now young woman still looked incredibly… Well, she used to just look plain cute but now a few years into adulthood she looked gorgeous.
Zoe takes a trip to Italy, and as it turns out so has Marinette. Old feelings return, ones Zoe had never quite gotten over and maybe this time she wonders if she has a chance with the heroine...
