This will be different

Yesterday, I had my very first university event. But instead of dressing up and heading to campus, I dusted off my webcam and plucked myself in front of my computer screen.

Now, before you ask, no, I didn't forget to put on pants, I just made it glow in the dark PJs. It was a Meet&Greet for my program, and while not everyone involved was part of my class, I'm thrilled to be studying with this amazing group of people for the next 3.5 years.

I'm studying marketing, which is my passion, and this program includes a mix of academic coursework and an unpaid internship. It's a lot to take on, but I'm ready for the challenge. Unfortunately, I managed to catch a cold a week before classes start. I know, right? Murphy's Law strikes again. But I'm determined to push through and make the most of this experience, even if it means attending classes from the comfort of my own bed.

On top of my studies, I also have a side job to make ends meet. It's not easy, but I'm determined to make it work. 

So, as I prepare for my first official day of classes on Monday, I can't help feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. But I'm ready to dive in and embrace this journey with open arms.

idk how much clearer i can make "i cannot talk to people" to my dad bc no matter how much i try to express the fact that it either makes me cry or makes my throat close up to the point that i can barely get words out + my tongue feels glued to the roof of my mouth he just tells me i'm "thinking about it wrong" and that THAT'S the problem like.... this is not a voluntary reaction. "it's over zoom so it's fine" the inperson-ness is not the issue i started crying doing a customer service chat yesterday i literally don't know how to make you understand🧍🏻‍♀️

It’s rough having to study/analyze something that shows great technical skill (camera movements, shot choices, editing, etc.) but whose storytelling and tone is absolutely odious.

TL:DR I had to yet again watch and discuss the Mad Men pilot with film majors.

Guys my favourite part of having @goodnotesapp #goodnotes5 is that I can annotate alllllll over the power points my profs give. . . I will write on them during class and when I am doing review work later, can continue to annotate on them. I also love that I can put extra pages and import pages into the doc! I can put a diagram off of google or @nursing.com_ directly in my notes to use! . . GoodNotes and my iPad are making e-learning significantly easier and a better experience!
