“Hi Phil.” Techno’s tone was deadpan. “Long time no see.”

“I think we’re from your future!” Kristin contributed. “Hi.” She smiled at him, a little apologetic. This Phil looked so young and uncertain, she wanted to squish his cheeks. "Sorry."

oh yeah, absolutely! there's so much lyrically to associate with them. my mind immediately goes to the antartic empire with this one, but honestly it could also be them through every smp too. good stuff.

do you have any like headcanons for this or???

OKAY YES. i have thought out a lot of their backstory AND connected it to the rest of my personal hcs on what dsmp sbi is like. it really depends on whether or not youre looking at it as requited or unrequited, personally i like unrequited better cuz its more interesting. the real reason i think philza would not love techno back in the way techno wants him to is bc philza will never ever see him as anything other than his student/friend. and also he is straight but mostly the first thing.

So so so i'd techno met phil when he was seventeen ish, to train under him. i think wilbur and techno are competitive between each other. both fight for phil’s approval, just for very different reasons. wilbur, because he was still trying to get his dad to not hate him. techno, because... well, he doesn’t understand why, but he really really really wants phil to like him, to think he’s cool and impressive, okay?????? (it doesn’t take him long to figure out what his feelings really mean.)

in techno, phil sees a prodigy, something like the son he never had. i mean, he has sons, just... not any like techno. technoblade is the poster child of survival: unmatchable in combat, a natural at potion-making, shows genuine interest in life outside of a sheltered home. phil is a #SHOOTER4TECHNO, through and through. 

they’ve kept close for however many years it’s been since wilbur+tommy+tubbo left the family. if you want smpearth to be part of the canon, this gap can be filled with the antarctic empire thing. also, i don’t know where this fits into the timeline, but at some point, techno decides to grow his hair out and dye it pink. also, i don’t know how, but it DOES HAVE TO DO with him being a gay anarchist.

technoblade is a very, very stoic man. he will tell never phil how he feels, not only because he knows phil doesn’t feel the same way, but because it’s just not something he’d do. besides, techno is constantly showing phil how much he loves him. techno will do everything for him: the most annoying chores, the most labor intensive-jobs, the mob-killing, the bee-keeping, etc... technoblade jokes about how phil’s getting older, how he should take care of himself and sit down for a while, insisting he rests. phil doesn’t protest (who would?), and when he turns his back to the other, techno closes his eyes and sighs. of all the theories and philosophies they’ve read together, one line rings truest to techno. plato was right— love is a serious mental illness.

He scans the road—driveway, really—that the van came in on, but there’s nothing there. Maybe beh- THUNK Technoblade whips back around, and- “Shit,” he whispers. “Lark, shit, Jackdaw’s here.” Jackdaw. The city’s most feared criminal. Hell, villain. He’s not exactly low-profile, not in the circles Techno’s in. Not in most circles. --- Or, Technoblade stumbles into something he really shouldn't have seen, and makes several decisions he really shouldn't have made.

Headcanon that techno sleeps like the dead, but phil wakes up easily-- but phil also goes back to sleep easily (when they're safely in their house). This leads to regular instances when techno is moving or getting out of bed and phil grumbles at him sleepily and then pulls the blankets around himself and falls back asleep. Which Techno finds cute but he's not gonna kiss him and wake him up again, phil would not be pleased (phil would not mind it SO much).
