Dream Job: I don't know? I really want to be a Youth Librarian, but I'd need an MLIS for that. But I also want to be an SLP for kids but I hate adults (why do adults think they can disagree with a professional?) and also I want to be a Forensic Anthropologist cause BONES (But if I ever had to stand witness I would lose my marbles. again. I hate adults. and I'm 25) but also if I could just…not work and build my little farm and never have to live in society again I would (can you tell I'm an INTJ?)

Movie/Book That Describes Me The Most: I'm honestly not sure on a deep meaningful level but the Clue movie is the level of chaos I aspire to on a daily basis

Favorite Author: I don't know…? I grew up reading a lot of Brandon Mull (Fablehaven series) and Margaret Peterson Haddix (Shadow Children series and Missing series) on repeat and now as an adult I struggle to read physical books (thanks school…really messed up my relationship with reading)

Random Fact: I probably have EDS but I don't have a diagnosis, so all my joints pop all the time and I'm essentially pop rocks. My partner hates the sound of bones popping so that's fun, especially when I am compulsively popping and can't stop.

Things I'm Currently Obsessed With: Genshin Impact (as always since I started playing in 2021) but mainly with Albedo since he'll be coming back tomorrow (3/12) and I can finally get him! I can GET HIM!! And Itto's weapon!!! I'll finally have my geo team!!!! Albedo-Itto-Kokomi-Gorou!!!!!

February Fanfic Recap

Once again I am LATE but honestly what is new I'm so bad at life lol

So I didn't really read over the month of February - my mental health plummeted so I lost myself in videogames (Genshin, Minecrraft, BG3) instead of fanfic BUT I did read a little.

NOTE: My word count isn't accurate cause I'd make it through like half a chapter of something then get bored (not the authors fault) and just didn't get back to it so I apologize

I read 11,782 words in the month of February, probably more like 15,000 but those words aren't counted hahahaha-

And this number came from 1 fic that I decided to finish since I read most of it in December then got scared of the ending-

But ANYWAY this fic was an original work, male oc/male oc, and rated explicit (shhhh)

While I do like me a good explicit fic let me just say I really liked the story and the dynamic between the two main characters and just the world this author created in general (this fic has a whopping 219,191 words over 34 chapters so of course we have character development and cute fluff)

I did also read a little bit from a Dragon Age: Inquisition fanfic with a Male Lavellan Inquisitor/Dorian Pavus ship but that fic I'm reading through VERY VERY SLOWLY cause its a whopping 657,685 words over 44 chapters and it's not even completed (tho the last update was almost a year ago so idk if the author will continue it but we will see)

But anyway, that's all I have for you for now folks! Hopefully I'll read more over the month of March! (we are over a week in and I haven't read anything so we will see fyghkj)

some people think writers are so eloquent and good with words, but the reality is that we can sit there with our fingers on the keyboard going, “what’s the word for non-sunlight lighting? Like, fake lighting?” and for ten minutes, all our brain will supply is “unofficial”, and we know that’s not the right word, but it’s the only word we can come up with…until finally it’s like our face got smashed into a brick wall and we remember the word we want is “artificial”.

Fanfic Post

OKAY so I MEANT to do this on February 1st and start like a log of how many words I've read each month from fanfictions BUT I'm a horrible human being and bad at life so have it three days late-

NOTE: This is not an accurate number since two fics are not counted in the overall wordcount and stats due to them being long and me only being like a few chapters in and too lazy to do the math-

So over the month of January I read 252,256 words over 15 fics and 2 fandoms

10 of those fics were from Criminal Minds (ngl this fandom hit me like a truck and I was not prepared to ever be reading fics from this fandom) and the other 5 were Danny Phantom/Batfamily crossover fics

8 of them were oneshots and all 8 of those were from Criminal Minds

8 of them were ship fics and all 8 were of Derek Morgan/Spencer Reid

The shortest fic I read clocked in at 1,531 words and was a Criminal Minds ship fic

The longest fic I read clocked in at 105,861 words and was a Danny Phantom/Batfamily fic that is incomplete so that's fun lol (we don't talk about the 703,484 word fic that I got 142,241 words into last year and plan on finishing this year :p)

Yeah totally! I assume this is the same anon from last time <3

It's fun to seek out writers who do the same type of stuff as you, but it's also fun to just connect with people! And hearing about other genres and the like can be eye-opening for your own work :>

I would recommend checking out @moon-and-seraph and @writeblrgarden, as these are big communities that connect a lot of people (I know moon-and-seraph have a directory of writeblr blogs, in fact!)

Other than those groups, here are some people I follow/am friends with that I enjoy seeing on my dash! - @worldsfromhoney - BEE is super friendly, they're one of the first people I started talking to when I joined writeblr, and I love their blog very much!! - @halleyuhm - I think Halley is very cool and I love her wips!! Her blog is also just very pretty... - @the-grim-and-sanguine and @planets-and-prose - Concerned and Ten are partners and I love interacting with them both! They've both got super cool stories they're working on!!! (You're gonna hear me say this a lot, I think everyone's stories are super cool lmao.) - @k-v-briarwood - Kaden is a very cool and wonderful writer, and also super friendly (and very active! I feel like I see him every day lmao) - @saintedseraph - Seraph is one of the mods of moon-and-seraph and she's so nice!!! They're also very good at keeping active and community stuff, both through moon-and-seraph and their own blog! - @moondust-bard - Luna is the other mod of moon-and-seraph, and is also so wonderful! In addition to their great writing, they're also a great artist!!!

I finally got around to that WIP tag game and I’m intrigued by your WIP “Experiments 8, 13, 27, 31”! Would love to hear more about it if you are willing to share

hi yes sorry this took so long-

Experiments 8, 13, 27, 31 is kind of...the best example I can give is like the facility in Stranger Things. The experiments in the title are the numbers of kids who are in a facility being studied because they have special powers. Sounds cheesy lol but I'm not sure how else to phrase it. It's kind of a slice of life because they get to attend normal school--granted it's with a bunch of the kids of the scientists and workers experimenting on them. Also, they themselves aren't experiments, they had powers when they arrived, but they had to be tested to make sure they aren't dangerous. Basically it just follows them and dealing with how society reacts to the strange (read: badly)
