I’ve been getting a lot of requests about how I do abroad. What exactly is an International Community Ambassador? What does #GiveTogether mean? How does one get involved in Expanding Community Outreach? 💁‍♀️ One just does it. One gets up one day and says I want to go help people and here is where I want to go and here is the cause I am passionate about helping. Then you just start showing up and you start helping and other organizations hear about it and they ask you to come and help as well. The good deeds create ripple effects and countries while they are big are also connected by people, people who talk and engage and have social media. The word gets out that you’re the girl who wore a yellow dress in the middle of a village in Thailand to help raise awareness about Elephants 🐘 🌎✌🏼 The human connection is so powerful AND showing up is the first step. Because we all want to hear we matter, that we are important, and that someone sees us for who we are are and it feels good to be valued for existing. So if I were to tell you how to go and do it, where to start: 1.) pick a place you love or have always wanted to visit. 2.) choose what type of service program you want to assist (education, environment, health, animals, poverty alleviation) 3.) and lastly, find an organization in the place you want to go to and reach out to them and ask how/ when/ if you can help. Organizations are always looking for volunteers! You’ll need to fly yourself and will need to typically lodge yourself as well. Once you arrive it all works together like magic from there. So start researching what adventure you want to take, save the sea turtles, the penguins elephants. Feed the need in your community by hosting a food fundraiser. Create sustainable living solutions like building water filters in countries that are lacking clean water. And if you need tips just DM me. I’ll help you navigate forward 💯💋 • • • #peaceispossible #expandcommunityoutreach #laurenelizabethhubbard https://www.instagram.com/p/B0P4GOvJPrx/?igshid=1nnw7jeaftbh6

Nothing prepares you for the moment you actually stand on the ledge, feet gripping the inside comfort of your shoes, knees buckling at the site of what lies below, your hands clammy, and your mind focused on the fact that this is the highest bridge in the world to bungy from, and in a moment you are about to take the biggest jump or air flop into the space below you. In my mind I rehearsed the scene of me graciously swan diving into the new year and this was the symbolic form of letting go or as close as I have ever known it and of course the reality couldn’t have been farther from what I visioned in my mind, but I did it. I fucking did it! Would I do it again, John asked me (the @faceadrenalin team member featured in photo 3), “never” I said “but I would recommend every one tries it once in their lifetime.” Thank you to the Bloukrans Bridge Bungy Rockstar Staff in no particular order : JT, for strapping me in and giving me a little push into a bravery I’ve never known; Simon, for capturing the professional photos and video of my jump, and of course, to my Spider-Man named Coffee, who came to rescue me in the air and let me hold onto his leg even when I was finally secured to him. I can’t believe his job is to literally rappel and receive the adrenaline fallen all day and I love him for it. And of course thank you to my husband @jondejager for waking me up at 7am to begin the 4 hour drive to make this day possible. If you jump, I jump. Imagine if we took the time to learn and love every individual our energy passed. Imagine that we shared congratulations, connection, and compassion with them as we all do with people every single day, some in small fractions, and others on large scales. Imagine we shared stories and learned about the lives of those we met along our journey, asked where they came from and how they learned who they became to be, and they reply because they trust us and because we listen to them and so this is how our connection begins. Imagine if when we left a place and we said goodbye to the people that impacted who we became to be, how much more gratitude we would have for the life we are living, and for those we meet along the way. Imagine for a moment we realized the impermanence of everything and we just loved one another because we realized we are all suffering in some way and somehow the connection of knowing one another made us feel, alive. This is what tonight presented to me. Friends whom have become family and memories that have exhibited my own transformation as a human being. Asia. You gave me the stomping grounds for the meeting place of finding the person who will become the father of my children, you have given me land to find my foundation so I can become a strong individual on my path and you have taught me that goodbyes are meaningful only because the people we meet are worthy of the memories we have made with them. My heart is heavy as we pack to leave on our next adventure and say goodbye to those who have inspired the differences we make in this world. I know moving forward that connections, compassion and congratulations are in order because we all have one life to live and not nearly enough time to live it. Here’s to the adventure that awaits us tomorrow and to the friends we said goodbye to, tonight. . . , . #photo #culture #laurenhubbard #thailand #gratitude #flowers #travelblogger Photo Credit: @jondejager (at Nonthaburi, Thailand) https://www.instagram.com/p/BrAo1svA1f3/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1eevt6k2bkwli

Last night under the full moon in Siem Reap I had the pleasure of hearing the alphabet aloud by a group of school children I have come to watch grow over the past year in the countryside. Seeing them a year older now, my heart still swells when we meet again. I remember this classroom was a former holding home to pigs, now it seats about 22 children from the village and is the setting for where hopeful futures are incubated. What a gift education is for our future generations. May we always continue to support those pillars nourishing the minds of our future leaders. #expandcommunityoutreach #GiveTogether #visitcambodia (at Siem Reap) https://www.instagram.com/p/BpWoZ-oBuAE/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=idphcno78ag7

No life is more important than another. We are all connected in this life, lifetime after lifetime. It is our responsibility to take care and nourish one another as we would ourselves. 🚨Please keep in mind elephants are not for riding. Just for loving. Love more. Love one another. This is my wish for us all. When I prepared to head to Asia to travel and expand community outreach I decided to get rid of anything I owned that did not bring me Joy. I decided that this dress definitely DID and the other day my fiancé (😍) mentioned I should wear it. . . . Today is the second day in it, and I forgot how much Joy wearing it brings me. It really is the simple things in life that have become my everything, a floral dress with pockets, meditation with the Buddhas, bike rides, and Him ♥️ Photo Credit @jondejager • My wish for you is that you are able to find joy in the simple things • 🙏 . . . . . #laurenhubbard #community #cultureconnection #blogger #travelphotography #backpacking #sabaisabai #buddha #floatingmarket #sundayfunday #motto #couplegoals #thailand #visitasia #explore #findyourjoy (at Nonthaburi, Thailand) https://www.instagram.com/p/BopmxcQhXTt/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=q0gzrv612004
