albums I'm obsessing over now that it's crunchy leaf season
My autumn has not begun until I'm driving through my little rural town, watching the leaves whizzing past my car, listening to Between the Lines of Age. Also, the title track off of this album?! Hello?!
Simon and motherfucking Garfunkel. I refuse to elaborate.
Another obvious choice, in my humble opinion. As a native New Englander, I too feel that Vermont is depressing as hell.
Girl from the North Country? Don't Think Twice, It's All Right? Oxford Town? Screaming, crying, throwing up. Every time it gets a little chilly outside, I retreat deeper into my coat and pretend I'm Bob Dylan.
I found her recently through the duet she did with Hozier, and absolutely fell in love with her voice. Sonnet 104 is pure sonic perfection. I was so floored by her Songbird cover as a Fleetwood Mac fan -- she sounds so similar to Christine here.
He's got some questionable politics, but by God that boy can play some jazz.
I adore the Beatles, and this is probably my all-time favorite album of theirs. Although, Run For Your Life is just a little terrifying. We'll just pretend it's a Halloween song.
George is definitely my favorite Beatle, sorry not sorry.
Joni, my love, my queen.
Yes, more Bob Dylan. BUT there's also The Band!!! You best believe I watch The Last Waltz every Thanksgiving.
I have reached my audio limit for this post, so a part 2 may be in order.

as a phrase, âshe [x] on my [x] tilâ i [x]â only is funny if on either side of a spectrum. either the phrase ends so specific to a sexual action itâs a smart joke (for example, âshe strogan me off til i beefâ uses the word âbeef stroganoffâ but also makes a âstroking offâ joke, making it clever wordplay.) or it makes so little sense that it ends up funny from the absurdity of deciphering what type of sexual action could even be taking place. (example: when my roomate the other night asked to hand them a sanpelligrino and then said âshe san on my pelli tilâ i grinoâ which begs the question of what âsanningâ is, what a âpelliâ repersents in terms of human genitalia and what âgrinoingâ could possibly be.)

So I took myself to watch MaXXXine today and I have weird feelings about it. I think I may need to let the film digest in my brain a little more before I make a final judgement on itâŚ
I appreciate the camp/gratuity/aesthetics as a retro horror fan. Iâm also considering the sociocultural context of the setting. However, Iâm having a hard time reconciling with how certain plot lines from the first 2 films are tied in here, and also donât love the way the characters are written.
So far, I think itâs safe to say that I liked X and Pearl way more than MaXXXine! Is that controversial?

I'm back!
It's been awhile, here's a life update.
Not only did I turn 20, but also 21 (this is how time works, yes?)
My mother almost died (but then she didn't!)
My elderly cats passed away

But then we adopted two new cats (including a kitten!)

I had a fat mental breakdown coming home from college last summer, job-hopped for a few months, almost dropped out of college (but then didn't), and transferred colleges. Wild.
I have spent the better part of the last year waiting tables at unspecified Italian restaurant chain but now am applying to work at a psychiatric hospital so I can start doing something related to my degree
Got my heart broken in magnificent fashion by my first serious boyfriend
Fell in love a year later with a man I met on Hinge... and then he broke my heart after a 3 month situationship
So this is my early 20s, I suppose. All I can really do is try to keep my head screwed on and slowly find my way in this hellscape of an economy/political atmosphere.

Healthy New Yearâs Resolutions That Donât Involve Weight Loss
Instead of focusing on the same tired weight loss goals for 2023, letâs think about habits that could actually improve our lives. What has slipped during the past year? What are you missing? How could you better address your own needs, or the needs of those around you? Take this opportunity to really address the parts of your life that could improve and consider some of these healthy resolutions for the new year:
Reduce your alcohol consumption
Get more quality sleep/limit your sleep to 8 hours per night
Bring reusable bags when you shop
Eat vegetables at every meal
Wash your bed sheets weekly
Actually eat your fruit before it goes bad
Donât watch tv or use your phone during meals
Support local food producers through farm shares
Donate to your local food bank
Take vitamins
Learn to knit or sew
Stretch and improve your flexibility
Volunteer as a caller for political campaigns
Concentrate on improving your posture
Set up a weekly board game night with your family
Replace your toothbrush
Educate yourself on basic home care and maintenance
Clean your kitchen and dishes after each meal
Stop biting your nails
Wear sunscreen every day youâre outside
Clean your pantry and throw out expired food each month
Quit smoking
Reduce impulse online shopping by creating a weekly budget
Put your laundry away
Cut down on the amount of plastic you use each day
Re-try foods that you hate, but havenât eaten in years
Make your bed
Moisturize and remove your makeup before going to bed
Keep a journal
Tip service workers generously
Floss
Focus on purchasing goods from small business owners, not Amazon
Join a pen pal exchange
Set up that therapy appointment
Text your friend that you havenât talked to in a while
Small, actionable goals are key here. What can you start doing today to improve your life, and the lives of those around you?
