motherhood in comics is literally just about endless grief. So many mothers miss their kids entire childhoods and are presented with a grown up version of the baby they just held. so many mothers don’t get to raise their children. if fatherhood in comics is about legacy then motherhood is about loss

laura being All-New Wolverine is so important to me because she was created as wolverine clone and nothing more than that and becoming wolverine really symbolizes how far she's gone and become her own person, wearing the wolverine mantle but not being wolverine like logan, she is wolverine but she is the All-New Wolverine, she is her own wolverine and not a copy of her father

The idea of Robin and Batman as a gay couple was popularized by "Seduction of The Innocent" and I would say that it even has bases in young queer people who actually used the relationship between the two as a fantasy to explore their sexuality, projecting themselves onto Robin and fantasizing about Batman.
Looking at the big picture, it's actually kind of problematic, with Batman being an adult and Robin still a child, and I really don't think (most) writers at the time really thought about portraying the two characters in that way. But in the 1950s, when being a man showing attraction to another man was dangerous to your physical integrity and could ruin your reputation, and these comic books were the way that young boys found to explore their sexualities.
(Also, Wertham's warnings about how Batman was turning your kids gay was basically a Streisand Effect.)
Do you guys remember how kidnap fantasies were popular on wattpad because young girls and queer teens were both made to feel shame at the thought of their own sexualities, so the fantasy of being kidnapped totally against their will was a way for them to engage with a romantic or sexual fantasy without feeling morally in the wrong for doing so? Added bonus that the fantasy involved being whisked away from repressive environments like home or school, right?
Finding out that Bram Stoker was in a sexless marriage and that scholars believe that he very likely was closeted gay puts the entire book into perspective as to WHY it reads EXACTLY like a self insert wattpad Dracula kidnap fic:
“I TOTALLY love my wife and would never do anything that an upstanding Good Straight Working Man wouldn’t do but oh nooo, big strong man with broad back and strong enough arms to carry me back to bed like a princess trapped me and claimed me as his, completely against my will 👉👈 But he protects me against the bad evil sexual women (who I assure you, I am TOTALLY sexually attracted to, as any straight man with a choice would be) but trust me, I do NOT want ANY of this. What’s that? The Count is not capable of feeling love? Would be a shame if I had the special ability to change tha-”

On the one hand, the Ultimate Universe gave me Miles Morales, a character that I love and adore
On the other hand, there was that disgusting story about the incest of the Maximoff twins that I hate so much and ended up being marked in the history of both characters (which I love, and I hate that they are associated with incest nowadays)

Idea for a "Batgirl" TV show I had during bath:
The first season would be Barbara Gordon as Batgirl, fighting crime and supervillains on the streets of Gotham. Not Batgirl starting her career, not a Batgirl: Year One. Batgirl who's already been a vigilante for some time. At the end of the season, Joker shoots her that leaves her paraplegic (In a different way than in The Killing Joke. It's her show, let her have agency!)
In season two, we are introduced to Barbara Gordon at the beginning of her career as Oracle. At the beginning of the season, Barbara meets Cassandra Cain, and the Batgirl mantle ends up being passed on to her. The story of the series' second season would have two main focuses: Barbara Gordon as Oracle and Cassandra Cain as Batgirl.
Season one Barbara crime-fighting partners are mostly other bats (Batman, Nightwing, Robin). In season two she would start the Birds Of Prey. Also, throw in Lady Shiva, David Cain, and Rose Wilson for Cass' story.
