I really love Milverton's design but there is one thing what stands out with its uniqe meaning: his eyes - because the pupil and the white light inside always changes regarding how evil he is at the moment.
He has three different type of eyes.
Tumblr media
The first one is when his pupil and the light is both circular: we can see it when he just casually talks to Ruskin or his bodyguards and doesn't brainstorm about evil. This shows that he is in a normal mood, when his eyes are like that, he is polite and nice.
Tumblr media
Interestingly, we can see this type of eyes when he arrives at Sherlock's office, but didn't start the negotiation yet. It maybe shows that what he does later is nothing personal and that he otherwise doesn't want to hurt Miss Hudson. But when the negotiation starts, his eyes immediately switch into the second type.
Tumblr media
The second eyes are where both his pupil and the light become more sheer: we see this when he is plotting his evil plans or does something evil - he is shown with these eyes during the the negotiation with Whiteley, too. (This eye type has another variation where we only see the sheer white light but not his pupil when the manga panel is more saturated - most likely his glasses reflected back from his eyes. )
Tumblr media
The third eyes are when his pupil is fully sheered and the light disappears, his eyes become snake-like - that's when he gets totally overhyped about the suffering he causes, this is his most evil mood.
Another interesting addition that the eye rule applies too when someone is talking about Milverton. When the Moriarties first discussed him BEFORE they knew he was evil, we see the first eyes.
Tumblr media
But when Sherlock who knows about Milverton's true nature, talks about him, we see the second and the third eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Overall, his eyes are the best indicator to determine at what percentage of evil he is currently.

when an entire team of scientists kept chuuya trapped in their lab to experiment on him. when the sheep used chuuya as a weapon and means of protection. when dazai wanted chuuya to be his dog. when he wanted chuuya to be his maid. when rimbaud attempted to turn chuuyas dead body into a puppet to use it as a weapon. when mori had chuuya swear his undying loyalty to him after making sure he had no one else to turn to. when verlaine tried to kill every person who chuuya had an attachment to so he could make chuuya rely on solely him. when professor N brought chuuya back into the lab to continue his experiments. when fyodor had chuuya turned into a mindless vampire to get him on his side. the innate bsd character urge to own chuuya

BSD Alternate Abilities AU
An AU where the characters’ Abilities are based off different works by the authors.
Continued here.
Also, please feel free to use this AU. Have fun with it. But, if you do, @ me, because I would love to see it too.
(Also a reading list, if you like.)
Armed Detective Agency
Nakajima Atsushi – The Two Generals (based on the short story Li Ling). The Ability to manifest two spear-wielding phantom warriors, like Demon Snow and Golden Demon. One warrior is focused on attack and the other is focused on defense. Before joining the ADA, Atsushi had no control over The Two Generals and would manifest them during times of extreme emotional stress that causes him to go into a catatonic state – one goes berserk while the other hunches protectively over Atsushi’s vulnerable body. Because of his catatonia, he would not remember anything after coming out of his stupor.
Dazai Osamu – The Setting Sun (based on the novel The Setting Sun). A skin contact-based Ability that marks the target with a black snake tattoo that acts as a curse. Those marked will have misfortune befall them. Dazai has no control over what the misfortune is or when it will happen; the Ability only assures that it will happen with certainty. He may also revoke the curse, also through skin contact. It also works on inanimate objects. As part of the Port Mafia, he would use The Setting Sun as a tool of coercion, the curse acting like a ticking time bomb. In tandem with Chuuya as Double Black, he would mark the target with The Setting Sun and Chuuya would use The Moon to make the misfortune happen sooner.
Kunikida Doppo – Birds of Spring (based on the short story The Bird of Spring). Allows Kunikida to communicate with birds and borrow their vision. This makes him an excellent tracker and, if he was not so morally upright and respectful of others’ privacy, it would make him a great spy. He is also capable of directing the birds’ actions, provided that they agree to do what he says, but is limited to the physical limitations of birds. Seems to use seagulls a lot, and gets into arguments with them a lot.
Edogawa Ranpo – Fiend with a Thousand Faces (based on the character Fiend with Twenty Faces and his many, many characters who don disguises). While not an Ability and still primarily a master detective, Ranpo is also a master of disguise. He thinks his supposed Ability allows him to change his appearance. In truth, he is just very good at dressing up. His favorite persona is a man named Saito – moustache, colored glasses, a blue coat and hat – who he has a complete second life for.
Yosano Akiko – Tangled Hair (based on the poem Tangled Hair). While still the ADA’s doctor, Yosano’s Ability allows her to grow and control her hair. Because of this, she regularly changes her hairstyle – sometimes, it is short and, sometimes, it is very long. Her hair is highly prehensile and the strands are razor-sharp. She has enough control that she can handle delicate tasks with just her hair and can shape it into a variety of forms. Yosano just prefers the brute force approach.
Miyazawa Kenji – Night on the Milky Way Railroad (based on the novella Night on the Milky Way Railroad). A prophetic Ability. Kenji can see one day into the future through his dreams if he sleeps under the night sky. But the prophecies are symbolically represented, so he has to work at deciphering what his cryptic dreams mean.
Tanizaki Jun'ichirou – The Tattooer (based on the short story The Tattooer). Allows Tanizaki to bring the creatures tattooed into his skin to life. They are brought to life to scale, so they are limited by the surface area of his skin. Once the creature is brought to life, the original disappears from his skin and he has to get another. Due to the nature of his Ability, Tanizaki is covered in fanciful tattoos. Most of them are inked by himself; the ones on his back are by Naomi, who fills the expanse of his skin with spiders.
Izumi Kyouka – Demon Pond (based on the play Demon Pond). A transformation Ability that allows Kyouka to transform into a weather-controlling dragon. Initially, the transformation was triggered by three chimes of a bell and would cause her to go on a rampage. The same three chimes could be used to put an end to the transformation. But nobody outside of the Mafia knew that. Akutagawa used a ringtone to control her; she still hates that ringtone.
Port Mafia
Akutagawa Ryuunosuke – Hell Screen (based on the short story Hell Screen). The Ability to bring Akutagawa’s drawings to life by setting the paper – or canvas, or wall – on fire. As such, he is never without a filled sketchpad and a lighter. It only works on his own art and Akutagawa has a morbid imagination. He used to only be able to draw things from real life inspiration, which Dazai berated him for. So Akutagawa took to seeking out terrible sights and filled his sketchbooks with monstrous amalgamations – and his drawings do not need to be to scale when brought to life. Seems particularly fond of venomous bird-reptile hybrids and, for some inexplicable reason, a flaming monkey.
Nakahara Chuuya – The Moon (based on the poem The Moon). A time manipulation Ability that allows Chuuya to make things go faster or slower within a certain radius of himself. In application, he can make bullets make impact with more momentum by increasing their speed. He can also stop time by lighting a cigarette and keep it stopped until the cigarette burns out or is put out, or “rewind” time using the same method. As half of Double Black, he would use his Ability on Dazai’s curses to bring about the misfortune on their targets.
Kajii Motojirou – Under the Cherry Trees (based on the short story Under the Cherry Trees). A necromantic Ability. Kajii can reanimate and control the dead, so long as the body is buried beneath a cherry blossom tree. Of course, Kajii has no qualms about murder to make more corpses for his zombie army, or thieving from morgues for that matter. The effect is somewhat ruined by the cherry blossom flowers growing out of his zombies, but Kajii thinks it looks cool.
Ozaki Kouyou – Friends of the Inkstone (based on the literary magazine Friend of the Inkstone). The Ability to make ink-based facsimiles and creatures so long as they are no bigger than an inkstone. The creatures she makes are usually miniature versions of animals and look like netsuke carvings, especially tiny octopuses. They might be small, but they can do great damage in numbers. She keeps a swarm of them in the sleeves of her kimono.
Fukuzawa and Mori still have the same Abilities and I am not sure yet about the other characters’ new Abilities.

He was a kid living in a container he was a kid he was just a child. He was a child and he lived in a cold metal container in a dumpster. He lived alone in a container, a child. Even if he was feared and respected in the mafia not a single person thought “this is a child, living alone in a container in a dumpster, that’s fucked up”. Did no one else think of him as a child? Did they simply think he was a monster? Was he not just a child alone in a cold abandoned dump? Not even mori, who actually saw himself in this little kid? Did he not bother to make him live in a warm home? Eve chuuya got his own apartment. “Nooo but it was probably his choice” yeah since when can you trust the choices of a child who has been alienated by every adult in his life and treated like a monster, when he’s so obviously in pain and alone and needs help whether he likes it or not? I don’t care what he wants to do, hes a child and he needs a home, what the fuck? God, someone give this kid a bowl of soup, hot chocolate and a tv to sit in front of. Someone give him a couch and a blanket.

He needs a hug guys 😭
Wow, who’s that handsome goofball??!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Tumblr media
Let’s kick off to a blazing start on this KNY writing blog with an in- depth character analysis of everyone’s favourite fire- type human…
Rengoku Kyojuro!
A.K.A. That one annoying weirdo who shows up for a single arc, makes the entire audience fall hopelessly in love with him forever, then dies! ~
Power move tbh.
[Insert gigantic disclaimer here that all the posts on this blog will be my personal headcanons. Interpretations always vary from reader to reader- so let me know anything you agreed with, or felt completely differently about; I love that kind of thing! This whole blog is basically just a self- indulgent space for me to analyse the crap out of this series for fun, so come join me in my spiralling demon slayer brainrot!! The more the merrier :D]
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Tumblr media
No, but seriously, who is that guy?
Kyojuro is a shining mentor figure, courageous and supportive; a brash, unforgettable character lovingly crafted by Gotouge to make the Mugen Train arc as excruciatingly painful as possible.
The thing is, my kneejerk reaction when he first showed up in canon was: “this guy is dangerous”. Lurking beneath that amicable smile is a professional killer who will not hesitate. We were given a brief glimpse into this side of Kyojuro during his initial encounter with the Kamado siblings at corps headquarters; upon being confronted with the traumatised orphan boy and his demon sister, he was the very first hashira to object, calling for Nezuko to be beheaded and vehemently declaring “no trial is required!!”. Sure, he was far from alone in chomping at the bit for child murder back then, but that reaction was a telling indicator that Kyojuro’s particular brand of passionate loyalty is more than capable of driving him to make brutal snap decisions. Even if deep down he felt uncomfortable about the outcome, he acted rashly because the situation directly contradicted his even deeper- rooted morals. Had things been left to the flame hashira alone, the story of the Kamado siblings would have ended right there and then.
What would have happened if Kyojuro had been the one to discover them in the forest that fateful day instead of Giyuu? I’m not totally convinced, but I’m inclined towards that same bloody outcome he immediately called for before the trial. Perhaps Tanjiro’s tenacious defense of his sister would have persuaded him… but I suspect Kyojuro’s quick- fire judgement would lop that demon’s head off “to protect the civilian from being eaten!!” before the poor kid even had a chance to explain who she was.
Love him or hate him, the flame hashira is an intense character who invariably leaves a lasting impression on the reader. In all his canon appearances, Kyojuro is unabashedly vocal about anything he feels strongly about, even to the point of rudeness- but still remains sensitive and attuned to the needs of others. He demonstrates an impressive capacity to change his opinion on the fly, yet stubbornly sticks to his core ideals- even if they sometimes get in the way. In other words, this is a character who gleefully contradicts himself at every turn… which of course makes me want to stick him under a microscope to study like a bug! 🧐

I made this because I just finished S1 and I use memes to cope

Thorkell: I learned some very valuable lessons from this.
Asgeir: I’m guessing they are all horrible distortions on the lessons you actually should’ve taken away.
Thorkell: Death isn’t real, and I’m basically God.

Bjørn: What time is it?
Askeladd: I don’t know; pass me that saxophone and we’ll find out
Askeladd: *Plays saxophone loudly and extremely out of tune*
Thorfinn: WHO THE F*CK IS PLAYING THE SAXOPHONE AT TWO IN THE MORNING
Askeladd: It’s 2 am

Askeladd: You have to apologize to Cnut
Thorfinn: Fine.
Thorfinn: 'Unf*ck you' or whatever.

Thorfinn: Today is a day of running through hurdles.
Cnut: Aren’t you supposed to jump OVER hurdles?
Thorfinn: Whatever. Fear is only something to be afraid of if you let it scare you.

Askeladd: I’d like to offer you moral support, but I have questionable morals.
