━⊱•⊰━ Wow this piece was… an adventure. My first attempt at watercolor ended up as this mixed media piece- the ones that I got dried way too pale, so I ended up compensating with a mixture of… brush pen, colored pencil, and other inks to get where we are. Overall I’m not displeased! I learned a lot and I love looking at the piece in person. :D I’m excited to try more colored traditional work. Howdy y’all! As a heads up I have been sick for the past few days but I have received talks requests in my inbox and things. I’m loving the Netjeru suggestions! :D

I tried to draw one today, but ultimately flopped on it and fell asleep. Now that I have slept for a good day, I’ll be sick and running a fever in supine position until it passes.

When I began working with Set, I knew him as the boundary pusher. Yet the longer we worked together, he showed me his gentle, nurturing side. He was the one to tell me it’s okay to rest, to pace myself. There is something profound and ironic having a god of chaos telling you to relax

This is very much how I get Him as well- for the uninitiated, in the walls of the Kemetic Orthodoxy, I am a child of Ra and Set. :D 💛

I very much align with the epithet, “Set, the Lord of Life, at the Prow of the Barque of Ra.” Other than relating to my name as a Shemsu (“Ituiemhat”, lit “My Two Father’s are At the Prow”), His nourishing and life-giving side was apparent even from the very beginning.

I always say that there is no One more aligned to teach coping and healing from chaos, than the Lord of it. I’d daresay He understands it well, and I’m glad that He can help you there!

I visited a big city recently, and I thought Osiris would be distant, because I usually live near farmland and I expected the city to be too noisy and developed for him. But as I walked down alleyways I heard him calling through the lichen and moss and weeds sprouting out of the concrete, and I felt him when my friend told me about working on archaeological digs in the city. He never makes me feel like I've been abandoned.

That is beautiful- truly, the Gods are with us even it the places one would least expect Them to be, at first- we just have to open our hearts to recieve Them, because They are calling us, too. 💛
