i love seeing mistakes in art. it reminds me that no matter how perfect or amazing a painting or a dance or a piece of literature or a pot is it reminds me that we all make mistakes and that is what makes our creations ours

A strategy for creatives who share art online that has helped me tremendously:
step 1: finish art
step 2: share w/ small peer group for immediate "good job"s / positive feedback
step 3: wait a week or more then post it online. Ideally by scheduling it in advance.
After the week buffer, I'm usually already excited about my next project, so I tend to care a lot less about how the first is received on social media. No notes? No worries, we'll keep moving forward

Art is much more fun when you start caring less about "the right way to do things", and focus on what you think would be really cool and awesome!
Experiment with colors and shapes, go crazy with the power of creation that is resting on your fingertips, indulge in your fantasy and unleash your creativity!!
The passion for what you create will encourage you to improve your skills!

To all artists out there:
Never forget that your "just a sketch" or "didn't like how it turned out" or "kinda ugly tbh" is already a masterpiece in the eyes of others and we just sit there, looking at our screens and going "wow this is amazing"

I think expressing yourself artistically is amazing. Whether it's your own art style or the canon style, everything you draw is beautiful because in the end, it's YOU who made it. Never doubt about yourself... Draw the way you want and don't let anybody telling you otherwise! :-]
Personally, I LOVE to make fanarts close to the canonical style with a tiny bit of my ✨ Jooj touch ✨ I always struggled to have one unique art style but I don't mind at all... It's the way I love to draw and I don't want to change it! I love experimenting with different style!
Just believe in yourself, your art skills and trust me, you will have fun and you will also improve (even if you may not notice it)... Never stop believing!! 💪✨

Reasons I tell myself to post the art I don't like:
You spent time and thought on it, which makes it worth something.
It contributes to your overall development of your skills. You'll be able to look back on it and see how much you've improved since (and you will improve!)
You are self-critical and prone to picking out flaws that blind you to beauty. You never know, someone else might love it

You don't have to be skilled at art to make art and be an artist. Paint badly. Sing badly. Play video games badly on twitch. Write the cheesiest stories the world has ever seen. If it's important to you then it's an important thing to make. The right people will find value in it purely because you made it. And the wrong people don't matter.

♦️ If you wrote a piece of fiction…
♦️ If you wrote some lines of poetry or a song…
♦️ If you painted, drew, or doodled something…
♦️ If you edited pieces of something else preexisting in a way that evokes a deliberate mood, theme, or idea…
You have created art!
Your art is valuable no matter what inspired it, no matter how good you think it is, no matter what it is about.
Please keep creating art, even if some people try to discourage you, call your art bad, or have contempt for it’s content.
Art enriches the world, always. Your art enriches the world.

I love careless imperfections in art.
People always praise the perfections and fear the imperfections in their works, and i'm not going to say i don't completely fear imperfections in my works either;
However honestly, the happy and the unlucky accidents in art feel so special to me. The accidental dots that should've been removed, the wonky-choppy lines, wrong colors, rushed anatomy, an area left over/undershaded, forgetting to erase an additional pair of hands from a finished artwork.
It can be jarring, it can be beautiful, but it always feels lived, and that is so wonderful. Even if you got to erase an entire pair of extra hands after you already posted the artwork online.
