I often think about how Lewis said he personally called so many drivers in 2020 and personally asked them to kneel for BLM. I think about how he said he personally tried to explain the protest to them and answer all their questions. I think about how he felt when so many of them still declined. I think about how he was fined for wearing shirts for BLM. I think about how F1 stopped him from wearing a shirt that simply said "Justice for Breonna Taylor." because F1 wanted to 'de-politicise' the sport. I think about how when they asked Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of F1, about Lewis' activism, he said F1 is not racist and he does not "Percieve" the racism Lewis is talking about.

I think about how Nelson Piquet, who was fined $1 million for racially abusing Lewis on video was *banned* from the paddock. I think about how he just showed up to the paddock today clearly wearing a paddock pass and hanging out outside of Red Bull, not even hiding inside.

I think how this is all so symptomatic of how rotten to the core F1 is. How Lewis being the most successful driver in the history of the sport did not spare him from this.

NO TIME LEFT TO SAVE A CANCER PATIENT AND A PREGNANT WOMAN IN KHAN YUNIS

I've been speaking with Laila @lailashaqoura and have been trying to bolster support for her family's fundraisers. I'm making a new post because the last has been falling off in terms of engagement and donations. The first fundraiser is for Laila's immediate family, and the second is for her extended family, who were being represented by her cousin Tala on tumblr until tumblr banned her account. Both of these fundraisers have been verified by multiple Palestinian tumblr users. I've become deeply worried for Laila and her family after the attacks on supposed "safe zones" in Khan Yunis, and haven't heard from her since. Please, I've seen engagement with both these campaigns and Palestinian fundraisers in general fall off lately, but we can't lose hope. If you have anything to spare at all, if you were going to go on a coffee run tomorrow, please donate it to help these families escape genocide. Even if you absolutely can't donate, please share these fundraisers as far as you can to help them reach their goals. I'm setting 30k as a short-term goal for Laila's campaign and 15k for Tala's, which it has been struggling to meet for weeks. Please, this family needs your help. Laila's mother is pregnant and Tala's mother has cancer, and even the healthiest members of their family are still suffering from malnutrition and deep mental trauma from the constant threat to their lives. Please, do what you can, donate and spread these posts. The Story of Mohamed Hussein Ismail and His Family: A Journey of Struggle and Hope 🕊️🍉🗝️

I am Mohammad Hussein Ismail, a 23-year-old Palestinian from Gaza, reaching out to you during these unimaginably difficult times. My life and that of my family have been profoundly changed by the war, and today I write to you, hoping for your support and assistance.

My Family 🕊️❤️

My family consists of five members: my mother Raja (51 years old), my father Hussein (58 years old), my sister Iman (18 years old), and my younger sister Noor (13 years old). We used to live a simple life filled with hope and ambition before the war turned our lives upside down.

On a grim night at the onset of the war, our neighborhood was relentlessly bombed. The blasts shook our home, compelling us to flee into the darkness, navigating through sporadic explosions, desperately seeking safety. By morning, we reached southern Gaza, seeking refuge in Rafah, our hearts heavy with sorrow for what we had lost. 🕊️🍉🗝️

In this brutal war, my father was injured, severing tendons in his finger due to relentless bombardment. Due to malnutrition and rampant diseases, my sister Iman contracted hepatitis, exacerbating our suffering. We endured the cold winter within the confines of a tent, and the scorching summer heat as well, trapped inside due to harsh weather conditions. Unable to stay together as a family, we were forced to scatter and flee once again from Rafah due to intense shelling, seeking refuge in Deir al-Balah within the Gaza Strip, where our struggles continued in search of safety and hope for survival.🕊️🍉🗝️

Now displaced, we endure an immensely challenging life, filled with hardships. We struggle tirelessly to prepare food over open fires, to fetch water, and even find a place to sleep. We've lost the basic comforts of life. Due to inadequate shelter, severe infections have ravaged my body, and I've grown exhausted in the quest for treatment amidst the scarcity of medicine.🕊️🍉🗝️

Our plight is desperate, and we implore your support to rebuild our shattered lives and secure a future for our family. Your kindness and generosity can bring about a profound change. Your contributions will provide us with the means to find safe shelter, access essential medical care, and obtain the basic necessities of life we so desperately need.🕊️🍉🗝️
