Goddess of Spring

To my dearest Persephone,

Please bring with thee, sight

so that I may see

the beauty of your hard work

I want to bask in your sunlight and be stunned

All while the smell of your sweet blooming flowers

And the soft breeze in between the trees

Engulfs me

I want to see the water

As it flows off the falls and into the creek

Luring me in with its beauty and

Suggesting I take a dip so that I may

discover what lay beneath its surface

I wish to discover the beauty in the life

that resides in the forest

like a doe

that is learning how to walk for the first time

like I am finally learning the beauty of what I’ve been missing

this whole time

I want not only to hear the call of the animals

But to see them as well

As they dance around in the beauty of the day

Celebrating that spring has come

And winter has gone

So again,

My sweet love of spring

Please allow me to see

The beauty in all that you bring

Just this once

So that I may finally

Be at peace

Knowing the grace and elegance that is spring

and misty night

I drive through the

cemetery

in hopes that once

more we might meet

weeping willow tree
