Mission Europa ~ Chapter 4
“Take a seat, your names are on a placecard,”
“Come on, I JUST left school,” A Japanese boy muttered under his breath.
“WHAT WAS THAT, HARU REN?” Arnold shouted.
Oh no. He might be in trouble.
“Nothing!” Haru yelped, and slid into his seat, at the front of the room.
Fortunately, Cece was placed in the very back row, next to Delaney and Declan.
“Thank you all for finding your seats! Now, I’m going to ask you to keep quiet, and keep the questions for after,” Arnold struck a pose, “Because I know you have many about the many amazing things I’ve done.”
Kawria raised her hand.
“What did I JUST say, Miss. Dlamini? Questions AFTER,” he emphasized the last word.
“Yeah, but none of us have any questions about you,” she said in a bored voice, much like Delaney’s.
Arnold huffed, “Well I never! How rude! Fine then. I’ll just get started. Your mission is to go to Europa, retrieve a damaged robot, find out what happened to it, either make a new one or repair the old one, and return. The first thing you will be learning is CODES. The codes used around the solar system by SWASA.”
He passed out sheets of lined paper, college ruled, of course, and mechanical pencils.
“I assume you know how to use these utensils, Miss. Dlamini? Did you have them in Africa?” he asked Kawria, after everyone else had their things.
Kawria stood up in a fury, “You racist asshole! Of course I know how to use a pencil! Number one! I have a degree in robotics! Number TWO! I’m from KENYA! I can’t believe they have you teaching us! You’re self-absorbed, and I bet you don’t know anything!”
Casimir stood up; “If you don’t apologize right now, I’ll walk right out of this place and never look back.”
One-by-one, the rest of the group stood up too.
“You can’t lose us all,” Neoma said, her voice as loud as a bell, “It’s too close to launch.”
Arnold looked taken aback. Then he begrudgingly turned to Kawria, “I’m so sorry for being racist.”
The Chinese boy stepped up to him, “Say it like you mean it.”
“I am so sorry, Miss. Dlamini,” Arnold said, a little less begrudgingly.
The kids sat down. There was silence for a moment. A tense silence.
“Please write your name on your paper. Okay, so codes. Each of your teams has its own specific abbreviation that you use on the comlink. Please write these down.”
Arnold started writing on the whiteboard with a black marker. All Rounders: AR. Robotics: BOT. Biology: BIO. Geology: GEO. Weather: WX. Navigation: NAV. Life Support: LS. Medical: MED.
“When communicating on the comlink, pay attention for your team’s abbreviation. When you start communicating a message, you will say your team’s name, and then ‘to’ and then, another team’s name. Also, when starting a message to another team, you have to ask them if they copy, to see if they are ready to receive your message.”
The scratching of pencils on paper was heard. The day was bright out, so the windows automatically became darker.
“For example,” Arnold started, “I would say, if I am on the Biology team, and I wanted to send a message to Medical for whatever reason, I would say ‘Bio to Med, do you copy? Over.’ and if they copy, they would reply, ‘Med copies, ready to receive message, over,’.”
Declan leaned over to Cece, “This is just another lecture, like in med school.”
Cece leaned over to him and whispered back, “I know, but this is important.”
“MISS LAURIER!” Arnold shouted, and Cece jumped.
“...Yes?” she asked, softly.
“Can you tell me, WHAT do you say once you’ve finished a message?”
Cece looked around. Makena mouthed ‘over’ in her direction, frantically.
“Over! You say over!” Cece said quickly, then shrunk back into her seat.
Arnold frowned.
“That is correct, Miss. Laurier. You say over after you finish EVERY SINGLE MESSAGE!”
The class jumped.
“Now, when you all want to send a message to the entire crew, a message to mission control, or it is an EMERGENCY message, you send those messages to the Comms person, Casimir. Wave hello Casimir.”
The boy awkwardly waved.
“Casimir is the Comms director, and is your link to mission control. If they have a message for you, or you for them, it WILL be sent through Casimir. Do I make myself clear?”
A chorus of “Yes” rang throughout the room.
“Okay then, let’s practice. DAMINI!”
The poor girl jumped.
“Yes?” she asked.
“There is a meteor storm headed for your craft. How do you tell the entire crew to expect a rough ride and Navigation to take evasive maneuvers? I want you to tell us exactly what you’d say.”
Damini looked at her notes, her frizzy blonde hair falling into her eyes.
“Okay, ummm. Wx to Comms, do you copy? Over.”
“Very good, you directed it to Comms. NOW! Casimir, how do you respond?”
The boy sat up straighter, “Comms receives, over.”
Everyone turned back to Damini, “Message for all teams. Over.”
“Comms standby for message. Over.”
“We have a meteor storm headed this way. Alert Nav for evasive maneuvers and other teams for rough patch. Over.”
“Good Damini! Very good! Now, class, when you understand the message, you say ‘Affirmative’. When you don’t, you say ‘Negative’, and you ask the sender to either re-word the message, or repeat. Now, if you need someone to wait while you transfer another message, or get something done, you say ‘stand by’. If you hear someone tell you to ‘stand by’, you say, ‘standing by’. ARE YOU ALL TAKING NOTES!?!”
Cece was, but she couldn't tell about the others. This might be important information to have!
“Affirmative. Stand by?” Casimir’s voice rang through the din.
“Standing by,” Damini nodded.
“Casimir, you know what to do next. Transfer the message to the rest of the crew,” Arnold directed.
“Comms to all teams, do you copy?”
“NOW!” Arnold shouted, making everyone jump, “If you are a team of only one, then you are the one to answer a call for your team. BUT if you are a team of two, you will have to decide WHO will answer the call. If there is a specific name mentioned, then have that person answer the call. Continue.”
The groups looked at each other. Declan pointed to Cece, and she shook her head. Declan pointed at her again.
“No, I can’t,” Cece whispered.
“You can, just say, ‘Med team copies,’,” Declan whispered back.
“AR copies,”
Brea.
“BOT copies,”
The Chinese boy from earlier.
“Very good, Brea, and Jie.”
“Bio copies.”
Adrien.
“Geo copies.”
Neoma.
“Nav copies.”
Haru Ren.
He’s on Nav? He doesn’t seem like the type.
“LS copies.”
Makena.
Everyone turned to Declan and Cece.
“Cece, now you say ‘Med copies’,” Arnold told her.
“...Med copies,” Cece whispered quickly.
“I can’t hear you. Speak louder!”
“Med copies!” Cece said quickly.
“Good job everyone. Now, Casimir, relay the message.”
“Message from Wx, meteor storm incoming. Nav, take evasive action, all teams, prepare for rough terrain. Over.”
Arnold clapped his hands.
“Now, what do you all say?”
As one, the group chroused; “Affirmative.”
“Very nice,” Arnold informed the group, “They’ll go over the main points of your jobs at the official initiation tonight.”
Happy chatter filled the room, and Cece walked over to Jie, she was pretty sure that was his name. He looked up, surprised. His black hair fell into his brown eyes.
“...” Cece wanted to talk, she just couldn’t.
“Yes?” Jie asked, confused.
“... What’s your name?” she managed to get out.
“Jie Qian Li. I’m on the robotics team, with Kawria. I’m from China. And you are?” he said, and held out his hand for her to shake.
She steeled herself. I can do this, I can do this. She shook his hand.
“Persephone Cora Laurier. Call me Cece… I’m on the medical team! And I’m from the EUSA. I wanted to say that I admire what you did earlier.”
The boy smiled, “Thanks,” He had a cute crooked smile.
The rest of the group had already started walking out the door. Declan appeared beside Cece, and grabbed her hand.
“Come on! We’re going to learn what to do for the launch tomorrow, and then go see the ship!” Declan chattered as he dragged Cece into yet another room.
This room had no windows. The walls were painted a sky blue.
Really a bad name for the color. Skies aren’t only blue. The sky on the moon is black. The sky on Mars is pinkish-red. Even the sky on earth isn’t blue all the time.
This room held fourteen chairs. They looked like regular desk chairs, with armrests and wheels. The only difference was that there were buckle straps hanging down from the side of the chairs.
Arnold clapped his hands, “Alright! There are chairs just like these on the ship. They lock into the floor for take off and landing. Everyone get into a chair!”
The kids did.
Arnold continued, “The only thing you guys have to do when launch and landing happen is put on the headset and safety glasses and strap yourselves in. Now, let’s practice.”
A collective groan went up from the group of kids.
“Come on! You have to practice at least ONCE!” Arnold whined, so everyone grabbed a headset and glasses, put them on, and sat in the seats.
Then Cece and the others bucked the straps. Arnold clapped his hands.
“Very, very good job everyone!”
And so everyone hopped out of their seats. Declan grabbed Cece’s hand again, and pulled her out the door.
“Come on! We finally get to see the ship!”

Carlisle Cullen x Y/n Solace (Sister Of Will)
Y/n’s POV
I walked to the meeting room of the hospital I was about to start working at. It was a miracle, honesty, that I was still alive. After the horrors of the war against Gaia when I was 16, I went to college.
Medical college. I graded top of my class at 19. That gained me a lot of unwanted attention. From humans and monsters. So I settled for a hospital job in a small town my family had grown up in. (My mom’s side, of course) Forks. Where people seemed to get hurt more often than not.
I wondered. Was this a demigod town?
Once I stepped into the meeting room, the supervisor said in a cheery voice;
“There she is! Everyone, meet Y/n Solace! She’s going to be the newest doctor on the day shift and sometimes the night shift if needed.”
I waved, and sat down. Everyone cheered enthusiastically.
“We have a very supportive staff here. I would like you to meet Carlisle Cullen, the other supervisor doctor you will be working with here.”
Carlisle raised his hand slightly. I glanced at him, and nodded my head. He was like nothing I’ve ever seen. Pale, with flawless skin, blonde hair and amber eyes, he looked like a portrait. It was odd.
“Dr. Solace, will you please follow me?” One of the other doctors asked.
“Of course…”
“Adam O’Conner.”
“Dr. O’Conner.”
He lead me up a flight of stairs, and into a medium sized room.
“Here is your office.”
“Thanks.”
“I’ll leave you to get settled in. And, when you’re done, your shift starts. Apologies, but we have to get you on the job right away.”
“Oh, of course. I understand.”
I unpack my things, and opened the windows. The foggy day was dreary outside the glass. That was sort of sad for me, as my dad was the god of the sun, but what can you do? I slipped on my coat, pulled my hair into a bun, and sat down at my desk.
The rest of the day was uneventful, until twilight. It came at 8:30 that night. I was drinking a cup of coffee to stay awake for the last half hour of the shift. (My shift goes from 9am-9pm. Carlisle’s goes through 9pm-9am)
Dr. O’Conner ran into my room.
“We have a code red approaching. The ambulance will be here in two minutes.”
I grabbed my stuff, and ran to the emergency operation room. They were wheeling in a girl, around my age, whose leg was torn up, and she was screaming about fire. Fire in her leg, and to please make it go away. Her arm was bent at an odd angle.
“CLEAN IT NOW!” I yelled, and grabbed out my tools, “Then leave her in the room. I work best alone.”
As the others did just that, I looked at her bite. Without the blood surrounding it, it looked like an animal bite. But none I’ve ever seen before. And there. Under the sterile scent, I could smell venom. A different type of venom, but venom all the same.
As they wheeled her into a room, I made a tourniquet, so the poison wouldn’t spread too fast. I needed time to work. I muttered a healing spell that I had learned from my father a long time ago. A healing spell.
I watched as a grey liquid started to remove itself from her leg and into a small vial. The more removed, the more tired I got. Once it was all out, she stopped screaming. Well, about the fire anyway.
I sanitized her leg, then took a picture for later reference. Then I stitched it up the best I could, strapped it down and wrapped it in bandages.
“I’m really sorry honey, but this is going to hurt,” I whispered.
Quickly, I snapped her arm back into position. She let out a shrill scream.
“I know, I know, but it’s over now.”
I put her arm in a cast. The door opened.
“Dr. Solace? Do you need help?” A small nurse named Jade asked.
“No, I’ve removed the poison she was bitten with, stitched her leg, stopped the bleeding for now, and re-set her broken arm,” I smiled tiredly, “She’ll survive.”
“What bit her?”
I thought, and decided to give her the answer she would believe.
“A snake, I think.”
“Ah.”
We wheeled the girl outside the room, where Jade gave her an IV, and she fell asleep. Carlisle ran through the emergency room doors.
“I heard there was something wrong.”
I smiled at him.
“It’s taken care of, Dr. Cullen. Thanks to Dr. Solace! This girl would have died without her!” Jade says.
“Thank you Jade, but I did the bare minimum. Now, I must get this vile back to my office to make absolutely sure what bit her wasn’t deadly.”
“Of course!” Jade says, and the crowd starts to disperse.
Carlisle’s POV~
The smell hit me like a freight train. The thing stored in the bottle Y/n was holding was venom. Vampire venom. And she was going to study it! The girl had been attacked by a vampire!
But how did Y/n get it out of the girl in the first place? That’s impossible to do unless another vampire sucks it out of the victim’s body. Is Y/n Solace a vampire?
I stepped in front of her.
“I can take that from you and send it to the lab. You look like you need some sleep.”
She raised her eyebrow at me.
“Oh no. I’m not going to take it to the lab.”
It was my turn to raise my eyebrow.
“What are you doing to with it then?”
“I also have a degree in Biochemistry. I’m going to find out what thing this type of venom comes from.”
“It could be dangerous.”
I felt worry, anger and concern well up inside me. It was. Vampire venom in human hands is incredibly dangerous.
“I assure you, I will be careful. You should get going. Your shift started two minutes ago,” Y/n says, and points to the clock.
Then she walks away. Dang it. This is going to be disastrous. And I can’t do anything without revealing what I am.
Y/n’s POV~
Now I’m sure something’s up. Carlisle wanted to stop me. This is not going to end well.
When I get to my house, I carefully put the vial down in the basement, and start getting out books. The animal bite looked like none I had ever seen before. So I started with that. It look hours. Luckily, demigod children, especially those of Apollo, have learned to work on low sleep.
Finally, I found something. A drawing that looked like the bite the girl had gotten. The caption said; “The fresh bite of a vampire”.
I stopped. That would make sense. I delved back into vampire research. It started to become clearer.
“A bite of a vampire with venom causes the victim to be turned into a vampire. The process takes around 3 days, and the entire time, the victim is in so much pain, they are wishing for death. Once the venom reaches the heart there is no turning back. The heart will stop beating…”
I couldn’t read on. I was lucky I did the spell when I did. But I had my answer now. There were vampires in this town. And dangerous ones in fact. I looked at the venom, and picked it up. Then, I labeled it, and put it on my wall of ingredients.
After eating dinner, I went up to my bedroom. I got on my pajamas and slipped into my bed. I was just about to drift to sleep, when I felt a cold breeze from my window, and a soft voice that sounded vaguely familiar whispered;
“What have you gotten yourself into young one?”

Do You Love Me Enough To Let Me Go?
Part 2~ Requested (This was really fun)
Volturi Kings X Demigod!Reader
Reader’s POV~
I ran out of the palace, thinking.
Can’t fight in my current condition. Bullshit, I’m perfectly fine.
I frowned, and whistled for Spitfire. She came down quick.
“Calling so soon?” She whinnied, “What’s up boss?”
“Giant attack,” I growled, and hopped on her back.
“I take the talk didn’t go so well?” She asked as she launched into the sky.
I could see the doors to the clock tower bursting open and the three kings running out. The day was cloudy, and the sun wasn’t poking through. They were safe. I unconsciously sighed in relief. Then I shook myself and we flew higher.
“Treasure!” Aro held out his hand, and I Spitfire held steady.
“What?” I muttered, knowing he could hear me.
“We’re sorry! We should have just accepted you!”
I glared at him and summoned my weapon.
“Talk to the trident. Let’s go Spitfire!”
We flew into the clouds, and I felt the pull on my heart. I ignored it. I put away my trident. There were more pressing matters. It only took me ten minutes to fly to Camp Jupiter.
I landed, but saw no giants, but all of the kids were suited up in amour, and standing in formation. I walked around until I found Reyna.
“Hey.”
“Oh thank goodness. Scouts saw three giants headed this way!” She looked worried.
“[Name]!” A familiar voice called.
I turned around in time to catch a massive hug from Benjamin.
“What are you doing here so soon?” He asked.
“There’s going to be a giant attack,” I replied, “I’m here to fight.”
The ground started to shake. Reyna looked at me.
“Go get ready.”
I ran to the armory, and put on my personal armor. (Armor below.) My favorite part about this armor was that it was light and flexible. The downside was it wasn’t very strong metal.
I strapped on an extra sword and headed out to battle. The giants were already there, and Camp Jupiter was at war.
“Where are the gods?” I shouted to Reyna, who was holding back another line of demigods.
“They haven’t arrived yet!”
I sighed, and started praying.
Hey dad. It’s me, [Name]. I haven’t asked for much, but I need you to help me now. Help me save Camp Jupiter.
A glowing blue trident appeared above my head, and the giants turned to look. I was disappointed. Dad wouldn’t be coming. He would show up for Percy. But this was no time to be angry. I had some giants to fight. I hopped onto my Pegasus and charged.
I poked two eyes out with my trident, but couldn’t get a deadly hit. It got worse and worse. More and more campers got wounded. Around the middle of the fight, one of the campers had managed to call in her mother, Iris, but she wasn’t much help. We were losing. Badly.
I had just swooped in for another jab at the first giant’s face when I was knocked out of the air by a massive hand. I braced for impact as I flew towards the ground. I was caught by a pair of cold hands. I looked up to see Marcus. Aro and Caius were already hacking at the giant who had tossed me.
“You okay darling?” He asked, placing me on my feet.
I nodded. Then we both ran into the battle. It went uphill from there. With my mates’ help, we managed to drive the giants back until they turned and ran. But before they left, the third giant swung his club. I jumped in front of a younger camper, and my armor was punctured. I flew into a building, cracking the wall.
My mates were all over me. I was losing blood fast. It was painful. Reyna shouted above the chaos.
“GET HER TO THE SEAWATER FOUNTAIN!”
My mates ran me over to the fountain, and placed me in. That was the final thing I remember before I blacked out.
Then I woke up, I was floating in Reyna’s deep seawater fountain, about twenty feet below the surface. My armor had been taken off, and there was a massive tear in my T-short, but I was alive. I could see worried faces looking into the water. I willed the water to push me up and out.
When I broke the surface, a massive arc of water exploded, sending a shower of seawater onto the crowd. The entire camp had come to wait for me. They exploded into cheers, and I was bombarded with hugs. I saw my brother in the crowd and ran to him.
He gave me a big hug.
“Why wasn’t dad here?” Percy asked.
I shrugged, “He never shows up for me. Only you. You’re his favorite.”
“I’m not!” Percy scoffed.
“He gave you his sword. My weapon was forged by Hephaestus because he felt sorry for me. Dad fought Typhon because you asked. You’re his favorite.”
Percy looked sheepish, “Sorry.”
Reyna tapped me on the shoulder,”It’s time you take your place among us.”
She led me to the atrium, and held out the tattoo thingie. I honestly was really trying to pay attention, but ADHD.
“Hold your arm out,” Reyna smiled, “You will become a true member of SPQR.”
“I can’t,” I replied, and grinned at my mates in the crowd, “I belong somewhere else.
Reyna sighed, “Very well then.”
She took a ring off her finger. It was a single band of gold with a purple amethyst. She handed it to me. I look it and it transformed into a gold and purple dagger.
“A smaller weapon. Imperial gold and amethyst. It’s my favorite. Take care of this.”
I hugged her. The crowd was silent, shocked that she would give away her prized weapon. She pulled away quickly. I admired my new knife with cheers from the crowd. Then I turned it back into my new ring. I held my trident up to even more cheers from the crowd.
“[N-ame!] [N-ame!]”
My mates ran up, scooped me up from ten stance, and ran away. When we stopped, we were in the middle of a grape field, next to a cottage.
“This is our vacation home,” Caius explained.
“We need to talk,” I replied.
We sat down on the couch.
“We’re so sorry treasure,” Aro started.
“We realized that this is just who you are,” Caius continued.
I felt the ache in my heart release.
“And we love you, everything about you,”
Marcus finished.
I gave them a four-way hug.
“I forgive you guys. And I promise, no more secrets.”
“Now that’s settled,” Caius pulled me into his lap, “We have some more scores to settle.”

Do You Love Me Enough To Let Me Go? (Volturi Kings X Demigod!Reader)
I’m [Name] Jackson. The daughter of Poseidon, the sister of Percy Jackson, and the mate of three powerful vampire kings. I had managed to keep the fact that I battled ancient monsters a secret from my three kings. This was quite the accomplishment, as Aro could read thoughts, Caius always wanted bloodshed (I had seen enough of that), and Marcus was the most attuned to me out of all of them.
But the day they found out could not be avoided forever. I had received a call from Reyna, leader of Camp Jupiter, asking me to take care of a Manticore who was searching for a new demigod on a costal village near Volterra.
“I’m going out!” I declared to no one in particular, as the vampires could probably hear.
Two seconds later, my best friend Jane was right in front of me.
“Where are you going?” Jane asked.
“Out!” I replied cheerfully.
“Can I come?”
“No, sorry, I need some alone time. I don’t get that often enough.”
She nodded.
“I understand.”
Once I had walked calmly out of Volterra, I called Spitfire, my Pegasus. She was the opposite of Blackjack, Percy’s Pegasus. She had a creamy white coat, and a mane and wings that looked like a waterfall of gold.
“What’s up my lady?” She asked.
I looked at her with a smile.
“We’re going to save a young demigod!”
I hopped onto her back and she shot up into the sky. Around 20 minutes later, we descended upon a town that was gorgeous. Spitfire and I saw the monster immediately. It was backing a boy around 13 into a corner.
“DIVE!” I shouted, and Spitfire did exactly that.
I summoned my trident. Grabbing the boy by the collar, and we were whisked back into the air by Spitfire.
“WHO ARE YOU?” He screamed.
“I’m [Name] Jackson. Daughter of Poseidon, and your savior. You’re a demigod right?”
He looked at me.
“I thought children of the big three didn’t exist!” He said.
The manticore started to fly for us.
“You have basic knowledge. Great. Now stay out of the way,” I said, and I jumped off of Spitfire.
The manticore spit fire at me, and I barely avoided it. Using one lunge of my trident, I took off its scorpion tail. It screeched. Problem one taken care of.
“WATCH OUT!” I heard a voice from above, and I ducked.
An arrow whizzed right next to my arm and tore a hole in my shirt. I felt a sting.
“YOU HIT ME KID!”
“I’M SORRY!”
I jumped off the manticore, and fell towards the ocean. The monster growled, and followed me.
I summoned a title wave, and the thing lunged for me. It left a gash in my left leg.
“FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!” I screeched.
That was the final straw. I stabbed my trident into the middle of the beast and it exploded into monster dust. I used the water to propel myself up and did a flip up onto Spitfire.
“You okay my lady?” She asked.
I looked at my leg.
“My leg is a bit torn up,” I replied.
The kid looks at it and cringed.
“I can help! I can heal things!”
I looked at him.
“Are you a child of Apollo?” I asked.
“Yeah, I think so.”
“You can try, but if you can’t, I’m going to heal myself with the water.”
I pulled off my backpack as Spitfire landed us on the beach. I ate some ambrosia, and gave the kid some bandages and a sterilization pad.
“What’s your name kid?” I asked, as he wiped down my wound.
“Benjamin. I’m a son of Phoebus, the roman version of Apollo.”
He held his hands over my leg, and his is started to glow a little. Strands of light wrapped around the wound, and it started to close. Once it was fully healed, Benjamin collapsed onto the sand, panting.
“Thank you,” I said, testing it out.
“You’re welcome,” he replied.
“Kid, we gotta get you to Camp Jupiter. Do you have a bag?” I asked.
“I do,” he said, and then ran off towards one of the houses on the beach.
He returned five minutes later with a backpack and a suitcase. I helped him up onto Spitfire and grabbed his suitcase. Then we were off.
“Wow,” he breathed.
“Yeah,” I replied.
He stayed silent for a while as we flew through the clouds.
“How do you exist?” He asked, “Children of the big three are not supposed to exist!”
I sigh.
“I’m a breach of the treaty. You know the saying: ‘Every time a child of the big three is born, the gods flip a coin, and the world holds its breath?’” I asked.
He nodded, and I continued.
“I was allowed to live with my brother, Percy. Oh! Here we are!” I said, as we descended below the clouds onto Camp Jupiter.
I saw a squadron of campers with Reyna at the front. I landed, and hopped off Spitfire. I grabbed Benjamin’s suitcase, and helped the kid slip off Spitfire.
“This is Benjamin, he’s a kid of Phoebus,” I said.
“Alright. Let’s go, young recruit. Thank you [Name],” she nodded at me, and I hopped up on my Pegasus.
“Goodbye!” I said, gave Reyna a salute, and took off into the clouds.
Flying through the clouds, I felt more alive than I have in a while. I love my kings, but, they get a little over-protective. I need my own time and space.
I touched own, and put my head to Spitfire’s.
“I’ll miss you girl,” I whispered.
“When will I see you again?” She asked.
“I’m not sure girl. I’ll get out soon,” I replied, and she nodded her head and took off.
I walked through the streets of Volterra until I reached the clock tower. Once I slipped inside, Caius was immediately pulling me into his arms.
“Where have you been?” He demanded.
“I needed some alone time,” I replied.
Marcus strode up to us, using a human speed as not to frighten me. He noticed the tear in my shirt, and the barely healed scar immediately.
“What happened? Are you alright?”
I looked down at my arm.
“Oh yeah. I tripped. I’m alright now, it’s just a scratch.”
Marcus raised his eyebrow..
“You tripped huh? We should keep a closer eye on you.”
Caius picked me up, and sped me to the throne room, where Aro and the others were waiting for Heidi to bring in a tour group.
“Why don’t you wait in your room while the tour group comes in?” Marcus asked, and without waiting for an answer, he sped me away.
I started to miss it then. The freedom I had, the force I was, before I met my mates. As I sat on my bed, I remembered that fateful day with vivid clarity.
It had been a long month of monster slaying, grabbing new campers, and training them. Percy had been off on some sacred quest, which I wasn't allowed on for some bullshit reason. Reyna had known that I hated being cooped up, and invited me to stay at camp Jupiter for a while, and improve my fighting teqniques. At the time, I had hated the pity she had given me, but gladly took the out.
The plane ride was the most boring thing. Once I had landed in Rome, a camper came to get me. He was genuinely nice, and I found myself thinking maybe we could talk more later; if we had the time. I had trained with Reyna as an honored guest for a while, by after a few days, she instead I go and take a break. That was how I found myself in Volterra.
The town was charming on the outside, with its winding cobblestone roads and amazing architecture. I parked my car outside and went exploring. Around noon, I saw that the other tourists were gathering in front of the clock tower, which was giving out free tours. I gladly signed up, happy to experience something new. Looking back, I wonder if that was such a great idea.
The moment I stepped through the doors, I felt that something was wrong. The lady who was offering the tours was paler than any normal human, and her eyes were blood red. I got a suspicious feeling, and a slight ache in my chest, but chocked it up to my demigod nerves and ADHD.
The further in we walked, the more the pain in my cheese worsened, and the feeling of impending doom drew closer as well. The woman had stopped, and turned around to give us, the our group, a cruel smile on her face. She was standing in front of two large doors.
“Your tour ends here,” was what I thought she said, but my body was now so wracked with pain that I couldn't keep up the façade of being okay for much longer.
As she threw open the doors, another spasm of pain had laced itself over my body, and almost brought me to my knees. I could hear the others screaming, but it sounded distant, as black spots started to dance in the corners of my vision. I felt something beside me, cold hands around my throat. And then...
“STOP!” a voice rang out, clear as a bell.
That we the last thing I heard as everything went back, and the pain subsided as some on caught me.
I later learned that Marcus as seen my connection to the three of them as their mate, and had come to rescue me. Apparently, pain is a common symptom of coming near your mate(s) for the first time. After Marcus had verified my connection to the three of them, I was told everything. They had debated changing me then and there, but I wanted to stay human for a bit longer.
I got changed into a new long sleeve shirt and cargo pants, and my other ones had both been ripped. Trying to tune out the screaming of the group, I grabbed a book and sat down. I tried to read it, but my brain tried to turn it to Greek. I sighed, and as the screaming had finished, I went to ask the boys if I could go to their library. Another thing I needed permission for.
I walked into the throne room, and most of the bodies had been cleared.
“Hey, I was wondering if…” I started, when I noticed an old woman cowering in the corner.
She looked at me, and I saw her eyes. The glowing yellow eyes of a Fury.
“Oh shit,” I muttered.
Before anyone could do anything, I had pulled my trident, and she had transformed into her full form.
And then she screeched and lunged.
“AGAIN? THIS IS THE SECOND TIME TODAY!” I screeched at her.
“YOU MANAGED TO GET AWAY BEFORE?!??” She screeched right back at me.
“Gods!” I screamed, and then; “Fuck! Ah! Shit! No, no, no, no, no, no, no! Bitch! Shit! What?!?! Fucking gods! Wait. Fuck you! Fuck no! Bitch! Don’t fucking mess with me you piece of shit! I’ll fucking stab your parents!”
This was the dialogue of the fight. You’re probably wondering why my mates did not step in. The fury had flown me off the brown and we were hovering in mid-air. Honestly, they really tried, but apparently, furies are resistant to the gifts of the witch twins.
“[NAME] WHAT IS GOING ON?” I thought I heard Caius yell.
But I wasn’t completely sure, because I was cursing out a fury, and getting my leg clawed up by a fury. Yay.
I finally got my trident into her head after a few minutes of struggle (me purposely falling, her snatching me up multiple times), and she burst into monster dust.
I fell. Someone caught me, and I was very grateful. Until I saw WHO had caught me.
Aro.
He had a far-away look in his eyes and was staring at me. I took this time to wiggle away, and drop to the ground. No one spoke for a moment. Then Aro carefully placed me down on the ground, though I could tell he really didn't want to.
Everything was silent, for a moment. Then, I turned around and headed straight for my room. The others seemed too stunned to do anything as I walked away, my blood from my clawed leg spattering the floor.
When I walked back into my room, I reached for my backpack. I pulled out a square of ambrosia and some bandages. Hissing at the pain, I quickly dabbed the blood off my leg, and wrapped it. I popped the square in my mouth, and the comforting taste of my mom’s apple pie flooded my senses.
I sighed, and when I noticed my mates had not rejoined me, I started backing my bag. Why would they want me now? Knowing I had lied to them, and thought it would have been better if I never met them. And certainly, if they did keep me around, they would watch me every day, all hours, and keep me in here.
I need to be able to leave the castle. To go visit my brother and my father. To be able to fight. I adjusted my ring (my trident in passive form), and threw in some extra items. As I was reaching for the doorknob, the door flew open. I backflipped back onto the bed, using the momentum to grab one of the wooden ceiling beams, and flip myself onto it. I landed in a Spider-Man pose, and it was very cool, if I do say so myself.
“How could you?” Caius had started yelling, but I wasn’t really listening. ADHD. “You lied to me! You lied to all of us! You’re the daughter of an actual god, and you didn’t tell us!”
Marcus put a hand on her shoulder, “Caius, calm yourself. Give darling a chance to explain herself.”
All three looked at me, and I was still on the ceiling beam.
“I never lied to you,” I started, “You never specifically asked if I wasn’t human. And, I never volunteered the information. And second, a real god?”
I knew if I wanted them to let me go, I would have to really hurt all of them. I needed my freedom, and I won’t get that here.
“I know you all fancy yourselves gods. And with you being thousands of years older than me, and practically invincible, I could see why you’ve developed that superiority complex. But, I am closer to a god than you could ever be. And that may be the problem.”
Caius looked shocked, and he took a step back. Taking that as my signal, I turned to Marcus and Aro.
“You two are always on my back, always watching me! You never allow me any time for me, and try to keep me here like your own personal prisoner! Why do you think I didn’t share my secret with you? You’ll just use it as an excuse to restrict my freedom even more!”
Aro takes a step towards me, “Little treasure, I am sorry that we have kept you here. You know we worry about you, and with what I have seen, that worry was in the right place.”
That. Was. It.
“So, just because you’re worried about me, you’re going to destroy my life and keep me isolated from my friends!?!? What kind of mates do that?!? I know you know this, but I’m NOT HUMAN. I’ve fought in two wars, one against the lord of the universe and titan of time, and the other against THE LITERAL EARTH. I’m not fragile, I’m not breakable. And you can’t seem to accept that, so-“
I was cut off by a rainbow appearing in front of me, and Reyna’s face popping out. She looked frantic.
“Y/n! I know you need your alone time, but you need to come back right now! There’s an emergency! The giants are back!”
Reyna was never frantic. And giants. Fuck.
“I’m coming,” I said, my tone cold as ice.
My mates looked like they were about to protest, but I shot them a glare as the rainbow dissipated. Aro grabbed my arm.
“Treasure, you can’t fight in your condition!”
“This is exactly why I’m leaving,” I hissed, “Because you three don’t love me enough to let me go.”
I could feel the pain in my heart that happened the first day I met them. I wrenched my arm out of his grasp, and then bolted outside. The farther I got away, the more pain there was. But that didn’t matter. I had to help my friends.

This is amazing! Give it some love! I am no Helen!
No Trojan War
I am no Helen, whose face launched a thousand ships,
No war will rage for me, no battle-cry from eager lips.
My quiet presence doesn't stir a nation's ancient ire,
No walls will fall, consumed by love's relentless fire.
I am no Guinevere, with kings and knights in tragic strife,
No kingdom's fate will bend or break upon my life.
No Lancelot will risk his honor, or his crown,
For just one glance, one moment, should my gaze fall down.
No Catherine waits upon a lonely, windswept moor,
For a wild, dark love that knocks upon a bolted door.
No frantic Othello, blinded by a jealous rage,
Will write my name across a bloody, final page.
They courted Bathsheba and pursued Elizabeth with grace.
For me, no ardent suitor seeks his destined place.
No Scarlett charm, no fiery will to hold men near,
No grand obsession conquers doubt or calms a lover's fear.
I am no Juliet, for whom a rival's blood is spilled,
No desperate vow, no potion taken, no grave tragically filled.
My heart beats soft, my days unfold in gentle, common light,
No epic passion burns through history's dark night.
I won't be fought for, bled for, or won from a desperate plea,
No armies march, no kingdoms fall, for simply loving me.
All I will be, in the end, is a quiet echo,
A forgotten line in the tragedy written, that was trying to mimic my love story.

Mission Europa ~ Chapter 3
Clang!
Cece sat up with a start.
Clang!
She heard the groans of all the other girls around her.
Clang!
Is that a cowbell?“UP AND AT ‘EM SUNSHINES!”
The wonderful, musical voice of Trish.
“Today we have a lot to dooooO!” She sang the last word, “You have training today!”
Cece flopped back down on her bed and sighed. It wasn’t even daybreak yet, she could have seen the stars if the lights inside hadn’t been so dang bright. She heard the shuffling of other bodies as the girls got out of their beds. Trish was passing something out. Then;
“Come on Cece, up and at ‘em! I have a special uniform for you!”
I do not want to ‘Up and at ‘em’.
Cece looked over the side of the bed. The girl was standing there, practically shaking with energy. That couldn’t be healthy.
Is she on drugs?
Sighing, Cece quickly climbed down the ladder and took the bundle of cloth from Trish’s arms.
It was a dark blue jumpsuit, with a zipper in the back. It had her name embroidered into the side, over her chest. Cece thought that she had seen something like this before, in an old museum showing what people used to wear for space missions.
“Delaney…?” Cece quietly asked, approaching the girl.
Please don’t get mad, please don’t get mad…
“What?”
“I can look at your knee now, if you want.”
“It doesn’t really hurt.”
“...All the same.”
Delaney rolled up her suit pant leg. It wasn’t too bad, just a small bruise. It was a small mixture of purple and yellow, but nothing more. She touched it, and Delaney didn’t flinch. Cece straightened up.
“Just be a little lighter on that knee. You’ll be okay,” she gave a small smile.
Cece went into the bathroom, and changed into the suit. She tried to zip up the back, but her arms wouldn’t twist back that far.
“Girl? You good in there?” an unfamiliar voice called through the door, while knocking.
“...I can’t zip it up,” Cece called back, softly.
“Come outside, I’ll help.”
She stepped outside. The girl standing there was pretty, for lack of a better word. She had skin the color of hot chocolate, dark brown hair, and chocolate eyes. She looked Kenyan. She stood tall, and towered over Cece.
“I’m Kawria Dlamini, I’m on the robotics, BOT team, whatever you want to call it.”
Cece turned around, and Kawria zipped up the back.
“...Thanks,” Cece whispered, then turned around and grabbed one of her hair ties, and the gold and pink rimmed glasses she was wearing the day before.
Trish knocked on the door to the room.
“Are you all ready? The boys are, so we can go get breakfast!”
The girls walked out to meet them, and together, the big group walked back down the grey halls to the cafeteria. They sat at the same places as before. Bowls of lettuce, carrots and tomato were placed in front of them.
“And peanuts on the side,” Brea whispered, and sure enough, a bowl of peanuts was placed in the middle of the table.
“How did you know?” Cece whispered back.
“They serve us this every morning. When we get on the ship, I’ll show this group what REAL cooking looks like.”
A boy, the same one that said last night’s dinner; “wasn’t half bad”, chuckled, “Are you going on about your skills again, B?”
That started a heated argument that Cece really didn’t want to be a part of.
“Well if you…!”
“I can cook better!”
“Oh really…?!”
“You can take that…!”
“Shove it up your…!”
Cece ate her salad. The sun was starting to rise, looking like a supernova in slow motion. She adjusted her glasses, and fiddled with the hair tie on her wrist, twisting it into shapes.
If you play with the hair tie on your wrist, you won’t scratch your skin, okay? Cece mentally told herself, while yawning.
“You okay Cece?” she heard the voice of Makena behind her.
“...Yeah.”
Makena turned to her, excited to finally have someone to talk to.
“I’m so happy! We all get to have training today. And see the ship! I overheard Trish saying that the launch will be tomorrow if all goes well.”
“Tomorrow?” Neoma interrupted, “Isn’t that a little too soon? I mean, none of us know anything about space travel, or how to deal with zero gravity and the like.”
“That’s true,” Makena looked thoughtful, “But, we have the latest technology, and I’ve been talking with Arlo, they have a really great power core. It’s rumored to have the same energy level as a star. And that powers the ship. So with that, we’ll have gravity, and not need any Zero-G training, like astronauts used to need.”
“That is correct, young Kena!” Trish popped out of nowhere, “All the training you’ll need will be done today, because all the training you’ll need is for lift-off, re-entry to the Mars atmosphere, and the signals and codes you’ll need! You’ll also meet the mission control team, but they don’t do much.”
Makena turned back to the group as Trish walked away to talk with a man that had entered the room.
“I don’t like her,” she whispered to Cece.
“Why?” Cece whispered back.
“She’s positive.”
“You’re positive.”
Why did I say that? What if it sounded too mean? What if she doesn’t like me anymore?
“I know, but her positivity feels wrong. Like it’s forced somehow. When one of us is feeling down, she acts like we don’t even exist,” Makena continued, unaware of Cece’s internal freakout.
But, the minute Makena said that, Cece noticed too. Trish’s smile didn’t reach her eyes. She never actually made eye contact with any of the kids. Her voice went a little higher whenever she talked about the launch, or the things they had to do. How odd.
Trish clapped her hands.
“Attention. Attention!”
The chatter quieted down, and everyone turned to look at her.
“I would like to welcome…” she paused for dramatic effect, “Your amazing mission control captain… Ryan Arnold!”
Trish made jazz hands in front of the man that she had been talking to. There was one pair of hands clapping. And even that quickly died out.
“Hey guys,” Arnold sat down at the end of the table, “I know this is scary, and extremely new.”
The group of kids muttered disagreements.
Actually, it is scary. But I can’t say that! All of the others would make fun of me!
“Well, anyway, I’m going to be the one training you today!” he flashed them a toothy smile. His teeth were perfect, in straight lines, and perfectly white. Another perfect thing. “As you know, I’ve commanded and been on many space missions in my time in the SWASA. You’ll know all you need to know by the time I’m through with you kids!”
He got up, and beconded for the group to follow. They did, begrudgingly. Cece found herself walking next to a boy. He was pale, with freckles, and black hair that ended in blue tips. His eyes were emerald green.
“You are Cece, right?” he asked, and he had a pronounced French accent.
She looked up and smiled, “Yeah, that’s me.”
“I am Adrien. I apologize for mishaps, English is not my first language. In fact, that is so for most of us here, even though the official language of the solar system is English.”
‘No, no… you’re.. you’re good,” Cece muttered, awkwardly.
“OKAY KIDS!” Arnold shouted.
They had been gathered in a small classroom.
