I fucking HATE AI. Viscerally.

Seriously it used to not be that bad but the last year or two? Infuriating. I GET ACCUSED OF BEING AI ALL THE TIME.

My papers for university get flagged as AI generated and automatically graded as a zero. My online posts on other websites get comments saying stuff like “this is ai generated” or “you forgot an em dash”. Like IM SORRY I CAN WRITE AT MY AGE LEVEL WHEN I CHOOSE TO. SORRY I KNOW HOW TO USE AN EM DASH. MY BAD. LEMME JUST HAVE EVERY SENTENCE BE A RUN ON. LEMME NOT CAPITALIZE ANYTHING.

I had to go to my criminal law professor and show him my printed, highlighted, annotated references for my paper. I had to turn track changes on in Word just to prove I wrote my own papers. Online I get accused of being AI for no other reason than commenting on a post with proper grammar and spelling. I WILL THROW MYSELF OFF A CLIFF ISTG.

My Instagram account that I regularly post and comment on has been flagged as a bot and temp banned. TWICE.

helloooo, OSDD-explainer anon again, figured I may as well respond to what you said under that first ask I sent.

The differences between them seem so blurry because they are very blurry. My best guess on why they're different diagnosises at all is related to how diagnosing DID has changed over time. The old DID diagnosis was pretty limited in what fell under it and who could be diagnosed with it (e.g. the diagnosing doctor had to witness and recognise you switching in order to diagnose you, while these days switches can be self reported or reported by someone who knows you (even if they don't know what a switch is, it's still possible to notice one and use different words for it yk?)). This (both that specific example and the narrower view of what DID could be in general) meant that a lot of cases didn't actually qualify as DID (at least at first) even though they might have been DID. There was still something up with those folks though so DDNOS-1 became a thing. As the DID diagnosis has broadened in what can be classified as DID though OSDD-1/DDNOS-1 become less necessary. To my knowledge (mostly just through what I've observed, though I want to say I've seen some statistics on this at some point? I might be making shit up idk) the OSDD-1 diagnosis is mostly used for systems who would fall under the 1b presentation (having no amnesia) but not often for the 1a presentation, probably because, as you said, deciding or working out where the line between DID alter is and OSDD-1a alter is is very hard (while determining if someone experiences amnesia or not is a bit easier (debatable considering amnesia can be very well hidden but that's not the point of this explanation)). (Also there are other OSDD subtypes (2, 3, and 4 (not often talked about in the system community because they are significantly different from systemhood generally)) and getting rid of one would probably make stuff confusing for the naming of those). So, to recap, as the DSM has been updated DID and OSDD-1 diagnoses have remained in some form but the line between them has been increasingly blurred as understanding of them increases. Or at least that's my guess.
