Cleanser

An alter whose role is to cleanse or clean things, whether this be phone storage, old photos, physical clutter, friend groups, or anything else. This role may also come with being the one who sweeps, mops, deep cleans, does laundry/dishes, or any other household chores involving cleaning.

INTROJECT TERMS WE HAVE COINED (WITHOUT USING "TIVE")

for starters, ive seen people use fictroject and factroject to avoid using fictive and factive because of their ties to endos, so do as you will with that.

MUSIJECT: An introject sourced from music-- whether that's a song, album, genre, lyric or anything else pertaining to music

AESTHEJECT: An introject sourced from an aesthetic of some sort

COLOJECT: An introject sourced from a color / an alter whos identity is based around a specific color

ARTROJECT: An introject sourced from a physical piece of art, like a painting, drawing, sculpture, wood carving, etc.

GAMTROJECT: An introject sourced from a game-- video game, board game, card game, etc.

STORTROJECT: An introject sourced from a story. This story could be verbal or written. The story could be a fairytale, manga, retelling of a real event.

PLATROJECT: An introject sourced from a real or fictional place. The place can be as big as a planet to as small as small as a room (or even bigger/smaller.)

DID/OSDD alter roles we’ve coined! this is just for fun, feel free to use.

inspired by @butterednuttered! all credit to them for the idea, we thought it was really neat and wanted to do our own. i hope this is okay!

CERBERUS: a Cerberus alter guards certain alters, subsystems/sidesystems, or locations in the innerworld. they might keep locations/alters/groups of alters from being discovered, keep alters or groups of alters from interacting, protect locations/alters/groups of alters, etcetera.

GARDENER: a Gardener alter provides long-term care to a specific alter or group of alters. they might act as a therapist, mentor, parent, or caretaker to the alters under their care.

ACADEMIC: an Academic alter is an alter who fronts to handle academia & education such as homework, absorbing information from lectures, study groups, research, etcetera.

HELLFIRE: a Hellfire alter is an anger holder. they might not act on their anger, but they exist to process and feel anger for the system. their anger may be extremely intense and never fully fade due to their role.

JESTER: a Jester alter uses humor in order to diffuse tension. they might tell jokes, pull pranks, pretend to be extremely clumsy, etcetera to get others to laugh at them or with them.

TREASURER: a Treasurer alter is an alter who handles finances for a system. they may do things like hide passwords, budget, make sure others aren’t spending money, etcetera.

MIRROR (specific to autistic systems): a Mirror alter is a form of social protector who mirrors others in order to mask. they might study mannerisms & expressions in media, create and memorize scripts for social situations, absorb and mirror the mannerisms and language of others, etcetera.

HOLLOW: a Hollow alter is an amnesia holder for the system. their amnesia is more intense than baseline for the system, such as experiencing blackout amnesia when the system normally experiences grey-out amnesia.

WATCHER: a Watcher alter is an alter who doesn’t show themself to the others, but is always watching. they may be at the corner of the system’s mind, but other alters may never get a grasp on them unless they choose to reveal themself.

LOCKBOX: a Lockbox alter is a trauma holder who continually takes memories of trauma as they happen and is the only one (or one of a few) who has access to those memories.

WARDEN: a Warden alter enforces rules within the system. they may punish or limit alters who disobey or break rules. some may be persecutors, others protectors.

A role which pretains to an alter who is perpetually aware of front/the body, they do not necessarily have to perpetually be in front (though they can be!!), but they are actively aware of what is going on around the body at the present moment.

Betrayal Holder

A betrayal holder in a system has a few meanings.

- An alter that holds memories of betrayal.

- An alter that deals with betrayals ( in any ways that may connect with their other roles such as avengers being violent to the betrayer )

- An alter that comforts other headmates who are struggling with the betrayal.

- An alter that holds the betrayal to themselves, not letting others know about it.

Trust Holder

A trust holder in a system has a few different meanings.

- An alter that decides who is trustworthy or not ( may go hand in hand with protectors, misguided or not. )

- An alter that is stuck in memories of trust, such as trusting ab*sers, toxic people around you, etc, and may still go on to trust these people while the alter is in front, despite other alter's judgement.

- An alter who is simply very trusting, an alter who is easy to trust others.

- An alter who simply holds the trust the system puts in others. This trust may be let go if the trust is broken in any way.

Punk

An alter who is easily triggered out by debates/arguments related to politics, religion, etc or fronts for these things. An alter that is a punk basically. This role can go alongside any alter type and be added onto any alter role.

SYSTEM ROLES I'VE CLAIMED PART 1 NOTE: These are TRAUMAGENIC EXCLUSIVE terms. We are anti-endo!

ROOT: A root alter is an alter who has connection/communication with most, if not, all of the system. CLOWN: A clown alter is an alter who exists to cheer people up within or outside of the system, often times by joking around/being funny. ANALYST: An analyst alter is an alter who acts like a therapist for members of the system. This tends to happen with a lack of good therapy or therapy at all, and can also occur when an alter needs support quickly. REGRESSOR: A regressor alter is a (typically) little alter who's role to is to front for another alter to mimic age/pet/etc. regression. Regressors usually help the system solely by being young/nonhuman/etc. BOT: A bot alter is an alter that has a database of sorts of the system. It can be general system information, such as information about headspace locations, alters roles, relations, and activity, and other stuff. Usually unrelated to memories or trauma, but can also include that. PROXY: Unlike a proxy for a proxy bot, a proxy alter is an alter who exists to speak on behalf of other alters. Typically these alters front to ease the stress of other alters WARMONGER: A warmonger is an alter who purposefully causes harm, internally and/or externally, knowing it's unhelpful. Warmongers usually don't accept help and can even be considered toxic and/or dangerous. (DISCLAIMER: This role was created with the intent to give a label to a specific type of persecutor. This role is not meant to generalize or harm anyone.) CAMOUFLAGE: A camouflage alter is an alter that masks as other alters in the system, for good or for bad intent. These alters can also convince other system members that they are still fronting, on purpose or otherwise. MEDIATOR: A mediator alter is an alter who mediates a stressful situation unbiasedly and communicates things between the system/alter and the person/people the system is having issues with. KNIGHT: A knight alter is a type of protector who specifically protects friends and family outside of the system.

Biographer

A biographer is an alter who records the lives of alters in the inner world (or outer world, but for us, it's inner world). Those are alters who can enter a headspace that allows them to access memories of other alters and either write them down on paper, or record via audio, or something else that this alter uses to capture those memories in the outer world. It doesn't always mean that the alter is a gatekeeper or that they have access to memories of others 24/7. It usually refers to a dissociative state that this alter enters to record the memories they are getting.

My experience with it because while I'm the host, I'm also our biographer (I have like 14 roles, so don't be surprised):

My presence allows other alters to access their memories better, whether they are inner or outer, although mostly inner.

My dissociative state, or the "writer's headspace," is heavy, and getting in and out of it can cause me splits or headaches. However, if everything goes smooth, it just causes tiredness.

I can access memories of other alters on a daily basis. Sometimes, just small details like their roles, families, preferences, etc.

I have many stories from our early teens and even from when we were 6 bodily that turned put to be biographies of people.

My biography allows me to access the memories only if there's consent. There are some I either refuse to get into or the person can set a boundary that they do not want me to know, and I won't.

My biographies allow us to dive deeper into the inner world and find people we forgot existed. There were multiples times when I reread some of my biographies and realized I named people after already existing alters and had no memory that I did so beforehand.

My presence also gives me the power of compulsion. I can either help people tell the truth about themselves, or I can make them answer my questions about them or anything they know.

Our memory gatekeeper can still limit me if they feel the need to do so, which means I am not a memory gatekeeper. I am an outer world manager, but that doesn't interfere with my biographer job.

I wrote a book with 69,220 words and 17 chapters depicting a part of my own inner world story. It also talks about dissociative amnesia, suppressed memories, and other stuff that I didn't realize was a projection of unawareness of DID.

I can tell when alters are lying or telling the truth. Others told me they can't do it as well as me.

I recorded multiple biographies via audio when I couldn't put them on paper.

A while ago, I started a book and accidentally summoned a person to front because I didn't realize I was writing about somebody who is present in our system.

I accidentally gave one of our fictives a very interesting issue because I was projecting dissociative amnesia and my unawareness of DID on paper, and now they gained it and have to live with it. Also with the memories from that fanfiction.

Some things I wrote were more of a "what I wanted it to be" rather than what actually happened.

It helps me connect with alters, especially new alters, because I find out what they've been through, what they hold, what they're like, and therefore I know how to approach and accommodate them. Which I also then show to others (how to work with them, not the memories) and establish communication between them and the rest of the system.

(This is not all but all that I can remember right now)
