Project Angelonia Day 2!

Hi everyone!

Today I worked on a lot in regards to this project!

I started plotting out Act 1, figured out three characters & their roles and I also have a slightly in depth view of my main character (the POV the story will be told from), although I am not sure if I want to make this novel dual POV.

Anyways... Meet Avaia Lovelace!

Avaia is a pretty quiet girl due to spending most of her childhood in consumed in her own mind and daydreams. She has Hyperphantasia which means that she an abundance of mental imagery. I don't want to talk too much about the concept of the story, but this "condition" (I only put it in quotations because I don't want it to sound like I'm looking down on people who have this and it's not considered a clinical condition or disorder) will be enhanced and turned into a sort of "superpower" by the government (it's a dystopian story.)

I feel like she'll be an interesting character to dive into since she is always in her own head and not really in the present.

For more context, the situation she'll be put in will force her out of her mind, and I feel like her growth as a character will surround that.

I also think that the introduction of her love interest will push that barrier of her using her mind to escape her realities.

Anyway! I'm excited to write about her story and her journey, and I've decided that my goal is to work my ass off this week for at least 2 hours a day to try to get the entire plot, worldbuilding, and the rest of my important characters complete so I can start drafting!

She's Backkk

Hi guys! It's been a minute :)

I'm back working on Project Angelonia after months of writers & readers block whilst having no inspiration at all.

I guess part of it was school kicking my behind lol, but I'm back with many ideas and I'm ready to work and update you all.

here's another thing: I've made a wattpad account! I think when I really get to work with this project I'll post it on there!

Here are a few updates in regards to Project Angelonia!

It's now a urban fantasy novel! - Still takes place in NYC though.

I've moved my "Story bible" document to notion (I like how aesthetic it is)

I want it to be slightly dystopian, and I've decided to make the characters closer to 18.

It's not much of an update, but it's something!

Blog Series Intro!

Project Angelonia - Day one

Hello everyone!

Today, I'm starting a series on my blog where I take you all through my writing journey.

I've decided to start fresh with a new project:

Project Angelonia

-"Souls don't meet by accident."

Project Angelonia will be a summer-time coming of age story that takes place in NYC during the 2000's.

Here's the aesthetic of the general story.

Typically, when I begin writing from a new story idea, I create a story bible where all my information is and I do sort of a mind dump.

That's how the doc is looking right now. I did a basic google search about what the coming of age genre is supposed to consist of, but I will do more in depth research (google/sources + reading coming of age stories) later.

I do have a general idea of a plot, and most of my stories come from random scene ideas that come either in my dreams or when I'm daydreaming lol.

Next I create a section for the big idea of my story. It's basically me typing out what I remember from the dream or thought that sparked my idea.

I think that's it for the day! I like to take my time when planning out stories because the planning stage molds the story (in my opinion.) I feel like if I don't plan decently, I will not be able to tell the story I want to tell.

As you can already tell: Girl, interrupted is my favorite book/movie ever!

Anyways, Hi! My name is Devori (Vori for short.) I'm sixteen years old living in the U.S and I guess I wanted to start or join a little multi-topic community!

my interests are writing, reading (mostly fantasy novels), music, art collecting, true crime, world issues (+ politics although I feel like i'm more of a bystander when it comes to that), and honestly my interests change too much, so honestly there's no point in trying to list them all out.

On this blog I'll post whatever I want, but I'll mainly center around writing and reading, but there will probably be posts outside of that criteria from time to time :)

So yeah! That's me. I'm not really sure what else to put on this post, but I guess you all will learn a little more about me as I post :P
