One of the greatest things I learned in college about CREATIVITY was this: When it comes to getting creative/writing/coming up with content/imagining new characters or storylines, etc, the best thing you can do for yourself is to STEP AWAY from the COMPUTER. Just power that bitch down all together and give both parties a rest. Sit with a pad of paper and a pencil instead! . Many times, when we sit in front of our computers and try to come up with new ideas, we hold ourselves hostage by staring at a little box and demanding that we be brilliant -- and then get bummed when nothing flows. . Step outside that box, my friends! Get screen free. Get out of the house. Get some fresh air. Go take a walk. Move your body. And yeah... bring a pad of paper and a pen with you! Your awesome new ideas will thank you! :-) . What an absolutely perfect day in the park today to mark my official 1 year acroversary! Last Memorial Day weekend I stumbled up to my first Cheesman Park jam and met my Denver family. .
