Tarot and Wishful Thinking: 5 Tips For An Accurate Reading
Tarot reading is a fascinating and often enlightening practice that offers insight into various aspects of our lives. Whether you're a seasoned reader or a curious beginner, you're likely familiar with the allure of seeking answers, guidance, or clarity through the mystical cards. However, when interpreting tarot readings, it's essential to distinguish between genuine intuitive guidance and the potential pitfall of wishful thinking. In this blog post, we'll explore the delicate balance between tarot reading and wishful thinking and how to approach your readings with clarity and authenticity.
Tumblr media
The Allure of Tarot Readings:
Tarot cards have a unique way of tapping into our subconscious thoughts and emotions. They provide a mirror to our inner worlds, reflecting both our fears and desires. This insight can be incredibly empowering, as it allows us to make informed decisions and understand the paths available to us. However, it's important to remember that tarot readings are not a magical solution to life's challenges. They are tools for self-reflection and guidance.
The Pitfall of Wishful Thinking:
Wishful thinking occurs when we interpret tarot readings in a way that aligns with our deepest desires and hopes, even if it contradicts the cards' actual messages. While it's entirely natural to want the best outcomes, allowing wishful thinking to cloud our interpretation can lead to inaccurate readings and unfulfilled expectations. This can be frustrating and even disheartening, especially if you've invested a lot of emotional energy in a particular outcome.
Finding Clarity in Tarot Readings:
To harness the true power of tarot readings and avoid the pitfall of wishful thinking, consider the following strategies:
Embrace Objectivity: Approach your tarot readings with an open heart and an objective mind. Release any preconceived notions and biases about the situation at hand.
Set Realistic Expectations: Understand that tarot readings provide guidance and insight, but they don't guarantee specific outcomes. Use them to gain perspective and consider your options.
Ask the Right Questions: Frame your questions in a way that promotes clarity and personal growth. Instead of asking, "Will I get this job?" inquire, "What can I do to improve my chances of success in my career?"
Seek Multiple Perspectives: Consider consulting multiple tarot readers or using different decks to gain a well-rounded view of your situation. This can reduce the influence of wishful thinking.
Reflect and Meditate: After a reading, take time to reflect on the messages and insights provided. Meditate on the cards' symbolism and how it relates to your life.
Tumblr media
Conclusion:
Tarot reading can be a powerful tool for self-discovery and guidance when approached with authenticity and a clear mind. While it's natural to wish for the best outcomes, allowing wishful thinking to dominate your readings can lead to misinterpretation. By embracing objectivity, setting realistic expectations, and seeking multiple perspectives, you can find true clarity and empowerment through tarot readings. Remember, the power of tarot lies not in predicting the future but in illuminating the path you choose to follow.

The Power of Intuition: Developing Your Psychic Abilities.
🌟✨
Intuition is a powerful gift that we all possess. It's the inner knowing, the gut feeling, the psychic sense that guides us. Whether you're new to exploring your intuitive abilities or looking to enhance them, here are some exercises and tips to help you tap into the magic of your own intuition.
🌟✨
1. Meditation for Clarity 🧘‍♂️🌌
Take time each day to meditate. Clear your mind, focus on your breath, and allow your intuition to surface. The more you practice, the more in tune you become with your inner wisdom.
2. Trust Your Gut Feeling 🤔💭
Start small by listening to your gut instincts in everyday situations. Trust that inner voice when making decisions. Over time, this will strengthen your intuitive muscle.
3. Tarot and Oracle Cards 🔮🃏
Experiment with divination tools like Tarot or Oracle cards. These can be excellent tools for honing your intuitive skills. Draw a card daily and interpret its message based on your intuition.
4. Dream Journaling 🌙📓
Keep a dream journal by your bedside. Record your dreams as soon as you wake up. Often, dreams contain intuitive insights and symbolism that can be deciphered over time.
5. Practice Empathy and Active Listening 👂❤️
Empathize with others and practice active listening. Tuning into their emotions and thoughts can help you fine-tune your intuitive abilities.
6. Nature Connection 🌿🌳
Spend time in nature. The natural world has its own intuitive energy. Take walks, sit quietly, and observe. Nature can amplify your intuitive senses.
7. Develop Your Third Eye Chakra 🧘‍♀️👁️
Work on balancing and opening your third eye chakra through meditation and visualization exercises. This energy center is often associated with intuition.
8. Trust the Process 🌟🌈
Remember, developing intuition takes time and patience. Trust in your own unique journey. Your intuition is like a muscle; the more you use it, the stronger it becomes.
9. Seek Guidance 🤝🌠
Consider seeking guidance from experienced intuitives or psychics. They can offer insights and techniques based on their own experiences.
10. Keep a Journal of Intuitive Experiences 📔✨
Document your intuitive experiences in a journal. This helps you track your progress and learn from your insights.
🌟✨
Your intuition is a valuable compass on your life's journey. Embrace it, nurture it, and allow it to illuminate your path. The more you connect with your intuition, the more you'll discover the profound wisdom that resides within you.
Embrace the magic of your intuition, and let it lead you toward a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you.

ADHD Witch Tips
We need more adhd witch tips so here, have these. These are the things I have learned and seen done over the past 3 and a bit years of practicing witchcraft. As always, if you have anything to add, please comment them and I'll add them to the list with credit to you and a link to your blog!
Make witchy playlists with intention. Music is the most accessible way of doing magic in my opinion, especially if you're using spells that already exist. You can listen to these while working, traveling or just doing things around the house. If you sing along then you're adding to the manifesting power of the playlist!
Use really large spell candles so that you don't have to make a new one everytime you want to do a spell. I used to have 1 really big protection spell candle that I would light daily. Not having to make a new candle every time made me so much more likely to practice
Learn to meditate. I know, I know, hear me out. This is less of a witch tip and more of a mental health thing. You can meditate while colouring in, listening to music, cleaning, going for a walk. You don't have to sit down with your legs crossed. Mediation is an important skill that none of us do regularly enough.
stop caring about aesthetics. Are they nice? yes! absolutely! but unless it makes you more likely to practice then it's not worth it. caring too much about how your craft looks can also lead to burn out.
Be aware of your energy levels. Burn out is a serious issue among the neurodivergent witch community. Rest and pacing yourself is just as important as actually practicing.
Audio books <3333333
Try to combine your hyperfixation and witchcraft practice. This could mean using sigils in fanart or dedicate your writing to a deity.
Use hearth craft as a way to motivate you to clean your home or to cook meals/eat.
Have affirmations on your phones home screen so whenever you unlock your phone you reminded of your intentions

Low Energy Witchcraft
Witchy things for you to do when your energy is low but your need to witch is high.*
Hi-res download available on my ko-fi for monthly and one-time members!
Tumblr media
Energy Observation
Not everyone can sit in a serene and silent room and meditate efficiently, so pop on your noise-canceling headphones and maybe do a quick guided meditation to help get in tune with the flow of energy in your body. Simply observe, don’t try to force energy to flow
Tea spells
Herbal teas are great for spells because they already have “spell components”—herbs—and they’re designed to be easy to make. Choose a tea that incorporates herbs that fit the intentions of your spell. If you have the energy for it, come up with a prayer, chant, or rhyme for your spell while you wait for the tea to brew!
Touch Grass
No really—go outside and just appreciate the nature around you try to see if you can let go of yourselves and just be a part of the world around you.
Spiritual Soup
If you can’t go outside then try to get in tune with your indoor space and allow yourself to become part of the spiritual soup that is your living space.
Digital Offerings
If you can’t physically create an offering for the deities, spirits, etc in your life, make a digital offering. You could create a mood board, collage, cobble together a Pinterest board, and more. The possibilities are endless!
*Keep in mind that this is my personal experience and your mileage may vary. While these seem pretty low energy for me and others, this may not be the case for you. Take what clicks with you and leave what doesn't.

Samhain Altar Ideas & Correspondences
Samhain is the Celtic festival that marks the end of the harvest season and the thinning of the veil between the living and the spirit world. It's a time to honor your ancestors, connect with the spirit world, and plan ahead for months of darkness.
Altar Ideas
Altar Cloth: Choose dark, earthy colors like black, deep purple, or dark green to set the foundation for your altar.
Candles: Black or orange candles represent the energies of Samhain. You can also include white or silver candles for purification and connection to the spirit realm.
Seasonal Fruits: Apples, pomegranates, and grapes are commonly associated with Samhain and can be offered as symbols of the harvest.
Fallen Leaves: Gather fallen leaves, especially those with vibrant autumn colors, to represent the changing seasons and the cycle of life and death.
Acorns and Nuts: These symbolize the potential for new beginnings and growth and can be placed on your altar to honor the harvest.
Pumpkins and Gourds: Decorate your altar with small pumpkins and gourds, which are quintessential symbols of autumn and Samhain.
Ancestral Photos: Include photographs of deceased loved ones to honor and connect with your ancestors.
Ancestral Mementos: Heirlooms, jewelry, or items that belonged to your ancestors can serve as a link to their energy and presence.
Divination Tools: Samhain has historically been a time for divination to predict the upcoming year. Tarot cards, runes, a crystal ball, pendulum, or scrying mirror can be placed on your altar for Samhain divination and communication with the spirit world.
Crystals and Gemstones: Obsidian, onyx, amethyst, or garnet.
Broom (Besom): Place a besom on or near your altar to symbolize the act of sweeping away negativity and making room for positive energy and transformation.
Incense and Smudging Materials: frankincense, myrrh, or sage.
Offering Dishes: Use special dishes or bowls to hold offerings for your ancestors or spirit guides, such as food, drink, or tokens of appreciation.
Seasonal Flowers: Add fresh or dried flowers that are in bloom during the fall, like marigolds, chrysanthemums, asters, or dried lavender.
Personal Letters or Messages: Write letters or messages to your deceased loved ones, expressing your thoughts and feelings. Place these on your altar as a form of communication.
Symbols of Death and Rebirth: Skulls, bones, or representations of the God and Goddess in their transition from one phase to another.
Bells or Wind Chimes: These can be rung to invite and communicate with spirits, serving as a way to signal your intentions and presence.
Samhain Correspondences
Colors: Black, Orange, Red
Deities: The Morrigan, Hecate, Persephone, Cernunnos
Herbs: Mugwort, Cinnamon, Rosemary, Tobacco, Pumpkin Seeds, Rue, Wormwood.
Foods and Offerings: Apples, nuts, pumpkins, mulled cider, pomegranates. A silent dumb supper may be held to celebrate the harvest and connect with departed loved ones.
Intentions: New beginnings, transformation, death and rebirth, reflection, ancestral connection, spiritual protection, divination.

Ritual Types: divination, enchanting, cleansing, dowsing, astral travel, lucid dreaming, healing, lunar magic, scrying.
MAGICK NOTES:
Introducing water magic to everyday life is the easiest of all the elements!
While making tea, imagine putting good energy/intention into it and then drink it to have a good day! Afterwards (if you have time and skills) you can feel free to do divination, using leftover tea leaves.
While taking a bath/shower in the evening, imagine the water pouring onto you to be white/light in color and the water dripping off of you to be black/greyish color. I use it to cleanse myself of all the negative energy.
Looking into mirror as a divination is a very disturbing experience for me! Like, it’s effective, it can get weird though.
Water in a spray bottle can be used for space cleansing if you don’t wanna use incense all the time. Also it’s good for the indoor plants if you have any!
Washing dishes is another ritual of mine and it’s a good way to meditate. I just get lost in thought.
If you want to practice water magic, follow moon phases and use them to your advantage!
Water magic is not necessarily only gathering water and using it, but also perfoming spells or doing anything spiritual during specific weather conditions (ex.: raining, storm, snowing, hail stones).
TYPES OF WATER USED IN SPELLS:
Moon Water - great for all kinds of spells and craft! Moon water can have different abilities, all depending on during which moon phase we charged it in. The best water is the one charged during full moon or super moon as it is the most powerful.
Sun Water - keywords: positivity, strenght, happiness, courage, good health.
Rain Water - good for cleansing, meditation and relaxation. Keywords: growth, regeneration, cleansing, rest.
River Water - good for warding or spells with a clear goal as river water has a focused energy. Keywords: movement, action, flow.
Lake/Pond Water - I find it good for connecting with nature or animals. Could be used in animal magic. Keywords: wildness, nature, hidden, isolation.
Swamp/Mud Water - good for curses, hexes, binding, wishing someone bad health. Keywords: disease, dirty work, sticky, messy.
Sea Water - good for protection, banishing and any form of spell that needs powerful but calm energy. Keywords: vastness, life, fear.
Dew Water - keywords: vulnerability, peace, refreshing, delicate, calm, waiting. Good for Fae communication or any creature that is elusive.
Storm Water - good for spells that needs a lot of power. Be warned though, it’s very different from the sea water; it’s uncontrolled, chaotic and doesn’t last long. There’s a lot of anger and destructive energy.
Ice/Snow Water - keywords: endings, change, patience, harmony, growth.
Cemetery Water - good for necromancy, of course. You can put some in a spray bottle and spray it in a room in which you want to communicate with the dead.
Well Water - keywords: wishing, domesticity, home, family, community. Could be good for communicating with spirits/creatures living near or in your house.
Fog/Mist - keywords: invisibility, mystery, hidden, blindness. Spells including ‘clouding someone’s judgement’, those in which you want to stay anonymous as much as you can or those who will slowly start working over time.
